Our Maymont tour was very thorough and they wanted to accommodate us as much as possible! Highly recommend!

We had the most beautiful wedding that required minimal decorations due to the venue being so amazing itself! All of the staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable when it came to answering questions! They were even really amazing about helping us navigate having a wedding during a pandemic.

Maymont was the perfect venue for our ceremony and reception! Catherine, Tawheed, and the Maymont staff were easy to work with throughout the process and very helpful/flexible with our ideas. They worked with our other vendors to make sure the wedding day went off without a hitch. We picked a number of other vendors who had previously worked at Maymont, which made the process a little easier because they all knew what they were doing and where they were going. Everyone loved the ceremony site outside the Nature Center - the weather was beautiful and the setup was perfect. The cocktail hour in the Nature Center exhibit area was a big hit with our guests, and the reception on the Nature Center back patio was a perfect-sized space for our 100-ish guests. The venue had a personal connection for us, which made the wedding extra special. Thank you, Maymont!

What an incredibly beautiful ceremony and fantastic party! We can not say enough about our magnificent experience with all the professional staff at Maymont. The venue was beautiful, with all the flowers in bloom! The Nature Center and Patio truly lent to the fabulous fun and unique reception. Maymont's staff was so accommodating with our elder guests and every request we made was met with a smile and positive results!!! The horse and carriage ride made our bride feel like a princess!!! Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this fairytale wedding come true!!!

We were married in the Italian Gardens and couldn't have been happier. The service of the staff was wonderful and the bridal dressing suite was beautiful.

I originally live in Florida. My husband and I want to get married by a waterfall. Thus, began my 7 day road trip to 16 different waterfalls to find my perfect wedding spot. Maymont was the second or third waterfall I visited and I feel in love. As soon as I saw the waterfall and Japanese garden I could picture myself getting married on the bridge in front of the waterfall. Then I went to visit the Nature Center and knew that is were I wanted to have the reception. The beautiful tent on the terrace overlooking Maymont's extraordinary grounds could not be more picturesque. Being that I live out of state I thought it would be difficult to coordinate a wedding but everyone at Maymont was so helpful and accommodating. Rebekah was extremely helpful in answering every question, making sure my wedding day would be magical. During the wedding the coordinator at Maymont made sure everything ran smoothly, running like clock work. She was so patient with me and made sure I got everything I wanted. Thanks to Maymont Park and its staff I was able to get the fair tale wedding I have always dreamed about.

We had a wonderful experience with Maymont from beginning to end.

We were married in the Japanese Garden of Maymont Park and we could not have asked for a more perfect place. The staff were incredibly helpful and supportive. The scenery is so beautiful, there really is no need to go all out on decor/flowers.

We had our reception at the Nature Center. They have a very large terrace that overlooks the park and they provide a tent that covers the terrace. They were able to accommodate our 5-piece band, caterer, and photobooth. We had a blast!

Maymont was the perfect place for a wedding. Everything was beautiful and the staff was very helpful with everything. The coordinators did everything they could to make sure everything went easily and smoothly for the bride.

Great place to have a wedding. Very beautiful. The carriage is very nice, but don't take it when you come back to the reception. It takes like 40 mins. You'll get the guests wait for too long.

The park was beautiful. When I went in for my tour I instantly knew that was the place for our wedding. Everyone in the staff was very nice and helpful. It was bit expensive but well worth it.

We are still in the planning process of our wedding, but the Maymont Staff have been nothing short of fantastic. Catherine has been such an amazing help in handling all my phone calls, emails, and questions. I was worried about the planning process being that my fiancé is deployed, but she has been a great help!

Maymont was a gorgeous place to have an outdoor wedding ceremony! All of the staff were very helpful and answered all of the questions that I had. They also ensured that everything was going well in the ceremony, including checking the guest count before starting the ceremony (to make sure most people had arrived). I did think it was a little expensive- $1500 for the ceremony site, a horse-drawn carriage ride, and a dressing room. But since I have always wanted my wedding to be at Maymont, and since the site was so gorgeous, in the end I think it was worth it. I would definitely recommend Maymont to anyone wanting a gorgeous outdoor wedding ceremony site!

Maymont was an absolutely beautiful location for my daughter's wedding. We used the Italian Garden for the ceremony and the Nature Center for the reception. The sales staff were very professional and responsive. They had a representative on site for the rehearsal and the wedding who was very helpful and made sure everything Maymont was responsible for was in place. The Maymont staff had walkie talkies which helped with communication between the two sites when I was couldn't reach my wedding planner by phone or didn't have it on hand. The price seemed a little high to me but I didn't price any other venues. I paid extra for an extra hour, to rent the exhibit area, to rent the tram, and to have the golf cart available for those who needed assistance. It is a little more difficult venue than a hotel because you have to bring everything in and the ceremony and reception sites can require driving. The two hour set up time goes by really fast. I rented the exhibit area for cocktail hour to have extra space in case we needed to use part of the reception area for a ceremony rain plan but food and drinks are not allowed in there and my guests didn't know the exhibit area was open so I recommend a sign. I also recommend a rug where the carriage drops off the bride for the ceremony so she doesn't have to walk throught the dirt, and bottled water for the guests if it's a summertime event. I did not have a transportation plan for the wedding party because I thought they would all have cars parked near the ceremony site but they didn't. Fortunately, Maymont held the tram over until pictures were done, past the time I rented it for, to take the wedding party up to the Nature Center. Overall it was a very beautiful venue, Maymont did everything they said they would plus more, and I was told by guests that it was like a fairytale wedding.

