Patrice and her team are so talented. Patrice did my bridal makeup and Madison & Frankie did all my girls and they all looked fabulous (and our makeup somehow looked exactly the same at the very end of the night!). The minute I spoke with Patrice, I knew this was the right company for me. Her work speaks for itself, but minute I actually spoke with Patrice, I knew this was the right company for me. She is seriously so much fun, she was 100% my hype woman the whole morning. The energy she brings is impeccable. It is impossible to have stressful thoughts when this team is in the room.
What I really loved is just how attentive and organized she is. This is someone who really cares about every person she works with. She encourages full honesty in the trial process and made great suggestions to enhance my skincare routine to ensure the makeup held up to its fullest potential on the wedding day.
Patrice, Madison, & Frankie - thank you guys for the best makeup experience I could have asked for! -

Patrice and her team are excellent. The whole hair/make up/spray tan process was made so easy. They are responsive and fun. I am typically a low maintenance person and they did a great job of helping me figure out what I want and feel great on my wedding day. We also had a range of hair textures/styles for the bridal party and they did such a great job. Would definitely recommend to any Philly brides! -

Patrice was incredible to work with! Two things stood out the most: first, she was such a wonderful presence the morning of my wedding. We wanted to be calm and joyful with a small group, and she helped cultivate that vibe. Second, it was so easy to communicate the few changes I wanted to make after the trial. The final look was so perfect, I've never felt more beautiful. Also she swore my oil was going to be controlled and she DELIVERED. My face was matte without looking dry and perfect all night. Would recommend to everyone! -

Finding the perfect hair and makeup artists for your wedding is such a stressful process because every bride wants their look to be perfect. I am beyond thankful that I had the MU8 team to deliver the most gorgeous looks for me and my girls on my wedding day! I knew from the first call I had with Patrice that her team would be experienced professionals and they would bring the fun and relaxing vibe that all brides deserve on their wedding day. To say that my hair was a dream would be an understatement! Sammi absolutely killed it and my gorgeous glam waves lasted all night. Brielle was our makeup artist and if I could have her do my makeup for every event or wedding I go to from here on out, I would. My makeup was flawless and didn’t budge through my tears or standing in the hot sun during my ceremony. Patrice and her team were also very flexible when I had a few last minute add-ons (hair and makeup for my MIL) the night before the wedding. If you’re a bride in the Philly area, you will not find a better team to make you look and feel your best on your wedding day! -

I wholeheartedly recommend MU8 for hair and makeup for your wedding!! I also did the facial package leading up to my big day and my skin has never looked so flawless. Patrice is such an awesome person, she makes you feel right at home right off the bat and will be your biggest cheerleader!! Women uplifting women!! My girls and I looked so breathtaking on my husband and my wedding day. On the day of, I initially did not feel that my makeup compared to my trial and my makeup artist Madison made sure she fixed it and I felt my most beautiful! I could not have asked for a better team (Madison for makeup and Bridget for hair) and you could not ask for a better group of women to take care of you on your big day!
My only advice would be to possibly ask them for a larger amount of lipstick for the makeup rescue kit because the amount you receive is very small to cover the whole lip more than once so I rationed it out and ended up without lip color in most of my photos. Still looked beautiful though! I honestly would have bought the lip color from them if they had had it available!! I may just have to reach out and ask them so I can buy it myself! Most of these photos are from my trial day because I don't have most of my wedding photos back yet. -

Patrice and her team of bridal beauty experts are not only amazing at their work but also so fun and provide THE best vibe on your trial and wedding day. It makes such a difference to have a team that is so positive, uplifting, and makes you laugh through the nerves on the big day. I am obsessed with my makeup (by Patrice) and hair (by Yuliia) and all my bridesmaids loved their looks as well! They were able to cater to a range of natural to soft glam makeup for my bridesmaids with ease and nailed all the hairstyles that my girls wanted. Now that we are post-wedding I am sad because I loved hanging out with Patrice and her team so much! Thank you MU8 team for my gorgeous glam on the best day of my life!! -

