Hands down, the best wedding DJ we have seen...

We got married downtown at River Roast and to say that the day was nothing short of exceptional... well, it was. Jessica at RR let us in on some of the best vendors in the industry and they did not disappoint. Pete and Miguel were our DJ and emcee crew - they rocked it. Super friendly, very knowledgeable about music, and extremely talented when it came to blending songs together, they were A+++. If you can hire them, do so asap. Rob (who I believe owns the company) helped us navigate the process. He even pre-mixed my dance with my dad - we surprised my dad with a 3 min mash-up of Beatles tunes that seamlessly transitioned from one song to the next. Guests loved it. We so enjoyed working with Monastero entertainment. Two big thumbs up.

Fantastic Wedding DJs

We absolutely recommend working with Monastero Entertainment. Joe was the DJ for our wedding, and he did a great job MC-ing. People were dancing the entire night! We received so many compliments about Joe from our wedding guests Both Rob and Joe were wonderful to work with from the beginning to end - listening to our requests and customizing playlists to create an incredibly fun atmostphere.

Fantastic Wedding DJ

The ‘Hidden Gem’ of DJ’s

If you want an over priced club DJ, look elsewhere. If you want a real person (who is insanely talented) who is passionate about their craft and cares more about making your day perfect than their own instagram following - then this is the crew for you.

Working with the Monastero crew was such a breeze! They were by far the most enjoyable vendors we worked with during our wedding process - because they actually cared about us.

DJ Joe Medrano did a phenomenal job the night of! He was incredibly professional, wildly courteous (making sure all of our special requests were fulfilled and checking in on us throughout the night but in the most helpful way and never annoying), he was fantastic interacting with guests, and his song selection was off the charts! We tasked him with the difficult assignment of making sure no dance circles broke out - and he managed to do exactly that! Naturally he followed our must and do no play lists perfectly, but he really shinned in the middle - reading the room and timing songs perfectly throughout the night to keep the dance floor packed and keep our guests entertained.

Rob, the owner, was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process too! He gave us some awesome suggestions to help the day flow smoother, sent us examples of songs and ideas, and even helped customize some of our individual dance songs (eg father/bride, mom/son, 1st dance, last dance). On our first call rob explained that they don’t advertise because they get most of their business via word of mouth - and now I absolutely understand why!!

Best night EVER because of DJ Mike

I cannot even begin to explain the quality of service DJ Mike gave us on our wedding day. I felt like I was a family member of his and he wanted to give me the absolute wedding of my dreams - which he did. My husband and I had calls with him beforehand which he guided and ensured every base was covered. He had a timeline, followed it perfectly and ensured my wedding day flowed effortlessly. I couldn’t imagine a better DJ. I’m so thankful for DJ MIKE!!!!!

Best Wedding DJ

We hired Monastero Entertainment for our wedding on 5/16/25; and we could not recommend them enough!! Rob was so helpful and communicative throughout the entire planning process. DJ Joe was amazing! Rob is perfect and worth it!

Truly can’t believe how amazing Rob was! He has a way with the crowd and kept them totally hyped all night. He was so kind and focused on us as a couple and sure that we were happy and taken care of all night. It was perfect, he did incredible mixes and mashups for us and even perfectly edited our wedding song. We also heard SSOOOOO many compliments from our guests about how great he was. Rob even sang for us and the talent that man has was incomparable. He added another unique and touching point to our wedding we won't ever forget.

Best DJ!!!

We had Mike Sauciuc from the Monastero Entertainment’s team DJ our wedding in Chicago this past summer, and we couldn’t have been happier on our wedding day!! We have gotten endless compliments since about how incredible our dance floor was, and we truly have Mike to thank for curating the most fun dancing environment!! The way our music was mixed to flow smoothly from song to song was such a additive touch! If you’re looking to book a DJ for your wedding look no further. We couldn’t recommend this team more (and booked them after attending a few weddings that Rob Monastero DJ’ed)! Rob was also incredibly helpful in being in touch every step of the way to ensure everything was planned well in advance, providing a great website/platform to plan with, etc.

Best dance floor ever

Rob & his team came highly recommended after they DJed the weddings of my best friend’s two younger sisters. That family LOVES a party so I knew if they had a great experience, that really said something — and I couldn’t be happier we booked them for our wedding as well.

Rob was super communicative, funny, fun, and truly excellent at his job. Peter was our wedding day DJ and got rave reviews from our family and friends, especially given his ability to seamlessly blend our very widely varied music tastes — everything from Kesha to Steve Aoki, Chris Stapleton to Maná. Best of all, they facilitated the Mexican wedding tradition of El Toro Pinto which was a huge success. We have gotten so many messages from our friends that just said BEST. WEDDING. EVER and this is a testament to our DJ team keeping the dance floor packed and the party going!

Best wedding dj in chicago

Working with Monastero Entertainment was a fantastic experience! Roberto, in particular, stood out as one of the easiest and most professional vendors I've ever had the pleasure of working with.

From the very beginning, Roberto demonstrated excellent communication skills, making the entire planning process smooth and stress-free. He took the time to understand our vision and preferences, and his experience clearly showed as he tailored the music to fit our event perfectly.

Roberto has an incredible ability to read the room, effortlessly adjusting the playlist to match the energy and keep everyone engaged. The dance floor was packed all night, and our guests couldn't stop raving about the great music and the fun atmosphere he created.

Phenomenal DJ

We had the pleasure of hiring Monastero Entertainment for our Wedding this past June. From the first phone call we had with Roberto to our big day with Pete as our DJ, Monastero Entertainment was amazing. Roberto listened to our music requests and was very flexible with our wants and needs for the wedding. Pete vibed with our pre-selected “must-haves” and even threw in some amazing songs that everyone loved. The dance floor was rocking all night long with seamless transitions and some great dance moves from our guests. Pete was professional, timely, and VERY talented at his job. Packed dance floor all night!

