Dj mad mike was amazing!

DJ Mad Mike was LITTTT!!! Him and the company Modern Era Weddings was super easy to work with. They were super informative in the planning process, they provide a super cool portal for you to put in your songs for every part of your day. Since my wife and I are both women the portal was a little difficult because it said “Bride” and “Groom” BUT the second I brought it up to Mike if we could change it to make it easier, he was more than happy to make the changes for us. Super LGBT friendly company and DJ.
As for our wedding night, Mike was legit the best DJ we could have imagined. He took our vibe, song requests and do not plays all into consideration and did unreal. He mashed up songs on the fly, never let any song end abruptly and a new one start. He did great transitions and never missed a beat. People were RAVING about our wedding ever since and one of the things they keep saying is “your DJ was amazing and it made the whole party”.
Mike even did the coolest thing for my wife and I where he recorded a chunk of our vows from our ceremony and mashed them into our recentional song during the reception. It was a moment we will remember forever. It was so special and thoughtful. Booking him was worth every cent. If you’re thinking its out of your budget, reconsider!!!! Id spend twice as much as we did knowing how much he killed it!!

Exceeds expectations

DJ Mike is an absolute master of his craft—a true genius. He is reliable, responsive, and everything a bride could hope for to make the day perfect. The entire process leading up to the wedding was smooth and stress-free. By not hiring Mike, you'd be doing yourself a disservice. He went above and beyond, far exceeding our expectations. He catered to last-minute special requests and really put in the extra effort to make our night unforgettable. Mike has an incredible ability to read the room, get the party started, and keep the energy high all night long.

They know how to party!!!!

Couldn’t have imagined our day without Mike and modern era weddings! They brought all the fun and were extremely professional. They knew the vibe we wanted and were able to create a dance floor that had both Hispanics and Americans on the dance floor the whole night!! Mike was amazing to work with. He knew exactly how to throw a party, he was a perfect MC, and he had a setup that made our night FUN. Everyone still tells us how much fun they had at our wedding and that’s all because of Mike and modern era weddings. THANK YOU!!!

The best day!

Mike is an amazing DJ and MC for weddings. He seamlessly and efficiently provides a great flow for the evening while making everything so fun! He is very talented and kept the dance floor full the whole evening. I had an amazing wedding day and contribute a large part of that to the organization and coordinating of Mike!

Hire DJ Mike for your wedding!!

From the first time we talked to Mike on the phone we knew he was going to be a perfect fit for what we were looking for in a DJ. We had a pretty specific idea of what music we were looking for (and when) and it couldn't have gone any better.

Mike's MCing skills kept the day moving smoothly... speeches, intros, dances all went exactly how we envisioned, which given the controlled chaos of a wedding day was extremely helpful for us!

But to the most important thing, the MUSIC!

One of the biggest compliments I can give to Mike is that at no point in the night did my wife go up to Mike and request another song, and if you know her well, that would shock you.

Mike had the dance floor full the entire night with a perfect mix of all the music we were looking for, from a few classics to pop punk to house music. People are still talking about how good the music was at our wedding and we couldn't agree more.

If you hire Mike just know you are in for an awesome party, can't recommend him enough!

Amazing! Dj fletcher!

DJ fletcher is seriously my favorite! We interviewed many companies and I went with The Best DJs after speaking with Monica because the process seemed person centered and easy. They provide you with a portal to fill out your timeline, chose songs you want them to play and communicate with your DJ. We interviewed several DJs within their company and after speaking with DJ Fletcher we felt most comfortable and excited to work with him. He helped me make the timeline for our reception and provide a lot of insight and feedback to help our timeline run smoothly. He was also excited about our music styles and choices and beyond ready to play the Jewish Hoorah and Italian Tarantella for our families to come together. DJ fletcher continued to communicate with us ongoing through the process and was always available via phone and text for questions. At the reception, he got the party started with music and lights. All requests were played and everyone said he was beyond great!! we really enjoyed working with Dan! Thank you :) !

DJ MIKE AND GREG! The ultimate dynamic duo! Once we saw DJ Mike do his thing to create an epic dance party at our friend's wedding, we knew we had to hire him (and you should too!)

They went above and beyond what we asked for to deliver an epic wedding weekend. From providing custom lighting recommendations, spending hours setting up and breaking down, DJing not only the reception but the after party til the wee hours of the sunrise, this dream team really brought the weekend to life. Multiple of our guests told us it was the greatest dance party they've seen -- and two of them have now hired DJ Mike for their own parties. Dj mad mike - the best in the industry!

I literally knew I wanted DJ Mad Mike for my wedding back in 2015 when I heard him play at a family friend’s wedding. He was one of the FIRST vendors I reached out to in hopes that he had availability for our date (THANK GOD HE DID!!). From start to finish, he gave us an absolute world class experience. His systems made it so easy & hassle free to put together our dream playlist! He even met us in person before the wedding to talk over everything & to get to know us! He literally went above & beyond to add special touches & BRING THE PARTY! All of my guests kept saying “this is the best DJ we’ve ever heard at a wedding” & I proudly said I KNOW!!!

Aldo & I did a first look of our venue without anyone in yet, & he played “Lover” by Taylor Swift (told him I was a Swiftie LOL) without us even asking! DJ Mad Mike: A True Gem Who Went Above and Beyond to Help Us Plan Our Perfect Day

DJ Mad Mike is the best wedding DJ I could have asked for. He is the definition of a Master of Ceremonies, and he went above and beyond to help us plan our perfect day. He was always available to answer our questions and make sure that everything was going according to plan.

On the day of our wedding, DJ Mad Mike kept the party going all night long. He had a great sense of what our guests wanted to hear, and he kept the dance floor packed from start to finish. Even our guests who aren't usually dancers were getting down!

