Incredible Experience

We cannot say enough amazing about James! He supported our wedding at The White Room in St. Augustine, Florida, in June 2025, and truly helped bring the magic to life. From the very first conversation to the final song of the night, he was great to work with.

He was very professional and has all the planning tools needed to make you feel prepared and comfortable. He was also great about quick responses and proactively reaching out to make us feel comfortable.

At the event, he was on top of the intros, toasts, specifical instructions, etc. and read the crowd so well to keep the dance floor full all night long.

So many of our guests told us afterward how much they loved the music and how fun the reception was—and we owe a huge part of that to James. If you're getting married in St. Augustine (or anywhere!), do yourself a favor and book him. Absolutely top-notch!

Fantastic!!

We had such a fun night with James! He was professional but so much fun! A DJ is such a key vendor because they run the party!! And he did a fantastic job! We loved the anniversary dance that he included! He did a great job of including the music we wanted as well as matching the vibes to what guests wanted to dance to. Also, great prices. I compared to many different DJs. Thank you James!

Got Every Guest Dancing!

We started the night with a jazz band for dinner and some of the special dances, but when the band packed up, MC J Wiz knew how to bring the party! James was an excellent support on our day, knowing how to read the room and keep everyone on their feet. Great communication and understanding of our needs, James had amazing flow to the songs and perfect timing on announcements. Highly recommended for an affordable and talented party starter on your big day!

Highly recommend!!

James was such a fun DJ for our wedding!! He did a great job announcing everything. He played our requested songs and our guest’s requested songs. Everything went smoothly and he communicated well with us. He accommodated our day of requests and we enjoyed having him! A Night To Remeber!

James was a fantastic DJ! He was so amazing to work with & made our wedding day so much more amazing! He really went above & beyond my expectations! He made sure to keep the party going the whole time! He was easy to work with & very flexible when last minutes unforeseen changes occurred. He made sure he knew how to pronounce everyone's name & in what order to call them! He was very professional & organized from the first time we talked through the end of our wedding day! I would one hundred percent recommend using him for any event you are planning!

Great DJ experience!

James was an awesome DJ! When selecting a DJ for our wedding, we found that many DJs were either unorganized or were too ready to make our wedding about their production. However, my wife and I felt at ease from the get-go with James. He was very professional, laid back, and was ready to customize the playlist and schedule needed for our ceremony. On the day of our wedding, he arrived early, had already coordinated with the planners, and he facilitated the music and key events exactly how they needed to be. Thanks James!

Great DJ. Would not change a thing.

From the very first phone call we knew we were going to choose this DJ. Just the level of professionalism and preparedness he had let us know that he would not dissapoint. And he didn't. Not complaints on this side. The entire wedding had a blast. Thank you James.

MC J Wiz Was absolutely wonderful! He was dressed to the T, he was kind and so respectful to everyone! He was an absolute pleasure to work with as well, his system for mapping out the event was so easy to use, and took a lot of stress out of the picture that my wife and I were worried about. Once we were at the reception, MC J Wiz was super fun and interactive with the crowd, and definitely had us on the dance floor all night long! I would absolutely recommend MC J Wiz to anyone that’s looking for a good time!

Amazing DJ and great person

James was THE best DJ we could have ever asked for. I’m so happy that we found him for our wedding. He got everyone up and going and having fun even though it was a cold night. He played such a good variety and people were dancing all night. He was charismatic and nice and very approachable. He also made all of the planning super easy and low stress. Recommend him 10/10!

James was the best decision we made!

When we booked our venue, James came as a recommended vendor. We almost went with a band instead. BUT James reached out to us for a zoom meeting and we realized right away that this man knew what he was doing! He was incredibly professional and experienced. He thought of things that we didn’t and made sure our night flowed smoothly. He was responsive to texts and calls even the days leading up to our wedding. James kept our guests dancing all night long. He knew just what to do and when to do it. I can’t recommend him enough. He was the best vendor that we worked with for our wedding. Thank you, James!

Best DJ for our special day

James was amazing for planning and on our wedding day. He always responded quickly to all of my questions and on the day he kept the action flowing seamlessly. When a few of our guests were ready to dance before dinner, he had the music ready to satisfy everyone. Definite recommend!!

One of the best vendors of the night!

