Food and service was great, good people.

We had a buffet and open bar. Everyone loved the food and many remarked on how smoothly everything went. They also supplied table linens, china and utensils, along with cocktail tables, and could have done more if we needed it. I recommend them very highly!

Simply perfect!

Monrose is led by a capable, complimentary duo. Richard Chesterfield will make you feel at home and well taken care of, and will share a great story or memory, while Donna can take a vision and execute flawlessly. She is a pro's pro... She is direct, clear and a quick problem solver. The food reflects their strengths - classy without being pretentious, well presented, but above all else, fresh and delicious! We got numerous compliments from start to finish. The simplest things were done perfectly - chicken moist, veggies grilled beautifully, fantastic fresh bread! Our dessert table was a work of art. Ask Donna for suggestions, and take them, she knows better than you do. Each employee seemed to be an experienced pro. And in the end, a darn good value (especially for LA)! We had a ton of very good vendors for our event, but Monrose was the best, period.

An amazing caterer and so much more

Donna and her team catered our 100 person wedding back in October. We read hundreds of reviews about caters all around this region and ultimately decided to go with Monrose, and we are so, so grateful we did. As others have said in the reviews, this lady and her team absolutely kill it the day of. I'll start off with telling about the stuff you hire her for - the food, service and price. The food was absolutely fantastic and all of her staff were kind, courteous and efficient. The Chef Carved Tri-Tip was delicious, and the warm chocolate chip cookie with an ice cold milk shot was a perfect way to end the night. The pricing was honestly a steal compared to other caterers and the quality food you get. Every one we talked to raved about the food, including the couple vegan dishes she made special for our friends. In regards to what you hire her for, you will not be disappointed in the least because her and her team are absolutely amazing at what they do. What the real surprise was and best part about her were all the extra things she does to make sure you and your loved ones are taken care of that day. Donna felt like the ultimate wedding mom that was there to make sure everything went smoothly. She stood with my dad and I before the ceremony holding my train and talking to me to calm my nerves. When it was time, she walked with us (train in hand to avoid getting dirty) to the beginning of the long aisle and situated my train one last time to make sure it looked great. She was taking care of things that other vendors should have been doing - or even our coordinator. We had one instance where our rental company brought the wrong table for the desserts (they brought a sitting bench that was less than 2 feet tall). I think Donna saw the disappointment on my face when she told me what they had brought because (somehow, without me even knowing) Donna got the right table there before anyone noticed. Then, when a pipe burst the water went out and the restrooms were out of order during part of cocktail hour, Donna was there reaching out to the venue to get the water back on. She took care of so many details and her response was always "don't worry, it's taken care of". Mind you, those were the things we noticed. I can't imagine how much more she took care of without us knowing. She checked in on us a few times during dinner to make sure we had time to eat amongst all the chaos. Honestly, I could go on and on about how much I adore Donna and her team. I will, without a doubt, recommend Monrose Catering to anyone looking for an exceptional event caterer.

I highly recommend Monrose for any event!!! We were blown away by the quality/care/delicious food they provided for our wedding. Donna made the entire process easy and stress-free. From initial contact to the tasting to the wedding—Donna and her team were incredible! She helped me put together the perfect menu for my event. The food she suggested was AMAZING! I have since had countless guests tell my husband and I how much they especially loved the food! Monrose even worked with our florist and wedding cake baker to ensure we have a seamless, well-put together event! And, at the end of the night, they left the venue cleaner than it was when they came!! I can't thank them enough for the personal, easy, reasonably priced, customer-centered experience they provided for us!

Monrose did our wedding catering and we cannot recommend them enough! They were flexible on the menu, transparent with the pricing and the FOOD!! Yum. :) The food was delicious, fresh and flavorful. The quality of the service was fantastic and Donna is phenomenal. She runs the show! I could relax and enjoy my wedding day thanks to her seamless hard work. They are an outstanding catering company and we will happily work with them again!

Monrose Catering was professional, accommodating, and absolutely a dream to work with! Donna and her team did our 20th Anniversary party, and it was beyond anything we could have expected. Now, I am looking for every excuse to throw a party, just to have Donna and her team back! The planning was a breeze. Donna listened to what we wanted, and had the most incredible suggestions. And...when my florist messed my center pieces up, Donna helped save the day by arranging my store-bought flowers. The food and service were AMAZING, and I am still getting compliments on my caterer. The servers were responsive and accommodating, and Donna stayed on top of every little detail. I didn't have to worry about a single thing. The passed hors d'oeuvres were plentiful and delicious, and the food stations were out-of-this-world fantastic! Everything was fresh, hot, flavorful, and creative. It was wonderful for me to just show up and be a guest at my own party. I truly credit Donna for making the party a smashing success! Thank you so much Donna!!!

