Walk the grounds of Morven Park and you'll see why it is such a special place. There are numerous areas to choose from. We held the rehearsal dinner at the Coach House and it was stunning. It is a beautiful place on it's own, add the lights over the cobblestones and a few of your own touches and it comes to life. We could not have been happier.

What a wonderful venue! We absolutely loved it. It's an absolutely beautiful location. The views are incredible, and Cheri is fantastic to work with. We were very happy we had good weather, while the rain locations are beautiful we wanted to be outside and we weren't disappointed!

This was a great venue and we loved it.

Cheri, the event coordinator, made everything flow smoothly from the pre-planning to the day of the event. She went way above and beyond the call of duty when having to solve a problem caused by another vendor. She was flexible and accommodating and we were truly lucky to have had her helping us!

We had our ceremony at Morven Park and it was BEAUTIFUL! We had it right in front of the mansion and we had the barn as a back up just in case it rained! Cheri was really great and very responsive to all of our needs! She worked wonderfully with our day of coordinator to put everything to together and to make sure everything ran smoothly! Our guests are still commenting on how beautiful the venue was. Our processional got to walk out of the mansion which was the icing on the cake! I highly recommend Morven Park, you will not regret having any type of event there plus you have the entire park for pictures! Also, since it is a historically park, your rental fee is considered a donation and you get to write off 80% of it off your taxes! The only complaint I have was the tour staff member that was standing at the desk was very rude when the processional came into the mansion to walk out to the ceremony. She acted like we were inconveniencing the tour which I understand that they do tours and we have to work around it but I was spending a lot more money to have my wedding there than people paid to take the tour so that was upsetting but other than that the day was perfect!

Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and it would not have been the same without the beautiful backdrop of Morven Park. Colleen was incredibly helpful, and walked through the grounds multiple times with us as we decided which spaces we wanted to use. She was also gracious enough to modify our contract slightly by moving our cocktail hour location, when we needed to cut back on expenses (you pay by the spaces used).

The only down side is the park has a prearranged partnership with Catering by Vintage, however this is barely a downside as the food/craft brews were amazing! It is quite pricey though, and although this is one of the most affordable venues we could find (its 75% tax deductible), the catering brought the price up significantly.

    Morven Park's reply:

In July 2015, Morven Park expanded its catering options for brides and grooms. We now offer on-site catering by Complete Catering and Events, as well as Purple Onion Catering, Design Cuisine and Occasions Caterers. Our preferred caterers offer couples a wide variety of choices and price ranges.

Morven Park was an absolutely stunning place to hold our wedding. From our first visit, we knew we wanted to have both our ceremony and reception there. They have many beautiful locations to choose from for both the ceremony and reception, varying in size, which allows you to hold a small intimate wedding or a larger one.

We were married in May in front of the reflecting pool underneath a magnolia tree and we had our reception in the “Coach House Courtyard”. If your wedding is smaller (100 or less) these were two excellent locations that I would recommend. For a small charge, the caterer even ran café lights over the courtyard for us which added a really nice touch.

The person to contact at Morven changed hands several times, however, they were always prompt in their response and easy to work with.

Morven Park has an exclusive catering agreement with the local company Catering by Vintage. Although not having a choice in caterer made us nervous at first, Catering by Vintage did an excellent job.

Since they are the exclusive caterer for this venue so they have an excellent understanding of how to setup, execute, and break down.

The food we were served was delicious, and we received many compliments from our guests. The service was very well executed. Another benefit of working with Vintage for our catering was that we were able to choose and serve 2 types of craft beer that they make at their restaurant.

The only point I would ding Catering by Vintage on is that over email they weren’t not as quick to respond as other vendors and occasionally needed to be contacted multiple times.

    Morven Park's reply:

We are happy to announce our expanded catering options, beginning in July 2015: on-site caterer Complete Catering and Events, Purple Onion Catering, Design Cuisine and Occasions Caterers, so you can create a menu that suits your taste and fits your budget.

We had a wedding we planned for in 5 weeks and morven park was incredibly flexible, allowing us to adjust things just a few days prior to the wedding. I'd recommend this site for any type of event. We had our ceremony by the Old Oak Tree, and hung up Chinese lanterns, then had the reception at the Coach House. It was incredible. I can't wait to see our pictures. Lovely site, and great group to work with.

Though the wedding coordinator changed between booking the venue and the day of, I always received the best service and assistance from both Heather and Colleen (the current coordinator). Not only was I accommodated pleasantly, I was always met with a kindness and warmth I didn't expect during wedding planning. Due to weather, I had to change my ceremony and reception location but with Colleen's help, things transitioned to the backup location without any noticeable hiccups. Judy was assisting on the day of as well, and I only heard good things from my wedding party. We loved everyone at Morven Park and I am that much more in love with the estate! All my guests fell in love with it too!

Love, love, love. My husband and I are so happy that our wedding reception was at Morven Park. It is a gorgeous, soulful venue. Our cocktail hour was in the carriage house museum and our reception dinner (140 people) and dancing were in the carriage house courtyard. The bridesmaids got ready in the carriage house, which was a perfect space for that. Recommend clarifying up front which parts of the park are available during your rehearsal and ceremony/reception. Cheri Conca was a pleasure to work with and very professional. Our guests seemed to really enjoy being at Morven Park. Highly recommend!!!

Morven Park is a wonderful venue to hold your wedding that has stunning scenery with a historic feel. The inherent beauty of the park makes planning décor easy since it is already very romantic and classy. When you rent the venue for your wedding you have the ability to choose almost any location throughout the park and the staff are very flexible and helpful in determining your ideal plan for the big day. The event coordination staff are very experienced and professional and made working with the preferred and outside vendors very smooth. We were thrilled to have our wedding here and everything turned out perfectly. We would definitely recommend this venue to all future couples.