Great location, amazing team to work with especially tawheed.

the only downside will be the flexibility regrading the cater , if you dont use their selected caters, you have to pay $600 fees.
other than that we had great wedding in Maymont (we used the italian garden and the tent at the nature center)

I have always loved maymont and how beautiful it is. So when it came to my dream wedding this has always been my go to place. I can not wait until our carriage ride to the Italian gardens and to begin our life starting with a beautiful wedding in an amazing place!

We were thrilled with the service we received at Maymont! The staff was incredable and always willing to help out. Pre-wedding, I must have emailed my contact a million times. Each time, she replied quickly and was always helpful. The day of the wedding we were blown away by how organized and easy it was!

My daughter and new son in law had an amazing day Nov 8th for their outside wedding in the Italian gardens! It was 70 degrees, sunny and beautiful. The grounds were gorgeous. The only ding in the whole wedding was the driver of the tram to take guests from the garden to the Nature Center for the reception. He didn't seem to like the idea that he was supposed to take the guests to the Center when they wanted to go instead of when he thought he should do it. We the parents had finished our picture taking and he wouldn't drive us back to the Center as Rebecca had said he would, he wanted to wait until there were no more trips to make. We had to go get Rebecca so she could tell him to take us so we could join our guests!

Maymont is a beautiful venue and they've been so helpful when planning my wedding. However, I hate that I have to have full service from my caterer (Maymont only approves their own caterers) since I'm having a buffet. There are many rules and regulations that I found unnecessary. They also caused more stress and caused me to spend more money for my wedding. But other than that, so far so good.

I have booked Maymont as my wedding site for March 2016. It is beautiful and was actually priced comparable, if not lower, to a lot of sites for that time of year. The only thing I did not like was you had to use their list of caterers. But even with that we found one who is great and the wedding will be wonderful.

My husband and I got married in the Italian Gardens at Maymont last June. Yes, it's very expensive, but the scenery just cannot be beat. The garden and the grounds make for the most gorgeous pictures. The only complaint I have, is that there wasn't much communication the day of the wedding. Yes, I probably should have asked exactly where the dressing room was located, and yes, I should have verified exactly what time the horse and buggy were going to pick me up, but I honestly feel, even a year later, that that's something that should have been communicated to me by the staff. They were all buzzing around, but no one really mentioned either of those things. A bride has enough to think about during the wedding planning and the day-of; a little help would have been appreciated.

We had just our reception at Maymont and everything was followed through as promised, as far as I know. We did have an event coordinator (independent vendor), so I'm not sure if she would have told me if anything was out of place or whatever. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way!

We had our wedding in the Japanese Garden and loved it. We did have to pay for a tram to shuttle guests, but it was nice for them. We had a horsedrawn carriage and our wedding coordinator for the day was excellent. If you plan right, this place can be amazing!

Maymont is such a beautiful location to get married at, and it was a beautiful day full of love. We rented the stone barn for the rehearsal, and while it is sparse, it certainly did the trick. they even allowed me to store my flowers that we made during the rehearsal and helped me transport them over, which was very generous and helpful. The wedding day of, everything was set up the way we requested, and the service went perfectly. We had a few unfortunate hitches in the day, i never knew when the carriage was picking us up and for how long the ride was (that would help the photographer plan their day as well), the ceiling had some mold on it (which they fixed day of), the ice maker didn't work (so we had to buy a lot of ice), and the sound system did not work. The bathrooms also needed some TLC- broken towel dispensers, stains on the ceiling. We didn't hire a DJ- because the sound system was working when i viewed the space, and a friend of mine got married in the same reception space and just used an Ipod- so i thought we could save some money there. That turned out to be a terrible decision, and if i had known it would cause me so much sadness i would have hired a DJ. It was embarrassing not having music at the reception, and not having any guests dance was a real let down. But Maymont did at least make an attempt to fix it- bringing in a portable sound bar so one of the rooms had some quiet music. they also refunded me some of my fees because of the issues- so were responsive to the issues at hand. I can't say enough about Catherine's professionalism, she is a seasoned pro and is very responsive via email. But for the price i paid, i think i expected things to go a little smoother. Pros: BEAUTIFUL ceremony space, ample parking, excellent photo opportunities, it felt very special to be in the park after it closed, and it felt so very Richmond! Cons: It would be great to have better communication day of, and a little more attention to detail over all.
