Hiring Micahla Vaughn as our wedding photographer was easily the best decision that we made throughout the wedding planning process. While the high quality of her work speaks for itself, it's worth noting how incredible Micahla is as a person. Micahla was always professional, flexible, and insightful. As a stressed-out bride without a wedding planner, I truly appreciated her calming presence and creative mind. Not only did everyone feel comfortable with her behind the lens, but I received many compliments from the bridal party about how enjoyable she made the process of taking photos! Thank you, Micahla, for your kindness and attention to detail that shines through every single photo!
Micahla was a delight to work with, as she took our engagement photos, my bridal portraits, our rehearsal dinner photos, and our wedding photos. Now with the benefit of hindsight, I am still so glad that we booked these additional sessions with her, because we now have all of these photos to look back on and relieve each and every moment leading up to our wedding day. I highly recommend booking with Micahla for your wedding day photography and for all of your "extra" (but I'd say necessary) wedding-related events. Her 10-day turnaround is unheard of and a definite plus! -

Weaver Wedding
Micahla gets ALL the stars!!! She truly has a talent like no other! She is calm, cool, collective, and takes the stress out of your day all while capturing the perfect moments. I searched for a photographer for weeks and could not make a decision. I wanted to be “wowed” and the second I saw her work.. I was “wowed”. She is AMAZING. I booked her instantly and never looked back. She is everything I could’ve imagined and more. From the time she got here until the time she left she was capturing not only natural pictures of us but pictures of moments all around that we didn’t even know were taking place. She captured it all! Living that night all over again was a dream once we got our pictures back. I was completely blown away!! Micahla, you are here to stay! Thank you sweet girl for capturing the most wonderful night of my life and providing me with the most outstanding pics! I am forever grateful for you! -

Micahla is the best
Micahla was lovely to work with on our wedding day. She was very organized and completely understood the vision that both my husband and I had for our photos. I love that Micahla reached out to me when we first had contacted her through our venue Sainte Terre. She made sure to take note of the most important moments that we wanted to be captured.
Micahla was very organized in every aspect. She made a draft schedule that I received over a year before our wedding date and a finalized schedule that I received a month before. This made everything stress free for both me and my husband (and our wedding party/families). Micahla paid very close attention to the small details that we wanted captured and to the details that we included in our décor.
The entire day was stress free and I did not have to think about what I wanted captured; Micahla took care of everything for us! She was very sweet, gentle, and patient with all the kids in our families and accommodated to their unpredictable movements and faces (Both of our families still talk about how great she was). Micahla was a team player for my husband and I after it had started raining after our ceremony; and I swear the pictures in the rain are the most romantic pictures I have ever seen!
We received the photos within the 10-day deadline that Micahla has set. The photos are breathtaking, and we get so many complements about how great our photographer was. My husband and I are very appreciative of the memories that Micahla had captured, and we have talked about using her in the future for family pictures.

Best photographer in the area - absolutely superior!

I wish I could give 6 stars!! Micahla did our engagement photos, a boudoir shoot, and our wedding on November 16, 2019 at LaChute plantation. She did a phenomenal job and she is simply my favorite vendor we worked with. You can see her passion for what she does in every photo she takes. Her photos are light and airy- not overly edited which I LOVE! She works quickly without making you feel rushed. She also gets your photos back to you very quickly compared to other photographers I’ve seen. She will be our forever photographer for every milestone in our lives, but more importantly, she will be a forever friend of our family. Much love to you, Micahla! You are magic. -

