Since my wedding was approaching quickly, I decided to give professional makeup a try. I contacted Monique Powers and made an appointment. She was fantastic about communicating details ( e.g. Arrival time to my home, the time I needed to be completed etc..). I greatly appreciated her patience in answering all of my questions. On my wedding day, Monique was the upmost professional, timely, thoughtful, detailed and friendly. My airbrush makeup was flawless! I looked dramatic, but natural. My mother's makeup was spectacular and made her look even more youthful. Makeup on ethnic skin is challenging....Monique's experience with various undertones was evident!! I received so many compliments on my wedding day and my pictures were beautiful! I highly recommend the Monique Powers experience! I'm looking forward to future events with Monique's personal touch!

Monique is wonderful. She has been doing my brows for over a year, so naturally when it came time to choose a makeup artist for my wedding, it was a no brainer. She is extremely talented at what she does and is so so sweet and wonderful to work with. I am generally very picky and was extremely particular about how I wanted my makeup done for my wedding. Monique was extremely attentive to this and made sure I was on board with what she was doing throughout the process. My make up turned out exactly how I envisioned (without me having to ask for anything changed/corrected) and I was so happy with her work. Highly recommend!

Monique was so amazing to work with. I hired her for my wedding day and my hair and makeup were flawless. During my initial search, I really wanted to find someone that could help my natural beauty shine through. I also have sensitive skin and coarse hair, so I was concerned about finding someone who could really work well with me.
On the day of, she was punctual. She was actually there 30 min early! She even finished my hair and makeup on time! When I actually got to my venue it was crazy hot that day...95 degree weather. Not only did my makeup last, it looked beautiful in all of our pictures. I got so many complements all night.
If you get the chance, definitely hire Monique for your wedding. It'll be worth it!

I decided to book Monique for my hair/makeup based on all her great reviews and the before/after pics posted. I really had only a vague idea of what I wanted because I dont wear much makeup nor know how to fix my hair for a special occasion. I didnt even do a preview, so I put 100% blind trust in Monique for that one day all of us women want to look our absolute best. Monique did not disappoint! I was breaking out due to wedding stress and had dark circles from lack of sleep, but Monique made me look flawless. She customizes your makeup based on your features, listens to what you want, and is a true artist. My hair was adorable and better than I imagined it would be. Everything stayed put for hours and hours, even after tears. And best of all (for the hubby) no lipstick transferred after so many posed kissing pics. Dont hesitate to book Monique!

I cannot say enough about Monique and her fabulous business Monique Powers Beauty Boutique. I realize some brides might love their vendors and give them all 5 stars for each category. Believe me, I thought about it! Monique really went above and beyond before the wedding and on the day of. As the bride you see all types of vendors from inexpensive to out-of-this-world/ in-another-universe expensive. Well, Monique isn't super-inexpensive BUT also not on the other end of the spectrum either BUT you get more than you pay for with value, service, time spent, and attention-to-detail.

After I heard and saw great things about her work in both makeup and hair, I contacted Monique prior to taking my engagement photos for a makeup trial. Have to make sure the work looks great on and off camera! That was in September 2013. After the wonderful work Monique did, her professionalism, and just her overall personality, I only had to see the photos and fall in love with them to know she was the one for my wedding and bridesmaids.

The hair the day of the wedding my hair and makeup looked even better than the trials. Monique is a true professional and will not leave until hair and makeup looks perfect! The airbrush foundation she did was AMAZING! I loved her work so much my mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law also had their makeup done. Monique is so responsive, incredibly easy to talk to, friendly, and an all-around lovely person. Everyone in the bridal party loved their hair and makeup. I booked Monique a year before my wedding and without meeting her! I just had a feeling that she would be perfect for my big day. I booked a few treatments (facials, eyebrows and make up for engagement session) in order to get to know her before my wedding. I always left feeling refreshed and enjoyed every visit. On my wedding day, she and her team arrived on time and made all of us look fabulous! I hired Monique to do my daughter's hair and makeup for her Wedding. When I accompanied my daughter to the preview a few weeks before the Wedding, I was immediately impressed. Monique was very friendly, polite and professional. She made us feel comfortable with her clean, cool and well lit salon. We engaged in casual, non invasive conversation. Monique did such a spectacular preview job with my daughter's makeup and hair, that I booked hair and makeup for my two other daughters and two nieces, I also booked eye makeup for myself. On the Wedding day Monique arrived early as promised, with a well qualified assistant, that made it possible for all of us to be ready and unhurried for the big day. We all were very satisfied with the work we each got done, most importantly, the Bride was happy, radiant and overjoyed. We would definitely use Monique again for our beauty needs, and our friends have been asking who is this Artist. Thank you Monique Powers for a job well done.

