Absolute best wedding venue
We truly could not have asked for a better wedding venue. From the moment we walked onto The Moshulu, we knew it was where we wanted to have our wedding. Our wedding was on 12/8/23 (we had our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at The Moshulu). We had a little less than 100 guests, which ended up being the perfect amount of people. Jake and Rebecca were an absolute dream to work with; they made the planning process a breeze and quickly answered our many emails with detailed responses to our questions. The entire Moshulu staff was incredible and made us feel like royalty all day. They kept the suites stocked with food and drinks which was AMAZING. Everything came together better than we could have imagined, and the day went off without a hitch. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful and unique of a venue it was. The holiday decor on the ship was so beautiful and complimented our decor perfectly - it looked and felt so magical! The food was SO good. In between the ceremony and cocktail hour, they set up a table filled with hor deourves and champagne in one of the suites, so we could take a few minutes to take in the moment and have a snack before joining our guests at cocktail hour - it was such a special moment. I cannot say enough good things about The Moshulu and all of its staff. If you are considering having your wedding here, I would 1000% recommend it.-

Best wedding venue! 100% recommend
The Moshulu was the first venue we looked at and we instantly fell in love and knew it was where we wanted to host our wedding reception. First, the ship is absolutely stunning and we knew it would give such a unique experience to our guests. Because it has such charm and character, we were able to focus on key details like centerpieces and signage rather than needing to worry about dressing a blank space! But more importantly, we knew it was where we wanted to have our wedding because of how well we were treated by the Moshulu staff during every single interaction from our first tour until the big day! Jake was the absolute best to work with through everything! We found many other venues stick to a “cookie cutter” approach or up charge for every little thing… but as a vendor, the Moshulu was so incredibly flexible, collaborative, and accommodating with their wedding package to truly make it OUR day. It was such a pleasure to collaborate (and we really do mean collaborate!) with Jake and team on our vision, and our guests commented on the beauty of the ship all night long! We would highly recommend anyone host their event at the Moshulu!-

The easiest planning experience and the wedding day of our dreams!
We had the best possible experience working with Rebecca Levitsky throughout the process of planning our wedding at the Moshulu. The venue itself is inherently special and couldn’t be more picturesque. We had 60 guests, and the mid-deck area was the perfect size for our ceremony and reception. The process of wedding planning was as smooth as possible, thanks to Rebecca being extremely organized, approachable, and proactive. Rebecca met with me and my now husband numerous times to get to know us, understand our priorities, and ensure we felt completely confident that the team at Moshulu would make our vision come to life. Rebecca was responsive and prompt in answering all our questions over email and totally open to figuring out how to accommodate our less traditional ideas (like coordinating trays of lemon drop shots to be brought out to the dance floor!). Rebecca introduced us personally to the General Manager, Brett Keyes, the Day-of-Manager, Max Toth, and many members of the team who would be working on our wedding day. Moshulu’s pastry chef, Clarence Fortune, also met with us to create the most beautiful (and delicious!) wedding cake. Everyone was deeply committed to making sure we had the wedding day we imagined. On the day of our wedding, everything was executed perfectly. Rebecca and Max communicated with us throughout the celebration and made sure we were taken care of at all times, from having food/drinks in the bridal suites to generously serving us all three entree choices! They set up our decor exactly as we described, and the staff were all extremely attentive to our guests. Everyone couldn’t stop raving about how delicious the food was and how much they enjoyed the ambiance of being on the ship. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day and highly, highly recommend choosing Moshulu!