DJ Mad Mike is a true professional, and he is incredibly talented. He is a master of his craft, and he knows how to create a party atmosphere that everyone will enjoy. I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a wedding DJ.

The best DJ!!!

We used DJ Tyler (Tyler Foister) for our wedding DJ (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception), and he absolutely crushed it. He was detail-oriented, capturing the exact right songs and moments when we wanted to play specific songs, and he put together an amazing mix. Almost all of our guests remarked how “lit” the dance floor was, and multiple people have asked me about the DJ because they thought the music was so perfect. Tyler read the mood of the crowd, he MC’d at the right moments, and generally guided us through a perfect evening. I’d highly highly recommend Tyler for any music at your events.

Best decision ever!

We used modern era for our dj, photography, and lighting services. One of my best decision!

Mike was our DJ and did the best job at keeping our evening moving without ever rushing us. We met with Mike a few times beforehand and felt so comfortable turning over full control. Mike helped us craft our timeline including dinner, cake cutting, and dancing to maximize our party time.

We received so many compliments on our wedding afterwards and the fun atmosphere- so much of this goes to mike and his song selections keeping the dance floor full. He helped me create a do not play list and must play list including our last songs. I've attended several weddings afterwards with an empty dance floor and always text Mike (yes! He's that accessible!) to thank him for making our night perfect!

I threw a lot of curveballs at mike the day of- hello guest appearance by Roc the Panther- and he remained calm and incorporated all my changes so well.

Derek was such a great photographer. He did a great job capturing the shots we wanted while suggesting ones we haven't thought to include. Our pictures are beautiful and the sneak peeks came so fast. Again, super responsive and able to meet whenever about our planning.

10/10 recommend this team!

Sam was great!

We had Sam DJ our wedding and he was great! He was very professional and played great music. The planning tools they have made it very easy to personalize our special day. Sam picked great music to play and even took requests from the guests. He was there for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception which made it so easy for us. DJ Chris Stankay made our reception perfect!

We absolutely loved having Modern Era DJ our wedding! During the planning process we worked with Mike but due to a COVID related timing issue switched to Chris Stankay. He understood our (slightly jumbled) vision for music and had some great recommendations. Without exaggeration, every single song he played was perfect. He read the room well the entire night and even had our friends rushing back from the bathroom or bar to dance to a song. The dance floor was full the entire night with guests of all ages and he kept the energy high, which is exactly what we asked for. DJ Dan Fletcher helped make our day perfect!

Working with Modern Era Weddings and DJ Dan Fletcher couldn't have been easier, or more comforting. From the beginning, we felt completely confident that we had a responsible company and DJ handling our wedding. Communication was timely, and Mike did a fantastic job understanding our musical interests and vision for our day then connecting us with the most perfect DJ for our day - Dan. Dan's relaxed and organized communication style, and his expectations of what he needed from us, were clear from our first conversation and appreciated. We had complete peace of mind that Dan would have our celebration (ceremony and reception) locked down.
And he showed up to impress!!
From his flexibility to support some of our live musicians then seamlessly move into his own playlist, to having the awareness and care to troubleshoot throughout the day (Dan seamlessly managed our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception - all in different locations at the same venue!), to pulling and mixing the most appropriate tracks of music from our favorite artists (and favorite songs we forgot to add to our playlist, but somehow Dan seemed to know they were favorites!), and generally having a feel for the crowd all night, we could not have asked for a better DJ. We wanted a party to celebrate our marriage, with guests dancing on the floor all night, and Dan made that happen with professionalism and fun! Thank you, Dan, for being a part of our perfect day!

Dj mike - epic!

We hired DJ Mike Willis as our wedding reception DJ and the dancefloor was always crowded! Mike Willis is the ONLY Dj to Book

If you are looking for the best DJ to book for a wedding, there is no other option. It is Mike Willis!! We have been to a wedding that Mike played before and he crushed it so we had high expectations. But for our own wedding Mike far surpassed our expectations and catered to our wants as a couple. We had so many ideas, songs, slideshows, etc and Mike made the entire night flow so smoothly. Planning with Mike was easy and fun and created a sense of hype for our wedding day knowing we were dealing with a true professional. Since our wedding ended everyone raved about different aspects about our wedding. But most if not all revolved around our Dj! Our entire reception was glued to his playlist and ability to flow from one song into the next with such ease. We had ages from 18-65 at our wedding and each one of them complained the next day about having no voice and that their feet hurt from dancing nonstop for 4 hours.

I'm am usually someone who is positive but can find an aspect that I'd like to see improve. However, Mike met all of these needs. He met my wife's needs of playing meaningful slow songs, talking to her and keeping her involved in the timeline of the night, and getting guests up and down from their seats onto the dance floor.

He met my needs of playing a slideshow, keeping the energy going, and playing a ton of suggested songs.

Mike is the best. Book with confidence!

Best dj ever - kevin petted

We were lucky enough to get Kevin Petted as our DJ for our wedding. He was very responsive and listened to our vision of what we wanted played at our wedding. While he listened and played everything we wanted, his transitions from one song to the next was OUTSTANDING. Every guest there complimented him and asked who he was and what company he was from.
I have never attended a wedding where there was not 5 minutes of a packed dance floor. He was exceptional.

DJ John Stepansky with Modern Era was the best!

DJ John from Modern Era Weddings was absolutely amazing!!! We could not have asked for a better DJ. John was so in tune with what we were looking for on our big day (6/29/19). He even set up a meeting the week of our wedding to go over the details and meet each other since we had booked him over the phone. He played all of the songs we had on our must play list and then filled in the rest of the party with perfect choices! I didn't want to leave the dance floor all night! We got SO many compliments from our guests on our DJ. My maid of honor even commented that John looked like he was having as much fun as we were while DJ'ing! We would 100% recommend that engaged couples trust DJ John with their wedding music needs!

