Mayernik Center - Avonworth Community Park Reviews

This was such a beautiful venue for my husband and I's wedding reception. Throughout the planning process, Sara was super helpful and responsive to our questions. We loved the almost log cabin feel of the venue on the inside and the fireplace gave it such a cozy feel. The bar area was nice to have separated from the main room and dance floor so that people who wanted to just hang out and talk could do so but still be close by. The lantern centerpieces provided by the venue made our table decorating a lot easier than it would've been otherwise. The bridge leading from the venue to the parking lot made for a fantastic sparkler exit. There's also plenty of parking which isn't a guarantee with other Pittsburgh venues. Basically, we had a great time at our reception and would recommend the Mayernik center to anyone getting married in a heartbeat.

Sara is the girl. She went above and beyond and her service was incredible. She was there ready to reschedule every time we had to postpone. Can't have the wedding indoors? We moved it outside! It was even better than I hoped and thanks to Sara the venue was perfect.

Staff amazing. As a bride, I never had to worry about a thing. I had both my wedding and reception in the main Mayernik Center - it was absolutely beautiful! The new strung lights are a MUST!

I’m obsessed with this venue! They have 3 caterers to choose from, however you can bring in your own but I believe they have to generate a temporary contract. You bring in your own alcohol with the exception of kegs that are purchased through them. They have a soda system so you don’t have to worry about mixers, cup ware, and straws. This venue was perfect for winter but also would be awesome for warmer months as they have endless outside options for outside ceremonies. Kelly is who I worked with and she was amazing. She went above and beyond to ensure our day went smoothly and was everything we wanted. There are add on’s such as wooden rounds for centerpieces that are reasonably priced. Also the venue it self is absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend.

As soon as we toured the Mayernik Center we knew we wanted to have our wedding here. The building is rustic and romantic and the grounds are lush with greenery. I had my bridal shower and rehearsal dinner at the Cabin, we used the pavilion for our ceremony, and the Mayernik for the reception. The prices are fair, especially for such a gorgeous place. Kelly was wonderful to work with and so helpful! She made sure our big day ran smoothly. Everything was perfect and I’m so happy they were a part of our special day.

If you are looking for a rustic, cabin in the woods type of feel- this is your place! Located on Avonworth Park, a short drive from Pittsburgh. We were lucky enough to be able to have a beautiful outdoor ceremony (pavilion would have been the rain plan). We worked with Sara B and she was a huge help with planning and was always quick to respond to our emails. She was there for the rehearsal and for the ceremony/ reception to keep things running smoothly. We were able to set everything up the day before the wedding, which was amazing (only worked because we had a Friday wedding) The only downside to this venue is that there is a list of three caterers you must pick and you need to buy your own alcohol (they have bartenders). Neither of these things were an issue for us though! Another huge positive was that they had wooden slabs for centerpieces, table numbers, some signs, and an arch for the ceremony that we could rent for an extra change. Everything coordinated beautifully.

So many family members and friends have been talking non stop about how absolutely beautiful the venue was. Seriously it’s so unique. Many said it was one of the nicest weddings they have been too, which was so great to hear. We found it to be extremely reasonably priced and were able to do our whole wedding for under $20,000. Definitely check this place out.

Sara was phenomenal!! Everything went so smoothly and beautifully. Remos was the perfect choice for our food too! Best day ever at the best venue!

I did a lot of research on wedding venues when we first got engaged (nearly 2 years before our wedding date!) and the Mayernik Center was at the top of my list!

They had it all - a park setting nestled 20 minutes outside the city with a covered pavilion for the ceremony and beautiful indoor venue for the reception (complete with a wrap-around porch and log cabin vibe). We started out with one event coordinator, but ended up with Kelly (their original coordinator) who was a pure joy to work with! She went above and beyond in so many ways, and it felt great to work with such a professional during the entire process.

If you want a nature-filled wedding, close to hotels and just far enough from the city... The Mayernik Center is the place for you!

Sara was our coordinator and she was amazing. She would respond to emails within hours and was always accommodating. During our ceremony/reception, she and her team worked flawlessly with our other vendors to ensure that we had the most perfect day! The actual venue doesn't need a review, simply look at pictures of this beautiful log cabin and it speaks for itself.

