The Perfect Ceremony Addition

Finding Meghan online through others’ reviews was a blessing! We knew that we wanted live music to precede and follow our wedding ceremony, and we hoped to find a local Harpist to fit the bill, and we are so glad we found Meghan!

She was very quick to respond to our original inquiry via text message, when she confirmed her availability, asked a few information gathering questions, and then provided pricing details. Without hesitation, we signed a contract and got to work on our song selections based on her online repertoire. Since it took a long time to listen to each song and figure out what kind of song each one was, it would be helpful if the list had details like “common processional” or “funerary ballad” to help categorize the choices.

For that reason, we especially appreciated the opportunity to have a call to discuss song selections, including what would fit our vibe and vision, approximately three months before our big day. She was very helpful and accommodating. After that, we decided what specific songs needed to be played at what specific times, and then we provided a final list of selections to Meghan.

A few weeks before our wedding, Meghan was good to check in and confirm our selections as well as her arrival time. We were glad that she would be bringing everything she would need to play, like a chair, music stand, extra strings, etc.

On our wedding day, it was such a beautiful experience to arrive at our ceremony venue and hear her playing. Every single guest was impressed by Meghan’s abilities, commending our choice to hire her! Next time, we’ll add the cello, too.

Meghan is wonderful!

Meghan absolutely blew me away! We had the harp/cello duet, and Meghan did some special arrangements for our day that brought tears to my eyes. We had a short ceremony, and my only regret is that we wish we could have listened to her for longer! Her arrangements were the icing on the cake to a wonderful ceremony. She was awesome and a blast to work with for our special day!

Best decision ever

I can't say enough about how much I loved having Meghan at my wedding. It was one of my favorite things about my wedding. She played for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Everyone loved it and they loved that Meghan knew modern songs! I highly highly highly recommend Meghan :)

Highly recommend!

I initially wasn't going to incorporate a harpist for our ceremony but I'm so glad that I did. Meghan was so easy and professional to work with and developed exactly what we wanted for our ceremony music. She made the moment so much more special and meaningful. I highly recommend her and am so glad that I found her!

Delightful

Meghan was very professional, had a clear contract that covered everything. She followed exactly our requests and the feel we were looking for, and worked with us ahead of time to make sure everything went smoothly at the wedding. Our guests loved the music as well as the picture such a beautiful instrument makes. I will definitely look for another event where I can use her again.

Memorable and Beautiful Ceremony Music

I was so excited to have her perform our ceremony music. She played beautifully and even was able to compose and play a song that meant a lot to my husband and I. She was very collaborative and consulted with us early and allowed us to personalize the musical experience as much as possible. Can't thank her enough!

Wonderful Wedding Harpist!

Meghan is an amazing harpist. She provided the music for our ceremony and it was truly wonderful. Her music provided the perfect ambiance for our outdoor ceremony at Stone Tower Winery. She has a wide selection of songs at her disposal which made it easy to find one's we wanted for each part of our ceremony. It was a pleasure to have her be a part of our wedding. We would highly recommend her to anyone!

Perfection

Meghan played at my wedding on 10/20. Although my timeline was off she adapted and played beautifully. I was lucky that the ceremony was at a private residence and I was able to hear her beautiful music while I was finishing getting ready. My guests all loved her and complimented her style and way of playing. Thank you for playing so beautifully. I will remember it forever.

Meghan was such an amazing harpist. I’m so glad I decided to go with her for my ceremony/cocktail hour music. All my guests commented how beautiful her playing was as well as her singing. She even learned to play Ed Sheeran’s song “Perfect” because I requested it for my walk down the aisle. I would recommend her services for any type of event: wedding, cocktail party, office party, Christmas party her singing/playing will set whatever mood you’re trying to achieve.

