Exceptional Cocktail Hour Music
We had a string duo from Music For the Moment perform at our cocktail hour at The Rockleigh, and they exceeded every expectation. Their communication leading up to the wedding was smooth and professional, and on the day of, the music was absolutely beautiful.
Guests continuously complimented the atmosphere they created. The duo played with incredible talent and added an elegant touch that made the cocktail hour feel special and memorable.
We’re so happy we chose Music For the Moment and would highly recommend them to any couple looking to elevate their wedding with live music.

Music for the moment is a company that makes your special day the most amazing one. Karen is always open for a phone call to work out any song details and gives the best advice. She went above and beyond for my husband and I to learn Hindi songs to play on the violin. When it came to our wedding day the violin version of every song sounded so beautiful. I would highly recommend using music for the moment!!

Amazing music for our ceremony
The music for our ceremony was absolutely beautiful. Music for the moment brought a string quartet and we were able to select music that we wanted for the ceremony. Communication was quick and easy and they were wonderful.

Highly recommend Music for the Moment!
My husband and I hired Music for the Moment for our wedding in September 2025. Throughout the planning process, Karen (our main point of contact) was helpful and professional, and on our wedding day, the quartet did a wonderful job. It's worth noting that the afternoon of our wedding was particularly hectic because we didn't know whether we'd be able to hold the ceremony outside (given the weather conditions) until just before it was scheduled to begin, but Music for the Moment remained flexible and calm. We were delighted that we chose to hire them -- and highly recommend that others do the same!

Live violinist and cello during wedding ceremony
Karen was absolutely amazing to work with! She had a large selection of music to choose from, but also was willing to learn and play different music not on her list. We had a couple of phone calls beforehand to go over my vision for the day, and she was incredibly patient and professional. Overall the music on the day of was absolutely beautiful and walking down the aisle to her rendition of “Turning Page”, which is one of my favorite love songs, was just as magical as I had imagined. I would definitely recommend her and her team for any event.

Helped Make my Strawberry Fields Dreams Come True!
Karen and the entire Music for the Moment team were wonderful! Booking was a breeze, Karen was very responsive and answered all my initial questions before we booked. I dreamed of walking down the aisle to a string quartet version of "Strawberry Fields Forever" by The Beatles and Karen let me know that Music for the Moment would make it happen. Their Youtube channel was a great resource for us when deciding on additional music selections. My husband and I had a consultation call a month before the wedding to go over all the final details and discuss the song lists. On the day of the wedding, the string quartet arrived on time and played beautifully. We requested a selection of 2000s/2010s music for guest arrival. Strawberry Fields sounded exactly how I always imagined on my wedding day and I loved walking back down the aisle after our "I Do's" to "When I'm Sixty-Four." We requested a selection of Beatles/60s/70s songs for the cocktail hour and had so many of our guests come up to us and compliment the quartet. If you are looking for that perfect added touch for your wedding, I would absolutely recommend Music for the Moment!

Awesome musicans & very flexible!
I reached out to them via wedding wire and they responded promptly to my messages. We spoke the rest over GMail and on the phone and Karen was very responsive. They are very friendly, reasonably priced, and played well at the wedding! We had a list of songs that we wanted specifically, from both movies and Anime, and they were very well knowledgeable for songs they were already familiar with and ones they hand not heard before. Love this vendor and definitely recommend!

I cannot recommend music for the moment enough! We reached out to them for our November 2023 wedding at the pleasantdale chateau. They were lovely to work with. Very quick to respond, accommodating with song requests, and also helped us map out our ceremony with timing. They sounded beautiful on the day of and really made our day special. Our guests also raved about them! Several guests came up to me and said they were incredible and asking for their info for their next event. I’m so happy we booked music for the moment and I would highly recommend you do too!!

