She made sure our ceremony was exactly what we wanted!

Cantor Debbi Ballard was the perfect officiant for our wedding! She was so easy to work with and made sure our ceremony was exactly what we wanted! So many of our guests at our wedding told us how beautiful our ceremony was! We definitely highly recommend her!

Cantor Debbi was amazing! She officiated a beautiful ceremony for my daughter and now son-in-law. She found ways to unite them that were touching and meaningful. I was very happy with Cantor Debbie and the way she was very personal with me and my fiancé and she sat down with us and asked us what we wanted and was very easy to get along with. She performed a beautiful ceremony and I was very happy with how everything turned out.

Cantor Debbie - 5 Stars - She Officiated Both of My Daughters' Weddings (and they're still married!)

Debbie got to know the couple and was also happy to meet with their parents. She encouraged incorporating everyone's values into the ceremony, and went above and beyond to not offend anyone by going "too far" or "not enough" (both were "mixed" marriages regarding religion). She incorporated as much "Jewish Traditions" as was requested. She met separately with the couple and then again with the couple and their parents. She was timely at the meetings and at the ceremonies as well, and always had a smile on her face. The ceremony felt like she has known our families and the couple for years.

SUGGESTIONS - Ask her not to wear her black "talit" as it didn't look pretty against the white wedding dress. Also let her know if you want her to sign and play guitar.

FYI - I really don't recall how much her fee was, but let's just say we used her twice and my niece is using her next month for her wedding.

Debbi Ballard was the officant at our wedding and we were so pleased to have her by our side. Because this was an interfaith wedding she set up time to talk with us both about our beliefs and what we wanted our of our ceremony, blessings etc. We reviewed several passages until we found the one that was perfect for us. She guided us during the whole process and when it came to the day of, everything was perfect and you could tell the guests felt included and could relate to everything she was saying about love, life and the importance of a happy marriage. She even played the guitar and sang beautifully! Not to mention, she helped us find and even proof our Ketubah :)

Cantor Debbi was an absolute pleasure to work with!! She was very attentive and helpful throughout the entire process and truly made our wedding extra special! She formed a bond with both me and my husband and I know we will continue to stay in touch! Both of our families also loved her and felt very connected and included (both the Jewish side and the non-Jewish side)!

First of all, Debbie is absolutely AMAZING!!! We did an interfaith wedding and she was so accommodating! She actually performed the ceremony with my mother in law who is ordained and they co-officiated. They performed wonderfully! Debbie is very thorough and professional, but also a lot of fun. She is always smiling and happy. We definitely plan to stay in contact with her and I would definitely recommend her for hire! Also, you should definitely have her sing at your wedding. Its a super cool touch and she is really good!

There is no one like Cantor Debbi. She is more than a ray of sunshine, she is the sun. She has given my husband and I the best possible beginning to our happily ever after. She has taught us, expanded our knowledge of one another and challenged our questions to start the most solidified foundation I could have ever hoped for my marriage. I fell in love with her the very first time we met her. Since then, she has become an incredible source of encouragement, influence and inspiration. I'm so thankful for having met her. And we are so excited to continue tackling life together as a Jewish couple with her love and guidance.

Cantor Debbi was absolutely phenomenal !! From the first moment we made contact, I felt a close connection with her. She really took the time to get to know us and helped create our perfect ceremony. She gave us great advice for our ketubah and our couples reading. She explained all of the parts of our Jewish ceremony to our guests and made them all feel included. Our ceremony was on the beach in Key West, Florida and Cantor Debbi drove back and forth from Fort Lauderdale to be with us. She was always extremely responsive which was important when trying to plan things long distance. She is very talented with her guitar and singing - she has a beautiful voice and it was very spiritual. We were so fortunate to have Cantor Debbi as our officiant - she made all of our wedding dreams come true!

Cantor Debbi is AH-mazing!!!!!!! She has officiated over several events for our family over the past 4 years, and she makes each one different, special and absolutely the best. Whether a mitzvah, wedding, or memorial service, Cantor Debbi gives her heart and soul each time. We always receive compliments on the service that she provides, and she takes the time to get to know her familes. She has a knack for being able to incorporate may different aspects into her services, so that no one feels left out or ignored. We consider her a part of our family now and we LOVE her!!!!!