Best wedding ever
We had a wonderful experience getting married at the Moshulu. Jake, Rebecca, and Michelle were with us every step of the way from our first tour to our trip to collect our decorations after the wedding. The food and service were impeccable and we loved how flexible The Moshulu was about allowing us to bring in decor and other treats. The venue is beautiful and multiple guests told us it was the most unique wedding they’d attended. We also loved the ability to have our ceremony, cocktail and dinner hours, and reception in one space. The Moshulu staff did a brilliant job transitioning between different components of the wedding with no interruptions. Jake, Rebecca, and Michelle made sure that we as the brides had nothing to worry about, and they even brought us food so we were able to eat! We highly recommend The Moshulu. -

Absolutely magical wedding!
For starters, Jake and Rebecca were SO easy to work with. We rescheduled multiple times due to covid and they were so flexible and accommodating.
Next, our wedding reception was INCREDIBLE! It was elegant, fun and seamless. We received sooo many compliments on our cocktail hour on the mid-deck and dinner in the state room. Multiple people mentioned that it must have cost a fortune - but it was actually so affordable compared to other venues!
We loved how everything was included and there wasn’t much decorating to do, since the boat itself is stunning.
If you are considering having your wedding at Moshulu, DO IT!!! You’ll have the time of your life, your guests will be amazing, and planning will be easy.
Thank you again to the entire staff at Moshulu! -

Breathtaking - our wedding was exquisite!
When my husband and I first came to the Moshulu, we were blown away. The space is so uniquely gorgeous and cinematic, we instantly fell in love with it. From our first tour with Jake Wade (Moshulu’s sales director) through booking with him, and then multiple changes and postponements due to the pandemic, Jake was far and away the most professional, knowledgeable, gracious and kind person to work with. To the point that “OMG Jake is the BEST” were very common words throughout our planning process.
I feel so lucky that we booked at Moshulu for so many reasons. The venue itself, besides being stunning and the perfect setting for a unique wedding, is a historical marvel, and an epic place for a history- and boat-loving family to throw a party.
Secondly, the food is EXQUISITE. I could eat the braised short rib every day, and the hors d’oeuvres were out of this world. As was our cake! That’s right, venue, catering, and cake, all in one place. No need to bring in an outside caterer or baker or any table/linen rentals. It’s all in house and perfectly handled, which takes so much stress out of the equation!
Thirdly, getting to use multiple locations on the ship was ideal! We had our ceremony on the mid-deck at sunset and looking out over the water. (It was in December, and the heaters kept all of us so warm!) Then we had our dinner and toasts and first dances in the sate dining room, which is pure magic with its wooden walls and beams and gold accents and mirrored ceilings. Then we headed back up to the mid-deck for our dance party, complete with string lights, a disco ball, and an amazing set-up for our DJ on a balcony overlooking the dance floor. This area also has a wonderful bar area where our guests were served cake, more desserts, and yummy late night snacks. (Also, shoutout to bartender Andy. We love you!)
Lastly, I know we mentioned it at the top of this review, but Jake Wade! He’s just truly wonderful. He was so accommodating of our menu and bar desires, and it was clear from the start that he would do everything in is power to help us have the most glorious event would could imagine (and we did!). He worked so well with all of our vendors and was constantly the person we knew could help us with any issue. He's also just a legitimately cool person. We felt so prioritized and taken care of by him the entire process. And Jake’s team, Brett and all the servers and bartenders, did an absolutely incredible job day-of. We cannot say enough good things about the entire crew.
Our wedding was beyond epic, and our guests are still talking about it and about how incredibly *cinematic* it all was being aboard such a beautiful ship. Cleary, we ADORE the Moshulu, and we recommend booking with them wholeheartedly. -

10/10 would recommend!
My now husband and I got engaged in 2018 and just got married on 5/21/21. Moshulu was one of the first venues we toured in 2018 and we fell in love. By the fall of that year, we had a contract with them. Jake was in contact with us all the way. Even though we were so far out, he answered our questions, told us things we should be concerned about and things we don't need to be. He always made us feel at ease. Michelle is also extremely wonderful. During our cocktail hour, she overheard one of our guests asking what was in each hors-d'oeuvre because he was allergic to many different foods. She went out of her way to bring him a tray of food he could eat! Michelle made my husband and my plates during the reception as we were walking around greeting guests and made sure to check on us periodically throughout the night. I cannot recommend having your event at the Moshulu enough. Everything was spectacular--thanks Jake and Michelle! -

