We truly could not have asked for a better photographer. Kim is extraordinarily generous, carries a peaceful presence (which you want during such a high energy, sometimes chaotic time), and does absolutely STUNNING work. Kim makes you feel comfortable right away and brings such JOY as she cultivates space for you and your partner to be captured on film during some of your most precious, intimate, joyful moments. The engagement session with her was phenomenal. She was creative, made us feel so comfortable, and had a way of directing us while also drawing out who we truly are. She is SO talented. Having Kim capture the day of our wedding was the most special. She was supportive, at ease, and captured the most precious moments. When we received our wedding album I think I looked at the photos for a few hours straight haha. I was in awe of her work and so grateful for her eye for the big moments and also the small details. Advice for couples: you DEFINITELY want to go with DavidAnn. Kim and Noah feel like long time friends upon your first meeting and their presence is warm and embracing. They make you feel instantly loved, comfortable, and really special. They draw out the best and beauty of you and your partnership, and then capture it for you to savor and enjoy forever. 10 out of 10, 5 stars for this team. -

Versatile, professional, highly recommend
We go back to our wedding photos again and again and every time some new detail that Kim and Noah captured stands out to us! They went above and beyond with our specific requests; they beautifully captured our orchard venue from the smallest details like apple-laden trees to portraits of people we love to the gorgeous Mt. Hood off in the distance. Our families were delighted with the larger group photos as well and they can be picky! This team is versatile and really knows their stuff. Noah did a fantastic job on our professional wedding video as well! Choose this team, it is clear that they love what they do and they made us feel at ease as an otherwise camera-shy couple. We highly recommend DavidAnn. -

It was an unparalleled experience! Kim was warm and humorous. She always makes people feel relaxed and gives great advice. This undoubtedly weakens the tension of "I'm taking pictures." Noah is Kim's working partner, and they are also married for many years. My husband and I are both shy people. During the shooting, Kim and Noah will actually show us how to pose and look better. This is so convenient! I love couple photographers so much. What touched me the most was that Kim and Noah came to take pictures of us early in the morning and stayed with us until dark. I believe that they must be exhausted, but they still show a professional and friendly attitude. I love them so much! -

We cannot say enough good things about Kim and Noah. I fell in love with their photography style, but my husband was comforted with our initial phone conversation with them. When we decided to hire them, Kim seemed more excited than we were! This is a couple you immediately feel at ease with and want to be friends with, something we valued in the photographers that are going to capture such an intimate time. The final photographs were authentic and beautiful and evoke such strong happy memories from our wedding day. Thank you Kim and Noah! We can't wait to do another shoot with you one day! -

I absolutely love Kim and Noah. They take special care and pride with each of their couples. They take time to learn their story and get to know them more. They have excellent people skills and maintain professionalism. They have a great eye for detail and lighting. I love that they enjoy adventure and like to have fun in their sessions. We had an amazing time in our engagement shoot. And I am soo looking forward to having them be a part of our wedding. -

Our experience with Kim and Noah was so amazing! From the first conversation they were so excited and enthusiastic about our day! Once we officially booked, they were so helpful in sending us questionnaires of sample timelines to look over with our coordinator, lists of items to bring or shots, and even asking all of the shots we would throughout the day in case we had any special requests, which I really appreciated! On the day of the wedding we had several changes in locations for things and being behind schedule and they were so graceful and patient with all of the changes and still gave so much time to getting the shots we wanted, even helping us pick our first look location! Both of them have such a calming presence in the midst of an usually hectic day, I loved having them around and admired the intentionality they brought to our photos!! I would totally recommend them for any wedding! -

I cannot recommend Mela-Photo strongly enough!!! My partner Matt and I experienced a couples photoshoot with Kim and her husband Noah in July.
Kim chose an absolutely STUNNING outdoor location for our shoot. She had specifically chosen the location with us in mind; it wasn't a "go-to" for her. (Talk about making us feel special!) We felt very relaxed during the session, as if we were just hanging out with friends. Kim was great at directing our movements. It was clear she saw the images in her head and did whatever she could to bring them to life.
Not only was the photoshoot itself fun and easy, the edited photos we received afterward blew us away! The lighting and tone of the photos was BEYOND what we expected. She captured both the epic, expansive backdrop and the gentle, beautiful details. I am still impressed every time I look at them. I wasted no time in getting prints made to proudly display in our home.
Kim is a masterful artist and a kind soul. You will have no regrets in booking her for your photos - only amazing images that you will cherish for life. -

