Mel was recommended to us by a friend and we are so glad that we chose her! For two people who would rather be behind the camera rather than in front of it, she made us feel so comfortable. She was adaptable to any photos we wanted and even offered to drive further than usual just to accommodate us with our engagement photo location! Her expertise is evident when you look through her catalogue! Response times are quick and even turn around times on the photos exceeded our expectations! We are SO thankful we found her and plan to use her for our photo adventures in the future! -

My husband and I got married 10/22/22 down by the water in Bristol. Mel was our choice for both our engagement shoot and our wedding and I am so happy with her work. We love her style and her ability to capture true emotion on both our faces and those of our guests. We signed up for a package with an engagement shoot and a 2nd shooter for 8 hours. Her and her 2nd shooter took many candid photos of guests and after the fact my family spoke highly of how they had never known she was there taking photos and of her professionalism. I recommend Mel to anybody getting married or doing a regular photoshoot. She was even able to crack a smile on my stoic husband :) Just ordered some prints and can't wait for them to come in. -

If you are looking for the BEST photographer there is- look no further because MEL COLVIN IS IT!!!! My husband and I got married May 2022 and Mel captured our day better than I could have ever imagined. She is the most kind, talented, thoughtful, organized person I have ever met. She made sure she did everything in her power to make sure we felt comfortable and our day was as stress free as possible. We put together a timeline and list of photos we absolutely wanted, to ensure we captured everything and nothing was forgotten or missed on the day of in the middle of everything going on. Her work and editing? ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. I’ve gotten so many compliments on our photos. I could go on for hours raving about Mel!!!! She is just the absolute best in the industry! -

Mel was my wedding photographer through three cancelled covid dates. We finally were married on September 25th. The customer service with Mel is rivaled by her amazing photographic eye. My biggest problem now is that I want to have prints of ALL of my photos - ALL of them. She has made it virtually impossible to narrow down! From getting ready to end these photos are pure MAGIC! I have to say I am very hard to please with my photos, I am critical of myself and just a tough critic on poses etc. If she can MORE than please me CONSISTENLY from Engagement Portraits to Family Portraits to Wedding photos - trust me she is unmatched!
Her spirit is who you want around you always never mind the day of and that to me is just as important as the prints. She was not just my photographer she was part of my day and really our story. You can't put a price or give a number of stars for that.. that, is priceless. She is, simply put, THE BEST. -

My husband and I heard about Mel through many different friends and family members who highly recommended her. After looking at photos both on her Instagram and on her website, we knew right away we had to book her for our own wedding. She is, hands down, one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding. Mel was super responsive, flexible, friendly and incredibly easy and fun to work with. My husband and I will cherish our photos forever. We cannot recommend Mel enough for your big day!

Mel and her assistant were absolutely amazing and our pictures from the wedding were absolutely beautiful and captured so many moments that we will cherish forever. We laughed, and we cried just looking at the pictures bringing back so many special moments and seeing so much emotion And LOVE in every picture. A picture is worth a thousand words is so true, and Mel just nailed it!!! I can't say enough, but trust me she is the best you will not regret booking her for any of your needs. -

My husband and I got married in May 2021 and could not have asked for anyone better to have captured our special day! We were working with Mel before COVID and even with all the stress of changing our wedding date 3 times AND changing our venue she made the process so smooth. On top of that she was EXTREMELY responsive, answering calls, texts and emails. On the day of the wedding she was amazing as well as her assistant! They totally made the process go by efficiently and we didn’t miss a shot. Even with some bumps in the road on the big day Mel and her team kept their cool which in turn gave us peace of mind. Mel was an absolute PLEASURE to work with for my wedding this past November. Her business came highly recommended from a work colleague who had also used her wedding photography services and I am so so glad that were able to book with her. Mel is incredible easy to work with. She has great presence, is very fun and easy going and extremely professional. I've followed her instagram page and her facebook photography page and I love how she interacts with her clients and posts updates on her beautiful work.
When we had to change up our whole wedding due to Covid, Mel was very responsive and again so easy to work with. She made the entire process of switching venues effortless. You will absolutely not regret having Mel or her team with you on your special day or any day. Also, shoutout to Mel's assistant who was also a pleasure to work with. She was very friendly and easy going and the two together made for a great pair.
Beyond Mel being a great person and someone you would be happy to have with you on your special day, she takes AMAZING photos. I was in love with our engagement photos so I knew our wedding photos would also be great, but I was in shock. They were so so beautiful!!! She knows exactly how to capture the light, make poses seem natural and effortless and find the perfect backdrops. I mean the photos were absolutely stunning, I don't have words for how great they turned out!! Im in love. I have already recommended her services to my close friends and will definitely plan on using her in the future for any family or maternity portraits and shoots without any hesitation. Working with Mel was a truly magical experience. She is professional, flexible, understanding, kind, and firm when she needs to be! She was nothing but understanding when I forgot about our engagement photo session and had to reschedule day of. She worked with us through COVID and changed our package as needed throughout the whole experience. She was one person I knew I could count on throughout the wedding planning process. Being a COVID bride was one of the more stressful times in my life, and Mel helped me not only get through it, but enjoy it. I cannot thank her enough. She is truly one of a kind. Also, forgot to mention the photos were like nothing I had ever seen before! They were the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen! She caught the most precious moments that were not planned, like when my husband popped the champagne and I jumped out of my boots! And now we will never forget those small moments because of the picture she was able to capture! -

I couldn’t be happier with our photos from our wedding day! I was worried since it rained a little but Mel took that and ran with it and the outcome was some of the most GORGEOUS photos I’ve ever seen! My husband even said if we ever move away and need photos done, we are flying Mel out to us!! Thank you Mel we love you!

I've been waiting to write Mel a review since I met her, but I wanted to wait till our engagement photos, and then again till our wedding photos! So to start when I first went to meet Mel and have our first meeting I LOVED her! She answered all of my questions, showed me her work and made me feel so comfortable I left there feeling 100% confident she would capture every special moment of our wedding day! After we had our engagement photos with her that just assured me again our wedding photos would be amazing, because our engagement photos came out so perfect they were just what we wanted and as a bonus she made us look awesome and very comfortable, I loved how she told us what poses to do and kept the session running smoothly. She also was very accommodating on having an online gallery with select photos ready for me in time for me to order our invitations. And now to bring you to our wedding day, it went so smoothly having Mel and her assistant capture every moment of our wedding. The day went by so fast but having them there capturing it I was so confident in them getting all the shots for us to remember. Mel showed up on time where us girls were getting ready and dealt with the craziness of us running around finishing getting ready and she also was so great taking all of our formal photos and being so patient with my big family and young kids in them. I am so grateful for her and how great she was! And we love love our photos so far from her sneak peek and cannot wait to see the rest!! Thank you so much Mel!? -

Everyone loved my engagement and wedding photos and commented how they didn't even realize that she was there. Her super ninja skills made for some awesome candid shots. She is officially my photographer for life!
