From the moment we stepped foot onto MountainGate Country Club, my now husband and I knew this was the perfect place for our dream wedding. Everything from the flow of the venue to the caring team (shout out to Meredith!) exemplified simple elegance and convenience. With the well thought out packages to the customizable options, MountainGate was our one shop stop and with our busy work schedules yet high expectations, we couldn't have been more grateful to have met Meredith and MountainGate to help make our wedding day a dream come true. Our guests could not stop talking about the great food - especially the hors d'oeuvres, the cool option of having nitrogen ice cream(!!), and the amazing terrace with its twinkling lights to dance the night away under. Thank you, MountainGate CC team, for allowing us to host our wedding at this beautiful venue with the help of your fantastic staff!

My husband and I couldn't have been happier with our experience at MountainGate! Our wedding was 2 months ago and our friends and family are STILL talking about how beautiful everything was. We had both our ceremony and reception outside and wow was that the right decision! The pictures speak for themselves! We highly recommend having your special day here. We wish we could do ours all over again! In fact, we have already decided if we ever host another event, it has to be at MountainGate! Working with Meredith, the director, was such a pleasure. She answered all emails promptly and made sure that our vision of a perfect wedding could actually be a reality. The bride and groom have designated areas for getting dressed and ready. The women's locker room was really nice and spacious. Men were in the conference room and this door locked so important items could stay there during the night. We were so surprised at how much we were able to save with the special offer that was running at the time we booked the venue. We truly had the wedding of our dreams. Thank you for the wonderful memories, MountainGate!

We could not have picked a better place to have our wedding reception! Meredith and the staff at MountainGate are amazing! Meredith is super organized and responsive and walked us through everything we needed to know about the venue. The views of the mountains are breathtaking and the glass windows made the perfect backdrop for our sweetheart table. Our guests raved about the natural beauty of the location during the cocktail hour on the North Lawn. We also got the most amazing pictures with so many beautiful locations to get shots on the property. Meredith and her chef made sure that the food was exactly what we wanted and it was absolutely delicious. The staff at the event was professional and they did a great job. I can honestly say that my wedding day was everything that I hoped it would be and more. Thank you Meredith and the MountainGate team for everything!

My experience at MountainGate Country Club was exceptional! We had our wedding there last month, and it was a dream come true. Meredith is an absolute delight, and a total pro. She had great suggestions, and was super helpful and responsive. I knew I was in good hands with her.

The venue itself is gorgeous! We had the wedding on the terrace, a perfect setting for a summer wedding. One of the few outdoor wedding venues in LA that could go till midnight. The food was delicious, and the wedding cake vendor options are great! The wedding packages all have a lot to offer, and you can add/remove to your liking. Also, MGCC has vendors they work with, so you can rent anything directly from MountainGate, and they'll facilitate everything with the outside vendor (i.e. charger plates, backdrops, linens, lounge seating, etc). Luckily, because the outdoor terrace is so beautiful on its own, it requires little decor and lighting.

From the ceremony site, to the cocktail area, to the terrace, everything flowed so easily and seamlessly (many guests commented on how everything flowed so perfectly from area to area).

I cannot say enough good things about MGCC, you will not be disappointed.

As soon as we came across the venue while searching online, we knew it would be perfect for us! We loved the natural beauty of MountainGate; the scenery is breathtaking. It was easy for us to take a minimalist approach to decoration since the venue is so striking all on its own, and paired with the available lighting options created an ethereal backdrop for the ceremony and reception. We planned our wedding from our home in Vancouver, and from start to finish Meredith was always available for any questions we had. In coordination with our wedding planner, Meredith made sure everything was absolutely perfect and the entire evening ran smoothly. The day was pure magic; a dream come true! Thank you again!

MountainGate country club is a spectacular venue. Spacious, clean and luxurious. My company had a Holiday Party here. It was 118 of us. We can't thank them enough for a great time we had. Decoration were amazing, stuff was very accommodating and friendly, set up was very accurate. They really took their time to prepare for the event and make sure everything went smoothly, without the wrinkle. We are coming back the next year!

I found MountainGate after searching for venues that would allow for outside catering options and it turned out to be the perfect choice for many reasons beyond just the food situation. I worked with both Jacquelyn and Meredith and they were both incredibly responsive and helpful through the planning process, which was especially important as I am from out of state so basically did all the planning via email and phone. The venue itself is beautiful and our guests couldn't stop raving about what a unique experience it was to be able to have the entire event outside. This is a hidden gem among the LA wedding venues and I would highly recommend to anyone!

