Mulberries made our dream wedding cake!

Shout-out to Kathleen at Mulberries Cake Shop for making our wedding cake dreams come true! The Brighton area can be a little iffy for queer couples, but Kathleen made us feel perfectly welcomed when we visited her shop for our cake tasting. She created a gorgeous and delicious three-tiered cake based on the ideas we sent her and sourced other desserts for us as well that all of our guests loved.

Local and flawless home bakery!

I don’t have a picture of our cake yet from our photographer, but OMG our cake looked and TASTED amazing!!!! From the very beginning, from cake tasting to the delivery and eating, it was FLAWLESS. Everyone loved our cake and we loved the option of having a pretty cake AND a sheet cake and 5 different flavors!
We come to Mulberries randomly for cookies, baked goods, and gifts! We are forever customers!

Delicious and Wonderful!

Wow oh wow! This had to be one of the hardest decisions of our wedding planning, picking cake flavors. They had so many delicious flavors it was hard to not want them all! Luckily we narrowed it down and they were incredibly flexible given COVID and were able to box up the slices with for our guests and give us a smaller intimate cutting cake. The cake was beautiful and absolutely delicious! (I might be hooked for life.)

Delicious Cake for Big Day

I found Mulberries through my search of wedding vendors. They were so flexible working to get us wedding cake samples in the height of the pandemic in April so we could make our cake decisions. All of their flavors we tasted were delicious and we had a hard time choosing. We ultimately went with red velvet cake with white cream cheese frosting. The cake and design turned out beautifully. The cake was a hit with us and our family. Kathleen incorporated our wedding flowers so beautifully into the two tiered design. I really appreciated her flexibility with us as we had originally planned for a larger cake and sheets cakes, but had to downsize due to changing our reception to immediate family only two months before the wedding. I am looking forward to ordering more cakes from Kathleen and her team for our reception next year and in the future. Highly recommended!

Beautiful Cake

I worked with Mulberries Cake Shop for my wedding cake through my venue with Wedgewood Weddings. They made everything easy and smooth. We decided on a 6 inch cake and cupcakes. Everything looked beautiful the day of the wedding. Very happy

Highly Recommend!

Mulberries was excellent to work with! It is a very small shop, but that wasn't a bad thing- it made the experience more personal. We were able to go in and do a tasting and then we were given several options for cake sizes and prices. They did their best to give us what we needed within or budget. They called two weeks before the wedding to finalize our size and design and our cake turned out beautiful and tasted amazing! I highly recommend!!!

Lovely and Delicious!

Kathleen at Mulberries Cake Shop was incredible and designed the most beautiful cake for my wedding. She even loved the cake topper I designed myself. It was so exciting to see the cake in person on my wedding day. I would highly recommend Mulberries Cake Shop to anyone wanting a very nice wedding cake.

Beautiful Tasty Cake! What more do you need?

Really lovely cake shop. We just got a small cake for us (and the Groom's mom), the made a beautiful ombre rose cake that fit our wedding colors. It was beautiful and delicious (though with all the dancing I did I wasn't craving the sugar). The tasting was a lot of fun and they worked with us on exactly how the cake should look and even provided suggestions when we didn't have a firm idea. We were able to taste samples up to the wedding to try their different flavor combinations. Our only regret is they weren't closer to our home so we could take advantage of that perk. But I would recommend this cake shop (and they were recommended to us by another couple my husband used to work with).

Mulberries Cake Shop is the only place you should go for cake!!! Everyone was so wonderful to work with and the cake is so delicious it took us four tastings before we finally chose! Our wedding guests loved our aspen tree inspired cake! The Red Velvet and Cream Cheese is to die for!!! Definitely your one stop bakery shop for your next wedding, party or event!!!

Mulberries did such an awesome job with my cake! The top layer was red velvet, middle layer was lemon poppyseed with raspberry filling and the bottom layer was vanilla/chocolate marble with a chocolate pudding filling. I showed them a picture and it was exactly what I wanted!

We opted for delicious cupcakes and a 6" cutting cake from Mulberries for our wedding, and they delivered beautiful desserts! Their head baker, Kathleen, did a marvelous job with our design idea, creating a cake with silhouettes of several major landmarks (Machu Picchu, London's Houses of Parliament, and Angkor Wat) around it and a compass on top. The mocha Bavarian cream filling inside the cake was the perfect flavor and touch. Our guests devoured all but two of the cupcakes, which we got to enjoy the next day! We were extremely happy with the service provided by Mulberries--including the delivery and cupcake stand rental for a reasonable cost.

