10/10 would recommend MilestonesDJ!

We found Rick from our venue's list of vendors and decided to give him a call. He had great energy from our very first conversation and throughout the planning process. The online portal where we filled out our must-play songs and our don't-play songs were easy to use and made it easy to add or remove songs during the months leading up to the wedding. We discussed the genre types we listened to, described a little about our guests and what they like, and a little about what we didn't like. He has 30+ years of DJing experience and it definitely showed the night of our wedding. He came prepared with all the equipment needed for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, all 3 "events" happening at different places within our venue. He was great at feeling out the crowd to what would get everyone, and I mean everyone, dancing and enjoying the wedding. Two months later, our friends and family are still talking about how much fun that evening was.
Rick and I first connected in February 2021 for my October 2021 wedding. During that time, we spoke 2 or 3 times to go over details and was very responsive to my texts and calls. He assured me not to stress the little details the night of - and I didn't have to. Thank you Rick for bringing the fun!

Rocking Dance Party

The music was excellent – exactly what we wanted! Rick played the songs we specified and included some others that we hadn’t thought of that were totally in line with the genres we focused on. Our guests were dancing all night, truly the best dance party we have ever experienced!

The Best you will come across!

Milestones DJ delivered all we wanted and more. Rick and his team are highly professional, energetic, and organized. I could not have imagined a more perfect DJ. Even with a wide range of guests ages in attendance, we got tons of compliments about how much everyone loved him. He helped in every way and the music selection was diverse and perfectly executed. You can’t go wrong hiring this team for your wedding or other event!

Totally amazing!

Rick was awesome, I did not pick out any songs, just told him the genre as we liked and he killed it! Super personable, easy to chat with and was so accommodating especially during the event when something changed or didn’t go as planned, he went with the flow and brought the party!

Wonderful Wedding DJ

Make our day so special and so unique. He has such a huge variety of songs and was able to give us exactly ether right vibe at our wedding. All of our guests said it was one of the best playlists and he was one of the best Djs they’ve ever seen. Would recommend him over and over again! Perfect Wedding DJ !

Rick was fantastic ! He kept our daughters wedding festivities on point and had even the reluctant guests dancing the whole night! This was our first experience planning a wedding, so we were very appreciative of his knowledge and professionalism. An experienced DJ is a MUST for a wedding and Rick was simple awesome !!

What a great DJ

Rick was great, we had a fairly nontraditional wedding and were very busy on the day of our wedding, not able to talk to him much. He set up and handled everything perfectly and helped the day flow exactly as it should have.

Seamless, professional and intuitive

Amazing company, what a wonderful experience we had! Rick was extremely easy to work with and a great communicator. Our DJ was very intuitive and knew what kind of music to play at cocktail hour in to dinner and dancing. We highly reccomend you guys, perfection!

Everything I had hoped for!

Very professional and easy to work with. Huge song selection and great party atmosphere.

We had Rick DJ our wedding this last weekend and he did a great job. The ceremony was outdoors about a mile away from the reception and he provided sound for both. Everything was flawless and very easy. His set up, breakdown, and flow of the day was all done with no direction from us besides a phone call the week of to establish times and songs that we wanted played. Thanks Rick, we had a blast! You definitely made us feel like it was our day.

Great Job!

Milestones DJ was professional and was easy to communicate with in planning. As the bride, I was nervous about the ceremony because I only told him what songs I wanted played, but everything transitioned smoothly! He did a great job and everyone enjoyed dancing! Thank you!

Great Wedding DJ!!

Rick did a great job facilitating music and mics for our wedding ceremony and then later played great tunes for dancing through the night. He was timely, very nice and great to communicate with. Would highly recommend!

My daughter’s wedding had to be moved out of the Napa Valley due to fires. She had been making plans for a full year. We had 3 days to pull together a new wedding site 100 miles away. Finding a quality DJ at the last minute was quite a challenge. We stumbled upon MilestonesDJ on the web. We had immediate response to our cry of help! Rick got us organized and David put together the perfect music (after a short interview with the bride’s friend). He was the perfect DJ helping to keep the evening moving. His professional style helped make everyone feel at home and comfortable. Use these folks!! They really do things right!

