If you are looking for a DJ who truly "understands the assignment" and executes it with heart, look no further than Sawyer. From our very first phone call, his enthusiasm was infectious. We shared our vision for a "Pink Pony Club" dance featuring inflatable costumes, and he didn’t just say yes—he leaned in with genuine excitement. On the day of, he arrived impeccably dressed in a tuxedo to match our "black formal" dress code, showing a level of respect for our vision that set the tone for the entire night.
A Safe Haven and an Artist: As a gay couple, finding vendors who make you feel completely seen and safe is paramount. Sawyer wasn't just a professional; he was a sanctuary for us. He is more than a DJ; he is a sound artist. We gave him the freedom to mix from our playlist, and his transitions were seamless and inspired. What touched us most, however, was how he handled a deeply personal surprise. I wanted to play a voice recording of myself just before walking down the aisle. I was incredibly nervous about sharing such a vulnerable moment with a "stranger," but Sawyer immediately put me at ease. He protected that secret fiercely and executed the moment perfectly. It was one of the most precious memories of our lives.
The Full Experience: Vigilance & Care: Sawyer was there for us every step of the way, ensuring our day was stress-free. He even went so far as to stand watch from above during our first look to ensure no one entered that part of the beach or wandered into the background of our photos. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the small details couples often overlook, touching base often to guide us through the timeline with grace. His contagious energy is a reflection of a beautiful heart, and Denise is an equally wonderful soul who helped create these epic moments. If our wedding coordinator was our right-hand woman, Sawyer was undeniably our left-hand man.
Sawyer is a must-have. He didn't just play music; he helped protect and celebrate our love. Everything he did was, quite honestly, perfect.
Pro-Tip for Couples: You must get the upgraded lighting package! It made the dance floor an absolute blast, and seeing our professional photos afterward, the lighting truly brought the entire room to life. -

If you want your perfect dance party at your wedding, no matter the vibe from oldies to EDM, DJ Sawyer is along for the ride, using his years of experience and love for music to keep all your guests on the dance floor and having a wonderful celebration!

We loved working with DJ Sawyer! From the very beginning, he guided us so that we could curate our music selection to the extent that we wanted. He was so easy to work with- including helping us get some of our decor up to Lakeview lodge- not an easy venue to transport things to but so worth it. He kept the dance floor packed and the unexpectedly long guest speeches in check. He also helped us make our first dance fun and not too long- no pressure. I would highly recommend DJ Sawyer for a wedding. He made our day stress free. -

Sawyer is AWESOME! We hired DJ Sawyer for our October 2025 wedding in South Lake Tahoe and this was the best decision we could have made. The dance floor was FULL the entire night, and many guests have told us this was the most fun wedding they have ever attended. Sawyer took into account our requests while also assessing the vibe of the wedding and threw in some fun songs that really got the party going, with transitions that were seriously next level. DJ Sawyer was also just extremely easy to work with- he is experienced and professional, required minimal direction from us, and kept the entire event flowing, from the start of the ceremony, through the end of the night. He is more than just a DJ and truly was a key part of what made our wedding so unforgettable. -

DJ Saywer delivered above and beyond our expectations - many guests passed along their compliments after the fact. In planning, we had a few particular requests with regards to timing for ceremony songs and a pre-ceremony dance party, and DJ Sawyer delivered on all our particular requests and took it above and beyond. He is super charismatic for any announcements as well. He took our song inspiration and elevated it and matched the vibe of the dance party. He mixed songs together for some fun transitions and mixes that nobody expected which was beyond our expectations. We had such a magical night and so did our guests! Next time I would try to remember to get behind the DJ booth too! -

Romance and Vibes
This review is long overdue as our wedding was in April 2025, but our hearts burst with love and gratitude when thinking of Sawyer.
We asked for the Bay to come to Tahoe and he really delivered the best party of our lives! We could reiterate what other couples have said before us: DJ Sawyer doesn't do corny overplayed wedding songs, he brings his own set-up and will provide mics, as well as MC for you. He's responsive and vibey....but, that doesn't really encompass how he contributed to our wedding day.
Sawyer is thoughtful. When he noticed our late-night bites came out and the dance floor emptied from all of our friends, he adjusted the music accordingly and started to play Vietnamese music because our families were still there. We never asked him to play Vietnamese music. First of all, how do you even know Vietnamese party music and how did you adapt so quickly?
Sawyer is creative. We gave him 3 playlists for inspiration (cocktail hour, dinner, and the reception), but otherwise gave him creative freedom. He had the best remixes to songs that kept us on the dance floor all night. How do you have such an expansive, eclectic repertoire and seamlessly transition them?
Sawyer is more than just a professional vendor. He's a friend who truly cares about your personal experience with him and strives to make your wedding day as special as you deserve. He truly spends the time with you as a couple to reassure, give creative perspective and assuage your worries with care.
DJ Sawyer is the best in the business and you would be doing yourselves a favor to have him as part of your vendor team. We did and were lucky to have him. -