I LOVE Mulberries!! We are sooo happy that we hired them to make our wedding cake! They made the cake exactly how I visioned and us a bride and groom cupcake. What was special about those is that my now husband is in the Airforce and wore his "blues" on our special day. I sent Mulberries a picture of his blues and his metals and they made a cupcake to match! They also made a cupcake to match my dress as well! He was surprised and I was very thankful. I highly recommend this shop!

The ladies at Mulberries were super nice, responsive, and knowledgeable. More importantly, our cake tasted great and looked *exactly* like the picture we provided. The value is unbeatable--you get a lot of bang for your buck. We're super happy with all aspects of working with Mulberries!

Mulberries provided mini cupcakes for my wedding. They provided free samples so that I could choose which flavors to mix and match, and were open to whatever type of decoration that I wanted. They let us borrow a tier for a very small charge and provided a 6" cake for the top that we could cut into. Overall a very easy experience with no drama. It was also very reasonably priced!

I have used mulberries for birthday cakes and decided to try them for my wedding cake and cupcakes. The detail in the design of the cakes is beautiful! The prices are great, low mark ups for anything with the word "wedding" in it!

We could not have been happier with our wedding cake! Having almost 200 guests at our wedding, we knew that our cake was going to have to be big, and we were not willing to sacrifice quality for quantity. And, we are so glad that we didn't. Kathleen was extremely professional throughout the planning process. She advised us on how to ensure that the cake held in the warmer summer weather, how to save some money (without our guests knowing) and even on some cake combinations we hadn't thought of yet. As soon as we tasted the cake prior to the wedding, we knew this was exactly what we wanted. The quality of our cake on our wedding day was perfect and we are still getting compliments on how great the almond poppy flavor was! We cannot wait to have our cake again on our 1 year anniversary! Thank you, Mulberries, for making such an important part of our wedding perfect!

I don't know why you would go anywhere else for a wedding cake! Mulberries did a fantastic job on our cake. They even worked hard to make it affordable for us- we had 2 tiers that were decorated styrofoam and then had decorated sheet cakes to serve to our guests. The design process was so easy- I went to the shop, showed some pictures of some ideas that I had and they drew a design for me right there. They also let us try sample after sample of cake to help us decide on our flavors! I highly recommend the almond poppyseed cake with fresh strawberry + bavarian cream filling! It was a HUGE hit at our wedding! Even the non-cake-easters loved it! Could not give any bakery a better recommendation!

We got our wedding cake from Mulberries and it was absolutely amazing! My fiance and I didn't want to spend too much money on a wedding cake, so we just went with a two tier and then had a large sheet cake to serve to all of our guests. The owner even gave us birthday cake prices because we had such a small cake, which was incredible and affordable. We were able to select any flavor combinations we wanted, and ended up going with vanilla cake/raspberry filling for the bottom tier, lemon cake and bavarian creme for the top tier, and red velvet cake/cream cheese filling for the sheet cake. The cake is moist and the frosting is smooth and buttery. Absolutely delish!

Mulberries Cake Shop was an answer to my prayers! Amazing service, DELICIOUS cakes, and such beautifully done work. Not to mention, my mouth dropped when I saw how affordable they were for such quality of service and cake decor! I am so happy we went with Mulberries for our wedding cake. I found a photo of the simplicity we wanted achieve, and Kathleen and crew made a cake even more beautiful than we could have imagined! Our guests were raving about how our cake tasted. Mulberries is also very inexpensive for the quality and customer service you will get. After going to a few different bakeries and getting discouraged on pricing, a friend of ours (also getting married) suggested Mulberries. Their prices were so much more reasonable than other bakeries. We went in for a tasting and everything tasted phenomenal. They're able to take the ideas we have and make a custom cake which we love. We can't wait to for our wedding day and for all of our guests to try Mulberries!

Our reception venue allowed my husband and I to order a couple's cake and cupcakes through a third party vendor, which helped us save some money. Our vendor went through Mulberries Cake Shop. It was our job to set up a time for a tasting with them. Initially, we had some trouble getting a hold of them (we left several messages), but once we were able to talk to a person the communication was much better. Kathleen's cakes blew us away! The samples she provided were amazing! We ended up choosing a pecan cream cheese for the couple's cake, and lemon and marble for the guest cupcakes. We had no clue what kind of design we wanted, and Kathleen was able to help us brainstorm and come up with a cute design. Plus they will provide you with an anniversary cake for free, so we were able to enjoy our couple's cake instead of letting it sit in the freezer for a year! Can't wait to have an occasion to order another cake!

