Wonderful DJ!

DJ Mike did a great job with the music for our wedding! He was easy to work with and accommodated all of our music requests. We originally told him that we didn’t think that many people would dance at our wedding (since there were so many elderly relatives attending). But his choice of music and song order really kept the dance floor packed for most of the night! He picked a good mix of popular songs throughout the decades and he read the crowd well. We are really happy we went with him for our DJ!

Amazing DJ

Amazing DJ with great energy!!

We had an incredible experience with Mike! From start to finish, he was a dream to work with—professional, responsive, and genuinely fun. He brought such great energy to the night, got everyone on the dance floor early, and somehow kept the party going strong the entire time. He has an amazing ability to read the room and play exactly what people want to hear without it feeling predictable. So many of our guests told us how much they loved the music. If you want a DJ who sets the tone, keeps the vibes high, and makes sure your guests have a blast, this is your guy!

A Truly Extraordinary DJ Experience

We could not be happier that we chose Mike Blaufeld as the DJ for our wedding in March 2025. From the start, he took the time to understand us as a couple, our wedding vision, and the guests we were inviting. He then walked us through each aspect of the reception to ensure that everything went smoothly and seamlessly on the day of the wedding. Rather than playing a generic mix of songs, he personalized the playlist for our crowd and made sure that the dance floor was packed the entire night. The uplighting he provided was one of a kind and coordinated perfectly with our wedding colors. Overall, we cannot say enough positive things about Mike and we would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an outstanding DJ service.

We Danced the Night Away

Our main goal for our reception was to keep our friends and family on the dance floor with us the entire night -- mission accomplished. We had such a blast dancing the night away and Mike did a great job of reading the energy of the room and adjusting while also incorporating our list of preferred songs.

Mike's style utilizes his expertise and he let us know from the beginning that he wanted the flexibility to read the room and determine what songs to play. If you are looking for someone to just play your song list, Mike is not it -- his expertise runs much deeper than that and was invaluable. We found that he picked great songs and has a lot of experience, which led to an unforgettable night and packed dance floor.

Had us on the dance floor all night!

Mike was and incredible DJ at our wedding! He was super personable, knowledgeable and worked really hard to get to know our vibe and taste over a few phone calls. He had the best playlist and amazing energy! Our dance floor was rocking all night long - he even did a Soul Train line for us which everyone thought was so fun. We loved Mike and if you’re looking for a DJ, he is your guy.

Mike is fantastic to work with! He is incredibly communicative, listens to what the bride and groom actually wants, and most importantly - keeps the dance floor packed! Mike DJ'ed my sister's wedding a couple of years ago and without question knew that we wanted to work with him again. He makes the day go smoothly and comes prepared with everything needed for the ceremony + reception. He also puts the bride and groom at the center of attention - he does a really good job of making sure that it stays our day and what we want. Would absolutely recommend Mike to anyone!

Highly recommend!

Mike was a spectacular DJ! He was extremely communicative, helpful, and professional leading up to our wedding. The music during the wedding was perfect. Beautiful music during cocktails and dinner, and fun music for dancing that got everyone on their feet. Our dance floor was full all night long with folks of all ages singing, dancing, and having a blast. He had really fun transitions between songs as well. He had a real talent for reading the room. Mike was also great at announcements and guiding guests through the night. We would highly recommend hiring Mike for your wedding!

DJ Mike is great!

DJ Mike just did my wedding a few weeks ago and he was great! He also did my sisters wedding and friends wedding in the past and he’s still got it! First, he did our ceremony which was great with beautiful classical music. I also enjoyed the music he played for he cocktail hour and dinner. It was so classy! During the dancing portion, he played all the songs I asked for on the pre-submitted list and really catered to the crowd which was mostly people in their mid-30s and 40s. He kept the evening going smoothly too. The uplighting he provided in the venue was also stunning! It really elevated the space and made it extra elegant for us. We recommend Mike!

Simply Amazing, and Highly Recommend

We hired Mike for our wedding in Haymarket, VA. It was a fantastic experience working with him from start to finish. After an initial phone call, we knew that Mike was the perfect person to DJ our wedding and act as MC for the night. His professionalism came across right away, but also a great attitude that makes him such a pleasure to work with. Mike was incredibly responsive to our emails, which put our minds at ease early on in the process. On our wedding night, Mike handled everything expertly and kept the night on schedule. The music played got everyone off their feet and on the dance floor, which was very important to us. The music itself was of course great, but the mixes and transitions stood out in a very good way - it kept the energy up throughout the entire night! I distinctly remember the look on several of our guests' faces as the transitions happened, and the dance floor went crazy. Moments like these are just a piece of what Mike contributes to making the night so special and memorable. We highly recommend Mike to anyone looking for a DJ for your event!

We danced ALL night!

The DJ was one of the most important venders to me. Mike was just great! I interviewed more DJs than any other venders. He wanted the autonomy to read the dance floor which I was a little nervous about but he was so right. Our dance floor was packed all night! If he noticed a song wasn't a hit he changed it quickly. The music was great with lots of variety. Mike himself was also polite, professional, and wonderful to work with. I highly recommend!

Simply awesome!

Mike is awesome! He takes the time to figure out what we as a couple wanted for our music and executed beautifully. I only wish we had more time to dance and enjoy the music at our wedding. Mike had a tough task ahead of him at our wedding as we had a World Series viewing party behind our venue and the bulk of guests were in and out of the reception space all evening. Regardless he took it in stride and made the night memorable and fun. Mike also is very detail oriented and punctual and will keep your event moving according to your timeline with ease! No need to stress if working with Mike. Thank you, Mike!!

Dancing all night long!

Mike was one of the last wedding vendors we booked, and after reading his glowing reviews online, he seemed like “the guy.” We couldn’t have been more right! If I could give Mike 6 stars on this site, I would. If you live in the Northern VA/D.C./MD area, and you don’t hire Mike to be your DJ, you are making a huge mistake!

Mike met with us a few weeks before the wedding to talk through logistics of the evening and through some of our “do not play” song requests. We were at first skeptical, because Mike does not take song requests (He will take about 10 requests if there are songs you have to hear at your wedding/event). We decided to trust Mike and not give him any requests. We let him do his thing. I cannot emphasize enough that our dance floor NEVER had a dull moment. Mike read the room and played songs that he knew our guests would dance to.

Mike played song after song after song. There was never a break between songs – one song flowed seamlessly into the next! He didn’t interrupt the music with unnecessary announcements – you never even noticed he was there throughout the dance portion of the evening! I overheard guests while they danced, saying: “I have to go to the bathroom, but I just can’t miss the next song!” Forget the photobooths, and just hire Mike to keep your guests dancing all night long! The multi-color/disco uplighting lit up and changed to the music, adding to the fun. When he turned that on, our guests literally gasped. My maid of honour had a lot of guests telling her how amazing the DJ was!