I adored the Mayernik Center for our wedding reception this December! As soon as we toured it, we fell in love with the cozy feel of the cabin and the big stone fireplace, not to mention the simple 15 minute commute from downtown Pittsburgh. Jennifer is amazing at her job - she's organized, prompt, and ultimately will do anything to make sure you can relax and have a good time. She made it effortless to plan everything, set up for our event the night before, coordinate vendors' arrival, and assured that the reception went off without a hitch. When one of the bartenders came down with the flu the day before our wedding, it was Jenn who jumped behind the bar to serve! The Park Manager, Eric then stepped in to be our point person for the night of the wedding. The entire staff was stellar at tending to our every need. Other things worth noting that make this place awesome: There's a beautiful bridal suite with a private entrance and private bathroom for you and your wedding party. The giant deck is excellent overflow space to take a breather from the dance floor. You can bring your own alcohol which helps save tremendously on costs (and they'll help you calculate how much you'll need). Having our wedding at the Mayernik Center was one of the best choices we made and we could not be happier with our experience!

If you want a beautiful venue with a great staff for your wedding or any other event, rent the Mayernik Center in Avonworth Community Park. Their staff did a phenomenal job and went above and beyond to accommodate us for my daughter's wedding. Their attention to details and professionalism were extremely helpful when planning a wedding. All of our guests complimented us on how beautiful the venue is.

The Mayernik Center is such a beautiful venue (perfect for our forest-y theme), very spacious but at the same time intimate and easy to navigate. Jennifer and the staff were a great help in setting up and making things run smoothly so that I had no worries on the wedding day. Jennifer was an amazing coordinator overall--she always responded to emails quickly (usually within hours), was accommodating to any special requests and last minute changes/additions, and took care of a lot of details for us. From the moment we walked into the Mayernik Center, it's been outstanding.
We first came upon the Mayernik as a happy accident. We actually had another venue booked and decided to switch it (we were able to get our money back) because we fell in love so hard with the Mayernik!

Jennifer has been extremely helpful and communicative in discussing our big day. I can't wait to celebrate there in April and will surely update with more helpful tips then!

The Mayernik Center was a beautiful venue for our wedding reception and we are very please that we chose this location. We had a blast and heard many comments from our guests about the beautiful building and the great staff. Sheena and her staff helped to make our night special. We didn't have to worry about a thing. Sheena was pleasant to work with and very professional. I would highly recommend the Mayernik Center for any couples out there looking to find a venue!

Steve and I just want to say thank you a million times over to Jennifer White, our coordinator, for everything you did for us! The Mayernik makes an absolutely beautiful wedding venue and we have not one regret about choosing the place. But Jen made the difference. She was so attentive to every need, dealt with my anxiety so well (thanks Jen!!), kept everyone calm and everyone running smoothly. And it's not everyday you can have a coordinator you can laugh and joke with, let alone have a special bond with. It was such a great experience, and a beautiful day overall! Our pictures will be amazing thanks to the amazing venue and scenery. Thank you so much again to Jen, and all the staff at the Mayernik who helped make our day so special!

Jenn was fabulous, professional and accommodating throughout our planning process and during our reception. The contract clearly states set up times and pricing for extras. Unlike other venues that may schedule a luncheon on the day of a wedding, the Mayernik does not double book. Decorating times are generous compared to similar venues.

We had both the ceremony and reception at the Mayernik Center. We also had first pick on the pavilion which thankfully we did book. I was able to switch the location of the ceremony from the lawn to the pavilion at the last minute because it poured down rain all day during our wedding. The log-cabin feel certainly fit our personality with an upscale feel. Our wedding lesion from the Mayernik center was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. She made sure everything was in order and i didn't have to worry about anything. She even packed food for us as a midnight snack for our wedding night. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone for their wedding day.

The ladies that run the Mayernik are awesome! I actually had the opportunity to work with Laurie, Robin, and Chaundel. Laurie was great for accomodating a few special requests when I realized we would be losing an hour of daylight the weekend of our wedding. Robin always emailed/called back with every answer I needed very quickly. I was super nervous because it wasn't known who my coordinator was going to be until the end, and I turned out having two different gals. Everything went off beautifully! Chaundel and Laurie both kept us on track, got us everything we needed, and were just phenomenal. The venue looked beautiful for a fall wedding! This place and their coordinators are amazing!

Shandrell dod everything to make our day smooth and amazing. She even entertained some of the kids at the wedding and went above and beyond. She made my flower girls day when they got to do flower arrangements this was well above and beyond what we could have ever dreamt. The venue is georgous!

Our ceremony and reception was at the Mayernik Center in Avonworth Community Park and it was... PERFECT!! The staff was also amazing. They were extremely responsive and helpful. Chandel helped us out on the day of the wedding and she was great! I also was in contact with Robin and she was so responsive and extremely helpful. Our day was beautiful and I couldn't have asked for a better place to have our wedding :)

Mayernik Center was the MOST amazing venue for our wedding. It was everything we hoped it would be. The coordinators there couldn't have been more wonderful to work with and making sure that everything that day went smoothly and was very memorable.