There is no one better than Cantor Debbi! She is the total package. From tutoring my son and building a strong relationship with him to the actual date of the event, Debbi gives 100%. Our son's Bar Mitzvah service was personal and heartfelt. He did an amazing job which is a true testament to Debbi and her dedication to her students and their families. Cantor Debbi will forever be a part of our family.

Cantor Debbi did a fabulous job with my daughters Bat Mitzvah! Not only did my daughter learn what she needed to know in less then a year, but the we are still getting compliments a year later on her service. I attribute that to Debbi!!
She is currently working with my son for his Bar Mitzvah. I know the service with be equally as special.

Debbi is an amazing officiant and person. She sets a warm, inviting tone for your event without taking away traditions. We had many guests of all ages at our son"s Bar Mitzvah that had never been to one before. Debbie creates an inclusive atmosphere for all and explains the ceremony and traditions throughout the service. So many of our guests, both Jewish and not Jewish said it was such a wonderful experience & "why can't they all be like that?"

Cantor Debbi Ballard performed the most beautiful, personal Bar Mitzvah service for my son last month. Everyone at the service couldn't stop talking about how beautiful it was...the music, her words, her explanations so everyone could follow the service. It was more than we could've ever imagined and we are so thankful that our son shared and was guided through this milestone with Cantor Debbi. We highly recommend her for any Jewish experience...she is one of a kind.

Cantor Debbi made our son Jared's Bar Mitzvah a memorable and wonderful celebration of Judaism and Jared. We could not have been more moved with her words. From preparation of prayers to learning the meaning of this day, Debbi was spot on. Our friends who are not Jewish and our friends who are conservative could not stop talking about our service. I can't say enough about Cantor Debbi, She made it possible for my son to have a Bar Mitzvah by teaching him online and traveling to us to perform his ceremony. In the year they worked together, Debbi became part of the family. The service she performed was so special. We had a large group of people in attendance who had never before attended a Bar Mitzvah, and Debbi led a service that was so warm and welcoming, and at the same time helped them to understand what was going on throughout the service. We were blessed to have Cantor Debbi perform our son's ceremony and cannot wait to do it all over again for our daughter in 2016.

Debbi was the officiant for our wedding and she did an amazing job! We loved every second working with her and she was extremely flexible and helped us tailor the perfect ceremony for our interfaith wedding. She has a lot to offer and was open to all of our ideas and provided advice from her experience. We loved the time she took with us, her responsiveness, and the fact that she took the time to get to know us! Everyone we talked to during the reception mentioned how beautiful the ceremony was and that Debbi did a wonderful job. On November 3, 2012 I got married in St. Augustine Florida. My wife is Catholic and I am Jewish. We had an interfaith wedding that took place inside a Catholic Church. We had two officiates one of which was Cantor Debbi Ballard and the other was a priest. I would highly recommend Cantor Debbi Ballard. Not only does she go above and beyond but she is very knowledgeable, has a great personality, is always available to make time for you during the planning process, preforms a beautiful ceremony and is very punctual. Debbi showed up early to both the rehearsal and wedding. She was always available to talk and get advice from. She makes you feel very comfortable. I cannot say enough good things about Cantor Debbi Ballard. If you having an interfaith wedding Debbi Ballard is who you want!

We looked for quite a while to find the right person for our destination wedding in Puerto Rico. We were delighted to find Cantor Debbi. She was responsive and flexible to our needs and conducted a beautiful ceremony.

