Wonderful, friendly, stress free!

Curtis was phenomenal to work with from start to finish! His platform for planning playlists and songs is user friendly. He also has many of his own playlists for the couple who isn't picky! Our guests had a great time at our wedding dance. Curtis was also very respectful of our preferences as bride and groom. One of our guests requested an anniversary dance. We had not included that in our special dances. Prior to granting request, Curtis found us and made sure we were ok with it. Top notch service. Very friendly, care free, and stress free experience. Highly recommend!!

We can’t say enough good things about Music Man Productions and the role they played in making our wedding day truly special. The DJ can make or break a reception, and Curtis absolutely delivered. He took the time to meet with us multiple times, listened closely to our preferences, and understood our music style and event timeline in detail. His attention to details helped ensure everything ran smoothly and felt personalized. The value we received was perfectly aligned with our budget and expectations. The dance floor was never empty. Curtis did an excellent job as the DJ for our wedding last month! He was very responsive and helpful during the planning process, and he was very easy to work with and has many, many years of experience in the business which made him a great resource for us! He kept everything running smoothly and on schedule, and did an awesome job at entertaining our guests during the dance!

We were so thankful to have Curtis/Music Man Productions as a part of our wedding reception! What a perfect day!!

Music Man Productions did an amazing job at our wedding. We loved the online wedding planning and the ability to customize every detail of our big day. Our guests couldn't stay off the dance floor and we loved the setup that was brought with the lighting and sound.

Excellent Experience!

Brock was absolutely amazing! He was professional and timely from the consultation to wedding day! He accommodated our playlist while also reading the crowd and kept everyone dancing. I highly recommend him for your event! Brock did phenomenal work and is an amazing person as well!

Great service, very on top of things.

We had Brock from MusicMan and he was absolutely amazing. He had great communication, made announcements as needed, and helped keep the day going smoothly. We had so many families complimenting on how great he was and how much they loved the music. I would book him for any event I have in the future. Absolute 10/10.

DJ Services

Brock and Leah were an excellent choice for our wedding. Brock did a great job of coaching everybody, was very receptive and responsive to any of our requests, and played great music for the dance floor. He had a strong understanding of the pace and flow of the wedding and was able to command direction when required. The photo booth was also a very good addition to our wedding for quality and ease of use. They were both very friendly, professional and I would highly recommend them for your event.

Brock is a GREAT DJ!

Brock is a fantastic DJ! We looked through a long list of potential DJs and decided to reach out to Brock based on the reviews he already had. Most of the reviews mentioned the personal aspect Brock brought to a wedding, which was really attractive. From the first phone call with Brock, it was evident he cared a lot about his role in the big day. Always on top of the details, and a lot of fun to talk too. We met Brock and Leah to go over details a few months before our wedding day. It was super helpful, as they knew what to ask and how to setup the flow of the day. Any small details that came up before the wedding day, Brock was on top of it, and would make sure the adjustments were made right away. He gave us a lot of confidence heading into the big day through the way he prepared. Our wedding was run so well by Brock....not a single awkward pause in the ceremony or reception. It all flowed smoothly, and Brock would even check-in with us to see if we needed more or less time to get to the next thing. Very flexible on his part. Overall, we were most impressed by his attention to detail, and the care he displayed for our wedding. Having a good DJ is very important for the big day. Brock made our day so special, and we were able to enjoy the day fully, knowing the details were covered by him. He is a great DJ and very, very good at what he does. I would highly recommend using him for your big day!

Ditched my first DJ a month before my daughters wedding a a photographer friend of mine recommended Curtis and after meeting him I felt very good about hiring him. He did a wonderful job and I was so happy he was able to step in last minute.

Unforgettable!! Time of our life!

Amazing wedding DJ/EMCEE!!! We were looking for a DJ/EMCEE that wasn’t shy, willing to hear some of our ideas and most importantly have fun with us! Brock and his wife Leah did just that. They kept the show rolling when we were taking wedding photos, gladly took requests from the guests and helped us put together the best room zoom ever. If you are looking for a professional experience with charismatic character, not shy with the mic and willing truly enjoy your special even with you, Rodgers Rocks Entertainment is who you book! 2+ weeks later our friends and family are still talking about Brock & Leah. I can’t guarantee you’ll get a jet fly by like we did, but you’ll have your own perfect experience! They have amazing hearts and it was honor having them at our wedding. Good communication and easy to use websitr