Best hidden gem in Los Angeles. A lush, beautiful, surprisingly affordable venue tucked away in the hills behind The Getty. We had an outdoor sunset ceremony and indoor reception for about 90 people, and the spaces were perfect, intimate and romantic. Meredith and Jacquelyn are AMAZING, they made the entire wedding planning process smooth and (dare I say it) fun. Their secret? They actually CARE about their customers. We visited other venues where we felt like a number (hello, Oviatt), but not at MountainGate. Meredith and Jacquelyn are so friendly, detail-oriented, flexible, and organized. The day of our wedding I didn't have to worry about a thing bc Meredith was all over it. Our guests had a fantastic time and partied 'til midnight, and no one could believe we found such a great place right in the heart of LA (instead of having to drive an hour out of the city). Amazing staff, easy parking, great vendor recommendations. Would highly, highly recommend.

I know every bride and groom says this but our wedding was the BEST DAY EVER!! We couldn't have pulled it off without Meredith; she is godsend. My then fiance and now husband and I booked the venue on the spot because we not only loved the venue but because we knew we were in good hands with Meredith. She is kind, warm, thorough, punctual, hardworking, and so many other positive adjectives. I literally emailed her every week asking random questions and she never failed me!

The week of my wedding I read that it was going to rain (luckily the sun came out the day of so we ended up having it outside) and it was devastating! I was stressed out but Meredith was calming and drew up different indoor floor plans making it a smooth(er) transition. Like I said, she's seriously the best and Mountaingate is lucky to have her!

I cannot speak highly enough about MountainGate Country Club. This venue is classic! It's the perfect blend of classy, chic, romantic setting and is truly a gem! The staff is incredible. Jacquelyn King, the Private Events Director, goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy. She is so great and loves what she does. You feel safe and taken care of when making some of the biggest decisions of your life. Honestly, without Jacquelyn, our wedding would not have been SO amazing. She is so detail oriented and thinks of everything. She is an absolute pleasure to work with and is extremely great at what she does. My husband and I were not fully prepared for planning a wedding, it was our first time haha, but Jacquelyn and MountainGate were beyond helpful, every step of the way!

The day of our wedding Hiram Torres was our go to man. He made sure everything was perfect and ran smoothly. All of our guests were beyond happy with every single thing at our wedding. Hiram made sure that there were no issues throughout the day. He is the food and beverages manager, but honestly was our super hero the day of! He had eyes everywhere and managed his team so well!

All thanks to MountainGate Country Club, my husband and I had the MOST amazing wedding ever! All of our family and friends could not stop talking about how perfect every single detail was. The venue is a huge part of throwing a successful event and we can honestly say that there is nowhere else we would have thrown our wedding because of the amazing service we received from the day we walked into MountainGate.

We highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to throw a successful event. Whether it's a wedding, birthday, or any celebration, MountainGate will not disappoint. We look forward to hosting future events here!

MountainGate is such a GORGEOUS venue! I had my April wedding here, as well as my rehearsal brunch, and everything was top notch! Jacquelyn was our event coordinator, and is superb and very experienced! She made the entire wedding planning process so painless and smooth--we were able to plan a 250 guest wedding (initially I thought over 300 would RSVP) in UNDER 5 months! Jacquelyn was flexible, responsive to inquiries and changes, and extremely organized. She also made sure that all minor details were customized and taken care of for both the wedding and the brunch, and provided suggestions to make sure our parents were comfortable and traditions not forgotten.

The MountainGate packages were so convenient and there are incentives and deals if you sign up for the email list or follow them on social medi. The gold package had everything that I was looking for, including chivari chairs, expansive linen options, indoor and outdoor set-up, cake, champagne toasts, day-of coordinator, wait staff, valet, and most importantly for my guests--higher end liquor options! The entree options were also delicious, we got lamb and beef short rib (guests didn't even care we didn't go with traditional fish and red meat options because food is that good!).

Jacquelyn and the MountainGate team strived to make our events seamless and perfect. There was a chance of bad weather and the team mobilized quickly to make adjustments. I highly recommend hosting events here if you're looking to wow your guests!!