Mike was easy to work with the whole way through. He always let us know when he received our payments, and answered e-mails the same day I sent them. I wish every wedding I went to would hire Mike, because then I know it would be a blast! Guests told us it was one of (if not the most fun) weddings they have ever been to. I know a huge part of this was thanks to Mike!

Amazing experience

From our first phone call, Mike was amazing to work with. He was impressively responsive, and truly helped shape our day-of timeline with his expertise. He gave us advice on what event would work at what point in the night, and everything went off without a hitch. We could tell he takes a lot of pride in his work, and he took special care to make sure everything from our ceremony music to name pronunciations for intros were perfect. From the get-go, we were confident in his experience and ability to read a crowd and apart from our "special songs" we gave him pretty much free reign with our playlist. The dance floor was packed all night and everyone stuck around until the very end! We've received so many compliments on Mike and are so happy we hired him for our wedding!

Mike was everything we could have hoped for!

Like most couples, we felt entirely overwhelmed by the prospect of choosing our vendors – But Mike made our DJ decision easy! We initially loved that he had the ability to provide music and mics for an outdoor ceremony, but from our first phone call with Mike, we could tell that he was well-organized and detail oriented in a way that made us feel really well-supported and more comfortable with the planning process. Moving forward, Mike spoke with us by phone, through email, and even organized a meet-up in person in order to lock down and discuss more details about the wedding to help the entire event go smoothly. He was incredibly responsive, helpful, and provided guidance as questions came up along the way. Our venue was very rural and many of our plans were weather-contingent, but Mike was an absolute pro and his extensive experience with providing wedding DJ services helped us create manageable plans to cover all of our options.

From the ceremony (which did get to be outdoors!) to the reception, Mike helped everything go perfectly. So many of our guests have contacted us to tell us how much they specifically enjoyed the music and dancing – From the first to the last song, our dance floor was absolutely packed! Wedding planning often feels like a team sport, and Mike is definitely someone you want on your roster - We wholeheartedly recommend Mike to all couples planning their own exciting day!

Mike is the best DJ in the business!

Mike is the absolute best!! We couldn't have asked for a more personal, fun, and knowledgeable DJ for our wedding. He has been in the business for over a decade and you can certainly tell-he exuded professionalism from our first encounter with him. He took the time out to call us when we first expressed interest, he met with us in person less than 2 months before our wedding to go over song choices, bridal party names, order of ceremony, etc. He even took the time out to learn the phonetic spelling of certain last names which I think just goes above and beyond in his attention to detail. Finally-we felt like we could really trust him with his music selections. We honestly had very few songs selected and just let him run the show and it was the BEST.PARTY.EVER!! He never the music break, everything flowed perfectly, there were no awkward pauses and he had great suggestions for us in the planning process. The uplighting services he provides are a huge plus too- if you're thinking of hiring a DJ in the DMV area, Mike is your guy!

Dj guru!

Mike did an EXCEPTIONAL job for our wedding. The entire process from the first phone call to dancing the night away at the wedding flowed so seamlessly. Mike is extremely knowledgeable, and you can tell that he has been in the business for many years. For our wedding Mike took care of the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and uplighting. I only requested a handful of songs, but my one big goal was to have everyone on the dance floor all night. Mike exceeded my expectations. He was able to read the crowd so well, and played songs that everyone could sing and dance to. His uplighting was beautiful. Looking at our wedding photos, the shades of pink for the reception are elegant while the vibrant blues and reds during the dancing kept everyone on the dance floor. All of our guests are still talking about how much fun they had dancing, and two cousins have already asked for Mike's contact for their upcoming weddings. If you want a stress free, professional, DJ guru then I would definitely go with Mike!.

Simply, WOW.

If you are searching for a phenomenal DJ that will make your wedding the most fun day possible and remembered by your guests for years to come, look no further!!! Mike is a truly fantastic DJ, so kind, and very easy to work with. He made planning a breeze (and kept us on track, as we definitely needed the extra help leading up to the day). In addition, he happily accommodated a very important addition to the music scene with a family member playing a few songs at the wedding. He coordinated that whole part seamlessly with the rest of the evening and helped my family member to plan it- above and beyond. The music at our reception was UNBELIEVABLE. Amazing service and dependability

My now husband and I cannot express how much we appreciate all the hard work and time Mike spent with us for our wedding. We had no idea how to even write out a time line for our wedding day, but that didn't phase Mike one bit. He helped us from picking out songs for the cake cutting to making a list for our ceremony order to planning out our time line. Our wedding was Harry Potter themed and Mike did such a great job using music from the movies for our ceremony and entrance for the reception hall. The music Mike played during dinner was so nice and relaxing and I even had guests complimenting his choices. Once the dinner was over the dancing began. He started out with an easy dance for the first two songs, but I asked him to kick it up a notch and the party didn't stop till the venue closed for the evening. Everyone was on the dance floor having an amazing time the whole night. Our wedding was a few weeks ago and I still have friends and family telling me how much fun they had dancing all night. Thank you so much for making our big day such a success and filled with so many great memories.

We are in awe of Mike's ability to control the venue, and read the room! He was able to bring the entire reception to the dance floor and keep them there for 3 hours! Mike met with us a month before and talked through his plan. He was able to suggest where the DJ booth should be set up and answer all questions we had. We would highly suggest that you let him choose the music! As stated, he kept the dance floor going continuously for 3 hours without any suggestions from us. He can just read the room and know what to play! We still get compliments about how much fun the wedding was, especially the music and dancing. If given the chance, you should definitely book Mike for your next event. I could not say enough great things about him!

Would absolutely recommend Mike as your wedding DJ with zero reservations. Mike was our DJ for our Carnegie Science wedding in June of 2018, and one of the best vendors we had the pleasure of working with. He was kind, professional, and quick to respond throughout the ENTIRE process. He played perfect music during our seated dinner, and kept the party fun and upbeat during dancing. Everything went off perfectly with Mike, from the introductions, the first dance, the toasts during dinner, and an incredibly fun dance party. We cannot recommend him highly enough.

Mike was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. To begin, he was so easy to work with and made picking songs and scheduling the wedding so easy. My husband and I are not great at picking out music, especially the kind that others would want to listen to (Punk and Indie are definitely not for a wedding!) and Mike helped so much. He played us multiple songs and great versions of the songs for the ceremony and the reception. He took some of the music we really like are worked it great into the dinner then did his thing during the dancing, while still respecting my desire to not have 2010 and later top hits that I despise from the radio. He really listened to everything I wanted and made it an amazing night. Many of our friends told us during and days after the wedding how awesome of a DJ Mike was. He got people on the dance floor who would NEVER have danced. The uplighting was also incredible. He stuck to blues and greens (the colors of our wedding) during dinner and then switched it up to move with the music which made the dancing even better. I listened to wedding wire when I found Mike, and you really should too! He's worth every penny.