When searching for a DJ, Curtis got back to us within the hour and set up a zoom meeting with us the next day to talk. He was very helpful, had a clear guide on pricing which is always appreciated, and even had photos of his setup in our venue as he’d worked there before and so was familiar with how it would all look. I wanted to use some songs that I had found on YouTube or just came across on social media and he was great about me just sending him what I liked and finding it on his end. We also had one song that we sent him a slowed down version of for our dance and that went well. I greatly appreciated that he had a website where you had a wedding profile and then we could add notes and sort what songs were our top 20 must play, 100 songs we love, and then any songs that were our Do Not Play as well. When talking through the day of, he helped us brainstorm and order of events so that he could also announce or change the music as the day went on. We slightly changed it right before and so I just emailed him the new schedule and you would’ve never known that we changed it. He was good at picking up on the crowd- I have some friends who love Taylor Swift and I forgot to put it on must play, he played one and it brought them all out to the dance floor! We had our ceremony and reception in the same place and he provided mics to flip to the officiants jacket and to the grooms jacket so everyone could hear without needing a mic stand. Overall everything went smoothly, the songs we requested were all there, and I had a great time hearing all my ABBA favorites while also Curtis mixing in some crowd favorites

GREAT! The dance floor was full all night!

We really liked working with Curtis! I would highly recommend him! In our opinion he did a wonderful job! We received lots of compliments about him as well, that the volume of the music was great during dinner and then when the dance started he turned it up (but not so loud that people couldn’t talk). I thought he was very personable when we met up and the website he gives you is easy to fill out and navigate and put in the songs you want played. Our dance floor was full the whole night.

He was very responsive and proactive leading up to the day of and was super helpful in crafting a great playlist and vibe we wanted for the day of. On our wedding day he was on time and professional. Brock and Leah are THE BEST

There are not enough stars to give you two!!! Brock and Leah did an amazing job and made our wedding so special. We had a lot of instructions for our ceremony and reception, and they were perfect with everything. They had an awesome setup for our outdoor ceremony and ran the music perfectly. They had amazing transitions and read the crowd so well with our music. They were on top of every little detail and executed everything flawlessly. Awesome DJ!

We used Brock as our DJ for our high school prom this year. He was easy to get in touch with, punctual on arrival for set up, interacted well with the chaperones and students, and was very eager to please our students. We could not have asked for a better DJ than Brock Rodgers and his wife Leah from Music Man Productions! Brock was kind, thoughtful, and organized during the planning process. In addition, he was very responsive and answered all of our questions. They kept us on schedule during the reception while creating a lively environment. Must have DJ!!

Brock was an absolutely amazing DJ! Due to COVID complications, he had to step in last minute and still exceeded our expectations. He made sure to touch base on all of our notes from previous meetings to make sure he knew what to expect and knew what we wanted. He played all of our favorites and did an excellent job managing requests and fitting those into the flow of the night. We had a 5 hour dance and he kept the dance floor full the entire time. I wouldn't look anywhere else for a DJ, you have found the best!

I work for a venue located in Ankeny, called Toast. Brock was our DJ, and he was phenomenal! He really knew how to get the crowd wild, and played the best music! The party never wanted to end! I hope to work with Brock again at Toast!

Best DJ in all of Iowa

As an Event Coordinator who has seen a fair share of DJs, I knew I wanted this company to host my personal Wedding! Curtis took every curveball we threw at him like it was nothing. Super professional team. I would recommend this DJ to everybody, I promise they are worth every penny. They let us customize every moment of our special day. Even when I requested a terrible song choice and everyone left the dance floor, he was able to bring everyone right back with the very next song. He has thousands of hours of experience and it shows!

Exceptional Service!

Curtis is such a great Emcee! He was flexible the day of and helped us have a private cake cutting! Curtis played hit after hit all night long and thanks to him even our grandparents got on the dance floor a time or two! He did a great job announcing all the events. Leah and Brock make the perfect wedding team!

