Vow Renewal - Huzzah! An Excellent Experience
We had a simple ceremony at the Chapel Garden to renew our vows on our 10 year anniversary. Katie Kline was our coordinator and the Winter Monk was our officiant. Both were professional and knowledgeable. In our email exchanges with Katie to get everything set, she was really great about making sure we did the things on her list as well as answering all of our questions. Both Katie and our officiant were easy to get ahold of on the phone as well.
The rental fee had some parking passes and tickets included--all of that went really smoothly in the parking lot and at the gate. Our attendees had no problems and had a blast. Katie was present during the ceremony, which was lovely.
The Chapel Garden is not private. We had a few random festival goers cheering for us when we kissed. But that was completely fine with us. There was a wedding going on at the same time inside a private tent.
Our day was not the BIG day, but if it had been, I think it all would have gone just as smoothly. And Katie did not brush us off for any request even though we were renewing vows as opposed to getting married.
Of course, the festival itself was fantastic. The highlight for the kids was the Mermaid Cove. It rained on and off all day, but it was too much fun to care. Lots of great memories made. -

A Dream Come True!
The team at the festival were all great to work with for our big day! Although actually getting my wedding parry into the venue was a bit tedious, we were able to get into the location with plenty of time to get dressed and see everyone enter before the ceremony. The rooms they gave us to get ready in were adorable and completely period appropriate. It had a mirror, lighting, and hanging racks. The venue is just stunning! And the actual events we took part in made the whole day feel special and dreamlike! As it was so much cheaper than a stereotypical wedding AND didn't feel cheap AT ALL - I FULLY recommend this venue for weddings OR just attending every single year! It's a place where everyone feels seen and valued and appreciated in their amazing garb. There are no odd stares for wearing elf ears or wearing multiple different colors, just a beautiful cornucopia of beautiful oddness! 😍 The amount spent for everything for the wedding was about $4k BUT the venue itself was only $900 plus $110 for a harpist.-

A truly magical wedding :)
This was by far the best venue we could've picked! The food was delicious, the entertainment was hilarious, and the festival grounds were gorgeous. Very little decorating was required on our part! Our coordinator Katie was extremely helpful through every step of the planning process. Thanks to her, our wedding went smoothly and everyone enjoyed themselves! We highly recommend this venue- whether you're having a traditional wedding, or a renaissance themed one. (We might be biased, but we'd also recommend going all out in medieval costumes! The venue really helps you and your guests get into the spirit of the renaissance!) -

Super great full and very lively
Throughout the whole day when I, the groom, was stressing over everything and anything our wedding coordinator was able to help me keep calm. The bar tending staff was amazing cause not only did they serve the drinks but they were also getting in the groove as well. The food was excellent and served on time with precision and excellence. We booked this venue over a year and a half before our wedding. We chose opening day of the festival. We paid for all the tickets for our friends and family, and I loved that I just gave them a list and there were no issues. We got married in King’s Arbor and I was concerned that the day was really hot. The team had water right at the end of the aisle for the guests to drink and there was more water in Bad Manor, where we had our reception. The team setting up dinner in Bad Manor was great. They were concerned that we hadn’t eaten and even boxed up some food for us to take with us. It was such a great experience.-

We are not even from the country but Allison was able to get us all booked and ready over the phone.
Also helpful with information about how to get the licence and such.
We just had to show up and she guided us all to the venue. (Be sure to give plenty of time for travel and parking though!!!)
Compared to any other kind of wedding, and considering the great venue, the cost was incredibly cheap.
(We did not hold the reception there, that is where costs go up sharply)
The intern Abby was also exceptionally nice. She was very happy to help with taking some photos. The park should hire her and offer photography as a service
It was also fun around the park after the ceremony. In every possible way it was better than an expensive, 'normal' wedding -

We were married at the Ren Fest 10 years ago, amazing experience! We decided to do it all again and celebrated our anniversary there with the vow renewal package. Even with the light rain, we had an wonderful time! We go every year, wouldn't miss it! -

We met at MNRF so naturally this was the perfect choice for us. We wanted simple, no hassle with a beautiful setting and that's what MNRF will give you (or as elaborate as you want to go!)
Staff is very responsive and helpful. We had a great experience! -

