We had our Rehearsal dinner for our wedding in the beer cellar of Moon River Brewing co. Yvonne was amazing to work with during the planning process. As well as the entire staff who ran our event the day of. I was so stressed out the days leading up to our wedding, but as soon as I got to Moon River, the staff took the lead, and I immediately calmed down. They were so amazing to us, and took really great care of us. From the room set up to the food, everything was what we asked for. They even went out of their way to put decorations on the tables, which looked great. Our guests said that was the best rehearsal dinner food they had ever had! I want to thank everyone at moon river for amazing service and compliments to the chef!

Hosted a wedding reception last weekend in the beer cellar for approximately 80 people. Totally wonderful experience. The staff went UP and BEYOND in making sure that things ran perfectly. The food was great, the beer outstanding, and the cellar looked magical with the brick walls, arched doorways, wine barrels. We only needed to bring twinkling lanterns, several flower centerpieces. Would highly recommend this venue, for a fun, "Savannah" style reception that won't bust your budget!

We had our rehearsal dinner at Moon River in the cellar, their private event space. When we arrived, everything was set up perfectly, looked beautiful, and was ready to go. Our friends and family got drinks immediately and they took our order as soon as we were ready. Despite ordering off the full menu on Friday night (instead of doing a limited menu or buffet), the food came out quickly and not one single item, of 29, were wrong. Every staff person was in a great mood, super helpful, and just all around nice to work with. Of all the experiences we had in Savannah, our guests still rave about the food, the drinks, and the staff at Moon River.

Shaleena Twele and her team at Moon River Brewing Company on Bay Street in Savannah, Georgia made our wedding rehearsal wonderful on 10/24/2014! We had our rehearsal in the outdoor beer garden and it was amazing! We did a limited menu and Shaleena worked with us to stay within our budget. The staff decorated our tables beautifully and sweetly incorporated some of our favors. They decorated a sign with our wedding party information and it was absolutely adorable! The servers assigned to us with VERY attentive, professional, and absolutely amazing! The food was fantastic and all of our guests left happy! The entertainment was the Jimmy Wolling Band that evening and was the perfect complement of gorgeous blue grass music. I cannot thank Moon River enough for showering our guests with such wonderful service as many of them were from various parts of the United States and various parts of the world. They truly showed them what Southern Hospitality was all about. They are the best!

Food and drinks were amazing! The rustic downstairs cellar room could not have been a better setting for our rehearsal dinner!

Best location ever for a rehearsal dinner!!!!! We had ours in the beer cellar. The food was AMAZING!!!!!!! We even had leftovers!!! Drink specials run all night. Our wedding was a destination wedding so we wanted to have a chance to see everyone who traveled without having a huge bill. We did our dinner with our bridal party, and then opened up the room for drinks and cake afterwards for a meet and greet social. It was a HIT!!!! I would ABSOLUTELY do another event at Moon River Brewing Company. Perfect environment for a private social that's not too formal, not too casual, and very unique and memorable. Wonderful night!!

My fiancé and I were looking for a historic space to have our reception for our small destination wedding. We choose the cellar at Moon River Brewing Company and we couldn't have been any happier with our choice. We originally booked our date for October 22 and had to move it to November 5th. Shaleena was more than accommodating with this. Then due to unforeseen circumstances( again) we had to move our date to November 12th. Shaleena was more than happy to move our date and deposit again. Shaleena provided outstanding customer service! We travelled to Savannah one weekend to meet our vendors and wanted to try the food at Moon River Brewing Co. Shaleena had us pick our food options and make a reservation. We arrived for our reservation they seated us and the food came right out, and it was delicious. We were expecting high quality brew pub food, but this was so much better, fine restaurant quality steak and salmon. On wedding day the food was delicious, all the decor was set up exactly where my fiancé had instructed and the service was unbelievable. Shaleena had one of her trainees running our reception( I believe her name was Yvonne) she tended to all of our questions and made sure everything ran smoothly and that all my guests were taken care off. I can't recommend them enough!

We used the cellar area for our rehearsal dinner. It was so much more than I even expected. What a great space! Everyone had a great time, great food, and very friendly and professional staff. I could not have asked for anything better.

The team at Moon River is phenomenal! They were accommodating, answering every question we had and allowing us to decorate prior to the Big Day. The food and drink packages are affordable and delicious - our guests raved about the bacon wrapped filet and mashed potatoes! The space held our 50 person guest list comfortably and afforded us space to dance and give speeches easily.