We went with the string trio with Music for the Moment for our wedding ceremony as well as our cocktail hour, and they did a fantastic job! Breathtaking!
Breathtaking! We had the honor of having Music for the Moment perform at our wedding ceremony. I believe their music made a world of difference. The string quartet was so sophisticated and skilled. Not only in music, but also in aiding the movement of our wedding procession. Their timing was on point! Karen was wonderful to work with. Correspondences with her were always professional and pleasant. I requested somewhat obscure songs from Japanese animation movies, from Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle, and how magically transported they made me feel! They played Concerning Hobbits so joyously as my parents and I walked down the aisle; it truly added a little pep in my step. I reveled in them playing Gershwin’s Summertime and ever so romantic songs from West Side Story. I am so grateful for all the hard work they put into preparation for the event and I highly recommend them!

Sweet Violinist
Karen Kamp is a brilliant violinist. She has shared with me once on the phone about the history of how she became the owner of Music For The Moment and it is truly admirable. She sent my husband and I a list of songs to choose from and I felt that she was very organized. She is willing to work with you when it comes to prices — she was even willing to play for our traditional church wedding last minute although she was hired for the cocktail hour. She is such a sweetheart on the phone, via email and last but not least in person. She provided me constantly with words of encouragement and when hiring a musician for your wedding she is the kind of violinist you need. I just wish I could’ve hired a couple of violinists to play alongside her with her as the lead of course ;)

Single Violinist for small reception

Such a nice tough
I worked with Karen as a violinist for our ceremony and cocktail hour. She was incredibly nice, responsive, going above and beyond to get us an obscure song we requested. She had a large catalog of songs to offer if you aren't sure. The music was so delightful in person and well worth the experience. It really made our event extra special.

Working with Deena was a breeze. I would highly recommend using Music for the Moment. We had a cello/violin duo for our ceremony and then a pianist for our cocktail hour. Their services were very easy to use, we were able to select their services through email and were provided with an extensive list of music to choose from. We chose a few songs for the ceremony but for the rest we just selected a genre to make it easier for us. They musicians arrived nice and early the day of and were well prepared. They also performed beautifully. I would highly recommend sing Music for the Moment.

I had originally booked another string ensemble vendor for my wedding. To my dismay, they canceled just a few short months before the wedding. In a panic, I quickly read some reviews, then reached out to Deena Leff and explained the situation. She quickly confirmed availability of her musicians for my date and time, and assured me that things would run smoothly. I selected the string trio for both my ceremony music and cocktail hour. Deena provided me with a list of musical selections from which to choose, and then used her expertise to help me refine the selections to best suit my ceremony and the size of my wedding party. On the day of the wedding, the string trio performed beautifully, and the music was lovely. Our guests were so impressed with our choice of live musicians and their vast repertoire, particularly during the cocktail hour. Not only that, I have Deena to thank for my officiant! I didn’t know where to begin to find one, and one of her recommendations, based on her experience and observation at many weddings, turned out to be the perfect choice for us. In hindsight, the day my original vendor canceled on me turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because I otherwise would not have booked Music for the Moment, and we would have missed a wonderful experience. The agency, "Music for the Moment" did an exceptional job in meeting our needs for classical style music at our wedding ceremony. We requested a violinist from Deena who scheduled the musician for our event that was held in an outdoor venue, Rose Garden. The gentleman showed up early, played classical music prior to our event, and facilitated the Pachelbel Canon and Wedding March for our ceremony as the formal event started. He also played a special song during our ceremony and a beautiful selection of music following the ceremony for our guests during our formal toast.
The musician played beautifully, and in a very professional manner. We were able to make music selections from recommendations based on our preferences and the result made the event that much more romantic.
I should also mention that they were very reasonable with expected compensation in providing music for our wedding. I would highly recommend that you consider Music for the Moment for your event. You will not be disappointed.

