The guys at Motive Cinemas were awesome to work with. They really took the time to speak to us and make sure that they understood our vision for our wedding. Additionally they went above and beyond to make sure we got the package that we were looking for which would give us what we wanted. I cannot recommend these guys enough! Do not hesitate to book Motive Cinemas! Jesse and Patrick were so communicative and easy to work with since the very beginning. We loved their work on Instagram and a few vendors highly recommended them to us. Day of the wedding, they were so fun to work with and very professional. We received our wedding teaser about 3 days after our wedding and we were in shock on how incredible it came out. Not to mention the full length documentary feels like a real movie. One of the best memories we will have when years pass by. Thanks again Jesse and Patrick, we can't wait to work with you both again! -

You guys did an absolutely fantastic job. We were completely blown away by every aspect of it, the spectacular shots you took, your presentation, and above all, the amazing editing job you did. Wow wow wow - JESSE AND PATRICK ARE AMAZING!!!!!! I loved every interaction with them leading up to the wedding - so helpful, understanding, and prompt with emails!! They got along with our photographer, got the vision, and EXECUTED FLAWLESSLY.
They turned our highlight video around in a couple of days and I could not be more obsessed. I truly feel the energy from the wedding in the video. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!! -

As we were gearing up our wedding planning, everyone was telling us: you need a great videographer to capture the moments. Of course, that was very important to us. We started looking into various companies in the Miami area and we came across Motive Cinemas in our search. Something about the sample videos on their site really hit a cord with us - the emotion, musicality & beautiful cinematography. Ben and I agreed that was what we wanted for our wedding video. We met with the team and there was such an ease and comfort - we knew the documentation of our special day was in good hands. Our wedding day finally arrived and we were ecstatic, in large part due to the careful consideration of the Motive Cinema team. They knew what we wanted and made the process seem easy and effortless - they just got us. The whole experience was a collaborative one, and, in the moment, it just seemed like it was meant to be. By the time it was all said and done, we were already so excited to see what they had put together. And what we got was way behind even our wildest imagination. Through their lenses, they captured the heart of our wedding. From us, to the guests, to the decor... we feel the warmth and the love of that day Every. Single. Time we watch our videos. Motive Cinemas is forever a part of our wedding moment, and we wouldn’t want it any other way. 5 stars just isn’t enough - not even 10 would be. If you need videographers for anything, we wholeheartedly recommend Motive Cinemas! -

I cannot recommend Motive Cinemas enough. Patrick and Jesse were amazing to have along our wedding weekend. They traveled down to Key West and were incredibly easy to work and communicate with. They went above and beyond to make us feel excited for our big day and for the resulting video. I specifically loved Motive not only because of their footage skills but also because they are amazing at editing. Seriously. The work they put in after the wedding to put our wedding footage into a one minute film, a three minute film, a ten minutes film, and then a one hour film was amazing. We noticed and appreciated every song choice, every transition, and each shot. They were able to pick up exactly on what mattered to us, the feel of the night, and ultimately captured our most amazing day ever. If you are unsure... book them. Do it. You need an amazing wedding film to share with your friends, relatives that can't make it, relatives that did make it, your wedding party, each other, your unborn children, strangers on vimeo. It is totally worth every penny! Thank you, Jesse and Patrick! -

Thank you for bringing our film vision to life! Patrick and his team were so fun and easy to work with. I call them artists because they truly executed a work of art for my husband and I. We knew what we wanted for our wedding video and they surpassed our expectations. Forever grateful! -

Awesome quality, they didn't miss a shot and they're absolutely creative. They made my wedding look like a movie! I will definately be using them for any future events and I will be referring them to everyone I know. -