The Mayernik Center is beautiful! The surrounding park has a lot of cute locations to take pictures as well, so you don't have to go anywhere else. Chandel was extremely helpful throughout the process, and even came through with umbrellas for us when it started to rain in the middle of our outdoor pictures! My advice- book early! We started looking in July 2012 and all of 2013 was already booked by then.

I would highly recommend the Mayernik Center. We had a positive experience from our first visit.The venue is incredibly beautiful & offered a lot of flexibility which is great for a DIY wedding or someone on budget.The venue has established positive relationships with a variety of vendors & this helped put our minds at ease. Suzi worked with us up until the wedding & was extremely responsive & attentive. She helped with every detail from the beginning so we felt comfortable that our big day would go off without a hitch. No question was too big or small. Every question we had she answered quickly & even offered suggestions where appropriate. Suzi was direct & thorough. Because of Suzi we were able to be organized & felt confident that there would be no unexpected surprises. The day of the event we worked with Chaundel. I admit I was a little nervous working with someone other than Suzi since she was our primary contact up to that point & I hadn't established a relationship with Chaundel. The instant we met Chaundel all concerns were alleviated. It was obvious that Chaundel was up to speed & briefed on our event which made for a seamless transition. When we met for the rehearsal it was as if we had worked with her from the beginning. This just speaks volumes about how wonderful & experienced the staff are at the venue. Chaundel was very calm, personable, & professional. She was instrumental in ensuring our day was a memorable one. Chaundel kept everything moving along & instantly established a relationship with our main points of contact for that day. If any issue came up she handled it effortlessly. Even our guests commented on how wonderful Chaundel was & were impressed with how the day just moved along perfectly. I can't say enough great things about the venue, Suzi, & Chaundel. Our day was a very memorable experience that I would do all over again in a heartbeat & this is because of the venue's amazing team of professionals.

The Mayernik Center was the perfect place for our wedding! We loved the atmosphere and the staff was great to work with. Everything was beautiful and exactly as we planned. The kids LOVED having the covered porch to run around and play on, especially with the off and on rain throughout the night. Suzi and her assistant were fantastic and went out of their way to make sure that everything was how we wanted it to be. We would definitely recommend this venue to anyone else looking for a great place to have their wedding reception!

The Mayernik was a perfect fit for our wedding. It was rustic yet formal. We rented the pavillion for a cocktail hour before our reception and enjoyed the beautiful weather that day. Suzie was wonderful to work with she had some great suggestions that helped us with our planning. Everyone siad they had a great time and really enjoyed the wonderful food provided by Remo's.

I used the Mayernik Center for my wedding! It was a beautiful facility! I was so happy on how everything turned out! The staff was really easy to work with! I only had to choose from a list of food vendors. We were able to bring in our own alcohol for the bar, I was able to bring in my own cake person, DJ, photographers, and flowers. They were very flexible!n I was very happy with this venue. The pictures came out beautiful from Studio Bash!

When we first got to the Mayernik Center, its beauty was still evident despite the lack of life on the landscape that Pittsburgh acquires every late November. My fiancé and I had a pretty good feeling about the layout and the picture we had painted in our mind, but none of this would have at all been possible if it had not been for the Mayernik Center’s director, Suzi.

From the very start, we knew we were going to be in good hands after the tour. We had many questions about the procedures for the following months, for which Suzi had a detailed answer for all of them. Currently we live in North Carolina so for us to be so far away raised some concerns for us based on the lack of face time we were going to be able to have with all the people involved in our big day. Suzi was able to alleviate any stress we felt on her end, due to her vigilant and detailed responses to ANY question we came up with.

Suzi was an absolute pleaser to work with, and communicated well with all parties involved (caterer, DJ, parents, bartenders), and we know for a fact that this day would not have gone even a fraction as well if it were not for Suzi, and the wonderful staff that are behind the scenes at the Mayernik Center.

We held both our wedding and reception at the Mayernik and they were both well worth it. It's the best venue in the area for a wedding. We looked at several other places before coming to the Mayernik; we were sold once we saw the venue in person. It's very affordable and easily accessible. However, you will want to book as far in advance as possible as dates fill up quick. We booked over a year in advance and still had to work around some dates to get our perfect wedding date.

