Megan & Scott made a groom's cake for our daughter's wedding...a replica of her bull terrier. It was amazing! Looked just like the dog. Tasted great and their service was excellent. Megan responded in a timely manner to all emails and nothing was too much for them to make this happen. A very good value in addition to the wonderful cake. I would use them again in a heartbeat. -

Monkey & Me Sweets was hired to make the groom's cake for our daughter's rehearsal dinner. We met with them, showed pictures of the groom's fireman's helmet and they replicated the helmet perfectly, even adding a working flashlight. Let's just say it was so AWESOME that her future husband was reluctant to even cut the cake! We found Monkey & Me Sweets easy to work with and a good value for the money. Our family highly recommends them. If you are looking for an out of the ordinary cake, they are up to the challenge. -

I had an unusual vision and Monkey & Me Sweets brought it to life. Our zebra cake was outstanding. It could not have been anymore perfect. We are still getting comments about it from family and friends. Megan of Monkey & Me Sweets is a gem!! -

Great vendor! They tried to get to know you and your grooms personality, interests etc before they even showed you cake designs. Very creative and willing to do "out of the box" styles, which we loved. We wanted a cake that was different from all the other wedding cakes we tasted and have experienced....this is exactly what they did: 2 different kinds of cake- pumpkin spice/chocolate chip and red velvet. A 5 tier cake with 3 cake ball clusters in between each cake layer, tastefully decorated with our wedding colors and unique flair. FANTASTIC! -

We had our wedding cake made by Monkey and Me Sweets. We met with the couple and really didnt know what we wanted, we all threw a few ideas around and finally came up with a concept. They then emailed 2 different cake sketches to us but the colors we didnt really like....at the end my husband ended up sketching up something we both wanted and they did it EXACTLY how we requested. IT WAS AMAZING! We also had grooms and brides cookies made as our favors and they did not only look great but tasted amazing as well. I would recommend them to ANYONE thinking about getting ANY kind of cake...it was pumpkin spice with chocolate chips SOOOOOOO GOOD!!! Thank you sooo much Monkey and Me Sweets!!! -

I met with Megan and Scott in August after seeing their website. I wanted to have a Grooms cake with a Phillies theme since we are both big fans. They didn't disappoint! Their work rivals some of the bakers who are on the Food Network. The design was the ball park with personal touches. I ordered a chocolate flavor. It had the fondant icing over the regular icing but their fondant is very good tasting; not like the typical fondant. My husband loved it and it was a huge hit with my guests. Megan and Scott were so nice to work with. Definitely check them out; they can do just about anything you can think of. -

Megan and Scott created a PERFECT cake for our big day! The flavors turned out amazing and the cake turned out better than I could have imagined! It was one of the highlights of our guests night as so many commented on the beauty of the sugar flowers and the draping. I had an opposite experience than most of the brides here because Megan went above and beyond the call of a baker. Our cake was supposed to be included with our reception venue, however with a month to go the venue decided to cancel that and was going to still charge us for the cake! Megan figured EVERYTHING out for us so we were not going to have to pay double for our cake! Although they were a little expensive it is totally worth every penny of difference!

For our wedding, we had a cupcake cake made for 200 people. It turned out beautifully, people loved eating the cupcakes, and it was so much less expensive than most places were asking for a wedding cake! Thank you Monkey and Me for making our cake so awesome! -

Compaired to the other weding cake makers I interviewed Monkey & Me Sweets won the race hands down. They took my crazy idea and ran with it making it amazing. Cost comparison was astounding to me. Of the two other cakemakers who didn't flat out say "we can't do that", one wanted to charge more than double for a less tasty cake that was more than half fake foam with icing on it and the other just wanted to make a round cake with a box on top. These guys created a Scottish landscape complete with cliffs and rocky ground and followed my internal Dr Who fan all the way up to a complete Tartis with myself and my husband (in our wedding garb) waiving our fairwell out the tartis door! If I want to be completely picky about the entire thing... The people didn't really look like us and the tartan wasn't Exact.. but they were going off pics sent over email that I was in fact late in sending them. The price was more than reasonable and they even went so far as to make an additional two person cake of just the top of the tartis so we could take home for our anniversary. We even had Daleks! I was sceptical when we first met up with Megan & Scott because it was at their home and not a storefront and it did seem more thrown together than planned. But their product turned out beautiful and tasted epic. They stayed in budget and did more than I'd hoped for. I would reccomend these guys to anyone who wants originality without having to sacrifice taste. -

The wedding cake from Monkey & Me Sweets was for my daughter's wedding. I originally thought the idea was crazy, but the bride and groom wanted what they wanted. The results looked fabulous! I was stunned. I have to admit that the taste was only average, but I don't think anyone could have executed the design more exactly. They did a wonderful job, and the process was seamless, with the cake arriving at the reception exactly on time. The value was outstanding, costing less than half the amount of the quotes of other bakers who were less than enthusiastic about executing the design. If you are looking for something original and creative, this is the place to get your cake. -