The best wedding decision ever!!

Going with Mike and Modern Era was the best decision we made. We had so much fun at our wedding and that was directly tied to the professionalism, attitude, and skills of our DJ. Working with Mike was such an easy process. He was always available and easy to contact through text or email. He uses a straightforward portal tool to get all of the details and song choices for the big day. He has a great taste in music and a true sense of what it takes to put on a great party. He also did a great job MCing the event and kept us on task and on schedule. Finally, he was gracious enough to cut our first dance song to make it flow and sound like nothing had been cut at all. I got so many compliments on the DJ and his song selection. The dance floor was popping from start to finish and there wasn’t one single moment where I didn’t like a song that was playing. The best dj!

Michael Willis from Modern Era Weddings was the absolute best DJ we could have asked for! We had talked to numerous DJs during the wedding planning process and wanted a DJ that would play fun and modern songs while adding a club-like feel to our reception. DJ Mike explained his style, which is exactly what we were hoping for, and the decision to choose him as our wedding DJ was so easy. The process leading up to the wedding was very organized. We received an email about making a profile and were able to enter information regarding our entrance dance, names of the bridal party, timeline for the reception, and a playlist, maybe playlist, and do not playlist. DJ Mike listened to all of our wants and helped us coordinate our entrance and first dance perfectly! He created a fun atmosphere at the reception and was a pleasure to work with throughout the planning process! He also made sure we were sticking to our timeline throughout the entire reception, which was very much appreciated! He was one of our favorite vendors and I would absolutely recommend working with him!

Modern Era is amazing!

We chose a package with DJ, Uplighting, Photographer and Photobooth. Everything was absolutely amazing! The photobooth is so much fun! Our guests loved it -- a few props made it on the dance floor and the photos turned out great. I received a photo album at the end of the night with a disk of every picture as the photobooth print and every single photo =) I also went away after and emailed Kelly because I wanted the photos of my husband and I from the booth but left the disk at home and she emailed me the photos right away!!!! Jenni - our photographer and her husband captured every moment of LOVE throughout our day!!!!! Photos were very important to me, Jenni and I spoke a couple times on the phone - we got an idea of the locations we wanted and everything went smooth - I couldn't believe we had over 1200 amazing photos!!!!! We also got our pictures back so quickly I was the happiest person ever! DJ Mike was so incredibly professional with everything! I made a couple changes or wanted to double check our entrance songs the day before and even made a last minute switch right before the reception and he made it happen. He listened to EVERYTHING we wanted. The final week or so we texts back and forth! He responded immediately to every question! My husband and I had one request and that was to keep everyone on the dance floor and he did just that! The uplighting was so beautiful -- it added to the room perfectly!!!!! We were sooooo happy Modern Era did our Wedding Reception - we definitely wouldn't have found anyone better for our day!!!!!!

SO happy we chose DJ Mike!

We could not have asked for a better DJ than Mike Willis! After our thorough first meeting, my husband and I felt super confident in our choice. We were provided with a very helpful planning tools that I allowed us to organize our order of the events, the timeline, and all details of the big day. We even were able to choose a playlist, a maybe playlist, and a do not playlist. My husband and I were very specific with our requests for the introduction songs and the special dances songs and Mike followed through with all of our wishes! He even listened to us and to our family and friends as we made new song requests as the night went on! Mike has such a great attitude and his only focus was making our wedding day music dreams come true! We were so happy with our choice!

The Perfect DJ

When you meet Mike, you will immediately know that he's the right person to DJ your wedding. I certainly did. When it came to our wedding, the most important aspect for me (the groom) was music. My wife and I wanted a dance party that didn't stop. Mike provided that in spades. Our wedding was in May 2018, and our guests still talk about how amazing the music was. Mike is a professional DJ - he doesn't just have a playlist or autoplay songs on an iPhone. He will play remixes, read the crowd to switch out a song if it's not working, and provides a high energy as a wedding MC. We met with Mike before the wedding to go over what we were looking for, both in terms of dance music and ceremony/cocktail hour. Mike was with us every step of the way. He even recommended glow sticks for our dancing - and he was right, they were a total hit! I wish every wedding I attended would have Mike spinning the music. He certainly will give you an awesome night that you'll never, ever forget.

Amazing DJ Experience

DJ Mike Willis and Modern Era helped make our wedding even better than my wife and I could have ever hoped. We lost count of the number of our guests that came up to us during and after the wedding to rave about the DJ and the music. Mike did an excellent job keeping the wedding on track and making sure the night flowed flawlessly. The talent and professionalism of both himself and his crew were top notch. When we originally booked our DJ through Modern Era, we were supposed to have a different DJ. However, due to a scheduling error, our DJ was accidentally double booked. To remedy this mistake, Mike Willis jumped right in and told my wife and I that he would DJ our wedding instead. He was a lifesaver and a true professional. Thank you Mike and everyone at Modern Era!

We loved working with DJ Tim Harris! We gave him a pretty tall order with our long wedding day and fusion Indian and Western weddings. He played a key role in making our wedding a hit. He was always easy to get in touch with and made asking questions and getting feedback on our musical choices very easy. Tim was also very responsive on the day of the wedding when our family gave him some feedback on the music he played during our Hindu ceremony. We did have a few technical issues with microphones for our ceremonies, but Tim handled them well and was apologetic, which goes a long way for us! Our guests loved our dance party at our reception, and his DJing at our after-party was completely on-point regarding our personal taste in music. Tim is super easy to work with and we can't recommend him enough!

We hired DjTyler James Foister to DJ for our wedding. Services were spectacular. Ty is a really good DJ. He kept people on the dance floor. He listens to the wishes of the bride and the groom. He made sure to set up a time to talk to us closer to the wedding so as to make sure that everything went smoothly. Also, he has a smooth voice and doesn't try to force anyone to dance like I have seen some DJ's do. He'll do exactly what you want and makes sure to set up very early beforehand. Highly recommended.

