    Gorgeous stained glass and awesome team

    This is an overdue review for Morris Chapel and our wedding events coordinator Jan Wammack. We had our wedding ceremony in August 2019, and words are not enough to express how happy we were choosing Morris Chapel for our wedding. I had jokingly mentioned about having a wedding there when I was a UOP student, and I am happy to say that it was an absolutely beautiful experience.

    From our first meeting with Jan, to our special day celebrating our union, Jan and her team fulfilled all our dreams. They put the "pro" in professionalism and really made us feel cared for during the whole planning process. We had an American vow exchange, as well as a Chinese tea ceremony there. There is a huge room for the bridal party to get hair and makeup done on site, and a smaller room for the groom and groomsmen to relax in. There's also a little alcove that is designated for that important 1st look, far away from early guests for maximal privacy. We also cannot forget to mention the gorgeous stained glass, so breathtaking in person and beautiful in photos. We also appreciated that we had plenty of seating for guests and indoor AC, an absolute necessity during the Stockton summer heat. Another plus is that there is plenty of parking for guests, and lots of pretty spots to take pictures around the chapel.

    Jan helped to create our wedding day timeline, select our processional music, and coordinated refreshments for the time between our two ceremonies. The music is clearly heard throughout the whole chapel, and we would strongly recommend adding the sound package to your wedding day; the sound tech blended everything in seamlessly. We loved how there was a 2-person team during the wedding rehearsal and during the wedding day; one person stayed with me (the bride) the whole time and the other would check on guests and venders. During rehearsal, the team gave us great ideas on seating arrangements for our families and even let us borrow a personal hot water dispenser for our Chinese tea ceremony. We had a bit of an emergency the day of due to a groomsman's pants splitting in the most unfortunate of places but the team came to the rescue with a sewing kit as part of their well-stocked emergency kit.

    If you are considering Morris Chapel for your wedding (or anything else), please be assured that you will be completely satisfied. Choosing Morris Chapel was one of the best decisions we made during our wedding planning...It's been months since our wedding, and my husband and I are still so grateful and happy to Jan and the team for making our wedding day so smooth and fabulous.

    Beautiful venue, exceptional team!

    Jan and her wonderful team were immensely helpful and kind as they helped us plan and execute our dream wedding. The beauty of the chapel speaks for itself on wedding day and there are chapels everyone in the country. What sets Morris Chapel apart is it's incredible team. Working with such gracious, caring people leading up to our wedding day brought such peace of mind! We are eternally grateful and HIGHLY reccomend this stunning venue as the perfect ceremony location.

    They returned my calls within a reasonable amount of time and worked with me to change the date because of a family emergency. It was everything that I dreamed of! All staff was very friendly. My mom broke her shoe on the way into the chapel and the coordinator gave her shoes up my mom for the weeding! Talk about dedicated to her job! I couldn't have asked for more from the staff and the venue.

    I used this venue for my wedding ceremony and it is absolutely beautiful! It can accommodate very large groups, and requires very little decor (flowers, etc.) because the venue itself already looks breathtaking. It has a brides room and grooms room which are spacious and perfect for last minute touches. The air conditioning works wonderfully, which is important for summer weddings. Areas outside the venue are perfect for great pictures, so no need to travel somewhere else for wedding pictures. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, my wedding day was stress free knowing the staff had everything under control. I highly recommend this venue for all types of ceremonies!!

    Ceremony here was beautiful very nice and spacious chapel great places for pictures and very nice place to have the ceremony overall thank you for everything!

    Morris Chapel was beautiful, we didnt decorate it at all, the colors of our wedding went perfectly with the colors in the chapel. All the staff were wonderful, very nice and helped make everything just that much easier!

    As a vendor for Morris Chapel, Briggs Photography, We find the staff easy to work with and flexible for you to choose how many hours you may need for your wedding. On the day of your wedding the staff will guide you through your wedding and ensure an obstacle free wedding !

    Our wedding was beyond amazing. The Morris Chapel staff helped me with planning my perfect day. they also went above and beyond with helping me choose my vendors. Our experience with the chapel and the chapel staff and the knowledge they have made my wedding day run very smoothly. I would recommend Morris chapel to all couples thinking about getting married in the Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto areas.