I am so grateful that we booked Milestones DJ for our daughter's wedding, which was a formal event with 150 guests. Rick's website made it easy to plan the timeline for the day and evening, from background music when the guests were arriving all the way to the closing song at 11 pm. Going into the big day, we had the peace of mind that he would keep us on schedule. Rick has Hollywood rock star quality and surely could be making more money in SoCal, but he likes living in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. With his expertise, the timing of details such as processional, recessional, speeches, first dance, etc. went smoothly. He also knows how to turn down the lights at the right moment and get the party started. My daughter and her fiancee chose some of their favorite dance songs ahead of time but trusted Rick to make most of the selections. He was very intuitive regarding matching music to the audience and included dance tunes for the older crowd as well as the bridal party and their friends. Rick has the right combination of professional focus and personal charm to make any event magical and memorable.

Rick was so amazing, really. I've never done a review before because it never seemed deserved but he really hands down deserves all 5 stars!!! Everyone was commenting on how great he was and people were taking his card. So nice, fun, professional, and easy to work with. I am so glad that I chose Rick to DJ my son's wedding a few weeks ago. With so many details that go into planning the Big Day, we never for a moment had to worry about the music! From the very first meeting, Rick was so helpful, professionally guiding us all the way. Rick is a DJ Extraordinaire, with a vast musical library, great sound equipment, and experience to match! At the reception, he had an uncanny ability to "read the room," playing just the right mix of music to keep the dance floor grooving all night long. And Rick was about so much more than just the music.... He so impeccably timed all of the announcements ( the toasts, special dances, throwing of the bouquet, cake-cutting, etc.), that the whole reception just flowed seamlessly. And all of the above, he accomplished with a sense of warmth, charm and humor. Needless to say, I would hire Rick to DJ my next event in a heartbeat!

Rick was available all through planning with any questions had. He was always super nice and professional. Brad was an awesome DJ & MC for us, he went with all the flow of everything we did, with no issues, and was amazing & professional the entire time. He even brought us water right after our ceremony while we were taking pictures!

I would highly recommend having a DJ, and second, book him if he's available. You will be really happy with how organized he has and the fun he brings to your event.

Milestones DJ went above and behind our expectations. Rick was very professional, responsive and a pleasure to work with. We were able to contact him day or night with anything we needed. He helped make our special day seamless and so enjoyable. He kept things on schedule and played all the right songs (that were a majority of his choice) to keep us dancing the night away. He did have the songs available that we requested with no problem at all including an instrumental version. Prior to getting married we hadn't put much thought into how important having this service would be. I'm sure I speak for many couples when I say we highly recommend Milestones DJ for any event. After hiring Rick to DJ our wedding, we were really impressed. Rick knows how a wedding should flow in general, and adapts easily to what you tell him you want. On the day of the wedding, he handled communication with the other vendors in order to make sure things were running on time, and adapt the schedule when we weren't on time (we had some adaptations around food, and it was mostly invisible since Rick kept things flowing). Rick was super responsive before the event, and friendly and helpful. When he asked us about some important preferences (such as which songs to play during which parts of the ceremony) and we weren't totally sure, he asked us a few questions then provided multiple rounds of suggestions until we found something we liked. The last thing I want to mention is that while I wouldn't say Rick was cheap, he was affordable, and the other DJs we talked with who were of his caliber were far more expensive. He was worth the reasonable money we spent and I'd recommend him to others and contact him first if I should need a DJ for a future event.

Loved working with Rick! He was super professional and really fun to work with. You start the process when he sends you a link to his system. You create an account and from there you can customize every aspect of your wedding. I liked that you could do a "Must Play List" and a "Do Not Playlist." You can also make payments online which was super helpful since most vendors only take cash or check. Our wedding went to smooth and he was really helpful at keeping us on track. Definitely made our wedding fun and special.

