There seems to be some problems with the responsiveness of the event coordinator in the past. The current coordinator, Robert, is very responsive to any calls and emails I had in the year leading up to the wedding.
The Botanic Garden itself is a beautiful venue. There are a lot of places to have lovely pictures taken. We had our ceremony at the Blecken Pavilion and the reception at the Goldsmith Room and Sculpture Garden. There’s a good distance between the 2 places so we were able to rent 2 trams. It was very helpful. I, also, liked that they had certain caterers you had to use. It made it easy to choose one we liked. -

Michael with the Botanic Gardens was a huge help and very professional. Our wedding at Sara’s Place at the Botanic Gardens was beautiful. -

Robert and his team were awesome! They have great communication and various options with the type of wedding you would love.
The downfall of the venue is the bridal suite needs a major update in decor. I kept bumping my head on the chandelier. I'm only 5'1. Also, they need to update their catering list. Most of the cateres are out of business due to COVID. It's not a lot of options. Besides that it was an amazing wedding for us! -

The scene sets itself! Saved me tons of money on flowers because we literally got married in a beautiful garden! The Blecken and Sara’s Place were amazing! Would definitely recommend! -

We had the pleasure of working with Mr. Robert Stice one of the directors of events at the Memphis Botanic Gardens. Mr. Stice ensured a lot of my wishes came to life. The Botanic Gardens does have a pre approved list of caterers and bartenders but they were easy to book. We ended up using Club Windward for catering and CFY for bartending. Mr. Stice ensured that my brother had direct access to Sara’s Place and a special route for his wheelchair accessible vehicle to be as close to the Blekken Pavillion as possible. Thank you so much for all of your help and helping make my garden wedding dreams come true! -

Bri Sent on 06/10/2018Beautiful garden. Friendly, prompt, accommodating staff. Accessory items (chairs, tram, etc.) are a little pricey compared to the garden wedding ceremony price. The day of, everyone was super helpful but some things and places were hard to find. I suggest scoping it out and setting up a meeting with a rentals coordinator prior to your rehearsal weekend. I couldn’t, as I lived 4 hours away, but I think it would’ve been helpful.

Krystle Sent on 06/10/2012It was a beautiful place to get married at and lots of great photo ops! Price was a little steep for a 30 minute ceremony but it is what it is. They couldn't find our check that paid our balance, and yes, we did bring it but they did find ultimately find it. Other than that, I loved everything about getting married at MBG! -

I originally booked the Botanic Gardens 14 months before my wedding date. They were wonderful and responsive. I had been in contact with them a couple of times throughout the year and again, they were responsive and great. 3 months before my wedding my florist informed me that they completely cleaned house and got rid of all their event staff and had all new people. I NEVER received any communication that I had a new contact or anything. I went by without an appointment and they were so overwhelmed! They had me in their calendar, thankfully! However, they did not have a file on me. Did not have a copy of my signed contract or receipt of my deposit. After I came by they were very unresponsive! I sent 5-6 emails and left multiple voicemails with no response. Finally got someone to respond to answer my questions but it was frustrating that I had to practically harass them to get simple answers. Then 2 weeks before the wedding I wanted to confirm everything and make final payment. Again, no response! 2 days before my wedding I had to stop by again without an appointment just to pay my balance and ensure they had ordered my chairs. Day of wedding we show up to take pictures. My florist had delivered the flowers 30-45 mins before I got there and they could not find them! The front desk staff were rude and not helpful. We finally found the flowers but not until after our bridal portraits. The venue is beautiful but the staff their are very unorganized and need to work on customer service.
