We absolutely loved our photos! He was very professional and courteous. He gave very good direction to us on how to pose. The different angles he took the shots were amazing in the photos. He captured the most beautiful photos of our wedding! I would recommend him 100% to anyone wanting to capture any beautiful event as he has done for us! I actually teared up as I looked thrue my wedding pictures. What a wonderful photographer!We absolutely loved our photos! He was very professional and courteous. Mike was absolutely the best photographer I have ever worked with. He is very flexible, friendly, and professional. He was on the ball with all the shots to be taken. I asked for a few extra shots which he took in stride and kept going. He took all the necessary ones plus lots of others. Then gives you consent to print pictures yourself. so no extra cost from him for extra photos. Very reasonably priced and willing to work within budgets. I love him. We LOVED our wedding photos. They came already put into a white wedding photo album with a little rhinestone ring on the front. Mike worked with us, and was very flexible. There were a few shots that we knew we wanted before hand and he was more than happy to take them, and then we left the rest of the picture ideas and poses in his hands, and they turned out amazing. There isn't a single picutre he took that we didn't like. That's very rare for any event, to not have at least one picture where you don't like how you look. We had brought a cd that was playing during the picutres so ina few of them he just took candid shots of us dancing and celebrating our marriage. I've already recommended Mike to several other friends that are looking at destination weddings. Everything was so easy, and we Love Love Love how the pictures turned out!We LOVED our wedding photos. I just got the digital copy and printed copies and I was very disappointed with the pictures! A lot of the shots were either out of focus or needed a lot of editing and serious photoshop. I've spent several hours editing the pictures of our wedding and some of them I just had to delete (like the picture of a headless shirt). There was very little direction from the photographer on what to do for pictures. He acted more like a guest than a paid photographer! I had to ask him to take pictures of us with the guests. Some of the guests were annoyed by his lack of initiative and thankfully took better pictures for us. Its hard to believe the high ratings he got from other reviews. Although Michael West was prompt for the ceremony and with returning the pictures, it appears that once he got his payment and sent the pictures he cares less to talk to his customers. I found that 27% of the pictures I received from West were sub par or below. Many pictures have people cut off in shots, are blurry, pictures of me on my phone trying to get others missing from the photo set up to come, and a picture just of a guest's shirt! I would assume that as a photographer you would put focus on the bride & groom and be able to wait to take a photo, but he went ahead and just took it.
I contacted Mr. West about our displeasure and he mentioned that he did overshoot more pictures than he should have and asked me if we would like a partial refund, I said it would be appreciated. He told me he would look through the pictures and get back with me and never has. I and my wife have called him about this matter and are either hurried to get off the phone or told we will get a call. It took almost a month of being given the run around until I was finally able to get in touch with him.
DO NOT hire Micheal West as your photographer!!!

Responsiveness: 0/5 because when my wife or I try to contact him about this matter we are now being given the run around and feel as though we are being lied to
Professionalism: 0/5 because I do not find it professional at all to deliver a sub par product and then seem to avoid their customers

We had previously paid Michael west and his wife to photograph and video our wedding, on arrival they explained to us that the video recorder wasn't working so one of our guests kindly lent mrs west his.
During the wedding he failed to give us and prompts for good pictures and kept asking us how we wanted the photos when he should of been telling us what would look good.
The following day the pictures were delivered and the camcorder collected to be sent to their editor. On looking through the pictures we were very disappointed as most of them were dark, blurry or off centre. Also in many of the pictures michaels wests wife can be seen in the corner with her camera tripod.
2 days later mrs west returned and told us their editor was unable to complete the video as they haven't got the equipment, she offered us a $100 refund but we said we were unhappy with the pictures also but she refused to give us any money and said they took more pictures than they should have. Just a shame none of them are of good quality.
They stupidly left the evidence of the fact they took the pictures to Walgreens and only cost $32 to process. Any real professionals would of centred and photo shopped the photos. When we said this his wife said they never do that and she was a photographer she was a wedding organiser so we are unsure as to why she was videoing our wedding. She left without even giving us the $100 refund she said she would.
Our pictures look nothing like the ones on their website or the ones that they bring in an album when you first meet them. Luckily many of our guests have took plenty of good pictures and also the Pastor that married us had his wife at the ceremony and reception and she took some amazing pictures.
So we have paid $800 for rubbish photos that cost $32 to process and no video.

If you want good pictures of your Wedding DO NOT hire Michael West.
Our friends and family took better shots than they did. Their video camera did not work and the quality of their work was very very poor. We had pre-paid and they would not refund any of our money. They did no editing of the pictures, took them to Walgreens to be developed and just put them in an album.