Love, Love, Love Monique! My mother actually found her online. When I met with Monique, I explained that although I wanted to wear make-up for my wedding, I needed to look as "natural" as possible. My husband (fiancé at the time) does not like me to wear make-up and he was adamant that I not look super "made-up" on our wedding day. "I want you to look like you," was his comment. I explained this to Monique, who by the way is a great listener, and she understood perfectly. On my wedding day, Monique came to my house and set up shop right in our dining area. She did my mother’s face first (who also never wear's make-up). My mom loved her finished look: Natural yet glamorous. I was next. Admittedly, I was a little anxious but when she finished, my make-up was beautiful, natural and flawless; and it lasted the entire day and night! Most importantly, my husband was overwhelmed by how beautiful I looked. And the pictures looked great! I HIGHLY recommend Monique and would refer her in a heartbeat!

I really enjoyed having Monique as part of the wedding. She was professional and very easy to talk to about what I had visioned for the wedding. I was one of the brides that had planed everything out from the beginning, and when we had to unfortunately change the date and add some services last minute for my ladies, she was very sweet and understanding. My hair and make up came out just as I wanted it and my ladies looked peefect! I will be keeping her number for any future events that may come up.

I had the pleasure of working with Monique and two of her stylists 3 weeks ago for my wedding. It was a wonderful experience! She was extremely helpful and responsive to all of my questions and even had two of her wonderful stylists, Shana Taylor and Jessica Berrios, drive all the way to Pasadena on a Saturday morning to get myself and my best friend ready for my big day. I was so impressed with their work, I had to write a review ( which in all honesty, I hardly ever do.) Even though Monique herself was already booked for that day and couldn't do my makeup for me, she left my friend and I in very good hands. I highly recommend this boutique for anyone looking for a bit of glam for their special occasion. I'd give this review more than 5 stars if I could!

Monique Powers was a God send! She did my makeup preview and wedding makeup, as well as my hair. I never even knew I could look like that! She truly made me feel like the most beautiful version of myself, which is what every bride dreams of. Monique listened to me and really captured the entire idea of the natural, classic look I was going for.

Her airbrush makeup is flawless. Her hairstyles are incredible. I highly recommend Monique to any girl who is in need of the perfect look for a big day! She's the best and has an amazing personality on top of it all. AND she has the best music playlist ever! :)

I used Monique's services for tattoo cover up (I have a quarter sleeve on my arm) and for hair styling for myself and the bridal party. All I have to say is excellent, excellent, excellent work! My tattoo couldn't be seen at all and matched my skin tone perfectly. It didn't rub off and stayed on all day. My hair was perfect! I provided a picture of how I wanted my wedding hair. Not only was it matched perfectly, it came out looking even better than the picture I brought in. My hair also lasted all day. I loved working with Monique and her staff. They were so friendly and welcoming and I genuinely enjoyed their company- they're such a pleasure. It felt more like hanging with friends. I felt the price was totally reasonable and the services provided were stellar!

Monique made me look absolutely fabulous on my wedding day! She arrived early (I wasn't even ready for her!), was super friendly and pleasant, and took her time to make sure I was happy with my look. When I wanted changes to my lips, she did them without hesitation or offence. Monique and her assistant provided fantastic service (five stars for every category). I was told--repeatedly--that my makeup was stunning on my wedding day and it stayed in place from the moment of application until I took it off that night. I booked Monique for my wedding then started seeing her for my brow/facial needs. It's now been about a year since I first met her and I'm so happy I did. She is sweet, kind and a perfectionist. She is amazing -- truly an artist. She and her team did hair and make-up for me and 9 others on the day of my wedding. She stayed on schedule and did an amazing job. I never worried once about my make-up during the entire wedding. I don't think I ever even had to do any touch-ups. Definitely book her for your hair and make-up, but don't forget about everything else she does as well.

Monique is absolutely the best. I had doubts about if I should go with airbrushing or regular makeup. Monique had me come in for a test trial and afterward I was set on airbrush. She explains the different products and always ask what the client is looking for. On my wedding day 7/6/13 she did a tattoo cover up and a full face of airbrushing. It was so beautiful. I will be coming back for her services. She's a very sweet person to talk to and get get advice from on how to take care of your skin. Definitely recommend her for your wedding. You will not be disappointed.