Suzi, was very helpful throughout the whole process. She was very informative and helped guide you along the way. We had the possibility for some things to go wrong at our wedding, but Suzi made quite the effort to make sure everything went as smooth as possible.

Some things you should know before renting the Mayernik is that, like I said before, they book up fast. Weddings can be booked there Friday-Sunday, so you won't have the day before to setup for your wedding (or rehearse, unless your wedding is on a Friday). If you have a lot to setup for the wedding (you really don't need a whole lot though, it's naturally beautiful) like we did, make sure you have plenty of help to setup/tear down as you have very limited time to do so.

Overall the Mayernik Center is a great place for a wedding. We were very happy with the way it turned out and are very pleased to have worked with Suzi.

The Mayernik Center was the perfect venue for our daughter's graduation party. The atmosphere, spaciousness, and sevice provided to us was wonderful! The event coordinater, Suzi Hawkins was so helpful and gracious in working with us! We recieved many compliments from our guests. The evening was truly memorable for our daughter!!!!

This venue is absolutely gorgeous, especially at Christmas time, when we had our wedding there. It's like being in an oversized log cabin with cathedral ceilings. It's cozy, there's a fireplace with a beautiful mantel, and it's perfect for an intimate feeling wedding ceremony and reception. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they will set it up however you want it to be, and they take care of any mishaps or problems the day of (we had a problem with an accidental double order of beer, and the coordinator took care of everything when they showed up with more than we needed).

My husband and I were married at the Mayernik Center on 10-22-11. We had an outdoor ceremony on the park grounds and then our reception was held inside the center. The place is beautiful!! We continue to receive compliments on how nice the place was, how convenient it was to our out-of-town guests, and how friendly and organized the staff was! Suzi was awesome to work with! She made our day run so smoothly...always got back to me right away if I had questions or concerns...and just overall made the whole wedding planning process seem easy. We had a wonderful time and our guests loved EVERYTHING about the Mayernik center! I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking for the perfect spot in Piitsburgh to get married!

I am so happy that I picked the Mayernik Center for my wedding reception! Suzie was fantastic (from Mayernik Center)! Everyone loved the setting - it was perfect! Wish I could do it all over again!

Not only was the Mayernik staff incredibly helpful and flexible, the place is absolutely beautiful! For the affordable cost you get a high-quality location that is well kept and for the most part well designed. Our wedding was in January, and the all of the guests commented on how the lodge-like atmosphere was perfect with the snow. (But likewise, when my sister used it for her July wedding two years ago it was equally suitable!)

The Mayernik was amazing! The staff was so helpful and fun to be around. Even when our event turned stressful due to a problem with the caterer Megan really took control of the situation so that we could enjoy our wedding. We were so happy with the Mayernik we have already recommended this venue to others.

This venue fills up fast! I had never heard of the Mayernik Center before, but when I got engaged my fiance and I looked into every possibility in the Pittsburgh area and the Mayernik Center was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! We were looking for a very warm/rustic lodge type venue that would fit into a small budget...and the Mayernik met our criteria. A great bonus is that you bring in your own alcohol - so that is a huge money saver! The caterers that they work with are fabulous also - we used the Post Office Group. We booked about 18 months before our wedding so we were in contact with Megan and Shannon for quite a long time. Despite the fact that I felt like a huge pain, emailing nearly everyday, every email was answered quickly and completely. Living out of state, I wasn't able to visit the Mayernik Center as often as I would like, so I really depended on email/phone contact. However, when I did have the opportunity to visit the venue Megan and Shannon were always available and flexible. Luckily I was able to set up for my event the day before and Shannon was there to answer any questions we had. On the day of the wedding, she lit hundreds of candles and everything was absoltuely perfect!

The Mayernik Center is a fantastic place to have a wedding reception! It is beautiful and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The wedding coordinator did everything she could to help me plan all the details of my reception - she even went so far as to take pictures of chair covers in the reception hall to help make my decision easier (since I'm an out of town bride). I would definitely recommend checking this facility out!

I found out about the Mayernik Center after my mom had put a deposit down on another place that I wasn't 100% sold on. A friend told me about where she had been married "it's affordable and beautiful" she said. She was right.

Not only is the Mayernik affordable, it's the most beautiful place for the price. We got married in the fall and it was absolutely the most perfect setting. I thought the dance floor was going to be too small, but it wasn't at all! Some of the perks: You can bring your own alcohol (which will save you TONS), beautiful setting, which means you don't have to travel for photos and an extra room for the bar and buffet.

