Exceeded my expectations!
Melissa was fantastic to work with! I found her because she did make up for two of my friends weddings, so I got to experience her as a bridesmaid and a bride. I’m not big on wearing make up and never wear any concealer. She was super understanding while I tried to figure out how much make up I was comfortable with. She ended up recommending a tinted concealer because I didn’t love looking too done up and my finished look on the wedding day was perfect. She did a fantastic job with my mother and bridesmaids as well. I’ve seen her work three wedding and each time she’s prompt, gives everyone exactly what they’re looking for, and sticks to the timeline super well. Would highly recommend and use for any future important events. -

Absolutely beautiful!!
I can’t say enough amazing things about Melissa! I was looking for a makeup artist for my engagement session, and ended up finding Melissa with a tight turn around to our photoshoot day. Luckily, she was available and I felt so beautiful! From then on, I knew I wanted her to do my makeup for my wedding and all of my bridesmaids. All of her makeup products are very high quality and lasted the entire day. So many guests complemented me and my bridesmaids on our makeup, and it truly was because of Melissa. Not only did she make us all feel beautiful, but she truly is so sweet and kind, and very accommodating. Beyond our bridesmaids, we had moms, grandmas and aunts all get their makeup done; and she handled it all with such grace. I would highly recommend Melissa!-

Best Makeup experience
I am in the beauty business and needed my makeup done for a photo shoot.
I have had my makeup done professionally by several artists and spent large amounts per session.
Her excellence in understanding what I needed for a photo shoot and the quality of her result far surpasses anything I previously experienced.

Happy I hired Melissa!
After a long makeup artist search that is reasonably priced, I hired Melissa and was super happy with her makeup expertise! She is a very focused professional who took the time to get to know what I wanted and did an amazing job. I feel like I looked natural (which I wanted) and not overly done and still elegant and polished! Definitely would hire Melissa again anytime I need professional makeup! -

Makeup so flawless, it looked like a filter
Melissa was so great to work with! She was super quick & responsive upon first booking her, and I felt I could trust her right off the bat. I hired her to do my makeup, my mom's, and 3 of my bridesmaids, and they all came out beautifully! She even recommended hair stylists, one which I actually chose to book. What I loved most about Melissa is how she enhanced our natural beauty rather than making us look like completely different people. Per my bridesmaids, my face looked like a filter because of how flawless it was 😍 all of our makeup lasted all night through all the sweat and tears. She even provided a little makeup touch-up kit to use throughout the day. I didn't end up needing it, but it was nice to have just in case! Melissa has many years of experience under her belt, and we could tell! 10 out of 10 recommend 😊 -

So talented!
It was such an amazing day and Melissa made that happen! I had to find someone last minute due to the fact that I really didn’t like my first initial trial but was going to settle, but then my friend introduced me to Melissa and she was able to schedule me a trial and had availability for my special day! It all fell into place so perfect! She’s so professional, patient, and pays attention to detail. Thank you for making me so beautiful Melissa!! -

My exact vision!!
I am truly grateful and honored to have had Melissa do my bridal makeup for my special day. I wanted something dramatic while also being on the more natural side and Melissa nailed it! She gave me beautiful Smokey eyes with just enough color on the lips. The Airbrush foundation was also very light, letting my face breath while still providing beautiful coverage. From day 1 she was extremely responsive, informative, and flexible. I was so anxious the morning of my wedding but Melissa was on time and so wonderful that it made the day so much more relaxing and fun! She was truly a joy to have and I absolutely loved my wedding day look! I highly recommend Melissa for any makeup needs. She has the vision and technique to make any look come to life!!! -

Most beautiful makeup!!
I was given Melissa’s contact info through a friend of mine that got married in 2019. I don’t usually wear makeup so I’m always skeptical about wearing any but I wanted to make sure I was dolled up for my special day. Melissa totally changed my mind about makeup and how it can be worn. She made me look and feel so gorgeous and natural, I couldn’t believe it. I still looked like myself but so much more polished! I would hire her again in a second!! Highly highly recommend her!!! -