Mike was a joy to work with from the beginning. You can tell he's been doing this for years and he's very professional. Everyone had fun, enjoyed themselves and danced the whole night. The lighting was beautiful, everything was timed perfectly from the ceremony to the first dance and the parent dances. Mike was fantastic in our wedding, he played music for all tastes even when our wedding was multicultural Mike had music for everybody. He is such nice nice person, kind and he replied all our questions and concerns in very short time. He makes you feel really comfortable and for me that was really important because I had many concerns about the party ( who wants a boring wedding?) And he gave me a lot of confidence and tranquility that everything would be fine and it was! He is a great dj and he did an awesome work with the uplighting and he worked very well with the other vendors. I recommend Mike 100% and I am sure you will not have any regrets!

Mike was the DJ for our wedding a few weeks ago. Mike was our first vendor and we hired him immediately after speaking to him for 10 minutes and we didn't regret it for even a second! He did an outstanding job - the music sounded great and there was great variety and flow to the music. Mike also served as emcee and provided uplighting which was also superb. More than anything, Mike is a truly class act and his warmth, good humor and wisdom were hugely appreciated both on wedding day and before. Mike has hundreds of good reviews and for good reason. Mike came recommended to us from a couple of friends and was the 2nd DJ we "interviewed." After meeting with him, we immediately knew we had our DJ. He was unbelievably friendly and his confidence in his own abilities was incredibly reassuring.
As the wedding drew closer, we gave Mike a list of songs that we knew we wanted to hear during the reception. The rest we left up to him based on his experience. I highly advise you to do this too. Mike is the consummate professional and knows what he's doing up there. Let Mike do what he does best and you will have your party of a lifetime. At the time of writing this review, we are over a week removed from our wedding and I'm still receiving texts from family, friends, and even our other vendors (!) commenting on what a fun party our wedding was and I have to give credit to Mike for setting the tone!
Hiring Mike will be the best decision you make and I guarantee there are no better DJ's out there! I would hire Mike again in a heartbeat and will be recommending him to all of my friends in the future.

Mike was our DJ for our October wedding in Alexandria, VA. If you want a party, Mike Blaufeld is your guy! He knows how to keep people on the dance floor without the cheesy antics of most wedding DJs. We had the perfect mix of classics with today's hits to keep people dancing until the last song. We also used his uplighting service which completely transformed the ballroom space into a beautiful romantic setting. Highly recommend him without any hesitation!

Mike was awesome! He deeply cares about his work, and he made sure to make the music at our wedding just what we asked for. He met with us in person and over the phone a few times beforehand to go over any questions, give recommendations, and make sure we understood the flow of the evening. He really knows how to read the crowd, too. He knew just what to play based on what was going on in the room. We had excellent peace of mind going into the wedding that we had absolutely nothing to worry about with DJ Mike Blaufeld. He is extremely professional and did an excellent job with our reception introductions, emceeing, and music selection throughout the reception.

Mike was the best! Everyone at our wedding had a great time and he kept the dance floor packed all night. Even my Grandma danced for most of the night. He had great mixes of all of your favorite songs, was accommodating when we asked him to play some cultural songs and required little to no guidance. We gave him a general idea of what we wanted and told him to play what he thought would be best, and we were not disappointed. I would highly recommend Mike!

Let me start this review by saying Mike is excellent at what he does! We had such an incredible time at our wedding and loved every song Mike chose. We were on the dance floor from start to finish, which is exactly what we wanted! I booked Mike after an hour long phone call just discussing his DJ methods. A year later, we met with Mike and he was more knowledgeable than I could have imagined. He helped us with our timeline & organization, was willing to work with our hopes to have a fun & relaxed event versus your more traditional event, & really went above and beyond to make us feel like he had everything ready for our big day - and he most certainly did! I will continue to recommend Mike to family & friends!

When we got engaged, the first vendor we booked was the DJ! Having our wedding be a party and everyone up and dancing during the reception was super important to us! Mike was absolutely phenomenal in every way. He was the most responsive of all our vendors (he answered emails within seconds sometimes!) and was very caring, patient, and enthusiastic throughout the whole planning process. He gave great suggestions for things I would have never thought of, like what time to fade out the parent dances and if we did or didn't need mics for the officiant and string quartet. The best part was ALL our guests were up and dancing on the dance floor! Even my 80 year old grandmother! It was more than we could have asked for and we couldn't be happier. THANK YOU Mike for over-delivering and making our wedding reception the party we dreamed it would be!!!!

You have to book with Mike. I love him he is like a part of the family now, he did my moms wedding and he also did mine. I can't even express how helpful, kind and accommodating Mike is. I knew that if i had questions or was nervous or confused about something I could call him or email him day or night and he would get back to me ASAP with the answers and calming words. Mike took so much time to sit with us and make sure we were going to get everything that we wanted on our big day and he really delivered! The night ran smoothly thanks to him and the dance floor never died because he can really read the room and know what people want and what they will enjoy hearing and dancing to!

Book him...seriously you will not regret it. I am also saying this as a truly harsh reviewer of most things.

It was truly a pleasure working with Mike. We interviewed multiple DJs before we spoke with Mike and we immediately got a good vibe from him that we really liked. In addition to liking his style as a DJ, we appreciated that he is willing to help with wedding planning as well. He gave us input on multiple iterations of our timeline and even offered to make it for us from scratch if we wanted. He’s also very organized and has a very helpful planning form that he helped us fill out. He gave us some great suggestions for our ceremony music and other key songs throughout the night since we didn’t really know where to start (first dance, cake cutting, etc). He was always very responsive to emails and was overall very easy to work with leading up to the wedding.

On the day of the wedding, he delivered just as he had described in our first meeting. The ceremony music was very good and we received multiple compliments about it. When the dance floor opened, he started with some oldies to get the older guests involved and smoothly worked his way up to newer music. He had really good transitions between songs and there was a good rhythm going from one song to the next. We’ve been to weddings where the combination of songs feels random and it definitely makes the dance floor lose energy. That was never the case with Mike as he kept the dance floor packed all night and was able to keep multiple generations happy throughout. He was really good at reading the crowd, and my parents said they really appreciated that he played music that they enjoyed dancing to. My wife and I really appreciated that he adhered to our do not play list even though I know some of my friends were trying hard to get him to play one song from it. We also appreciated that he did all the necessary announcements, but never got on the mic just for the sake of talking.

Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our experience working with Mike, and we highly recommend him!

I was referred to Mike by a friend who had gotten married and there is no doubt why he's so highly rated. From our initial contact to our wedding day on May 6th, 2017, Mike was very responsive and gave us great input. Not only did he guide us through our timeline, he was there to guide us through our wedding day (along with our planner) by giving us a quick heads up for each step throughout. The day really does go fast but he helped us cover everything that was important to us. He helped with song selections and helped me find the perfect version of the song I used for my (bridal) processional. We are a couple in our 40s with older, mostly married guests and he really tailored everything to us and our guests. He suggested we do an Anniversary Dance and days later we were still hearing how much guests enjoyed it. Our guests also mentioned how easy he was to approach and took requests. If you are looking for a dedicated DJ you can't go wrong with Mike.