Megan was also wonderful! Since we provided all of our own decorations, we had to decorate the DAY OF the wedding. The napkins had arrived and Megan had them present at the rehearsal for my review. I told her that I wanted to take them home so I could fold them like a pocket and place my program inside. She said that she'd have the caterers (Monteverde who provided the linens) fold them. And she did. It turned out to be a huge relief to me.

If you're considering the Mayernik, call now. I got lucky and booked one of the only remaining days of the year for our wedding. It was a Sunday but we got a discount on the rental because it wasn't a Saturday.

At any rate, I loved this venue. We had such a fabulous time and everything went GREAT!

Megan was absolutly wonderful. She helped us with all of our questions and concerns, and was there from the very beginning. The facility itself is fantastic, and does not need a lot of decorating because the building is beautiful on its own. We had about 140 guests with the ceremony and reception inside. The ceremony was a little croweded, but they kept everything organized and no one seemed stressed at all. The waiting list was over a year for a Saturday wedding, but the wait was worth it.

I would reccomend this place to everyone and anyone. The also offer a military discount which is nice in todays world. They no only appreciate your business but the also appreciate what our men and women do for the US, and they show that. Megan, is a doll to work with and was there for us the whole way. We planned our wedding from over a 1,000 miles away, she made it like we were there. She was also lovely for my planner to work with. I would have my wedding there again and again!

I have one word for the Mayernik and Megan - AMAZING!!!!!!

Must book well in advance and for good reason!

Affordable, gorgeous, easy to find, huge parking lot, great photo spots, very professional, helpful, and it literally decorates itself!

My husband and I stumbled onto it after googling some places since we've only lived in the area for a short time. We had no idea it was such a popular spot but I see why and I'm SO glad we were able to book it! It was THE perfect location for a reception!

The Mayernik Center is absolutely gorgeous and decorates itself. There is no need to do a ton of decorating, and I received MANY compliments about my reception. The events coordinator was very helpful, easy to reach, and responds to calls/emails quickly. The bar staff was extremely friendly. I would highly recommend the Mayernik Center to any bride and groom! You definitely get a great venue, staff, and atmosphere for your money!

I can't believe there are no reviews for the Mayernik yet on this site as it's a popular venue... You'll have to book well over a year in advance for popular dates. And with good reason - the place is gorgeous. And Megan, the event coordinator, is fabulous.

We had our ceremony on the grounds behind the center and our reception inside. It was so convenient to be able to have everything in one location so all of our out-of-town guests didn't have to travel around a whole lot. And the park is really easy to find - just a mile or so off of major highway 279. There's plenty of parking and a really cool playground for the kids to blow off some steam. The center itself is very pretty - we got many compliments from guests about it. The main room has a nice stone fireplace and large windows that let in a lot of light. They have a separate room with the bar and buffet (if you go that route). There's a bride's room and separate bathroom, which came in quite handy. There's also a really great wraparound porch where people enjoyed mingling (and escaping the music, if they wanted).

The event coordinator, Megan, was awesome. When we originally booked the site, a different event coordinator was there - she was great - so I was a little worried when she left. Fortunately, her replacement was even better. Megan was very accommodating and super-responsive in emails. She was patient, answering even the stupidest of questions that I had. When I switched around the table arrangements the day before the wedding, she said no problem! On the day of the wedding, she seemed to be everywhere at once making sure all the details were taken care of. I couldn't have asked for anyone better!

A few things to be aware of:
- You must choose from a list of approved caterers, of which there are currently four. We had no problems with this (and loved the one we chose - Monteverde's), but if you have a specific caterer in mind this might be a problem.
- You may have to rent some things from an outside vendor (or perhaps through your caterer). For example, we needed chairs for the ceremony. Mayernik could provide some, but not enough for all to sit. Another example - they provide plastic cups for drinks. If glassware is something that's important to you, you will have to rent. We didn't care and I don't think anyone else cared as long as there was something good to drink in the cups. ;)
- You must provide your own wine/liquor/mixers, which is a great money saver! We were able to return unopened bottles to the store. Beer you have to get through Mayernik via kegs. If you'd rather have your venue provide it all for less hassle, this might be a problem for you. But hey, I'd rather save a few bucks. :)

Overall, I had absolutely no complaints about the Mayernik Center, and I wholeheartedly recommend them!

When I originally booked, I booked with Suzi by referral. A few months later when I called she no longer worked at the Mayernik, this was a bit confusing since I was re-directed to a new person named Chaundel and had to go through some of the same processes. Long story short, in the end it all worked out, I had the most amazing reception, everyone was very accommodating from the Mayernik and worked so well with myself and my husband! All guests were promptly greeted and directed as they should have been. The beverage system seems a bit over priced, and the seating chart could have been sent before the week of the wedding, but other than those two minor things the venue and staff is incredible.

