Lawrence and his team are an absolute joy to work with. They have an innate calmness that radiates through everyone around them, helping us keep calm along with them. Lawrence is flexible when things change, like family requesting last second photos, and open to feedback. He makes an immense effort to build a personal relationship to understand your vision. His familiarity with the venue was a huge benefit as he knew the perfect locations as the natural light shifted throughout the day. We had a 3-day wedding and Lawrence was happy to be present for the whole weekend, ensuring he captured all of our special moments.
Lawrence’s robust portfolio gave us full confidence that he would capture our wedding in an elegant manner that would last forever. Lawrence also has an incredible turnaround on building the photo suite; only a month after our wedding, we have already received our full slate of photos, allowing us to relive those moments as we deal with post-wedding blues. Our experience with Meadowlark Stills started with a very thorough kickoff meeting, where their team asked thoughtful questions to get at the heart of what we were hoping to accomplish. The attention to detail they seemed to be paying from the start made us confident we were in capable hands.
On the day of the wedding they were very accommodating, meeting us at a separate location early in the morning to shoot pre-wedding activities. They were consummate professionals, handling nonstop requests from bossy family members very gracefully. Their team knew when to interject with direction and when to hang back, allowing us to enjoy intimate moments without feeling like we were constantly on camera.
Throughout the day they shot on both film and digital, and in the final edits managed to capture an energy and authenticity that completely shattered our expectations. We couldn't be happier with our photos! -

Photographer That Genuinely Tells Your Story
Lawrence Braun captivated us from our welcome call more than a year ahead of our big day. It was immediately clear that his highest priority was to help us tell our story. As we looked through the final wedding gallery, it was clear that he valued all of our community’s nuances and quirks. Now we have photographic treasures for the rest of our lives.
During our engagement photoshoot, he helped us drop into the moment by using such kind and poetic language to narrate our experience. He brought this same energy to every interaction we had and to our big day. He made us cry, laugh, and be in awe at our wedding. Lawrence also brought much needed levity to the day. Weddings are intense and can be overwhelming at times. He was always calm and had a great sense of how we were feeling in a variety of different moments. Your wedding photographer is someone you are going to be spend a lot of time with on your wedding day. And we are very grateful Lawrence was there with us. Choosing Meadowlark Stills to shoot our wedding was a great decision! From our initial phone call on I felt incredibly comfortable with Lawrence, his patience and genuine nature was very apparent from the beginning. He took the time to get to know us and shared about himself to ensure we were a great match! Chatting with him ultimately brought more excitement to us for planning our wedding. We decided to go with the second shooter option and we are so happy that we did. Lawrence and Kelly were absolutely phenomenal, and I don’t say that lightly. They showed up in every moment with their best, bringing laughter and character, and their presence was truly so comfortable. Several of our guests asked us if they were friends of ours and I felt that says a lot. When work and passion blend it becomes lighter, easeful, and fun, that was truly reflected on our experience with Meadowlark. Also, our photos are so beautiful I cherish them dearly! I am so grateful to have had such skillful photographers shooting our day! I highly recommend hiring them for any occasion, especially a wedding! Thanks again!! -

I first met Lawrence when he was recommended to me by the folks at the DeBruce. I was setting up a surprise engagement shoot and Lawrence brought the magic and expertise that raised the experience to another level entirely. He took the time to scout locations with me and added invaluable info about timing and sunshine. The photos came out so good that we subsequently hired Lawrence to shoot our wedding in NYC. The photos from that night are unbelievably good. They are classy, moody, romantic, fun, and above all captured the experience entirely. In fact, the Polo Bar now uses some of the photos on their social channels. I wholeheartedly recommend Lawrence and Meadowlark Stills for any of your photo needs! He is punctual, professional, and flexible....but above all he's an extremely talented photographer and artist...and now a friend. -

Best Decision
I found Lawrence on Instagram and immediately fell in love with his style. I was thrilled when he agreed to capture our wedding. We met with Lawrence for an engagement/get to know you shoot which was the best decision. It was so good to meet him before the wedding, and for my husband to feel comfortable having his picture taken. Then on the wedding day it was just like having another friend with us as we felt so comfortable with him. Lawrence captured the most special moments and fit in so well with the whole group everyone was sad when he left. Receiving the finished photos felt like reliving the best day all over again. I have tried hard to decide which is my favorite and I just can't, there are too many favorites. I would choose Lawrence again in a heart beat. Thank you Lawrence! -