"A Makeup Artist who listens"
She's magnificent. Not only she's extremely talented, but also she listens to what her clients say and values their opinion. A quality that is so rare among makeup artists. She ensures that you leave her chair with a biggggg smile on your face. She is veryyyyyyyyy patient and pleasant to deal with.

As for the quality of the makeup, I tend to sweat from my face a lottttttt (an extremely unpleasant feature), but her makeup lasted all night through all the dancing and sweating!!!!!

And above all, almost everyone at the wedding commented on how good my makeup looks and how it has wonderfully lasted! :D

Monique, did a fantastic job with the make up on my wedding day. You are professional, very attentive, considerate on TIME and made the entire experience relaxing, you have a kind spirit, and the end result was exactly what I had wanted!!

You listen to the ideas I had and made suggestions about what look would work best for myself my skin complextion and the end result being flawless and natural make up on the day which we received compliments for all day. I really appreciated the suggestion to airbrush of my small tattoo on my left shoulder, it turned out perfect and help me complete a classic look.

The make up used made me feel like I wasn't even wearing make up at all but made my skin flawless and it lasted the entire day.
It wouldn't have been such a special day without the hands of Monique.

I am so glad that I stumbled upon Monique Powers’ Beauty Boutique. The services were above my expectations and the staff is extremely talented. I had no worries on my wedding day because I new I was in good Hands! I had Monique for my make-up and eyebrows and Jazmine for my hair and I had no complaints. I had lots of complements on how beautiful my make-up was and how beautiful my hair was.

They specialize in a wide variety of services including eyebrows arching. Now I don’t have much eyebrows and to add to that they are naturally shaped very wired. I have always had a hard time finding someone to properly shape my eyebrows and I had come to the conclusion that I would never find anyone to make my eyebrows beautiful…until now. Monique gave me beautiful eyebrows on my wedding day! I will defiantly continue to go back and get them done! They also specialize in all skin types so anyone can go here! In fact that is what drew me to this beauty boutique. I’m African American so it was important to find someone that was knowledgeable about what type of colors would look best on me and what will go with my skin color.

Monique Powers’ makeup and hairstyling transformed me into a movie star bride! I had so many compliments throughout my wedding on how stunning my make up looked and how great I looked in all my photographs. What was even more amazing is that it stayed on all day and through the evening reception.

She arrived on the wedding day earlier than expected and worked quickly and efficiently on my hair and makeup, so much so that I arrived 15 minutes early to the church!

As well as being highly skilled at what she does, Monique is very personable and puts you at ease. I very highly recommend Monique’s hair and makeup. I have not come across a better makeup artist.

Monique did an excellent awesome job on my hair and make-up on my wedding day, April 27, 2013. She did a total transformation of me and felt so confident of how beautiful I looked, hearing from everyone's comment when they first saw me. Monique did my hair and makeup for my wedding on April 6, 2013, as well as my engagement shoot makeup. After scouting her reviews and her website, I knew she was the right person to help me accomplish the look I wanted for my big day.

From the first moment of contact -- her prompt reply to my inquiry -- it was clear to me that Monique is a consummate professional. During our trial session, she was attentive, patient, and focused on making sure that I was happy with the look we achieved together. I loved what we did so much that I asked her to help me with my engagement shoot as well. Not only was she extremely responsive to my questions before the wedding, she arrived in enough time to allow us to pull the look together in a relaxed, un-hurried atmosphere.

Monique is simply a lovely and engaging person to be around. You can tell that she loves her work and genuinely wants her clients to look and feel amazing. I was completely comfortable and at ease the entire time.

The final verdict on the looks she pulled together for my engagement and wedding shoots? Absolute perfection! The comments and feedback I received from my husband, family, and friends when they saw me (and my photos) were *overwhelmingly* positive. I don't think I've ever looked so good. ;) Monique does BEAUTIFUL work and I'm so thrilled that I was lucky enough to have her help on my big day. THANK YOU, Monique!!

Monique is the best!! Monique is not only PROFESSIONAL, but talented and so nice.
I wanted to look as natural as possible on my big day, while looking like a bride and I got just that (who knew you chould get that look with airbrushing?) I was discouraged by a friend from airbrushing, she told me that if I cried I would have lines on my face...I mentioned it to Monique and she "ONLY IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING", Monique was RIGHT! I cried at our ceremony and there were no traces of lines on my face...Thanks to Monique!!
Monique also worked on my Spanish speaking mama and she looked a pretty as she did on her big day. Monique was patient with my mama and did a great job communicating with her.