MODERN ERA IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!! We used them for photography, videography, DJ, and day-of coordination. They were a huge part of our wedding and truly delivered the best experience imaginable. Mike Willis was so flexible and accommodating. He met with us at my husband's office to explain the available services and he painted a picture of the MEW experience. We ended up using Kristen Vota for photography, Dan Fried for videography, DJ Scottro for our DJ, and Sarah Campbell for our day-of coordinator. THEY ALL WERE AMAZING! Kristen was so wonderful - she is truly a talented photographer. She did our engagement pictured and wedding pictures. All are amazing. Dan was awesome – we are SO excited to see the video! DJ Scottro was of course, AMAZING! He met with us before the wedding to get to know us better which made the experience all the more special. Lastly, Sarah Campbell was absolutely incredible as our day-of coordinator. I have no idea how the day would have went without her! She met with us several times before the wedding, helped us plan the day, worked with all of our vendors, managed every aspect of the day from sun up to sun down, and she did everything with a smile on her face. She also helped my mom assemble the cookie table since the Sheraton refused to do this. My mom still talks about how she truly was a life saver. Our cookie table was one of the biggest and best the Sheraton has ever seen and I owe that ALL to my mom and Sarah! SARAH AND HER MOM EVEN BAKED US GOODIES FOR THE TABLE! She even got us a wedding gift! I truly could go on and on about how wonderful she made the experience. Without a doubt, if you want vendors who are passionate about making Weddings special, the obvious choice is Modern Era Weddings!

DJ Tyler was an amazing DJ. We didn't meet him in person before the wedding, just 3 or 4 phone calls and some texts. He did amazing. A great DJ, on time, professional, and very nice. They also provided our up-lighting for the reception, I sent them the color and the matched it perfectly.

Can’t say enough great things about DJ Mike Willis and Modern Era Weddings. Very professional, super prepared, had absolutely everything covered, and most importantly, kept the party going and the dance floor packed all night! He took the time to meet with us in advance to go over all the details and ensure everything would go smoothly on the big day. He was easy to reach and answered any questions we had throughout the wedding planning process. We still have wedding guests saying how awesome he was and how much fun they had on the dance floor at our wedding. He also frequently checked in with my husband and I during our reception, asking if we needed drinks and kept us on schedule with our reception timeline. Would hire Mike again in a heartbeat. Hiring Modern Era was one of the best decisions I made throughout the entire wedding planning process!!! From planning to execution, they provide the best all-around service imaginable. Not only did Mike help us to plan every detail (from introductions to last dance), but I had so many guests tell me that it was the best reception they'd ever attended. Our party went non-stop from 5pm-11pm, and Mike, our DJ, never missed a beat. He made sure that everything went smoothly, and he had our guests on the dance floor the entire night! All of the details of the day are important, but it's the DJ who makes or breaks the party, and ours was the best party EVER!!! Mike is an absolute professional. I am so thrilled that he was there to make our day so spectacular.

A good DJ was way up on our list of must-haves after going to a wedding that had a number of stops and dead air. After looking at some reviews on the Knot, I contacted Modern Era. Mike got back to me quickly and set up a time to talk. I was sold! Mike was amazing! We got a ton of compliments on him afterwards. He kept the entire night flowing and people on the floor from the moment it opened up. Their online portal was so easy to use and allowed us to make a play and do-not play list for the night. A DJ is so important to the night and this was such a great decision! I would highly recommend!!

Everyone at Modern Era is wonderful, but Mike Willis is THE BEST! Booking and coordinating our wedding was an absolute breeze and our reception music was fantastic. Mike gave us exactly what we wanted and we didn't give him a crazy overbearing playlist..he just did his thing so that we and our guests could have a blast all night on the dance floor. He was kind, gracious, and super fun...we loved every minute we spent with him and he was worth every single penny!

My wife and I hired Thomas Walter from Modernera to DJ our wedding reception and we couldn't be happier with our decision! Thomas was absolutely AMAZING! We were running a half hour behind schedule and Thomas remained calm while helping coordinate with our other vendors to ensure we were able to complete everything we had planned. Thomas is a natural on the microphone and DJ table. We had an American and Vietnamese wedding and despite the language barriers, everyone was able to follow along and enjoy the evening... Thomas even went as far as to learn some Vietnamese phrases to say during the reception! As soon as the dance floor opened it was packed with extremely happy guests and Thomas kept the dancing going all night. We also used Modernera for uplighting services and a spotlight which was used for announcing out of town guests. The request for a spotlight and additional uplights were made last minute and somehow Thomas was able to make it happen! My wife and I would recommend Thomas' services to anyone looking to have a stress free and super FUN night!

I cannot recommend Modern Era Weddings more highly!! As a bride planning an out of town wedding, the idea of coordinating and working with multiple vendors for all of our wedding needs was overwhelming. I initially checked out Modern Era because I would be able to have all my services through one company, and after my first conversation with Mike Willis, I was sold! Mike and the others at Modern Era were so helpful and responsive throughout our entire wedding planning process. We chose Mike as our DJ and he was AMAZING! Not only did he keep us on schedule throughout our reception, but he created such a fun party atmosphere that the dance floor was packed the whole night!! Our friends are still talking about our awesome DJ and how our reception was one of the best they've ever been to. Seriously, pick Mike Willis for your wedding DJ! We also had Zach and Dan, Modern Era Photographers, photograph our wedding and had an excellent experience with them as well. They planned with us before the wedding to make sure we would have all the photos we wanted, and they made us feel so comfortable throughout our big day. And, we were thrilled with how our pictures turned out! Choosing Modern Era was one of the best decisions I made for our wedding, and the whole team helped make our day so special.