A vendor hit!!
MU8 not only met my expectations, they far surpassed and exceeded them! Yes, the hair and makeup on myself and my bridesmaids, my mom, and mom in law was incredible, but I think what makes Madison, Yuliia, and Patrice extra special is how they carry themselves and set the tone for the day. They all arrived early, set up and finished ahead of schedule. Their demeanors eased us all into the day and started the day off on the right foot. They made us all feel calm and relaxed at the start of the day and had us laughing the whole time! This enabled me to carry that calm and lightheartedness throughout the day, by making the first part of it go flawlessly. I have never felt more beautiful and judging by my friends’ reactions, I could say the same for them. I also appreciate that the team was able to work on diverse hair textures and skin textures and colors. Everyone looked amazing! Finally, I appreciate that any feedback I gave after the trial and adjustments my bridesmaids wanted to make were quickly acknowledged and adjusted so that everyone could feel their best and like themselves. Thank you for an incredible day! -

Seeing Patrice first thing on wedding day immediately put me at ease - from helping us configure the getting ready space to wedding pep talks, I’m so glad she was a part of our day! Her crew of two makeup artists and two hair stylists showed up early, with great energy. I really appreciated how Patrice was so communicative throughout the process. I was nervous finding a MUA for my wedding party because my girls represent a diverse group of skin tones, skin textures, hair types, and styles. Patrice was only person I found where I felt like I could trust her to make all of my girls feel their best. I opted to do a trial run with my natural culrs and I’m so glad I did! My MIL followed me around with her camera phone all day when she saw my trial makeup, and I was also able to communicate some changes I wanted in eye shadow color and curl pattern, which Patrice executed FLAWLESSLY on wedding day. My makeup stayed put all day, and my curls even looked ready to go the following morning for post-wedding festivities. I would highly recommend Patrice and MU8 in general! -

I'm so glad I worked with MU8 for my wedding! Patrice, Yuliia, and Madison did excellent work with our hair and makeup across a range of skin tones and hair types. My makeup held up in the August heat through lots of dancing and happy tears. Patrice is a wonderful person, and she brought the best vibes to our getting-ready room. I also saw Patrice for facials leading up to the wedding. She customized each one to my needs, offered skincare advice, and made me feel welcomed and at ease. I cannot thank Patrice and her team enough for an incredible job in transforming my I Do Crew and I into straight goddesses. We had a diverse range of ages, skin textures and tones to contend with, but Patrice and Sarah did an exceptional job getting to know everyone's preferences and vision for their look. My mother-in-law, a tough banana who typically wears little to no makeup and speaks no English, was so pleased with Sarah's work she asked that I translate how much she loved it. There are seemingly endless options when it comes to bridal makeup. I've had bridal makeup done before as a bridesmaid and can honestly say there is no other artist who has made me feel as comfortable in my own skin as Patrice and her team have. They are the first people you see in the morning and set the tone for the day. I could not be more grateful to have had them as part of my special day. Thank you! -

Patrice, Frankie and Genessa did an amazing job helping me and my entourage get ready for our big day! Patrice was super wonderful and responsive in the lead-up to the wedding and made organizing the details very easy, from the hair/makeup trial a couple of months beforehand (recommended) to the morning itself, despite the numerous changes and general chaos that comes with any big event. My entourage was large and very diverse, but everyone was loved how their makeup turned out. I loved my bridal hair and makeup and haven't felt that glamorous in well, ever. Highly recommend! -

I am so happy I selected MU8 Bridal Beauty. Patrice made the entire process seamless and fun. From the makeup trial leading up to the wedding, Patrice was happy to answer every question I had, and even worked with me when I had a last minute addition to my bridal party. I'm not one for being to glammed up and wanted my wedding makeup to look as natural as possible. Patrice did not disappoint and I couldn't of been happier with how me and my ladies turned out. I really appreciated how above and beyond Patrice went. She not only works with you on your makeup look but works with you on your overall skincare routine to ensure beautiful skin beyond makeup. I also love that she leaves you with some goodies (the cookies were delicious) and necessities to make sure you look beautiful throughout the day. Patrice made me feel like the most beautiful bride on my wedding day. She was extremely professional, communicative, asked all the right questions (ones I never would have thought of!), and was an amazing listener. She took feedback from our conversations and the makeup trial and executed the exact vision that I had hoped for; I couldn’t have asked for a better bridal hair & makeup experience. Based on previous experiences with having my makeup professionally done in the past, I was worried about complexion matching for my skin tone and application of eye makeup for my eye shape, but Patrice put those fears to rest. On my wedding day she provided a calming presence and positive attitude, which is exactly what I needed, and I feel incredibly lucky to have found her! -