At our cake tasting, the first thing my husband said was "this is the best cake I've ever had"
Mulberries was so much fun to work with, we weren't sure what design we wanted on our cupcakes, so we told them to just be creative and do whatever they wanted! They turned out beautiful and everyone was raving about how delicious they were. Our little wedding cake to cut turned out exactly how I wanted. I couldn't be happier with our experience here! Will be coming back for birthdays and many other holidays to come!

My wedding was 12/13/14 and I came into the shop two weeks prior and placed my order. I meet with the shop owner Kathleen who came up with a gorgeous cake design and ideas. Everyone at Mulberries was so helpful and friendly! We went in for a cupcake, and then decided to have a consultation. The cake samples they gave us were actual slices of cake, as opposed to just a sliver. The flavors were amazing, and they were very willing to work with us on our budget, and even gave us multiple options for cake, cupcakes, etc. that would fit within our budget. They took note of the decorations at the consultation, and when we called to confirm, they already knew exactly what we wanted! Our venue was not far from Mulberries and they even comped us the delivery fee! Not only that, but the cake arrived right on time, and looked wonderful! Everyone complimented the flavors (marble with chocolate pudding filling and lemon-poppyseed with raspberry filling), even people who normally aren't fans of fruit in their cake. We will definitely continue to go to Mulberries for our cakes!

Mulberries is hands down the best cake bakery in Denver! They provided our wedding cake for our June 2014 wedding and we couldn't be more pleased with the product. Their flavor options are the most delicious in town and the frosting is outta sight! They allowed us several tastings so we could be sure we picked the right combo and Kathleen was a real pleasure to work with. We will definitely be ordering cake/cupcakes from Mulberries in the future and are looking forward to our 1 year anniversary to get our topper from them to celebrate!

We wanted a special cake for a fun wedding reception celebration. I have an annual Hippie Party every year that we turned into a fun, albiet a bit irreverent celebration. The cake Mulberries designed was genius...a work of culinary and visual art! I couldn't have been happier.

After tasting cakes at 5 bakeries, we hands down picked Mulberries Cake Shop in Denver, CO. The cakes were delicious, their designs were up to date and their prices were competitive. We loved the finished product on the day of our wedding! Our cake was delicious and beautiful!

Mulberries has been my favorite cakeshop since my mom discovered it almost a decade ago. I request it for every birthday and holiday possible. Not only is their cake the best in Denver, but their family run business makes you feel like family as well. They have so many choices for flavors and fillings so every cake lovers desires are met. Beyond taste, their cakes are also unique and beautiful. Our cake was perfect in its simplicity and delicacy. They also deliver and were on time! The best part though is that on our one year anniversary they will remake our cake top so we don't have to take up freezer space in the meantime. Their prices are incredible and your guests will be beyond happy!

Mulberries was fabulous! Their cakes are delicious and even though I wasn't exactly sure what design I wanted on our cake they definitely did a great job it looked amazing! I loved how they allow you to try as many flavor combinations leading up to your event so you will know exactly how your cake is going to taste and it was delicious so moist and the frosting was creamy and delicious!! Love their cakes!!

Our wedding cake was absolutely perfect. We took advantage of the opportunity to taste many (if not all) of Mulberries cake flavors in our quest to choose seven flavors for our wedding cakes. Every flavor was delicious.

Our guests loved the uniqueness of our cakes and enjoyed tasting multiple flavors at the wedding. Yes, many of the guests had multiple pieces of cake. We hosted a family picnic the day after the wedding. We enjoyed the leftover wedding cake, still very fresh and moist, at the picnic.

Kathy the owner at Mulberries was great! They let us try as many flavors as we wanted whenever we wanted. We could just call ahead and they would let us pick up 3-4 different pieces of cake to take home and try. They made us such a beautiful cake and the price for the cake was about a third of all the other bakeries I checked out. They delivered the cake on time and it looked just like the pictured I showed them!

Everyone at Mulberries is so nice and easy to work with. Great tasting session set-up, they were only my second appointment and I signed my contract before I had even finished the last of the samples they had set out. Moist, delicious cake. They matched the fresh flower arrangement on the top of the cake to my wedding theme just like I wanted. Best chocolate cake EVER!!

I didn't want a really fancy/structured cake and Mulberries did a wonderful job. I brought in one photo and they made a near-exact match. Flavor was great, too. I along with my mom and mother-in-law went in for the tasting and everyone was so welcoming - so I would suggest trying it out. Maybe don't go with the lemon cake. I had a summer wedding and thought lemon would be nice but during the tasting, it kind of just tasted like box cake. The other flavors were great ... almond was the best!