You will not be disappointed in selecting Monrose Catering, they are the BEST! The staff at Monrose is most professional.
The bar tender, the chef, the serving staff all were pleasant and had smiles on their faces all of the time. The food was

Donna and Richard and their amazing staff made my son's wedding absolutely perfect. The food was excellent, the service stellar and they anticipated wants and needs we hadn't thought of to make the most memorable day. They are truly the BEST! We love Monrose.

Donna and her team made our wedding at the Malibu Phoenix truly memorable from start to finish. They made my family (and us, the bride and groom) feel like VIPs and were on top of everything throughout the night. They let us use some of their supplies for our dessert table and throughout the event, even though our desserts were provided via a bakery, which saved us money on rentals. The guests raved about the food and service all night. We also hired Monrose bartenders to serve the alcohol we purchased ourselves and they too were top notch (and fun!). I should also note that from a budget standpoint, Monrose was very competetive, especially for LA!

Monrose Catering Too provided table-and-chair set up and takedown, cocktail hors-d'oeurve bites, bar service, tableware rental liaison, a fabulous reception dinner (family style) service, and desserts. In a word, every aspect of our interaction with Monrose was AWESOME. And, Monrose's services were without a doubt one of the best values of all the vendors we utilized. These folks are world-class...highly recommended!

My family has known the owners of Monrose Catering for years... they have always been wonderful! Richard and Donna are above and beyond AMAZING! My family would recommend them to everyone! We are still getting wonderful reviews from our guests on the food and drink... they were in heaven it was so good! Which we never had a doubt about! Not only are they on top of their game with great product, timely correspondence and professionalism, but they make you feel warm and welcomed all the time. They go above and beyond for their clients. I couldn't have asked for a better presentation and taste for my black tie wedding! I love them and hope that you give them the opportunity to make your special day amazing as well!

I plan on hiring them for every other event I ever do. Monrose Catering was amazing. Our main contact was Donna. They were all so wonderful, I don't even know where to begin.

I had this idea that I wanted 3 different food stations at my wedding with 3 different types of food. To have people up and moving between all three stations, getting some of this food over here, and getting up for seconds to that station over there. And Monrose made it come to life. They created a Meat & Potatoes station (basically all my favorite Thanksgiving foods), a Chinese food station (even to be served in little Chinese food to-go containers and chopsticks), and a Mexican food station (make your own fajita/tacos). They managed to make it all so fantastically gourmet and yet not too fancy that it no longer resembled the foods that I know and love.

Not only that, but they created beautiful displays for all their foods, and created a custom Lemonade Table for me for my guests prior to the wedding. They even created custom hors d'oeuvres that I wanted to have. My mother is gluten free, as well as a few other wedding guests, and they even made gluten free versions of items for the people who needed.

Their service was fantastic. Their customer service was fantastic. Their food was fantastic.

Hire them. They were one of the best decisions I made for my wedding.

I have nothing but good things to say about Donna and her staff at Monrose Catering. I just had my wedding in Malibu on October 18, 2013 for 140 people. Donna was extremely flexible in providing us what we wanted within our small budget. The food was outstanding and even had guests raving during and after the wedding. I did not have a coordinator, and Donna stepped in free of charge to organize and run everything! The staff were fun, friendly and professional and got the job done. We brought our own alcohol. Donna allowed us to bring her the alcohol a few days prior to the venue so that she could transport it the day of the wedding. For a small fee of $50.00 she offered to bring an extra truck to bring the centerpieces back, as we could not leave them at the venue. She was very quick in responding to any questions or concerns either I or my mother had about the wedding.

Overall, if you use this caterer, you will have great tasting food at a reasonable price and fun, friendly and professional staff. Donna went over and beyond her duties as a caterer to make my wedding special and run smoothly--free of charge! I couldn't have done it without her. Thank you Donna!

Excellent service and delicious food. Who needs a coordinator when you have Donna who runs the company. She paid attention to every little detail from the lemonade stand to the mason jars to the paper straws. Everyone loved their food and hospitality. Highly recommend them for any type of wedding.