From the first conversation about what was wanted/needed/expected to the execution of the event Milestone DJ was the best of the best in my book. On the day of the event Rick's experience came through with a flawless performance. He executed exactly what the bride, my daughter, wanted. When things started to slow down he picked them up. He worked with the caterer and photographer hand in hand to create seamless transitions from one phase of the event to the next. At the end of the evening I asked my daughter if this was the wedding she had envisioned. Her reply was "It was perfect". That is all I could hope and ask for. Rick had a huge hand in that "perfection". I would highly recommend Milestone DJ for your event.

One could not ask for more from any DJ than Rick from Milestones DJ Entertainment did for us. He was absolutely professional in every way - the prep beforehand, the wedding ceremony, and on to perfect background and dance music duing the reception. When I need a DJ the next time - the decision will be extremely simple - Milestones DJ Entertainment. They are superb!

Milestone DJ was great! I had a unique wedding where music was very important. My tables we're organized by band names instead of table numbers, a song by each table's band was played as they went to get food. Rick, our DJ pulled this off perfectly. He also helped the entire night run smoothly by playing the MC role. We greatly appreciate his services and would recommend Milestone DJ to anyone looking for a DJ.

Rick was our DJ and he was awesome! He called a few days before the wedding to go over everything to make sure we were on the same page. On the day of the wedding the songs were all played on time and were all the right songs. He got the guests on the floor dancing without doing anything cheesy and keeping the groom and I the main focus. The groom and I let him pick the songs for while we were eating and for the dancing (after all the "special dances") and I am so glad we did.
After the wedding I had so many friends say they wanted to have the wedding again, with of course the same DJ! He was a hit, even after my husband and I left for the evening!!

We couldnt have been happier with Milestones DJ. He kept everyone dancing, all the ceremony songs were exactly as we requested, he coordinated the speeches well, and a few major announcements were very polished and professional.
He was on time and we eneded up partying for 2+ hours longer than expected, which was great!! We were so happy everyone was having so much fun and really enjoying the music.

I hired Rick from this DJ services for my wedding this April, and I would have to say I have never been more impressed with a wedding DJ before. He chose the perfect music all night based off guest requests and what people liked/did not like. He had awesome photo op songs with all the guests, and knew how to get everyone dancing! He helped with coordination between all the vendors and event staff, and helped us stay on schedule! By far he was the best choice, and his price was hundreds below anyone else we found! Instantly made me feel at ease, and was there anytime to answer and questions or answer general wedding questions. Would recommend his services to any bride, or anyone who needs a DJ for an event! I hired Rick to DJ my wedding in October 2013. I recommend his services to any brides looking for quality. My wedding was Gatsby themed, which takes place in the 1920's. It was difficult to find a DJ who was able to play music from that era. Rick worked with me to match exactly what I wanted. His music selection is outstanding.

Rick let me choose the main songs, such as the first dance, ceremony, etc. He built a playlist for me around the songs I chose, which were newer current songs and blending the 1920's era into it as well. The end result was magical. He kept the pace flowing smoothly at the reception. He is full of great ideas if you ask. I had some trouble choosing the father daughter dance but the minute I told him that, he was writing a list of songs I may like. How great is that?! So, ladies, he is fantastic and very easy to work with. He is personable and professional. Hire him.

Thanks so much to Milestones for making my daughter and our new son-in-law's wedding a truly wonderful night to remember. Everyone thought the DJ was great. There was so much dancing and partying going on. Rick Tracewell did an absolutely outstanding job. He was extremely helpful from the beginning, had the best attitude, and always answered his phone/emails when I had questions. He understands the high stress levels involved with weddings, so he made sure to take care of everything on his end in a timely fashion to make it less stressful on the planners.

A month prior to the wedding, Mr. Tracewell drove to the location of the event and was able to offer advice to make the wedding experience better for everybody. The suggestions he made ended up saving us a lot of time. As far as services go, they were outstanding. We were provided with a sound system for both the ceremony and the reception. The music for the ceremony was beautiful, and the officiant was hooked up with a mini microphone and the volume was perfect.