I can't say enough good words about MountainGate CC and especially Meredith (Senior Private Event Manager) who worked with me.
First, all guests admitted it was the best wedding they ever attended! And it really was! We spent 8 month planning and it was just PERFECT! in my opinion 80% of this success belongs to Mountaingate CC and Meredith helping us to arrange it.

We had some issues with the the wrong Cake Colors and MountainGate suggested partial refunded, which definitely calmed my anger and anxiety
Meredith answered all my emails and questions in minutes, everything was smooth and far beyond all expectation.

I can't begin to say how thankful I am for MountainGate and their awesome staff. My bridal shower was such a special and beautiful day thanks to the attention of Jacquelyn and all of the staff members working my event! The Captain was truly the sweetest and kindest person in the world - he was so attentive and was always offering his help whenever he could. He went above and beyond his call of duty to make sure that everything I needed/wanted was taken care of. I had SO many people come up to me and tell me how much they LOVED the venue and the food and how beautiful everything was as well as how delicious the brunch was. I hope to work with MountainGate again in the future because it was such a lovely and amazing experience.

Jacquelyn Kaintz is smart, efficient, organized and accommodating. From the start she made sure everything would be ready for the event. She listens to the needs/desires of her clients and performs with perfection.
On the day of the event, Andres and Tony were fantastic, patient and so kind.
The setup was perfect! The food was delicious! The drinks were amazing, the view was breathtaking and the room was gorgeous! Thank you MountainGate for making our experience so enjoyable!

Meredith and Jacquelyn went above and beyond helping me to plan my son's Bar Mitzvah Party, including, but not limited to, accommodating us when we needed to change the date of the party! They were incredibly responsive, and easy to work with. Their expert advice on everything from wine and food selections, party flow, room set up, etc. was fantastic. They referred me to their preferred vendors (DJ, centerpieces, etc.) who provided excellent service and even better prices (I know, I comparison shopped). I am a huge fan of the team at MountainGate Country Club.

We had our ceremony and our wedding reception at Mountaingate Country Club 10/8/16 and it was such amazing day! Meredith, the private event manager is the best! She has excellent customer service, she's well organized, always got back to us very quickly, very friendly and she made the planning process so easy! She has past experience as a vendor for weddings so she was very helpful with suggestions for us. Everything looked amazing on our wedding day! Everyone complimented us on the food, the beautiful view and the decor. I absolutely loved hosting my event at MountainGate. Meredith made the planning and execution very easy and pleasant. She and her team were also very flexible and open to a few last minute adjustments. The desserts were delicious, the service was excellent, the setting was beautiful and the room tasteful. The chocolate fountain with the Mercedes on top was the icing on the cake! I would absolutely return to host another event at MountainGate.

I had my own wedding here 30 years ago and now we are celebrating my friend's daughter's wedding here. It just keeps getting better and better. The view and the venue can't be beat and the staff is so accommodating. It is hard to believe they have kept up the quality for more than 30 years. Just Awesome!!!

A little over a week ago, I had the pleasure to work at Mountaingate for a day-of-coordination job for a bride with a beautiful vision-- Her dream was to have an outdoor wedding with a whimsical garden-esque, rustic vibe with Edison lights hanging all across the terrace, and this was the place to make it happen.

Sadly, this particular day in July turned out to be an awfully wet one-- Around 2pm, the Mountaingate team decided it would be a safety hazard to do the wedding outside as it was pouring and everything from the guests to the cables would be drenched, even after we got a tent installed!

At this point, everyone from the receptionist all the way to the event director were all hands on deck and literally busted their butts off to bring the wedding inside. Everyone was so helpful and had a can-do attitude to make sure this wedding wasn't going to be cancelled. The ceremony was relocated, the tables rearranged, and setup was complete right on time! It looked beautiful and none of the guests could tell there were any issues behind the scenes.

Although I didn't have direct experience with the planning process, I can vouch that the day of your wedding at Mountaingate will be wonderful!

We booked MountainGate after an exhaustive search of venues in Los Angeles. They were by and far the best value for the money, as well as an amazing location. Halfway into the wedding planning, the event director changed, and that could have been a real problem, but the new events person was just as accommodating and lovely as the previous one. Jazmin and her assistant, Hailey, are terrific. Everything went very smoothly with MountainGate, and they were total professionals in all aspects.

A very important logistic to consider is how you get your guests to the venue. We hired a bus service to drive everyone from the SLS Hotel to MountainGate, and it went off without a hitch. And in LA traffic! Jazmin recommended B&W Limo, and they were great.