Ahhhmazing!
Covid has been tough and with my wedding being postponed numerous times I was thrilled when we were given the green light from our venue. I Hired Melissa over a year ago and she’s been so great with all the crazy changes and cancellations. When our day finally came it was all that I had ever dreamed of. Gorgeous!!
My previous makeup artist had backed out last minute, I was scrambling :( I found Melissa through wedding wire and thankfully she was still available for my wedding. Her work and pictures were stunning so I knew I didn’t need to schedule a trial. On the day of she arrived early and ready to work. I had 8 bridesmaids and she literally got us ALL done in a timely manner with touch ups at the end! I have never seen anyone do that before. Melissa is amazing!
I was looking for a makeup person at the last minute because the person I originally booked backed out two months before my wedding. One of my friends suggested Melissa and sent me her Instagram page. Melissa also did my friend's makeup for her wedding and I remembered how great she looked. I reached out to Melissa and asked her if she was available... and thank goodness she was! We exchanged numbers and conversed via text message. She was very responsive even while being busy with her 7 month old baby. Once we got the logistics down, we scheduled a makeup consultation two weeks before my wedding. She took the time to make sure that the colors complimented my skin tone. The foundation she used was perfect, the eyeshadows she used were great and the lipstick color was gorgeous. I couldn't be more happier with the outcome (and that was only the consultation). and felt confident that my makeup was going to look great on my wedding day.
On my wedding day she brought her makeup station and went to work.. first on my bridesmaid and MOH and my little flower girl. They all looked stunning and the makeup looked so natural on them. My bridesmaid, who never wears makeup, was so impressed at how her makeup looked and that it didn't looked caked on. Both my girls' makeup stayed on all night! When it was my turn, Melissa again took the time to make sure that everything was perfect... and yes my makeup stayed on all night too!
I can't thank Melissa enough- she helped with making my day so special. If you guys decide to go with her, you will no be disappointed! -

I booked Melissa a year ahead of time but unfortunately with Covid we had to delay things for a while. Melissa was so understanding and patient with me, even when I was a bridezilla at times. Makeup in 105 Degrees LASTED
It was an especially hot weekend in Livermore. Over 100 degrees to be exact. Melissa was the makeup artist for my friend's outdoor wedding. I was the first bridesmaid in Melissa's chair. At 8am, she did my makeup BEAUTIFULLY. I loved it. When I realized I would be outside in the hellish heat for the next 10 plus hours, I was sad to see all of her work go to waste. But guess what? When I arrived back at the hotel at 10pm, I still looked amazing! I felt and smelled pretty bad, but my face was on fleek. Thank you, Melissa! You worked magic! -

I Felt Like A Dream
Melissa is amazing. We had to move our wedding 4 times because of COVID and she was always sweet, communicative, friendly, kind, just really really great.
When it came to the actual makeup, I felt like a dream. She made all of us look stunning. And our makeup lasted all day in 100+ degree heat. She is quick, attentive and skilled. -

I highly recommend Melissa! If you want long-lasting, natural-looking makeup for an event, Melissa is your girl! My friend had hired Melissa to do her bridal party makeup in 2017. I recalled how great I felt and looked as a bridesmaid for that 12+ hour wedding day, that I had to hire her for my own wedding. My photographer and videographer were amazed at how natural the finished looks were. They mentioned that other MUAs typically pile on the makeup, so their end result is caked-on and synthetic, but Melissa’s makeup art looked naturally great in person and on film. Melissa uses only the highest quality makeup and it shows. She is a true professional who knows her craft and what looks best for every face/person. Working with Melissa was a breeze in terms of scheduling and communitaction. She was always super friendly, flexible, responsive, organized, and punctual. I would hire her again with hesitation. -

I cannot say enough good things about Melissa Oliveira! As someone who was planning my wedding from across the country, I did not know who to select. I booked Melissa based on the amazing reviews that she had, and the before/after pictures of her work. I am so glad that I did! The excellent reviews and the pictures were 100% accurate. Melissa was very personable and easy to work with, and very talented!!!! She did the makeup of my mother, my maid of honor and myself (the bride). All three of us were thrilled with the job that she did! She completely nailed the natural beauty look, and the makeup lasted throughout the ceremony and reception, with no touchups needed throughout the whole night! In addition, the makeup photographed beautifully in pictures! I am not someone who typically leaves reviews, but I am so happy that I chose Melissa to do the makeup for my wedding, that I would not hesitate to recommend her for future weddings and events. -