Our coordinator that we worked with was Suzi. The day of our wedding, though, we had Mickey. Before we booked we had read some less than stellar reviews about Suzi, so I have to admit that I was a little nervous, but I want to let you all know that Suzi was GREAT. Always quick to respond and had an answer to every (sometimes weird) question that I had. The day of with Mickey was also great. She even carried my dinner plate back to our table for us so I wouldnt have any issues with my wedding dress and spilling. I gave a 4.5 on professionalism because at the end of the evening, our DJ was to stop playing music at a certain time. He started playing, what we specifically requested to be our last song, maybe 1 or 2 minutes after the "cut off time." Mickey actually had SCREAMED at him to cut it off, when he was trying to explain that this would be the last song. So we didn't get to hear our final song. I understand that there was a hard cut-off time because they wanted to get people cleared out by a certain time, but I felt like she could have been forceful about it without screaming. I just felt embarrassed for my DJ/friend. Other than that, everything was PERFECT - truly. I would definitely still recommend. :)

The Mayernik Center was a wonderful venue for both our ceremony and reception! We can not say enough good things about this place. The venue itself is beautiful and needed little decoration. Shannon our event coordinator was fantastic! Everything went off without a hitch and if it didn't I had no clue there was even an issue. Shannon quickly responded to all of my emails prior to our wedding which made it really easy to plan. She was very personable and easy to get along with. This place fills up quick so book it fast! I just wish the wedding and reception itself was longer so if you have the money I would suggest buying an extra hour. Other than that you will have no regrets if you choose to have your wedding here! Thanks so much Shannon!!

The Mayernik Center in Avonworth is the perfect location for your wedding. We had a fall wedding and the leaves were in full bloom. It was spectacular. Everyone loved the location and could not compliment it enough. The staff was very, very accommodating. The only thing that I didn't give them a 5 for is the original coordinator couldn't make our reception so the coordinator that was there was in jeans. I would recommend this location to anyone that wants a beautiful and stress free reception.

We found the Mayernik about 18 months before the wedding date but we both knew immediately that this was the perfect place for us to get married (we had the ceremony and the reception there). It's absolutely beautiful there and has everything you need. Megan, the coordinator, is a doll. She did everything to make the day go smoothly and we had lots of questions and things that we wanted to do a little differently. There was nothing she didn't do, down to making sure my train was right before I walked down the aisle!
Another great thing is that you can bring your own alcohol. This was HUGE for us as we are pretty specific about what we like, and it also saved a lot of money. Also the bride's room is nicely done and gives you plenty of space to get ready. 4 of us all had hair and makeup done here, and it was so much easier that way.
If you had more than 150 guests, the reception space might be a little too tight, but it was perfect for our smaller, intimate wedding. Also, if you go over a certain number of guests, you have to pay for traffic control, but that wasn't an issue for us as we had nowhere near the number that would have required it.
I gave a 4.5 for cost only because the rental of the hall itself was a little pricey, but honestly, compared to other venues we looked at, the convenience and amenties were worth it.
I can't imagine having my wedding anywhere else and I am so happy that we found the Mayernik. It's very popular, so if you are interested, check on the date you want soon!

My husband and I fell in love with this reception venue on a very snowy day when we were starting to plan our wedding. So many of our guests had the same experience when they arrived. We received a lot of compliments about the facilities. It was so beautiful there and the staff was so helpful. Our wedding day coordinator was fantastic. She and our DJ worked well to keep everything on time and even help me get some of the blue dye off of my feet from my shoes.

What a wonderful venue to celebrate our wedding on July 2, 2015! Our entire ceremony and reception went off without a hitch. It was great to have options for different caterers so that we could work out a budget and cusomize our wedding to match our vision for the event. It was such a pleasure working with the event coordinator Robin, who handled all of the details professionally and graciously. She worked well with our officiant, caterer, and DJ to make sure everything went smoothly, and was sure to handle all the details so we could enjoy our day. She had responsive communication and made sure we understood all the details, and stayed throughout the event to take care of everything from set up to break down. Our guests gave us a lot of positive feedback about the beautiful facility, and everyone had a great time. We have several friends who also had their weddings at Mayernik, and they all had great experiences. I will definitely recommend The Mayernik Center as a top notch venue for an unforgetttable wedding.