DJ Dave did an outstanding job at our wedding at the Succop Conservancy on 6/10/2017! Upon arriving he was immediately prepared and communicative by introducing himself and reviewing ceremony details. Throughout the day, everything went off without a hitch as he checked in frequently (but not too frequently) and we had no trouble informing him of any last minute changes, including a spur of the moment father-of-the-bride speech. He kept the party going strong into the night with his musical selection which appealed to both young and old alike, and we received numerous compliments from guests about his performance. All in all, experience speaks for itself and David Noel and the folks at Modern Era Weddings really know what they are doing. 10/10 would hire again!

5 STARS all around. We are very very pleased to have booked Modern Era Weddings to get the party started and to keep it going. We booked DJ Xavier as our DJ because we have seen/heard his work around town (South Side and downtown). Everyone stayed on the dance floor all night long! He was very flexible to accommodate any request that was thrown his way (including a special mix for our first dance). Everyone loved the photobooth and was a huge hit at the reception. Our videographer, Mike, captured every special moment of our big day (from the nervous sweat pouring from our heads before the ceremony started to the sweat dripping down the groom's back at the close of the reception). He did not miss a beat. The uplighting was very beautiful and added that special touch to the beautiful ballroom. Mike, (owner?), of Modern Era Weddings went out of his way to provide 5 STAR services for our big day. He would respond to any of our questions night or day, text, voice, or email. This company is highly recommended!

DJ Mike Willis is the best. We booked DJ, Photography, Video and Photobooth through Modern Era and were not disappointed about anything. Mike kept the party going all night long and made sure that he stuck to our timeline to keep the evening moving. We had our reception at the Carnegie Music Hall, and his speaker system sounded amazing. They play regularly in Pittsburgh and have great relationships with other vendors we worked with. Highly recommend using this company!

What else can I say, save yourself the time in looking for a DJ/MC/master of all things/person to get the party grooving. We were honestly a tad bit nervous since we are Egyptian and we did not know how DJ Mike would fair including Arabic music in the mix, but he must have been Egyptian in another life. The dancing was nonstop and everyone could not stop telling us what an amazing time they had. From the get go- DJ Mike was our most communicative vendor, who was the one reaching out to us to make sure we had everything we needed, etc. He has the most amazing website portal which you can make as detailed to your heart’s desire (includes timeline song choices, a must play/if time allows/and do not play lists) and online payment system. ModernEra weddings also offers a photobooth with amazing props and plans. Ok back to the wedding day, DJ Mike coordinated with all of the venue folks, and brought his game day gear for the wedding. The speaker system was beyond amazing; again we were a little anxious with the acoustics in the Carnegie Music Hall, but DJ Mike’s speakers raised the roof and had the entire wedding reception on their feet. Literally I have pictures with no one sitting at the tables, because everyone was dancing the entire night. He was so flexible with the song choices/genre of music we wanted for background music, cocktail hour, bridal party entrances, and every song choice that was made throughout the night. He played all of our favorites and some that we forgot. ALSO, before I forget, what a star DJ Mike was when the bridal party got there (before the entrances). He whipped them all into shape and got them ready for the entrances of their lives. AND ALSO, when the AV vendor had a glitch playing our wedding trailer, DJ Mike swooped in again to coordinate with the venue to save the day. he is awesome, B) communicative, responsible, fun, C) worth every penny and so much more, and D) should win awards for what he does Oh wait, he actually has!!

Modern Era and Mike Willis are hands down the best in Pittsburgh. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who is serious about making their wedding the absolute best day of their lives. Mike was extremely responsive and full of ideas for the ceremony and reception when I wasn’t sure what to do. He kept me level-headed, stress free and organized through the entire process. I told him what songs I wanted and left the rest up to him for the ceremony, absolutely best thing I did, I was not disappointed! Mike kept everything organized and on time the entire day, making it so much less stressful for me. Mike and Dave Noel absolutely made the night! I have had so many compliments on how fun and elegant my wedding was and how amazing the DJ’s were. I would absolutely recommend Modern Era!! We had the pleasure of having Dave Noel as our D.J. for our wedding in June. Modern Era met with us, got a feel for who we were and what we wanted for our music/party atmosphere and thought he would be a good match for us. It was the best decision that could have been made! My guests and I danced ALL NIGHT! That's how we wanted it to be. Dave honored our requests and had a fun, professional attitude all night. At the end of the night, the venue told us they've never seen wedding guests dance so much. It was an awesome feeling! Some of our guests have already booked Dave for their upcoming weddings. I highly recommend Modern Era and Dave Noel for any event you want to be fun, organized and worry-free.

Basically, best decision I made was hiring DJ Mad Mike and DJ Tom for my destination wedding in Miami Beach Florida. And I say that for multiple reasons...
1. My ceremony got pushed back since it was raining and the ceremony was on the rooftop terrace. Although we were slightly freaking out, Mike came and told us to just relax, this was our day, and if we wanted to wait it out he was on board even if that meant he had to throw a cloth over his equipment if it was still raining. He also got us drinks to calm our nerves. Then when it was GO TIME he rounded everyone up and moved them all up to the terrace single handedly. It was a godsend in that moment.
2. Mike had us so organized and on time for everything throughout the night that I didn't have to think or worry about a thing. I just let him direct and keep it all flowing. At no point did I have to track him down, he was way ahead of me (which is commendable since my profession is Event Planning! Exactly why I didn't want to think on my own wedding day, let someone else do that on the big day.)
3. Music = Party till you literally can't anymore but then you do because your Jam comes on!!! Tom and Mike killed it with the music/dancefloor. I definitely gave a list of my faves but they mixed it, did some cool mashups, played old & new & party music throughout the whole night. I only had 75 people at my wedding and not 1 of them left the dance floor the entire night!
4. Last but certainly not least Mike and Tom are just genuinely good guys who truly care about your wedding day and want it to go as perfect as you do.