Mike was an AMAZING DJ for our 3-31-17 wedding! We couldn't have asked for anyone better. One of the most nerve wrecking parts of wedding planning is picking a DJ but I promise you, if you choose Mike, you will feel nothing but confidence and happiness! My husband and I loved working with our DJ, Mike. He was very personable and easy to work with through the whole process. We first spoke on the phone about the venue and type of music that we liked. We then met in person to go over song choices and wedding details. He provided all of the mics and equipment for our ceremony and then played all of our music choices for our reception. He kept our guests dancing the whole time and we are so happy we had Mike for our wedding.

Hands down the BEST wedding DJ in the DMV. Our wedding venue, the Kimpton Morrison House, recommended him since he is familiar with the space and is so experienced. DJ Mike is the best wedding DJ out there and definitely worth every penny! He is very professional and takes pride in his trade. He made a detailed timeline and basically ran the event. Because DJ mike was organized and professional, I did not need to hire a separate wedding planner/coordinator. I had a small wedding with 55 guests and initially had a fear that my reception would be boring or that people would not dance. EVERYBODY danced.. the whole night. Ermahgawd- It was so much fun! We decided to get the uplighting for the ceremony and reception- it was totally worth the cost. The ceremony uplighting was soft natural light that set a classy ambiance without the need for any other pricey decorations. The uplighting for the dinner was also soft and natural (candlelight). Then once it was time for dancing, the lighting changed and it was like a night club the rest of the evening. So many of my guests said they loved the DJ and had so much fun dancing! We definitely created some unforgettable memories thanks to DJ Mike!

There's a reason DJ Mike has 5 stars--he is the best! I was looking for an independent DJ, I didn't want to go with a company and have someone randomly assigned to me. I knew from the first conversation that Mike was the perfect fit for the type of party I wanted. He was always responsive, and sat down with my fiance and I to plan out the timeline and go over the songs we wanted to hear. He did a great job of playing softer music for cocktail hour and dinner and then building up to dance music. There was never a moment where people were not dancing. He mixed in Unchained Melody, and it was so touching to see some of the older relatives dancing with their spouses like they were teenagers. Go with DJ Mike, you will not be disappointed!

Mike was absolutely wonderful to work with from start to finish. He was kind, professional, and extremely helpful during the process of planning our wedding. My fiancé and I booked Mike as the D.J. for our wedding this past July 16th. From the minute that we met with him in the summer of 2015, we knew that we'd made the perfect choice. Throughout our wedding planning, Mike was consistently the most organized and responsive of all of my vendors. No stone was left unturned in our pre-wedding meetings and he helped us to remember to discuss every possible detail related to our ceremony music, the reception timeline, and the reception music.

On the day of the wedding itself, Mike arrived and set up early, was ready to consult with our officiant and our readers, and was in the right place at the right time throughout the entire event. (It helped tremendously that he'd worked with our officiant and photographers before!) A microphone was seamlessly available whenever it was needed and he worked perfectly with my day-of coordinator to make sure that the events of the evening transitioned smoothly.

Last but certainly not least, Mike completely understood what we and our guests wanted in terms of music. He paid attention to what got people on the floor and was respectful of our Please Play and our Please Don't Play list. His expertise ensured that the evening was a complete success and a party to remember. I can't recommend him enough!

From the initial conversation with Mike, I knew he was the wedding DJ for my husband and I! From the very start, he was very efficient, responsive and gave recommendations/suggestions as needed. That was SUPER helpful and made the whole process easier and stress free. Not to mention he has a great personality and really strives to create the atmosphere that we desired on such an important day. And that he did!
We used Mike's services for both the ceremony music and reception music. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and he did a wonderful job incorporating our music choices and it really set the tone. As far as the reception went, he truly knew how to engage the crowd and kept the party going all night. He was also on top of our timeline and would approach my husband and I when it was time for the next event. That was so helpful as it was so easy to lose track of time with all the excitement.
My husband, guests and I all had a blast and will truly never forget such a special day. I could not recommend Mike's services enough!

Amazing! I was a very needy bride and he would answer every email and phone call immediately. He made me feel so ready and confident in the weeks leading up to the wedding. Mike was outstanding. Words cannot express how grateful we are to have had Mike at our wedding. We are pretty simple people and didn't want to over splurge on anything, but we knew that the the DJ can seriously make or break a wedding. After reading previous reviews and meeting with mike we felt confident in hiring him. We didn't know just how awesome he would make our wedding day. We have received countless comments on how awesome the day was with a great tribute to the DJ. Most of the night, literally everybody (4 years old to 85) were dancing on the floor. It was incredible. Not only did he help by being an incredible DJ, but he also helped to coordinate our day, came to a venue appointment with us to check out the space (which we felt was above and beyond anything we expected), and gave us great advice throughout planning. DJ Mike was worth every penny! We wanted a DJ that knows what they are doing and can read a crowd appropriately. He promised us he would keep the dance floor packed and he delivered! (We had a 5 hour reception and at no point was the dance floor empty). DJ Mike is very professional and really knows what he is doing. He kept the timeline of our reception in perfect check. The up lighting he provided at our venue and his sound system were great! Throughout all of our interactions with Mike he left us with no worries at all about what he would provide and that it would be great. He will take you through the entire reception timeline and make sure he understands what you want and how it should flow. He knows weddings well and can provide advice when you need it. We highly recommend Mike if you want to pick a DJ and not have to worry about what you will get!

Mike was the glue that held our wedding together all night long! Mike was the best choice for us - he was so organized, super friendly, and on top of everything. I met with him several times and he was in constant communication with me regarding the wedding. The night of, Mike did not only act as our DJ, he helped us with any issues we had with our venue, the staff, and the timeline. He checked in with us several times throughout the night. We felt very well taken care of. Furthermore, Mike's music mix was perfection! He played all of the songs I had requested and added in many, many more that fit with our "vision!" Mike Blaufeld was worth every penny for the DJ service he provided for my fiance's 50th birthday party. Under his skilled hands the dance floor was, literally, never empty (in a crowd that ranged from 30s-80s). Guests had nothing but compliments, and plenty of them, for Mike. What can I say about Mike Blaufeld - he is simply the BEST! DJ was probably the most challenging vendor for us to nail down. Our wedding was slightly complicated because we needed a DJ for both the outdoor ceremony and indoor reception (torpedo factory in old town) and while the locations were close, it still meant a lot of logistical coordination in getting equipment where it needed to be at the right time. Some DJs were afraid of this, others wanted to charge us an arm and a leg, and some were just unreliable when we talked to them. Then we met Mike and it all changed. He was responsive and professional from the start and gave us confidence that he could do the job and do it well. He gave us lots of suggestions for the ceremony and how to do those songs - which were really helpful. He also took time to get to know us and what type of music we wanted for the wedding reception. He totally understood our vibe and because of that, we made very few specific song requests and just let him run the show. Mike told us that we pack the dancefloor all night and boy did he deliver. After the father daughter and mother son dances, the dance floor opened and people never left. Mike got everyone dancing - from my 6 year old cousins to 95 year old relatives and everyone in between. He started with Motown and moved up to more recent hits from the last 15 years. I barely left the dance floor because I loved every song so much. We even closed night with shout (typically a song played to get people on the dance floor) because everyone was having so much fun. Picking Mike as a DJ was one of our best vendor decisions and I recommend him highly!

