Melisa and her team of 2 worked wonders during our wedding prep. They got 11 people's hair and makeup done in a supremely timely fashion, and I was beyond thrilled with how beautiful she made me look and feel. She is a master of color and highlights, and didn't make me feel like I was wearing spackle on my face even though I was wearing a considerable amount of makeup. We would definitely recommend Melisa and her crew for any of your beauty needs. You will be so thoroughly pleased with your results!

Wedding - A soft, but elevated classy look
Absolutely incredible!! Melisa was my hair and makeup artist for my wedding day which included 4 bridesmaids, 1 flower girl, 2 mothers, 1 grandparent. I was looking for someone who could work with curly/mixed hair styles, and when I found Melisa I was so excited! She was super wonderful and fun to work with, and super sweet! She was very helpful in helping create my final look, and it turned out beautifully! So many compliments! Both hair and makeup stayed put all night! Melisa was very detailed oriented and helpful in providing tips not only for the look for my wedding, but also for my everyday look.

Extremely Pleased with my Wedding Day Look
Melisa did me and my maid of honor’s makeup. I don’t typically wear makeup, and was insistent on a natural but glamorous look. Melisa did a fantastic job; I was very happy with the way things my makeup turned out. We had a trial session to figure out the look where I was able to provide some feedback. Melisa was able to create a beautiful look on myself, who has fair skin and straight hair, as well as my friends with a deeper skin tone and curly hair which I really appreciated. Everything about working Melisa was wonderful!!! From my initial conversations, my trial and my wedding day, everything went perfect. Melisa had a major injury prior to my trial and wedding day and she still delivered!! Absolutely unbelievable, and she’s super sweet with the most beautiful soul. Melisa did my hair and makeup for my weddings (we had two ceremonies over 2 days) and she was incredible! 'Didn't Know I Can Look Like That!' Type of feel
I am so happy I was able to find Melisa for my wedding day. I was crunching on time and thankfully Melisa responded very quickly to my email for a consultation. At the wedding preview, we talked over what ideas I may have for a look. She is very sweet and as a person that does not wear makeup all the time, she made me look fabulous!
Melisa came out to my location for the day of the wedding and got my entire wedding party ready. Everyone looked gorgeous! I am so happy with the way everyone looked and my makeup lasted all day! Melisa is amazing!!! Not only did she have me looking better than I could imagine on my wedding day she was a great addition to it. I had about three months to plan and prepare for my wedding. It was absolutely hectic- but finding and hiring Melisa was one of the easier (if not easiest) decisions I had to make! I found Melisa while Googling bridal hair/makeup stylists in the Dallas/East Dallas area. I found her Instagram and instantly fell in love with her fresh and natural style. I was so excited when she told me she was available for the date I needed. She worked with my schedule to fit a preview meeting in. The preview was honestly one of the reasons I was sold! On my wedding day, she was prompt and kept checking in with me to make sure I liked what she was doing. My bridesmaids and mother all loved their looks as well! I would highly recommend Melisa to anyone looking for a skilled makeup artist for your special event. I worked with Melisa for my wedding in February 2021. Melisa was professional, personable and listened to my ideas and feedback. Although I downsized my wedding to just immediate family, I still went with a professional makeup artist because I have adult acne (which gets worse from stress, yay perfect storm haha). Melisa did a great job covering it up and truly making me feel beautiful and not so insecure for the professional photos.
I had a great experience working with Melisa. In my preview session, we were able to discuss and nail down my vision. The day of, my Mom and I received our makeup and it was really nice to have one less thing to worry about on my big day (my ceremony space had no running water and some family members were driving to Dallas that morning due to the blizzard conditions from the days prior, but what's a wedding without some drama right?). I hope to work with Melisa again for my full-family-and-friends reception in February 2022!

Best makeup artist in the universe!!!
Melisa is AMAZING!!!! She did my hair and makep for my wedding and for my bridesmaids. During your makeup trial you start off by walking into her cute apartment and she offers you a drink (which I obviously accepted because I was super nervous!!) then you chit chat for a little bit getting to know each other better. She will then bring you into her heavenly makeup room and listen to your ideas and give her recommendations. For the actual day of your wedding she will come to you with ALL of the makeup, chairs and lighting. Let me just say that SHE IS A GOD WITH MAKEUP. I have never looked so amazing and flawless! She will blend her own foundation to match your skin tone and it’s perfection. Although she will have you looking your best, in the pictures it doesn’t look like you have a bunch of makeup on, it looks natural and you don’t look like a made up doll, instead you look like yourself. She is professional, kind, patient and a great listener. I will definitely use her for anything requiring professional makeup.