I had the pleasure of having Monique Powers do my makeup for my wedding on February 17, 2013. Monique was amazing at listening to what I wanted, and made me look better than I ever knew I could. Having had previous bad experiences with getting my makeup professionally done at other salons, and looking like a cheap drag queen after these experiences, I was naturally worried about my wedding makeup. Monique was somehow able to cover up all of my flaws, made me look natural and elegant, and made my pictures turn out so beautiful. In addition to the above, I had a morning wedding, and Monique arrived to my hotel 20 minutes earlier than our scheduled appointment time. I love timeliness! This review is long overdue..so Monique..I’m so sorry! Monique was the makeup artist for my wedding..and an artist she is indeed! She is fun, sweet, caring and extremely professional on top of that!

I’m definitely one that doesn't wear a lot of make up and didn't want to be one of those brides that walks down the aisle and her husband doesn't recognize her. I was very paranoid about looking “natural” but soon saw after my trial that with Monique I had nothing to worry about. My face was her canvas, and she perfected her craft. She is amazing. I had a very long day and my make up looked amazing even until the next morning!

Not only is she a true artist, but she is professional, polished and has an amazing team. We had a total of 13 women in my wedding party so you could imagine how crazy our suite was getting ready. Monique and her team were so calm and collected through the entire process and made sure all of us got in and out within the scheduled time allotment. The ladies were so “wow’d” by her makeup, that some of them tried to get their makeup done last minute and Monique was very flexible to that.

Monique truly “transformed” me and my bridal party and we all felt so beautiful. She has a true talent and was such a blessing to work with. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world making us brides feel so beautiful on our special day.

Monique is amazing! She did airbrush makeup for my wedding and it turned out stunning. I have never felt so beautiful in my entire life. I absolutely love, love, love Monique Powers' work! She did my makeup for my wedding and it was absolutely beautiful. I was a bit nervous about getting my makeup done so early in the day but Monique assured me it was necessary to make sure I was done in time for the prewedding photographs (she was 100% correct) and that it would stay on all day and night (and it did!). Her application of the makeup was so natural. I didn't have that "made-up" look. My pictures are proof of her work. At several points throughout the day I cried but my makeup didn't! Monique is very experienced. My bridal party was a diverse group of girls. I am an African American woman, my maid of honor is Hispanic, one of my bride's maid is Caucasian and the other one is African American. Monique was a pro at selecting the right colors for all of us. I highly recommend Monique for all skin types. I also highly recommend getting a "preview" done so you can see Monique at work before your big day.

Monique Powers is an incredible artist and business woman! My wedding makeup was absolutely amazing. My friends and family are still talking about my makeup and my pictures! Monique totally captured what I was looking for! I wanted to look natural, beautiful, fresh and “dewy”. Monique put it all together and made me glow! She was very responsive, she replied to all of my emails in a timely manner. She was flexible, working with my hectic schedule. My husband and I decided to get married in LA where he was currently working and living even though I was living and working in Texas. I didn’t know where to start to find a makeup artist for my wedding day. Monique came highly recommended by one of my husbands colleagues. She raved about Monique. After seeing her wedding pictures I was sold on Monique Powers. Monique exceeded every expectation. She was professional , warm, and friendly. She made me feel comfortable immediately! By the time I left the Monique Powers Studio, I felt like I’d known her all of my life. I even asked her to be one of my backup singers at my wedding reception where I was planning to sing a Dreamgirls song to my husband and she AGREED to do it! I can’t say enough great things about her. I don’t wear makeup on a daily basis, I’ve never had my makeup applied professionally. When I met Monique for my trial run, she took the time to listen to my vision and ideas. She shared my ideas with her team members and they made me in to a beautiful bride! I'm absolutely obsessed with make-up so I was definitely looking for the best of the best artist for my big day. And boy did Monique deliver!! I first saw her work online and knew I had to look her up. I live in Syracuse, NY and was having a destination wedding in Los Angeles, CA so I knew I would have my work cut out for me. I went out to LA to shop for venues and decided to schedule a make-up trial while I was out there. I met Monique at her super cute and quaint studio and she made me feel so comfortable. She is a true beauty (she is as pretty as the make-up she applies) - both inside and out. I was so happy with the trial that I booked her for my wedding and could not have been happier. After view all positive reviews on her, I was so eager to contact her even though it was late at night. I sent her a voice message. The next morning I got a respond from her. When I spoke to her , she sounded so polite and friendly. We arranged our appointment day and she welcomed my husband and I warmly. I found our first encounter rather comfortable like she was a friend I have long known. During our discussion she maintained her professionalism but yet still very friendly.
I tried out a demo makeup session with her and I knew my search was over. My husband and mom were amazed at my transformation from stressed dark circle and uneven tone to flawless. I remember going out later that day and getting so many compliments from people on how flawless my makeup looked.
I know I am going so much in details but I would love to say that Monique is definitely reliable . Communicating with her after I was back in Africa , felt like I never did leave LA.
One the day of the wedding day. She came just in time (with her crew) and was done just in time to make everyone, especially me, so flawless and confidence. I definitely recommend her to any future bride out there.