The other important aspect that we really didn't consider, but turned out to be one of the many great things about MountainGate, is that you get married on the 10th tee overlooking gorgeous mountains, then you turn around and are in your cocktail hour on a grassy knoll, then you walk a few feet and you are on the beautifully lit outdoor patio for dinner. This worked well for young and old, and no time was wasted on long trips between venues. We even had a Catholic ceremony on the 10th tee, so you can turn the beautiful outdoors into your church or synagogue. Oh, and the dancing can go until midnight, which is also unusual in an outdoor venue (that is easy to get to).

The food....we were thinking that the food would be mediocre based on the fabulous location and excellent service we were receiving. I mean how could they prepare great food too? Well, get ready. The food here is sooooo good that your guests will be raving about it. We had filet mignon, salmon and chicken, and they even accommodated our vegan guests without batting an eye. The bar was also well stocked and they honored our requests for slightly different brands, etc. Not one complaint from a very picky list of guests.

My hubby and I were just married at MountainGate a week ago, and we can't say enough good things about them. I'll tell you that it started off really great, got a little shaky about a year out, but then Jazmin came on and took control. I was starting to get really worried, but Jazmin quickly put my mind at ease and not only worked with me to get my wedding back to where I wanted it to be, she went above and beyond to make sure every expectation was surpassed.

As a venue, we held our ceremony and reception there, as well as held a cocktail hour prior to the ceremony. So we utilized the indoor dining area for cocktail hour, the tee for our ceremony, and the patio for the reception. Every aspect was perfect and beautiful, and honestly needs very little decoration because the location speaks for itself. The food was amazing, the staff....every one of them....was nice and on-top-of-t, the prices are really great (especially for LA) and on our big day, I can honestly say I wasn't the slightest bit worried, because I knew everything had been taken care of. It was just time to enjoy ALL of our hard work!

Our only regret was that we wish we had booked MountainGate longer. We had such an amazing time that we didn't want to leave!! I can't say enough good things about them, and would gladly recommend them for any event...but especially your wedding :)

It has taken us a few days to recover but we wanted to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

You and your staff were incredible on Saturday and we are still basking in the glow of the beautiful storybook evening. Everyone was thoughtful, caring and hardworking; I just wish I could have learned all their names to give them a shout out. The two that stand out are Ryan, the Food and Beverage Director and you. Ryan and his people were always accommodating our guests and making the evening special. They did everything to succeed in pleasing our guests, and for that we are very grateful. From making sure the appetizers reached everyone to the bartender mixing drinks with humor and flair, the entire staff was fantastic.

And you, Jazmin, you were incredible. You were always very helpful, responsive, and flexible and had many wonderful suggestions, like Carmela’s Ice Cream, which was a big hit. You allowed us to pepper you with dozens of questions over the last few months, many of them silly and you were always cheerful and smiling. You made sure your staff worked well and in harmony with all the vendors and allowed our coordinator, to facilitate the evening. We never had a problem; your staff was always attentive and willing to help.

And we don’t know how you ordered the gorgeous weather and wonderful sunset, but they were just a backdrop to your magnificent setting. The beauty and colors at the ceremony were breathtaking.

Again, thank you. Everyone and everything at Mountaingate was perfect.

When you are searching for the right wedding venue, everyone has their own visions of what they are looking for. That being said, if you are looking for a location with mountain views that’s quiet yet right in the middle of LA, you are in luck. Mountaingate Country Club (MGCC) is the place for you!

My husband and I knew we would love to have our wedding in the mountains, but heading to Malibu instantly raised the cost of the wedding by a lot. We happened across MGCC online, and were pleasantly surprised to find it tucked away above the 405 freeway, near the Getty Center. And while the freeway was nearby, you feel completely removed from the city. We chose to have our wedding reception on the patio, and it was absolutely perfect.

Now if MGCC is already a contender but you’re making your final decisions, here are a few things that should tip the scale in its favor. First of all, a major selling point of MGCC is Bridget, the event coordinator. We did not hire a wedding coordinator and yet having Bridget at MGCC was as if we had. She always remains professional and organized, replies to your emails or phone calls very promptly, and was constantly willing to work with our budget, our schedule, and our ideas. She made us feel completely comfortable and confident that all of the details we planned at the venue, and all of the vendors who were coming there, would be taken care of. Words really can’t express how great she is to work with, and we owe a lot to her.