Elegant Afternoon Wedding
We could not have been more pleased with our experience holding our wedding at the Moshulu. We had a relatively small wedding of about 50 people, and the Moshulu made us feel just as important as if we were having a large wedding. They had several different spaces available for varying sized weddings.
Our original date had to be moved due to Covid, and the Moshulu was very flexible. All of our guests could not stop raving about how excellent the food was and how beautiful the venue was. -

Moshulu was Everything and MORE
Figuring out our venue was the most troubling part when trying to stick to a budget. After looking into Moshulu, we were amazed that such a beautiful venue had such affordable packages. The concierge and other support staff were very professional and elevated any stresses along the way! Our photo's are stunning and our guests really enjoyed the experience as well! We highly recommend Moshulu for your wedding!!-

Excellent choice for Sunday post-wedding brunch!
Our wedding guests loved brunch at Moshulu. The food was great, especially the salmon. Being on a boat was an experience within itself and adds so much character. The event coordinator Jake was phenomenal to work with. Jake made planning a breeze. We are glad we decided on Moshulu for our post-wedding brunch and felt it was the best value in the city. -

All Around Amazing Venue
We recently celebrated our December wedding on The Moshulu and could not have asked for a more hospitable and beautiful venue. From start to finish, the experience was unbeatable. Jake and his team made the planning process so easy and guided us through many of the decisions we needed to make. We were able to drop our decorations off early and the crew set everything up for us! This was so helpful when we had other wedding activities going on in the hours leading up to the wedding. The food and cake was so delicious and beautifully presented. The unique venue with breathtaking views really wowed our guests. I heard again and again how much everyone was impressed with the awesome venue. With having the wedding near Christmas, we also were able to enjoy all the Christmas decorations that the Moshulu used throughout the ship. At the end of the wedding, we were able to just go home and come back the next day for our decorations including my bouquet and the top tier of our cake which they thoughtfully saved for us. Celebrating our wedding at the Moshulu was one of the best wedding decisions we made as they far exceeded our expectations throughout the entire process! They come highly recommended!! -

I loved the Moshulu for our reception venue and working with Jake and Jesse was fantastic! They were so helpful, accommodating, and professional! I'm so sad that it drizzled on our wedding day so our guests weren't able to fully experience the beauty and the views from the Moshulu's top deck! The space was still so pretty and open despite being enclosed due to rain, and the tent/side flaps are nice enough that guests can see outside and still view the city, the water, and the Ben Franklin Bridge. The staff members were great and everything worked out perfectly! Our guests loved how unique of a reception venue it was and couldn't stop talking about the location! I love that so much is included in the cost of the venue and that they're willing to make changes to accommodate your wishes! -

We just had our wedding at the Moshulu. It was better than I ever imagined. Everyone was so accomodating and responsive to our needs. Jake is excellent and very pleasant to work with. He always responded to our emails right away. Jesse is outstanding as well, he really tries hard to make sure everyone is happy and having a great time. Everyone said how amazing he was. He is very attentive to details and remembering what was important to us. I'm so glad we had our wedding at the Moshulu! It was a wonderful experience of a lifetime! -

Everything about this place was fantastic and awesome. We couldn't give the Moshulu a better review. They were very accommodating, the setting and scenery are just beautiful. Jake and Jesse were on top of everything and took care of us the entire night. And on top of all of that, we found the value to be much better than any other place we visited. -