Meghan is an incredibly talented harpist and just amazing to work with. We found that our final budget allowed us to work with a ceremony musician at the very last minute and although our timeline was tight, Meghan was very accommodating and worked quickly to ensure that our music selection and the arrangements for her performance were locked in for the big day. Her repertoire is incredibly well-rounded, she plays everything from classical to contemporary pieces and we were so thrilled with our music selection. Our guests were in awe of how beautiful the harp sounded during the ceremony and cocktail hour and raved about her performance. I would say that hiring Meghan was one of the best and most memorable choices we made that big day, since the music was extremely moving and just added such a special touch to the ceremony. We are so thankful that she was willing to work with us and I highly recommend her to anyone in need of live musical accompaniment for a wedding!

I cant recommend meghan enough. She is a truely talented musician and a very kind person. Meghan played for my wedding and cocktail hour at my home and was very accomedating to the song requests I made and changing her location when all the guests moved indoors. If you want to add some musical romance to your wedding, you can rely on meghan.

I absolutely love Meghan! She is such a professional and such a beautiful harpist. She is so easy to work with and she responds extremely fast and is open to any and all requests. My husband really wanted a harpist and we were able to book her last minute which I could not be happier with. Meghan was so professional and easy to work with. We first heard her and the cellist perform at a friend's wedding in 2015, and we loved the tone and ambiance that the harp and cello duo created. When we got engaged a few months later, we knew we had to hire her, and she was one of the first vendors that we booked! We received lots of compliments from our family and friends about how wonderful our ceremony music was. Meghan played as guests were arriving, during the ceremony, and the entire cocktail hour. I absolutely loved working with Meghan. She helped us hone our vision for our ceremony music, and came up with wonderful custom arrangements. We had her play music before our ceremony and sing and play one song during it as well. I didn't get to hear much before the ceremony but during my walk down the aisle and as I was listening to her sing during the ceremony, I was so happy we picked Meghan! I had Meghan to perform at my ceremony. She was fantastic to work with from start to end. I wanted them to learn to play a song from my ethnic background. I sent Meghan the mp3 and she got it perfectly! She sent me a recording of the arrangement and made changes as I asked. She was very flexible and went back and forth with my requests patiently. On the day, she was there and set up almost an hr in advance. They sounded and looked great! Im so happy I went with Meghan, not to mention she was one of the best qoutes I got! All in all, an excellent choice, don’t hesitate to book them!

Meghan is by far one of the most professional people with whom I have ever worked. She was incredibly responsive through the entire process. She was also a tremendous help in making our music selections and she learned a new song for us too! She was on time on the day of our wedding and everything went according to plan. She was appropriately dressed for the occasion and we received many compliments on Meghan and on her playing (as well as that of the cellist that accompanied her). Working with Meghan could not have gone any more perfectly, she was absolutely fantastic. It's been a year since I got married and I am just now getting around to reviewing my vendors (I know, horrible)!!!! The first one I wanted to come to was Meghan Kathleen Davis! She is amazing! Talking to her on the phone about what I wanted in a ceremony was so easy, she is literally the sweetest person I've ever talked to. She is super professional and quite reasonably priced. My husband and I were on a tight budget for our wedding. But even so, I would've paid more for Meghan! Her skills are impeccable. Everyone still raves about what a lovely job she did for our wedding! She played for all of the guests while they were being seated and for our ceremony I had her play Your Song for when the mom's walked in, Can't help falling in love for my bridesmaids, A Thousand Years for when I walked down the aisle, and Here Comes the Sun for the processional. Highly highly recommend using Meghan for your ceremony music! I would request her services for any events in the future!

We booked Meghan her cellist for our ceremony. I wanted different music for the ceremony than for the reception and a harpist was the way to go. It made the ceremony feel more formal than just the quick hit before the party. Meghan was great to work with. She learned a new song for us that wasn't already in her very extensive repertoire. She already knew "Part of Your World" for my bridesmaids to enter in the ceremony with. I was nervous about being able to hear the harp and cello during the outdoor ceremony, but they sounded perfect; loud enough for everyone to hear!