This is why you don't compromise on quality or standards you expect. I have said it before and I will say it again the DJ will make or break your wedding. That is a fact! My friends, family, and my husband bring up how amazing these 2 guys were and finally understand why I flew them to Miami to be a part of our wedding. They are by far the BEST you could ask for in the entertainment industry!!!!

We hired DJ Tyler to be our DJ for our wedding reception and we couldn't have been more pleased. Even though we were running a little behind schedule our guests never would have realized it because Tyler kept everything running smoothly. I am still getting compliments from our guests on how great the DJ was and that the dance floor was never empty. Great job Tyler, Brendan and I can't thank you enough!!

We booked DJ Tyler for our wedding and we could not be happier with our decision. I have gotten nothing but compliments from our wedding guests about how amazing his mixes were and his upbeat personality that made my wedding day so much fun. Prior to the wedding, he was extremely responsive, and willing to do whatever I needed to make my wedding day stress free and a great time! Absolutely amazing work by Mike Willis & Modern Era! Mike set a great tone for the evening and kept everyone on the dance floor all night long. A DJ can make or break a wedding - Make sure to make your wedding memorable by making Modern Era your DJ of choice! Also, the videography & uplighting were excellent upgrades to make apart of your special day. We couldn’t have been happier with Mike!! He is, hands down, the BEST DJ in Pittsburgh! Mike went above and beyond what was expected. We knew from the first time we met him that he was our guy!! He is very confident in what he does (as he should be!) and proved to both, my husband and myself, that he is very passionate about his job. Mike played a very big part in our wedding day. From the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, to the reception, to the end of the evening- he was ON POINT! I couldn’t have asked for someone better to make our day so special and memorable! Mike made sure everyone was where they were supposed to be…he kept the night moving along nicely. He was very involved and checked on us frequently to make sure everything was good. We chose specific songs for our ceremony, but let the reception up to Mike and he did not disappoint! We told him what kinds of music we liked and he ran with it!

We used a few of our own personal GoPro cameras to capture some of the memories. Mike went out of his way and took it upon himself to move a few of the cameras so that they could capture the best angle, the speeches, and especially our first dance! He provided us with the utmost professional (and friendly) service that we hoped for and more!! Mike and Modern Era Weddings far exceeded our expectations!! Thank you so much!!

Look no further….you NEED to book Mike Willis with Modern Era Weddings as your DJ!! Crazy as this sounds he was the only DJ I looked at. His name was given to me by my photographer who is also based out of Pittsburgh, whom I completely trusted. When I went to Modern Era Weddings website and saw that Mike was the DJ for the hottest nightclub in Pittsburgh I knew I had to have him at my wedding! Only issue was he was in Pittsburgh and I lived in Maryland (I’m originally from Pittsburgh) I gave him a call anyways to see if there was any possibility of him coming out to Maryland and to my amazement he said he would travel out there and DJ!! I mean who does?! Right off the bat Mike and I connected. He seemed to know exactly what I wanted without me telling him. I love to dance and it was very important for me to have a DJ that could play great music and keep everyone entertained and on the dance floor. Well let me tell you, he brought his A game and certainly OVER delivered on my expectations. Not only was the dance floor packed all night, I received so many compliments praising how good he was and wanting him to DJ at all my friends upcoming weddings. Mike was not only an amazing DJ, he was also very attentive and caring to my needs that day. On several occasions he took the time out of what he was doing to make sure that my day was going smoothly and if there was anything he could do for me. My friends and family to this day still talk about Mike and how much fun he was! Thank you for making my wedding the best day ever Mike!

Mike was absolutely amazing!! He came to our rehersal and worked so well with the officient to coordinate the timing of the ceremony. I didn't really give him any songa except for what the wedding party was announced to and the dances but he kept the dance floor packed all night long. We have had numerous compliments from guests about our DJ as well as pepole asking us for his contact information so they could have him at their event!! I honestly can't say enough good things about Mike, he was such a pleasure to work with!!

Mike was amazing! Our original vendor fell through last minute and Mike happened to have a cancellation for our date. The stars aligned perfectly for us to work together. We had a tight timeline so I gave Mike the basics and trusted him with the rest! He was amazing! I basically trusted him with my wedding and it was awesome! He was very responsive, polite, easy to work with and trustworthy! We also used them for video and Photo booth and were very pleased with those as well! Overall perfect experience!

We are so happy that we went with Modern Era Weddings with DJ TJ Harris. It was important to us to work with a DJ that was able to mix, understand us, and keep a party going, and TJ went above and beyond to fulfill all of the above!! TJ was professional, fun, quick to respond, and had great suggestions, which was exactly what we wanted. TJ was there our entire day, from before the ceremony to set up until after 2am when our after party finished. He switched locations throughout our venue for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception without a hitch, stuck through the heat at our outdoor ceremony, and graciously volunteered to play our after party for several hours which is something that he truly did not have to do (but that we MUCH appreciated). He did a fantastic job of not only getting people on the dance floor, but keeping people on the dance floor. We had some last minute changes and updates that he rolled right along with. Even beyond how great he was to work with, he is a skilled, seasoned DJ and just watching him in his element was fun in itself.
We felt secure in going with Modern Era from our first contact with them and felt that they truly cared about making our day awesome. Their online system is incredibly easy to use and was helpful at keeping things organized for everyone. I had several songs that I expected to be difficult to find, and TJ was able to find them all and work with a Spotify playlist that I had for cocktail hour and dinner. A DJ can truly make or break a wedding, and my husband and I can definitely say that going with Modern Era and TJ Harris MADE the wedding from start to finish. I cannot think of a single negative thing to say other than I wish that we had an excuse to have a giant party with TJ to DJ again. Thanks Modern Era and TJ!!