DJ Mike is a true professional and a class act. Mike’s experience shows when it comes to making music match our wedding and he ensured that the schedule moved along smoothly. During the planning process he made it stress-free, meeting with us to coordinate everything and providing planning sheets that made it all easy. During the wedding, he was easily able to accommodate our requests while also seamlessly keeping great dance music going. He checked in with us throughout the night in case we had any changes or requests, so we were always confident that he was on top of things. Working with him was hassle-free and his feedback about our plans led to a better wedding for our guests. We were recommended DJ Mike's services through a friend who had recently gotten married herself. It was the perfect selection. The first thing Mike promised was that his skills at sound looping and feeling the crowd's energy would ensure that he kept the party going the entire evening. And he wasn't wrong - our guests could not stop talking about the show/party Mike put on! People never stopped dancing as Mike churned out and connected hit after hit. Even the biggest sticks-in-the-mud were on their feet bustin' a move. A close friend who only sort-of likes to dance would comment, "OK, I'll take a break after this song is over." And then the next song would start and my friend would be jumping up and down yelling, "THIS SONG IS AWESOME!!!!" In short DJ Mike knows how to keep a crowd going.

On top of that, Mike is just a super personable guy who respected every single song request we had while suggesting great numbers for any other moments we needed, including cake cutting and dinner music. He's extremely organized and worked well with our wedding planner, Susan Smith. He's responsive on email and phone and was willing to travel to see our venue. In short, Mike's value and pricing cannot be beat. He is worth every penny. Could not recommend him more - YOU MUST HIRE DJ MIKE.

Mike's reviews here are all true. He was awesome, very attentive and truly seemed to care about our wedding. When we first met with Mike, he told us he did this for a living and promised if we went with him he would make it a night to remember. He far surpassed our expectations. It was a killer dance party, Mike read the crowd perfectly. He checked on us several times throughout the day, but was never annoying about it. He handled last minute changes and minor incidents like a pro. I actually felt bad I wasn't able to high five him before my bride and I ran off to our limo. If you hire Mike as your DJ you will not be disappointed. I'm sad the party is over!

Mike was the DJ for our wedding back in May and we must say he was phenomenal! We had a complex playlist with a mix of obscure indie rock, old school classics and modern day hits. Mike took the time to meet with us, understand what we wanted, and deliver an amazing wedding day experience. We are still receiving complements from our guests as to how great the mix was. And it was a real mix! Songs blended seamlessly into one another, and kept pace with the mood of the crowd. We had one guest exclaim “You hired a REAL DJ!” There were none of those tacky, gimmicky wedding songs (YMCA, Chicken Dance) and if we had a request he was able to accommodate. Our set up was not simple. We had the ceremony and reception outdoors and dinner and dancing indoors. Mike provided great equipment (speakers, mics and up-lights) and the sound quality was excellent. If you can, I would highly recommend the up-lighting. It really brought a nice touch of fun and elegance to the atmosphere. Bottom line: Mike is a true professional and a pleasure to work with. If you hire him you and your quests are going to have an amazing time. Thanks Mike for helping to make our wedding the best day of our lives!

Mike was so great to work with. Professional, prompt, engaging, and FUN (which was so important to us!) Mike did the music for our ceremony and reception as well as provided up-lighting. We provided all of our songs in advance and Mike was able to capture every song we requested. He was extremely responsive via email and phone and was willing to meet in person whenever we requested. During our wedding he kept the dance floor packed all night. He was able to transition songs without stopping which, in our opinion, kept people on the dance floor longer since there were no awkward pauses. Everyone at our reception commented on what a great DJ we booked, and we have to agree.

As for the uplighting, the room looked amazing.

Mike was the DJ for our daughter's wedding on 22 Aug 2015. We have nothing but superlatives to say about Mike Blaufeld. Mike was professional, organized, prepared and a pleasure to work with. He accommodated our music requests up to the last minute. The wedding was a great party in large thanks to Mike's selection of music. Although we gave him the types of music we liked, he was able to expertly read the crowd and adapt to their likes. We didn't need tables or chairs, because everyone was on the dance floor all night. Mike Blaufeld was referred to us as a preferred vendor from the event director at our wedding reception venue. We contracted with Mike several months in advance of our wedding on 08/01/15. Mike spent a considerable amount of time answering many questions about his boutique DJ services. We hired Mike because he is an independent DJ, and we knew from our first contact we were dealing with a professional DJ service. Mike met with the bride and groom a couple of times before the wedding day to be certain he captured all the music they wanted for their wedding reception. The dance floor was packed the entire evening. Several guests commented on the great choice of music Mike selected. Mike's quality of service is top-notch. We highly recommend his services for a wedding reception or any other event that DJ services would be needed. Our hats are off to Mike for providing great music during the entire wedding reception.

We were struck when we first were looking for a DJ by how many positive reviews Mike has on so many wedding websites. Those reviews are well deserved! Mike is such a professional. When you talk to him, he clearly takes so much pride in his work. We are convinced that nobody will work harder to make your wedding special and FUN. One thing that Mike prides himself on is being able to "read the room" when it's time to dance. While we did have specific songs we wanted for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and first dance, we completely trusted him to choose the music to get our guests out on the dance floor and keep them there. He absolutely delivered. Guests who were usually reluctant to dance at all ended up dancing the entire night. Our advice is that if you hire Mike (which you definitely should), trust him to know what music to play when it is time to dance. You will not be disappointed.

I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed working with Mike. From the first time we spoke at my consultation call he made me feel at ease and that using him for our wedding was the right choice. He was very personable yet professional. He is so responsive and answered any and all of my questions within hours of me firing off an email. He went above and beyond by helping me with my wedding day timeline. Most importantly he did a great job at our wedding! Mike was an amazing DJ. His communication was unlike any vendor I've worked with - always prompt with responses and provided lots of great detail and always answered my questions. At the wedding, he was early and looked professional. The sound was perfect - our guests could hear everything during the ceremony, and during the reception, the music wasn't too loud, which sadly I've experienced at a few weddings. The music was GREAT. The mixes were really fun, and the music was upbeat when it needed to be, and slower when our guests needed a break. The music really "made" the evening, and we would recommend Mike to anyone looking for an awesome DJ for their event!

When looking for DJ's we wanted someone we could work with as we did not have that strong an opinion on what music should be played only that we wanted a good mix for our guests. From our first phone conversation with Mike, we were confident that he would be perfect as our DJ. That feeling only got stronger when we met him in person! He understood what we wanted and what we didn’t want. He asked questions about details we hadn’t thought of and developed a perfect timeline. The other vendors at our reception all mentioned how great it was to work with him. Most importantly, the music was fantastic and the dance floor was never empty. It is obvious that Mike knows all types of music and he was masterful at using different types at different times (cocktail hour, dinner hour, early dancing, late night dancing). Short story: In a venue broken up by different rooms (a mansion), a crowd of very different cultures, a wide span of ages, and musical tastes- Mike had everyone dancing all night!!