Absolutely amazing and wonderful addition to our wedding. Being from Wales where the harp is the national instrument my family all loved the music! The cello was also a beautiful addition. I cannot wait to get my wedding video to hear all the songs that they played as I was tucked away while guests were arriving. Meghan was super responsive to my emails, texts and calls. She learned a new song for us which was a must have at our wedding. I unfortunately never got to meet her in person, but I did give her a wave while we were doing our photos! Even though we never met, I felt super comfortable working with her. She was very professional and her music is really spectacular. I would strongly recommend her to anyone looking for a special addition to their ceremony. Pricing was very reasonable and she was superb to work with!

Meghan was absolutely fantastic! Exceptional response time to every concern or question of ours, wonderful attitude, and phenominal work. She started our day and set the tone to it with true magic. Our ceremony timeline got a bit messed up but Meghan was quick to adjust at the hint of a change. My wife and I had Meghan and Alex perform at our wedding in May 2016. They were an absolute pleasure to work with and performed spectacularly at our ceremony. From the beginning, Meghan was so easy to work with and very flexible to meet our requests. She even wrote an arrangement to allow our close friend to sing during our ceremony. My daughter is very fond of the harp and harp music so as a wedding gift i hired Meghan to perform at her wedding ceremony. We couldn't have been more pleased! She was very pleasant to work with through the entire process from beginning to end as well as accommodating with special selections that my daughter wanted to hear. Meghan was very professional during the ceremony and very aware of what was going on at all times in case she needed to stop playing without us saying a word. She played beautifully and the selections were so good that often i would hear some of the guest singing along! We all loved having her there and she was an excellent addition to our event which raised the bar of the ceremony!

Working with Meghan was a wonderful experience. She was an absolute professional from start to finish. We hired Meghan to play at both our wedding ceremony (in a church) and our cocktail hour (at a golf resort) in early April 2016. Meghan literally set the tone for our day – elegant, beautiful, uplifting and calming music. 3 things stood out to me about Meghan: 1) She responded very promptly to my emails. 2) When my fiancé’s grandmother unexpectedly arrived 25 minutes late for our ceremony, Meghan continued to play for that extra time without issue which made the time pass more quickly for our guests. 3) A couple weeks before the wedding, I requested that Meghan sing “Ave Maria” (not just play it) during the lighting of the Unity Candle. She has an incredible voice to accompany her beautiful harp skills! I’m thrilled we made that last minute decision. Many guests remarked how beautifully she played and continued to comment in the days after our wedding. I recommend Meghan to anyone and would hire her again in a heartbeat!

Meghan was amazing, she was the most memorable part of what turned out to be what our family and friends described as the best wedding they had ever attended. I absolutely love the Harp and it was my dream to have it at my wedding. When I say we were blessed and honored to have Meghan at our wedding playing the harp as beautifully as she does is an understatement. She was definitely one of the highpoints of our ceremony and reception. She plays beautifully. I would highly recommend her for any type of event. Meghan and Alex provided the music for my son's wedding in May of 2014 and for my daughter's wedding in September of 2015. I can't say how wonderful Meghan was to work with. I was already familiar with her talents, which are extraordinary. Meghan's website has a large selection of songs, which made it easy for us to pick out 'non-standard' songs for the services. It's great to see things like Saint-Saen's 'The Swan' and DeLibe 'Flower Duet from Lakme', both of which we used. Equally impressive is the list of about 2 dozen audio samples of her playing. How many singers are able to perform 3 different Ave Maria's??
Also impressive is Meghan's willingness to arrange and learn a new piece, which helped us to personalize the ceremony.
The people in attendance were flabbergasted by her performance. When she played and sang the Ave Maria, people were mesmerized. I received many high compliments after the ceremony, which made my daughter's wedding that much more memorable.