I feel so fortunate to have found Debbi. What struck me was her professionalism, compassion, and philosophy about the world. She is open-minded and non-judgemental. She made our wishes to have an interfaith wedding easy. She didn't make me feel like a bad Jew for wanting the wedding during Shabbat along with the other non-traditional wishes my husband and I held. My husband is Christian and we both wanted that respected equally at our wedding. Luckily, both of our families are open-minded and Debbi fit right in. During the time that we had found her, we had endured a very deep loss and Debbi counseled me in a manner that left me feeling at peace, hopeful, and amazed at how 'outside the box' she thinks and speaks. It is comforting and I knew she was the one for our wedding. She was always there for us throughout the year before our wedding. She is located in Fort Lauderdale and we are in New York City. She always had time (I could never figure out how with her incredible schedule) and never made herself seem put out by our desire to speak to her. When I met her in person the weekend of our wedding, I felt like I'd known her my entire life. We both agreed that she is so open-minded in her spirituality that we would join her synagogue in a heartbeat if we were closer to Florida.
I have already recommended her to my Florida friends. Debbi is a sweetheart who provides comfort when needed while giving your wedding the peace, beauty, class, and personalization you wish for. She made everything perfect and left us with no regrets.
Sidenote: Due to Debbi's openness and her belief that all people deserve love, equality, and inner peace along with the fact that she exudes kindness and non-judgement, even our family and guests who are interfaith, interracial, and same sex married loved her, too.
If you are looking for a balanced person who will make your day special, Debbi is the woman for the job.

I cannot say enough good things about Cantor Debbi....as an interfaith couple, she was able to make both sides of our families feel incredibly comfortable and included in all parts of our ceremony. Our interfaith wedding in Key West was perfect! We were looking for someone to truly make our destination wedding ceremony very special- and Debbi made it just that. Living in Boston and planning a wedding in Key West was stressful at times but Debbi made it very easy. She was very responsive with her emails and was able to communicate smoothly and effectively via email/phone conversations.
I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to officiate their wedding, interfaith or not

Debbi was such a wonderful and needed addition to our wedding - we cannot sing her praises enough. We were having a tough time finding a cantor that would be willing to co-officiate with our priest, and a cantor we knew recommended Debbi. We were a bit worried at first because lots of people we had heard of who were willing to do interfaith weddings were, for lack of a better word, kooky, or at least pushing a view point that wasn't us. Not Debbi! What a lucky find! Debbi is not only a kind, loving, warm person, but also extremely professional and very knowledgable about Jewish wedding traditions. She was able to integrate information about the Jewish elements of the service into the ceremony without being exclusive, and helped us figure out what we wanted our ceremony to look like by giving us a template, showing us other interfaith ceremonies she had officiated - even giving us a variety of different texts of different blessings. Additionally, she was willing to fly all the way from Florida and stay in DC for the weekend for no additional cost (though we did obviously pay for the flight and the hotel), and her sole purpose the whole weekend was to get to know my now-husband and I and prepare everyone for the wedding. It was awesome! I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to officiate their wedding, interfaith or not.

Debbi was great! I was trying to organize things from Toronto and Debbie was responsive and helpful right from the start. I had spoken to other officiants and didn't feel the same connection as I did with Debbi. It was very important for us to have someone who was caring and exuded a warmth that was brought over into our ceremony.
Thanks Debbi - you helped to put the "special" in our special day!

I searched the web looking for someone that would be able to do a interfaith wedding ceremony. Luckily I found Cantor Debbi Ballard! I viewed her website and watched her youtube videos. One is always nervous about using someone online whom they have never met. We spoke with Debbi and also used skype to talk face to face since we are not local to her. The ketubah ceremony was fantastic she really made everyone feel comfortable and the ceremony was just amazing. I can't wait to get my video back so that I may watch her in action again! I would reccomend her to anyone!

For our interfaith wedding, my (now) husband and I were so unsure of what to do. We at first thought that we would have a "combination" rabbi and pastor, but we could not decide if that was really what we wanted. The first time I talked to Cantor Debbi, she immediately made me feel so comfortable, but besides that, she absolutely "got" us and our situation. She had been through it before, and knew that we wanted to bring our faiths together instead of show how different they were. She said that her goal was to show, by having one officiant that incorporated both faiths, that our faiths were coming together, instead of having two separate officiants that showed the clear differences between us. Our guests have not stopped raving about our ceremony - they say that it was the perfect amount of traditions of both faiths, while being beautiful, romantic, and intimate. Cantor Debbi feels like a friend, and my husband and I feel that our wedding was so special because of her!