DJ Sawyer was amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better DJ. While talking to him on the phone to prepare for the event he had such a good vibe and energy, providing great suggestions on the timeline and ideas on various things we wanted done. During the event he played music in a way that kept the vibe going as he continuously read the audience, as well as observing the guests and how the event was progressing along. He also helped so much with the timeline to ensure everything ran smoothly, coordinating with our photographer and videographer as well as food servers... and coming up with ideas as the event moved along to make different things in the timeline work out for the better. He helped make our event amazing and run smoothly! Anyone who hires him for their event will not regret it.

Sawyer went above and beyond for our wedding! The music was on point. He guided our wedding from before our ceremony until the very end. He made sure the wedding was about us and our guests. Sawyer is an amazing DJ and so much more. I remember him bringing us champagne, helping with our cake and checking in with us through the night in subtle ways. Sawyer is organized and flexible and really made us feel at ease. He is available, kind, communicative and a lot of fun. DJ Sawyer was hands-down one of the best parts of our wedding. He kept everything flowing perfectly with his flawless MC skills and had the dance floor packed from the first song to the last. Leading up to the big day, I had major decision/task paralysis; we filled out part of his super helpful music questionnaire but didn’t finish picking some key songs. It was totally no stress for Sawyer though — he literally said, “I got this,” and then chose songs that were even better than what we would’ve picked ourselves. He got us and our crowd so well -- at one point, without any prompting, he dropped Bay Area rap — and our SF-based crowd went wild. It was like he knew exactly what our guests wanted before we did. So many of our friends asked for his info afterward — he’s that good. Super easy to work with, insanely talented, and just an all-around vibe. Book him now!!! -

Hands down the best decision we made for our wedding was hiring DJ Sawyer! He is unlike any other wedding DJ we’ve ever experienced.
He brought the most calm energy to family before their speeches & honestly helped us plan our our entire evening of events and kept us to the timeline. He pumped tunes while photos were happening before the ceremony, which doesn’t sound like a huge deal but it completely changed the vibes of the photos in the most comforting way and everyone was immediately impressed.
And now to the fun part… he couldn’t have read the party full of people better. He played the BEST variety of music. We wanted more of a DJ set with mixes and surprises and more of an EDM/house feel. He delivered that but also did SOOOO much more. Felt like we were at a festival with all our favorite people! He kept the entire party (young and old) on the dance floor the entire night. He made EVERYONE feel included in the party and we couldn’t be more grateful. The videos of the packed, silly and vibrant dance floor speak for themselves.
He allowed us (bride & groom), the bridesmaids, and my Dad to come behind the DJ stand throughout the evening to run point on some of the (easier) mixes aka telling us exactly what to do and when. It was an experience we will never forget. And the photos of us behind the stand are some of our absolute favorites. You can see the pure joy on everyone’s faces and it’s all due to Sawyer’s inviting, exciting and incredibly patient energy.
Anytime we’re asked what our favorite part of the entire day was, we both immediately without hesitation say “DJing with DJ Sawyer”. Truly the best of the best! Not only was he the talk of the entire beach party the following day, but we had multiple people ask for his set list. So Sawyer, if you’re reading this, we’d love to relive the evening with your set list for our next party!
For anyone still unsure on who to go with, this is your sign. DJ Sawyer is a MUST! Our favorite part of our entire day and that’s a huge feat. -

Sawyer MADE our wedding. We gave him songs we loved and needed to be played at our wedding and he absolutely delivered. He even got my 90 year old grandmother on the dance floor! We had a pretty big sound issue with the sound system at our venue and Sawyer completely saved the day, got everything up and running and sounding incredible with all his own equipment. We gave DJ Sawyer a unique ask to blend the music he played across different decades as we had a variety of age groups in attendance. DJ Sawyer was nothing short of the PERFECT DJ for our wedding. He has such a fun personality, he is great at giving recommendations, and also very receptive to whatever you want. My phone call with him was so easy as he led and asked all the right questions to make sure every detail was covered. His platform is very easy to use to enter all the songs you want throughout the night for each part of your event as well as just any genre you want to play. You can let him know must play songs as well as must NOT play songs. I had countless people come up to me that night and even weeks following our wedding saying it was the best wedding they have ever been to and that is mainly because of the music. The dance floor was our biggest priority for the night, and he delivered! Not once was the dance floor empty. He knows how to keep the party going and he is not on the microphone all night. He is a great MC and is so beyond amazing at his job! I wish everyone could have him as their wedding DJ! -

DJ Sawyer was awesome and truly helped make our wedding. He was very helpful pre-wedding with planning, helping with our timeline, and allowing us to choose the music we wanted to hear. On the day of the wedding, not only was the music great but he was a very key part of making sure our wedding day was organized, on-time and went as smoothly as possible.
In regards to music, we requested not-so-traditional music in the EDM/Dubstep genre. Let me tell you, DJ Sawyer crushed it. He not only played the songs we wanted him to play, but also took the time to plan a mix with them. It was exactly what we were looking for and we got so many compliments from our guests.