I came to the Moshulu after my wedding was cancelled by the nearby City Tavern. I had already booked my hotel and other services in the Old City neighborhood, and had to quickly find another location for my reception. I'm so glad I picked the Moshulu, as the City Tavern did us a favor! A family member had their engagement party on the Moshulu several years ago, so we knew the food and service would be good. Also, the pricing was about average for other venues (we explored a number of options from hotels to inns to the typical "wedding mills"). There are reviews below that talk about a non-responsive person (Christina) and this was my experience (she wouldn't respond to emails for days if not weeks, then voila, she had left, not even telling her clients about who was taking over). Well, it was good riddance because Chris Baldwin took over as sales manager. His previous position was being in charge of the banquets at the events so he really knew his stuff. We loved working with Chris. He was completely professional, but not slick and phony. He was always calm, pleasant, and had answers for ALL my questions and ALL my emails (and there were a lot). He followed through on everything he said. Everything was planned and arranged as I wanted it. This is a very unique venue, one that your guests won't forget. The spaces have a real character about them. If you love all things maritime, as I do, this is a great spot. There are wonderful views of the river and skyline. And the food -- the food was delicious. Our guests raved about it. The bartenders and servers were great -- they would take order or refill beverages or answer questions always with a smile. This place knows what it's doing when it comes to receptions or large parties. Another great thing about having our wedding there is knowing we can always go back for an anniversary or special occasion and have lunch or dinner there. Chris is the consummate professional! You can trust him with your special day!! -

Moshulu was a fantastic venue for our wedding day. Chris Baldwin, the wedding sales manager, was very helpful and accommodating. We had our ceremony outside on the deck and because it was January, Moshulu provided complementary heat lamps to keep everyone warm. The temperature was very pleasant even though it was in the 20s that day.
We had a very small wedding (just 10 guests plus the 2 of us) so we were able to use the Captain's dining room for our meal. The server was very good at his job, attentive but not overbearing.
The open bar and Moshulu's cake added a nice touch to our meal. It was definitely nice to have these things included in our package so we had less to worry about. (We chose not to have a reception because we don't dance but I'm sure they would have had a nice reception as well).
Moshulu was great! -

They were amazing and they made my day amazing!!!
I planned my wedding from the other side of the world, with no option to visit my wedding city until 3 days before the day. From that precarious position, I chose the Moshulu for my venue & food. Over a year of emails and plan-changes and updates, they were incredibly responsive (nearly always answering my emails in detail within a day or so, sometimes within hours) and helpful - I haven't attended many weddings and really had no clue what I was doing and they were fantastic.
They were welcoming and sweet for our rehearsal, where my group was boisterous and probably annoying but they were always so accommodating even though we didn't do the dinner there!
They made the wedding day itself like a dream come true, better than I would ever have expected. Amazing service, beautiful premises, every stupid thing I asked was done with a smile (like when I asked for bread because my stomach was a little iffy to eat a real meal, our PERSONAL SERVER!!! brought me warm, soft rolls and artisan butter made in-house.) That personal server, Nick, was fantastic. Husband and I are not fancy people used to being served and at first we felt a little uncomfortable with what amounted to a butler but he put us at ease and by the end of the night, boy were we glad to have him around! If the Moshulu is reading this, GIVE NICK A RAISE AND A BONUS!!
Everyone complimented us on the food and we thought it was wonderful too, not your usual rubber chicken, but unique and rich and delicious. The cake in particular really wowed me, I'm not a big fan of cake and wedding cake nearly always disappoints, but not only was the cake beautiful (EXACTLY the way I wanted it, even though it was a weird design) but it was delicious too.
I was a bride on a budget and I feel like I got so much for my money, all night we were saying how every single penny was well spent. If you are considering Moshulu for your wedding, do not hesitate! -

This is the second time in which I have booked a couple at the Moshulu. Once again not only am I thrilled with the outcome of the wedding but more importantly the Bride & Groom loved everything. Ten days later and I am still receiving emails about the success of the wedding. I will continue to recommend the Moshulu for weddings not only because of the unique atmosphere, but for the high quality of the food and service. Thanks again

