Talented and fun!
Michael is very good at photographing two awkward people and making it look like we are naturals! He did our engagement photos and our wedding photos. He got us a sneak peek pretty fast and he just captured everything between my wife and I. He’s friendly and kind, along with professional and creative! He will forever be my go to for professional photos! -

Michael has taken photos for me on more than one occasion, although not my wedding; he has been the photographer for a handful of my friends weddings, three of which I were present for (I will get back to that). He provides quality pictures at unbeatable prices. He is affordable from the start. Sure, you will fine someone who can "beat" his prices (who doesn't love to save money?) but cheaper prices will come with less quality. You only have one shot at getting perfect pictures on your wedding day, that is not worth risking with a lower price. You won't find many other photographers with the quality for the prices.
Watching him work is great, in both family photo or wedding settings. He seems to have a natural eye for lighting and knowing where to go without the "uhh how about over here" and then a return of failed lighting in your pictures. I loved my wedding photographer (not Michael) and many of my pictures, BUT there were some (nearly all of our family ones, done in terrible lighting, and I wish the photographer would've put us in a better place to take those because only a few turned out good). He is relaxed and laid back, which makes you (and your guest) comfortable enough to get in there and get pictures, good pictures! -

My wedding was on 10/03/2020. My husband and I booked Michael Phillips Photography for both our engagement photos and our wedding day photos. They all turned out beautiful and we are beyond happy. We received our photos back quickly and even had a few drone videos that were so awesome. -

I cannot say enough good things about Michael. He not only had photographed my wedding, but other family occasions. He took the time to listen to what I wanted for my wedding, and his pictures did not disappoint. I had so many wonder shots, and I will have tons of memories for the rest of my life because of it. If you need a photographer, he's your guy. -

Gina Sent on 05/20/2018Michael is an extremely talented, patient, and very friendly guy! May I also add that he was willing to drive 3 hours in the rain up to Baltimore (that was a blessing in itself!). He has been such a pleasure to work with and from what I saw on his camera, the pictures turned out absolutely beautiful! He also has the most budget friendly photography packages for such phenomenal work! He really knew what he was doing, knew the right angles, and the right poses that everyone looked best in! I would definitely recommend Michael to photograph any upcoming weddings or any photo sessions that you need! -

FRAUD! Beware of this man! I pray no one will ever have to go through this , so im here to share my story.
I first reached out to Micahel in 2020 for him to provide a video for our wedding, which was going to be in 2021. my husband was then sent to Germany for a job for a year. we moved the wedding to 2022, and Michael was kind enough to still help us out on our big day. I sent him our deposit in 2021, and my first red flag should have been it took me to contact him twice for the receipt of the invoice. paid the second half a few weeks before our wedding, which was sept 4th, 2022. He showed and did the video footage for our wedding and reception, and when it was time for him to leave, he told my husband and I he would have our footage to us in 2 weeks. I know photography takes time, so I was assuming so did videography. I reached out to him the end of sept by email, and I didn't get a response, so I decided to message him through facebook on October 4th. He told me he would have it to me at the beginning of the following week. after not hearing from him again I messaged him on october 18th, and all he said was "just about finished." meanwhile hes posting on his photography page all these other weddings he did after mine. his fb page is under michael phillips photos. so i waited again and messaged him AGAIN on october 27th and he responded something about him being in vegas and he would finish everything when he got back. so November 8th messaged him again asking for an update ....no response.... November 11th 2022 telling him its been over two months and that we would have to take this into a legal matter if I didn't receive what I paid for . that caught his attention and he said he would have it to me THAT NIGHT. I messaged him the following morning stating I received absolutely nothing. he responsed telling me his mom is in ICU and sent me a link stating he was going to upload everything to that link. only thing on that link is the ceremony of my wedding which is NOT what i paid for I paid for the entire highlights of my day. me getting ready,my first dances, my reception, cake cutting, etc. still today there is nothing and I have not received a refund or my services and hes just completely ignoring the whole situation telling me his mother is more importany on life support (which i agree if its true) but if my mother was on life support I wouldnt be continuing posting sessions and concerts im attending to. on Nov. 13th, he stated he was going to submit a refund that I have yet received. I have reached out to him November 22nd december 6th and December 28th and he is not responding He has been an absolute nightmare to work with but I will not stand down to him because this is FRAUD.
ps. several friends who knows him personally stated to me he is a person who over shares and has heard nothing of his mother being on life support. -