Melissa is a must for your wedding day makeup! She was simply wonderful throughout all of my wedding planning process and on the day of the wedding. I had a trial beforehand and when I went she was even able to recommend a hairstylist to me that she works with. I ended up booking the hairstylist for my wedding as well. Not only did Melissa handle 10 women's makeup on the day of my wedding flawlessly, but their makeup looked elegant, sophisticated, and bridal. No one looked like their makeup was "overdone"..instead she enhanced everyone's features, hid any discoloration/blemishes, and brought a more flirty, youthful look to my wedding party. She also listened to everything I wanted as the bride (even when I changed my desired look last minute), was kind to everyone in my party, arrived on time, and kept on schedule (which is hard to do on a wedding day!). Melissa's talent and skill level are amazing. I highly recommend her if you are looking for someone to do beautiful wedding makeup, reduce your stress on the day of, and handle all sorts of personalities. Her prices are also reasonable and fair, especially for everything you get with her service. I would definitely book Melissa again for an event and recommend her to brides. She made the day relaxing and fun, even with all the extra stress that comes with a wedding day. Make up lasted all night and everyone looked absolutely stunning. Melissa did makeup for my wedding, including three bridesmaid and two mothers. For starters, I couldn't believe I managed to snag her. My makeup artist backed out a month before the wedding and in panic mode I emailed Melissa because I loved the style of makeup she did on brides, and was honestly hoping since there was no way I could imagine her having availability for just a few weeks out that she could recommend someone else with similar style. Miraculously she was available since another wedding she'd had planned for my day had moved dates.
From start to finish she was warm, professional and a perfectionist (just my style). My trial went great and afterward, I decided to make some slight changes for the day of based on how my dress turned out, which she gladly welcomed. I was nervous about having the perfect makeup look for the wedding and she reassured me multiple times making me feel 100% comfortable.
Two days before the wedding, I got a massage that left a huge dark bruise on the back on my neck. In full panic mode again, I reached out and she was not concerned, she'd have no problem covering it up, phew!
The day of was a dream. She did makeup for the two mothers that was appropriate, gorgeous and you could tell they were feeling all kinds of glamorous. My bridesmaids were floored with how their makeup turned out, they looked beautiful and as for me, my makeup was flawless. There were many many happy tears and a ton of sweaty dance moves but my makeup never budged.
I looked perfect from start to finish. I can't thank Melissa enough for her AMAAAAZING makeup skills, always keeping me calm and confident leading up to the wedding, and making me feel gorgeous (with so so so many compliments from my guests) on my big day. -

Having my makeup done by Melissa has been an awesome experience! Melissa was definitely within my budget and her prices were reasonable for myself (the bride) and 5 bridesmaids. We started off with a makeup-trial at the Neiman Marcus - Dior in San Francisco and I wanted a neutral look and Melissa exceeded my expectations! (she even gave my bridesmaid who came to watch get my makeup trial done and I a small sample Dior goodie bag! Super cute). Anyway, I had engagement photos right after my make-up trial so I pretty much tested out the water proof makeup hiking through San Francisco, I even cried and my makeup was still on FLEEK the entire day! Not a smudge came off! So I was extremely satisfied! On my wedding day, Melissa came right on time 6:30a and started working on the bridesmaids. She was really good at timing each girls and finished by noon. I LOVE the makeup she used on myself and my bridesmaids. She basically enhanced our natural beauty with the right type of make up! We all felt good and confident in the makeup she used. FLAWLESS and BEAUTIFUL is all I have to say. Melissa is the Queen of MUA in the BAY AREA ;) Thank you soooo much for making this part of my wedding the least stressful! I recommend Melissa to all the soon to be brides because girl, she will make you look GORGEOUS ;) Ps. You'll love taking selfies ;) -

Absolutely LOVE Melissa! Professional, courteous, and punctual. She made my 5 bridesmaids and most importantly myself look breath taking for my wedding in Sonoma.
My five bridesmaids including MOH had all different dresses with various blush to taupe shades and she was able to personalize each look.
For me, we decided on a classic soft smokey muted brown with an exaggerated wing and full lashes. A bright pinky coral lip (which I would of never picked, thanks Melissa!!!!) was the perfect choice to compliment my bouqet and warmer skin tone!
I wanted to cry when I saw myself, but luckily I did not! Makeup lasted through the entire day! We started at 8am, wedding was at 3pm, pictures at 2pm. Melissa was done promptly and with enough time to relax before the big show!
Can't say enough about this lovely lady. She's a makeup genius and an even better person! You will NOT be disappointed!!! -

But once she got started everyone was perfectly fine. She was amazing. She just did one right after the other. No one complained or asked to have things changed. And it last all night long. After scouring the internet for reviews and 3 makeup trials later (ouch $$!) I booked Melissa. As someone who works on-camera on a regular basis, I was pretty picky with what I wanted and Melissa gave me exactly what I was looking for. The quality of the products she used were fantastic, and my girls raved about her!
Most importantly: the makeup lasted all night no creasing, streaking, or fading, through all kinds of tears, and even 1 ugly cry. (It's a wedding after all!)
She worked all day tirelessly to make me look beautiful and to make the women in my bridal party feel like princesses. I fully intend to book her again for any other photo shoots I do, and cannot recommend her enough.
Stop looking at other reviews and just meet with Melissa already! You won't be disappointed :) -