My wedding at the Moshulu was absolutely perfect due to the attentiveness and professionalism of the staff. We planned everything from out of state and they made it so easy for us--they were quick and detailed with e-mail correspondence and were willing to meet with us on weekends when we were in the area. The ambiance was formal, yet comfortable and our guests raved about the food and the cake. My husband has food allergies and they were beyond accommodating, even making him a separate cake and providing him with his own special hors d'oeuvres and entree. The banquet manager and our personal waiter were fabulous--they made us feel at ease and took care of everything we needed so we were able to have a thoroughly stress-free evening. I am so glad that we hosted our event there--best decision we could have made. -

I had both my ceremony and reception at Moshulu. From the moment I began planning, up until the day I said I do, everyone at Moshulu was helpful and responsive. Bill Bergan was the sale person who showed me Moshulu and assited me to book the venue. His assist Meghan was there to help me pick my menu, change my menu, and assist me with the flow of my special day. I just want to say thank you to both of them. On the day of Allison was our wedding day coordinator. She was on us all night make sure we had everything we needed, also keeping the behind the scenes moving smoothly! I would highly recommend Moshulu to all Philly Brides!
P.S. Carrot Cake wedding Cake was the best wedding cake I've ever tasted! -

We had so much fun at the Moshulu. The immediate family had the rehearsal dinner in the Captain's room and then we moved to the top deck for a welcome cocktail party. Our guests had open bar and passed appetizers. The venue is unique and the staff is amazing. The food is excellent. After the cocktail party, the deck opened to the public and our party continued into the night. The sun was setting and the scene was beautiful. Such a great experience, our guests are still talking about it. -

If you want a venue that's unique, gorgeous, has history, and is right on the best views of the city, look no further. My fiancé and I held a slightly larger sized engagement party here, with very much the same elements of a wedding, and the venue blew our minds. We cannot wait for the photos that came out of such a unique venue, our guests had a blast, the food was absolutely amazing (and several of our guests are chefs), the staff is top-notch, all the guests commented on how well they were treated throughout the night. Thank you so much for helping us host the very best event we'd ever been to! -

The Moshulu was a fantastic reception venue. Everyone loved the food, the staff was really friendly and thoughtful, and the cake was delicious (red velvet) and beautiful. We had a fairly easy time planning the reception. They are easier to contact by phone than by email. If you're thinking of having the reception in the Orchid room, the ceilings are low and the tables arrangements are fixed, but that worked out nicely for our intimate wedding. -

Would've been the perfect venue for us!
We planned to get married at the Moshulu, but unfortunately had to postpone our wedding due to family circumstances out of our control. However, the communication leading up the postponement and afterwards was great and we were so happy with everything, from the tasting to the entirety of the package plans, to the venue itself. It was gorgeous and beautiful, and we loved that the Moshulu + its team were so flexible. We wish communication had been a bit easier but we know that wedding and event teams are busy and it was not a dealbreaker at the end of the day. -

The food & the views
The Moshulu was the first wedding venue we toured and we fell in love with it. There was no other venue that was as beautiful and as special. We are so happy we booked here. The Moshulu staff; Jake & Rebecca, was amazing from start to finish. They were super flexible and tried to accommodate any request. They did not nickel and dime us like some other venues try to do but were really open to helping us and making our day as special as possible.
Our guest LOVED the food, I received rave reviews all night, they were especially impressed that it came out HOT which is something that many venues cant get right. The bartenders were also super fast and friendly, no one had to wait for a drink, which was impressive based on the size of our group. Also, the cake was so beautiful and delicious and was included in the price.
The staff assigned to my husband and I , Rob and Veronica were amazing. They made sure we had everything we needed and were always checking in.
Unfortunately, it was raining pretty hard during our ceremony and we did not have a beautiful back drop of the water, but towards the end of the night the panels were lifted and we were able to experience life on the water.
Overall our experience and our guests experience was a 10/10