Sawyer was amazing. We originally planned a winter wedding in Tahoe but then decided to elope 6 months earlier. We were able to move our deposit up and have him DJ our small reception at the Beach Retreat. He did such a wonderful job of reading the vibe and getting our small group of 20 to dance the night away. We enjoyed working with him so much we paid for him to travel down to our hometown 4 hours away to DJ our large 175 guest reception. Again he blew our minds. H let me (probably reluctantly to him) take the mic after a few too many whiskeys and he laughed and had fun with us the whole night. He has great energy and is so much fun. He listens and understand what his clients want. We can't wait to have another reason to work with him or just visit him in Tahoe for some fun! -

DJ Sawyer was phenomenal. He ensured our wedding flowed effortlessly and was organized, professional, and lovely. He nailed the background music for happy hour and crushed our playlist for the wedding reception. He effortlessly wove our two musical tastes together. There were never technical issues and our venue was in the middle of nowhere with no wifi... we have no idea how he did it! 10/10 would recommend. Sawyer was the absolute best! We did not leave the dance floor once the entire night, and my favorite memories from the wedding are dancing with my husband and guests. We could not have picked a better DJ for our wedding! We contacted a few different DJ's and he was the most responsive. When we spoke with him on the phone his fun, energetic personality makes you feel comfortable and in good hands. He provides an easy to navigate website and song suggestions to help keep you organized. On the day of our wedding, his experience shined through! We didn't have to think about a thing as he had it all taken care of. As my husband and I can feel uncomfortable being the center of attention he makes the night feel natural and keeps the evening flowing smoothly. He even went above and beyond grabbing cocktails for us and helping release tables for the buffet. DJ Sawyer made our wedding the perfect night! We highly recommend DJ Sawyer! -

My husband and I are so happy we hired Sawyer as our DJ! Music is very important to us both, and we wanted someone who could help keep the vibes up high all night and read the the room when needed. We interviewed many DJs and are so happy we decided to go with Sawyer. Not only was Sawyer incredibly professional throughout our wedding planning process, he was also incredibly kind and provided great insight with timelines! So many guests came up to us and told us how fun the dancing! Sawyer brought in lights on the dance floor and it was a really fun atmosphere. We had guests on the dance floor at all times during our reception! Sawyer also helped us navigate the Hora - a traditional Jewish dance - which our guests loved! At the end of the night, Sawyer felt like another guest at our wedding, rather than a hired vendor! We love Sawyer! Hire him if you want the best dance floor! -

He is the BEST!
Having everyone on the dance floor all night was one of our top priorities and Sawyer delivered! We had different vibes for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception and Sawyer nailed all three. From our short phone conversation he understood exactly what we were looking for and helped us pick out some key songs. I'm so glad we took his suggestions for changing the timeline our wedding planner had because they worked out so well. He really understands how to keep a crowd engaged. We had a wonderful time dancing the night away at our best friend's wedding way back in 2017. Once it came time to start planning our own wedding in 2021, we knew we wanted to find the same DJ! Sawyer was the absolute best! Can't recommend him highly enough. He was in touch well in advance of the wedding helping us plan the small and big details, and was willing to go above and beyond to make our vision a reality. On the wedding day, he showed up early to get all of his equipment in place and to coordinate with the vocalist we had for the ceremony. When myself and the groom arrived at the venue, he was there for every step of the day to make us as comfortable as possible and to let us know what to expect. He was a true professional and knew exactly what we needed to do to make it a smooth day! At the same time, he brought the party and had the dance floor going the entire night. His awesome setup with lights for the dance floor was an added bonus, and he knew exactly what songs to play depending on the timing of the evening to keep the energy going. Sawyer absolutely showed up 110% for us at our wedding in the middle of a pandemic. He brought his own lights, helped keep the vibe of the party rolling and mingled with the vendors and guests so he felt like he was apart of our wedding just as much as the next person. We had a small 50 person wedding and Sawyer made sure that each and every person giving a speech had a mic, knew when they were going to speak and even prepared them long ahead of time that it was happening. As the bride, I knew I was in good hands and could just let him work his magic. On your wedding day, that is truly a gift to be able to know that everything is in control. The most lit wedding dance floor!!!
Holy smokes, Sawyer created SUCH a fun, club-banger, EDM vibe at our wedding. It’s no secret that 2020 has been awkward for wedding planning, and after multiple venue changes and guest list decreases, we were just hoping for one incredible celebration together as we tied the knot. We didn’t want a standard “wedding playlist” for our dance floor, and we made that clear in the beginning. Sawyer played some of the best remixes of songs that had our guests talking for days! We even brought a wacky-wavy guy on the dance floor and Sawyer incorporated him into the whole party. I can’t recommend him enough; he was attentive, listened to our requests while allowing his incredible talent to shine through, and was on time and such a wonderful emcee. Thank you, Sawyer!! -

