Jon & Ryan Wedding 2025
Sheryl and the MOS team were amazing! In addition to the beautiful space, we felt very taken care of before and during our wedding. The team's calm guidance and ability to quickly respond and change plans helped make what could have been a weather disaster into the most memorable wedding possible! Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are a gorgeous place to host your wedding.-

This is the perfect venue for you!
From the second we met with the staff of the museum of science and toured the venue we fell in love with the idea of having our wedding there. We were so excited to have the opportunity of an outdoor wedding under a veranda with the city of Boston in the background. It gave us the opportunity to have such fantastic photos that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. We were also thrilled that a portion of what we paid went to charity as that is so important to us!
The museum gives you so many options where you can have your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception so it is perfect for everyone. The thing we will remember the most about the museum, however, is the staff. I don’t know if I can fully put into words how lucky we were to have Sage and Sheryl. Calling Sage the lead catering manager doesn’t do it justice. She is the ultimate hype woman and cares so deeply about your experience. She was so fun to spend time with during the tasting and will always be remembered as an exciting addition to our wedding. There was a moment during our first look photos that she came over to us to ask if we needed anything and got us food. Just a little thing we did not expect that made our experience that much more enjoyable.
We met Sheryl a little later into our experience with planning the wedding at the museum. We could tell from our first conversation with her that she brought just as much energy and excitement as Sage. She was so knowledgeable about the whole wedding experience and made it much less stressful on us. Looking back on our whole experience we wouldn’t trade having them be a part of our planning for anything. We will always look back fondly on our interactions with them. I still vividly remember them being SO excited when my wife and I were walking down the aisle after our ceremony and joining us on the dance floor later in the night. I never would expect our wedding planner and caterer to be such a lively addition to our wedding. They made the best day of our lives even that much better! -

Washburn Pavilion, MOS
Our experience at Washburn Pavilion for our August wedding was nothing short of magical. From start to finish, the venue provided a breathtaking backdrop for our special day.
Brianna, the initial coordinator, was an absolute pleasure to work with. She effortlessly handled all our requests with minimal back and forth, making the planning process a breeze. Unfortunately, she left the day before our wedding, so I can't speak to the new staff, but if they follow Brianna's example, you're in good hands.
The warm summer night, accompanied by a beautiful sunset, set the perfect tone for our celebration. The venue's lawn was the ideal spot for games, adding a playful touch to the festivities. The dance floor under the twinkling lights created a romantic ambiance that enhanced the joy of the evening. If your budget allows, I highly recommend doubling the bistro lights for an even more enchanting atmosphere.
One standout aspect was the exclusive caterer, MAX, who delivered an insane culinary experience. The food was exquisite, and the service impeccable. Sage, who worked alongside MAX, was fantastic and contributed to the overall success of the event.
Despite the last-minute staff change, our wedding at Washburn Pavilion exceeded our expectations. The venue's charm, combined with the incredible team and services, made for a tremendous evening. I would undoubtedly choose Washburn Pavilion for another event and replicate the experience without hesitation. This speaks volumes about the venue's quality and its ability to host unforgettable celebrations. -

If I could give 10 stars, I would - From a Boston wedding photographer
I've told Cheryl and Lisa that they can never retire.
They are some of the best wedding coordinators that Boston has ever seen.
Let's talk about the venue itself for a second: It's the hidden waterfront gem of Boston. It has a dedicated parking garage. The catering is delicious. The spaces are so unique and each one of them has so many possibilities. Wilder Pavilion and the Blue Wing are so dang awesome.
I'm not a previous bride. I'm a Boston wedding photographer, who has been to the MOS more times than I can count. I know my way in and around all of the hallways not open to guests. I see all the crazy things that happen behind the curtain.
You won't find a more caring and competent team than at the Museum of Science. I promise.

Look no further than the MoS!!
I sing and emcee in a wedding band so when it comes to weddings, I've see them all! We did not hire a planner for our wedding since we had a good idea about what we wanted. The museum is, first of all, GORGEOUS. But beyond that, everyone we worked with was so professional, helpful, and truly cared that we (and our guests) had the most perfect wedding day. Charlotte walked us through every detail before the big day and was truly a joy to work with. She'd remind us about things we would have never thought about and offered suggestions as well as vendors who were also amazing to work with. Because of working in this industry, I'm used to taking over a wedding and making sure everyone is where they're supposed to be and things are happening on schedule. As I started to take on that roll the day of my own wedding, I quickly realized I didn't have to! Lisa, our day of coordinator, proved herself exceptionally capable and really allowed me to relax (can you imagine?!) and enjoy every moment of our wedding day. Not to mention, she saved the day being prepared with some Tide stick for my dress. Overall, I've performed in at least 40 weddings and have had a fly-on-the-wall view of how other vendors work and I have never worked with anyone as professional, organized, and wonderful as the Museum of Science team. Look no further! -

Great place to get married!
The Museum of Science Washburn Pavilion was a great place to get married! It's so beautiful that you don't even need to decorate. The MoS staff and Wolfgang Puck staff were so friendly and easy to work with. They took care of everything during the wedding, so we could just enjoy ourselves. The food was also fantastic. -

A perfect day
My wife and I would HIGHLY recommend the Museum of Science to anyone looking for a unique and beautiful wedding venue. We felt so well cared for from the very beginning. From our initial tour to our big day we were so well-supported by the event staff (and Charlotte Callahan in particular-- what a gem!). They answered our questions, supported us through the decisions we needed to make, and helped us anticipate issues that we hadn't even considered! Everything was so well-planned that we got to do what very few brides get to do on their wedding day-- celebrate! The event planning was spectacular, but it was not the only thing that was brilliant. Let me tell you about the food! It was perfect! We had some off-menu ideas that they were able to accomodate (grilled cheese bar, anyone?) and they even suggested a dessert that wasn't listed which was the hit of the party! We both agree, it was the best day and it was due in large part to the team at MoS! -

Wouldn't have changed a thing
Had an absolutely magical wedding on memorial day weekend. One of the best values in Boston for a picturesque and personalized day! Wouldn't have changed anything. Catering is fantastic, able to accommodate different styles of food. MoS points of contact are also awesome -- responsive, professional, and truly made the experience seamless. -

It has been a month since our wedding at the Museum of Science already, and I must say I still have a high feeling from it and it is all thanks to the MOS (Museum of Science) team. (With Cory in the lead for planning and Lisa in the lead for execution on the day-of).
We approached them almost a year before our wedding about wanting to have it at the MOS and from that email and on, I felt like they became our wedding dream team! From helping with ideas for the flow, to always having a check list of things needed for the day to go smoothly and all the schedules and timelines that gave people an overview of the day. I am a very organized person and I need everything confirmed, reconfirmed and in writing, but I did not need to tell them, because they were more organized than me! At no point did I feel stressed and I knew I could always just call them to go over something with the wedding or discuss any detail, small or big. My husband is in the military, so we had the additional aspect of him rarely being there for most of the planning, but I still felt safe and comfortable with the MOS. They just made it work! When I told them I wanted to have a "fancy" wedding, they immediately suggested things that could give it that vibe - even things I had not thought of myself!
Our guests still talk about how amazing the venue, the team and the planning was and I could not have done it without the MOS. They are professional, they love what they do, they care about you and your big day and it is worth every penny.
The food is from Wolfgang Puck Catering and even though it is the most "pricy" part of the wedding, it was worth it and every meal was exquisite.
They made our day perfect and even our parents mentioned how it was worth it to have it at this museum because of their planning skills, professionalism and their people.

