Excellent Food
We wanted a dinner after our wedding and not a typical reception so we rented the banquet room and the food was amazing and the service was excellent! I spoke with Wendi who was flexible with our large group. We were late (not recommended) because of our rehearsal but she welcomed us with a smile on her face. When we told our rehearsal coordinator where we were planning to have dinner, even she said the food was delicious. She was not wrong at all. The food was INCREDIBLE! Even my husband was wondering if our actual wedding food could top our rehearsal dinner. The staff was so kind and served our large group (40 people) with a permanent smile on their face. They got none of our orders wrong and everyone loved the atmosphere and food of the restaurant. I cannot wait to return for a date...I spoke with Wendi who was flexible with our large group. Doing a destination wedding we had a very small group of people, only 19. We were trying to find a place that wouldn't charge us an arm and leg to have dinner after the wedding. On our planners recommendation we contacted Middle Grounds Grill. This place was AMAZING!! They had a back room that would fit all of us at one table, we did not get the room to ourselves but it was actually fun to have other patrons there congratulating us. Wendy the coordinator there was a GEM to work with! We did a custom limited menu that was personalized with our wedding date and names. I had to call her at the last minute when I found...Doing a destination wedding we had a very small group of people, only 19. I had to call her at the last minute when I found out we had a new vegan joining us and she took care if it no problem. The wait staff was aware and got the special meal done quick and easy. The wait staff was top notch! I was a waitress for years and am very picky about it and this is some of the best service I have ever had in a large party. The food was outstanding. Everything came out cooked perfectly including the steaks and we didn't have to wait very long either. I would recommend this place for a small reception dinner or it would make a great rehearsal dinner location as well. We plan to go back for our 1 year anniversary dinner! -

I had my rehearsal dinner at Middle Grounds Grill a few weeks ago and it was absolutely perfect. It was tough to find a spot in St. Pete Beach to accommodate a party of our size, but this was one of the only spots I found. I'd never eaten there before so I just trusted the glowing online reviews and hoped for the best. I was not disappointed. Wendy, the banquet manager, was fantastic, and our servers Rocco and Tandra were amazing. Our guests raved about the food, service, and space, and my new husband and I were so pleased with how everything turned out. It was great to have our own private room, but even the dining room of this restaurant was beautiful. I cannot begin to say enough about this place. so the control freak that i am dealt with Dave one of the owners! He was fantastic, He assured me whatever I wanted they would have it fixed. He gave me lots of suggestions from apps, to seating arrangements etc. the staff that served our wedding party was incrediable. No one ever went without, they didnt give us time to. They were attentive, quick, friendly. Now lets talk about the food IMPECABLE!!!!!!! the fish was fresh, steaks oh so tender and tasty, chicken and pasta you could hear my guest all night talk about how great everything was. The drinks were great. they were so nice to the kids. I...I cannot begin to say enough about this place. so the control freak that i am dealt with Dave one of the owners! After searching all over St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island for a decently priced place that could hold 25 people for a welcome dinner for our wedding weekend we finally ate dinner at MGG and we were very impressed. They even had a party room in one corner of the restaurant with its own personal bar.
There was a bit of a mix up when we made our reservation, because we didn't talk to Dave. We talked to Dan, Dave's brother. Long story short they already had a group booked for the party room that Dan led me to believe was available for that date. Dave went as far as to call the other group to see...After searching all over St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island for a decently priced place that could hold 25 people for a welcome dinner for our wedding weekend we finally ate dinner at MGG and we were very impressed. They even had a party room in one corner of the restaurant with its own personal bar.

Long story short they already had a group booked for the party room that Dan led me to believe was available for that date. Dave went as far as to call the other group to see if they would move the time of their event for us so we could start our dinner before theirs. We decided to just make a normal reservation in the main area of the restaurant and skip the party room.
Communication seemed very abrupt every time I called and my e-mails were never responded to. All in all everything worked out though. Dave is on top of things, but he just seemed to be very busy You have the option to have cash bar or open bar. Dave will e-mail a banquet menu that covers all the main entree categories, 5-6 appetizer choices, and 3 dessert choices. Dave let us customize the menu and we substituted two of the entrees for other items on their normal menu. The banquet menu they provide does a great job of controlling costs. We chose two of the appetizers which they served about 3 large plates of each. The desserts are half sized desserts so they only ended up being about $3 a piece. The service was great.
My only real complaint is that I told the waitress we were ready to order our entrees and she said they were waiting until the appetizers were ready. It resulted in quite a lag between courses. It took about 3 hours from start to finish. All of our guests were highly impressed with the meal, the service, and the ambiance. -