From the first interaction Kim was so responsive and helpful. She helped create a package in my budget, talked me through outfits, and was flexible about locations when we were due to have a snow storm. It was like texting a friend.
Day of, her and Noah were so nice (and the pleasant surprise of a second shooter was amazing) and we felt very comfortable. We were unsure how we were going to pose and be cute, but she gave us great direction and made it so easy. My fiancé, who was pretty indifferent about photos, even said it was fun and he was glad we did it. She got our edited photos back to us even earlier than she said she would, and they were beyond wonderful. She braved the cold and got all the snowy pictures I dreamed of. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Noah and Kim were so much fun and were so thankful for the images they captured for us. Right from the start they were easy to work with - we ended up having to change our date and location and they were able to be flexible and work around our busy schedules. Before our shoot Kim helped me with suggestions on what to wear / bring and just overall put me at ease with every conversation. I was nervous that my non photo loving fiance would be uncomfortable but fast forward to our engagement shoot day and we couldn't have been happier with this duo. Noah and Kim right away feel like long time friends. The conversation was easy and we never felt awkward or uncomfortable which is so important because now that we have our gallery back you can see we are relaxed and at ease. We were so thankful to be able to bring our dog along and loved how Kim and Noah interacted with our pup but also that they gave us the perfect mix of photos of just the two of us and then with our dog included. We were able to go to multiple locations and Kim kept things moving along perfectly so we were never bored or tired holding the same pose / location / position. Our images are beautiful and we will cherish them forever. We can't wait to work with them again on our wedding day. If you are looking for a relaxed, comfortable, non-stuffy/pretentious couple who will rock your day, you've found your dream team. Thank you so much Kim and Noah! -

Calm, collected, talented and kind
Kim and Noah were so easy to communicate and plan with. Their experience helped provide insight into my wedding timeline that was invaluable. It may sound silly but I was feeling a lot of weird pressure to impress our photographers (everything always looks so perfect on social media so how could I possibly accomplish perfection on one of the most hectic days of my life?!). Kim and Noah were so personable and understanding that anxiety melted away and my husband and I had what felt more like a fun hang out session with two really cool people who happened to be taking our pictures. I was really lucky to find Mela Photo kind of last minute and I am so, so thankful they had our day available. All of our friends and family are absolutely in love with our photos (as are we OF COURSE). My best friend said our photos are the best wedding photos she's seen and I am inclined to agree. Thank you Kim and Noah from Reid and Savanah. -

She and her husband took pictures for our wedding and I was absolutely in love with the result! They are so elegant and beautiful, but still reveal exactly who my husband and I are as a couple.

Ashley Sent on 07/11/2018After struggling to find an affordable photographer with a phenomenal portfolio, I came across Kim with MELA Photo. After speaking with her about options and viewing her past work, I knew she would be perfect. Throughout the planning process she was responsive and helpful and thorough. When she arrived at our venue the day of our wedding she was very professional and even brought an apprentice shooter with her (extra photos!!!). She stuck with everything we wanted and followed the timeline great. We just got our photos back and I am blown away and crying tears of joy! There is no reason not to pick this very talented lady to capture those very important moments of your life :) THANK YOU KIM!!

Working with her on styled shoots and at a wedding was easy, fun, and the quality of photographs delivered were incredible! As a wedding planner and designer I love working with kind, creative, and flexible people. Mela is all of that!! Kim approaches each event with so much joy and gives it her all. She loves her clients deeply and instantly becomes your vendor bff. -
Milena Sent on 09/06/2018We found Kim through Wedding Wire. After the initial email we sent her asking about availability, pricing, etc., she responded quickly, within 24 hours. We liked that she was willing to do a phone or video call since we were not living in the Northwest. What we liked from her work is that we felt she captured candid moments effortlessly and she had experience with shooting different religious/ethnic weddings. We liked that she also edited the shots accurately and didn't dull any colors and captured the happiness that we felt after the wedding ceremony and during the reception. We also loved that she found a great location for our couple's portraits after we said we wanted a more foresty feel.
There were two things that we wish could have been different. First, the area of where the ceremony happened was pretty busy with other people. We wish Kim or someone else would have cleared the background of people not involved in our wedding. Second, we wish that we had more pictures of small family groups (e.g. us with the family of our siblings). However, we think that was mostly on us because we could've written specific small family group shots as a request in our questionnaire. I even recall her asking us before we left the ceremony location if there were any other shots that we would like for her to take...you can already imagine how we were thinking of a lot of other things and at the moment, we didn't even think of the small family groups. So, my advice as a bride is to make sure you write down All the group shots you want down in the questionnaire because it will completely slip your mind the day of!
All in all, we recommend her! She is fun, nice, and understands your personality quickly. She is a great photographer and it is clear that she loves her work! -