We used TJ (Tim) Harris through Modern Era. We felt the DJ was one of the most important parts of our wedding and TJ delivered. He worked with us to deliver exactly the type of music we wanted for our wedding night. The dance floor was packed and he added several awesome touches to the night. DJ Tyler at Modern Era weddings was amazing! If you are looking for a DJ who is fun, entertaining, a great MC, personable, and reliable, you definitely need to book with Tyler. From start to finish, he made our reception perfect! Modern Era Weddings took our wedding to a whole new level of unforgettable.

Tom Walters provided an exceptional DJ service and went above and beyond our expectations. He was very easy to work with through the planning process and was organized, thorough, and knowledgeable. During the event he was very professional, prepared, flexible, communicated well with us, and did an awesome job keeping the night moving smoothly. The whole night was seamless with DJ Tom on the mic! The sound system setup was impressive and Tom did a great job keeping the volume at perfect levels through cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. We were seriously getting compliments ALL night on how AWESOME our DJ was!!! He played a fun variety of music that appealed to all ages and really read the crowd to keep the party going. He's the BEST!!!!

Our videographer Josh was somehow everywhere capturing all of the special moments yet he was so unobtrusive and professional that no one even noticed him filming!!! He undoubtedly captured the special memories of our ceremony and the moments leading up to it, the picturesque landscapes during the photography sessions, and the interactions of all of the guests at the cocktail hour and reception- especially during the dance party. Josh collaborated well with the other vendors and was very professional. I am overjoyed that Josh was there to capture our day and am confident that he will produce a spectacular video for us that embraces all of the emotions, beauty, and fun. I can't wait to experience the day again through his lenses!

Hands down the best part of our wedding day, was our choice in DJ Dave Noel. He did a fantastic job with music and keeping everything moving smoothly. So amazing, we are still talking about it! TJ and the crew at Modern Era Weddings were simply outstanding! TJ was professional, responsive, and thorough. He asked great questions during our two meetings, and really listened to what we wanted. DJ Step came at an price and went out of his way to make sure all of our requests were met. DJ Mike is better than any review you will read. Reviews try to describe his services, but it is such you have to just book him for your wedding. We spent hours reading over reviews of DJ's. We were torn on who to book. However, after meeting Mike we knew he was the DJ for us. His services at the wedding were above all expectations. Weeks after our wedding, guests continue to talk about “the DJ”. We could not be more pleased with DJ Mike and he comes with our highest recommendation!

I would definitely recommend Modern Era Weddings! We had DJ Mike Willis for our wedding and he was great to work with. We met with him a few times before the wedding because we weren't sure on introductions and other music for the night. I would highly recommend them for your DJ. Mike did an awesome job. We were scrambling to find a DJ 2 months before our wedding because ours cancelled on us due to health problems. Mike was amazing. We used Modern Era for our uplighting and decor. We chose to have light blue and white uplighting against our red/gold/silver color scheme as well as bogo snowflake lighting (white snowflakes on bright blue light) and it looked simply spectacular. My husband and I chose to have a first view of the ballroom before the reception and the beautiful decor and lighting simply took our breathe away. The team did an amazing job and our guests are still raving about how elegant and beautiful the ballroom was. Thank you Modern Era!

Modern Era Weddings is unquestionably the best DJ service in Pittsburgh. The planning process from beginning to end was extremely easy and professional. The online planning tools made it so easy to create a timeline for our wedding and pick out the songs for the processional, dances, etc. Mike set us up with Thomas P Walter to be the DJ for our wedding. Tom was amazing as the DJ/MC. Picking the music and making a timeline was probably the most difficult part of the planning process for me and I walked away from my final meeting with Tom feeling confident that the day would be perfect and the music would be as well. Tom really was the master of ceremony keeping the day running smoothly, making announcements, and most importantly keeping the dance floor packed! I had numerous guests comment on how fun our wedding was because of the music and dancing. Besides the “special dance” songs I picked out, Tom was in control of the music played and it was on point. We had a mix of young and older guests and everyone enjoyed the music selection. Modern Era and Tom definitely helped to make my wedding day memorable and one of the most special days in my life. I am completely satisfied with Modern Era, and Tom is, hands down, one of the best DJ’s in the area.

I can't say enough good things about Modern Era Weddings. We had both the dj and videographer package and both were INCREDIBLE!

DJ MIKE IS AMAZING!!!! First off, he knows how to throw a good party! Our dance floor was packed from the beginning to the end of the night with everyone having a great time! He knows how to cater specifically to the crowd to please everyone.....I am still getting compliments on our DJ over a month later. Also, not only was he awesome AT the wedding he was so incredible to work with throughout the whole process.......he was flexible with meeting times, took all my worries away about the wedding timeline, and definetly made us feel special on the days leading up to and the day of our wedding. I can say not only did we find a great DJ, but we found a great friend.

Secondly, I can't say enough good things about Josh the videographer. We debated about purchasing a videographer and 100% it was the best money we ever spent. On your wedding day, as much as you want to, it is hard to take everything in. We have watched our highlight video at least once a day since we've gotten it and cried every time. Josh always managed to be at the right place at the right time and capture all of the special moments. He is also great to work with. Josh was able to mix his vision with our suggested vision and come up with one of the best wedding videos I have seen.

Overall, Modern Era Weddings is the BEST!! I wouldn't recommend anybody else!!

Mike was hands down the best DJ we could have ever imagined. He kept the dance floor packed all night long, even with last call being announced. We expected everyone to start heading out once the open bar closed, but it took over 2 hours for people to finally thin out from the dance floor. Mike was able to get people of all ages on the dancing, including those who say they "don't dance." Multiple people have told us how sore they were the next day from dancing so much! I highly, highly recommend having Mike as your DJ, you won't regret it!