My sister and I found Monique on the internet. We simply searched Google for a make up artist and there she was... with Excellent reviews. We set up the trial appointment and everything went smooth from day one. Monique is easy to talk to is extremely professional and worked well with us. I never write reviews, so this alone is testimony of how amazed I am with Monique!

Monique is truly an ARTIST of makeup. She listened to everything I said and went above my expectations. I went to different trails before finding Monique and this is what I tell all my friends:
With other places the makeup wears you, and as a result the compliments you may get will be " her make up looks good" but with Monique you wear the makeup not the other way around and truly the endless compliments you will receive is solely on how stunning YOU look! my husband literally said he could not stop staring at me.

I will never trust anyone to do my makeup again besides Monique. My makeup looked great in pictures and in person! and lasted all day from 12pm-1 am when I washed it off. I do not know how she does it but i am so happy to have found her.

Monique did an amazing job at making over me, my mom, sister's, niece's, and cousin. She had Jessica help her out too. Both are excellent at what they do.
I had Monique do my makeup for my bridal shower and wedding. She is just the best! I will definitely use her for any special occasion. She is worth it!
My family loved their make over! They are not one's who wear a lot of makeup. Monique and Jessica made them look beautiful without making them look like they had too much makeup on.
i just have to say that on my wedding day it was hotter than heck!! We had an outside garden wedding. I believe it was 94 degrees. Monique and Jessica used spray foundation and it lasted all day, especially in the heat. We had people who couldn't believe our makeup lasted in the heat.

I just got married last Friday September 21st. During the planning process I searched out many make up artists in hopes of finding just the right one. I spoke with a few and didn't feel 100% confident that they would deliver the results I was hoping for. I have struggled with my complexion for years and it has been a battle of breakouts which have left some marks to show. Everyone could not stop telling me how stunning I was on the day of my wedding.

Monique was so professional and flexible for that matter. She allowed me to use my make-up and was able to apply the same technique and precision she did with her own make-up during the preview. At the same time she also allowed me to apply make-up as well when I wanted to do it myself as well......The end product was the everyday me but breathtaking and make-up that stayed put throughout the night.... When you get married you want to be sure that you choose someone that will go the extra mile and make you feel and look like a million bucks!

As for my hair, Shanna did my hair and she was amazing, I showed her a few pictures and I can't tell you how easy it was for her to replicate the photos but cater the look to my face frame and how I wanted to modify the style.... My hair was so amazing and I got so many compliments....Shanna was flexible as well and was so positive and passionate about her work.... As soon as she started doing your hair, you knew that you would be able to trust her and that she would do your hair to fit you not the other way around.

On your wedding you want to be gorgeous and breathtaking and Monique & Shanna achieved just that on my wedding day!

If you want to look radiant on your wedding day, or for any other special event, definitely book with Monique! Monique not only does beautiful work but she is very professional and friendly as well. I contacted Monique to do my hair and makeup for my wedding. I was hesitant to book because the cost seemed pretty high to me, but let me assure you, it was worth every penny.

Before my makeup trial she had me send her photos of what I wanted my makeup to look like. The day of the trial she didn't just try to copy the look but she spent time talking to me to get a feel for what I was really looking for. She did my hair and makeup trial for my engagement party. I was happy with her work but I wanted some tweaks made so I had her do my makeup for another event so we could get the look "just right" for the wedding day. I had her add a moisturizer, make my eyes smokier, and change the lip color. I was afraid that she might be offended with my requests, but she was totally open to making the changes I wanted, and happily made them. The makeup looked wonderful! I loved her work so much that I paid to have my mother's makeup done by Monique as well for the wedding.

On my wedding day, she showed up right on time (a few minutes early) and finished right on schedule. Monique was always very professional but extremely friendly. I always felt very comfortable with her. She always responded to me promtly both via e-mail and telephone.

Again, I cannot stress enough how happy I was with her work on my wedding day! Feel confident booking Monique!