A final note is that the food and the staff were absolutely wonderful. Everyone raved about the food, and everyone working the night of our wedding was extremely professional, positive and polite. We wanted our guests to enjoy their night, and with the help of everyone at MGCC, they certainly did!

My wedding fantasy came true!!! MountainGate was the most amazing place to have our wedding. We got married on the beautiful golf course on a perfect day and our reception was outdoors on the terrace. The staff is absolutely amazing and Bridget is by far one of the most amazing people i have ever met. She made sure our day was perfect. She really took care of us and what i loved is that she really took care of my fiance. So many people only focus on the bride they forget the groom. Her skills are spectacular and her attention to detail is amazing. She responded back to me so quickly. She took care of everything from A-Z. Between her and our wedding coordinator we were in heaven! She recommended us to many vendors that we used and we loved them all!!!! They also let us bring in our own caterer which we loved. Being in LA it is hard to find a outdoor venue so MountainGate was hidden up in the hills and absolutely gorgeous! We had some crazy requests but Bridget and her team made it all happen. The service was spectacular, the bartenders were amazing and the venue was to die for!!! As our friends say we had our fairy tale wedding and could not be any happier. Thank you MountainGate and Bridget and her team for the best wedding ever :).

I want to thank you once again for everything you and your staff did to make Dana and Itay's wedding day so very special and memorable. There were absolutely no glitches or issues with the country club and your staff. From set up to tear down everything proceeded smoothly and efficiently. The terrace, especially at night, was absolutely magical and more than one guest commented that they felt they were experiencing a wedding celebration in the European countryside. This was our second wedding in four months and absolutely hands down, Mountaingate was the most outstanding venue we have ever done business with. The service was incredible and the environment was breathtaking. But, most of all, they did the impossible by serving absolutely flawless , outrageously delicious food to every one of our guests..exactly like they served and promised at the tastings. Bridget, the chef and all the staff were as interested in our wedding happening without a hitch as we were. The coordinator, Bridget, especially, was pure joy to work with. She was always there for us whenever needed, answered every question and made our evening fit our needs and budget. We are tremendously happy and grateful for all that Mountaingate did to make an absolutely unforgettable wedding for our daughter.

Mountaingate is amazing. What can I say? My wife and I looked at over 20 different venues and Mountaingate was the ONLY one that felt perfect. We had our ceremony outside on the 10th Tee, Cocktail Hour on the outdoor patio, and reception in the dining hall.

The staff is so great. Bridget and Charlene did a fantastic job of making everything come together. This place is flexible flexible flexible! Gorgeous views, elegant architecture, delicious food (customizable menu!), friendly staff, how can you go wrong!?

My experience with MGCC was EXCEPTIONAL. Bridget McCulllough was the representative that worked with me and my wedding planner through the entire wedding planning process and she is WONDERFUL. Literally, MGCC accommodated every single request I came to them with. From bringing in a specific champagne for the toast to allowing my vendors to drop things off early and pick them up the next day. I was impressed each time I sent over a question and Bridget responded within a few hours (at most). The entire staff during my wedding was gracious, curteous and professional. I almost didn't even notice they were there, except for the fact that everytime I sat down my wine glass (and champagne!) was instantly being filled or my meal was being served piping hot. The food was AMAZING. We had the filet and sea bass and it was incredible. Cooked to perfection. I don't know how they managed to keep such quality while serving 150 guests, but they did. I am almost at a loss for words to describe how happy I am with the service, the food, and the location itself. We were married on the golf course and the reception took place on the outdoor patio. Everything was so beautiful, green, manicured (without looking too manicured). It was naturally beautiful, and incredibly classy. Our cocktail hour took place on the putting green (my one small complaint was that it was slightly muddy), and once the party moved to the patio, the putting green became a "cigar lounge" with a fire pit. This was done at absolutely no additional cost and was quite a pleasant surprise for me when I was going over the layout with my wedding planner. I just assumed once that area was vacated, they would take down the tables and chairs from cocktail hour and close that area off. This was, hands down, the best wedding I have ever been to. Granted, it was MY wedding, but I am a picky bride and can find nothing that went wrong that night (or maybe no one told me, and that's just as good!). Thank you Mountaingate and Bridget!!!