Melisa was nothing short of incredible. My wife and I hired her for our engagement photos and wedding and she did a great job on both the hair and makeup. She was professional and kept in constant contact with us and made sure that everything was exactly how my wife wanted. From her kindness to her work 5 stars are not enough! Melisa will be my go-to forever!
While Dallas is my hometown and where my then fiancé and I decided to get married, I had no idea how I was going to identify most of our vendors. I found Melisa on Instagram and we connect right from the start. Melisa made it her purpose to understand my vision and for that I will forever be grateful. She is extremely patient and accommodating. Alongside 13 bridesmaids and two mothers, Melisa assembled a team to tackle 16 different hair textures and makeup preferences. Oh and did I mention a bride who changed her hair style the day of?! I love Melisa to pieces! I pray that she will have availability for all of my future special occasions.

She is awesome! I flew from North Carolina to Dallas to do my makeup trail and Melisa greeted me with open arms. I had a great time and fell in love with how she did my makeup. I flew her from Dallas to Lubbock for my wedding.
On the morning of my wedding she showed up bright and early to set up( I actually think she was about 10 minutes early which was totally fine). She had a system and she followed it and everything went smoothly. I would like to take makeup lessons from her.
My bridesmaids absolutely loved her work!.

Melisa was able to make me feel like an absolute princess on my wedding day! I went in for a bridal trial hair and makeup and brought in quite a few pictures of what I was interested in as well as some of don’t do’s. For the makeup I was worried about having a caked look (however I noticed in her ‘before and after’ portfolio that NONE of the girls had that look so that is a big reason why I was interested in her services) and I also wanted to be sure my makeup would last all night. I ended up doing a touch up service which was great because in the TX heat during the ceremony I was concerned I would sweat it off - y’all that didn’t happen at all! We still did a quick touch up but other than that the only thing I had to reapply was my lipstick once! Amazing!
As for the hair she was awesome at helping me figure out how to get my headpiece the way I wanted it ! It last all night long as well and never had an issue with it falling or sliding around. Melisa also helped out by finding a third makeup/hair artist about a few weeks out from wedding because I was nervous about the time it would take so I wanted to add someone else - I never even had to worry she took care of getting someone else and thank goodness we did because we needed 3 artists for the 8 of us.
She was so sweet and easy to talk to and that truly made it a great experience as well! I still can’t thank her enough for helping me out with the little things the day of and for the sweet care package! A++ in my books! Highly recommend (:

Melisa was amazing. She is so sweet and fun to work with. I spent a little over my budget for all the hair and makeup for my wedding but every penny was well spent. Even from the trial run for my bridal hair and makeup, she was able to give me the look I wanted. Day of the wedding she was prompt and unruffled by the fact we were running late. She and her assistant were amazing and kept us entertained the whole time. I think we kept them entertained as well and they rolled with my quirky wedding party and made everyone look amazing. I can't wait to see all the pictures! I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone.

Melisa was truly wonderful from beginning to end! In the past I had only had my makeup done at department store counters and was never happy with the result. Wow! What a difference! Melisa is a true professional from beginning to end. She has an amazingly warm and friendly personality and she is truly interested in making your wedding day special. The process to book with her is seemless, electronic and easy. She took the time needed to get to know me as a bride including my style, personality and vision! She was so thorough! She had me to send pics of my makeup and hair inspiration and then we custom designed a look that was just for me. My trial was wonderful. After she finished I could not believe how great I looked. Who knew!?! I had a morning wedding with a 5:00 AM makeup start time and Melisa was at the door of my hotel room at 4:58 AM (not pulling into the parking lot, but at the door...ready to work!). I have received so many compliments on my hair and makeup and on my wedding day I truly felt like a beautiful princess. You will not go wrong with Melisa! Please hire her for your wedding so you can KNOW that you will have amazing hair and makeup.