Debbi was wonderful! We were having our wedding out of town so we interviewed 4 officiates over the phone and Debbi was the most pleasant, responsive and enthusiastic. What can I say about Cantor Deborah Ballard, too many good things and not enough words….Cantor Debbi recently officiate our wedding ceremony in Aruba on May 17th, 2011. The personal touch she added to our ceremony was appreciated and at times surprising. While she requires a profile completed of all brides and grooms, we never expected such attention to detail regarding our individual personalities or history together. All these details and information was mentioned and incorporated into our ceremony components. Prior to our ceremony we had only “met” Cantor Debbi via Skype or through phone or email communications, yet she had the natural ability to become part of the group soon after her arrival in Aruba. I felt like I had met her before and known her for some time, after only a few short hours. Cantor Debbi offers a level of comfort, security and confidence in her handling of the ceremony. The day of our ceremony, we ran into some issues with the wedding provider at the resort we were staying. Cantor Debbi not only showed genuine concern, but she also resolved some of the issues and put everyone in our wedding party at ease. We are blessed to have had Cantor Debbi be part of our wedding ceremony and cannot say thank you enough.

We were fortunate to meet Cantor Debbi Ballard over the internet way back in September while we began to plan our May 2011 wedding. As we got to planning so many details and trying to please all our families, we lost touch with Cantor Debbi. Over the course of several months we found our way back to her and, miraculously, she had our date available! We honestly think it was the most moving, intimate and special ceremony ever performed...and ALL of our guests agree. Cantor Debbi was involved with our planning right away, keeping in touch over the phone, (SKYPE if I could've ever figured it out!) the internet, and personal meetings once we got to Florida with us and my parents. She was like a member of our family by the time the wedding day came, and was such a calming influence on all of us. We had Jewish traditions in the ceremony and some more universal spiritual elements that, my now husband, felt important to him. It all blended beautifully, on the beach...feet in the sand...under an exquisite chuppah constructed of bamboo and flowers. We cannot say thank you enough to Cantor Debbi Ballard for being there on the journey to our marriage ceremony. She is extraordinary and lovely!

Cantor Debbi was extremely helpful with our wedding. Even though she was not the officiant due to previous plans she had, she did supply us with a back up, Ellari who was more than amazing! We had a Buddhist type ceremony with mixed religious vows, mostly Buddhist with some Gibran and Celtic thrown in. Ellari did an amazing job with everything even though the ceremony was postponed an hour due to severe rain. Debbi was extremely helpful before and during until she handed it over to Ellari. Both of these women are amazing and extremely helpful. You will not be disappointed1

We live in New York but, wanted to get married in Fort Lauderdale. We found Cantor Debbi Ballard on Wedding Wire and called her. Immediately, we had a bond with her. It's hard not to love such a generous soul. We had a few Skype/phone meetings with her and eventually filled out a form for her reference. But, she wasn't all about a cookie cutter, fill-in the blanks approach. Debbi quickly became a part of our lives. We included her in our reception. Our guests all thought we knew her for a long time. Everybody was so impressed and touched by her ceremony. They all said it reflected who each of us is perfectly. Now, she's pretty much a member of the family. We love Debbi very much and are so pleased to have had her as our celebrant!

Debbi was absolutely fantastic! We were worried about finding an officiant who would be able to combine our dynamic religious paths, as DH is Jewish and I'm Pagan, but all our worries flew out the window when we found Debbi. She instantly put us at ease, helped me feel like my spirituality was accepted and even celebrated, and created a beautiful experience for the both of us that put our faiths and our families at the forefront.

She was also wonderful with her responsiveness and communication. DH and I moved to Maryland not long after getting engaged, and while we were concerned with the distance during wedding planning, we didn't have to worry about Debbi! She responded to emails and phone calls quickly and professionally, answered all our questions (and, um, we had a LOT), and even managed to make us feel like we were right there in south Florida with her during the entire process -- a daunting task!