Our wedding was absolutely amazing, everyone loved Mountaingate & said it was so unique to be able to have a reception that had both an inside and outside area. I researched over a 100 venues online and was surprised to find that most are either all inside or all outside, having both was on our top 10 things that a venue had to have. The Mountaingate Coordinator Bridget was phenomenal & such a pleasure to work with. We booked over 8 months in advance & she was always on top of everything and anyone that met her the day of the wedding was VERY impressed with her & could tell that she took her job very seriously. We received comments from our parents and guests that said it was the most beautiful, fun and well organized wedding they had ever been to & they noted how Bridget seemed to just glide & take care of anything & if there were any issues she took care of it so fast that no one noticed. Everyone also was HIGHLY impressed with the food, the chef was amazing! I have been to other weddings that had filet mignon & it was never prepared well –either under or over cooked, but Chef made the food PERFECT! At the tastings Ben & Bruce were wonderful to work with, they were both so personable & so knowledgeable. Bruce was there the day of the wedding & was both professional and attentive, he made sure everything in the dining area was running smoothly. Even the next day when we picked up the items, Mountaingate staff continued being so wonderful.

We held both our ceremony and reception here and everything was amazing! The help I got from the event staff was exceptional and the food the night of the wedding was delicious. Two of our guests went on to have their own parties here after our wedding.

I cannot say enough nice things about MountainGate and especially Meredith Anderson, our event planner.
First off, she treated the kids who were planning the event with respect, which I felt was really impressive.

As for the actual event, everything turned out perfectly and the kids had a great time.

Bridget and her staff are very friendly, customer oriented and flexible. They did everything they could to make our experience with them the best possible. We used most of their preferred vendors, and had a wonderful experience. They were patient, flexible and very, very easy to deal with despite the many changes that we made. Everything was executed perfectly with the exception of one thing: they stated that they would provide ushers to escort our guests to the ceremony site, which they did not. Instead, the guests were confused and kept coming into my room to use the restroom. On our wedding day they stated that they didn't have enough staff to escort our guests, and forgot to put a sign on the door of my room to prevent people from coming in. Other than that, they were very nice to deal with, food was excellent, and the venue is gorgeous. I would recommend the venue to anyone, they went above and beyond to make is happy which they did!!!

Beautiful country club! My ceremony took place on the green, with cocktail hour on the patio area and reception inside. The setup was georgous. I origanally wanted a beach wedding and thought I was "settlig" for just an out doors wedding. I would not have traded this ceremony site for all the beaches in the world. The staff was professional and the food was phenominal! Highly recomend Mountaingate for ANY formal events!

I recently had the most wonderful wedding at Mountaingate. Bridget, the wedding liaison was ultimately the reason we went with Mountaingate. She was able to handle anything we asked of her and her staff. We wanted the ceremony to be in a circle, they did it! I wanted to surprise my husband with a photobooth they kept the surprise and make it all work! We wanted to have a swing lesson during cocktail hour, they said no problem! We wanted an appetizer that was not on the menu, they made it happen! We need a few Gluten Free meals, and they made that work too!The food was all really delicious and although we had a few minor snags with the food, it was all worked out. The landscape was gorgeous, the flowers were all in bloom, and the grass was very green. All of the wait staff we came in contact with was all very friendly. We had an open bar, and I did not like that we had to count the children as part of it, because there was no way they were going to have any alcohol. But the linens and place settings are all included in the price. We ended up spending about double our budget at Mountaingate which is the reason for only giving them 4 stars. But overall we were extremely happy with our day, I would recommend them highly!

We're so happy that we decided to go with Mountaingate for our wedding! We live in SF and were looking for a venue that included a lot of things like catering and furniture to ease some of the planning. The service at Mountaingate through Jacquelyn and Meredith was superb - they were very responsive throughout the entire process and helpful in accommodating changes along the way. The mountains and the greens provided a beautiful backdrop for our ceremony, particularly as the sun was setting. The courtyard area was the perfect size for our guest count. It felt intimate. The tea lights and chandeliers we chose looked so amazing at night time. Our guests all kept saying how beautiful the wedding looked.

The only two small things that we thought could've been better were the flexibility with when we could arrive at the venue due to golfers and a complaint we heard about how the wait staff treated the children during reception.

Looking back after the wedding, Mountaingate worked out so well and we couldn't be more thankful!

This is a great venue for an outdoor affair. The canyon views are beautiful for the ceremony and the terrace with a dance floor under lanterns is lovely for the reception. We couldn't be happier with how lovely it photographed for our wedding album and our guests raved about the location too.