Almost 10 days later and i'm still getting compliments from wedding guests about how amazing our food was! Donna and her team were amazing from the first moment we met them! Donna was always quick to respond to emails, the first to suggest ways to save money, and we always felt like she had our back in terms of all things catering etc.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Donna and Monrose Catering.

Do yourself a favor and hire Monrose for your big event! She will take care of all details and you will not have to worry about anything in terms of catering/ details.

Monrose Catering was fantastic. I used them to cater my wedding at Malibu West Beach Club. We did a "passed appetizers" all night long and for the first time ever, I heard people actually say "they loved the food at this wedding." Most wedding I attend are all mass-cooked boring buffet style food. I had 8 different trays being passed around all night long until people stopped eating. Everyone said it was delicious. They were very nice to work with as well.

You can clearly tell Monrose catering are veterans at what they do. They are calm, organized, efficient and amazingly delicious. My guests did not stop raving about the steak we chose and I can't thank Donna and her crew enough for being amazing at what they do!

The owners of Monrose make all the difference. Donna and Richard are ever-present, from the first tasting until the day of the event. This is not a company that is going to lure you in then become absent for your event.

Monrose catered our wedding at a private home in Malibu. Our budget was no problem at all. They used a home oven to reduce costs and Donna guided me through lots of other places to "cut corners." They are not looking to scam clients with quick upcharges and confusing budgets.

Let's talk about the food! We skipped a sit-down dinner and instead opted for heavy passed appetizers. Our guests could not stop raving about the food. We had 6 offered and they were so delicious and filling. We also had a steak sandwich station and cheese plates. At one point in the night, Monrose also came around with cookies and milkshake shooters - free of charge!

Another nice thing was also the design of the food. Our look was minimal so Monrose presented all the food in a minimal, white, streamlined way. We loved it!

We had two hosted bars with some of the friendliest bar tenders I have dealt with in LA.

If you have an event and are looking for service that feels like a member of your family is helping you put it on, choose Monrose. From the food to the design to the staff, they are excellent!

Monrose catered our wedding at Rancho del Cielo. Donna and her team were amazing! All of our guests kept making a point to come up to me and tell me how much they loved the food!!

Donna made it so easy on us. She decorated everything beautifully, knew exactly what rentals we needed, ordered them for us, catered to all of our special requests and made delicious food!! I would recommend her to anyone looking for catering!!

If you plan on getting an event planner for your day, don't bother! Donna (from Monrose) is excellent. Not only does she provide amazing food but she takes lead on the big day and goes above and beyond. The food is incredible, so tasty with excellent presentation. The service was amazing and set up/strike was so quick and easy.
I'm a massive control freak, and the planning aspect leading up to the big day got a little confusing with rentals and guest count and there was a little miscommunication at times and I felt like they were very relaxed in regards to the planning which left me nervous at times, but now I know why..... THEY ARE PROS!!!! Sit back and let this amazing company cater your wedding. You will not be sorry that you did!

If you are having your wedding at the Adamson House in Malibu then this is the catering company to hire!
They know the venue like the back of their hand and everything worked together perfectly! As the mother of the bride, I never had to worry about a thing.
Our guests raved about the appetizers and the dinner menu. Everything was served at the same time and was beautifully presented.
The serving staff was professional and friendly and Donna was a pro at making everything come together.
Since our son-in-law is from the UK, it was a perfect match, as the owner and chef are also from the UK.
I would highly recommend this catering company!!

When it came time to select a caterer for our wedding in Malibu, Monrose was one of a select few places recommended to us by our venue. After a few phone calls, and some reviews of their food offerings, my husband arranged for a tasting with Donna. The tasting was setup based on what our preferred selections were for the wedding, and we used that to narrow down what we wanted. All of the passed hors d'oeuvres were so good, it was very difficult to pick just 4 or 5. We also had a very multicultural crowd at our wedding, and Donna was very flexible in adjusting some of the selections to align with our families' tastes.

Our entree selections included filet mignon, sea bass, and chicken, all of which received positive response from our guests. Same goes for the cocktail hour and dessert spread. The pudding cups were a hit!