The Museum of Science was an absolute amazing wedding venue. Cory Butler and the team have done a remarkable job, and they made the wedding planning process an absolute breeze. They have been so supportive and responsive. Wolfgang Puck Catering. I cannot begin to describe how amazing the food was. They are top class, and my husband and I couldn't be happier with our decision with the Museum of Science and Wolfgang Puck. -

The Museum of Science was a dream wedding venue. The staff (especially Sheryl!) was extremely helpful and responsive, and the day was absolutely perfect. Wolfgang Puck catered the wedding and the food was to die for. All of our guests had a great time and loved dancing the night away in such a beautiful location! I highly recommend the MOS!-

The MOS is a venue we booked 20 months out of our Memorial Day Wedding. We worked with Sheryl and Hollie. Sheryl heads the venue and Hollie heads the Wolfgang Puck Catering (ASK TO WORK WITH THEM). If I could go 6 or 7 stars I would! I dont have more then enough great things to describe about the MOS and their team of professionals. In the MOS there are several venues to choose from, we chose the outside Pavillion that overlooks the Charles River. The venue was gorgeous, even on our overcast and slightly rainy day. The rain never gets inside the the pavillion (dance floor) and there was an outside updated tent to eat in. Sheryl coordinated everything perfectly. She had backup plans incase it rained and had us all covered (literally and figuratively) incase. Hollie made sure the food was "on point". If youre Italian, ask to try to "Braised Beef" - promise you cannot go wrong. Additionally, when you look for the "best wedding", it usually comes down to the Venue, Food, atmosphere (Music and people). The MOS is responsible for the first two and their execution was flawless. For people who are looking to get pictures with Boston esc background, there is a park right across the street from the MOS which has the Boston Skyline and Zakim Bridge. Lastly, this venue is pretty affordable compared to all the venues around it. Prices havent been raised here in 7 years - or so we were told. If a guidance counselor and a nurse can raise the money themselves in 20 months, its possible. If you want stellar Boston scenery, professional staffing, 5 star food and an unforgettable once in a lifetime wedding experience that people will talk about for a long time, go with the MOS- you will NOT be disappointed. -

We could not have asked for a better experience in working with the Museum of Science and Wolfgang Puck Catering for our special day. Prior to the event Cory (MoS) and Hollie (WGP) were there every step of the way with planning to make sure that we thought of every last detail. They provided honest feedback throughout the whole process.
We truly valued partnering with them for our event. Leading up to the day and during the day we didn't have to think or worry about anything, Cory and Hollie took care of everything we needed and everything we didn't know we needed. They were even about to accommodate our last minute, night of, requests.
We felt ,and multiple guests commented, that our event could not have gone any smoother and it was the best food they ever had! Looking back on our day, if we could go back and do it again, we would not change one thing.
We would highly recommend any couple looking to plan their big day consider the Museum of Science. -

We absolutely couldn't have asked for a better wedding planning and wedding day team than Sheryl and her crew at the Museum of Science. They were always incredibly responsive to emails (both when our wedding was over a year away, and when our wedding was 24 hours away) and were top-notch professionals on the day of the wedding itself. Same goes for Hollie and her team from the Museum's in-house caterers, Wolfgang Puck. Their food was fantastic, and they worked so well with Sheryl's team that it didn't even feel like we were dealing with two separate vendors, but one well-oiled machine. The venue itself was SO MUCH FUN. We chose to go full Night at the Museum, gala style, and have our reception in the Blue Wing with the dinosaur and all our guests had fun exploring the exhibits and being all fancy in a fun, unique location. Our ceremony was in the Skyline Room and the views were gorgeous. Seriously, we are just so happy with everything related to the Museum. We highly recommend them as a wedding venue to anyone looking to have some fun! -

The MoS and Wolfgang Puck Catering team truly made our dream wedding a reality! Sheryl (MoS) and Hollie (WPC) responded to emails so promptly and had excellent suggestions and wedding event-planning experience to make the day go perfectly smoothly. Lisa (MoS day-of coordinator) was so organized and kept everything moving on time despite our large reception guest size. I really can't say enough about how Sheryl and Hollie and their teams made our dream wedding possible!! The Washburn Pavilion venue was absolutely fantastic. The Boston / Cambridge views are exceptional and we got excellent photos on the lawn with a cloudy day. The breeze off of the water made the evening weather perfect, even for a summer wedding! The food from WPC was incredible-- our families are still raving about it! We had two stations for dinner, which was organized and executed perfectly by the WPC team to feed the large group quickly. I would extremely and highly recommend the MoS and WPC team to any New England bride for an absolutely fantastic, memorable, and smooth event planning experience!! -

We chose the Museum for our reception and we would not be happier with our decision! From the moment we met Sheryl and Amber we knew that we were in good hands. We had some very specific things we wanted (open bar, delicious food, an amazing view, and convenience for our guests) and the MOS exceeded all our expectations! We hosted the bar for the entire event and the MOS has by far the best value in the city! I called every hotel and venue in the surrounding area and nobody even came close to offering all the amenities the MOS offered for the value! The food was out of this world and our guests are still talking about it almost a week later! The staff were wonderful and helpful to our guests and the process of getting everyone's parking ticket validated was seamless! We had the best day ever and are so happy with our decision to have our wedding at the MOS! -

The Boston Museum of Science was the most extraordinary and incredible wedding venue!! We looked at many non-conventional places to hold our ceremony/cocktails/reception all together in one place and NOTHING even compared to the MOS. We were married on 25Jun2016 and the ceremony/cocktail hour were outside under the Washburn Pavillion, with riverside views, and our reception was held inside the museum's Blue Wing. The event staff (fearlessly lead by the incomparable Sheryl White Vincent) were amazing every step of the way. Sheryl was so sweet and incredible to work with during the entire process, where she answered every single one of our (so many!) questions with grace and provided sound advice and guidance as to the best way to fulfill our Rock and Roll vision. Seriously, she was (alongside Keith of the museum's Wolfgang Puck Catering) the most professional vendor we worked with for our wedding, HANDS DOWN! Sheryl communicated quickly and effectively, advised wonderful changes/additions to fit how we wanted our day to unfold, and lead us through the entire wedding planning process with the calm focus of an experienced planner. Also, Sheryl's "Day-Of" event staff were helpful, observant, impeccable, and super nice to boot. A special shout-out goes out to Lisa, whose personal attention and fierce leadership the day-of kept our wedding moving along and timed perfectly the entire evening. WPC is their in-house caterer that you're required to use, but that was fine by us because their food was PHENOMENAL!! Every bite was incredibly delicious, from the cocktail hors d'oeuvres to the reception entrees, sides, and desserts. We thought it all came out simply perfect and our guests RAVED for days and weeks afterwards about everything. If you're looking for an incredibly unique venue, an UNPARALLELED event staff, and simply the best wedding venue and caterers ever, we could not recommend Boston's Museum of Science, WPC, Sheryl, and Keith more!! ***Rush is da bomb!!*** -

Under the excellent and expert Director of Events (Sheryl White Vincent), the Museum of Science is a unique, amazing and beautiful venue. The wedding took place in the Planetarium literally under the stars with our own custom music perfectly produced and coordinated by Dani. The cocktail hour took place in the Pavilion and the reception took place in the adjoining tent. This venue is along the beautiful Charles river. The photo ops (as if dinosaurs, space capsules, and a stunning multi-floor to ceiling staircase in the Museum itself isn’t enough!) are numerous and gorgeous. During the day you have the water, sun and boats…in the evening you have the moonlight on the water and the beautiful Boston skyline. The Pavilion is very weather tolerant so it takes the stress out of the weather factor. My daughter’s wedding was during the second hottest temperature in Boston history for that date. NO PROBLEM. There was a breeze by the water, large capacity fans in the tent and massive Pavilion shade. There were no issues at all.
Wolfgang Puck Catering (WPC) is the exclusive caterer for the museum. The food is excellent. Hors d’oeuvres are plentiful. WPC can accommodate any budget. Hollie from WPC is competent & accommodating. In the last 2 weeks before the wedding I wanted to add a station to the cocktail hour. WPC can do almost anything and we had trouble choosing between a bacon bar and gourmet grilled cheeses in the shape of dinosaurs. When we chose the grilled cheese option, we were pleasantly surprised to find it came with homemade tomato soup and hand cut potato chips. Everything is done with that little something extra.
I can’t say enough about the staff. Sheryl has become an honorary member of the family and Lisa (the event coordinator) is phenomenal. Her calm authoritative demeanor keeps everything on track and enjoyable. Everything about this venue had the perfect blend of fun, elegance and excellent service. I highly recommend this venue.