We hired Monastero Entertainment for our wedding on 8/26/2022. All communication and planning was done through Rob and he was so patient and helpful during the entire process. On our wedding day we had Pete and Brian (MC) and they did an AMAZING job! I am American and my husband is from Venezuela so we were having a bilingual wedding and I was very nervous how to cater the music to everyone. But they absolutely crushed it! From the moment the dance floor opened up it was packed the entire night. They did such a good job mixing up the music. They even did a short tutorial on how to salsa and everyone loved it and it helped get everyone involved! The night was PERFECT!

Never Wanted to Leave the Dance Floor

Monastero Entertainment was one of my favorite vendors to work with. The owner Rob told us their goal is to have the guests feet hurting from dancing the night away, and they delivered! I did not have time to make a playlist prior to my wedding. I emailed Rob my important songs (first dances etc.), song I hate, and the overall music my husband and I enjoy. We gave him some examples of bands and told them to run with it. I stayed on the dance floor the whole entire reception. Every time I thought I would leave to take a break another banger would come one. Mike's transitions were seamless and the beat mixing was perfectly timed. They did a great job of reading the room and adjusting the tone as needed. I had the best pop punk reception and our friends and family kept telling us our DJ killed it. They eagerly collaborated with us on all of our schemes and Rob was responsive and engaged throughout all of our planning. If you like to dance, this is your DJ!

Choose Monastero Entertainment

I don't have anything negative to say about Rob, Pete, and Rob's whole team. They were fantastic! Responsive from day one, met them in person a year and a half before our wedding, and helped all the way through the process. This was one element of planning our wedding that came easy, and that's a testament to Rob & Pete. They listened prior and the day of, and killed it on the day of the wedding! Cocktail hour, intros, speeches, and most importantly the after dinner party they did a great job. Pete did a great job mixing genres and kept the dance floor packed the entire time. Had so many friends and family tell me it was the most fun/crowded a dance floor has been at any wedding!

Best party ever!

Hiring Monastero Entertainment for our wedding was honestly the best decision we made for the event! Rob was incredibly communicative and helpful, from a year out when we met in person to go over everything to the days leading up to the wedding when he fielded all of my calls and emails with last minute questions and changes. Our DJ, Mike Sauciuc, is the best DJ I have ever heard. He checked in via phone calls and texts leading up to the day of the wedding, handled every part of the night professionally, and made our reception run so smoothly. On top of that, he helped us throw the BEST party any of us have ever been to. I told him that we wanted a nonstop party at our reception, and he delivered. Everyone who attended our wedding cannot stop talking about how incredible our DJ was and how fun the party was. I cannot recommend Monastero Entertainment highly enough!

I was referred to Monastero Entertainment from a friend who said he attended a wedding and they rocked it. I’ve been in the DJ/entertainment industry prior to my career now and my expectations were very high for my own wedding. We met with Rob (owner) and Pete Garcia and immediately felt comfortable. They were very creative in the process to cater it to our vision but also very organized. After our wedding, I had several people say that was one of the best DJs they’ve heard at a wedding, ever. Best DJ I've had at any wedding

We honestly couldn't have picked a better DJ than Monastero Entertainment. Rob is great to work with throughout the entire process -- he's extremely prompt in his responses and thorough with all of his work. Even a couple weeks ahead of the big day, we felt comfortable with everything music-related for our wedding.

And most importantly, our DJ on the day of -- Mike -- killed it! People were dancing literally the entire night...we and everyone else had a blast. We actually had multiple people come up to us specifically to complement our DJ...someone said "There were multiple times I was planning on getting off the dance floor, but I literally couldn't since the music was so good."

Seriously the best DJ

Mike S from the company was available for our wedding since Rob Monastero was booked that day. I was honestly a little nervous because the music is one of the biggest factors to a fun wedding and there weren’t a ton of reviews for Mike specifically. I SERIOUSLY COULD HAVE NOT ASKED FOR A BETTER DJ!!! They are reasonably priced, the dance floor was always packed (We had a wide range of age groups at our wedding), did not talk a whole lot, was very prepared and easy to work with. We also worked with Rob while planning and they are both just amazing. I will forever recommend Rob and Mike to anyone and everyone! You won’t be disappointed!!!!!!

May 2021 Wedding

Rob was INCREDIBLE! He was so responsive and kind throughout the entire wedding planning process (I rescheduled twice). He made a super fun mash up for my father daughter dance and everyone LOVED it! Covid wedding, third edition

We knew after seeing Rob’s work at someone else’s wedding that once we were engaged we would hire him. Fate worked out and he had not only our original date available, but also our modified date thanks to covid. He was accommodating to change from a large venue with 280 guests, to a backyard wedding with 50 guests. He charged us a very reasonable price for the backyard wedding, and even threw in uplighting as a surprise. He was incredibly helpful in getting everyone to participate in the hora, and in getting my husband and I up in chairs- which I expected to be difficult to pull off as only 3/50 people were Jewish at the wedding, including myself! I could not recommend Rob more, and he’s the first vendor I recommend to people when I hear that they are engaged. We look forward to hopefully having our large celebration next year with Rob there to keep the fun going!

Excellent MC says this Last Minute COVID Bride!