Shaleena was very easy to work with. Only downfall with responsiveness is that she only works certain days of the week, but she was very flexible and always answered our questions.
My husband and his mother set up tables the way we wanted and our own decor on the day of (there were events the day prior). And the staff did the rest. The Beer Cellar is a great venue for smaller receptions. Great atmosphere and love the exposed brick walls and wine barrels.

The food was delicious. We got many compliments. Just wish the soup would have been served hotter (it was delicious but lukewarm). The staff ensured everyone was taken care of and our cake was brought out on time.

Originally was going to play our own playlist but enjoyed the Christmas music they had playing so kept that instead.

My husband and I had our 1st date at the Moon River Brewing Company so when we found out we could have our small wedding reception in the cellar it was perfect. We only about about 30 guest so the space was just right. They also did a great job decorating, which saved us money! Plus they set up our cake, toasting flutes, and servers beautifully.

Our Rehearsal Dinner was held in the cellar at Moon River. Moon River was our hands down our favorite restaurant when we lived in Savannah. So when my husband and I decided to return to Savannah to get married we knew that some part of our event would have to be held at this location. I'm so glad that we did. The food was amazing as ever, there was a nice selection from the menu and our special requests were accommodated by their staff.

Understand that if you group is large you want to make sure that your guests arrive at or after your agreed on start time, as you will not have access to the space for mingling prior to your event, and there is not space except the sidewalk outside the restaurant for you to wait.

There is not a lot in the way of provided decor, so be aware that you will need to rent/come equipped with anything you might want. However the beauty of the historic building alone was enough for us.

There was a small mus-understanding over the menu, it reads as though the salads are included, which they weren't, and resulted in an extra $4 per person charge. It seems a small thing but the documents should accurately reflect the prices, because when you're planning a wedding, things get pricy quickly and it's easy for a number of seemingly small things like that that can really effect your overall budget.

Also, the event planner is only really accessible on Thrusdays, she was fairly responsive, but it was a little tricky to plan around her schedule to get answers and make payments, etc.

Also, be aware that various ghost tours come through the building, and while they are not meant to, a tour came through during our dinner. We just laughed it off, but be prepared, if the hostess isn't on her game, your event might be just another stop on the tour.

Aside from those little hick-ups, the dinner was great, the staff very attentive, and in our opinion you can't beat the beer and food at this location.

Really for the laid back bride that just wants to have great food and relax. There were some issues such as food items that were not served and cake that wasn't cut but really nothing major (it was just the dinner rolls). I tried to get the staff to dance and have fun but they were right into working. They kept drinks filled and food coming. Not for a bride that wants something "upscale" but the historical building gives a great backdrop and limited decorations are needed.

This review is difficult for me! My husband and I loved this restaurant during our many visits, so when we found out they had a lovely beer cellar we decided to take advantage of the Savannah history. Most of the staff was very polite and accommodating throughout the process with the exception of the lengthy time it would take to get a response from someone. During the event the staff were all very kind and went out of their way to make sure everything ran smoothly!

My biggest complaint came to the final payment… As I being the bride did not carry my credit card with me I asked which card they had on file. The gentleman who was in charge (who was not the gal I had been working with throughout the process) gave me the wrong information. Upon reviewing my credit card I realized they charged the incorrect card. I immediately called them and provided them with the correct card and asked them to correct the issue. 2 weeks later and countless phone calls I had been charged 4 times for our 1 night! After calling every day and requesting to speak with the owner (who may I add refused to return my phone calls), they eventually did manage to get the issue corrected.

Ultimately they have good food and a good dining atmosphere, but I would not hold an event at this location again.

Over all the food was great, but the AC broke and while they did offer us a small discount, I wasn't pleased with the way it was handled. They told us that they don't do a lot of events in the room we were in because it gets hot in the summer. It would have been nice if they had told us that was the case if that was the truth. I even mentioned to the manager in the morning when we went to set up that it was a bit hot in the room and he didn't seem to care and brushed me off. Overall the service was good and the food was good and we made the best of it, but would have liked if the manager had listened to me in the morning and the issue was resolved before we got there that night.

Overall everything was great. The food was great, the venue was great, the people were great....my one complaint is that they lied and told people the bar was closing so that people would take 2-3 drinks at a time, therefore skyrocketing the cost at the end of the night. Extremely disappointed in this!