I don’t know if I can adequately express the value Micahla added to our planning and wedding day experience, but I’ll try to without hitting the character limit.
Micahla photographed our wedding, engagement and my bridal photos. From our very first email I could tell she was going to be our photographer, this was before I had even talked to her on the phone or met her in person. Her kind personality just shines through the screen. I had a lot of anxiety about our engagement shoot matching what I had in my head and had lots of questions and a detailed shot list. Micahla was supportive and patient through it all and happily collaborated with me. Funnily enough, by the time we got to the actual wedding day I didn’t have a shot list because I knew I could trust her to capture the day better than the ideas I had in my head — she did not disappoint.
I should probably mention that Micahla primarily photographs and lives in Louisiana and my husband and I live in Texas. But it was so worth it and a small price to pay for her travel to our hometown in Dallas and then Dripping Springs for our wedding. Normally, I’m very aware of the camera and end up with some very unnatural photos because of it. But from our engagement shoot forward, I felt like I could be myself so the photos feel candid and not posed. The wedding day was oddly calm and stress free. Both my husband and I attribute a lot of that to Micahla being there. The moment she arrived I could tell I felt more at ease.
I echo the things other couples have said about her fast turnaround time, light and airy style and so on. That being said, I feel the event that best explains what a joy it is to work with Micahla is when we were shooting my bridals. We were in a converted warehouse studio accompanied by my two cats, Luna and Leon.
We were only about halfway through the shoot when Leon made a puddle of pee right in the center of the train of my dress. The whole scene was just plain comical, Micahla and looked at each other with a mix of shock and irony trying to figure out what to do next. Being who she is, she quickly turned a less than ideal situation in to something fun.
Not to be bummed out by a little cat pee, we decided to keep shooting — after all that’s what Photoshop is for, right? The rest of the shoot went on without issue. Although we couldn’t stop laughing as I spun around in my dress wafting the smell of cat pee around the room and giggling about how care free we were about the whole situation. All that mattered in the end was that my cats were okay and we had a good time. The spot came out without issue before the big day and those photos with my cats are possibly some of my favorite photos much to my husband’s chagrin. (Don’t feel to bad for him though, he knew he was marrying a cat lady.)
Lastly, I think I can speak for both of us when I say we feel incredibly blessed to have had Micahla as our photographer and wouldn't have it any other way. I personally feel like I’ve gained a lifelong friend and she’s the one I will always go to for all my future big life events.Micahla Vaughn's reply:

Micahla is incredible!
Anyone can look at Micahla's work and see that she is an absolutely incredible photographer. What makes Micahla stand out, however, is her personality. She is so great to work with. I am a photographer myself, so I am use to being behind the camera, not in front of it. My now husband isn't that big of a fan of pictures either, so we were both not looking forward to our photoshoots. Micahla INSTANTLY changed both of our attitudes on the day of our engagements. We actually had tons of fun, and we have beautiful pictures that we will cherish forever. The same is true for my bridal session and for our wedding day. Micahla is the SWEETEST person I have ever met, and she goes above and beyond. She traveled over 8 hours for our destination wedding and then the day of the wedding, it rained the ENTIRE time. Micahla was still able to give us some of the most beautiful pictures and she had the best attitude the whole time. We even took pictures in the pouring rain and her dress was soaked before the ceremony even started, but she never missed a beat and never stopped smiling. I can't thank her enough for helping to make our wedding day absolutely perfect. -

The only choice!
Micahla is so personable and kind. One look at her pictures and it’s clear that she is awesome at what she does. She was very organized on my wedding day and made sure she got pictures of everything and everyone. There is no one else I would have rather had capturing my day. If I had to do it all again I would 1000% choose her. -

Sweetest and most talented photographer around
Micahla is an amazing photographer, artist and becomes a sweet friend. Her patience and eye is something to be envied and made everyone feel and look beautiful in all the shots. When she tells you, "trust me you are going to love this shot" she means it. So blessed to have had Micahla as our photographer throughout our wedding journey. -

We would recommend Michaela 100 times over!!
From the moment Alex proposed to D’nyelle we knew Micahla was the only photographer for their big day. She has taken photos for our family a couple of times as well as their engagement photos. We love her natural style of photography and ability to capture the beauty in a moment.
Micahla is wonderful to have as part of your special day and is clearly so passionate about what she does. Her friendly disposition, seemingly infinite supply of energy and undeniable sense of fun allowed us and all our guest to completely relax in her company and be our true selves in front of the lens.
On the day of their wedding, she captured photos of the wedding party getting ready which turned out to be some of our favorite pictures from the day! It’s hard to put in to words how blown away we were by her work. There were so many incredible and special moments that she managed to capture so perfectly, and so naturally, which is just what we were looking for.
We have lost count of all the guests who commented on how amazing she was. She was able to direct the group photos without being intrusive or overbearing and throughout the day/evening she blended in to the scene perfectly. Her passion and enthusiasm to capture every moment shone all throughout the Wedding. We are over the moon with the wedding photographs. The whole day is documented and captured perfectly, you have given us memories we will treasure forever.
Thank you so much for making their wedding day perfect and stress free, from the moment you arrived you were calm and professional and just went ahead quietly blending into to the background, snapping away and making us feel relaxed and enabling natural moments to be photographed.
Everything was perfect, from the communication, to the quick turnaround. We couldn’t have wished for anything more and we would recommend Michaela 100 times over! -

She engages with her clients in a way making them feel comfortable behind the lens from the very beginning photo! Her photos are beautiful full of light and have a bright airy effect. Her sweet spirit allows her to get the job done right by pre planned organization on my wedding day AND bridals and engagements. I could go on and on about how she made my wedding day perfect!