2020 has been one for the books. After postponing our wedding from May to October, we ultimately ended up having to down-size our guest list (abandoning our plans for a large venue and a live band). At the LAST MINUTE, we decided to hire an MC at our venue manager's recommendation. She suggested we book Rob at Monastero Entertainment, and boy are we glad we did! Rob was awesome - an excellent communicator (super responsive) and was happy to work closely with us on our song selections (even slowing down an upbeat Beatles tune that I wanted to dance with my dad to). Although we were unable to have a dancefloor, Rob MC'd wonderfully and really kept the evening moving from special dances to speeches to our cake cutting. 5 out of 5 stars for me - I would book Rob again!

The best ever

Rob was AMAZING to work with throughout our entire planning process. He was our reception DJ for our wedding in December 2019. He made everything so easy, he responded to all my emails in record time and he always seemed so excited about whatever it was we were talking about.

He mixed together my father daughter dance song within minutes and it could’ve been more perfect.

I had a hard time putting my mind into making a playlist for the wedding so we gave Rob general guidelines and he absolutely ROCKED it. Everyone was on the dance floor the entire night. We got so many compliments from our guests.

We had a mishap with our priest where he pronounced us husband and wife with the brides last name that turned into the joke of the entire wedding. We went to Rob with it before he introduced us and made a joke of it for the guests. He collaborated with the best man to incorporate sound bites into his speech. He was able to accommodate every song request, even if it was for 30 seconds. He loved rolling with all of it and having the free reign to run with whatever we threw at him.

The best part was I emailed him at 12:30 AM the day of the wedding (I couldn’t sleep) asking for the last song of the night to be Time of Our Lives from Dirty Dancing. He wrote me back and joked that we might have some guests trying to lift each other up. When the time came Rob turned it into a contest and we had groomsmen and guests attempting to lift each other up all over the dance floor. I think we all cried from laughing so hard. My only regret is we don’t have more of it on video.

What a fun wedding!

We had a blast with DJ/Emcee Mike. He was so kind and attentive to us as well as our guests. My mom really wanted to hear Let Me Call You Sweetheart and make this circle of guests around us, a tradition in her family. She asked Mike at the last minute for the song, literally gathering people from our family to make the circle. He didn't have it, but quickly downloaded it and got it prepped in like 3 minutes. I observed this and thank him so much for doing that. It made my mom's night. And of course guests danced the whole night. He puts songs together and can read when the crowd has had enough of that song to switch to the next one. Made it look easy! Thanks again to Rob and Mike for making our wedding reception really great!

Awesome dance party with Joe Delfin. Rob Monastero introduced us and set it all up. Their website was fun to use. We liked picking out songs that we knew both our parents and their friends as well as our crowd would like to hear. Joe was so easy to work with; my bridesmaids kept asking him for tunes and he would mix them in very quickly. We appreciate all the planning they helped us with too.

Dancing all night

Dj Mike S. was our emcee and dj. He was super on the microphone, didn't overtalk like some annoying DJs do. He kept everyone on the dancefloor for 3 hours. Roberto made us a mix of two songs we wanted for our 1st dance. He did not have to do that, but went out of his way to make it special for us. We were so pleased with everything and will recommend them to anyone getting married.

So much fun!

Our wedding reception was wonderful because of Dj Pete Garcia and his emcee Johnny. These guys were able to keep everyone out on the dancefloor. Pete mixes songs together, even took requests and mixed them on the fly for us. Incredibly talented. And Johnny emceed + wasn't obnoxious. He talked on his microphone when needing to inform our family of stuff going on. Roberto Monastero has a great team. We were at a wedding he did and loved it. So glad we got to meet Pete and have him at our party.

Unbelievable night of fun

Mike did a phenomenal job, he's a real Pro. I'm sure it wasn't easy for him transitioning from the ceremony back into the reception on a time crunch but he pulled it off gracefully. We were really impressed and thankful that he was our guy.

Just wanted to affirm what everyone is saying about Roberto and Pete. They helped so much with my wedding planning. Rob was available via email or phone whenever I would have those freak out moments. We had a perfect wedding ceremony and reception, all thanks to Pete! He was AMAZING. We had a solemn ceremony and a packed dance floor. What an incredible party

We were looking for someone who wouldn't hog the mic or be obnoxious. Went to so many weddings where the DJ was too vocal and made the party kinda blah. We also wanted someone who could mix songs together during dancing. Mike S. was our DJ/Emcee. Super nice, easy, and knew how to play to our crowd. We'd work with Rob and Mike again in a heartbeat... A+++

Best night of our lives

I can't believe how many people stayed until the end of our reception. If we could have another party, we totally would to have Rob and Peter djing. Absolutely incredible time.

We booked Monastero Entertainment to be the DJ at our wedding, and we were extremely happy we went with them! We were so impressed with how responsive Roberto was from the initial outreach all the way through the planning that led up to the wedding day. Roberto held a prep call with us a few weeks before the wedding in which he had a lot of great suggestions for music and was extremely professional. Pete was our DJ on the actual wedding day. He kept the dance floor packed all night long! Our guests are still talking about how great the music was. We highly recommend Monastero Entertainment!

I cannot say enough excellent things about Rob. He made our reception so special, personal, and fun. Rob had a personal crisis the day before our wedding. He called me on Friday letting me know it would have no effect on our day and that he was going to take care of us - and he sure did! He had everyone dancing the entire night. We received endless compliments from our guests that they had never been to a wedding with such a full dance floor! Rob knows how to read a crowd and played music that could be enjoyed by all ages. If you're looking for a DJ that will DJ the perfect reception music while his house is literally burning down - Rob is the one for you! We cannot recommend him highly enough! Rob, thank you so much!