Melisa and her assistant Crystal were incredible! My whole bridal party and I looked amazing thanks to these girls. I had 8 ladies in my bridal party and every single one of them had a different skin tone and skin type. Melisa and Crystal made sure to use the appropriate products on each attendant and although they made each person look gorgeous in their own way, they also made sure we all looked uniform and no one had a look that didn't coincide with everyone else's. All of my bridesmaid's have already said they are going to book Melisa for their weddings too. She is amazing!

Melisa did an amazing job on my birthday makeover!!! My makeup was flawless and although I generally have a hard time finding a color to match me, Melisa matches my color without a second thought! She was professional and pleasant and she's really just the sweetest person. She made me feel like a million bucks and I am looking forward to working with her again! I wish I had known her when I was planning my wedding because she would have been my first pic for makeup and hair ??!! Melisa provided the service for hair and makeup for both my bridal shower (bridal trial) and my wedding day. During my bridal trial, she was sure to ask all of the important questions so that she fully understood our wedding vision as well as my typical makeup style. She made the entire session a blast and afterwards, she followed up to ensure everything lasted all day for the bridal shower as I wanted - which it did to perfection!
On our wedding day, she brought out the best in me and all of my bridesmaids. Every single one raved about how glamorous they felt afterwards and they loved how natural it looked. Melisa really went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of and happy throughout the entire process. She understands the importance of the day for the bride and was there to make every loose hair, every detail perfect. With her, you know you're in good hands!

I curl my hair and it is flat one hour later. I expressed this to Melisa and she used some heavy duty spray, I guess, cause my hair stayed curled through my whole wedding reception! Thanks Melisa!

Melisa was a joy to work with! She was professional but personable and did a fantastic on my wedding day makeup and hair and also the makeup for my 6 bridesmaids. She was able to get all of us ready in time for us to go over to the ceremony for first-look and getting ready photos. She also arrived 15 minutes early to set up and got through all of the ladies in a quick and efficient manner. My ceremony was at 2:30pm so Melisa was bright and early at the hotel room at 5:45am and got through all of the girls with speed and no breaks! We were impressed and all of the girls' looks were consistent and flawless.
Melisa did a great job enhancing our features, not masking them. My husband commented on how natural it looked, and she did a great job of matching my skin tone so that it looked even. And the makeup lasted through tears, sweat, people rubbing my face, and also 12+ hours of wedding day activities. It still looked great even after I got home from the reception. I can not recommend her enough! Such a sweet lady and I look forward to using her services again in the future.

Ladies: Melisa is awesome! If you are looking for someone to do your hair and makeup for your wedding or any event then you need to book her! I just got married this past Saturday and Melisa made me look fabulous. We did not have time to do our bridal portraits and we used that session and replaced it with hair and makeup for my bachelorette party! I even have other friends wanting to book her. She will come out to you or can come out to her place off of 635 in Dallas.

I rated Melisa J all fives because there weren't any tens to select. Melisa J was more than a professional. It was like getting your makeup done by a professional friend. Some of my sisters never wear makeup and we're only doing it for me. The way she customized everyone's look was amazed to me. Not to mention that she made me the woman of the night! Recently, I treated myself to a one-on-one makeup lesson with Melissa J for my birthday. During this lesson Melissa created a fresh new look while helping me to feel confident in my day-to-day makeup routine. During this in depth lesson, she organized my makeup case and made several suggestions for products that would work well for me. I was able to ask many questions and practice techniques taught. Most importantly, my lesson was customized to my skill level and I was able to practice with Melissa’s guidance. By the end of my lesson, I was confident with the techniques taught to enhance my day-to-day glam look.

Melisa was great! She was very professional and also really nice. My makeup was flawless! I received compliments all night plus she gave me a few tips and pointers on daily makeup application. I will definitely use her again in the future.

I can not say enough good things about Melisa. She was absolutely amazing throughout the whole wedding planning process, even when we had a monkey wrench and had to switch the wedding date suddenly. I found her by sheer luck on a Facebook ad and I do not regret my decision to send her an e-mail. She did my makeup for the engagement photos, my bridal photos, and the wedding day and for each time she customized the look exactly how I wanted it. Not only is she a great makeup artist but she is a phenomenal person with a kind, gentle soul. After the wedding my husband was in a car wreck and has since been out of work, and she sent me a Christmas card wishing us well and for his speedy recovery and a freakin' awesome Urban Decay palate. Hire her. Use her for your wedding, corporate function, party, whatever you need your makeup done for. You won't regret it. LOVE HER.

