Great experience working with the Arboretum staff!
The space was very nice for a smaller reception, the food was great, the staff - responsive, kind and willing to make our ideas work for us. Highly recommend! -

We love the Arb!
Planning a wedding in a pandemic is no joke, but my husband and I were so grateful for all of the kindness, flexibility, and patience of the Arboretum staff - Carissa and her team know how to host a beautiful wedding!! Carissa answered my hundreds of questions leading up to the day and helped our vision for a small, intimate ceremony in the beautiful gardens come to life. I am so thankful that we chose to get married at the Arboretum, and the beauty of the setting itself really showed on our perfect fall day! -

We had such a wonderful experience with Carissa and the Arboretum staff. Planning was really professionally handled and the staff were responsive and friendly. On our wedding day, everything was taken care of. Carissa helped with some welcomed place and timing guidance and she was there to support during our entire ceremony rental time. Our venders were familiar with the venue and knew exactly where to go and who to look for to trouble shoot. Guests found our ceremony location easily and it was such a beautiful day. Thank you :) -

My advice: Get married here! Gorgeous gardens and perfect for an intimate ceremony or a larger one. Carissa was VERY responsive and helpful! The staff on the day of were also VERY helpful! Everyone and everything was perfect. We ended up not doing a meal here because of cost and a small budget but would have totally had the whole event here if possible! -

We held an indoor ceremony at the Arboretum on one of the coldest days this winter (so far!). I know the Arb is a popular summer wedding location, but we loved it in the winter as well.
We were offered a backup outdoor ceremony at no additional charge, but I am very glad we decided to stay indoors. (On a warmer day, the outdoor option could have been nice!) The Fireplace Room was beautiful and needed little decoration. Our catered brunch was delicious and served right on time. My husband and I went through the buffet line near the end, but there was still plenty of food and it was served at an appropriate temperature. The staff we interacted with, from Events & Catering and day-of staff, were all helpful and professional. I am very pleased with our choice of venue, and would wholeheartedly recommend it to others looking for a winter wedding venue in the Twin Cities. -

We had our ceremony at the Landscape Arboretum in October of 2012 in the Sensory Garden. It was beyond PERFECT!
Of course you never know what you are going to get with planning an outdoor wedding in Minnesota during the month of October! It did end up raining during the morning of our wedding, but our day of coordinator, Mary, knew how badly we wanted to have the ceremony outside. She was a huge help in watching the radar and helping us make the call that morning. I know the staff was in the garden before the ceremony wiping down all of the chairs and making sure everything was dry for our guests. Thankfully it stopped raining before our ceremony and it was absolutely incredible!
The garden was stunning, the trees still had lots of beautiful fall color, the staff was so helpful and so wonderful to work with. Both Mary and Lindsay were a huge help in the months, weeks, and days leading up to our wedding – especially the day of and during our rehearsal.
We would highly recommend the Landscape Arboretum to anyone. We only held our ceremony there, but with our experience, I'm positive holding a wedding reception there would be outstanding as well. -

Our wedding day at the Arboretum was amazing! There are so many beautiful places within the Arboretum, a person couldn't go wrong with any garden.
One of the best features that the Arboretum has is a back up plan for all of the outside weddings, you would have your outside location and in case the day comes and the weather doesn't cooperate, they will move your celebration inside automatically!
We had such a great day! -

Everyone thinks of the landscape arboretum as a summer or fall event space, but I used them for my winter wedding and it was beautiful! We used the great hall for the ceremony and it was amazing with all of the christmas decor. We used the Snyder Auditorium for the recpetion and it provided a cozy spot for a wonderful dinner. Mike (food services) and Jackie (reservations) were fantastic to work with! I also recommend Linda Fullerton, the day of coordinator that I hired through the arboretum. -

Everyone at the Arboretum was amazing. There was an overall wedding coordinator that we dealt with who coordinated with all the different people (caterer, florist, dj, etc.) for us. It really took a lot off our plate. many of our vendors had already worked there in the past and were already familiar with the setup as well. Mike the catering manager was always available for questions and meetings. Lindsey our event manager was outstanding and made sure my wife and i had everything we needed every step of the way. It was definately worth every penny for our ceremony and reception. -

We looked at a number of locations for our outdoor ceremony and reception and I am so glad we ended up going with the Arb! It was SO beautiful and the staff people were really easy to work with. There were so many fantastic spots to choose from for our wedding pictures. If you can get the weather to cooperate, this is THE spot for a perfect day! -

Our wedding was in Snyder Hall, which was the perfect venue for us. The staff was very accommodating, helping out with any issues that came up and returning our calls and emails almost immediately. Overall it was a very smooth process, and a beautiful place to have a ceremony, especially if you're looking for more of an elegant or classical feel. -

Loved Corissa! Already love the Arboretum! Everybody loved being at the Arboretum. My one thing was it is a bit expensive and I would have liked to have the options of more chairs since my spot could hold more people than the limit of chairs. Things to keep in mind; no smoking/drinking, guests must walk to location majority of the time, they do not provide any sound equipment. Overall very glad with the outcome and it was a good fit for us to to do it here. -

We had our ceremony in the Wilson Rose Garden for about 75 people. It was perfect setting and the staff was wonderful to work with. I found any emails or questions or visits to the garden that I wanted were promptly responded to. I felt comfortable in their expertise and the fact that they have had many, many weddings to know what to do whenever a situation arises like rain, lateness, etc. The opportunity to hold it indoors free of charge (you can't pick the space) was a major bonus in minnesota. They were very good at keeping visitors out of the garden so we didn't even notice we were in the middle of a public space. The rose garden was beautiful! Tons of opportunities for pictures. Can't recommend enough for anyone considering an outdoor space. -