Amazing photos! Highly Recommend!
My husband and I got married in July this year after having to postpone our wedding twice due to Coronavirus. Lawrence was so helpful in working with us each time we had to reschedule. Not only is he very personable but his work is amazing too. We were blown away by our wedding photos and so happy he and Moriah were there to help capture our special day! We highly recommend Lawrence and his team as photographers for your big day! -

Incredible photos & experience!
Lawrence shot our engagement and wedding and the photos came out incredible! My husband and I are certainly awkward and can really get in our heads, Lawrence made the experience relaxed, fun, and real. He was completely unobtrusive yet captured every moment we thought we wanted and so much more. We did not have a videographer and in our opinion, we did not need one! Lawrence's photo's told the story of our wedding perfectly & beautifully. We cannot recommend Lawrence enough! -

Lawrence and his assistant were an amazing duo...always there to capture some of our greatest moments but never in the way or obvious to anyone. When we were looking through the 800 photos he sent us of the wedding we couldn't believe that they captured so many different aspects and scenes from the different floors of our barn to the outside partying and late night adventures. Excellent job! -

I'm truly unsure my review can capture how special Lawrence is as a photographer, artist, and person. We booked Lawrence on our first phone call with him when you know you know. Lawrence offers a genuine experience throughout, getting to know and capturing your essence and the spirit of the celebration. My wife and I were married this past November on a very large private estate in Great Barrington Massachusetts. Lawrence and his second shooter did not miss a beat. I mention this because we were not only in nature throughout the morning into an evening ceremony, we were across (5) different structures spread out across the property. Lawrence takes an observant approach to his work, naturally blending in thereby capturing natural artistic shots with stunning vantage points. Nothing is tense or proscribed. I think it's worth mentioning that we own and operate a farm to table catering and event production company in NYC with very high standards. We know this industry well and I can not think of a better photographer to recommend. We look forward to working with Lawrence for years to come and are proud to call him a friend. -

True Magic!
Lawrence Braun of Meadowlark Stills is simply an amazing talent. He recently shot our August 2019 elopement. Photos were very important for us to have and share. We are so happy to have meet and worked with Meadowlark Stills. Lawrences photos speak from themselves on what you will receive and experience. A thoughtfully planned, and well executed shoot with beautifully edited finished product. He was wonderful to work with, bringing such joy and positivity to our day. Lawrence is the best!
Having little more to back my assessment up with than a keen interest in the medium, with Lawrence's photography I gotta say the proof of the quality is right there in the pictures. But what makes his wedding photography so great is the natural ease he puts both you as the stress-and-emotion burdened couple of the day and your family and guests throughout the wedding. With absolute minimal staging (we of course got some lovely first look and family portraits done), Lawrence has an eye for capturing genuine moments from the day that reflect your memory of it - warm, beautiful and joyous. Meadowlark Stills was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding and I couldn't recommend Lawrence enough! -

Lawrence was hired to take photos of our wedding day and was also in charge of videography in which he hired 2 of his friends for and made me feel confident about prior to our day. Although I had made it clear that I wanted the entire wedding filmed for family that couldn’t make it, all we received was raw footage that was almost all shaky, unusable clips. When I shared our dissatisfaction with the video portion of the service, Lawrence said he’d see to it that a video was put together that we can confidently share with friends/family and that he’d “make sure it gets done”. It has been over 1 year since he made this statement, and it has not yet happened, and there has been no follow through whatsoever. Pictures were good, but horrible experience overall. I hope he can make this right and follow through with what he said.
UPDATE: It really isn’t professional for Lawrence to come and dispute this review that the website did eventually put back up when we weren’t being slanderous. After that he now edited his original reply to this review to now make it sound as if his company had nothing to do with the video portion of the service, when in fact he was hired to take care of both photo and video for our wedding. Also for him to put a passcode on the photos we paid to have lifetime access to is just wrong. I hope this all just stops now.