Melissa was amazing!
Not only was she extremely sweet and stayed a bit longer to make sure my makeup was perfect after getting dressed and having my hair done, but she is extremely professional.
She did my mom's and maid of honor make up as well and they were also fascinated!

Melissa did an amazing job!!! She made my self and all my bridal party and moms look beautiful!!! She was right on time and as ready to work bright an early. Went in for a bridal trial and Melisa made exactly what I wanted come to life on my face! I was so pleased I booked for wedding day make up service. On the day of my wedding she arrived on time and was very professional. My make up looked perfect and I received tons of compliments all throughout the night! Definitely would recommend and use her again in the future for events.

I contacted Melisa via email and she replied within minutes explaining the process, pricing, recommendations, etc., she was very professional and sweet at the same time. I knew from the beginning that it was going to be a great experience. I met her twice - one for the bridal trial (highly recommended) where she asked me about my needs, expectations and also gave me some extra advice on everyday makeup, etc. and the second visit was on my wedding day... at the end of the session I looked AMAZING!!!!
I highly recommend Melisa - she is very professional… and most important, she LOVES what she does and put her heart in it!

My Melisa J Beauty experiences were absolutely wonderful. From day one when we first met via email Melisa was professional, responsive, attentive and incredibly sweet, and those qualities continued throughout three different makeup sessions -- once for my bridal trial and twice for my two ensuing weddings. She also did makeup for my mother and several bridesmaids, and we all looked amazing. Melisa listened to our needs and desires and found ways to bring those ideas to fruition without being overly heavy handed. Melisa is thorough but efficient (she takes her time, but none of us ever felt we were in the chair too long), prompt (she arrived on time for EVERY appointment) and just all around fabulous. For all my appointments she arrived at my home with her own lighting and the cutest piece of roller luggage with all her equipment. So fab! I can't speak highly enough about her. She is a PRO, and I plan to work with her again for future events. Hire Melisa J Beauty. You won't be disappointed!

Melisa was such a pleasure to work with. I wanted to learn how to put on my makeup to glam up my look so I scheduled a one on one session with her when she was in Tampa. She was very patient, extremely knowledgable and made me feel like I was having a girl's night out but with make-up. Melisa allowed me to ask questions and she had notes ready for me to take home. I looked gorgeous for my date night and since my one on one lesson with her, I have received nonstop comments on my makeup! I plan to have another one on one with her when she is back in town. I have a show on YouTube and I typically do my own makeup because I like the "natural" look and many MUA don't have the right "touch" to effortlessly do a wide range of looks. I can not sing your praises enough! Dallas you are very fortunate that she has just moved to your area. Take advantage! Melisa followed up with me every few weeks prior to the event just to see how I was doing, o send me a few ideas, or to see if my vision for how i wanted to changed. Melisa is thorough! she will not leave you feeling lost, and she is skilled! If you want to look like you just came out of the circus, she is not for you. Melisa is an amazing make-up artist! Not only is she great at what she does, she is very professional. She was on-time, and even beat me to my own venue! She was very friendly, understanding and interactive with me and my girls.
Weeks up until the wedding, she made great effort to be in touch with me to discuss details for my wedding day look and timeline. She was always responsive and called when she said she would.
Overall, Melisa helped me feel beautiful for my groom. I told her I wanted to look polished and didn't want to be unrecognizable by my fiance. I normally don't wear make up on a day to day basis, and she made me feel so comfortable that I forgot I was even wearing make up at some point. She stayed with me up until my walk down the aisle to ensure my tears weren't ruining the beautiful work she had done. I'm so happy I was able to book her, and thanks to Melisa, I can't wait to show off all of my wedding photos!

Extremely professional, upon prompt arrival sat and discussed what look was I trying to achieve, my preferences and dislikes. Melisa took the time to explain each product that she was applying to my face and it's purpose. Not only did Melisa discuss and explained the product she also demonstrated how to apply as a "lay" person. The transformation was absolutely stunning!!! I first came to Mel needing a makeup consult for a wedding that I would be in. I was so taken back by her patience and knowledge concerning my role and makeup appearance as a bridesmaid. I have problem skin and uneven skin tone I felt as though my concerns and questions were heard and she was sensitive towards my skin imperfections, and thorough In her responses towards my needs. On the day of the big event I was totally blown away with her flexibility to see me earlier than scheduled and precision to what I needed for that day.