Mike was a pleasure to work with from our very first consultation. My husband and I didn't have the largest budget to work with but after having been to several weddings with sub-par DJs we knew that a great DJ can make or break your wedding. With Mike, you get absolutely what you pay for and more.

A month before the wedding we met with Mike to go over the day of schedule and song requests. Mike's attention to detail is incredible. He totally helped us revamp our schedule with his knowledge of how a wedding should flow when it came to music, food, and dancing. We were working with an excellent planner so when Mike told us he could help be a "day of coordinator/MC", I didn't completely think it was necessary- we were wrong! He was spot on with every detail we requested when it came to when we wanted specific events to happen and we were able to enjoy our wedding without worrying about some detail being overlooked or feeling rushed through the events. He was discrete, reads his audience well and is incredibly professional.

My mom had a special request that we play Latin music during the reception and cocktail hour. I was a little worried because I knew Mike doesn't typically play this kind of music. He was totally open to this idea and welcomed our requests. We sent him our song requests and he did an awesome job incorporating the Latin music into our wedding.

I can't imagine having gone with anyone else! Mike is so talented at his craft but is also the kind of person and energy you want to have around you and your guests on such an important day.

Mike was exactly what we were looking for in a DJ. Flexible, easy to work with and open enough for some off the wall requests. Mike was professional from day one and worked very closely with us over the course of the planning stages to ensure that he was providing everything we needed.
During the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, Mike perfectly balanced engaging the crowd and getting everyone on the dance floor while ensuring that we hit all of our scheduled marks. Speeches, cake cutting, first dance, etc., all were handled seamlessly. We rented uplights from him as well, and he was full of helpful suggestions regarding setup, the number of lights and where to best place them. It added the perfect finishing touch for the reception.
Mike is a great guy and a great asset for any couple looking to go with a DJ for their wedding day.

Our favorite vendor to work with of everyone we hired for our wedding! Extremely professional and on top of everything that needs to be done. Very easy to work with and very flexible since we have a very odd work schedules. He was able to get obscure songs that we requested. He knew exactly what we wanted and from the moment the music started people did not leave the dance floor, it was packed the entire time. People even started dancing before dinner was done and the speeches were started. We had guests even say that they normally don't like to dance at all and they were up the whole night. We had guests of all ages and every single guest we talked to commented on how great our DJ was and that he played music for every age group. Of all the weddings Ive ever been to he was by far the best. He wasn't one of those DJs that talk too much on the mic or get annoying. Our wedding was great but he made it better. We have already had friends at our wedding who are getting married ask who he was so they could use him too. Hands down the best vendor we hired (and we did not have any vendors we didn't like). I can not say enough about how amazing he was. Just let him do his thing and don't give him too many "must plays" because he definitely knows how to feel out the crowd and play what is going to keep them on the dance floor. My husband was a DJ and he absolutely loved him. Hire Mike!

Mike provided both DJ and up-light services for my wedding-he did an amazing job with both! Mike gave my fiancé and I great advice on how the reception music should flow and really listened to us and our preferences. Our guests were on the dance floor the entire night-Mike definitely knows how to keep a party going! He also has a large selection of wireless up-lights and the ones we chose (amber) were beautiful. Mike was absolutely amazing and had the dance floor packed the whole night! We really can't thank him enough and have had multiple people come up to us since saying it was the best dance party they'd been to in a while! He was in charge of our ceremony and reception music, and did both flawlessly. He has the highest quality sound equipment for indoors and outdoors, and his professionalism is superb. He was a great help in keeping the night moving smoothly, meeting with us various times in the weeks prior to nail down a timeline.

Coming from a hispanic family, we were a little worried about the fact that half of the music we wanted Mike to play would be things he had never heard before. We sent him a CD with spanish music and hoped for the best. Mike however blew us away. He has an ear for music, no matter the type, and mixed it beautifully. In fact, what was supposed to be 30 minutes of latin music quickly turned into multiple hours, as Mike mixed spanish songs with non-spanish ones to get everybody dancing continuously.

Again I can't stress enough how lucky we were to have Mike, both for his DJ abilities but also as a "day-of" coordinator, keeping the timeline running smoothly.

Mike was by far the best part of my wedding :) From our very first meeting, it was clear he was going to be an amazing DJ. He was prompt, friendly, personable and flexible to meet our every needs. He came up with a great night-of timeline that I also gave to the wedding planner and photography so everyone was on the same page. It was so helpful to be able to have the night broken down and everyone knew what was coming up next. Mike took care of finding the best man and maid of honor for their speeches. I didn't have to do a thing and it was wonderful. Mike did an amazing job incorporating older music for my family members who are older and then as the night went on he switched to modern top 40 music to keep the younger crowd happy and on the dance floor. The floor was packed the whole night and guests raved about the music. I have been told multiple times by guests that this was the "funnest wedding they had ever been too" and I owe a lot of that to Mike. We could not have been happier with Mike's work as our DJ. He really went out of his way to make sure everything went smoothly, including offering to drive out to our venue, more than an hour outside DC, just to check it out beforehand. He did a great job with his music selections and kept the dance floor full for more the three hours straight. Mike does a great job transitioning between songs so there are no breaks in the music. All of his equipment was top of the line and he had backups on hand just in case. He's very nice and was a pleasure to work with.

August 1, 2014 wedding -- The one thing I remember clearly from my wedding is looking back at the tables and seeing almost NO ONE sitting. Why? Because Mike had everyone on their feet all night! One of my requests for my wedding was that I wanted everyone to be dancing the whole time and Mike definitely made that happen for us. What a phenomenal DJ! The music was on point all night. I loved that he made sure to read the crowd for each song. His transitions into new songs was amazing. My friends and family only had good things to say about the music. He played everything that my husband and I requested and even took a few requests from my friends. He was a great help in picking songs as well -- from our processional to our last song choice. He even set up an itinerary for us to follow... thank goodness! He kept the night flowing and on schedule!

I would love to use Mike again if I ever have another event! I loved every single second!!! I highly recommend him to all!