    Morris Chapel is a beautiful church, we had our priest come to perform the ceremony. The chapel falls under the umbrella of the Stockton Cathedral making the marriage completely recognized by The Church. The coordinator, a very nice woman, was not very familiar with a Catholic ceremony, and it is not customary for the priest to attend rehearsals whether it be in their home parish or away, this left some wedding mass parts unrehearsed and therefore missed during the ceremony. The parts missed were small "t" traditions and did not harm the authenticity of the marriage but they were things the Bride & Groom would have liked to have in their ceremony. Overall it was a beautiful day. My recommendations to Catholics using this chapel would be to inquire about having a slightly longer rehearsal, the coordinator was not willing to stay longer than the 1 hour given by the chapel, we would have been willing to pay any additional cost to have the time to get it perfect.

    Morris Chapel is a beautiful place to have a wedding. It didn't take much to decorate the chapel. We used pew bows with tulle draping and had christmas trees at the alter since it was a christmas wedding. The pictures came out amazing and I'm very happy we chose such a beautiful place to have out wedding. Jan was very helpful when it came to planning the ceremony. I enjoyed working with her. My complaint would be that I felt very rushed by my wedding coordinator the day of my wedding. I felt that she wasn't very friendly to myself or my bridal party and that she didn't care much about my wants or needs that day. Also the chapel was not cleaned prior to our arrival (which is insane considering we were the first wedding of the day) and my family was having to pick up garbage around the pews and dust off things up at the alter. The janitor services were in the chapel trying to clean up as we were setting up and you have very limited time in the chapel as it is. The janitor was also trying to deliver water to the bridal room as I was in there trying to get dressed already. Aside from those two complaints I still would highly recommend Morris Chapel to future brides. It's a beautiful chapel with many great places to get wonderful pictures!

    The staff at Morris Chapel was very helpful and organized throughout our planning process. We used them for our ceremony only, as they do not have a reception site large enough for our amount of guests. The manager is very "on top" of all payments and we felt very comfortable asking her questions.

    I really loved Morris Chapel. It was so beautiful and more than I could of imagined. The rose gardens and the beautiful Ivy all around. Every thing in side the chapel was great. The stained glassed windows and wood work was wonderful...Don't need much to decorate this place.

    Beautiful venue

    Absolutely beautiful venue , a little tough planning and working with them. There were multiple people that I had to try and work with to plan my wedding. Like a revolving door of who held the position to work with. Once we had a steady person Hannah was great and helpful. The wedding was beautiful. They do rush you a lot, from the rehearsal (it was really rushed) to the second after I said I do- they wanted you and your stuff out. So that was rough and made things stressful. But the grounds are beautiful and memorable.

    Beautiful! A little pricey, and they require a large insurance policy on it, but definitely worth it

    Thank you for your review. Morris Chapel is a beautiful historical and sacred chapel. For this reason, we ask all couples to provide a $1million event insurance policy for their special day. This insurance can be purchased for approx. $99 from WedSafe, or we also advise our couples to add the event insurance to their home and/or rental insurance (this is usually a cheaper option).

    Morris Chapel is a beautiful venue and I'm so glad that I picked it for my wedding. There were a few miscommunications along the way, but all in all, everything worked out. I do wish that they had an exclusive room for the bride, but it turned out to be ok.

    Thank you for your review. We do have a large beautiful bridal room that all brides as they get ready for their special day. This room was newly remodeled in 2017. Additionally, we have a small bride's room available for the bride to wait in at the rear of the chapel while her fiance processes into the beautiful Morris Chapel. This special and beautiful small room allows for fiance to move down the aisle without seeing his/her bride before her special moment of walking into the chapel when all eyes are on her.

    The venue was beautiful, but at the rehersal the planner was unprofessional. She was rude because they were behind on scheduling due to a wedding and so they rushed us through really quickly and the planner was in such a hurry on both the rehersal and the day of the wedding. The venue is really pretty inside and out though. The office staff was really good, they helped us choose music for our wedding and answered any and all question we had for our wedding day.

    Morris Chapel is an amazing location for a wedding. They are very experienced at wedding ceremonies. The grounds make the perfect backdrop for pictures. The grounds are beautiful all year long.

    Morris Chapel itself is beautiful. We didn't need to decorate the chapel at all because of the stained glass, candles, and the outside is gorgeous. However, the staff was less than perfect. It was difficult to get in touch with employees, no one called to set up a final detail appointment, and the day of coordinator, Steffani, was overbearing. Plus, the price is a little steep. I'm lucky I had the alumni discount.
