We are YouTubers, so having a great video is even MORE important for us when sharing our memories with our family, friends, and supporters. We weren't even sure, when we began planning our wedding, that we wanted to spend the money on a videographer. Looking at pricing initially made us balk -- but advice from family and friends let us look again. We found Tommy with Memories Made. He was exactly what we needed in a vendor. He was quick to answer questions, happy to give us the time we needed ahead of the wedding to be comfortable having his team there, and responsive afterward with questions and requests. Our videos are something we are going to view over and over again over the years. I'm so glad we spent the money on Memories Made. -

My wife and I hired Memories Made for our wedding in May 2021. We love how the full-feature video was able to capture every special detail of our wedding day! Tommy and team put together a beautiful wedding highlight and full feature video for us. After having planned a 250+ person wedding pre-pandemic, and then having to rearrange everything to have our immediate family-only wedding on December 19th, Tommy was flexible and captured the most intimate details of our day. It could not be more beautiful footage! By far, the most affordable and high-quality videographer I have seen. Thank you, Tommy, for helping us remember our special day for years to come! We decided to have videography for our wedding much later in the planning process than most of the other planning we did for booking vendors. I was on the fence for a long time, ultimately, we decided to go for it. As we were later in the planning, I didn't have a big budget to allot. Many videographers (as with any other vendors) have astronomical prices. I found Memories Made via The Knot and I always appreciate it when vendors are transparent and list their prices on their website! We selected a package that worked for us and communicated with Tommy throughout the process. Tommy is very friendly.
The reason for deducting one star is mostly due to communication. When I was interviewing Tommy before booking, I noticed they are listed for two states so that was concerning because I didn't know if they'd be available for my wedding in CA. He assured me they operate in both states. However, it was not communicated to us that we'd have someone else as the videographer the day of our wedding. I feel bad that I cannot remember the name of our videographer because I was only introduced on the day of the wedding and there was so much else happening that day. We had a winter wedding at night so the lighting isn't great, and I feel that slightly impacted the video quality (that's not so much a knock on them, I knew that was a possibility having a wedding at night in December). Additionally, there wasn't much communication after the wedding as far as the timeline for receiving our videos (in the end, it took a few months). I was as understanding as possible, knowing our wedding was around the holidays and the ongoing pandemic impacts, I only wish there was a little more communication.
I am happy with the outcome of the videos and being able to choose the songs featured in our video for that extra personal touch. Because the process took a little longer, Tommy was very accommodating at providing some extra footage we requested. I think their main homebase is in Kansas, so perhaps it would be better suited for weddings there. Overall, I'd still recommend working with them as long as more specific details are discussed when booking.Memories Made's reply:
Hi Rachel, Tommy here. I'm very grateful for your review and I completely understand knocking off one star - that's completely fair. I'm am so very sorry it took a little longer than expected as well as not being the one to shoot your wedding. We do ONLY serve Orange County, CA, Kansas City Metro in Kansas, and Tampa, Fl. Also we only work with the same videographers at each location so they know our culture and vision for our work. Your videographer was Rene. We trust them implicitly. I used to travel to all weddings but after the pandemic and more recently, travel has been a lot more expensive. We don't charge "extra" for travel and keep our prices the same across the board. Even when I do have to travel for a wedding, it comes out of the purchase price - it just wasn't feasible during the December month. However, all weddings go through me and all editing comes through my desk. You wouldn't have been able to tell the difference if I shot the wedding or one of our 3 lead videographers shot the wedding - nonetheless, I understand where you are coming from and I appreciate your feedback.