Meghan and Alex (Cello) Thank you so much for playing our October wedding ceremony. It was perfect. I (Groom) loved listening to the music as I waited around the corner and it was calming yet added the perfect touch of elegance. The music from the harp and cello was a great combination to set up the rest of the night! They had a wide range of songs that we selected from a couple of classics to movie/tv show themes to add some lightness and to keep our guests guessing which type of beautiful song would come next. Their cover of "Trumpet Voluntary" as our Bride Entrance song, had us both emotional as I saw my fiancee and as to how beautiful she was, and their music enhanced the moment as she progressed down the aisle. Thank you for etching that image with music to my memory.
So many guests commented after the ceremony as to how exquisite the music was while they waited before the ceremony start, during and on our departure. I wish I could have made a CD of the set we selected.
It was our best vendor service and experience we selected. I would highly recommend they play your wedding or corporate holiday event/party.

Meghan played at our casual outdoor wedding reception on September 26th. She was very flexible, especially considering she had to transfer the harp from her vehicle all the way across a grassy yard to where she would be sitting! The guests all enjoyed listening to her play and it was the perfect background music for our celebration...not too loud, but still enough to be heard and add to the ambiance. She played a wide range of songs, from classical during the ceremony to fun and upbeat during the reception. Meghan was easy to work with and always responded to me quickly. I would highly recommend her.

We highly recommend Meghan Kathleen Davis on the harp and her husband on the cello for ceremonies and cocktail parties. We used them for the outdoor ceremony and indoor cocktail party at the wedding. They are accomplished musicians, tailored the musical pieces appropriately to keep with the timing of the ceremony, stuck with our predetermined program and their appearance was absolutely elegant. They were a real compliment to our wedding, and added to the atmosphere at the ceremony and the cocktail hour. They provided beautiful music to the guests walking toward the entrances to the pond where the ceremony took place and wafted music down to those seated below. Plus, they were a pleasure to deal with in making arrangements during the pre-wedding day period, even when we had to switch to a different venue located 70 miles from the original one. Meghan and her husband, who accompanies her on cello, even learned to play a piece we wanted that was outside of their repertoire, and they did it superbly. You will not be disappointed if you decide to retain Meghan and her husband for your wedding.

Detailed Review: Meghan was an absolute delight to work with on the music for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour at the Inn at Leola Village! From our very first email exchanges and meetings to post-wedding communications, she was professional, kind, flexible, extremely easy to communicate with, and above all, an amazing harpist and vocalist. Her harp music selections and special requests pulled our Celtic-themed wedding together beautifully. Meghan took the time to get to know my fiance and I before the wedding, worked with us to select traditional as well as unique, custom arrangements for songs that were very special to us and our families, Her repertoire is beyond impressive--from Bach and Beethoven to the Beatles and Adele, Meghan found arrangements for songs not in her regular repertoire and adapted them to the harp. For a very reasonable extra fee, she even custom-arranged several songs for us, including one song by our favorite Scottish folk group, Runrig, that she played and sang during our ceremony. We were so impressed with Meghan after our first meeting that we decided to have her play just the harp during our entire cocktail hour too, which included "The Skye Boat Song," the theme from the recently-popular TV show, Outlander. (This also saved us money on hiring a DJ for just the reception music!) We received so many compliments about Meghan from family and friends at our wedding too. We give our highest recommendation to anyone seeking beautiful harp music and singing for a once-in-a-lifetime or every day event. You will not be disappointed! Thank you, again, Meghan! I hire Meghan to play at my daughter's Bridal Shower on Saturday, May 21st. She was very accommodating from day one when I call her. We e-mail and talk several times. We hired Meghan along with the cello duet to play our wedding ceremony. We were looking for something different musically for our ceremony. We couldn't have made a better decision in hiring her.

Meghan's skills on the harp are of the highest quality. She is extremely professional and very easy to work with, helping us put together a great selection of music for our ceremony. As an added bonus, she was able to learn the Game of Thrones theme song (a favorite show of ours!) which we had her play while our guests were arriving. It sounded amazing on the harp and cello together!