Natural but yet Stunning

Patrice was absolutely amazing. She did the make up for my sister in law’s wedding party and was a light of sunshine all morning while we got ready. HIRE HER! Trust me you will not regret it. Patrice is phenomenal at what she does, is extremely knowledgeable, and has the most amazing personality. When looking to hire a makeup artist for my wedding this past October I knew I wanted someone who is not only great at their job but also just had the personality that makes you feel at ease. Patrice help set the lighthearted tone of my bridal get ready suite and helped me remain calm throughout the whole process. She has an incredibly open personality and loves feedback. I have been asked countless times by my friends as to who did my make up for my wedding and have and will always recommend Patrice. My three-year-old nephew still talks about how I am a princess because of how beautiful I looked at my wedding. My make up did not move an inch the entire night. She also managed to do four bridesmaids and my mothers make up and has incredible time management. Amazing job, and I look forward to working with her again in the future. -

Bridal Makeup - 10/10!!!
Patrice saved me on my wedding day and my makeup was so amazing! I had originally booked my makeup through the salon that my bridal party and I were getting our hair done at. As I live 5 hours from where we were getting married, I only had one weekend to come home for my hair/make up trial, just a few weeks before the wedding. Long story short, I hated the make up that was done at the salon - I felt like they didn’t listen to what I wanted and it made me break out like crazy. Fast forward to me reaching out to Patrice a few weeks before my wedding day, frantic to find someone to help me. Patrice was amazing from the start and was super flexible in accommodating me in such short notice. We never got to do a trial, but she listened to exactly what I was thinking and made it happen. Patrice is so kind in her interactions with me, the venue and staff, and my bridal party. Her professionalism, talent, and passion are apparent in her work and she made me feel the most beautiful on my wedding day! My makeup also was flawless all day long, even into the night when the dancing was nonstop. -

Maid of Honor in distress
So my good friend was supposed to do my maid of honor makeup but cancelled on me a day or two before the wedding. I contacted Patrice (after many people recommended her) and she was free and able to fit me in super last minute. She came to my house and was super friendly, very professional and made me look absolutely flawless. Couldn’t recommend her enough! -

I found Patrice on WeddingWire a few months back. I visited her website (and stalked her instagram lol) and loved her work. When I first contacted her, she was immediately responsive and you could tell from her emails how passionate she was about her work. The trial we did was fantastic - she made me feel right at ease like we were old friends and did a phenomenal job on my makeup. We kept in contact, she was all set up and ready to go the day of our wedding, and everyone she touched looked phenomenal. She enhanced the beauty that we all have, and we got compliments the entire night. It was so hard for me to take my makeup off that night because it still looked flawless (even after I cried a few times!)
I would recommend Patrice over and over again, and would have her do my makeup again in a heartbeat. Thank you for being such a wonderful part of our day!! -

Patrice is the best in the business!
I was having trouble finding a hair and makeup team that would work with my small party (just myself and my maid of honor) when I found Patrice at MU8 right in my neighborhood. But I am so glad I found her! She allowed us to come to the studio to cut down on costs, and also worked with me to add my sister-in-law to the group later down the line. She is so sweet and fun to work with, and she is a master at her craft. She did my hair which turned out exactly as I had envisioned and lasted all day and night even though I was dancing for hours in the August heat. Frankie did my makeup and my skin has never looked better. She is seriously a magician. They were both fantastic to work with and great at what they do. I couldn't ask for more! -