Hi Jackie,

I am the mother of the bride. (I loved saying that the day of the wedding). Monroe's Catering was wonderful. The food was excellent, really delicious.
Donna was such a huge help to me she made the day and evening so much easier for me. She attended to so many details without my asking her too. She did things like find the toasting glasses amoungst our boxes of stuff and put them out on the Bride and Groom's table. She attended to details we didn't even think about. I am truly grateful for her help. We did not have a coordinator but with Donna, we didn't need one!

We also adored Monty and I got so many kind comments about him. He was a joy to have around and also a big help.

For our wedding my husband and I wanted something different. We didn't want everyone walking away saying, "Yeah, the food was OK. It was wedding food." We wanted people to remember it! When we did a tasting with Monrose we asked for an Indian meal. What they gave us was some of the most delicious Indian fusion fare I've had in my whole life! A meal one never forgets! Since the wedding we've heard a lot of comments about the ceremony, the decor, the energy of the night. The one thing that is consistent - "Oh, and the food was wonderful! So good!!" We used Monrose Catering for our wedding and it was amazing. The tasting was absolutely magnificent. I wish we could have served it all. The food presentation and flavors were heavenly. I recommend them not only because everything tasted great, but because they truly were easy to work with. Our wedding dinner was so good and I have no complaints at all about the food. They are easy to get a hold of and can really help you make the event something special. We look forward to one day using them again.

Monrose was an integral part in making the wedding day of my dreams come true. I will admit that I had some reservations about their food after the initial tasting and did have them make some changes to some of the ingredients, as well as to the presentation. However, Donna and her staff truly came through and did a superb job on my wedding day. Everything was executed perfectly, from the set up to the food. They took my comments from the tasting into account and everything was to my liking. Guests were raving for days after about the appetizers (the coconut shrimp and ahi tuna tacos were crowd favorites) and were fighting over the bread, it was so good. We did family style servings (which I highly recommend- it gives the wedding a more intimate feel and helps save a few pennies). We had a soy ginger cod, the braised short ribs and truffle mushroom risotto, which were all delicious. The bar tenders were excellent and we never had a line or complaints from any guests. Donna did a gorgeous job setting up the dessert bar. It was better than I could have imagined and am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Monrose.

Even though we were told to bring our colors and flower sample to match linens and chairs they were a unprepared. I had 6 months to plan my wedding so didn't have time to go back and forth. Response time was slow from Donna. BUT, and that's a big but! I would use them again. They pulled everything off and people are still talk about my wedding. Their food was awesome, the pre-ceremony set up was perfect, the servers, bartenders and presentation was top notch. I am very detailed and they captured everything I wanted for my big day. They threw in so many extra details that I couldn't have even imagined. Would recommend using this company!!

We used Monrose for our wedding at Saddlerock Ranch. They were spectacular. I have to mention for the prospective brides... Do not fret if you feel that the email or phone communication is lacking. They know what they are doing, so just don't worry too much. I was unsure at first, but from the very beginning- at our tasting, Donna was knowledgable, honest, helpful and great! She offered good suggestions and was very accommodating. We were able to change the menu to our preferences.

Everything that we tasted at the tasting was amazing, and it may have been my rose tinted glasses, but I think it was even better the day of the wedding. Donna and her team were so on top of it, 100% of the time. Donna went above and beyond and helped ensure everything ran smoothly. From the folding of the napkins, to helping direct guests, and setting up our dessert table, she did it all perfectly. The appetizers were amazing, and entrees served hot, perfectly cooked and tasty. The service, and the bartenders were top-notch and our guests kept telling us how good the food and service were.

The pricing is also great. We contacted a lot of caterers in the Malibu, Westlake area and having a wedding there is not cheap, but I was able to pick the venue of my dreams because we were able to save a little bit of money with the catering. I would 100% recommend this caterer 10/10 times. :)

Monrose provided the most delicious food for our brunch reception with such delightful staff to serve. Although we were able to schedule a tasting prior to the wedding due to their schedule, we were blown away by the quality of the brunch. Our guests raved about the brunch- especially the Belgian waffle bar. At times it was difficult to get in contact with the office, which took away one half star of the rating. Would highly recommend Monrose for any breakfast/brunch catering.

Donna is great, food was fantastic and presentation was perfect! Handled the mixer bar and ice for the bar. Very accomodating and easy to work with.

Was Told Off for Calling

Called them for a quote for my rehearsal dinner. The person who answered was incredibly rude and essentially told me off for bothering him. I have never been so insulted in my life. I will NOT be using Monrose.