Working with the Museum of Science and Wolfgang Puck Catering made wedding planning effortless and fun! The team there is so organized, knowledgeable and helpful - and they truly care about their clients. We had so many questions along the way, and our Museum of Science point of contact, Katie, and Wolfgang Puck Catering Manager, Amber, were there to answer every one of them - usually within minutes! When it came to our wedding day, an entire team of coordinators were on site to help with everything we could imagine - from communicating with our vendors to setting up our place cards, finding safety pins to help a guest whose dress tore before the ceremony to packing everything up at the end so it was easy to get everything home, and so much more. They did so many things behind the scenes to keep our wedding running smoothly and on time, while we got to enjoy every moment of the day! The venue was absolutely stunning - right on the water with an incredible view of the Boston skyline - and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. We thought wedding planning was supposed to be hard, but the incredible team at the MOS and WPC truly makes it a breeze. We were so happy we chose this venue!! -

I just had my wedding here over the weekend and it was amazing. Sheryl, Amber and Lisa we incredibly professional and handled my group with a smile. They genuinely enjoy helping your wedding go off without a hitch and it truly did. Everything from the table linens to the food were just perfect. We had a beautiful view of the city as we said our vows in the Skyline room and then moving everyone into the tent went seamlessly. I had a bit of a rowdy bunch and the staff handled everything with a smile. The food received rave reviews from our guests as well. Thanks to the Museum of Science we will have many many fond memories of our wedding. -

If you look around the Boston area for a wedding venue, you will find that the Museum of Science is quite affordable for what they offer. If you are planning a small wedding, consider the Skyline Room, with its gorgeous views of the Charles River and the Boston and Cambridge skylines. The professional events and catering staff are wonderful They show that they really care in their kindness and flexibility Since weddings occur after public hours, the wedding party can have photographs taken everywhere in the museum. In addition, guests receive free parking a passes to the museum. -

Having our wedding at the museum of Science with Wolfgang Puck Catering was a decision we will never regret. Our entire experience was wonderful. We used the Washburn Pavilion outdoor event space and despite the rainy weather it was still perfect. The staff functioned as a well-oiled machine fluently changing direction with the unanticipated needs of the weather and also of the children in our wedding party. Every. Little. Detail. Was. Perfect. It was as if I had cloned myself and orchestrated every vision we had for our wedding day.
Sheryl White and Keith Mahoney are amazing. The attention and guidance that Sheryl provided allowed me to never feel overwhelmed during the planning process of our wedding, or worry that there was something I was forgetting. All of her staff and coordinators were wonderful. Porsche was an extension of both of us throughout our wedding day, always there with things that we didn't even know we needed. I had no idea how many hands Sheryl and the MOS would have on deck as our wedding coordinators. The did a stellar job.
Keith. Wow. I never expected the quality of the food to be as good as it was, let alone that every dish and detail would be cooked to perfection. How can you sear 60 cod loins to perfection at the same time? Ask Keith. He did it and still managed to serve 80 flawless short rib. We could not have been happier without our wedding menu. Throughout the planning process Keith was personal, approachable, FLEXIBLE to our ever changing needs, always pleasant and kind. The entire service staff with WPC were exceptional- Michelin quality. Keith should be proud of his staff. I personally couldn't be happier with our decision to plan our wedding with the MOS and WPC and only wish I had a reason to host another event there! -

Both Sheryl and Keith were incredibly helpful with every single nitpicky question I had. Even when I sent emails with a huge list of questions, they were thorough in responses, and if they didn't know, they told me exactly who they were contacting to find out (although this was rare, mostly related to our ceremony in the planetarium). When we met in person, the meetings were easygoing. We never felt any pressure to do anything specific, and any budgetary concerns we had were met with respect and suggested swaps/areas to save. Lisa, our day-of coordinator was also incredibly helpful. She offered suggestions to add more lighting to our planetarium ceremony without compromising the integrity of the planetarium show, and even scoured the MoS closets to look for LED pillar candles to cut down on the number we had to buy. She was precise, punctual, and detail-oriented--all of the markings of a great coordinator!
Only two 'negatives' --some guests felt like the entree portions were a little small (which is a personal preference), but the more 'serious' thing is that our bridal party missed out on the hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour because we were taking photos. We finished with about 15 minutes left of the cocktail hour and when we went upstairs, they asked the servers about the hors d'oeuvres & were told that there were no more. While the groom & I had someone bring us a plate of appetizers during the photos, it seemed unfair that they didn't bring a larger tray for the bridal party, considering that they were just as hungry.
Between Sheryl, Keith and Lisa, we were left with nothing to worry about. We've heard wonderful things from our guests about how beautiful our wedding was, how delicious our food was, and how attentive and professional the staff was. We truly feel the experience we had and gave our guests will never be beaten. At the end of the night, my husband and I left trying to figure out when we could have another party at the Museum of Science! -

We could not have been happier with the Museum of Science and Wolfgang Puck catering for our wedding. The venue was AMAZING. We booked the Washburn Pavilion and despite the day being a 95 degree day in July, by evening on the water the temperature was amazing. I cannot say enough about how beautiful the venue was - all our guests said it was the best spot in Boston to have a wedding! The museum staff was incredibly professional, and everything fell into place the day of. All the details were taken care of; we did not have to worry about anything on our wedding day - which enabled us to actually get to enjoy the reception! No need for an external wedding planner! The day of coordinator was fantastic. Our wedding could not have been set up better - all the details were exactly how I wanted them to be. It looked like a wedding out of a magazine! The museum coordinated seamlessly with our vendors. The night flowed perfectly. Anything I needed, either a member of the wait staff or a coordinator was within earshot the entire night! All in all an amazing day!! Special thanks to Sheryl and Keith for all of their help with the planning. You guys did an amazing job! Lauren and James -

Keith (Sr. Catering sales manager) was UNBELIEVABLE from start to finish with all the details. He clearly loves his job because he is very good at it.
The actual wedding went amazing. People absolutely raved about the food at the wedding saying it was not at all like regular wedding food and the best they've ever had. Naturally gluten free (lots of veggies and salads) and clearly only prime meats used. The staff was super attentive to my husband and me throughout the whole day. The venue, the views, the food and the service make this an unbeatable place for your wedding day. I received so many compliments from guests, which obviously makes you feel good with everything you put Ito your wedding day. How grateful we are to have gone with the MOS/Wolfgang puck catering. No regrets at all! -

DON'T LOOK ANY FURTHER! The Museum of Science far exceeded any expectations we had for a wedding venue. Upon arriving for our first site visit, we were blown away! Not only was the view from the Washburn Pavilion magnificent, but the warmth from Sheryl and Keith made us feel an immediate connection. Many venues we had visited felt very stuffy and it was such a breath of fresh air to visit the Museum. The team was so quick to respond to any questions or requests we had- even at night or on weekends. They were always available to talk to us and ease any worries we had. We loved the flexibility we were provided by Wolf Gang Puck and loved how we could customize every aspect of the meal.
Their list of recommended vendors was extremely helpful in assisting us in choosing amazing vendors.
The day of the wedding proved to be even more magical than we could ever imagine! Even with the rain, the staff did everything to ease our concerns and walked us through options for if we had to move the cocktail hour. The space was absolutely gorgeous and the level of service was even better. We had numerous guests comment on how great the wait staff was- their wine and water glasses were never empty! Even our pickiest of eaters commented how this was the best wedding food they have ever had and these guests have been to the top wedding venues in Boston and New York.
The Museum thinks of every detail - even repacking all of our decorations and belongings and helping load them into our car at the end of the night.
Also, there were two other weddings at the Museum the night of ours and you would never have known! It was truly remarkable - even our guests couldn't believe it.
We could not have chosen a more perfect venue - nothing could've been better!

Amazing food and service with Wolfgang Puck and the Museum of Science for our wedding, we are thrilled! On our wedding day, the food was delicious, we got many compliments from our friends and family, and everything came together beautifully. Aside from the amazing food, Keith and his team were friendly, polite, and very responsive to us and our guests - everything went very smoothly. Wolfgang Puck also set up a 'shadow' for me and my husband, a staff member who basically only waited on us all night - we had forgotten about this perk and were excited and relieved to be able to concentrate on our friends and family while our friendly shadow Thea got us drinks, trays with all hors d'oeuvres, dinner plates, cake, and coffee throughout the night. We had been very much looking forward to our guests and also the food, the Wolfgang Puck team ensured we were able to thoroughly enjoy both, and we are very grateful! The planning process was also exceptional with Wolfgang Puck and Keith. When researching venues, I reached out to over a dozen possible vendors to get info on pricing, options, budget, etc, and working with Keith was far and away the easiest. His system quickly determined what I could get for my budget and calculated details like adding tableside wine service and removing a cheese platter immediately - no waiting or endless email relays to figure out exactly what we wanted and could get for our budget! Getting our cake, etc, at the end of the reception went smoothly as well. -