Monique was great. When I inquired about booking her, she responded right away. Thanks to Monique Powers and her team of artists, my wedding makeup as well as my bridal party's makeup, looked flawless on my wedding day!! From the moment I met Monique and Natasha (who actually did my wedding makeup), I knew I had found the right makeup artist. Both Natasha and Monique seemed to understand my personality and the type of bride I was. This was very important for someone like me, who does not typically wear makeup and was unsure of what exactly I wanted for my wedding day makeup. I gave Natasha a few magazine pictures, told her about my wedding pictures, and she was able to come up with a complete concept.

For my wedding day, I got the Bride + 9 package, which covered makeup for me, my bridal party, my mother, and the mother-of the-groom. People were then able to add on other services (lashes, hair, airbrush), as desired. Although the pricing of Monique's services might be a bit more expensive than some other vendors, the group package makes the pricing the same as (if not less than) other vendors.

On the day of the wedding, Natasha showed up with two other artists. They each quickly set up and got right to work. Everyone was able to pick their own makeup and hair styles and the artists were able to make everyone's visions come to life. One bridesmaid wanted big blowout hair, one wanted to straighten her extremely curly hair, one wanted curls, one wanted smoky eyes, others wanted natural makeup, etc. Whatever anyone wanted, they got. And people were able to add on services at the last minute. Even with all the different requests and add-ons, Natasha and her team had everyone ready in time for pictures with everyone's hair and makeup looking fresh.

Additionally, the artists were able to apply body makeup for my mom who has vitiligo. By the time my mom was done, you could not see any skin discoloration which left my mom looking and feeling great. This meant a lot to me and my mom as we both wanted to make sure my mom looked exactly as she wanted for all the wedding pics.

From start to finish, I had a great experience with Monique and her team and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who wants to make sure they have amazing makeup on their wedding day. I especially recommend Monique to any bride of color or anyone whose wedding party includes people of different ethnicities. I am so thankful I found Monique Powers for my wedding day! My makeup looked better than I could have ever imagined. Thank you, Monique and Natasha!!!

If you’re searching for the very best look on your wedding day stop what you’re doing and book Monique today! I got married on 4-21-12 and had the BEST day of my life. I got so MANY compliments! To this day one of the top things people remembered about my wedding was how beautiful I looked. Thanks to Monique I looked natural, flawless, and like ME. My biggest worry choosing a makeup artist was that they would make me look like someone I’m not. Monique listens to all your concerns and needs and delivers. She was early for appointment and got set up without any interruptions. She has a calmness about her and she makes you feel comfortable during the transformation. A true professional. Having the same energy made me feel good about everything that was happening that morning. We even made some changes with my hair from the initial consultation. A couple of disclaimers before I begin this review:

1. I don’t know anything about make-up
2. My wife and I live in NYC, we got married in Miami, and Monique is obviously located in Los Angeles.

So when my wife decided that 6 months before our wedding that she was going to fly out Monique to Miami for our wedding AND cover her hotel stay so that she could do her make-up the day of the wedding, I not only thought it was fiscally irresponsible, but ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!!
Now I’ve met Monique before and she is a super sweet person, and from what I’ve been told by not only my wife, but also several of her friends, is that Monique is supremely talented at what she does. They’ve gone so far as to even tell me that she truly can make ordinary folks look and feel as if they just stepped right out of the silver screen. So when my wife explained to me that the opportunity cost of the time, expense and effort for her to test out other make-up artists in the Miami area that she would feel comfortable with, would pretty much equal the cost of everything explained in the previous paragraph, I consented and thought to myself “OK.”

Fast forward to our wedding day, my wife and I had planned for a “First Look” prior to all of the ceremony events. I had my back turned to everything and she came walking towards me, tapped me on my shoulder and turned me around. I was absolutely blown away by how amazing, stunning, breathtaking and incredibly gorgeous my wife looked. Monique not only did her make-up but also her hair. Monique managed to capture eye-popping, radiant beauty and still able to keep it natural without being overdone. Simply flawless!! Ironically, now the cost and effort suddenly makes sense! I look at other wedding pics/videos of some folks out there and am able to see the difference between the superstar work and artistry that Monique does and everybody else. I highly recommend Monique Powers!

Monique furfilled my wedding party and my expectations. The makeup lasted all day. She left everyone's makeup as requested. She was very professional and on time the day of my wedding!! Which was very important for me. Everyone complemented on our hair and makeup. I was extremely pleased with her work!!!!
She also went out of her way to help one of my bridemaids with some back acne in which she did not have to. When I look back at my wedding photos I love the way I looked, so beautiful and natural.