After meeting with Mike Blaufeld for the first time, my then-fiancee' and I needed about 5 minutes to decide that we wanted to book him. Mike made us feel like he, as an experienced pro, would take care of everything - that he would gauge the mood of the crowd and make sure that everyone, young and old, had a good time. The DJ has full control over how fun your wedding can be and Mike was hands down the BEST DJ we could've asked for! He was so efficient and detail oriented and replied back to every email promptly. Some vendors take forever to write back which can be frustrating but not Mike- he kept track of everything so we didn't have to worry. He even called to check in the week before the wedding to review everything we discussed and confirm name pronunciations. He helped us pick ceremony songs and came up with an amazing playlist for our 80's cocktail hour. Everyone at our wedding said the music was fantastic and the party was the best they'd been to!!!! Our dance floor was NEVER EMPTY, and he knew exactly when to transition a song and could tell what our crowd wanted to hear. The best thing about Mike was he loves what he does and is beyond amazing at his job. Also, he spent so much time making sure we had the correct songs picked and the timeline accurate. He was so on point with when to fade out a song because we were so nervous about our special dances. We had exceptionally high standards for our DJ and Mike exceeded them!! I cannot say enough AMAZING things about DJ Mike!! He had the entire dance floor PACKED the whole night long! My dad came up to me on the 4th song after the dance floor opened and told me "This guy is amazing!" He 110% read my crowd perfectly and knew exactly what to play to get them dancing and then keep them dancing all night long. I loved how he mixed songs together so there was never a break in the music. Mike was so easy to work with - we met him in person as well as went back and forth over email, and then had a follow-up call the last week before the wedding. I truly appreciated his attention to detail with things like the bridal party entrance, the first dance song, and the music during dinner. Mike is the best of the best! From the initial engagement to bringing down the house at our wedding venue, we can't thank him enough for a job well done. Our initial conversation with Mike made us feel like we were in good hands, as we worked through a schedule and drew upon his prior wedding experience. In some ways when you hire Mike, you're also hiring a wedding planner because he makes everything seemless the day of. He coordinated very well with our other vendors, was very appropriate in the introductions and spoken comments during our dinner and toasts. Where the real value came from, though, was during our open dancing. Mike has a real talent for reading the crowd, playing appropriate music, and making sure everyone gets on the dance floor from young to old. Music was always our big priority for our wedding and so Mike was the first vendor we booked. From our first meeting, he put us at ease with his ability to handle the difficult layout of our venue (several small dining rooms versus one big room) and his confidence in being able to keep all generations on the dance floor all night. Mike did not disappoint! We met with him several times leading up to the wedding, including a walk through at our venue so that he could better understand the tricky layout. In every meeting, he took notes and was very attentive and thorough to our specific wants. He even provided us with professional forms that help with the planning process and ensure we are on the same page with him. He is very experienced and often serves as the emcee to keep events on time if there is not an on-site planner or coordinator. We had a day of coordinator but we would have felt comfortable having just Mike keep the evening running smoothly and on time.

We also trusted him a great deal and did not restrict or over-prescribe the music selection. I am happy to report that our wedding reception was the most fun never-ending dance party I have ever been to! Mike handled our ceremony music and amplified us for the exchange of vows, he handled the toasts, dinner music and reception dance music and all four events were in four separate parts of the venue! Guests still talk about how great our DJ was and our video footage proves his skill as we have every generation on the dance floor consistently. He kept our wedding night lively and crazy fun. We cannot recommend him enough to future couples.

We told Mike at the beginning of our time working together that for us, the music was the most important part of the night, that it needed to be perfect, and he delivered and then some.
From our first meeting with Mike to the day of the wedding, he was completely committed to ensuring that the night went exactly the way we wanted it to go. He helped us map out a timeline for the ceremony and reception and he sent us song samples based on our taste in music to help us narrow down the songs we wanted played for the key moments in the evening. Mike answered every email and every phone call very quickly, and more often then not the communication was prompted by him to make sure everything was on track. Even though he had other events taking place leading up to our wedding, we felt we had his complete attention. The planning leading up to the wedding was made very easy because of his flexibility and his suggestions based on the experience he has with weddings.
The day of the wedding, Mike was flawless. Everything was set up well in advance. He played the music at the ceremony for us, and the timing was perfect.
The reception was amazing. Mike played his own mixes based on the style of music we liked and based on the energy of the crowd. Friends and relatives who we have never seen dance before were on the dance floor. There were several songs in which not a single person was sitting down. Our guests commented on the positive energy of the night, and how that was in large part based on the music that was played and the amount of fun being had on the dance floor. The way that he blends from one song to the next is phenomenal. After the event, friends were saying that we had won the "best music at a wedding award". That was all due to Mike!!!
He kept the night flowing for us. We didn't have to worry about a thing. When it was time to dance he came and got us. When it was time for a speech he arranged it. I cannot say enough about how wonderful he was!

Mike Blaufield is the reason why our wedding reception was such a roaring success. If the amazing time *we* had at our reception hadn't been enough to convince us, the dozens of guests who couldn't stop talking about him afterward would have clenched it.

Our one goal for our wedding reception was to keep the dance floor hopping. My wife and I had been to enough weddings to realize that this was often a challenge.

Our first meeting with Mike was a breath of fresh air and we quickly realized this wasn't his first time to the rodeo. First he suggested a schedule of reception events that worked great for our venue and took a lot planning off our plate. Next, he presented his philosophy on the dancing: that a DJ has to craft the night to the pulse of the crowd. That the DJ will know as the mood of the floor changes and how to keep people dancing and having a great time.

This is EXACTLY what my wife and I wanted to hear. Any DJ can walk in with an iPod playlist. After requesting a couple "must have" songs for Mike to blend in, we went with our gut feeling which was, "let's let Mike do what Mike does."

True to form, Mike completely adapted to the dance environment. There was so much dancing that sometimes it would start getting a little too hot in the room. Mike then threw in just enough slow songs to give people a chance to cool down so they would jump up for the next irresistible song. Some of our guests noted how solid the song selection was, there weren't so many hits that it was cheesy but almost every song was a *great* song that you wanted to dance to.

Choosing Mike was the best decision we could have made! Every comment that we have received from friends and family has been how the reception was an absolute blast! My father summed it up best, "God damn, that guy is an artist!"

We can not recommend Mike Blaufield enough! He's a great guy, with years of experience, that will throw you one hell of a party!

Mike provided fabulous services and thoughtful preparation and reassurances along the way, for our daughter's wedding last weekend. He was very accessible - prompt replies to phone and emails, and was very courteous no matter how many times we contacted him. He helped us keep a flash mob dance a secret from the bride and groom and it came off perfectly. He was flexible all along, and took into account all of our requests. At the reception he did a great job of adjusting when we got behind schedule and came up with a good plan that got the audience plenty of good dance time. He read the crowd and adjusted his music - mix of older and newer; faster and slower - kept the dance floor full and hopping. We had a blast! Many of our guests specifically commented on what a great job Mike did.

Mike is PHENOMENAL!! From start to finish, Mike is a true professional and a dream to work with. Leading up to the big day, he was incredibly proactive in setting up the timeline for our reception, helping us pick out songs, and making sure everything from versions of songs to pronunciations were correct. On the actual day, he took things to the next level, creating the perfect atmosphere at our reception. I started hearing how great he was during the cocktail reception and the rave reviews are still coming more than two weeks after the wedding. He was flexible with some VERY last minute changes and kept the party going until the very last minute. Everyone, from our 2 years old niece and nephew to our 75 years old uncle, had a GREAT time.