James was amazing! Hiring a DJ was something I was super nervous about, my husband and I have been to lots of wedding where we just didn’t care for the music or the DJ that was there. But James is truly awesome. He has an extremely user friendly website that is so easy to help find music for every step of the wedding. And if you can’t think of anything he really takes your ideas and do not play lists into considerations when making music choices. He also does such a great job reading the crowd and gets everyone on their feet up and dancing with ease. He also has a plethora or add ons from special lighting to bubble machines that you can add to your special day. He is also extremely affordable even when adding in any extras! 1000% so happy we booked James!!

Awesome DJ!

James knew how to keep people out on the dancefloor, even during these times. He was very quick to respond to emails/phone calls. He did a great job with feeling out the crowd and seeing what was the best dancing music for our guests while still playing the music we had on our playlist. I highly recommend him and will definitely use his services for future events!!

James was great! Very professional, easy to work with, and kept the course of events on time just how we wanted it. Music selection was amazing and if there was a song we wanted that he didn’t have he would get; even a homemade track we wanted played. Prices were the best out of anything I found, more than reasonable for the time and quality we received.

Very lucky we chose Dj Whizz. He came early, stayed late. Was very attentive to the Bride’s special needs. He was like a backup day-of planner with his ambition and attention to detail. DJ MC J is great! We all have a wonderful time with him. He work with us picking our music from the ceremony, first dances and the party music he did an excellent job. He took requests from our guests. Everyone was happy with him! He have a very reasonable price! Great experience.

The best ever!!!!!!!

James is AMAZING. He was on top of everything for our wedding day! Every minute of action was timed perfectly, and he kept the party bumping all night long. He was such a hit, I had family members asking me to get copies of the playlist to put on CDs. He even found our obscure first dance song with no problem at all! James is awesome! We talked on the phone many times before the wedding. He answered every nagging question and was the best DJ for our wedding! He has a detailed itinerary that accounts for every minute of the ceremony and reception which he fills out with you. A perfect day with DJ James!

My experience with DJ James was exceptional! He is extremely professional and took the time to educate me on his website so that we could choose the music that we wanted to play on our special day. He arrived hours before he was supposed to and had everything set up perfectly. He was entertaining and my guests really enjoyed the day thanks to him. I would highly recommend DJ James!

Best Experience!!

We had the best time with James at our wedding!! He is so nice, professional, and personal. Before the wedding, he answered all of my questions quickly and even set up an easy to use online portal to request music. He played a perfect variety of music that had every age dancing! He added a few fun activities that got everyone at the wedding involved and on the dance floor! I had so many people come up and compliment me on the DJ and music! We had the most amazing time and James truly helped deliver the best party!!

Incredible professionalism

DJ Strutchen was the most prompt and attentive vendor that we hired for our wedding! He was very flexible in his ability to meet with us and was very thorough on explaining our timeline and what we were responsible for. There were lots of options for lighting, staging, traditions, and guest interactions. He was able to easily accommodate our outside ceremony in a park. Our reception was perfect and we got many compliments on the mix of music provided throughout the reception. We would highly recommend this service to future projects.

Really knows his stuff!

Mr James was incredible. Allowed us the flexibility of swapping up itinerary last minute, and he really kept the crowd engaged and flowing perfectly throughout the ceremony, and the reception. Music was well played, and dancing was every where. He also has a great set up with lights that helped the venue look amazing ! Mr James went over and beyond creating our playlist, and even mixing a few songs together for us.I recommend him to anyone!

James was such a wonderful DJ! He was so attentive to every little detail and really impressed us. When preparing for the reception, he gave me a call a few days before the big day to work through every little detail. He even practiced pronouncing the names of everyone in the wedding party so that he would say them right when introducing us at the reception. We really appreciated that. :) James was such a great help along the way. Any time I had a question, he was so fast to call, text, or email a response. He also has this awesome music request system that he took the time to walk us through over a phone call once we had booked his services. We had so many guests tell us that our wedding was one of the most fun weddings that had ever been to, and I fully believe James was a big part in that! He kept the crowd dancing all night and played such fun music!! He even did a conga line and a group photo that everyone loved so much! I would HIGHLY recommend booking James (MC J Wiz Productions) as your wedding DJ!!! He came as a recommendation from our reception venue (Oyster Bay Yacht Club), and we have no regrets going with his services! He's the best! :)

So much fun!!

James made our event so much fun for everyone at our wedding reception. He is a pro at keeping the party moving while blending in key events (cake cutting, toasts, etc). Keep the dance floor packed!