Meredith was very helpful and organized in helping us prepare for our wedding reception! Meredith's previous experience as a wedding planner was very helpful for sorting out our wedding reception details. The wedding planning process was structured to keep us on track (many options for a customizable event package) and the facility has rules in place to keep the venue in top condition. Some of the requirements were to have a Day of Coordinator, select from three preferred wedding cake bakeries - Jaqki Cakes, the baker we chose arranges the tiered wedding cake onsite so there were no issues with the cake sliding on the drive up the huge hill, there is a midnight sound cutoff, they allow sparklers but must DIY, and the golf course photo access was strict, as was a strict clean up policy - we had to have everything cleared out that night/ early morning after the wedding. MountainGate has a great relationship with a variety of recommended vendors and had no problem coordinating with vendors we selected on our own. The only feedback we received was from our coordinator who was delayed in setting up as they were showing the venue space the afternoon of our wedding to prospective clients.

Overall, we had an amazing wedding experience at MountainGate and the value was in the staff experience in hosting large celebrations. Our guests loved the views from MountainGate and the memorable summer dining and dancing under the lights, which made for a lovely California wedding celebration!

Avoid - new management is terrible

We used this venue due partly to the great reviews on the Knot, however it's clear those reviews are from many years ago, and the venue is currently a nightmare to work with. The management team was constantly imposing extremely restrictive policies on us, some of which were just ridiculous (not allowed to play any amplified music outside, for example). They even reverted to some shady tactics such as adding restrictions to our contract AFTER we had already signed it. We were constantly fighting management to have normal things like the ability to play music during our cocktail hour, and being able to have our dog walk down the aisle. They tried overcharging us multiple times, requiring several corrections of our contract. On our wedding day, one of their staff actually YELLED at us for taking pictures in the wrong location on the golf course. They are clearly more concerned about their rich country club members than couples trying to plan a wedding. They should stop offering weddings since they clearly don't want to have them at their venue.

Unless you're their member, they could care less about you.

This venue was a nightmare.

Positives:
The venue itself is beautiful, the food was amazing and the price was reasonable...if you're willing to deal with the venue going back on their word about everything and having absolutely no clue what they are doing...

Negatives:
You will want to pull your hair out by the time you are done fighting the staff to uphold your contract details.
Our venue event coordinator changed a minimum of three times between the two years we had booked the venue. Each time our amazing wedding planner Samatha Hall (who we absolutely loved and could not have made it through this without) would have to put in hours catching them up to speed.
Per our contract, we were allowed to use their conference room to hold all of our decor and other items 24 hours prior to the wedding. We dropped all of our items off during our rehearsal and the manager locked the room for us. The morning of our wedding my Grandmother and Aunt went to the venue to meet my florist as a favor to me. At this time the front desk woman began to yell at my grandmother to remove all the boxes from their conference room as the members needed it to take their phone calls as they weren't allowed to take calls in the restaurant. When the newest venue event coordinator heard wind of this (who mind you started 2 weeks before our wedding but was on all of our email threads and had access to our contract) went to my grandmother and instead of helping her and backing her up, also told her we needed to remove everything. This room was also rented out for the groom and groomsmen to be in prior to the wedding and for my wedding planning team and vendors to use for the night.
Once my wedding coordinator arrived and settled this dispute the venue then told her I would not be allowed to walk out on the turf in my heels...an hour before my ceremony started and I was already at the site with no other shoe option.
When we first signed on we were told we could not have large speakers outside to walk down the aisle but they would allow us to have a small speaker but would need an acoustic player for cocktail hour. Amplified music would then be allowed again inside for dinner and dancing. About six months before the wedding, we were told we were allowed to ONLY have acoustic players for the ceremony and cocktail hour. With the help of Samantha again, we were able to get the venue to agree to have 3 songs played on the speaker during our ceremony. Day of the wedding my DJ arrived to set up and the venue told him that he was not allowed as we are not allowed to have ANY amplified music outside or inside the venue. Luckily again Samantha was able to fight for us to get our DJ approved for setup.
We also had items get broken and go missing during cleanup as staff would not allow us to double-check the outside cocktail hour if we had left anything.

These are just a few hiccups we had with this venue. We absolutely loved our wedding but without our wedding planner, this wedding would have been a complete headache. Weddings are stressful enough and having staff that have no clue what is going on nor what was agreed upon in their contracts is infuriating.