We hired Mike Saucic (sp) from Monastero Entertainment to dj and be the emcee at our reception. This guy was top-notch. He went out of his way to make sure everyone knew what was going on, played killer music, and was very receptive to all ages at the wedding. Hire this guy; you won't be dissappointed

I can't say enough great things about Ryan our DJ from Monastero who killed it at our wedding. The dance floor was packed the whole night, he made sure all the speeches were on time and he was just overall a great dude to be around. A couple of people made comments about how they would seek the company out for future events and I found out even one of my groomsmen was planning on using them! Ryan - thank you for your professionalism and attention to detail. You helped make the night a great one!

Another note - we met with Rob prior to our wedding to discuss the planning & flow of the evening and he was by far the most fun person we met with in regards to the whole wedding process. He gave suggestions, listened to our needs and we even had a few laughs! If you're looking for a great business relationship as well as a perfect DJ for your event, you really shouldn't look any farther, go with Monastero! Thank you guys!

I still can't stop thinking about how perfect our wedding was and a big part of that was because of our awesome DJ! I typically don't make recommendations on here, but Rob was so great I feel like I owe it to him. If anyone is looking for a DJ or knows someone looking, Rob was hands down one of the BEST decisions we made for our wedding! He literally had our dance floor packed the whole night by the way he mixed songs! He's truly so talented at what he does and you can tell he loves his job (which makes it even better). Pass along his name or look into him. You won't be disappointed!

Rob from Monastero Entertainment was my favorite wedding vendor to work with! He was so easy to coordinate everything with and gave us AMAZING prices on photobooth and uplighting rentals. He even gave us an upgraded photobooth package at no extra cost that had a beautiful gold draping background which went perfectly with our black/white/gold theme. I highly recommend Monastero Entertainment and heard their DJ/audio services are also amazing.

Rob was the DJ for our Sunday morning wedding ceremony and reception in May 2017 and he did an incredible job! He was so kind and helpful with us in advance of the wedding, helping us find songs for our various parts of the ceremony/reception, and walking us through the whole day so that we actually had a plan for what would happen and when. He anticipated problems before they happened and was great about making changes on the fly as needed so that everything ran smoothly. He sang our first dance song, which was very special to us. He did such a great job that many people I talked to had no idea he was singing because he sounded just like Frank Sinatra. We hadn't anticipated much dancing at our wedding since it was a brunch reception, but people definitely got up an danced and many people complimented us on the music selection (which was almost entirely Rob's doing). He was so enthusiastic and genuinely excited for us and our wedding. I would highly recommend him.

I couldn't recommend this company more highly! We worked with Rob to set up initial arrangements. He was not available on our date, so we worked with Joe...FANTASTIC. I don't know how often you can say someone's services are perfect, but we would say that about Joe. He was GREAT at carrying out our requests, GREAT at doing introductions and in moving the toasts, etc. along in a gracious way, GREAT at merging the polka and waltz we requested into the overall playlist, and a truly GREAT guy. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, said what a great job he did. Responsive and fun and super, super nice.

Joe and Roberto were hands down the best music ever at a wedding or party - and the fact that it was at our wedding was the BEST! Joe was - I can't say this enough - amazing! Everyone stayed on the dance floor all night and it flew by. Not even the smell of flaming donuts or late night Italian beef could get people off the dance floor. I have people still calling and texting saying it was the best.
Ceremony was beautiful, the wedding party intros were so fun, and the blending of all our favorite songs kept people jamming well into the night. We will definitely always give your names as a recommendation in the future to family and friends - and now we want to do it all again!
You guys made our night and we will always remember it. thank you so much.

Its been two weeks since our reception and I'm still getting texts from people letting us know how awesome our DJ was! Roberto is a master of his craft. He reads the crowd perfectly. Not only did he make sure our dance floor was packed the entire night, but he was incredibly gracious to our guests as well. He collaborated with my husband to sing our first dance song, which was a wonderful surprise. He took the time to find some great versions of songs that are sentimental to my family. And, he hooked us up with a three-piece jazz band for our cocktail hour. Those personal touches made all the difference.

I should have written this long ago, but better late than never :-) Rob did our wedding back in September and he did an amazing job! I knew he would be great to work with, however, from the moment we first spoke with him. Rob is such a warm, kind, and genuine person. He really listens to what you want for your big day and is very responsive. Despite our wedding being on a Sunday, Rob had everyone out on the dance floor, having a great time! So many people came up to my husband and I during the wedding to compliment us on our DJ and rave about the music. I would recommend Rob for any wedding. Roberto is the epitome of fun and happiness, so who better to have be a part of our wedding, a day that we wanted to be the happiest of our lives? Roberto went above and beyond to make that happen, he was so easy and joyful to work with. From the first time my husband and I met with Roberto to discuss our wedding music ideas, we knew he was the DJ for us. Roberto truly loves what he does and that translates seamlessly into his work, which you can easily tell from one conversation with him! We had him DJ both our wedding ceremony and reception, and he perfectly tailored it to us. I thought our requests were a bit outlandish, from Beatles instrumentals as our ceremony music, Disney songs for dinner, and a wide array of music from the 70s-2000s for the reception, but he did it perfectly! Roberto had our guests on the dance floor until the very end of the night, including some older family members who I didn’t even know had dance moves! We had a few guests at our wedding who DJ, one who even does so professionally (for the nightlife scene), and they all were wanting to talk to Roberto to tell him how impressed they were with his work! He is simply the best with his ability to create the most fun, energetic environment possible. I absolutely cannot imagine my wedding day without Roberto or Monastero Entertainment!

Rico Mangram from Monastero Entertainment provided music and fun for our reception. He's a professional Salsa dance instructor as well; at our request he taught our guests a 15 minute lesson. It was the funniest/greatest 15 minutes ever! Our crowd couldn't get enough of his wonderful personality + his excellent song choices. We had a packed dancefloor from beginning to end. Roberto and his team say they're going to do something and they go beyond what is promised. We couldn't have dreamed of a better night!