James is so awesome! He was flexible and easy to communicate with from the moment we started talking to him. He made sure our guests were dancing all night. He's a professional and you can tell he's been doing this for a while because he knew just when to play the right music. Even though a torrential downpour temporarily shut down some of his equipment he still had a smile on his face and kept the party going! I can't recommend James enough!

James was absolutely phenomenal! From the very beginning, James was responsive, organized, and helpful in providing suggestions for our music list given our taste in music. He has a wonderful and charismatic personality and made sure everyone had fun and danced the whole night! We really couldn't have asked for a better DJ. Weeks after the wedding and our guests are still complementing the incredible job that he did. Jekyll Island Wedding DJ

First of all, James was the most attentive, organized, and kind out of our vendors. From the moment I sent him a message on Wedding Wire to our wedding day, James went above and beyond. He immediately called me whenever he got my message and walked me through his song uploading site. He took his time to meet with us (we are an out-of-state couple) and we went over the necessary details while we graciously accepted his input. Immediately after meeting with him, my fiancé looked at me and said “wow I am so happy you went with him. I feel like he really knows what he’s doing.” Planning a destination wedding, it is so difficult to find vendors that you can trust for your one special day without having your friends or families’ recommendations.

On the day of the wedding, James got to Jekyll Island at noon to make sure he knew where he was going (per our contract, he didn’t need to get there until 5), and then began to set up at our venue (Crane Cottage) about 2-3 hours before we had him scheduled to start!

The wedding (from the DJ aspect) went incredibly smooth. I could tell that he practiced our names (he had recorded pronunciations earlier in the week), and his set up looked very sleek. He was so kind to even offer a monogram to project onto the wall, however, we soon discovered there wasn’t any wall space for that projector. The uplighting that is included in his package was the best bonus, and you can customize to ANY color imaginable with the app that he has you download – so simple and I was able to create the perfect blush color!

We initially only hired James for 4 hours (7-11), but even after the wedding was supposed to end, nobody wanted to stop dancing so we ended up hiring James for an extra 4 hours (until 2 am!!). He was amazing, and everyone is still talking about how much fun they had dancing.

To top it all off...he is so incredibly reasonable!

Perfect!!!

James really made the soundtrack to my wedding perfect. Very attentive and professional. He’s very easy to get along with. Prompt on responses to my questions and request. If he didn’t have the songs I wanted, he found t hem and bought them. Definitely recommend him to all brides and/or for any kind of event. He even had special lights to go with his equipment. I'd give him 10 stars in all categories if it was an option. We went back and forth on saving some money and playing our own music but are so glad we did not. He's a true pro at keeping the dance floor full and people having a great time. It wouldn't have been as quality of a party without him. We can't wait for the next excuse to use him again.

James was the DJ for our daughter's St. Augustine wedding. He not only played the music and led the fun at the reception, but he also provided the music and mics during the ceremony. He was fabulous! He directed all activities at their wedding and had the perfect combination of music for our wide range of ages. The younger people liked the music he chose for the older people and the older people liked the music he chose for the younger people. He showed up early and had his impressive equipment set up with plenty of time to spare before the event. He is a wonderfully likeable, exceedingly professional and someone I will call immediately if again I need a DJ anywhere near Jacksonville or St. Augustine.

We were planning our wedding from across the country, and didn't have a chance to meet James face to face until he arrived to set up his system on the day of the wedding. Even though we didn't have a chance to meet, James was a pleasure to work with and he made all music/MC related decisions easy to manage. The online platform for building a playlist is very nice, and the fact that James will buy requested tracks not already in his library is a great plus. Overall, James knew exactly what to do which took a lot of the stress out of the planning and the wedding and kept the dance floor hopping. Would highly recommend!

I can't speak more about how amazing James is. I was on a budget and he was so much less than most other DJ's I contacted. He answered my emails almost immediately, which I loved. He provided all of my uplighting too, which was a huge help because I didn't need to get another vendor. I trusted him to set the color and he picked perfectly. After the wedding, everyone kept commenting on how amazing the music selection, he had everyone out on the dance floor. There was music everyone enjoyed from grandma to my wedding party. It was great seeing so many people dancing, it was something I was nervous about. I would recommend him for any other event!