The Museum of Science provided hands down the best wedding venue! The Washburn Pavilion was the perfect setting for a wedding. The covered patio was great for the evening wedding, and dinner under the tent was perfect. Cocktail tables and the bar were set up right along the Charles River, which gave us the perfect riverside cocktail hour with amazing views of the Boston skyline. After dinner, we were back under the covered patio for the ultimate outdoor dance party. The décor looked amazing and it was a perfect setting on a summer night. Everyone who attended the wedding commented on how it was great that there were so many options - under the patio, in the tent, by the river - so that there was something for everyone!
I will never be able to say enough good things about the team that coordinates and staffs the events. Sheryl White-Vincent and her staff were amazing! Sheryl responded quickly to every question and had the best suggestions to help make the day flow. Keith from Wolfgang Puck catering was great to work with - he helped us custom-design the menu to really reflect everything we wanted. Lisa Cigna was absolutely wonderful the day of the event - no request was too big, and she helped calm any nerves before the ceremony as the last minute jitters set in. The rest of the staff provided the same high quality level of service. All in all, the Event Planning group and Wolfgang Puck catering worked together to make an absolutely beautiful wedding day!
I wish I can have another event in the future that will allow me to work with this great team again! -

Our wedding ceremony took place on a November evening in the Skyline Room with a great view of Boston, followed by a cocktail reception & sit-down dinner in the Blue Wing.
What can we say? Each step of the wedding planning from the initial inquiry to the wrap-up at the end of the reception was professional, well-organized and extremely easy for us! Each staff member we contacted for the planning (Sheryl, Jessica, Lisa, Keith) were very prompt & friendly with their responses. The planning was such a smooth & fun process, it didn’t seem real compared to the stress my friends had to endure when they planned their weddings. The coordinators had great suggestions to make our event a success, generated documents to keep us on track, and handled last-minute adjustments to ensure everyone (including ourselves) had a great time! Our guests kept commenting on how fun & well run everything was throughout the evening, and all the credit really goes to how great the Museum & Wolfgang Puck catering team had everything set up! Keith did an incredible job creating a seasonal menu that was super popular with all of our guests! Everyone raved about all aspects of the meals, from the passed hors d'oeuvres to the salad, entree, and desserts. My husband and I were also well taken care of during the evening, as we had our personal “shadow” ensuring us we had the opportunity to eat throughout the evening. The attention to detail was impeccable.
Sheryl's promise to us during our initial site visit far exceeded our expectations: all we really needed to do was show up to the wedding and party--and party we did! I can't stress enough how great all staff members were, including the day-of coordinators Lisa, Tana, Chantel and Marjie who were working hard behind the scenes to set everything up. The reputation the staff have developed at the MoS and Wolfgang Puck Catering is stellar, and I'm so happy we got to celebrate our wedding at such a fabulous venue! -

We are so thankful to have had our wedding at the Museum of Science (MoS) -- such a fabulous venue! The museum’s views of both Boston and Cambridge are truly amazing. From start to finish, we truly enjoyed working with Sheryl White Vincent to plan our perfect wedding ceremony and reception! Our ceremony was held outside at the Washburn Pavilion, which is behind the museum on the river. The cocktail hour was held during sunset immediately following the ceremony. From there, we were ushered into the adjacent tent for the reception. We loved having the entire event in one location so we were able to maximize our time! The staff, led by Lisa Cigna, was completely professional and on the ball all night, flawlessly executing all phases of the event! They took excellent care of us, knowing that we were occupied to the fullest extent with our guests. They brought us our dinner (some of everything!) and checked in with us to make sure we had the drinks we wanted. Lisa even came by to see how my feet were doing and if I wanted to change into flip-flops, which I did! I should also mention that the museum contracts with Wolfgang Puck Catering for their events (and they are AWESOME). The Museum of Science is seriously the best wedding venue out there – our wedding could not have been any better! -

We had our wedding at the Museum of Science (MOS), and both the venue and the food were absolutely incredible! Throughout the evening and in the weeks following, our guests could not stop commenting on how amazing everything was. The entire process with both MOS and Wolfgang Puck Catering was very positive, and thanks to all the planning and day-of coordination, everything went smoothly, and our day was completely stress free! Would highly recommend this unique and beautiful venue! -

Sheryl and her staff ensured our wedding reception was truly outstanding. Sheryl was a pleasure to work with. She made the entire process of planning our reception extremely easy and stress-free.
The night of our actual reception Sheryl was there and made sure that everything ran smoothly. We and all our guests were extremely pleased with the food and the service.
I am so happy that we decided to have our wedding reception at MOS and catered by Wolfgang Puck and would highly recommend the venue to anyone. We booked the Skyline Room which has amazing views of the Charles River and Boston. All of our guests commented on what a beautiful room it was.
Sheryl and her onsite staff surpassed my expectations which is very hard to do (as anyone that knows me will attest that I have very high expectations which are usually not met, and seldom exceeded) and we thank them for making our special day even more amazing. I could not have asked for anything more!
I really can't say enough about how professional, helpful, attentive and organized they were. -

The Museum of Science was amazing from beginning to end. My husband and I were thrilled with everything from the planning to the execution the day-of and everything in between. It was hands-down the best wedding eve; to-die-for!!! Jessica, our wedding coordinator, was so great at helping us to plan out the details including the set-up and the flow of the day/evening. She suggested the tent for our dinner with the dance floor set up under the pavilion and the photo booth opposite the DJ. This gave our guests enough room so that we were not all cramped under the tent for everything and also to enjoy the beautiful weather and breeze of the Charles River. Keith, our catering manager for Wolfgang Puck was simply the best. He provided us suggestions for our food choices and set-up and was on-top of all of one-off requests. Especially with my last minute drink tweaks!
Both Jessica and Keith were super timely in responding to our (many) emails with questions throughout the 8+ months we worked together. From our first meeting to our last, they were so accommodating, and friendly!
The day of our wedding couldn't have gone any better. The staff was attentive and was so helpful to everyone. Our day-of planner, Lisa, was awesome!! She was everywhere, making sure we had everything we needed, including drinks at all times! Lisa made sure that we got a chance to sit down and actually eat our meals and served us our own personal appetizers during cocktail hour. The food was delicious! Even better than the tasting, with the staff cooking 200+ meals!
I wish I could relive this day over and over again. Thank you to Jessica, Keith, Lisa and everyone at the MoS for making our wedding the best day of our lives. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a perfect wedding day. Our guests still can’t stop raving about the wedding almost two months after. We can’t wait to come back and have a 5 year anniversary party!! -

We hosted our wedding in the Washburn Pavilion at the Museum of Science in August and it was amazing! We could not have asked for a better experience. The venue is the most beautiful one I have seen in Boston and we were able to have the entire wedding outside with our ceremony and our dance floor in the beautiful, open-air pavilion.
Sheryl and Lisa were our event coordinators and they were both amazing. They ensured that we had thought about every detail and that everything went smoothly day of. They both provided me with their cell numbers and were always available to help with anything.
The food was catered by Wolf Gang Puck and it was delicious. Keith and Nicole were our catering contacts and they guided us through all our food choices. The service was also fabulous. There were two bars that were both very large and efficient and there were more than enough waiters. The service was phenomenal.
I cannot recommend this venue more wholeheartedly. We had an unforgettable wedding at the MOS and I am sure that anyone else that hosts their wedding there will too! -

Floored! My husband and I were married at the Washburn Pavilion @ the MOS on August 1 and we are still not over it. Neither are our guests. Everyone is still raving… and asking us if we can get married again next weekend! First of all, PRIME location: you are on the Charles, in the heart of Boston, but it still feels quiet and private. We are a local couple, and our guests could not believe this hidden gem existed. We worked primarily with Sheryl and Keith, who are prompt and extremely professional, but more importantly fun and easy-going! Lisa, our day-of coordinator, was sweet, accommodating, and calm. What more can you ask for? The food was fantastic! The staff was INCREDIBLE! The night was perfect. I cannot say enough great things about this venue! Check it out - you will be happy you did.. and you will have the coolest, yet most elegant wedding imaginable. Countless "best wedding ever" comments. Side note: I really was not worried about ANYTHING because this team is so phenomenal, but I was concerned about humidity for an August night. I think it's safe to say the Pavilion is about 5 degrees cooler at all times due to a refreshing breeze off the Charles. It was an ideal summer wedding. My parents couldn't have been happier.. and neither could we! Thank you, MOS, for the greatest night of our lives! -