I would recommend Debbi for absolutely any interfaith wedding ceremony. I know she had combined several different faiths with Judaism before, but I think she mentioned that this was the first Jewish-Pagan ceremony she's done (I might be wrong on that, haha), but she did an absolutely INCREDIBLE job. :)

Thank you so much, Debbi, for creating and officiating such a beautiful, memorable, and all-encompassing wedding ceremony. We entirely credit you for the amazing day we had!

The wedding was planned for March. Cantor Debbi was to be the officiant. Then, out of nowhere, my grandmother was rushed to the hospital and needed a triple bypass with aortic valve replacement. The doctors told us that she would not survive the operation, but without it, she would die. We had no other choice but to do it asap. BUT...her dream was to be at my wedding. I called Cantor Debbi and told her about the situation. She married me and Ryan in the ICU at Aventura Hospital the next morning. My grandmother's dream was fulfilled. Cantor Debbi said many wonderful prayers over her and they worked. She survived the operation and the doctors called her a miracle. She is now in rehab and doing great! I will always believe that Cantor Debbi had something to do with her miracle. Thanks for everything. You are truly a special person.

I love Cantor Debbi Ballard!! Garrett and I had an inter-faith wedding so we were looking for a rabbi and a reverend. After setting up a few appointments, Cantor Debbi was our first interview. She explained to us that she specializes in inter-faith and after 2 hours of chit-chat…we walked out of Starbucks and Garrett told me to cancel the other appointments because he wanted Cantor Debbi to officiate our wedding! No Reverend needed! We kept in constant communication with her all year and met with her a handful of times to ‘check-in’ and have her get to know us more. She customizes each wedding so her seeing us often helped her to write her personalized words about us at the ceremony. The entire ceremony was customized to what we wanted. She catered to both our religions and it was perfect! We are forever grateful that she was ‘the one’ to marry us and I would recommend her 1,000 times over to any bride.

Finding and working with Debbi was one of the best things we did when we got married. Josh (my husband) is Jewish, and I was raised Catholic but am not practicing any religion/consider myself spiritual. It was very hard finding someone who knew all of the Jewish traditions firsthand and could carry them out flawlessly, but who would also be lenient enough to let us make (a lot!) of changes to accommodate our shared spirituality. The result was an awesomely unique ceremony that Debbi carried out superbly - both of our parents and many of our guests have commented numerous times on how memorable and unique our ceremony was, thanks to all of the love and support Debbi put into it. We would highly recommend her!

Cantor Debbi was just wonderful. The ceremony was beautiful - she made it so personal and really captured the essence of Jason and I as individuals and as a couple (and after only a few phone calls to get to know us!). There wasn't a dry eye in the house! Her blessing with the guitar was a really special treat as well. After the ceremony we learned that she had seriously injured her ankle right before the ceremony started on the beach...we had no idea, she held complete composure and did an amazing job! The only word that keeps coming back to me from Cantor Debbi Ballard is unbelievable! Our interfaith ceremony was just awesome. Her sincere delivery of the ceremony was commented on by everyone who attended as being one of the best weddings they had ever been to. Several people commented that this was actually a wedding they would remember for a change. She brought some to tears and some to full on laughter. It was perfect!

I was from out of town and was a bit overwhelmed with the idea of finding someone over the internet but the moment I spoke with Debbi I knew it would be a great fit. She understood us well and the ceremony cemented that fact.

Our ceremony, like most, was not without glitches - the weather didn't cooperate and the glass breaking ceremony was.. well.. it was an adventure but Debbi kept it all cool and smooth. She helped make the day truly memorable and I cannot say enough good things about her.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Debbi! My husband and I had two hurdles to jump to get to our wedding day - the first, as an interfaith couple who would be our officiant and the second, as an out of town couple, how would we find them?

I spent a long time reaching out to various officiants, including my childhood rabbi, and for a variety of reasons they weren't the right fit. We wanted someone to marry us who thought we were right just the way we are - no need to convert, take classes, etc. Speaking to Debbi it was clear that she was that Officiant.