Choosing the right vendor was the most time consuming part of our wedding planning. We had to qualify three different DJ’s, three florist, and six different wedding venues. For the most part, you rely on customer reviews and good judgment in selecting a vendor. Choosing Meghan Davis as our harpist was the easiest and the best decision we’ve made for our wedding. Initial communication with Meghan over the phone and via e-mail made us very comfortable right away. We knew from the get go that she was the right one. She’s very professional. She’s prompt. She’s beautiful and accommodating. She independently worked with our wedding coordinator to setup her instrument on the day of the wedding. She played a rendition of A Thousand Years from Christina Perry during the ceremony and she owned it. It was beautiful. We received multiple compliments from our guests and family during and after the wedding. We were very happy that we made the right choice. These are all 5.0's and there is a reason why. Meghan is not only a very talented harpist but also a professional in her work. I gave her a laundry list of songs which she helped me pick out the best for each part of my ceremony, learned all of them and then played them all exceptionally well. Meghan’s music provided beautiful atmosphere for our spring wedding in Princeton, NJ. We first touched base with her several months before our big day, and she always responded, whether by phone or email, in a timely and professional manner. Her music was amazing!! All of our guests loved hearing her harp during our ceremony and cocktail hour. In addition, Meghan went out of her way to learn and perform a couple of our nontraditional requests that had sentimental meanings for us and our family, and her performance of the “classic” wedding choices that we requested were phenomenal as well. She is one of the area’s best, and a true artist that should be considered by anyone looking to provide an event with wonderful harp music.

I was searching for a harpist to play during my wedding ceremony and came across Meghan Davis. Since we lived about an hour or so away we did all our communication through emails or phone calls and she was always quick to respond. I was also hoping to have someone play the flute along with the harp and when I told her this she was able to find someone for us! She did an excellent job playing at our ceremony and we got lots of compliments on the music. When I had asked her to play a couple of pieces that were not listed on her page she found those pieces and learned them. She was very easy to work with and it was stress free (which is what brides need when it's getting close to their big day!) I cannot say enough good things about her!

Meghan was a hit at our wedding! The beautiful serenading harp played during the ceremony and continued into cocktail hour. She also played and sang Ava Maria and was simply beautiful. Our guests were talking about this long after our wedding!

I'm so glad we chose MKD as the harpist for our wedding ceremony. She was beyond professional and made sure everything was perfectly planned out, in order for the musical selections to run smoothly on the big day! She was the perfect addition to our ceremony, and looking back at our photos / video - she was absolutely gorgeous and engaging throughout the service. Would certainly recommend her to anyone looking for musical services!

Meghan was great to work with. She contacted me back immediately, allowed me to mail her checks which was convenient, and was absolutely wonderful! She dressed eloquently for the even and everyone loved listening to the music!

Beautiful wedding enhanced by Meghan Davis.

Meghan sang and played harp for our wedding ceremony at St. Peter's Church in Northern Liberties on June 2nd, 2012. The ceremony was a full traditional Roman Catholic mass, and her harp and voice enhanced the beautiful solemnity of the event. If the church was not so amazingly stunning, and my wife not so drop-dead gorgeous, Meghan would have stolen the show. It was perfect.

I am so glad Meghan was a part of our May 2013 wedding at the Merion Tribute House!

Her beautiful harp music was the perfect complement to our sophisticated wedding venue and outdoor ceremony. We didn't have a large wedding party but it was a long walk from the venue to the altar so it was lovely to have harp music to fill the team and set the perfect tone.

Meghan was incredibly easy to work with--choosing music selections, order of music, set up at the venue, etc. She made a suggestion for the order of the song choices but when I asked her to change it later so was completely accommodating which I really appreciated.

We decided not to have a videographer so I don't have a recording of Meghan playing but from what I heard and everyone else's compliments, I know we made a great choice!!