Very pleased
A 5/5 review doesn’t do this venue justice. This venue is beautiful, impressive, and memorable. The staff is very professional and accommodating. From a pricing perspective, we felt that there was a lot included (e.g., large cake). -

Wedding and 1 year anniversary
My wife and I got married at this beautiful venue last summer and came back a year later for our 1 year anniversary celebration. First of all, the unique setting on the boat creates a truly special, romantic atmosphere and we were lucky to enjoy all the flowers which the Moshulu staff set up for mother’s day! Second of all, the service was great and the food and drinks were phenomenal- we received endless compliments from our guests!
Finally, Michelle the GM was incredible to work with, she made us feel welcome and valued, and took the time to listen to our feedback from the wedding, inviting us to host our 1 year anniversary at the venue with friends and family.

The Moshulu was a dream. It made for a unique wedding venue, which added to my guests' anticipation (including the requisite "I'm on a boat!" references), which added to our own excitement for our day. I'm not sure how a couple of the other reviewers tried to contact the service managers at the Moshulu, but we got pretty prompt replies each time we emailed, and on the two occasions we didn't, a quick follow-up phone call resolved it.
The staff service was very flexible. We had reserved the Bow Deck and the Chart House deck for the reception, but there was a significant chance of rain as the reception approached, so they called and let us know they'd switched our location a bit so that it was now the Bow Deck and the (below decks) Orchid Room. Everything went off without a hitch, and we didn't have to do a thing.
Finally, the quality: our guests could NOT stop raving about the food, especially the suckling pig and the amazing cake. For weeks afterward we got compliments! -

We had our ceremony on the Moshulu and loved it. We dealt with Chris throughout the whole planning process and he was awesome. He was responsive and flexible, especially because we kept changing the time. The day of we had Nick as our coordinator. He seemed like he was new, but that only meant he was trying that much harder to do a good job and he really did a great job. We had a rowdy wedding party and he managed them just fine. He catered to me (the bride) and helped in every way he could. Everything ran so smoothly we could not have been happier. Even our guests were amazed at how beautiful and elegant everything was. I highly recommend the Moshulu for your ceremony. I wouldn't have changed a thing. -

This is a BEAUTIFUL venue. The space photographs amazingly well and the food is spectacular. For us, a memorable, non-ballroom wedding with delicious food and wine and a good party were the most important parts of our wedding. This venue had all of that and then some. We also had our ceremony here, and it was lovely (we got married in front of the wheel!). The event staff were helpful and responsive, and were mostly very willing to work with us on our requests and needs. If we had it all to do over, we would most certainly host our wedding with these folks, but here are a few drawbacks to keep in mind: They do not do a tasting of their menu; you must pay to eat the food. We used a Groupon deal and brought some friends, so it was OK, but in a wedding planning environment where most venues will host you for dinner before you book, this was a little disappointing. Like I said, the food is fabulous, but we only knew that before we booked because we paid to find out. The venue has many levels and floors depending on how you arrange your event -- according to our DJ, we had "four" set-ups, which meant needing an extra DJ (we didn't know that until he told us in our consultation the week before our wedding. Luckily, he was amazing and worked with us to make it work without the added cost ... but other DJ's may not be that awesome). Finally, it's pricey, but you get what you pay for in terms of ambiance and atmosphere and service -- worth every penny, IMO. -

The Moshulu made our wedding. Seriously. The location is just different enough, without being too quirky. All of the staff prior to the event, during & after have been easy to work with. All the food was presented beautifully, and tasted wonderfully. The only suggestion I have, it to clearly talk though where the food on deck should be setup. The dessert buffet was setup very close to the dance floor, impeding flow a bit. Even with that caveat, I would recommend them for anyone looking for an elegant, albeit offbeat choice in a wedding venue. -