I would book Rob 100000 times over!! He is absolutely amazing...all of our guests commented on how perfect the music was. He even sang during our moms dance and blew everyone away. We gave him only a slight guideline of the type of music we wanted, but other than that he felt the vibe/energy of the guests and went with it. Incredible doesn't even describe the night. Rob is so much fun, so talented, energetic, professional..everything you want in a DJ for your wedding day. Everyone was on the dance floor, young and old! I would HIGHLY recommend him!!!!

Absolutely outstanding!! From the beginning planning stages to the very end of the night, Roberto's professionalism, raw talent, and incredible personality were showcased. He honestly has to be the best DJ that I or our entire guest list has ever experienced, and that is not a hyperbolic statement. Every guest at some point during the evening congratulated us on our marriage, but RAVED about the DJ. He just killed it. His website was super easy to navigate, and I was able to pick key songs we wanted played, as well as songs we definitely did not want played. We had a specific genre of music to be played during dinner, but everything else we just left in his hands, and we could not have been happier. At least 95% of our guest list closed out the night, all due to the music Rob was playing, and the atmosphere he created. He played just the right lengths of a song, and then seamlessly mixed in the next with a perfect balance of energy throughout the evening. He can masterfully read a room, and our wedding would not have been the same had he not been there. For an incredibly conscientious, accommodating, and professional DJ, you would be remiss to select anybody other than Roberto of Monastero Entertainment. Bravo!!

Roberto is hands down the best DJ in the Chicagoland area! He is an absolute joy to work with and I could not have asked for a better vendor for the day of my wedding. I gave Roberto pretty much complete control of the wedding reception and he did not disappoint. It was so amazing to work with a vendor that I had zero concerns about and needed no assistance the day of the wedding. He made the planning process stress-free. The music, lighting, and flow of the reception was nothing short of perfection. Many of our guests even asked for our playlist! (Which we had to say we did not have one since Roberto played what he felt the room would like). You cannot get a better DJ than Roberto!

Let's start from the beginning, shall we? We had our wedding on November 7 and booked Monastero Entertainment in February. Roberto and his team all went out of their way to accommodate our crazy schedules so that we could be comfortable with who would be working our wedding. We ended up having John C. as our DJ for the ceremony and reception and he was the perfect fit.

On to the day-of. John arrived with all of his own equipment and immediately knew who to ask questions to -- not the bride (me). He went straight to our coordinator and he was ready to go. He set up his own equipment and took the initiative to make sure our keyboardist and officiant were set up comfortably. We also used their uplighting for our venue and it was perfect - I also must add that it is some quality equipment... I don't know how many people accidentally ran into those lights as the evening went on.... There were no glitches (that I knew of!) and everyone had an amazing time with John as the DJ. He even came out and sang our last song of the evening, "Take Me Home, Country Roads," with us.

Overall, Monastero Entertainment is INCREDIBLY professional and really handled their own shit (excuse my language, but it's true) - we never once had to remind them who we were or the date of our event... We met with them, checked in a couple times to make sure we were on track, and they showed up on time. I will definitely refer them to anyone who needs DJ services.

We had Joe as our DJ and he was completely amazing!! In the months leading up to our wedding Joe was helped us gather a timeline for the big day. He was extremely helpful in getting everything organized, from music to speeches to even timing of food courses. His style of music was everything we expected and more. He started with some oldies earlier in the night and moved on to top 40 as the night went on. He also stuck to our "do not play" and "must play" lists. Everyone had a blast and our guests all complimented us on our DJ at the end of the night. We also rented the photo booth from them, which was also great. They gave us a copy of every photo in a book at the end of the night. Overall, a great experience and I would recommend Joe to anyone out there. As a side note, we hired Monastero because we were really impressed by Roberto at another wedding we attended. Overall, a great team, couldn't be happier.

Monastero Entertainment went above and beyond for our wedding, and provided EXCEPTIONAL service! My husband and I were aware of the company’s fantastic reputation, but never had the pleasure of seeing an event ourselves. Well, our expectations were blown out of the water when we finally were able to see them in person for the first time, at our wedding reception. In the planning process, Roberto was fantastic to work with – he was incredibly flexible, and accommodated all of our requests, including a handful of last minute changes to the original plan. I filled out the template on their website and he emailed us back within five minutes! He was incredibly responsive, and always made time for us when we had questions. He made us feel like every question we had/request we made were perfectly reasonable, and was very helpful in making key decisions related to the timing and flow of the reception.

During the wedding reception itself, he set up the music to flow perfectly for every single step of the process. The introductions, the cake cutting & first dance went smoothly, and made us feel like we knew exactly what we were doing up there, despite never having done any of those things in front of a crowd before . Not only did things go smoothly with the music, we also had the pleasure of hearing Roberto perform a number of songs himself, one of which included a serenade to my mother, the mother of the bride. After the guests joined the dance floor we couldn’t get them to leave! The music was great, and was timed in a way that made people want to stay on the floor for as long as possible. Friends and relatives spent the next morning telling me how sore and tired they were from all of the dance moves they broke out the night before. We can’t thank Monastero Entertainment enough for making our wedding reception a night we will never forget!