WOW!!! We were so very impressed with Museum of Science and Wolfgang Puck Catering that we wish we could get married again. I knew I’d be in good hands with MoS since our initial contact last year, but I didn’t realize the scope of their attentiveness until I experienced it first hand. With their warmth, good humor, and attention to detail, the museum staff made our day absolutely perfect. The day went off without a hitch; there wasn’t a single moment where we felt lost or confused due wholly to the care and coordination of the MoS team. The MoS team was SO impressive—the perfect blend of professionalism, expertise and fun.
Our friends and family were also super impressed with the level of organization, and keep telling us how good the food was. Our only half-regret is that we didn’t stuff ourselves silly with all of that wonderful food in anticipation of dancing later. We really, really, really hope friends and family get married at MoS so we can just park it in the corner near the good tables and eat til we fall asleep ;-) We absolutely LOVED working with Museum of Science.
Bottom line: they have weddings down to a science! Thanks, MoS, for making our wedding day the best day of our lives! -

We can't rave enough about the Museum of Science as our wedding venue!
We loved Sheryl, our coordinator, and Keith, "the man with the food". They both were incredibly professional and pleasant from the beginning to the end. We feel as if we really got to know them well and that they took the time and effort to get to know us and the things we like and did not like and really made the extra effort to make our wedding wonderful. They could not have been more flexible or accommodating and helped us through all the details (of which there were MANY) up to the day of the wedding! Any time I became "stuck" or didn't understand something, Sheryl would answer my emails immediately and would help me through it. She is fantastic at her job and we loved working with her! Her event coordinator on the actual "day of", Lisa, was wonderful in every way and even fixed the bustle button on my dress when it snapped and the train was hindering both my and others' dancing.
Our food was delicious and we had so much creating the menu with Keith, who emphasized that we could truly choose whatever we wanted! Keith helped us fine-tune the menu and even worked with his chef to create some new items that they had not previously served! On the day of, he actually assigned a staff member to help me ensure that I met my goal of tasting every item on our menu. I loved it all. The Washburn Pavilion was beautiful and proved to be both spacious and comfortable. If ever we have the chance to create any such event again, we would not hesitate to use the Museum of Science. -

I could not be happier with how our wedding at the Museum of Science turned out! We used the Skyline Room for the ceremony and the Blue Wing for the reception. From the second we met Sheryl, Keith, Lisa, and the team at MoS and Wolfgang Puck Catering, we were immediately put at ease knowing they had everything under control. They were extremely receptive and quickly responsive to emails and questions during the planning process. Any idea we had, they made come true with ease. The setting and layout was perfect and the service during the reception was extremely professional. From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations in the best way possible. -

We were really thrilled with the way that our wedding at the MoS worked out. The venue was truly beautiful - a truly amazing view of Boston that all our guests loved - and Sheryl, Keith, and their staff put together a lovely reception for us, with only very minor effort on our parts.
They day itself went flawlessly, and the MoS staff handled the odd last-minute hiccup with grace and skill - everyone was extremely organized and professional and we really did not have to worry about a single thing. We got tons of compliments on the food - which Keith figured out with minimal fuss on ours parts, and which we ourselves really really enjoyed. :) The kids loved the macaroni and cheese too - and the dinosaurs! -

I could not imagine a more perfect venue or team to work with for our wedding and reception. My wife and I had selected the Museum of Science as the venue for our reception; however, Mother Nature and our extraordinarily harsh winter had us moving the wedding ceremony indoors. The Museum was amazing during this transition and made it seem like it was no big deal although I know far more work and logistics had to be arranged with less than two weeks to our wedding date. We had our Chuppah in the Skyline Room which offered an amazing backdrop of the Charles River for our wedding ceremony. With our guests standing and sitting in the round, it was a loving, intimate space for our 100+ guests.
Our reception was held in the d'Arbeloff Suite which was FANTASTIC. The food was exceptional - we opted for stations and a cash bar since we were on a budget - and in the two weeks since the wedding, the most common thing we've heard is how delicious the food was and how everyone wished they had gone back for seconds, thirds, and even fourth servings.
The venue and food aside, and both being flawless, there literally are not enough words to express the amazingness of the staff and team at the Museum. Sheryl and Keith were my primary points of contact, but Jessica, Lisa, and the entire team made our wedding go absolutely perfect. Looking back, the day of our wedding was the single best day of our lives together so far. The day flowed seemlessly with no problems, and everyone was so kind, happy, helpful, and wonderful. During the reception itself, they made sure that both my bride and I ate well, had plenty to drink, and took time for ourselves to enjoy the day.
If I could do it all over again, I would without hesitation go back to the Museum with gusto, and for any future major events (fundraisers, etc.) that I will be planning, I will have the Museum as my top choice for venue here in the New England area.. The entire experience was incredible!!!! -

We cannot say enough to express how happy we were with the Museum of Science as a venue for our wedding. From the start, we knew we wanted a unique and entertaining venue for our guests, and the Museum has a number of great options. For our late Fall wedding, we went with both the ceremony and reception right in the middle of the Museum’s Blue Wing. Our guests were so excited to be able to explore all night long! Their staff had just an hour to set up after closing time before guests were allowed into the ceremony area, and the transformation of the space was incredible! The entire planning process was so easy on our end. Their main event coordinator actually left her position just two weeks before the wedding, but we were incredibly well taken care of despite the transition. They use a number of templates and tools that keep everything on track across coordinators. Everyone we dealt with was beyond accommodating to our every request and need, and they were always quick to respond to the questions that came up throughout the planning process. We cannot imagine being more impressed or satisfied with our wedding venue! -

The Museum of Science Boston was the most spectacular venue for our intimate ceremony and luncheon. We had our ceremony at around 1pm outside on the Charles. The day was beautiful, and the view could not have been better. It is truly unique to get married right on the water with a view of the Boston skyline, and our pictures are extraordinary. Wolfgang Puck Catering made us a spectacular vegan meal, that from start to finish was incredibly beautiful and delicious. Our guests were blown away by each and every dish. Keith and his team were so patient and thorough in working with us - the details were to die for. We had lavender flowers weaved throughout our whole day, so he made sure to incorporate it - I believe we had lavender hibiscus lemonade - yum! We then got our whole wedding (20 guests) onto a duck boat straight from the museum. It was SO much fun, and really made the whole experience so special and memorable for our guests. The entire day was magical from start to finish, thanks in no small part to a beautiful venue, a delicious meal, and Sheryl, our wonderful coordinator, who made sure that everything would be perfect for our special day. We highly recommend the Museum of Science and Wolfgang Puck Catering! -

I had my bridal shower here and it was fabulous! Even though it was a rainy day the view was great! Everyone was incredibly helpful and pleasant. When people arrived, they were greeted and brought up to the party. My mother did a lot of the communication with the Museum, but I saw the result. People also helped us load up the car after the event. -

These people don't miss anything. After first homing in on this location for its location - easily the best view in town, the curve just kept going up. My thank you letter to the entire staff below pretty well tells the story:
Keith, all of the guests commented that you guys were amazing.
Lisa was terrific. She graciously received the guests as they came in, taking care of the parking passes with impressive, quiet efficiency, and then staying quietly in the background, yet still alerting me to the important issues. Always comforting to know that Lisa was there, watching over all.
And your table servers were superlative. Standing in a circle and then delivering everyone’s entree at the same time was something marvelous to behold. Your team demonstrated that with impeccable teamwork and timing, and with extraordinary grace and poise.
And last and not least of course, were the dishes your chefs prepared and your staff served. Completely as advertised, absolutely delicious. Everyone had nothing but raves.
In sum, You, CP, and Lisa are all great salespeople and representatives of the MOS-Wolfgang Puck team. CP with her marvelous charm and personality was easily enough to close the deal for us. However, since You and Lisa we were to later discover are equally impressive.
So thanks much to all of you from Katharina and I, not to mention the now bride and groom. A job exquisitely well done.
And yes, relay same to your bosses, but equally important, please relay this thanks to your entire high-performance team. Your front line team did good indeed. If they hadn’t pulled off their ballet of synchronized, plate up, then plate down, routine, we never would have known they were there!