Rescheduled our shoot 12 hours before and was a no show/ghost the next week. We staged our shoot twice and still haven't heard back a month later (Left 3 phone messages and 2 text messages)to be clear we tried to reach him at 804-721-4597 which is the number he scheduled us onMichael Phillips Photography's reply:
I'm not sure what the issue is here. I haven't received any calls or texts. Shoot me a text and we'll get this sorted out -

WARNING! Seems cool at first until…..
I happened to find Michael Phillips Photography while browsing through the Facebook wedding groups. I reached out to get some information about his services and potentially booking him for our wedding on 6/4/22. He seemed really nice and knowledgeable about weddings and assured me that he would be the best person for the job. So, we booked him for the 10 hour package + highlight video.
Day of the wedding- Michael was punctual and was a really fun photographer. He even gave my niece some great tips on her own photography. We had great conversation which led me to believe that we made the best decision.
I WAS WRONG..
A week and a day following the wedding (6/12), I reached out to get his timeline on the pictures and our highlight video being returned to us. He said that it would take 3-4 weeks. I thought that was a bit long, and asked for a sneak peek. We waited and waited and didn’t receive anything.
6/27- I sent a follow up message to see why I hadn’t received anything yet and why I have to keep reaching out for updates. During this time, he also posted other pictures of another couple that was photographed after us. (At this point, I still have not received a single picture) When I reached out, he responded with – “Still finishing up on them. It's quite a bit. Not to mention we just got into a car accident Sunday night so trying to take care of that. The photos I post are previews I edit at a wedding. Not a full gallery.” Now, we all know this is a typical excuse of a person who is unable to keep commitments. I wanted to trust in the best intentions, I showed concern and expressed that all I needed him to do was COMMUNICATE.
Here's his response: “My wedding photos took two months. Almost 3. But I understand where you're coming from. Your preview should have been emailed to so it wouldn't lose quality but if you didn't receive it, I'll send here in just a few after dinner” I
Still didn’t receive anything….
7/4- I get a message that a preview was sent and that I didn’t sign his contract. Wow. He originally sent over a contract w/ another client’s name on it. (Lack of customer confidentiality and unprofessional) He sent over another one, I signed his contract. He then said “Everything should be by Wednesday at the latest”
7/6- A preview was sent to me containing less than half of the pictures from the wedding and only a few from our entrance into the reception.
7/9- I reached back out to find out why I still hadn’t received the rest of my pictures nor my highlight video. No response.
7/11- I reached back out to see why I still hadn’t heard anything… My husband called him over the phone and he said he would have them up ASAP and made excuses that he thought he already had uploaded them….
7/13- He responds with “Your pictures are up. Check the link. Theyve been up since last night” They weren’t. A few days later, he added some more but still not the full gallery and missing the entire bridal party pictures.
7/24- Still no highlight video….still no response.
Here we are today, 7/25. I still do not have a video. I’m not getting any responses from him. The edits are trash. During this time, I did some research of his company and saw that there were numerous of other couples who had horrible experiences. In the future, I will have more diligence on my end before spending another penny with a company who is not reliable, lacks communication skills and does not provide their clients with their services.
Do not let this happen to you!!

Cancelled on us the day of the wedding and only gave us half a refund!!!!!!!Michael Phillips Photography's reply:
This couple messaged me a month before their wedding saying they could no longer afford my services and demanded a deposit back. After I had told them it was not refundable they begged for half of it back. This was after I moved their date from last year to this year. I held two days for two years for them. I decided to grant them their request and gave them their half deposit back.