Monique is the BEST! She was early, had everything setup quickly and efficiently. For my wedding, she had two assistants who helped since I had a total of 10 people, including myself to get made up and looking great. While her assistants were good, anyone that Monique worked on herself looked WONDERFUL - she really is an artist in every single way.

Her prices are reasonable and she is so sweet and easy to work with. There were no hidden fees or anything unexpected. My makeup stayed on all day and night and looked just at the end of the night as it did when she first applied it (and I'm very oily, so that was hard to do).

I would HIGHLY recommend her and her services to anyone looking for make-up work to be done for anything.

First of all, this woman is gorgeous! So she shows up and you say " can you make my face look like yours! :-) I was very exciting when I saw what a beautiful job she had done on her own face and I wanted pure glamour and beauty for my wedding day too.
Monique spent a lot of time on our test run, making sure I got exactly the look wanted and i didn't feel rushed or pressured at all. Her knowledge of makeup is extensive and she has everything you could need in her box of tools! Plus some extras! :-) On the day she arrived nice and early and made me look and feel beautiful. My wedding guests commented on my face all day. I especially love the shades she put on my eyes. Made them pop.
She was super easy to talk to and I felt like I had know her for years. A really, lovely, sweet person and I would recommend her to any bride for her wedding day, or any special event you have coming up. You will not be disappointed.

She's a little pricey, but she's worth it.

Monique did a great job with me, and her assitants did an amazing job with all the girls. We only had one person who didn't like her hair, but over all it was still good. The only thing I thought was a little bit ridiculous was charging the full 75 dollars to do a flower girls hair! she did manage to bring the price down to 50 because all the little girl was going to have was a few curls, but she did look very pretty, so even 50 was okay!

I would definitely recommend Monique to all of my friends! She's great, very sweet and easy to talk to. Plus, if youre of a darker skin tone like I am, she totally gets skin-tone matching, and you wont end up with a powdery-white or purple face. Everyone said I looked Flawless!

OMG, all my fellow San Diegans need to call Monique to have the their make-up done if you want to look flawless on your wedding day. My now hubby thought I was crazy for driving to LA to meet with Monique for my make-up trial...but when he saw me on the wedding day he understood why. I chose airbrush make-up and I was extremely happy with the results. I danced the entire night at my wedding and my make-up still looked good at the end of the night. Monique arrives with alll her equipment and ready to rock and roll. My bridesmaids and myself looked fabolous and have to thank Monique for that. We all have had make-up done when you don't look like yourself or it looks caked up. That was never an issue or problem with Monique. I highly recommend Monique for your professional make-up needs. I decided to contact Monique after watching her video on her website and seeing the before and after images of women from different ethnicities on her site as well. I just felt I got a really good look at her work and felt comfortable booking her. She was very professional, sweet, and very reliable. I requested a last minute time change and she was able to make it on time with a big smile, ready to work. I booked her for two days (2 day wedding) and provided her with examples of very different styles, one for each night. She nailed both looks! I was very impressed and received tons of compliments. I was married on Setpember 17th, and Monique did my make-up as well as my maid of honor and my mother's make-up. She did an amazing job, and was very easy to work with and professional. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a make-up artist. My make-up lasted all day, even through a few tears. Monique definitely has her own unique style. She is also very accommodating to those who are not used to wearing a ton of make-up. She is not cheap, but definitely well worth it.

I cannot begin to describe in words what an important and crucial role Ms. Monique has played during my wedding.
Her God-gifted talent, skills, intensive experience, wisdom and compassion proved to be a true blessing in my life.
I could not imagine my wedding day without Ms. Monique being a part of it. Hiring her as my wedding make-up artist is hands down, the best "wedding" decision I have made.

When I first started the wedding planning and budgeting, I have to confess that I was going to go cheap on the makeup. I am so glad I didn't go that route. I had initial appointments and interviews with two fairly inexpensive artists and was really not happy. Two things are extremely important to me. 1) Cleanliness 2) Ability to "paint" the picture I had in mind. No one was able to live up to my expectations. My needs were very specific. My skin-tone not the easiest to work with. All I have to say is finding Monique was the answer to a lot o prayers! Her studio is extremely clean and she made me feel comfortable from the moment we met. I learned that she is a skin-care specialist on top of being an amazing make-up artist and I started on an immediate skin-care regiment under her care. All of that was absolutely worth it and I wouldn't have had it any other way. The day of the wedding, Monique arrived ahead of time and far exceeded my expectations. The end results were so much more magical than my trial before and I was blown away by the trial even! Every single person I talked to, remarked on how amazing the make-up was. I can still here the words resonating through my head.