My wedding was the first time I was ever at The Moshulu. I was looking for an affordable option that my guests could drive to from New Jersey after the ceremony. I chose The Moshulu over Lambertville Inn, which was the same price and the same distance away from the ceremony site in NJ.
The catering manager was super nice and very easy to communicate with until the contract was signed, then she was pretty much unreachable until 3 days prior to the reception. This was really annoying as I was trying to send her images of a wedding cake for the baker at the restaurant - I had to send them a total of 5 times over e-mail, before my husband called her and she asked me to send it a 6th time and she finally responded to it.
The brunch was beautiful, the food was great. The waiters were amazing for the first 3 hours. Our contract was for 4 hours. The last hour, they were competing with having to take down the "other" brunch, which is the main brunch for the restaurant on Sunday. Because of this, I had to ask the bartender to bring in someone to cut the cake. (which the groom and I had already cut for photos 20 minutes prior). By the time they were prepared to serve the cake and take final tea/coffee orders, most of my guests were gone. Because of this, they started throwing cake into over a dozen plastic take-away boxes, many of which were left at the restaurant.
The cake, which traded in the contract instead of having petit fours, was supposed to be a pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese icing. The middle layer of icing was butter cream, which killed the effect, but probably saved The Moshulu money. It's sad that they skimped on something that they had agreed to do.
There is a major discrepancy between the cost of a buffet for the public (around $32 a person) and the Mermaid Buffet for weddings ($55. a head w/out extras). I can understand this to a point, as weddings are supposed to have "dedicated staff" for all 4 hours. The regular price for walk-ins includes unlimited alcoholic drinks. The wedding price does not include any drinks. I found it interesting as I tried to bargain before the contract was signed for them to throw in a glass of champagne for toasts. They agreed to 1/2 a glass of champagne? Kind of tacky.
Finally, after 3 weeks, there has not been one follow up with the restaurant. I never met the events coordinator that helped with the contract and, actually, there was no contact person that i ever met - even a the reception itself. I had follow up calls and emails from the hotels, the photographer - even the hairdresser - but not one from the restaurant. I am very disappointed by this. Weddings must be kind of like cattle that they herd through one at a time. Don't expect any warm customer care here.
The location is great for photo shoots. I would just be careful that you stress everything you need upfront in the contract. They came through 50%. Thus, my wedding reception was 50% perfect. Which, isn't perfect enough for the price paid in this economy along with the stress of planning. -

The Event Coordinator was not a good communicator - she kept calling & sending info to my business email/phone instead of my personal email/cell phone. She never answered all my questions at once - I always had to write several times or call to get complete answers. She got our guest menu inscription wrong even though I gave her specific written instructions, which she confirmed in writing. She told me my vegetarian guests would have several menu options and they were only given one. She told me my guests would not have to pay for parking, but when we arrived the parking lot did not know of our event. Worst of all, we pre-paid for 27 guests but lost 10 due to Hurricane Sandy and were not offered any consideration for the extraordinary event - not only did we not receive a refund, they still charged us for parking and premiums on the menu (+ tax & gratuities) even though we had already paid more than $600 extra. -

We held our high school reunion at the Moshulu last July. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. Long story short, they were unorganized, over-priced and inconsiderate. We paid them A LOT of money and the event certainly did not meet our expectations.
Our major problem was with the coordinator. At planning meetings she was argumentative and constantly cut us off, and via email she either ignored us or took way too long to reply. Then she did not even show up at our event —which was a total surprise to us.
To list a few other things: We made custom bar menus with the specials listed, and when we arrived that night they did not have the beers we agreed upon. Drinks were served in plastic cups. They did not provide ashtrays for the cigar bar like they said they would. The bartenders were asked to keep an eye on the cigars box and cutters, and we were missing some cutters at the end of the night. The extra food was thrown out and not wrapped up for us like we asked, and so on. It was awful.
And the worst thing was that we emailed and called them after the event to discuss what happened and they never replied. Not even a "thanks for hosting your event with us".
I'm in the event planning business and have never experienced such terrible customer service. -