Such a beautiful venue! For me, it was a great location, as well!! It's a rustic venue with classy finishes. The service of the wedding coordinator was top of the line! Throughout the entire reception, she would serve of beverages, took any phone calls, and handled any and all issues that arose. The only "downfall" (and I say this with little to no complaining...) is that you are only permitted to decorate the day of your event. As a very specific bride, this was tough because I couldn't decorate the hall for my wedding. But I had lots of help from my mom and family so it all worked out!!! I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful, rustic place!

We were married at the center (we rented the pavilion) on 5/2/14 and it was the most memorable day of my life. The Mayernik Center staff (Laurie B and Chaundel) were amazing to work with. My family is still raving about Chaundel. She ran her butt off for us that night (she insisted!). They were quick getting back with our questions prior to the wedding and helped to make sure that every detail was ready for the big day. Day of, Chaundel was there bright and early to assist with everything (Decorations, deliveries, etc.). I cant express how she helped make the day so perfect. She really has a grasp on what it takes to put together a wedding. The scenery around the center makes for awesome pictures. I am so happy we chose this for our venue.

The venue was great! I had my ceremony and reception here and I couldn't have asked for more. The reception color was orange and it looked amazing with the wood. If your looking for something different and with character, I recommend the Mayernik center. The only issue we had was with flexibility. We had the wedding on a Friday to save money but we ended up spending way more because any accommodation that had to be made, it cost a lot of money to make it happen. Other than that it's a great place and the ladies there know what they are doing.

The venue was amazing and the staff were great to work with. Our only complaint is that they seemed to nickel and dime us. It would have been a much better experience if all costs would have been explained up front.

The Mayernik Center was a great place to have our reception. It comfortably fit all of our guests and everyone there was very professional and helpful on the day of the wedding. The only thing that was surprising on the day was that they wouldn’t let people in until a certain time. I had thought when we met with the event coordinator that they would let people in early, but not let them into the H’orderves and bar area until the reception actually started. However the event coordinator changed shortly before our wedding so maybe that was not conveyed to the new person or policies changed. Either way that just a small bump in what was an overall great day. I would suggest to any couple planning your reception to be aware of the timeline and how it works at any place you plan your reception.

I gave the Mayernik center a high overall rating because of Shannon, not Susie. On the day of my wedding, Susie was rude and overall not helpful. If you plan on using the Mayernik Center, request only Shannon. Shannon was kind and extremely helpful. She made everything run smoothly before and after the wedding. She is very good at what she does. As for the center, it was clean and well maintained. All of my guests loved the wood inside and our outdoor ceremony was beautiful too. I'd use the Mayernik Center again.

Everything was absolutely amazing for our big day. It went off without a hitch and the staff was more than able to accomidate certain requests.

As far as flexibility, this is more geared towards changes the board making changes to policies between us renting the space and the wedding date. Some requests we orignally had were allowed, but later were denied due to these changes, however compromises were made between us and the staff that made everything work out. I am sure going forward these items will already be in place and future wedding couples will not need to worry.

The only thing I wished the hall had was a garment rack in the bridal suite. Other than that the place was magnificent, very kid friendly, playground on site!! have being able to have both the ceremony and reception was a win, win we had quite a few handicapped and elderly guests at our wedding, so i worked out very nicely not having to travel to a lot of places for the event. also the large ramp and wrap around deck proved to be tremendous help as well, if they wouldn't have had that my grandmother who is wheel chair bound would not have been able to attend. The events coordinator Suzi was very helpful, informative and kind through this whole process! I would recommend the Mayernik Center to anyone having a wedding, anniversary dinner party, graduation etc....

Everything at the hall was great. Shannon and the other great people that worked there were very helpful. You need to do little decorating there because everything looks so nice as it is

I was so happy with the Mayernik Center and it perfectly fit our wedding. It is an amazing beautiful hall. Megan, the event coordinator was very helpful and attentive to our needs and really took care of the behind the scences at the wedding. Without her, I don't think the reception would have moved so smooth. I would absolutely suggest the Mayernik Center without hesitation for any event!

The Mayernik was very helpful through every step of the planning process. They were a little pricey, BUT we were able to bring our own alcohol, which was a HUGE $$ saver for us. It's a gorgeous venue and we had many, many compliments on how pretty the location was. We used the back patio for the ceremony, and later used the backyard for lawn games. People also congregated on the front porch and seemed to really enjoy it. The DOC was different than the one I had talked to, but she was very nice. I was hoping she would have been able to stay in the hall the whole time while we were decorating and preparing, but since she was unable to do so, she gave us her cell phone to reach her in case we needed anything. A couple vendors had quick questions for her, but I was able to answer them for the most part. I do highly recommend them, however.