I booked Deena for my wedding at the Liberty House in Jersey City, NJ on 03/18/2016. I chose the string quartet for my ceremony/cocktail hr and the performance was truly one to be admired. They played from various music selections such as classical, pop, r&b, soul, rock and also top 40 hits. Her team is very versatile and professional and possess an extraordinary talent of the arts. They showed up a 1/2 hr early and assured the music playlist was to my liking. I chose music sheets from a wide selection such as Otis Redding, Beatles, Lionel Richie, Elvis Presley, Alicia Keys, Pearl Jam and Nirvana for my cocktail hour. They were able to accommodate all of my music selections and had majority of the music sheets on file. Everyone who attended my wedding praised the string quartet for their amazing performance. I highly recommend Deena and her team to perform at any occasion.

Music is very important to my husband and I. So we knew we wanted to hire strings early on and have specific songs that were not too common to be played during our ceremony. Deena was so helpful and accommodating throughout our wedding planning. She worked with all music we asked for. And music for the moment played incredibly well; definitely brought me to tears several times. Quite a few of our guests commented on how lovely the strings were. We are so glad that music for the moment was a part of our wedding day.

Deena and her team, Music for the Moment, was recommended by our venue. The entire process was quite smooth. Deena is easy-going and straightforward, not much chit-chat but answers all questions with honesty. She responded emails quickly, usually within the same day. She made good suggestions about ceremony musics and worked closely with our officiant to finalize the ceremony program. On the wedding day, she and the team arrived on time. The ceremony was outdoors. It was a bit windy and chilly and the team did well. The team also performed at the cocktail hour. We didn't attend the cocktail hour but our guests all praised the performance.

I would highly recommend Music for the Moment to any and all brides. Deena was wonderful in helping us plan the music for our ceremony. She is wonderful at communicating, often responding to emails within the hour. I gave her quite an extensive list of music that I wanted played during the ceremony as well as the cocktail hour and Deena was so accommodating. The songs that they didn't already know she said they would learn. The musicians showed up early to set up and played the entire time. Everything was truly more than I could have hopped for.

A string quartet played for my ceremony and cocktail hour. They were very good and very professional. They were on time and added a beautiful element to the day. I only had a few specific songs that I wanted played and they filled in the rest with complementary pieces.

Deena and her orchestra were exquisite, professional, and a delight to work with. She returned my emails in a timely fashion and was very open to requests. She made a stressful moment so easy to deal with, to a point where I even questioned how easy it was. The music was great and they were able to make a wonderful moment, even better!

Absolutely amazing!
We had a small, intimate wedding (50 guests) at The Ryland Inn. We contacted Music for the Moment to provide a string trio to provide music for both the ceremony and the cocktail hour. From the initial contact with Deena, to music selection, and the professionalism of the trio the day of, working with Music for the Moment was a dream come true and I highly recommend it! I had selected the song A Thousand Years by Christina Perri to walk down the aisle, and everyone at the wedding said the strings were magical! During cocktail hour the music they played was just the right background for our elegant event. The sound from the trio was rich, luxurious, elegant, I even stopped and watched them during the cocktail hour- they were that good!!!! The trio arrived, set up, played marvelously and when the guests adjourned for dinner, and Music for the Moment slipped out at the end of cocktail hour. The entire experience was beautiful, professional, stress-free, and my husband and I and guests loved it!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them, and hope to use them at other events in the future!

I found Music for the Moment here on Wedding Wire and I am so glad that I chose their string quartet to perform at my wedding. After speaking to Deena, I was confident that the quartet would be money well spent . I was able to select my wedding ceremony music from an extensive list and Deena even went through great lengths to find sheet music for the song that I wanted to walk down the aisle to . I was really grateful for this! The musicians all arrived on time and the music was absolutely beautiful. All my guests were impressed and enjoyed the quartet. It was the perfect touch to my garden wedding and I would highly recommend their services for your special day!

The string music provided by this service really complemented a lovely ceremony. Many of our guests said that the musical selections added such an elegant element to our wedding. My husband and I got married at Neshanic Reformed Church in Neshanic Station, and having the string quartet just added to the beauty of the ceremony. Working with Deena was such a joy! She is quick in following up with phone calls and emails. She was able to provide suggestions based on what is used frequently as well as the type of ceremony that we were having. I am so glad that I listened to her advice! So many guests have complimented us on how great the church sounded with them. I only wish that I was able to hear more of them! (I was outside of the church until I walked up the aisle).