Modern Era was one of the easiest vendors we worked with. We worked explicitly with Mike and he was phenomenal. He answered our questions very quickly and was super chill to work with. We even stopped by the shop a few times to hang out and go over details. People are still talking about how awesome the music was and even though it was wicked hot out, we always had a full dance floor. My husband and I got SO MANY compliments about the music at our wedding! DJ Tom was AMAZING! He was easy to work with at both of our consultations, was willing to communicate via email and text and was very easy to relate to. DJ TOM! What can I say..??!.AMAZING. We had a formal wedding at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort but we are not formal when it comes to the dance floor! We live in Arlington, VA and found this company through stellar online reviews. Tom came out of his way on his own time to meet us months before the wedding when we were visiting for our tasting at the resort. He is the coolest guy but very passionate and professional about making your day the most amazing as possible. He really cares about the couple and what they want. From Sinatra style music at cocktail hour to oldies, 90's, Today's hits and even a little EDM at the end he made every transition as smooth as could be. He's a great MC as well. We even had a special entrance song and group dance to Uptown Funk right before dancing kicked off. He was flawless through every step. Thank you Tom for being an awesome part of our wedding! I can't even begin to express how much we appreciate everything that Tom, Josh, and Josh did to make our wedding day so incredible. From our very first meeting, they made us feel confident in our decision to use Modern Era for our DJ, Videography, and Uplighting needs.
The Uplighting: We chose a venue 2.5 hours south of Pittsburgh. Knowing that it wasn’t an easy trip, we assumed that we would give the dimensions of the room, and that would be that. This was not the case. Though we said it wasn’t necessary, Josh drove down during our final walk through to plan the lighting. He drove 5 hours round trip for a 10 minute meeting with us. I gave him an idea of what we were looking for and he nailed it. And it was a huge relief leading up to the wedding knowing that he had actually seen the venue and created a plan to make the room look exactly as I imagined.
DJ and Videography: Tom and Josh were UNBELIEVABLE!! I cannot recommend them enough. Tom was always available to answer any questions that we had leading up to the day. He was so thorough in his planning that we had no doubt that things would run anything but smoothly. He made sure that every request we had was fulfilled. He kept the dance floor packed from the first song to the last. This, by the way, ended up being much later than planned. Everyone was having such a great time, Tom and Josh extended the evening an extra hour without hesitation or extra cost to us! What other company would do that?? They made our wedding so much fun for us and for our guests. No words I can write will ever do them justice.
We still have people reaching out to let us know what an amazing day they had. We owe it to Modern Era. You guys went above and beyond and we can’t thank you enough.

We had DJ Tom Walter for our wedding and he was AMAZING. Everyone always told us that the DJ makes a wedding, and he sure made ours incredible! Everyone was on the dance floor even on the first song and there wasn't one song played where no one was dancing. Tom was very professional and is such a nice guy. He took time to come around to Frankie and I to make sure everything was going as we wanted and that the timeline was correct and how we wanted it to be. Tom was always there to answer my (million) questions and was very helpful at our meetings. He was very easy to contact if we needed anything prior to the wedding. We would absolutely recommend Modern Era Weddings and especially DJ Tom Walter!

DJ Scottro dj'd for our wedding on 7-25-15. I don't have enough good things to say about him and the rest of the staff at modern era weddings. DJ Scottro could not have been easier to work with and he was genuinely happy to take part in our day. He kept the dance floor packed the whole night and played every song we requested without any trouble. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for the best dj for their wedding. Honestly couldn't have been any better, thank you for being so professional, easy to work with, and most importantly nice.

DJ Tom was the best! He was very responsive and helpful in the planning stages. He understood our desire for minimal mic chattiness, and was also open to a little research when we named a few unknown artists we wanted for cocktail hour.
Our timeline for the day was slightly thrown, but Tom was right there with us at every step! We later had lots of guests compliment the smooth musical transitions, and I almost missed dessert because I didn't want to leave the dance floor!

Mike from Modern Era Weddings was our DJ and he is FANTASTIC! He was our DJ for our 7/25/15 wedding reception at Oakmont Country Club. He was very helpful and flexible during the whole planning process--always responsive and professional! He was very attentive during the actual day/night and made sure our timeline ran smoothly and we got everything we wanted! Mike is an awesome announcer and MC! He checked-in with my husband and me several times throughout the night to make sure we were happy and getting everything we wanted! He has a GREAT mix of songs that kept the dance floor bumping the whole time! He even incorporated our use of about 200 3-ft glow-sticks flawlessly on to the dance floor about half way through the night! He was energetic and kept the pulse of the reception up all night! Everyone commented on how good our DJ was! I would definitely recommend Mike to anyone looking for a fabulous wedding DJ and who wants to have a kick-ass wedding reception!

DJ Tyler Foister was wonderful! He was great to work with & the dance floor was full the whole night. I received many compliments about what a great DJ he was. One of my guests even said that he was the best wedding DJ she had ever heard! He also kept our wedding timeline on track. We danced the whole night! Thank you.

I have been to several weddings where Dj Bill had the dance floor packed all night. The day we got engaged I knew we had to hsve Dj Bill. We could not have asked for a better experience with our Dj. Bill was available to answer our questions and share his expertise. We didn't want the traditional cocktail hour and dinner music. We told Bill we liked 90s music and my husband is a movie buff. He created a 90s mix for our cocktail hour and a mix if movie scores for dinner that had our guests talking all night. Our dance floor was packed all night. Bill played the perfect songs at the perfect times and read our crowd perfectly. I wanted a mix of 2 version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow for the father daughter dance and Bill did that exactly as I imagined. He took all the crazy requests our family had, including polkas and conga line songs. Our wedding was more fun than I could have ever dreamed of and the party wouldn't have been as great as it was without Dj Bill