Roberto was fantastic. My husband and I had seen him perform at another wedding prior to ours, so we knew he would be great, but he went above and beyond our expectations.
He was helpful in guiding us smoothly through introductions, first dances, and cake cutting. He played the perfect music throughout the reception--great oldies but goodies to get everyone dancing (even the older folk) at the beginning of the reception and then newer jams as the night wore on. Our dance floor was filled with people the entire night.
We also loved the photobooth--we so appreciate all the great pictures and memories we have from many of our guests in the wonderful book that was created for us.
So many people at the wedding asked us about Roberto, and he may even be performing at another wedding we're attending later this year--my husband and I can't wait because Roberto is truly that good. Such a great talent and great person--thank you for making our wedding reception so amazing.

Wow! Where to even start? We met with Rob and Joe and immediately signed a contract with them (they were the only DJs we met with), because they were so genuine and personable. They were both very knowledgeable about music and weddings and made our lives easy from day one.
Joe was our DJ for the wedding, so we met with him one other time to plan. Again, he was so approachable, knowledgeable and fun to work with. We felt very confident that he would be fantastic on the day of the wedding. We didn't want to make the playlist ourselves, so we just told him our music taste and goals and he turned that into gold!!!
The music at our wedding was PERFECT and the dance floor was full the entire night! Even while we were dancing, guests were telling us how great our DJ was. How amazing is that!! When anyone asks what our favorite part of the wedding was, we always say "the dancing!"
We would DEFINITELY hire this same DJ and STRONGLY recommend this company to everyone!

Roberto had been the DJ two of my family friends' weddings and did an AMAZING job! So I knew when I was planning my wedding that I wanted to work with his company!! I had Joe as my DJ and I couldn't have asked for a better DJ! He did such a great job at keeping the music flowing and keeping people on the dance floor the entire night!! He was so easy to work with and the on-line programs helped us to slowly make decisions and changes to the music for our wedding. Monastero Entertainment exceeded our expectations as a vendor for our daughter's wedding. The communication lines during the planning process were always open, with meetings and email being prompt and friendly. We built such a trust that we recommended them before we actually heard the final product. And sure enough, their service on our special day was PERFECT. He provided music for our outdoor ceremony. He was also our DJ for the wedding reception. I can't help but say only great things about him and his work. Every time we spoke on the phone or met in person he was so positive and excited. Even on the day of the wedding he was smiling the whole day.

Roberto is responsive, professional, organized, and gives you exactly what you want for your big day. There are DJs who don't listen to the music you request, but Roberto makes a point to play exactly what you ask.

Additional services: Roberto mixed a special track for a choreographed father/daughter dance. We also had uplighting and a photobooth provided by Monastero Entertainment. I would hire Monastero Entertainment again in a heartbeat for any future events.

We hired Monastero Entertainment to provide DJ services and the Photo Booth for our wedding in August 2014. We were very happy with everything that was provided! Roberto and Joe were a pleasure to work with. They gave us a competitive quote and provided our guests with great service. The music selections were just what we wanted. Our guests said the music was really good and despite the older crowd (ages 35+ ) at our small wedding -- lots of people ended up dancing! Joe really could read the room. A fun time was had by all! A big thank you to Roberto for all his help with the music (planning and execution) for our wedding reception. It was so great working with him and the music turned out awesome! We loved the way he mixed all of the music sets; he was able to combine Indian (Hindi, Bhangra, etc) with some of the old-skool hip hop selections with such ease. It sounded fantastic.

Futhermore, we received so many compliments on how great the music was. (a couple of our guests were planning to leave earlier stayed a bit later because they couldn't stop dancing.) It was a night to remember... :)

I would recommend Roberto for any function. Our party was ROCKIN. He kept everyone engaged the entire night, couldn't have been nicer and, believe or not, sings really well! We had people at our wedding offering to fly him to other parts of the country to be the DJ at their events - he was that good!

Robert was a wonderful contact, though he was not our DJ. Our DJ was Joe Delfin and he worked tirelessly with us to ensure our day went smoothly. He helped us pick our songs and made great selections with the music as we asked for only top hits. He also incorporated some older hits for the parents, which they loved!! The night went perfectly and I would definitely recommend them. They provided a photo booth and uplighting for me at a great price and were extremely flexible and friendly!!!!

Roberto knocked this one out of the park. Our caterer (the wonderful Maria Collins at Sweet Baby Ray's) recommended him as they work together frequently. After the first phone call with him, we knew he was the right choice.

Roberto is incredibly friendly, funny, and understands crowds. At our wedding, he had the whole dance floor packed from the first song to the last number of the night. He was incredibly flexible, too - my dad contacted him about making a "megamix" for our father-daughter dance, and he happily obliged. Then a few days later when my husband contacted him about adding on a surprise flash mob for me after our first dance, he got right into the spirit about how he was going to trick me - and it all went off without a hitch!

His music selections were great, he was budget-friendly, and his online system for picking and choosing songs was super easy to use. You can also arrange to meet him in person at his family's restaurant, Monastero's, which has incredible food and makes for a fun night!

I would highly recommend, and more importantly, so would our guests - throughout the night they kept asking my husband and I if they could use him for future events!

I had first experienced the awesomeness that was Roberto at a friend's wedding. Normally I am not on the dance floors at weddings, but this particular one I couldn't seem to stop moving. I didn't know that I would be getting married a few years later, but when I got engaged, I knew that Monastero Entertainment would be one of my first calls.

We were fortunate enough to get the master himself, Roberto, to be our DJ/MC at our reception recently. In three short words - He Is Amazing. This is a sentiment that has been shared by each and every person we've spoken to about our wedding. The first statement is inevitably - "Your DJ was awesome!"

In the hectic whirl of (often times painful) wedding planning, he made everything super easy. It only took a couple quick phone calls and emails to secure him for the day and get contracts signed. We met with him a couple weeks before the wedding and discussed specifics. After letting him know our music styles/types, we basically gave him full reign and let the expert do what he does best. He had a bunch of great ideas for our entrance, first dance, etc. and he truly delivered.