Throughout wedding planning, we had the following guidelines in choosing vendors: quality (for which we looked at reviews), value (for which we looked at package specs and price), and ideally some sign of inclusivity. Music Man Productions was very straightforward with packages, the reviews mentioned elements that were important for us, and they mention they serve the LGBTQ community on their website, which meant a lot to us. Your DJ really sets the tone, and we wanted everyone to feel welcome to the party.
Curtis was our initial contact. A few months beforehand, Curtis had a family commitment and we switched to Brock and Leah. Initially we were flustered, but not only was it a seamless transition, but they are just a rock solid team and extraordinary professionals. One or both of them are teachers, and that combination of engaging and getting it done in their personalities played out wonderfully with our wedding. When we have kids I want them to be in their class(es)!
Planning process: We met with Brock 3 times before the big day, and each time it was less of a song checklist and more of a discussion of how we wanted the day to go. That not only helped check off songs, but gave us clearer mental organization that ultimately helped in other realms of wedding planning. They have an online tool (“gig builder”) to help plan out the day so you can reference that throughout planning. Very helpful that we had a living document that we could look at at any time of day.
Technical: Brock and Leah know their equipment well. I’m guessing they put a lot of thought into the brand and type of speakers they use. Multiple people reflected later that the reception music was loud enough to dance to, but people didn’t feel the need to leave the room to visit. It was a detail that ended up making the reception enjoyable for young and old.
Music repository: we had some less frequently used songs for our ceremony and beginning of the reception, and wanted certain versions of some songs. They have an arsenal of various platforms to get whatever song we asked for. Even if they’d never heard of a song, they were unfazed and made sure they had it.
Sensing: we had a clear idea of music we wanted for the ceremony and beginning of the reception, but pretty much turned it over to them as soon as any “official” songs were done (wedding party entrance, cake cutting, anniversary dance, etc.). I got the sense they put a lot of energy into reading the room throughout the night. I feel like this is where some people get into trouble with DJ’s – not at all an issue here, they were great. I can’t really articulate how they did it, but they kept the energy up but also kept the focus on the crowd.
Responsive: they were responsive both throughout planning and the night of. We had a song from a Bollywood movie a friend of ours got us hooked on a few years ago, and they made it happen. The dance floor was already going great, but really lit up then! They were also on board to do the games we liked.
Conflict management: they were very straightforward about respecting a “do not play” list. We didn’t have a ton on it, but it gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing that would never be an issue.
They’re unflappable, and they think through details I’d bet a lot of DJ’s don’t. Cannot recommend them enough.

Officiant and DJ

Curtis was our Officiant at our wedding last weekend, and Ron was our DJ. They were sooo good! Curtis was absolutely perfect for our ceremony. Everything he said fit us perfectly. He was funny too! Highly Recommend - Great Experience with Curtis

Curtis did an outstanding job at our recent wedding reception! He was incredibly responsive to emails and offered to meet face to face in the days leading up to the wedding, so we were all on the same page. Our guests were appreciative of the extended speaker to be able to clearly hear the speeches in the large space. We also received many compliments about he positioned the speakers in such a way that allowed portions of the space to continue to have conversations while we cut up the dance floor. The online song request system was also very helpful as we searched through options for specific dances during the evening. He was gracious enough to even provide an encore final song for our rowdy friends.

Ron was a awesome DJ. He was very professional, worked with us on our requests, and made the day completely about us and any opinions we had or things we wanted to do he made sure it got done. He was very flexible in his schedule and came in early to set up his equipment and didn't make a fuss. He kept the party going the whole time and the dance floor was always busy. All of our guests raved about how good the music and flow was and how good the DJ was. We have been to a lot of weddings and he is one of the best DJ's I have seen. I would recommend Ron to anyone that wants a top notch DJ and great customer service.

Curtis did such an amazing job. He made us feel good about hiring him from day one by ensuring us he'd be staying in a hotel nearby the night before, and having lots of detailed questions for us to answer. It made us feel secure knowing a professional would be making sure everything would happen on time and as planned. We had multiple compliments on his fun ideas for the reception and professionalism throughout the day. My husband and I both highly recommend him. Curtis was great!! The DJ was the one thing we were very concerned about because we had been to plenty of weddings where the DJ was absolutely horrible and ruined the party. We had nothing but great things said about Curtis! He did a great job of keeping the night going with great songs. I have used Music Man productions before and was very pleased. They were the first DJ I thought of to use at our event. I had a wonderful conversation with Curtis Dean on the phone. He kept in constant contact with me and was punctual with the paperwork. Ron was our DJ. I had a wonderful experience using Music Man Productions. They know what they are doing and are confident and professional. Also, the website to request music was very user friendly. We had Curtis as our DJ and sound guy for our outdoor ceremony. We had no problems and everything went extremely smoothly and everyone could hear the musicians, the officiant, and ourselves. My husband and I recently used Music Man Productions for our wedding. Curtis was our DJ, and I can't begin to express how happy we were with his work! From the ceremony to the reception to the last dance, everything was perfect! We asked him to do some things that were unique to our day, and he accomplished our vision wonderfully. We live in Chicago and got married in Iowa, so we were really nervous that the planning would be hard while in different states. Curtis made that process so much less stressful. He was so responsive, and answered all of our questions so quickly. Curtis Dean was our dj at our wedding on 10-06-12.Personally I feel a dj can make your wedding day all the more wonderful or it can be a disaster. I am so happy Curtis was our dj! I was very nervous about booking a DJ whom we had never met before nor seen at another wedding. However, Music Man Productions far exceeded our expectations! Curtis was very helpful and followed up with us before the wedding to make sure he knew exactly what we wanted (and didn't want). He was not only a great DJ, but also acted as a MC for the entire night.