We held our ceremony in the Japanese Garden at the MN Landscape Arboretum. The garden was the perfect setting for a small, intimate wedding of family and a few close friends. Carissa was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout the entire process. The staff worked with us to provide accommodations the few guests we had with mobility challenges. We had a beautiful (and refreshing!) water station set up in the garden for our guests. The staff had a indoor option prepared for us in case the weather turned. Overall, it was a wonderful experience! -

Overall I really loved working with the Arboretum. Charlene was a good first point of contact and Lindsay was so patient and responsive with all of my questions. Michael was just as helpful with the catering questions we had. I thought their prices were a bit on the high end, but the venue was beautiful. Having the garden attendants to do things like start the music for the processional was also very helpful. Most helpful, though, was Lindsay. We had a tornado scare the day of the wedding and as my hopes and dreams of having an outdoor wedding ceremony were fading, she came through with an amazing suggestion and I think the ceremony turned out better than it would have before. I'd highly recommend any bride and groom have their ceremony and reception at the Arboretum - the grounds are stunning and there is a high level of customer service that's tough to be matched! -

More available handicapped parking. When hosting an event, please make sure that the contact people are available via phone call. It took us a long time to find anyone. Our room was locked also. Many thanks to the wonderful woman at the information desk who took care of us. My apologies to the woman who was helping us put together our rainout location, we stuck with our original plan of using the peony walk. It turned out wonderful and we were very pleased. -

Great for ceremony, too restrictive for reception
Kara is amazing! We worked with her from the beginning stages of choosing a location in the arb for our wedding ceremony all the way to the day of our wedding. Kara not only ensured nobody would walk on the path behind us during our ceremony, but she also kept us calm when we visited the night before our wedding to scope out the location. Kara also literally ran to get a rug we needed right before our ceremony and didn’t appear fazed at all. The arboretum itself has a wide variety of ceremony spaces for different sizes of groups, styles of ceremony, and budgets. Our only complaint would be that it is not a great location for the reception. They restrict catering to their in-house chef and there were not many options for people with dietary restrictions beyond vegetarian. As a ceremony space, however, it was perfect, and we were thrilled. -

We really enjoyed having our wedding at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum and would do it again (but God willing won't have to ever do it again). Anyway, what a beautiful place!! We appreciated working with the people and they had someone helping us at our rehearsal and the wedding day. It was kind of spendy but worth it for a beautiful outdoor wedding. We had 250 people at our wedding and had our ceremony in the Shrub Rose Garden. It takes more planning to do that because it's a 1.5 mile drive for all guests and there is limited parking so they ride in a shuttle. We walked in the back so that's only 1/4 mile walk for the wedding party. :) They weren't flexible in terms of sound. We couldn't have it as loud as we would have liked for the going out celebration song back down the isle. -

We had both our ceremoney and reception at the Arboretum and everything was great. The food is very good and very well priced; the venue rental seems high at first but you do get what you pay for. The grounds are exceptional; our photos were amazing, the wait staff was very good and friendly. We had so many complients on the location and how nice it was to have them both in the same place. I did have slight concerns with the reservation staff at first(communication was a bit bumpy) but everything worked it self out in a fair amount of time and didn't hinder my opinion of them.... after the kinks were worked out the rest of the process went perfectly; they are quick to respond and truly want your day to be perfect! I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.. well worth the $$$ -

It was beautiful. Great place to take pictures! Guests could walk around the grounds after ceremony and before the reception. They did change the menu options 3 times before we got a final menu. The food was great! They did not want to have the reception earlier than 6 but we made it work for a cost. (I think it was one of their first summers having larger weddings). There were a lot of hidden costs. -

The Arboretum was a beautiful place for our wedding! We got married in the Sensory Garden which was a great size for the number of guests we had come. Our reception was in the Macmillan Hall. You have to use their caterer, and the bar only is allowed to serve bottles, no kegs. When we did a taste test, we loved the food we tried! On our wedding day, we were disappointed with the quality of the food. We wanted to do our favorite foods, so we chose the pizza buffet and then did the happy hour package for a late night snack. The pizza on our wedding day looked really cheap and not appetizing. The taste was OK, but not great like the one we taste tested. Also, the happy hour package was supposed to include boneless buffalo chicken, but the chicken was not served with buffalo sauce! I didn't notice this until way late so I never had a chance to say anything that night. Overall, this was a beautiful location for the ceremony and the Macmillan hall was a nice place, but I did not enjoy the food we got. It was was too expensive for the quality we received. The staff though, was great that night! -

This is the perfect site for an outdoor ceremony but costs a pretty penny. For an hour ceremony it is $1,000 dollars. You do get to use the grounds for pictures before hand, which is a huge plus because it makes for great photos. However they dont include a few things in the price to rent the garden, you also have to buy a membership, get a million dollar insurance and if you need a place to get ready that is going to cost you another $75 to rent out one of their class rooms. Very spendy but my guests were very impressed and they also got to enjoy the arboretum before hand. If you plan on using a garden that is a ways out in the arboretum you can rent a trolley (which we did) it worked out great but that is another $100 an hour. The planners were quite helpful half the time but some of the volunteers were very rude the day of...... If you want the perfect outdoor venue this is it but know they lack in service, afford ability and professionalism -

While everything went just fine with our ceremony in the Tea Room, I felt that for the price that we paid that the service was lacking. Charlene wasn't very responsive in regards to my questions/concerns regarding our ceremony. Also, I felt that I had to convince her that I knew what I wanted to do in regards to our ceremony. While the location is beautiful and we were really pleased with the way the Tea Room looked, I was disappointed with the service. -