From the moment you meet him, you definitely feel the passion he has for his work. You feel that he truly wants to make your day special and is eager to make sure everything goes perfectly.

As much as I hated wedding planning, I want to have another wedding just so he can be our DJ again! There is nothing bad I can say about this guy and neither can 33 other previous reviews. BOOK HIM IMMEDIATELY!!! :)

Roberto provided an amazing experience for our wedding. He read the crowd and adapted to their moods. People I did not expect to see dancing were out on the dance floor, having a great time!

Many people complimented us on the DJ choice and those go straight to Roberto!

In addition, he timed the ceremony music perfect and adapted to some last minute changes with ease.

He was extremely responsive with emails as well. I heard from him within hours of sending emails and that was great considering I was planning a wedding 1,000 miles away.

This review is for Roberto and Joe. Roberto did my sister's wedding he was AMAZING. So, when the time came for my wedding, I requested for him. Because he wasn't available, we went with Joe (who apparently DJ'd for Roberto's wedding) and we couldn't be happier! Our dance floor was full all night long and people came to us to compliment the DJ, specifically! Joe played all the requested songs as well as good mix of songs that everyone could dance to. Roberto Monastero from Monastero Entertainment is an AMAZING DJ!!!! He came HIGHLY recommended from our wedding planner. He guaranteed that our guests would leave complaining about sore feet, and they were still complaining about their burning feet and legs on Monday morning. We provided a song list but requested that he play the music that our guests seem to love the most. Our dance floor was packed all night long! He is great at reading the crowd!!! He also made a beautiful slideshow for our wedding per our request and has great song recommendations. He is very professional and prompt with his responses by email or phone. Roberto Monastero just DJ'ed and MC'ed for us at our September 1, 2013 wedding. We saw him DJ'ing at a friend's wedding a couple years ago, and knew we had to book him right away when we got engaged. He was the first vendor we booked - he is that good! He is BY FAR the best DJ I have ever encountered, and I have been to MANY weddings. He was very thorough and covered all the basics before the wedding. Then at the wedding, dinner music was spot on, and then he kept everyone dancing on the dance floor through the night...there not a single moment when the dance floor was empty. Song transitions were seamless while keeping in mind the audience on the dance floor. He played songs for the older crowd, younger crowd, and everyone in between. People were complimenting us all night on how fabulous he was, and how much fun they were having. As a surprise to us, he even sang a couple songs himself! That was amazing! He was so good, we thought it was part of a track! We would recommend Roberto to anyone looking for a DJ. He's awesome!

Roberto Monastero is the best DJ we have ever experienced. He did both my son's wedding in 2009 and he just did my daughter's wedding on August 10, 2013. He had the crowd on their feet the entire time. He masterfully blends one song into the next and selects them with an expert eye on the crowd and what works for them. In addition to being so good at his craft, he is extremely easy to work with and always willing to go the extra mile. I never write reviews about anyone, but felt compelled to do it this time. Roberto was amazing at our wedding. He kept the dance floor moving throughout the evening and even sang a song for us. Everyone was impressed at the variety of music played, his attentiveness to requests from the guests, and his overall enthusiasm for the event. Roberto responded to all of my emails within minutes of me asking my questions and made sure that the music worked with the theme of our wedding. I would recommend Monastero Entertainment and specifically Roberto to anyone looking for an awesome DJ for their event.

We also utilized the photo booth through Monastero Entertainment which was awesome. The guests really enjoyed it and all the props to use in the photos, and I now have a book full of all the images with individual notes from my guests next to their photos. So glad that we did this too!

We were so happy with Monastero Entertainment for our wedding 2 weeks ago at Union Station. Both Roberto and Joe were so easy and fun to work with! Their website was super user friendly and my husband and I were able to make a play list for our wedding prior to the event. Joe was our DJ and he did a great job of integrating our playlist with a few other hit songs and Motown songs to create an amazing party. Our dance floor was full the entire time! They both worked with us to make the sound great in such a huge space with a budget friendly speaker system. Roberto even helped make a special daddy/daughter surprise dance for me which included a medley of songs with a Georgia theme. The dance started off slow and the record scratched to a rap song and then a line dance- a total surprise and a hit at our wedding! All in all, we had an amazing experience and would recommend the company over and over again. Thanks guys!

Roberto and Peter are the full package of personality, professionalism and skill. We had every bit of confidence that they would keep things rolling on our wedding day from the walk down the aisle until the last song played... and boy did they deliver. Roberto was very responsive throughout the entire planning process- he answers his phone and responds to emails within minutes. And the answer is always YES. On wedding day, Peter used my suggested song list to get things rolling and read the crowd to keep everyone on their feet. Until my wedding, I had never before seen EVERY SINGLE PERSON on the dance floor from the first dance until the last. I worked with Roberto on both uplighting and a photo booth. He was extremely responsive as we had a last minute cancellation from our photographer and needed the photobooth on very short notice. My cousin had Roberto as his wedding DJ about 3 years ago and was still raving about awesome he was til the day I got engaged a year ago. So the first (and only) DJ we went to see while planning our wedding was Roberto. Besides the fact that he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, he is also very professional and was open to any and all ideas we had. His website made it very easy to add songs/details to our reception and he executed everything perfectly. We had a special request for a groomsman intro and the execution was flawless and the crowd loved it. The best part was that he seemed as excited about all the ins and outs of our reception as we were. I'd recommend Roberto to anyone planning a party. Guy played the best music, set the perfect tone for the night, and kept the dance floor packed all night. Oh, and he also totally surprised us by serenading us during the first group slow dance (while customizing the song for us a bit too). Had many guests tell me the music/night was awesome and I know Roberto was a huge part of that. Roberto is the man and worth every dollar.