Had Melissa do my makeup for my engagement photos recently and it was amazing. She really listened to what I wanted whether they were which colors to use, areas I wanted to bring out and those that I had wanted to cover. She also had a wide range of products to choose from.
She had recommended an excellent hair stylist Lynn. Although I did not hire Lynn for touch ups during the photoshoot, she walked over how to use hair accessories during the shoot to change up the looks.
Both Melissa and Lynn were very professional and punctual too. I would recommend them to my friends. -

I was so lucky to find Melissa for my wedding! She did an absolutely amazing job! For starters she was very easy to communicate with from day one and was beyond flexible and willing to meet me for a trial before my big day. She took her time with the trial and was very bubbly and personable during the trial appointment. She even gave me a very thoughtful goody bag!
Melissa was also very organized in helping me create a timeline for makeup and hair on my big day and made sure we allocated enough time for my bridesmaids, my mother and myself to get all dolled up. Everyone looked phenomenal! I was beyond happy and pleased with her work.

I am from east Africa and had a very traditional engagement party and my culture is very eclectic and we love colorful traditional clothes and Melissa was not short of amazing and patient with my whole tribe she is very talented and meticulous with her work and as a bride is suck relief to know someone is taking some of the burden off of you.i would recommend her to any bride who wants to feel like a million dollars . -

I hired Melissa to do my makeup for my wedding because her portfolio was impressive. She setup a consultation/trial for me in San Francisco FREE because I traveled to her, I was amazed! Nobody's trials are free. I loved loved loved my trial makeup & day of the wedding makeup! Melissa did an incredibly flawless job on me & my bridal party. Everyone was complimenting me all day, & well into the reception. I'm so thankful to have found Melissa, she is a Gem! I was recommended to Melissa by a friend who had used her services for her wedding a few years ago. I did a trial with Melissa and I was blown away by her amazing work! My skin looked flawless! She ended up doing myself and my entire bridal party for my wedding last year and we looked fabulous. I've never received so many wonderful compliments on my makeup before. She was extremely professional as well as so incredibly sweet and warm and definitely listened to our needs as well as voicing her professional advice. I searched everywhere you can imagine to find the perfect makeup artist for my wedding in December of 2014. I am so blessed to have been introduced to Melissa from a friend who has used her services in her wedding. The way she made my makeup look perfectly blended and my skin looked airbrushed with a radiant glow, it was phenomenal. There was no need to explain to her how I wanted my makeup application executed, she knows exactly what she's doing! With beautifully blended bridal shadows and flawless eyelash application, my look was timeless with pure elegance. She explained to me the types of foundation she uses for camera ready photos, the results were incredible. I'm truly grateful for Melissa, and I highly recommended this beauty makeup queen! -

Melissa is amazing. If you don't believe me, just look at her instagram and see her before and after. She does miracles! She makes your skin look flawless! I went to her for a trial and the results had me hire on the spot. I knew right away that she got exactly what I wanted and showed me more that I didn't know I can look like! I LOVED my trial and LOVED her even more on my wedding day. ALL of my bridesmaids, mom, and mother in law thought she was great! It's RARE for everyone in the bridal party to like their makeup and like is an understatement. They all wished they could bring Melissa everywhere they go. She's quick, very punctual, professional, and obviously talented. She came at like 6:30am all the way to almost 1:30pm and didn't take one break. She worked through without stopping and got everyone of us to the venue on time. I HIGHLY recommend her. If not, at least contact her to get a trial. I promise you'll absolutely love the results. Not worth it
It started out good BUT....I wish I can give a 0 star...I'm not usually the one to write a bad review. Usually I just leave things as is and move on because there's no reason to make anyone look bad/feel bad. But Melissa made me feel very bad for wanting the services that I need.
Initially, I was interested in hiring her because of her experience and her quick responses. It seems like she's a good person until I decided to go forward with another artist.
I needed 11 services to be done and she can only do 6 services max due to time restraint, which is understandable, but I found an artist who can fulfill my 11 service request so I'm not going to pay double the travel fee/early start time for 2 artists when I can go with one.
After I thanked Melissa for her time in helping me but that I've chosen to move forward with another artist. She sent me "Wow. Thank you for completely wasting my time! Best of luck to you!"
I'm so thankful I didn't go forward with her...so brides, don't waste your time with her. -