Trial day right off the bat, vibes were just off. She took my shyness for dissatisfaction. I promised her I was excited to be there, just shy. There was a questionnaire prior. At the start of our trial, she had me elaborate on what I liked about my inspo pics and details I am most self-conscious about. After all of that… we were not on the same page. The trial exceeded 4 hrs and we were not happy by the end of it. She would ask if I wanted any adjustments throughout, and the fact that I did many times did not seem to go over well. There were times I’d ask to pull up the pics bc we were getting off track and in my attempts to communicate, I felt that I was ruining our rapport. I tried to strike convo to lighten the mood. Didn’t seem to like it when I asked her about products used and her exp in the industry. I was just trying to make convo. I didn’t mean anything by it. Worst thing I could do was offend the person doing my face for my wedding. She made a statement about me knowing a lot about makeup and asked why I didn’t just do it myself. 😭? I was struggling so hard to get on the right foot with her.
I asked for a warm, monochrome look. The eyes w the illusion of a single wash of color. Winged eyeliner. For hair, just big, voluminous curls. But, trial day, I got cool-toned eyeshadow with dark outer corners and a loose version of Hollywood waves made with a 1” barrel. Before she touched my hair, I asked if she had a larger size and if we could see the pic again. She insisted that the small barrel would achieve the look I asked for and went into her zone prepping, heating, and setting each curl. I didn’t dare to stop her. I left this trial feeling defeated, esp knowing how much money I committed to my contract. Got me so down, man. That trial alone was $300. It was not what I wanted. Not to mention the flaws in blending, setting, and symmetry I was afraid to mention. I am getting so sad typing this. The second I got home I wrote a detailed email to apologize, explain what I wanted, point out things I liked. She responded, onboard with the adjustments.
Right after trial, she posted a vid of me looking so miserable in that chair. She told me to look ahead so that she could get ref pics and vids for the day. I knew that in signing my contract, I signed up for that, but a heads up would’ve been nice. And even days after, I felt that some of the vids posted were referencing our appt together. In one, she urged brides to be realistic with ref pics, similar natural features to you, be aware of photoshop, etc. Okay, agreed. But, she also went on to say to pull insp from your vendor’s page from a model w similar features to you. Well, not much for me to choose from them. But, I booked bc I trusted bc she’s a pro and the looks on her page take a lot of experience and talent to execute. It seems that most featured get “the same look but different fonts.” I brushed it off thinking it was that way bc it’s trending. Nothing wrong with that! Just not what I wanted. I don’t think that looks good on me. Barely any references for East Asian women like me on their portfolio, let alone with what I wanted. But, I figured what I wanted was less complicated than what is on the page which is why I booked.
I am shy and I knew how nervous I’d be day of. I had hopes that this team could help me start my day off right. I enjoyed her vids about individualization, good vibes, tips. It is safe to say my exp was not what I expected. Bad energy all around wedding morning. Day of, I was not in front of a mirror, but the second I noticed the palette she was using, I knew she had my eye in that cool brown again instead of the warm shadow we discussed prior to trial and in my apology. It was wiped off and redone. I felt so awkward/frustrated, but I refuse to be gaslit to think I was being “bridezilla”. I know that I communicated respectfully and to the best of my ability. It isn’t personal! Why is it so hard for me to request a shadow color? Everyone could feel the awkwardness. I felt like I was torturing her asking her be there and work on me. Didn’t prep me with her promised special gold eye masks etc. Ran out the door at the end. The second MUA was late, passive aggressive, and not accommodating towards my bridesmaids and mothers. The hairstylist accompanying them was wonderful, talented, and professional. I know the job isn’t easy, but I noticed her efforts to communicate and in a professional/respectful way too.
I had to unfollow today after her story where she speaks on why she doesn’t offer trials outside of booked brides bc w 8 yrs experience, they “are no longer in the position to be auditioning”. That MU8’s process is “proven”, “successful”, and the consultations leading up to the trial should inform brides enough about whether the services would work out for them or not. I don’t feel good about writing this. But, I hope that speaking on my personal experience helps someone.