A family friend said our wedding was the best she'd been to in 10 years. She said everything was perfect, from the ceremony to the reception - everything! I cannot say enough about the staff, the location and just the absolute perfection of the view!
MOS Event Planner: her name is CP and I heart her. She's calm, experienced, knowledgeable, friendly, super cute and just a gem. Our day-of coordinator was Lisa and from the moment we met, I knew she'd have it all under control - and she did!
Wolfgang Puck Catering: The food was absolutely divine! Keith Mahoney, the catering manager, was so great to work with and so very accommodating with our requests and tweaks. In terms of cost, of all the places we looked, the food and bar were surprisingly affordable. Their open bar is per person, not consumption!
Ceremony: We were married in the Skyline Room which is about 3 floors up and overlooks the Charles River. We had Cambridge on one side, Boston on the other, and just as we're saying our vows, the sun is setting and casting a beautiful light upon the room. We didn't do any decorating other than paper pompoms on the chairs down the aisle. It really wasn't needed given the spectacular view.
Reception: We reserved the Blue Wing for our cocktail hour and reception. We had dinosaurs at our reception...DINOSAURS! Folks were able to meander throughout the museum and take some fun pictures and create one-of-a-kind memories. One constant bit of feedback we received was how unique the venue was which made the evening more fun and interesting.
The night went by so fast and I'm so sad it's over but have zero regrets about the venue and the food. Simply fantastic! -

When we first decided to look at the MOS, specifically, the Skyline Room, we thought we were getting ourselves into a heap of trouble. It was the first venue we looked at and we fell absolutely in love with it. With Wolfgang Puck Catering as their catering partner, we thought for sure we would be WAY over our budget for a roughly 85 guest reception. However, when we received the quotes, we were blown away and knew we didn't need to look at any other contract or venue.
The events team (huge shoutout to CP, Marjie, and Keith) at the MOS and WPC were SO unbelievably available, helpful, professional, responsive, flexible, and just all around amazing. Having a science themed wedding, with a different science at each table, I was really worried about everything pulling together (especially with the random science-y nick-nacks). The space was gorgeous and we seriously could not have pulled this wedding off without our Event Manager (CP), our Event Coordinator (Marjie), and our Catering Manager (Keith).
We have received so many compliments on how beautiful everything was at the cocktail hour and reception and how impressed everyone was with the food and staff. Everyone seemed to be just blown away with the overall experience.
Science geeks (like us) or not, if you want an affordable, delicious, and beautiful event with a WONDERFUL (insert other synonyms here) view of the Charles River and the Boston Skyline - pick the Museum of Science for your next event.

AMAZING VENUE....ECQUISITE FOOD....EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE!
We hosted an evening wedding reception for our son in the Skyline Room. Located on the top floor with two walls of glass, the venue offers spectacular views of the city and the Charles River. Guests commented that they felt they were dancing in the stars! It was gorgeous! In the 10 years I have been planning events, this experience was the most perfect. CP and Keith were not only professional, efficient, and extremely capable, they also made me feel that they were really vested in my event. From my first phone call requesting information to the moment the event concluded, everything was handled expertly and exactly as I had requested. My room design requests were extremely specific and each detail was attended to exactly. When I entered the room prior to the event, there was one small error in table setting....it was rectified immediately, with no stress to me. My design requests for the dessert buffet were executed exactly as requested as were all other instructions. I am truly impressed with their attention to detail and their ability to follow through. I have never before had such an easy time translating my vision into reality...these guys are PROS!
Working with CP on room design was a joy. Every question or request I sent her was answered immediately. Room layouts, table dimensions, counter measurements, etc....all information was emailed to me as soon as she received the request. CP not only is a wiz at what she does, but she does it all with a gracious manner and huge smile.
Since I was hosting this party for some serious foodies, the menu and quality of the food was critical. The food was high end, restaurant quality....absolutely fabulous! From the first bite of the first appetizer to the last crumb from the dessert buffet, the dining experience was exceptional!! The food and presentation was exquisite! Guests gushed all night about the food and the service....and are STILL tal -

Our wedding was perfect - everything we had hoped! CP and Keith were wonderful to work with throughout the process, and our day of coordinator, Lisa, was fantastic at both running our rehearsal and the wedding day itself. We had our ceremony in the Skyline Room, which had an amazing view of the city, and the reception in the Blue Wing, where we enjoyed great food and dancing surrounded by awesome science. Just an incredible experience all around - highly recommended for any couple with a love of science. -

Short Review:
The Museum is awesome, the food is absolutely amazing, the staff are great, and the price is reasonable for what you get.
Long Review:
The Museum of Science (MoS) and Wolfgang Puck Catering (WPC) far exceeded our expectations, and provided the perfect wedding venue for us. From our first meeting with them, we knew it was the right spot. Besides being a very cool location, both in terms of the views and inside the museum, the teams from the MoS and WPC were great to work with. A special thanks to CP and Keith for making everything go so smoothly.
Besides amazing food and venue, the main requirement I had was to not have to think of anything on the day. They did this, and for that, I am very grateful! The MoS and WPC staff made sure everything was taken care of on the day and moved along on the schedule we put together. They did it with grace and a high level of professionalism.
The ceremony and cocktail hour were in the Skyline Room, which offers excellent views of the Charles River and the Back Bay skyline. It worked perfectly, and included a small room to the side which was great to use for the bride to get ready in. The MoS staff made sure the room looked great, and our guests are still talking about the hors d'oeuvre.
The reception was in the Blue Wing, which speaks for itself as soon as you see it. Our guests are still going on about how cool of a venue it was. There are few places where you can have a party with a T-Rex in the room, a space module over head, all while still having a very classy and formal feel to it. The food and serving staff were what I would expect at a 4 star restaurant. I don't say that lightly - they were that good.
All in all, highly recommended. Even if the museum aspect doesn't excite you, the location, views, staff, and food should. -

I can't say enough about the Museum of Science as a wedding venue. It was perfect! My daughter wanted an outdoor wedding but she wanted to be in the city. She got both. It was a hot July day but with the breeze off the Charles, it was really pleasant and the setting is both unique and beautiful. It truly is a hidden gem in the heart of Boston. From the moment we contacted them, the museum staff and coordinators could not have been more helpful or pleasant to work with. I didn't have to worry about a thing and truly enjoyed every minute of the wedding. The process can be overwhelming but Keith of Wolfgang Puck Catering and CP, our museum liason, could not have made it easier. Thanks to them for a perfect day! -

We had our reception at the Wasburn Pavilion at the Museum of Science. Let me just say that for an early fall evening..the weather could not have been more perfect and with the backdrop of the Boston and Cambridge skylines as well as the Charles river, we could not have had a more impressive site! The pavilion and tent provided more than enough space for our 130 guests and with the enhanced lighting provided by my DJ, the space could not have looked more beautiful! Even my local guests never knew the place existed and were so impressed.
Keith and Sheryl were amazing to work with throughout the process. Keith with Wolfgang Puck Catering helped to form an amazing buffet menu with food so good that my guests went up for thirds! (The veggie lasagna and the sundried tomato fusilli got rave reviews from my guests).
The coordinators rented me the perfect linens for the look that I was going for, gorgeous silver chiavari chairs and I was so impressed with the modern/sophisticated wine glasses- it made me want to buy them for my home!
I cannot begin to rave about the quality of the service of the bartenders and staff during my event. They were impeccible and so impressive. I felt like everyone there wanted to make sure my husband and my wedding went off perfectly! Keith was there throughout the evening to make sure I was completely happy.
I just felt like Keith and Sheryl really wanted to make my event perfect! I highly recommend the MOS and the Wasburn Pavilion for your wedding reception. The venue and the staff are sure to impress! -

Here is the letter that I just wrote to our catering liaison and wedding coordinator after our wedding at the Museum of Science on 11/6/10. We had our ceremony in the Skyline room and our reception in the Blue Wing:
Before it gets any farther past Saturday, we just wanted to take a
minute to say thank you for all your hard work and for everything you
did to make our wedding totally amazing and absolutely perfect!!
Please pass on our thanks to everyone involved with the rehearsal and
day of coordinating, from both the MoS team and the WPC team.
Words can barely describe how incredible everything was and how happy
we are and how well everything went. If things had been half as awesome, we would have
been happy and felt we got our money's worth!!! It was absolutely the
best wedding we'd ever been to, and most of our guests seemed to
express similar sentiments. "Best wedding ever" was a phrase said to
us and our families on many occasions over the course of the evening
and since then. Everyone was wowed with the whole thing.
I feel I particularly have to mention how well organized everyone was
and how quickly, easily, and professionally small problems were
addressed. Just a few examples: when the florist had trouble getting
the chuppah to stay up properly, and things were running slightly
behind schedule, it was addressed, guests were properly wrangled, and
we were back on schedule by the beginning of the ceremony. I was so
impressed by the way entrees were delivered to each table; guests at
each table received their meal at as close to each other as humanly
possible.
Everyone raved about the food; we were expecting that but I think our
meals may have been even better than they were at the tasting!
Everything, it seemed, was carefully thought of and addressed - plenty
of things that we hadn't thought of, and believe me, I thought I had
considered every possible angle!
We absolutely felt catered to in an incredibly special way, which was
so wonderful. Everyone on staff was awesome and did their jobs not
only so well, as I've described but with a smile and clear enjoyment
in what they were doing.
I would say we would recommend the science museum to all our friends
for their special events, but most of them were there and don't need
us to say anything because they experienced the awesomeness for
themselves.
I really can not say enough but I will stop there. Generally, you
guys rock, everyone you work with rocks, we can't imagine having had a
more awesome wedding or things having been better. Totally perfect in
every way!! Thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts! -