The next concern was would we connect prior to the wedding, so that we felt we knew her and she really knew us. It was important to have someone so intimately involved in our wedding really know us. Debbi made great efforts to do just that, we met every time we came to town, had Skype calls, phone calls and many emails to answer all of our questions. With Debbi's help we were able to plan a ceremony that included our friends and families, and that was beautifully unique to us.

Cantor Debbi was perfect! I searched far and wide for a jewish officiant to marry me and my husband (he's atheist). I was beginning to feel shunned by my community after I was rudely turned down by several rabbis. Being an interfaith couple, choosing an officiant was a very daunting task. We had to take into account everyone's religious beliefs, feelings and faith. We came across Debbi and thought that she may be the one to marry us.

Once we actually spoke to her, we truly knew that she would be the one.

Debbi is extremely passionate about her work. She is very conscientious, caring and has a very strong understanding of what her couples are looking for. Debbi took the time to understand us both as a couple, and then separately as individuals... The result was a MAGNIFICENT performance that not only made all of our guests emotional, but the entire staff at the hotel were tearing up as well (and they see weddings ALL THE TIME!!).

Debbi really is a pro. I can't say enough good things about her. She really made everything possible for us, and for that, we are forever grateful to her.

Every bride wants their day to be special and Debbi accomplished that and so much more!!! She even sang during our ceremony! She was just amazing! She is a beautiful person inside and out!!! I would recommend her over and over again!!!

Debbi was awesome! So personable and friendly. I would highly recommend her for any wedding. She got along with my family and other relatives wonderfully. I could go on and on... they would all be great statements :)

Debbi was amazing! We couldnt have asked for a more perfect ceremony and a better person to perform it. She was able to listen to us and do what we envisioned. She is a warm and caring person - perfect!

I am the mother of the bride, Micha, Cantor Debbie, was beyond great. She truly took the time to get to know Micha and Sam and was able to use their personalities in the service. Everyone felt the love, passion and harmony that Cantor Debbie knew the couple felt for each other. She was outstanding.

Debbi was absolutely amazing!!!! The only reason I did not give 100% all 5 stars was because she became quite busy during the year that we were planning our wedding. Things on her end got a little hectic, therefore she was not always quick to respond and her schedule became really tight...not a bad thing, but I wanted to give an accurate rating.

Our guests RAVED about our ceremony and it was only because of her. When do you go to a wedding and even care to listen to the service, let alone remember certain aspects of the service? Pretty much never! Our guests STILL talk about her beautiful voice singing, her unique ring ceremony, and the way she would explain what we were doing and the background of it....We had an interfaith ceremony so my family who was Catholic had no idea why we were standing under the chuppa, what the ketubah was, why we drank out of the kiddush cup....but she explained everything and they were so intrigued!! My parents and both of our families absolutely loved her! She welcomed them into our meetings and made an effort to get to know them. She worked wonderfully with our pastor and he was a little tough to deal with at times....At and after the wedding noone commented on our pastor, but everyone remembered her and told us how wonderful she was. I could probably go on forever about her...she is so friendly, so genuine, has a great sense of humor, makes you feel so comfortable and as if you have known her for years. She will give you advice on ANYTHING you need...like where to get a ketubah (and she even got us a discount), what to write on it, good venues for ceremonies/receptions, anything! I remember sitting at our rehearsal dinner and was asking her about when my fiance and I should speak, what to say, and if I am supposed to speak or if he was....Overall, she was fabulous and I highly recommend her if you want a ceremony that people will remember and a Cantor that you will know for the rest of your life! We'd loved working with her throughout the wedding and miss it already!!

Debbi was amazing to work with. We had another Officiant at the ceremony and they were able to create a beautifully harmonious ceremony together. She was very flexible with our requests and really listened to us to understand the type of ceremony we wanted. Would definitely recommend her.

Cantor Ballard was a great part of our wedding. After working with her over a some months, my wife and I got to know her very well. We were so happy she could be part of our special day. Her sparkling personality and enthusiasm was a tremendous addition to our wedding!