My biggest piece of advice to couples is to just let him do his job without giving him a long list of required songs. He is an expert at reading the crowd and knows exactly what is needed to get people up and dancing!

Mike is fantastic and we would highly recommend him. Mike DJ'd our wedding; however, his work extended far beyond the wedding day. We met with Mike several times leading up to our day to discuss timelines, music and event logistics. Mike is a consummate professional with a great personality, which does not overshadow the event. He provided us a timeline for our entire reception, which was extremely helpful and became our play book for the day.

When our event ran long, Mike was generous with his time and stuck around ensuring all our guests had a fantastic time. You cannot go wrong with Mike and his participation and assistance resulted in a fantastic wedding we'll never forget. Hire Mike, you cannot go wrong.

DJ Mike had our dance floor packed the entire night of our wedding. He has an uncanny ability to read the crowd and know exactly what they want to hear/dance to. He is everything you could want in a wedding dj—and from the first time we met him, we knew he was the perfect DJ for us! In the months/weeks leading up to the wedding, Mike was organized, responsive and excited—and in the final few weeks, he helped us craft a very detailed timeline of the day/night.

Friends and family members can’t stop raving about how wonderful Mike was; and a few of our friends have even asked for his contact info for upcoming weddings. He exceeded all of our (very high) expectations and we can’t recommend him highly enough!

Mike is a fantastic DJ. My husband and I feel so lucky that we got Mike to DJ our wedding. We didn't use a full-time wedding coordinator and were nervous when we started to research DJs. We have been to weddings when the music was lame and no one was in the mood to dance. We are so afraid that our wedding would turn out that way.

It was the total opposite. People danced and had a great time. We had multiple people come up to us and tell us how they thought our DJ did a great job.

Mike made our reception great in so many ways. Our wedding was complicated because we had three different rooms (three large rooms) where we needed music and two rooms where we needed a microphone. Mike took care of everything at no extra charge. Everything sounded great. He has top-notch speakers.

At the very last minute, my dad changed our timeline and wanted an elder in our family to speak at the reception and Mike made the transition smooth. He walked us through the entire process and even found a French song my dad requested. We couldn't find the song but Mike found it on YouTube and recorded the song so it played during our dinner. It was amazing.

He bent over backwards to accommodate us and most importantly, he made our wedding fun. I would absolutely recommend Mike to any bride and groom who are looking for a good DJ in the DC area.

Mike was fantastic!!!! Extremely professional and responsive. From the first time we met him, we could sense that he was passionate about his work. We have received so many compliments about DJ Mike from family and friends. He kept the entire dance floor packed all night, and everyone had a great time at our wedding. The key is that he reads the crowd, there was never a dull moment. Mike not only played great music, he also acted as a coordinator. He proactively reviewed our event order weeks prior to the wedding, made recommendations based on his experience, and followed through on the wedding day to keep everything on point. I also really appreciate his flexibility to extend the party by a few songs in order to give me more time to change into another dress before the grand exit. He truly provided first class service and definitely made our night special and memorable! Needless to say that many of our guests didn't want the night to end...

DJ Mike is everything you want in a DJ - professional, not cheesy, and (most importantly) he plays the music you and your guests want to hear. Mike had our dance floor packed from 8-11pm, and the guests weren't ready to leave! He does a great job of understanding what songs are going to keep people on the dance floor, while also mixing in a couple of slow songs. He also tastefully mixes in the songs that every generation will want to dance to. I am self-proclaimed DJ diva. DJs usually always dissapoint or annoy me. Not the case with Mike. I really can't say enough good things about him. If you want an unforgettable wedding reception, book Mike!

We thought that Mike did a great job! He was extremely professional throughout the entire process and made us feel completely confident that he had everything under control. As far as his actual DJ skills go he actually had to ask people to sit down to eat dinner and he kept the dance floor packed the entire night. Everyone no matter what their age had a great time and enjoyed themselves at our wedding!!! We would definitely recommend Mike for any wedding.

After meeting with Mike, I instantly told my fiance (now husband) we had to book him ASAP. I was 100% confident that he would be an amazing DJ. He had such a great personality! Closer to the wedding, we met with Mike and continued to exchange e-mails frequently. He was extremely attentive to details (which I loved! made my job a lot easier).

We sat with him and chatted over the phone and went over phonetically, the names of our family and friends that would be introduced. The job was not easy (there were about 30 names that we went over) but he did such a great job! He also helped guide us with our wedding ceremony timeline. My fiance and I were clueless. We never realized how much thought and planning went into a timeline. However, Mike guided us and gave us suggestions on how to make things flow accordingly. Mike was also very accommodating to all our requests and last minute requests (there were so many!). I can't begin to tell your how many times we changed our song selections! He never complained and always made sure he had the correct artists and song title. He also never missed an e-mail and always responded in a timely manner.

On the day of the wedding, Mike exceeded all our expectations!

Not only were we impressed, but family members couldn't stop telling us how great our DJ was.

We booked DJ Mike for our wedding after I attended a wedding he did in 2009, where he packed the dance floor the entire night. Even after experiencing first hand what a great DJ he was, DJ Mike exceeded our expectations (which were high to begin with!). He was always prompt, professional and very helpful in his responses to our emails over the course of the year. As the wedding got closer, DJ Mike sat down with my (now) husband and I to put together a timeline for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, which turned out to be the most important document in planning for our wedding with our other vendors. I can not emphasize enough how helpful that session and timeline were for us. Mike was in charge of our ceremony music as well as our cocktail hour and reception, and everything was just fantastic. The ceremony music was well timed and the perfect volume. He provided a lapel microphone for our pastor, and a handheld microphone (on a stand) for our reader. Everything concerning the ceremony and cocktail hour was flawless. During the reception, Mike was on hand to coach our wedding party through the announcements and different speeches/toasts. Once it was time to start the party, Mike let loose and that dance floor was never empty. He had the perfect mix of classic favorites and new music. When it came time to cut the cake, our guests didn't even budge from the dance floor, which was amazing. That night would have been memorable for us anyway, but with DJ Mike in charge of the party, it was memorable for our guests too! We've gotten a lot of compliments from our friends and family about what an amazing party our reception was. DJ Mike is easily one of the best (if not THE best) in this business, and we would absolutely recommend him without any hesitation.

Mike was amazing! We originally decided to meet with Mike because of his highly-rated reviews online. When we met, we immediately felt confident that he would do a great job-- he is super attentive, responds so quickly to emails, and is very accommodating to any requests or issues that come up. For us, we knew that having a great party / dancing non-stop was really important and trusted Mike to make sure that happened...and you better believe, it did! We had relatives complimenting us on Mike throughout the night, including someone saying they wished they could get his playlist! The dancing went so smoothly-- there were no awkward times at all-- continuous dancing, great flow, high energy. It was exactly what we wanted. So if you want someone who is experienced and knows how to keep the night flowing with people having a great time, Mike is for you. Worth every penny. Thanks Mike, we couldn't have asked for a better reception-- it was INCREDIBLE! :)