My husband is very particular about his music, so with that along with the already stressful aspects of planning a destination wedding and not being able to meet vendors in person, I was very anxious to find the perfect DJ. However, from the initial phone contact with Sawyer we both felt so comfortable. He was always very responsive as well as extremely professional, knowledgeable, and receptive to all our ideas.
Sawyer was a great DJ/Emcee from the start of our ceremony and all the way through to the last song. He was always ensuring our guests knew what was going on and definitely was able to feel our crowd. His high energy and amazing DJ skills kept EVERYONE dancing all night long.

DJ Sawyer was absolutely phenomenal! He truly made our wedding so special. I was stressing while looking for DJs trying to find someone who would be able to accomodate our Harry Potter theme and do it well, and I came across him in numerous reviews and knew he would be able to do it! He was EXTREMELY easy to work with and made our wedding as magical as it could be! He communicated so well throughout all the planning and of course the wedding! I'm a videographer and have shot 2 weddings now with Sawyer as the DJ. I have shot many weddings and no offense to other DJ's (there are obviously some good ones out there) but Sawyer is the only one I refer people to. As weird as it sounds, he has helped make my videos look more alive, as everyone feels the energy from Sawyer and he understands the flow of how the wedding is supposed to go and makes it happen with ease. Sawyer of Moonlight Mobile was SUCH a great choice for our wedding! His help leading up to the wedding day, including excellent communication, planning phone calls, guidance and advice regarding our venue (including answering questions we had that were not just specific to the music - he knew our venue and was happy to share all that he could to help us plan our day perfectly), and ideas and nudges in the right direction on music choices in order to get the crowd on their feet, was only surpassed by his performance ON the wedding day, where he MC'd perfectly (helping to guide the evening and keep up the energy just the right amount, without spending too much time on the mic), played our music selections with perfect timing, created an atmosphere for the ULTIMATE dance party, and made us feel like absolute rockstars. His amazing attitude, obvious enthusiasm, love for his job - which is clearly also his passion - and ability to make you feel like the only couple in the world, when he definitely works with tons and tons of couples, are just a few of his stellar qualities. My husband and I hired Sawyer to DJ at our wedding in Tahoe this summer. He was hands down so amazing to work with from start to finish. He was very professional and great at responding to emails and all our needs. The night went perfectly and transitioned from the ceremony, to dinner, into the cake cutting and dancing of portion of the night so smoothly because of how Sawyer helped us set up the best timeline.
The second people stepped foot onto the dance floor they never got off of it. We all had so much fun and the music was so perfect for all of our guest. People were dancing all night long, and I can say that I have been to less then a handful of weddings where that has happened.
One of the most important things I wanted for our wedding was a 5 star DJ because everyone knows a DJ can make or break the wedding, and Sawyer well exceeded that. He kept our guest, my husband and I and our families so happy. The following day we all talked about the night and reminisced on how much fun we had on our wedding day. We all couldn't stop talking about the dance floor and how good Sawyer was and that is the honest truth!!!

Sawyer was a pleasure to work with throughout our whole experience.
He was very communicative while we had questions when shopping and deciding on our DJ, and stayed that way through the wedding day.
He was helpful with helping us with ideas and explaining some of his thoughts about what songs would be good to use for what parts of the wedding.
On the wedding day he was so kind and made sure that not only were my husband and I comfortable, but that we knew he had everything under control. He truly walked us through so many pieces of that day, including what to do when we walked in for our announcement (we are not naturally big dancers). He also made our guests and wedding party comfortable. He was very quick to help make sure our Best Man and Maid of Honor knew exactly when it would be their time for their toasts, and mentioned how they could easily wrap it up and hand it off to the next in line.

From the very beginning we both felt comfortable and confident that he was going to be the perfect fit for us. He's professional and so down to earth which made it an even easier decision for us. The process was very organized and he was quick to respond to the many questions I had about wedding music. I am a little bit of a perfectionist and went a little nuts thinking about the timing of songs, the length of songs, what kind of songs to play for different parts of the wedding and the best decision I made was to let go and let Sawyer do his thing! The timing of everything and the flow worked so well. We continue to hear from family and friends what a fun time they had on the dance floor thanks to Sawyer. We couldn't be more grateful!