It was a pleasure working with James. He is very professional and very nice. The sound of his speakers was amazing. People are still talking about my wedding thanks to DJ Wiz. He really loves what he does and it shows. We were over an hour late to rehearsal due to road construction and some of the wedding party getting lost, but he we waited until we got there. His timeline made my wedding flow perfectly and everyone is still talking about the past the napkin game. Several guests have told me that this was the best wedding they had ever attended and I give all the credit to DJ Wiz. He is truly amazing!!

In a word; Fantastic! It was very easy to book, meet with, and set everything up with James. He was able to get all of our less mainstream song requests, played everything on cue, and karaoke was a blast. When we put down songs that had R rated lyrics, he made sure to ask if we wanted censored or not and then he was perfectly fine playing the uncensored versions (Adults only wedding for us). He was very helpful and punctual. For the gear people: I play in a bar band and James has a good sounding rig.

DJ James is THE BEST!!! He had our dance floor poppin' all night long! We were able to choose our song playlist from everything starting with the prelude, cocktail hour, dinner, and obviously most importantly the reception. His music library was extensive. If the guests weren't feeling a song he would quickly fade into a different song that would have the floor packed again. Our dance floor was never empty which is exactly what we wanted! James also had suggestions for the prelude and cocktail hour and set up a music train to get everyone on the dance floor for the perfect photo op! All of our guests continue to rave about how great James was! We also used his up-lighting which really set the mood for the evening. He helped us put together a timeline for the ceremony and reception music, played every one of our requests and kept the partying going on the dance floor all night! He had great ideas to keep the party going, starting with the train song which got every guest up on their feet. We had such a fun day and owe it to James for that!!

James was excellent to work with from start to finish! He made the planning process really easy and organized. Our wedding was so much fun and everyone commented on how no one was sitting because they were up and dancing. We loved the train/group photo idea and our guests thought the shoe game idea was so funny. We definitely will recommend James to all our friends getting married in the future!

DJ James is great! He was one of the most responsive vendors that I worked with. Any time that I had a question about the music selection or his services, he made sure to make himself available to meet with me by phone or by email. During the music selection process, I loved that he provided an online playlist where I could hear songs and see music recommendations, many of which I included on my own wedding day. His online playlist made the music selection process a breeze! During the ceremony, he was prompt with timing, and made great suggestions so the night would run more smoothly. Not only was the wedding a blast, but he was also one of the nicest people to work with. He cares about his clients and goes out of his way communicate with you every step of the way. I would highly recommend DJ James if you're looking for someone who provides high quality services at a very reasonable cost. Thank you, DJ James!

James was extremely easy to work with and very responsive. He even called before the wedding to make sure he had the pronunciations correct for all of our wedding party. I would recommend him to anyone needing a DJ!

James was amazing at our wedding and the months and weeks leading up to it. He met with me several times to go over the music and schedule for the wedding. He was very flexible with last minute changes and requests. He was incredibly patient and clear with her services. He was extremely reasonably priced and did a wonderful job at my wedding. I would very highly recommend him for any sort of event. He communicated very well through out the wedding and sometimes all I needed to do was give him a nod and he would understand. `If you chose James as your DJ you will not regret it.

I cannot say enough good things about James with MC J Wiz Production DJ Services! My expectations were so exceeded. James walked me through every step of the process, from guiding me through the music selection on the website to working up an itinerary for the big day. I was so comforted when we sat down and worked through our itinerary minute by minute. I realized through the wedding planning process you really need someone very organized to pull together all the moving parts to make a cohesive plan. He found a perfect balance between hearing and accommodating my wishes and recommending songs or traditions that work well for receptions through his experience. His professionalism showed throughout every step but he was always attentive and personable. Even though we had a violinist for the ceremony, James made sure to be there for the rehearsal and ceremony to make sure all the sound was hooked up properly. I truly believe he is the reason our reception was a success. Yes we planned and fretted over every detail for months, but at the end of the day all of our guests will remember the great time they had on the dance floor and James is to thank for that.

DJ James is the best DJ in town, he was so easy to work with and so well organized, he helped us with our music and made sure that we had plenty to choose from, he set up 2 meetings with us and provided a timeline to help us make our wedding day run smoothly. The music list to choose from can be done online and the payment can also be done online which made it easier for us. He made our wedding reception run smoothly and our guests couldn't stop complimenting how great the music was, he was very accommmodating the whole night. I would definitely recommend him to your next events. ☺♥