Now, weeks after the wedding I am continuing my skin care regiment with Monique. She is not only a true artist, but am amazing healer and she has a client for life. I hope she gets a chance to do my daughters make-up on her wedding day!

As a woman, I know how much of my day to day work and career is affected by how I feel about myself. When I feel beautiful, I feel confident and when I feel confident, I succeed. This is your wedding day. You want to feel likke the most beautiful woman that ever walked the planet. The pictures that will be taken are pictures that your great grand children will see some day. Invest in the best make up artist you can find...Invest in Monique Powers and I promise you this review will make sense on your wedding day. This will be, the best decision you will make.

First I'd like to comment on Monique's disposition, because on your wedding day you want to be surrounded by happy and pleasant individuals. Monique is genuinely sweet and kind. She was so awesome to talk to and has a very calming sense to her. It's kinda like sit back and relax, because Monique is gonna work her magic. And she does, incredibly. I felt like a million bucks! I can't even count how many times I was told how gorgeous I looked and that I was radiating. That all came from how confident I felt. Before I left for the ceremony I could not stop staring at myself in the mirror, I never felt that beautiful in my life. I, like many of you have had your makeup done, maybe at a MAC once or twice, let me tell you, going from that to Monique is like going from the Best Western to the Ritz Carlton. She is 100% percent worth the money, you will look amazing, your groom will go crazy when he's sees you for the first time, and also super importantly your photos will be perfect. I first met with Monique a few months before my wedding for a tryout, I was very impressed with the attention she paid to detail, she took her time matching up colors till she got it right. I usually get professional makeup done for parties and other special occasions but never like this. On the wedding day, she arrived early with a smile and attitude that put me at ease amidst the pre-wedding chaos. My makeup was flawless...I felt more beautiful than I've ever felt, my husband and most our guest couldn't stop me how beautiful I looked. We partied till 1:30AM and my make was still perfect at the end of the day.
I would recommend Monique to anyone. she's definitely the make up queen.

Let me start of by commenting on Monique's personality. She is funny and sweet. I loved talking to her while she was getting me ready. You will fill so calm, because you can trust her skill, she's so talented. My makeup was fabulous. I never looked that beautiful in my entire life. I couldn't stop staring in the mirror. I didn't bring any pictures I just told her I wanted my eyes to stand out, and she did. All night I was being told how blue my eyes looked. She's a class act and super talented. You will love working with her. Also, at the end of night, after dancing ALL night, makeup was still in place perfectly and I virtually forgot I had lashes on. She's the best.

Monique did an amazing job with my wedding make-up/airbrushing! Everyone commented on how much they loved my flawless make-up. I did not have to do any "touch-ups" AT ALL with her airbrushing. I was afraid that throughout the day my face would become oily, but at the end of the day it looked as good as when she first got done :-) A couple of weeks before I had also scrapped my elbow really bad and then new skin was pink and very noticeable and she covered that up as well with airbrushing- love it! I was VERY satisfied and would recommend Monique to anyone.

I am very happy to have chosen Monique for my wedding day makeup! She was professional from the moment we got in touch and really knew what she was doing. It was easy to get in contact with her; whenever I had a question, she would respond almost immediately. I liked how she had me come in for a trial run so I knew what to expect and she knew what I had in mind. The day of the wedding went very smoothly. No matter your skin type or style preference, I'm sure Monique can give you the look you want. I went in to do a trial session and she allowed me to make tweaks once she was done. She took meticulous notes and on the "day of", my make up was exactly how we had planned during the trial session.

I felt confident for my photo walk around downtown LA. It was middle of summer and all I had to do was blot my forehead when I got a little warm. No touch ups necessary!

Hire her, Ladies! She's worth every penny!

Monique Powers is highly professional and very talented. She can work with a room full of bridesmaids and a nauseous bride. She definitely is the best makeup artist out there! She has also done bridal makeup for 2 of my close friends and we were all very happy with the results. Book Monique!!

Monique was amazing and quick! she made me look exaclty how I wanted to on my wedding day! and my makeup lasted all throught the day and night. I will definitely call her again for sure as well as recommend her to any bride in the future!

She did a fantastic job, I couldn't of asked for anything better. I was a little nervous because of carmageddon and Monique was early. She made me look great! The make-up stayed on even though it was hot out and looked picture perfect. I loved the airbrushed make-up.