Like other brides here, I have mixed reviews of M&M. They made our wedding cupcakes and a cutting cake. Let me start by saying the display was beautiful, the cake was delicious, and in the end I could not have been happier with how it turned out. They went out of their way to get the cake stands and cupcake wrappers that we wanted, and I am very appreciative of that. However, getting in touch with Megan was very difficult. Sometimes weeks would go by without a response, even if I emailed her multiple times. This became stressful at times. Their cakes are great, they just need to figure out a way to communicate more quickly and efficiently. -

As previous reviews have stated, I also have a mixed review for M&M Sweets. The cake and cupcakes we had for our wedding turned out just how we wanted and we were very happy about that. Everything tasted just as good too. On the other hand, communication with them is pretty bad. Usually needed to send a few emails plus make a phone call to get a hold of Megan. Most of the time the response wasn't for a couple of days later. What kept me from going somewhere else was that they could create what we wanted without being overly priced. So bottom line is that they're cakes are great but their communication skills need improvement! -

My review for Monkey and Me is mixed. I contacted them to make a grooms cake for my wedding as a surprise for my husband. The original quote they gave me was very high so I was actually not going to go ahead with it, but Megan was willing to work with me and worked within my budget. As they did reduce the price they asked that I give them 100% creative control, so all I sent to them was a picture of the avatar on XBox that my husband has and didnt have a clue what the cake would look like ahead of time. In honesty, I didnt really have any expectations of how the cake would look, but it was fabulous, a total hit with the guests and an amazing surprise for my husband.
Similar to another review however, I found getting hold of Megan in the run up to the day extremely hard and I didn't receive return phone calls or emails to the several I sent. When you are in the last weeks of planning a wedding this kind of situation gives you much unneeded stress and worry. In the end I decided that whatever happened would be fine as the grooms cake was a "nice to have", so I stopped worrying about it and they came through on the day, delivering the cake on time and it looked and tasted great.
My advice would be that if you want a creative cake, probably not your actual wedding cake, but something fun and as an addition to your day, they will do a good job, it just isn't the most professional of services and they do take some time to get back to you...which when you are planning a wedding is not really ideal. -

Monkey & Me is a decent start up bakery. When we originally signed with the venue, they were part of the package. A month before we got married, the partnership was dissolved between the two parties. I felt that communication was a little screwy between the two parties when their relationship ended. I thought that M&M would work with us on pricing in order to keep our business but they didn't. Due to timing, we stuck with them. They are very creative and worked with some of our original wedding cake ideas. We had two cakes - a grooms cake which was the hit of the wedding and our wedding cake. Our wedding cake was inverted and it was very close to toppling down when we went to cut it. On top of that, the cake was extremely shiny which I didn't care for but that could have been weather related. Regardless, they came back during the reception and tried to rectify the cake from toppling over before we cut it which was nice of them. -

Monkey and Me created a beautiful (BEAUTIFUL) wedding cake for us that was as delicious as it was aesthetically pleasing. Our first tasting was such a great experience and we were incredibly excited to have them create our wedding cake.
However, from that first meeting, things went down-hill and, if we had it to do over again, we would not have hired Monkey and Me. The lack of professionalism and service was unacceptable and caused us untold amounts of unnecessary stress leading up to our wedding day. We were told that we would have some preliminary designs for us within a few weeks of our tasting and, per their request, emailed them pictures of designs we liked. We heard nothing from them for nearly two months so we emailed them again to follow up. Meagan replied back with excuses about being behind on their work and some difficulties creating a design she liked and promised us some designs in a few weeks. Three weeks later, we were still in the dark, not having heard from Monkey and Me since then. We emailed again, explaining that, with less than two months until the wedding, we wanted to get moving on a design, since some cake toppers take longer to arrive and we needed the design before choosing a cake topper. We asked for any of the designs she had supposedly been working on. A week later, we received a reply to our email with two drawings of possible designs that were nearly $200 more expensive than we had discussed, completely uncreative/imaginative (we asked a friend who creates wedding cakes for a living and her analysis was that they looked like poor versions textbook wedding cakes and, for the amount we were paying and for the time we had waited, these were paltry offerings. We agreed.), and looked like a child had scribbled them in a hurry. We responded back with some questions and further suggestions to focus the design efforts into something we could use, including more photos of ideas. A week later, we received a response email that simply promised new designs by the end of the week (Friday), completely ignoring our multiple questions. Sunday night, we finally received two new designs that met our needs. They were both beautiful (both in concept and in presentation), though still over our agreed-upon budget, and we decided not to make an issue of it, since it was less than three weeks until the wedding at this point (though it was too late to order the cake topper we wanted).
All this drama was complete unprofessional. They failed to get us designs as planned and didn't even bother to stay in communication as the promised timeline was thrown out the window. There were no communication attempts to appease us or let us know that they were still thinking of us/working for us (i.e. the professional thing to do when one gets behind schedule). We had to email-stalk and nag in order to get designs (over three months later than originally promised). Based on the lovely work finally given us, it is obvious that the original designs were thrown together in a hurry after multiple attempts on our part to get designs (i.e. it appears that no one worked on our designs until we nagged them to death, at which point they scribbled out some ideas and thought that would suffice). We spent more time worrying about whether or not we would have a wedding cake, let alone one that met our expectations, than any other part of our wedding planning. The complete lack of communication, unreliable timeline, and shoddy work left a very sour taste in our mouths that no amount of beautiful, delicious cake can cover. -