We had an amazing wedding at Morven Park. With our cocktail hour in front of the mansion, lawn games on the lawn, photos in the formal gardens, and dinner on the croquet court, the entire experience was picture perfect. Working with Cheri was great, and she ensured a smooth event. Everyone who attended the wedding remarked on such an outstanding and picturesque venue. We highly recommend Morven Park!

I held my reception at Morven Park and I am glad I did! I had it in the coach house. It was beautiful! The area is beautiful and even in March before a lot of the foliage came out it was green because of the magnolias and the evergreen boxwoods so it made for a great backdrop to my wedding. Morven Park gives a list of preferred vendors, we did not go with the florist but the tent rental company they suggested was easy to work with and they know the place so they know how it should look. Cheri the property manager was great to communicate with and easy to work with. She definitely has your best interest in mind. She is a great go-between to talk to the vendors and the rental companies and wants to make sure you have a beautiful day.
The day of my wedding was a little chilly but with the tent and heaters it kept it reasonably warm in the courtyard of the coach house.
We used their Purple Onion catering and heard nothing but good news from guests. Which was a good sign because their in-house catering scared us when we went to a tasting. The food seemed to be left out and the manager for that was not easy to work with and contradicted many of the policies we had gotten in the first place. If you use a different caterer this place is the most wonderful place to have your reception and I am sure your ceremony too!

Morven Park is such an amazing place for a ceremony and reception! We loved the flexibility they offered us-we got to set up the reception area on the Friday before our wedding, we had the entire Saturday for our guests to spend at the park and then cleaned up on Sunday. We loved that they had beautiful outdoor options for our ceremony but an indoor option for the ceremony and reception in case of inclement weather. We loved the historic aspect of Morven Park, the mansion is lovely and can be made available for your guests to take private tours before the reception. The carriage house was a charming spot to have our cocktail hour and reception (dance space is limited). The grounds offer varied backdrops for your wedding pictures including gardens, the mansion, the iron gates, the historic oak, the reflecting pool and other areas that lend themselves to perfect wedding photos.

We found Morven Park, nestled away from downtown Leesburg, and instantly fell in love. We didn't want to have the wedding inside, and Morven Park offered so many different areas on site to have the reception and/or ceremony, that it worked out perfectly for us. The price for the location was lower than anywhere we had found, and it was 75% tax deductible, which was an added bonus! One of the biggest benefits that we found was that we could provide our own alcohol, set up the day before, and take down the day after (although those last 2 policies might have changed).

When we saw that there was a chance of rain for the wedding (something we found out the day before), Morven Park was quick to show us the rain contingency plans (although we still ended up having it outside and having the area tented for the reception). We were able to store our materials there the night before, which made the morning of the wedding go much smoother.

My biggest complaint about Morven Park is that I was never really sure of who my contact was there. I started out working with Heather, and then got an email that I would be working with Judith. I was never alerted that instead of Judith, I would be working with Colleen (although Judith still proved to be a big help). Colleen tried to tell us that we couldn't set up the day before the wedding and that we had to have everything out of the site the night of the wedding- I had to show her our signed contract that we got the space the day before and the day after. Also, when we found Morven Park, there was a list of 5-7 caterers that we could choose from, but starting in 2013, they were only using one caterer. Luckily, we signed the contract in 2012, so we could go with our preferred from the list; I don't think it's smart to only have one caterer to choose from (and it was one of the most expensive ones!).

Overall though, we got countless compliments on our wedding venue and we were very pleased with Morven Park.

Morven Park is a beautiful location. We had our ceremony in front of the mansion and our reception in the courtyard and both were great. All of our guests raved about how perfect the venue was. There were a few mix-ups regarding logistics in the week before the wedding that caused some stress. I'm sure that as this venue has more weddings held there, they'll get the kinks worked out.

Morven Park was a beautiful venue for our wedding. We loved the history behind the property and the backdrop for both the ceremony and the reception was breathtaking! The even coordinator was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable of the property. I would love to give the venue itself 5 stars, but there is one downfall, Morven Park has a contract with only one catering company, Vintage 50 Catering.
We did not enjoy our experience working with this company. The prices were a little high, but to be expected. The food itself was hit or miss, our dinner entrees at the reception were fantastic but our appetizers at the cocktail hour were "a miss". They were not the same appetizers we tried and selected during our tasting. Our biggest issue was the lack of professionalism and communication with Vintage 50. The staff took weeks to respond to e-mails and/or phone calls and had to be constantly reminded of our contract details (menu selections, dates, supplies etc.). The catering side of this company was completely disorganized and understaffed.
Overall, we loved Morven Park, we just wish that they would change their catering policy to allow other vendors the opportunity provide services that Vintage 50 Catering negligently monopolizes.

It is unfortunate that these category ratings are so low. The staff of Morvin park were excellent, they were more than accommodating, yet when it came to the catering, we were told that maybe Morvin park wasn't the place for us to be married. They have an exclusive partnership with Vintage 50, who would have been sufficient at half the price. Our cheeseburger egg rolls came out stuck together, cold and sliced resembling testicles. The only thing that was provided that was appetizing were the chicken tenders, to which I the groom was informed I was not allowed to have any. A) I am the groom B) I paid for the food C) Chicken tenders are awesome. My guests were also rudely told the same thing, not to touch them. Our wedding punch was beong poured out by the staff, and naturally we weren't allowed to even take any food home with us. Venue was great, but when it came to anything regarding vintage 50 we were expendable in Morvin Parks eyes. It is unfortunate that I have to give such a low review due to an exclusive vendor (who is allowed to subcontract out to different restaurants).