My wedding was a bit of a mad rush as I was moving over from London to be with my future husband. I found Deena through WeddingWire and I am so very grateful that our paths crossed! I was panicked and worried, but Deena made it all come together. She responded to my emails promptly every time and she had a plan of action. She provided me with a list of both classical and non-classical pieces to choose from. We actually booked Music for the Moment for our ceremony as well as the cocktail hour (the latter was a hit!). We went for a violin solo and the gentleman who played at our wedding was very professional, the quality of the music was great. I think the violin really added to the amazing atmosphere on our special day. I would recommend Deena and Music for the Moment to anyone, they will not let you down! :)

We had our wedding recently at The Breakers in Spring Lake, and Deena and two other lovely ladies (the string trio) played during the ceremony and reception. From the beginning, Deena was extremely responsive and accommodating. After I sent her the initial email, she called me that very afternoon. I told her that my kids, who are both musicians, wanted to sing a few songs during the ceremony and asked her if she would be willing to work with them long distance since they both live out of state. She said no problem. After that, she communicated directly with them and worked everything out. I love show tunes, and Deena asked me to send her a list of my favorites. She had them all. The music was so beautiful. I couldn't have been happier. Thank you very much Deena for making our day even more special! Michele & Tom

This is the second time I have used Music for the Moment for an event. The first time was for my Civil Union, 7 years ago and the 2nd was for my wedding just a few weeks back. Both times, I used her for the cocktail hour and the ceremony. There is nothing quite like a string trio of musicians setting the mood for the wedding party and the guests. Deena was very accommodating with my music selections which combined classical and popular (Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, Carole King). When the trio began the ceremony with "Let it be me", there wasn't a dry eye to be found. Everyone loved them and my cousin hired them for her daughters wedding.

Deena Leff of Music for the Moment was incredibly courteous and quick to respond to any email correspondence I sent her regarding my music preferences for our June 28th nuptials at The Bernards Inn.
Within an hour after reaching out to Deena via email one evening, she wrote me back explaining that she'd be able to accommodate my request for a cello and violin duo on our wedding date, describing what services would be provided and at what cost. Within three days I'd received our contract in the mail along with a sample CD of all the music that could be played at the wedding/cocktail hour.
Deena contacted me shortly before my wedding to ask for what song to play during my walk down the aisle, during the unity candle/handbinding/insert ceremonial gesture here (if we were having one), and finally what to play for the recessional.
While I could only enjoy Deena's musical compositions for a short while (we were rushed upstairs for pictures while our guests enjoyed our previous musical selections), I was VERY pleased with her work - start to finish!
Thanks so much for making our wedding that much more special, Deena!

Absolutely beautiful ensemble! We had just a violin and cello and it was just perfect. They have a lengthy list of songs available to play from classical to rock & roll. They were just awesome. Totally recommend to anyone. Deena was so easy to work with too. It made my life a lot easier with everything else going on.

We had a wonderful experience with Music for the Moment for our wedding on 5/11/14. Our wedding was on a Sunday afternoon, and we had an outdoor ceremony followed by a cocktail hour and then a reception. We had a quartet (flute, cello, viola & violin) for the ceremony & cocktails, and then had eight musicians (2 of each of the above instruments) play........it was absolutely lovely! We had a mix of classical and contemporary music, and they even played the hora (our wedding had elements of our Indian & Jewish heritage). Our guests have been so complimentary about the music -- we are still getting compliments 3 weeks later. It was very different as it was not the typical wedding DJ or band. People were able to talk and enjoy the afternoon instead of shouting over the music. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

We got the string quartet with flute for our ceremony music and we loved every single song that they played. Just thinking about it now brings tears of joy to my eyes.