No other cake will ever compare and we will never go anywhere else but Mulberries from now on. I don't even typically like cake, but I could eat this every day. We loved working with them, our cake was beautiful, and it was the best tasting cake we have ever had. We received many many compliments. It was also the cheapest place we looked. The cake was nearly $400 below our budgeted price. It doesn't get any better than this.

Mulberries was wonderful to work with! They provided complimentary and unlimited cake tastings--which was very helpful! Their cakes are absolutely delicious and they offer many different flavors to choose from.
Kathleen designed a beautiful cake--exactly what I specified at our consultation--and she helped me get the best price for my large group. She was honest and did what was best for us--not what would make Mulberries the most money. You definitely get the most bang for your buck with Mulberries! I highly recommend them and would use them again in the future!

Kathleen and the staff at Mulberries were so great to work with and they helped us design a beautilful and DELICIOUS cake (not that we actually ate any during the reception!). One of the best parts of getting our cake at Mulberries was the unlimited samples we got to try in the months leading up to our wedding. The amount of cake and frosting combos that you can pick is huge and everything we tried was soooooooo good. Mulberries sucked me in as a customer for life (try their cookies and cupcakes while you're there)! Once we made our order, everything else was taken care of. I didn't have to worry about the cake being delivered and set up-everything went just as scheduled. Mulberries is a great choice!

I can't recommend Mulberries highly enough! They were easy to work with, professional, friendly, and very affordable -- especially considering the quality of their cakes. They did two flavors of cake for us (lemon with fresh raspberry filling and marble with chocolate pudding filling) and our guests raved about both. The only complaint I heard was that some people wanted seconds faster than the caterer could cut them! I can't wait to go back for our first anniversary cake.

I booked them from a recommendation from a friend... and I was glad I took their advice because all of my wedding guests said that our wedding cake was the best they had ever had! We did a simple two layer bavarian cream cake with lemon butter cream frosting for 45 people! It all got eaten!

This is the best wedding cake shop in Denver. Hands down! I took them a picture of the cake I wanted and they replicated it perfectly. The cake was absolutely delicious and the icinig was perfect.

Our wedding cake from Mulberries was fantastic! Not only was it pretty to look at, but it tasted wonderful too. We requested a cake that looked like a winding mountain road and had a cake topper with a wedding couple camping. It turned out perfectly and everyone was very impressed with the artistry. What an amazing cake! This was the one aspect of the wedding I felt I would have gone bridezilla on but Mulberries did such an amazing job! They took my vision and turned it into reality! They only work with buttercream frosting (which was a huge deal for me) and the work they did was spectacular! Our guests were so impressed with our cake and had no idea that each of our tiers were different flavors!! The cake was so moist and fluffy and delicious fillings it really was a perfect ending to an amazing wedding! Or should I say honeymoon with all the cake we had to spare!

We had two cakes and a bunch of cupcakes from Mulberries for our wedding. First of all, the consultation and tasting with Kathleen was so much fun. We were very impressed with absolutely everything. I spoke to Kathleen about 2 weeks before my wedding to firm up details and flavors and she was so accommodating and didn't charge us anything additional to do the "extra" stuff we wanted to do. (Multiple flavors and colors and decor) Best of all - it was the best cake I've ever had. (My husband and I did Bride and Groom cupcakes to ensure we got a piece of cake!) And, I had more compliments about the cake than anything else. My guests LOVED it!!! I highly recommend Mulberries! Get the almond poppyseed - I promise you will NOT be disappointed!!!

Mulberries was absolutely fantastic! I was on a very tight timeframe and did not get around to actually thinking about cake until two weeks before the wedding - the staff at Mulberries bent over backwards to help me select the cake, size and type and taste in my timeframe.

The cake was delicious (I recommend the butter pecan with cream cheese) and the service outstanding. I would send my best friend there anytime.

Wedding cake

We met with Kathleen to discuss our wedding cake and she was very nice and loved our idea to create a simple blue ombre cake. However, the cake we received looked like they forgot to decorate it, with just a blue strip on the very bottom of a white cake. The inside tasted great but the design was nowhere near what was discussed. Mulberries did send us a nice gift card as an apology though.