We fell 45 minutes behind schedule, but Rick was able to keep up every step of the way. The reception was awesome. He definitely catered to all of the various ages of people in the party. And the volume was awesome; loud on the dance floor, but quiet enough for the people at the tables to carry out a conversation without having to yell. Overall, Mr. Tracewell did an outstanding job. If we were to have another party, We would definitely hire Milestones DJ again.

Milestones DJ was extremely professional and did an EXCELLENT job on my wedding day - Rick is the MAN! Everything went smoothly and Rick even saved the day when my 6-year-old step son was quite upset that he had to go home late that evening and Rick played Mr. Roboto for him, which immediately cheered him up and led to 5 plus minutes of "the robot" dance, and my step son then left with a family member very peacefully. Without my husband and I hand-selecting songs for our wedding (we had no time to do so), Rick created a playlist from a handful of requests (must play songs) that totally fit our musical tastes. He did an amazing job and I highly recommend him to everyone getting married...he is the BEST DJ - and I say that as a Wedding Photographer myself. The absolute best!!

Rick was a fantastic DJ and I would highly recommend him to friends, family, and anyone looking for a great DJ for their wedding or event! Professional, organized, punctual, high attention to detail, upbeat positive attitude, very intuitive in knowing what the crowd wanted to hear.
He was very perceptive in anticipating what kind of music we liked - we were so busy in the weeks before the wedding, we barely told him what kind of music we wanted him to play. He took that and rolled with it and did a PHENOMENAL job. I danced with my husband and all of our friends for at least half the night. He played a good variety that appealed to both the older and the younger members of the crowd. Everyone had a great time.
The transition from the live violin/piano duo playing to Milestones DJ taking over was seamless and I did not notice it.
He was very responsive the week before the wedding and was completely flexible with last-minute changes. His introductory email lets you know that if you don't hear from him until the week before the wedding, then all is well. And this was true. We were dealing with the possibility of having a planned PG&E power outage during our wedding, and he was awesome. Positive attitude and quick to adapt and come up with multiple solutions to the problems that might have arisen.
I saw him for about a second during the entire reception and greeted him. He was all smiles and good attitude. Would definitely recommend him!

Rick was wonderful at our May wedding in Grass Valley! He kept our dance floor full for the duration of our reception.
Rick was professional and courteous. He was willing to meet with us in person prior to the wedding just so that we could make a connection and talk about the details of our day. He made us feel at ease with the depth of his knowledge and experience. On the day of the sound was clear and on point throughout even with fountain noise. He was willing to work with our videographer's mic needs and everything went smoothly. As the bride, if there was an issue or troubleshooting involved, I was never aware of it. We were recently married, and hired Rick to MC/DJ our wedding. He did a great job at the event, and really got the crowd going. We actually didn't expect much dancing, but he made it happen! Received a lot of compliments from both our guests and even from the caterer staff.

Milestones DJ was very professional, pleasant to deal with, courteous, prompt and reliable. The music during the ceremony was played as we had planned. BEWARE! Do not hire.

We paid Rick upfront in full, once the pandemic hit and we had to reduce our usage of him from 6 hours to 1, we asked him to work with us on a partial refund and he never responded, often ignoring my fiancé's texts and calls. He scheduled a call before the wedding and wasn't prepared, calling it a "nerd wedding" and assuring us he had all of the songs I had picked. Three hours before the wedding he text me and said that he had JUST looked over my notes and couldn't find one of my songs. As we started the ceremony, he played the wrong song for my fiancé's processional song! As we took photos directly after the ceremony, he played an odd mix of some of our seating songs and some of the ceremony songs, it was bizarre. And finally, he took a video of our ceremony (probably trying to justify why he wouldn't refund some of our money) promised to send it to my husband, and we still haven't heard from him. Do not hire Rick. We felt he was so unprepared, not professional with all of his mistakes, and outrageous that he wouldn't work with us on a partial refund.