The Museum of Science was the perfect spot for our wedding. The views from along the Charles River were beautiful and taking photos in and around the museum with the T-Rex, at the space capsule and in the energy room provided us with the unique setting we had in our minds.
The staff was spectacular throughout the entire process. They’re the kind of people in which you can have complete and total confidence that everything will be done in exactly the way you want. The museum uses Wolfgang Puck as their caterer which means you don’t have to pick your own (which we viewed as a positive…one less thing we had to worry about!). They were extremely flexible and helpful in creating a menu for the evening; for example we had Indian and Thai curries as part of the menu choices which were delicious and our guests loved! The staff working the night of the wedding was fabulous as well, which included a personal waitress for the two of us who brought us food, drinks, or whatever else we needed.
We thought the Museum of Science was an amazing venue for our wedding and we can’t recommend it enough! -

There's no question that the wedding planning team at the Museum of Science LOVE what they do and this naturally makes them fantastic at their job! My wedding was held at the Washburn Pavilion, an outside location in the heart of Boston, and it was everything I could have asked for. They coordinated with my vendors, worked with me throughout the entire year and were truly excited about every little detail on my day. They made me want to change professions and work with them and my wedding day couldn't have been more perfect.
With an outside wedding, you dread the thought of rain. I woke up the morning of and watched the weather report that a nor'easter was due to collide with another storm right about the time I said "I do". We lucked out and ended up only having minor drizzles, but I don't think it would have mattered what the sky threw our way, the team at the Museum of Science had all areas covered. They had over 50 golf umbrellas, a full staff moving things around last minute and through it all (and a very sad bride) they had smiles. -

We got married at the Washburn Pavilion, Museum of Science in August 2014. The venue is amazing, we were able to get married outside by the Charles River and enjoyed great views of the city. The staff at MOS is top-notch, they anticipated everything and got all our details right, just as we had imagined. They coordinated with our vendors seamlessly, so that we could enjoy our wedding day without having to worry about set up for the event at all. CP, who we worked with while planning our event, kept us on track and had great suggestions.
The food was great, and all our guests commented on how much they had enjoyed the meal. The catering manager, Keith, was able to accommodate our needs with the menu and put together such a great meal. Can't recommend them highly enough. -

The Museum of Science was the perfect venue for our wedding! I have no complaints. CP was organized, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. She gave us great suggestions for our wedding, and she kept us on track throughout the wedding planning process. The catering was outstanding. Keith was also pleasant and fun to work with. He was flexible about the menu and made revisions quickly and seamlessly. On our wedding day, the MOS and WPC staff were amazing. They kept us on our schedule and were just so nice and organized! MOS wedding planner: CP was very professional, comforting, and helpful throughout the entire planning process. We both felt completely support throughout the entire planning process. Marji worked with us the day of the event and she was so helpful and supportive throughout the day.
Wolfgang Puck Catering: The food was delicious! Keith Mahoney, the catering manager, was great to work with and was very helpful in answering all of the questions we may have bombarded him with. The only reason why we gave the MOS a 4.9 was because of a lack of flexibility. When you book with the MOS you must go with Wolfgang Puck Catering, which is something to think about if you have ideas about another caterer. That being said, the food was amazing and Keith was very flexible in the different kinds of foods that we wanted at the wedding.
Ceremony/Reception: We were married in the Washburn Pavilion, which is a beautiful outdoor space with two covered areas for the ceremony and reception. The weather on the day of our wedding was perfect and really highlighted the beauty of the venue. The wedding ceremony and reception were wonderful and we received so many compliments about the venue. Our wedding photos were amazing, especially those in the special locations that we chose inside the MOS.
Beautiful venue for a wedding, highly recommend it! -

The Museum of Science has many beuatiful rooms that are a bargain of a cost. You do have to use their in-house catering though but it is wolfgang puck which is okay. They provide 3 people to help on your wedding day and passes for your guests to visit the museum, both were great features. They also include tables, chairs, and dance floor. It was a real bargain and the staff that i worked with to plan it are such nice ladies. I highly reccomend them. -

Wonderful experience!
We had such a wonderful experience having our wedding at the Museum of Science and would highly recommend it to other couples who are looking for a fun and unique venue! The Washburn Pavilion is a gorgeous spot overlooking the Charles River and made a beautiful backdrop for our day. Brianna, Sage, and the rest of the team at the museum were a pleasure to work with and helped us create the wedding we envisioned. They were so responsive during our planning process and were such an amazing support the day of. The food from MAX was delicious. We also so appreciated that the caterers set aside appetizes for us to make sure that we got to enjoy the food during cocktail hour too. The team was very thoughtful every step of the way. We couldn’t recommend the Museum of Science more for your wedding or other special event! -

Dream come true
Charlotte and Lisa made our wedding perfect! Our ceremony was in the Theater of Electricity and our reception was in the Blue Wing. Charlotte was amazing and so responsive, and made sure all the details were looked after in the months leading up to the wedding, and Lisa was amazing on the day of! Lisa was so warm and reassuring and made sure that we and our families were well looked after all night! It was my dream to get married at the MoS, and the team made this dream come true. We had a lot of DIY elements, including hand made paper goods, a hand knit chuppah and wool flower centerpieces (no florist!) and nothing fazed them. All our items were carefully handled with respect and packed up well. Everybody that we worked with were great- we will recommend the MoS to everybody! -

We got married here in August 2018. The venue itself is simply gorgeous so it makes planning the other logistics a lot easier. The staff here are all very professional, and the night went on without any hiccups. Cory did a fantastic job communicating any last minute changes to her team. Alyssa also made sure all the logistics were on time throughout the night. The best part was that she was able to do this by not being intrusive at all so that the bride and I can enjoy our night with our friends. I had to think hard about how the event could have been better. I would say that while Wolfgang Puck catering did a fantastic job with the food, there could be some value in opening up the catering services to other vendors, in case other couples may prefer other cuisine from different cultures.Museum of Science's reply:
Thank you so much for your fabulous feedback Jeff!

The Museum of Science was perfect. The view was fantastic and the food was even better. We fell in love with the venue even with 6 feet of snow on the ground- our wedding was in June and turned out to be the best thing ever! The staff was fantastic and very helpful in all the planning process- no need for a wedding planner whatsoever. We couldn't have asked for a better place to get married. -

The Museum of Science was a beautiful venue for our reception, and I could not have asked more of the staff -- they were helpful, accomodating, and endlessly gracious.
We had our reception in the Skyline Room, which seats about 100 and has a fantastic view of the Charles River. Our guests were able to watch the sun set over the Charles during our cocktail hour. -