We picked Mulberries because the cake was absolutely delicious, and they don't use fondant (blech) but the cakes are still smooth and pristine. I had a little difficulty getting them to call me back at one point, and the official cake tasting seemed a little rushed and chaotic, otherwise the whole thing went very smoothly. They indulged me multiple times when I requested extra cake tastings because I couldn't make up my mind, sending me home with a barrage of cake slices to help. Delivery was on time and I didn't have to worry about it at all. I even changed the entire look of the cake decorations less than a week before the wedding, and they rolled with it! It ended up looking perfect and tasting divine.

Mulberries was very resonable and the cake was SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOD!!! The only thing was they never answered the phone. I work very close to this venue so I would walk to them on my lunch break:) They were always helpful and friendly. They let you sample cake in any flavor up until two weeks before the wedding. I did not sample a lot of flavors I did not want to gain weight before my wedding;) But all of the flavors that I did try were awesome!!

I loved my cake, and so did my guests. Just one glitch, they delivered my cake to the wrong wedding. Fortunately, the other wedding was at my same location, but in a different area. It was just nerve wracking for the caterer to have to carry the cake quite a distance over outdoor garden areas.

However, as I mentioned, the cake was wonderful and made exactly as I ordered it. I would still chose Mulberries in the future.

I love Mulberries Cake Shop! The only downside is that they're difficult to get ahold of. Typically you have to call a few times before you get an answer - and you want to talk to them personally, leaving a message won't get you far. Other than that, once we had our cake tasting everything was great! We booked our date, described what we wanted - and we got all the sample cakes our little hearts desired to make sure we got exactly the cake flavor combinations we wanted! I'm blown away with how skilled the decorators are - they don't use fondant (which is a HUGE plus, I hate the way it tastes) but they still manage to make stunning cakes! Everyone loved the flavors and the cake fit our "nature" theme perfectly. I would absolutely recommend Mulberries Cake shop for any of your bakery needs (and I do!!!) :)

The cake we picked up for our wedding was not correct. We ordered a full sheet that was supposed to be half & half and have scroll work on the icing to match our cupcakes & round cake. It did not. Our cupcakes were supposed to have been filled, & they were not. I had to repeat my order to them 3 different times & still it was wrong. That part was frustrating. However, their cakes are simply to die for! Any flavor you choose, you are sure to be pleased with. The service is great but could be a bit faster to reply back to the messages you leave. As soon as I informed the owner of the shop that our order was not correct, she quickly refunded a portion of our payment & apologized for the mix up. That made us feel really good and we will be eager to do business with Mulberries again. The pricing is very reasonable for any budget and I highly recommend them for any occasion. The order mix up was a bummer but the fact that the owner was quick to rectify the matter is what makes Mulberries a wonderful business.

The only reason I gave them 3.5/5 on Responsiveness is because they almost never answer their phone so you have to leave a message but they always called me back within a day. Also, pricing was super reasonable...we went with a three-tier cake that had two false layers and our guests were served from a sheet cake. We used Mulberries for cupcakes for our bridal shower and party after the wedding. They make the most adorable cupcakes. At $1.50 a piece, it is also quite a bargain compared with paying for cake. Everything was super tasty and we got many compliments.

DO NOT USE THIS VENDOR. I placed an order with them for a wedding cake and cupcakes. There were 4 different designs that I gave them pictures of - they said they could easily recreate the simple icing styles I was asking for. I wasn't asking for anything fancy but I gave them pictures so they couldn't misunderstand what I wanted. The icing that they delivered to my wedding looked like a novice did it. The small cake was to be gold smeared icing. They delivered a YELLOW cake. My sister-in-law owns a dessert company (and did my setup for the wedding's dessert table) and I know exactly what it takes to make icing gold - they promised me they could make my cake gold without a problem. The cake was mustard yellow and not properly iced. Instead of a smeared look... it just looked like a child iced it. I was so embarrassed. The cake was also sitting on a thick cardboard disc that couldn't be removed - this was never mentioned to me when I signed a contract but my SIL had to place the cake and it's ugly cardboard foot on the cake stand. She was prepared to slide the small cake off (as she does in her profession often) but they had cemented the cake to the cardboard foot. It was a disgrace.

They are incredibly hard to get ahold of. They always seemed very distracted in our meetings. Although they promised flexibility they did not deliver. They seem SO busy all the time but I think it's for kid's birthday parties. Don't be fooled by their books of past work... they are clearly not putting out that quality work. I have tried to get ahold of them many times since my wedding to find out what could have happened with my order with NO response. I told them I didn't want to give them bad reviews if we could just talk about it but if they are going to ignore me then bad reviews it will be. I don't want this to happen to another bride!

To be fair their prices are good (for poor quality) and their cakes taste good.