We loved the Renaissance Festival for our venue. Our guests had a wonderful time, the food was delicious, and they were very accommodating when the weather decided not to cooperate. We would highly recommend to anyone who wants a romantic, unconventional wedding. -

We think we've already convinced a couple or two to have their wedding at the Renaissance. We had the most wonderful time of our lives as a wedding should be. Most weddings are more serious and a lot of work. We had little to no work involved and we had a serious amount of fun and so did our guests. Everyone had a great time! Including the us the bride and groom! Wish we could get remarried there every year! -

since this was a renewal we knew what we wanted which made it a lot easier to be able to relax. Katie always answered our questions and worked with us on deadlines. We opted to do an optional reception at the feast of fantasy, the guests that stayed had a great time. -

Alex Kosse was the event coordinator for my wedding, and she truly came through for me. Everyone was impressed that I was able to plan a wedding within 3 months, and a huge part of that success was due to Alex. She answered every question I had, was super friendly throughout. The wedding was beautiful, my guests had a ton of things to do at the festival, most people even came dressed up for the festival. I'd highly recommend anyone who wants a fun and different wedding to have it at the Ren Fest. -

This is the most beautiful place to get married. You can go traditional, or dress in renaissance clothing. Before the ceremony, the queen gives you her royal blessing and a wine toast, with beautiful goblets as keepsakes. -

This was the perfect venue for our. The staff was friendly and efficient. We worked closely with Rachel and she did a fantastic job.
The food was not that hot when served and the beef medallion option for dinner had small portions, but the turkey drumstick option was superb!
We were blessed with perfect weather, so our guests were comfortable. Not too hot, not too cold.
The pricing structure was fair and Rachel and team were flexible in getting us exactly what we wanted in order to make our day perfect!
If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change one bit of our Wedding Day! Highly recommend! -

We booked a year and a half in advance for the perfect July wedding date. We wanted a romantic place with great scenery for pictures and a place where a horse could take me, as a bride, down the isle to my new husband. This was the place. There was a pasture for my horse to graze after the ceremony. The food was great, the entertainment was great, and the setup was great. The only downsides were that there was little shade in the ceremony area and it was 95 degrees out, so almost everyone sat on the groom's side, even my family and friends, and there were no real toilets, only portapotties, which are worthless for a wedding dress. We went in the off season, which meant that we didn't have to deal with the bad smell the castle gets during the feast of fantasy, due to the lack of air conditioning. But the site was great, the grounds were perfect, everything was lovely, and they let me have my horse there. It was a perfect place for a beautiful wedding. And it was also very affordable, and they came up with vegan and vegan-gluten-free meals for all my guests! Everyone loved the food. -

The Renaissance festival was fun but there are issues.
The Renaissance Festival is VERY ridged to work with on all issues. The following is just a couple of examples: 1) We could not purchase more than one block of time. You get a 2 hour block for $700 and that is it. 2) we had 150 attendees, so we ordered chairs for the event and the entire issue became a nightmare. I repeatedly asked Midway Rental and the Renaissace Festival to contact each other and neither did until 2 days before the event and this added an extra $200+ to the cost of the chairs. 3) We had many people who were comming in wheel chairs and health issues and the Festival would not allow our driver to drop people off at the door. They would not admit this but I think we were the largest wedding they have had to date.
The food we ordered was not good. The turkey legs were black and really tuff. They ran out of coleslaw 1/2 way through the serving line. I have eaten at other events put on by the Renaissance Festival and I know the food could have been much better.
They provided our music and an actor for the wedding. All the people they recommended were excellent to work with did a great job.
If you use the Renassiance Festival keep it small and do not go with Turkey legs -

I went through four or five different event planners. I dealt with a period of silence between each one until they found a new one for me. Emily, my final event planner was willing to work with me more than the others had been and she seemed more prepared. However, I wish I would have been told about another reception going on at the same time as ours considering we couldn't hear any of the speeches and their music was overpowering all of our activities. Also, I didn't know we had to be out at exactly an hour and a half after the reception had started in order to make way for another one. I thought we would have time to tear down the decorations. The whole thing was rather rushed and stressful. Otherwise, it was a memorable day and a fun one too. I just wish our guests hadn't been so confused due to the other reception. After all the work I put into it, I was a bit disappointed with the lack of information and preparedness I had needed. -