On the night of our wedding, Chris was amazing! He did a fantastic job reading our crowd and playing just the right music to keep the dance floor jam-packed with all ages the entire night! We wanted a dance party, and boy did we get one! In fact, our favorite memories from the dance floor were unscripted moments that were totally inspired by Chris--including guests serenading the bride to Boyz II Men, and the bride and groom dancing in the middle of a circle of guests to The Proclaimers. So much fun!

Our experience with Chris and Music Man Productions was especially remarkable, given the circumstances my now-husband and I found ourselves in leading up to our wedding. We had previously contracted with another DJ but panicked when they proved unresponsive--despite several calls and emails--for the month leading up to our big day. We were in a bind when we were referred to Music Man Productions, but Curtis and Chris put us at ease. Their experience and positive attitudes quickly won our confidence.

Curtis was AMAZING! He had music that kept all ages of people on the dance floor all night long. My husband and I had so many compliments on our choice of DJ because they were so impressed with him. He was open to requests, played our "Must Play" list and still made time for dollar dances, anniversary dances, etc that kept the dance party alive. We would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ!!!!

Curtis is the best DJ that I have seen at any wedding, dance, prom, ect. He was professional and really got the crowd involved. He did music for our wedding service and reception it took him less than 20 mins to reorganize the area to be ready for the dance. He was quick to respond to my emails and/or phone calls. We are very very happy with the service we received and it was at a great value. His goal was for us to enjoy our night--and we did!!

Very reliable service from music man productions. I recommend them to everyone I know getting married in Iowa. Was able to have a do not play list and also had the dance outdoors, which was no problem.

Curtis was great to work with. He gave us exactly what we had asked for. Over a year later I still have wedding guests comment to me on how fun our dance was, which in a large part was due to the music.

Our experience with musica man productions was a very positive one. My husband and I were so impressed that whenever somebody asks about a DJ service we always make sure that we mention Music Man Productions. To this day I have people now and then comment on our music at the wedding!

We used Music Man Productions at our wedding reception and were so pleased with the service. Prior to the wedding, we met with Curtis and were able to lay out what we wanted/didn't want in regards to our reception music along with planning out the order of events at the reception. Curtis was extremely helpful with his own ideas and took our suggestions as well.

Curtis and Chris (both were working at our reception) did an excellent job of using a variety of music that everyone liked (and that we suggested prior to the party)...everything from a German polka to Lady Gaga! I could definitely tell that people of all ages were really enjoying the music. In fact, they had our guests dancing late into the night!

Oh and I have to mention the fact that neither Curtis or Chris are awkward/annoying DJ's. I've attended a handful of wedding receptions where the DJ isn't able to read the crowd, and they end up creating an awkward evening for the guests. You can rest assured that if you book Music Man Productions for your reception, this won't be the case!

Seriously, book Music Man Productions. You will not be disappointed!

My husband and I got married at Gull Point State Park in Okoboji. Dean was wonderful in helping us to accommodate the outside ceremony as well as the reception. He was responsive in the planning phase and provided great entertainment during the reception. We highly recommend him.

Curtis was awesome to work with!! We had an outdoor ceremony and his set-up for the ceremony was quaint and professional - no big ugly obstructive equipment to look at. All the guests could hear the music and ceremony well.
Music was enjoyed through the dinner hour and He did a wonderful job at announcing us as we arrived and made sure the night flowed smoothly and the guests were aware of what was going on.
The dance was by FAR the best part of the night!!! Curtis worked great with us on picking songs, giving us some ideas as well as feedback and was great at getting requests playes. He had music for all ages! He even suggested 'fun activities' to do during the dancing hours (dollar dance, conga line, snowball, and many other special fun dances)
We were very happy with the services provided. He was very professional but also not afraid to get everyone to have a FUN time!! and that we did :)

Curtis Dean was great to work with. He's a very nice guy and we met once beforehand to finalize some details. He catered to our song requests and played a good variety of music. Everything went very smoothly and we had lots of compliments!

We had such an amazing wedding reception in large part because of you two! You did a great job of announcing everything before it happened so everyone knew what was going on. Everyone could hear the prayer, speeches, cake cutting.

The dance was SO fun! You guys kept the energy up and kept everyone on the dance floor. The music was fun music that everyone knows and loves.

It was great meeting with Curtis before the wedding to review all of the details and timeline. The online event planner worked great too!

We hired Music Man Productions for our daughter's wedding reception. Chris was our DJ and did a fantastic job. Everyone had a wonderful time and we even went into overtime. One of the highlights was when Chris did a break dance. We highly recommend them. Thanks again Chris and Curtis.

Rockstar DJ !!!!!!

Curtis at MusicMan Productions was AMAZING! You will not regret hiring him because he makes life so easy. He did an exceptional job playing the music during our son’s wedding ceremony and was flexible with last minute changes. During the reception the dance floor was packed all night and our guest were sad to have the party end. Easy to work with and keeps the flow going.