It's been quite awhile since our wedding, but it's still a very sore spot feeling disappointed with how our video turned out and that the highlights of our day just weren't captured after paying a top dollar vendor. Jesse and his team are great guys and were very nice to work with throughout booking & our wedding day--which is why we've hesitated with posting a review for so long-- but, now we're hoping this will give us some closure and hopefully help future vendor/client relationship and expectation setting to prevent anyone else from not capturing their special day in such a way that they'll treasure.
The first full video we received as finished product had multiple issues:
1. A few minutes in a technical warning image popped up on the video
2. Sound quality was very poor that even with television/laptop turned to max volume it was difficult to hear the ceremony
3. Our first dance which was choreographed was shown of our backs (??) and so close in that you couldn't see our footwork for close to the entirety of the dance (we spent 4 months learning & practicing that dance)
4. A lot of parts appeared very choppy rather than flowing
5. Highlights of the day like the hora and us being lifted in chairs, ketubbah signing, violinists/cellists, bride dancing with drummer & dancers were not included in the full video at all
6. Most clips were zoomed in so close the video did not capture alot of guests, ceremonial highlights (breaking of the glass, exit from the ceremony, etc).
7. A sound issue they referenced prevented them from being able to use the actual music from the reception...dancing shots were slowed down/sped up where they appeared unnatural and again only close up shots of guests were included (none of group on the dance floor). We received so many compliments from our vendors and guests at what a fun wedding it was since guests barely left the dance floor, but the video fails to capture the crazy special party that it was! :(
8. Strange amateur-like frames included throughout, examples: one of our heads was cut out partially during ceremony or during toasts several heads partially cut out, during blessing of the bread the decorative set up was cut out of frame, etc. These frames lasted for over a minute in most cases so they were blaringly awkward--we were overall very disappointed by quality of footage and/or editing.
When Patrick/Jesse heard we were dissatisfied, they were very responsive and asked for recommendations/notes from us for how they could improve the finished product. They were very apologetic and did take it very seriously which we appreciated; that lets you know they do strive to do the right thing in any case and have hopefully learned from our feedback. In our case, they did try to correct what we pointed out, but we were told wider shots weren't available to incorporate which was the most critical issue for us. This meant our choreographed dance wasn't captured well and only a small portion of our guests appear throughout the video since only close-ups were included. We truly appreciated their efforts to remedy the situation, it's just unfortunate they didn't have the footage to be able to do so for a satisfactory finished product. Our overall feeling in the end was that we know our families and friends had such a great time as we did, but the footage and editing severely failed to capture that for us.Motive Cinemas's reply:
Hey Katina, as you know we put the utmost effort into every wedding film. After over a year of waiting for a response, it is very unfortunate that this discussion had to be made public before trying to come to a resolution with us. On the other hand, we are happy that you found closure by leaving this review.
We have learned a lot from this experience and we believe that this issue came from the lack of communication prior to the wedding. We have updated our pre-wedding questionnaire to make sure that we know in advance of any specific moments that need to be captured on the wedding day. We have also started to emphasize to our couples that teamwork is very important when booking vendors and venues.
I want to take a step back and mention that I am a person who you would consider to be an “Audiophile”. Someone that basically loves the science behind great sounding audio. In our office we use state of the art audio equipment. On wedding days, we capture audio using some of the best external recorders on the market. The one thing I stress the most on any project is to make sure that the audio is solid.
Unfortunately on your wedding day, as we mentioned to you already, the venue did not provide us with a reliable audio source. This led to the subpar audio quality in your wedding film.
Let me breakdown how this specific audio issue occurred.
- The DJ during the reception provides the guests with a microphone to give their toasts.
- We then connect either to the DJ’s audio board or to the external output behind any speaker in the room that is providing audio to your guests.
- Your wedding venue, The Club of Knights in Coral Gables, provides you with a built in sound system. It sounds like something great, but it’s not.
- The DJ provides the venue with a single cable that plugs into the building. The building’s speakers then plays whatever signal is coming from the DJ. (Simply put, it’s like the AUX cable in a car.)
- The speakers are built into the venue and are impossible to connect to.
- The DJ only had one output from his audio which means that he did not have a signal to send to my recorder.
- I was personally told that there was no audio source to connect to.
- I did however find a back room where the venue had a very disorganized audio setup. I thought I might have struck gold and saved the situation.

I snapped this picture to show my business partner because it was honestly the most unorganized setup I have seen from any venue. In the picture, I have added 2 red circles to show you the connection that I made. The top right red circle shows an 1/4” connection made into my external recorder. The bottom left red circle shows that 1/4” output connection the board.
- Unfortunately the source was providing me with ambient music that was being played in the hallway outside of the room that the reception was being held in.
- This is a prime example of work that we do that goes unnoticed on the wedding day. Unfortunately, it was noticed this time. But in a negative way.
I wanted to go into detail over the audio situation because this is was a major problem. We understand that audio is what makes or breaks a video. We are even booked by clients because our audio is so great. Putting the audio blame on our company was incorrect. This is a problem that is overlooked by many venues. Especially many churches.
After this response, I will be reaching out to the Club of Knights to share our concerns with the venue.
The message that appeared on the first render of the wedding film was a technical error from the editing program that we use. The error is commonly known in the community. BUT! there is no excuse, we should have given the video one last watch before sending it over. We did however fix the issue very quickly.
When booking a wedding, we now mention to our clients that they need to like our style. Every company has a different style when it comes to filming and editing. Unfortunately with us, that connection was not there.