Watch out for staff turnover, otherwise, the coolest wedding ever
We knew from the start that we wanted to get married at the MoS and booked a year and a half out. How can you not want to throw the biggest party for your friends and family at the coolest venue in town? The first thing we noticed was how flexible the venue is for nearly everything. First, there are many options for ceremony/reception space at varying price points. Wolfgang Puck Catering can seemingly make you anything you want. You want a special kind of chair for your head table? They'll find it and rent it for you. (There are certain restrictions but all reasonable - e.g. no flame candles. It is a museum after all.) Even given predetermined packages, we always felt like if we really wanted something, it would happen.
We are laid-back and didn't go overboard with food, decorations, or any add-ons, and the end price was infinitely more reasonable than I could've ever imagined for this venue. Hooray! For food/venue (inclusive of all those extra fees) for a holiday weekend wedding for 130 guests, we spent a bit less than 40k. And we rented both the pavilion (ceremony) AND the blue wing (reception)! And yet, I see this venue on some lists of venues for people in the 1%. I promise you that even if you are not in the 1%, this is do-able.
The one thing that I will mention was during our planning process, we went through three different catering contacts. If I had been someone who was more easily perturbed or had more customization for food, perhaps I would've been more ticked off - especially given the last change occurred 2 months out from the wedding. But the job got done. Additionally, although our contact throughout planning was new but great, one of our day-of coordinators appeared also to be new as well and was slightly frazzled. She did end up bringing in a first aid kit for my mom's blisters, which was handy. I honestly don't remember her name, though.
Six months out and everyone (and I mean EVERYONE - from our best friends who love to dance and party to the eldest, least mobile, most traditional of our guests) keeps telling us that it was the coolest, most fun wedding ever. HIGHLY recommend doing cocktail hour in the blue wing if you can. Our guests had the most fun looking at all the exhibits during this time. All I want to do is go back to another wedding there!! -

Our Daughter’s Wedding
We were very pleased with all aspects of our daughters wedding at MOS. Sheryl and her planning crew were incredibly helpful and responsive. Always positive and upbeat which helped keep us all assured and calm. Being by the river for the ceremony (Washburn Pavilion) and cocktail hour (riverside) was a treat for our out of town guests. The dinner tent looked lovely with basic linens, flowers and LED candles. Poppy Floral made us two tall curved floral structures which first were behind the couple for the ceremony and then moved to the sweetheart table. This worked really well. The new chandeliers are lovely and we did not feel the need to do any additional lights. We chose a buffet style dinner with 3 different stations/themes and Wolfgang Puck did an amazing job with each one. There was plenty of food and things were set up so that there were no lines.
Dancing back under the Pavilion worked really well but I do wish there were a few more places for non-dancers to sit on the side lines. That and once being out of white wine for a bit at the main bar are the only things that were ever so slightly negative. From what we are hearing all 154 guests thought the food and service was excellent and the setting very usual and exciting! We highly recommend this venue!

We booked the outdoor space, the Washburn Pavilion, for our summer wedding. It was breathtaking! There are very few outdoor/tented spaces in the city center of Boston apart from a few hotels and we wanted something different. The food was incredible, Wolfgang Puck Catering. And the staff was a joy to work with! The only reason they didn't get all 5 stars is because they were not 100% flexible on certain things. That said, it was nice to work with a structured team. I trusted that they would do a remarkable job and they really did from start to finish. Thanks MOS staff! -

When we realized that the museum did weddings, we knew we’d found the perfect venue! We got to have an outdoor ceremony under the Washburn Pavilion right by the Charles River. I must admit that coming in to the lobby was a once-in-a-lifetime experience (being a bride walking around with visitors!) Our reception was held in the Skyline Room, overlooking the city. We had about 85 people, so the room size was perfect--intimate but definitely big enough for the guests to move around. The sunset from that room--we planned the time so the reception would end shortly after sunset--was truly breathtaking. We got to take pictures outside by the river and on the staircase near the lobby too, which came out great! -

We had our ceremony and reception at the Museum of Science on 10/9/10. All our guests were really excited to attend a wedding in such a unique venue. Our ceremony was in the d'Arbeloff Suite and our reception in the Skyline Room. Both rooms are very plain, but it made it easy to decorate however I wanted. It looked beautiful when all was said and done. The staff was a dream to work with, especially Sheryl White Vincent, our coordinator. I loved that the money went to the museum, and felt better about that than some hotel. All in all, it was an amazing place to get married! -

This was an incredibly fun venue for a reception, especially for kids, but also for us and our photographer. Leigh-Ann, our coordinator, was a delight to deal with and really helped us to create the day we wanted to have. The only difficulty was working out the timing with the ceremony, since the Museum can only close so early. However, they worked with us, and even we able to open another wing to entertain our guests when they showed up before the venue was ready. All in all, highly recommended! -

We wanted to get married outdoors in Boston (not a suburb) and not spend our entire life savings or next 5 years of earnings to do so. Thankfully we found the MOS -- they had the best (hands down) venue to fit our needs. Their event coordinating staff was a dream to work with before the event and, after a few hiccups on the day of, pulled off a grand event we'll remember for a lifetime. They were completely willing to work with us with all of our crazy (I mean personalization) like having our dog as a ring bearer, taking photos around the museum beforehand, and all kinds of crazy kitsch on display at the reception. If you're looking for a beautiful, well-kept secret hideaway in the middle of the city, check out the Washburn Pavilion. I can't recommend it highly enough! -

An amazing wedding venue for large groups
We loved working with the Museum of Science for our wedding! The Washburn Pavilion near the Charles River was an unexpectedly beautiful space that our guests were thrilled with.
Pros: amazing views of the Boston skyline. Professional staff & day of coordinator included in contracting, which made the planning process easy. Many of our guests told us that the food / drinks were the best they had EVER had at a wedding. Very receptive to feedback and special requests. The tent / pavilion setup is a great way to be outside but relatively protected from the elements. The breeze off the water made for a lovely summer night (it can get pretty windy). Very LGBT friendly and flexible during the planning process. Free parking for guests and easy to access on the T / by car, making the logistics fairly straightforward.
Cons: A lot of staff turnover - in the ~2 years where we had contracted a date, there were at least 4 different coordinators / caterers we cycled through, which resulted in some details getting mixed up. It did end up raining during a portion of our wedding, and although the space itself remained dry, the setup made the pavilion feel somewhat cramped and rushed (cocktail tables without centerpieces, several floral pieces moved and misplaced, etc). The duck boats continue operations during weddings, which can be somewhat distracting.
Overall we had an amazing experience and would absolutely recommend this venue.-

Science is cool
At first it seemed to me that going to the museum for a wedding is not a good idea. The museum did not make me feel like a holiday. But I was wrong. The Science Museum is an excellent place for both ordinary seeding and for holding such an event. It was even educational in some way. It made me remember from college. We often went to museums, although we didn’t have a lot of free time. Today, students have more free time thanks to online services such as https://tooly.io/. On the other hand, the writing of an essay and other works should be independent. But everyone makes this decision. My friend's wedding at the museum was a very interesting idea. It looked interesting and new. I think about doing something like this for my wedding. -

For Boston this is a good value. For an outdoor wedding, it's great! They have a pavilion under which we were married. We then moved into the tent for dinner. Spend the money to get extra lighting from a specialist or TNT Entertainment (DJ) does a great job - it makes all the difference. They are not overly flexible beyond their set menu choices and bar choices which are with Wolfgang puck, but the food was good. They were able to get the linens for me at a great price so I could get away from the white on white on white. The staff was good, but I felt as if we were asked questions a lot over the night and we really didn't need that stress. Also, they were holding our guests upstairs, but no one told us, so we seriously thought everyone was late/stuck in horrific traffic. It would have been great to be told. Also, the guest table was inside the tent, so a lot of people missed it initially going to the Pavilion and therefore missed the guest book. For all the staff, I think it could of been more organized.
Don't get me wrong though, we had a great time and it is a beautiful spot! -

I had my ceremony and reception at the Washburn Pavilion on the Charles. The venue was absolutely beautiful. The views were gorgeous and the guests all loved it. I wouldn't have had my wedding anywhere else. Lisa, one of our day of coordinators was great. CP - from the MOS and Keith from Wolfgang Puck (the exclusive caterer) were very nice to work with, but were not our coordinators on our wedding day.
That being said, there were quite a few things I was very unhappy with:
The coordinator was very nice, but we had different "day of" coordinators who we had never met.
We were told certain decorations were ok at the beginning (string lights, etc) and then 2 weeks before the wedding, were told we couldn't do them.
The MOS is extremely restrictive on what you can do for decorations.
One of the coordinators we had was extremely rude to guests and to the groom.
The "holding room" was roughly 90 degrees - too hot for us to stay in even 10 minutes before the wedding
They did not coordinate with the front desk so part of our family and some guests could not get into the MOS without us having to go get them (5 minutes before the ceremony).
We received multiple complaints on the food which was a HUGE letdown, because it was quite expensive and the tasting was great. But I will review Wolfgang Puck separately.
If you choose the MOS for a venue, make sure you know that although it's beautiful, you will be extremely limited in decorations or any "unique" ideas, you run the risk of some of the staff being rude and condescending to your guests and you will be paying A LOT for the limitations. -