We chose to use Monastero Entertainment because Roberto had been the dj for our company holiday party a couple times then he was also the DJ for our friends wedding and we absolutely loved him! When we were booking our wedding he was not available but John was! He was just as outstanding as Roberto! We wanted to make sure that there were people on the dance floor all night and he was able to do just that. Everyone raved about how awesome he was! Plus, during dinner he played exactly what we asked him to, it wasn't too loud, and again, everyone loved it! He was in constant contact with us through out the entire planning. I also loved that we had our own personal planning page on their website that we could fill in all of our music, requests, do not play list, names of parents and attendants, ect. He also called a few days before the wedding to make sure he was pronouncing all the names correctly which I loved. They are really great and I highly recommend them!

I was lucky enough to have both Roberto and Joe at my wedding this past July (2012), and it was awesome. My friends and I were on the dance floor for hours, and Roberto very quickly figured out what our favorite music was - they even made new mixes on the spot! My friends are still talking about how much fun it was, and after attending several other weddings recently, I am more than grateful for Roberto and Joe's professionalism!!

Roberto helped coordinate the entire evening and was the perfect MC for the cake cutting, first dance, etc. He'll even sing if you want him to (and my mom's friends still can't believe how great his voice is - they thought it was a recording!). He listened to all of my song requests, down to the hints of Disney here and there. At one point in the evening he noticed the beautiful sunset over the lake, and found our photographer so we didn't miss the perfect picture! Roberto continually checked with my husband and I, and our family, to make sure we were having a fun time and to see if there was anything we needed.

Roberto made our wedding magical. It was absolutely perfect (which many people cannot say) as he kept our guests entertained. We received compliments from everyone telling us how amazing the evening was. He kept everyone on the dance floor the whole night. Even the people who worked at the Doubletree said they've worked many weddings but our's was far superior due to the music and organization.

All I can say is "WOW"

Who would have known that a DJ could "make" our wedding? We didn't ... but Roberto Monastero "made" our wedding reception an event to remember. Of course we knew music was important, but we never realized the power of a truly great entertainment professional -- because that's what Roberto is. Not just a kick-a** DJ, but a flawless emcee (and phenomenal singer... if you want).

The music at our wedding truly ROCKED. My husband and I were hell-bent on making sure that the music at our wedding was "cool" -- the furthest thing from stale wedding music you can fathom. Roberto not only delivered, he blew us and our guests away. The entire wedding party, from older (60s and 70s) to younger (20s and 30s) were dancing NON-STOP the entire night! I've never seen anything like it! He mixed music flawlessly and introduced cool club-mixes that got the crowd pumped-up. In addition, Roberto made sure the events of the evening flowed smoothly (i.e., cake cutting, first dance)...he announced each with poise and elegance.

We have friends (all in their 30s, many of whom frequent the NYC club scene) who are still calling us and asking "who WAS that DJ???!" He was that good. In fact, my husband and I said that if we had to do it over again and had to choose between a top Chicago wedding band vs. Roberto, we'd pick Roberto again, HANDS-DOWN.

If there is one vendor you choose for your wedding that you can hire with complete confidence, it's Roberto Monastero.

My husband and I booked Monastero Entertainment for our DJ services after the manager at the country club where we hosted our wedding recommended him. He said that I can promise you that your dance floor will be packed the entire night, and he was right!! Roberto was booked the day of our wedding, so he assigned us to work with another experienced DJ, Ervin. My husband and I couldn't have been happier with his choice. Throughout the planning process we spoke with Roberto and Ervin regarding our style and preferences. I am not picky when it comes to music, I just asked for stuff to dance to and nothing cheesy. My husband on the other hand has very particular music tastes, so I thought it was going to be a challenge to make everyone happy. However, the day of our wedding we had the best playlist I have ever heard at a wedding. Ervin gave us a night of incredible music that my guests, husband, and I loved. I never once left the dance floor after the reception dance music started, and it seriously remained packed the entire night! It was the most fun and best night of my life! Not only that, but Roberto and Ervin are the nicest guys, so easy to work with, and came at a great price. I hope to work with them again in the future!

Roberto is a stand out DJ!!! He played an excellent variety of music and kept the floor hoppin all night. We met with him in person only once (I live out of town) and he was still able to get everything we wanted perfectly. We had so many compliments from guests on how much fun he was and how receptive to requests. I would choose this DJ over and over again. I hope my cousin uses him at his wedding in May!

We had Roberto for our DJ and he was awesome. Everyone danced at our wedding. There were even people dancing on the carpet beyond the actual dance floor. He did a great job of mixing songs to keep both the older and younger people dancing. He uses a beat mix which means that one song transitions right into another song. I think that was key to keeping people dancing. I had many guest come up to me and rave about how good the music was.

Music commands the wedding reception and Roberto Monastero definitely exceeded our expectations. He knew what we and our guests wanted and the reception turned out to be one of the best days of our lives! He had our guests dancing all night long...seriously! And not to mention this bride was just having the best time!

A true class act. We had Vince from Monastero Entertainment as the DJ for my daughter's wedding. Very professional. Kept the dance floor full all night long. Played the songs that we had asked for and was a joy to work with. I would highly recommejavascript:submitForm();nd this company.

Words cannot express how much we loved Roberto Monastero. He is the absolute best DJ in the Chicagoland area. He knows his music and can read a crowd. He can get everyone to dance and he's just so lovable! I had seen him at my friends' weddings and I changed our wedding date just so we can book him. He is booked a year or more in advance, so don't procrastinate! Thank you Roberto for our awesome wedding!