Even with a change in staff our event went very well. I took it upon myself to visit a week before so I could see the room and better explain how I would like it set up. The venue was gorgeous! Spotless inside and out even after all the mud and rain the week of the wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and we received so many compliments on the space and the service. I will recommend this venue and expectedly for a Christmas wedding!

The maynerik center was absolutely beautiful! My guest had a great time and are still talking about how perfect the setting was! The Maynerik center gave a great traditional wedding feel with the dance floor, head table, and over set up, but had its own charm with the rustic log cabin feel. We were able to use both indoor and outdoor spaces which was also very nice! The people at the center are very friendly and are willing to help with whatever they can. During my wedding I had a woman waiting on me that I had not met before that day and she blew me away! I wish I could remember her name, but she would be right there when I needed something and was very accommodating with any requests that I might of had. She helped me get a plate of food and carried for me, she made sure I had a drink before the bar was going to close, I can not say enough great things about her. She really made my day feel flawless.

So pleased with the Mayernik Center. Suzi was fantastic, and I really enjoyed working with her. The natural beauty of the wood interior requires very little ornamentation, and the fireplace is gorgeous. And the park is great. The kids really loved the playground. My only complaints are regarding the value. I think the required per-person soda-fountain cost is exorbitant. We spent more on pop than we did on liquor. And if you want the ceremony there, it is an extra fee (understandably), plus another extra fee (more than the ceremony) if you want to use their garden chairs outside. I can't tell you how many friends/family told us not to use the chairs and just have guests bring their own folding chairs (they were kidding and we didn't, of course). Overall, though, a great experienced and everyone had a blast. Just be aware that there are a lot of add-on fees on top of the great value of the space rental.

The Mayernik Center was the perfect venue for our wedding reception. Not only is the building beautiful, but everyone involved was helpful and professional, making our day perfect in every way. Any questions I had were quickly answered. Both before and during the reception, every person involved - from the bartender to the event coordinator - was extremely pleasant, very easy to communicate with, and assisted us in any way possible. All of our guests commented all night, and still now, how gorgeous the venue is. The large wrap-around porch also allowed our guests to stroll outside a bit to get some fresh air. Overall, we wouldn't have changed a thing about our wedding day, and we would recommend the Mayernik Center to anyone.

The Mayernik Center is not only a beautiful venue to hold a ceremony or reception, but since they do so many weddings and receptions a year (they book over a year in advance!) they really know how to make things run smoothly. Anytime I would send an email to the coordinator, I would get a very quick response. Although its a little pricey, the porch and picturesque setting make it worth it! My only small complaint would be that in the 2 years that we were planning our wedding, the Mayernik had two coordinators move onto other jobs so we had someone new to deal with. However, this caused no problems whatsoever and our plans were still executed flawlessly! We heard so many compliments on the service provided by Suzi, the coordinator, as well as the beauty of the venue from our guests. I recommend the Mayernik to anyone who wants a cozy, woodsy feel to their wedding with beautiful park views from a wrap around porch. You won't be disappointed!

My daughter and now son-in-law's wedding was at the Mayernik Center in May, 2019 and the venue was amazing! It was perfect for the type of rustic wedding they wanted. This is the perfect place for an outside wedding and amazing photos for memories of a lifetime.

Sara, the wedding coordinator, was awesome and is excellent at her job! She helped us through every step. She was available when we had questions and for her assistance in planning the wedding and throughout the day of the wedding. I highly recommend as a perfect wedding venue.

Jenn was great, easy to work with and very helpful. We had 115 people and had plenty of room for dancing and moving around. The oak bar is very nice and so is the wrap around porch where we had them set up some hightop cocktail tables. We did the decorating and the place looked beautiful. Lots of electric candles as centerpieces really sparkled, especially after dark. It was a great venue!

The venue was beautiful! Robin and Lauri were very helpful and quick to respond. We had a great time!

Our company rented the Pavilion at Avonworth Community Park. The facility was ideal for our company picnic.

Overall a fantastic place for a wedding! Shawndell (wedding coordinator) was beyond helpful on our wedding day. She made sure we ate dinner, kept our drinks coming and even saved my ring bearer from having a meltdown before he walked down the aisle! She was amazing. The only downfall is that you can't have rehearsals on Fridays because they have weddings that day. You also can't attach decorations to any part of the woodwork, but the natural beauty saves money on décor! Great service, easy to work with, and also affordable.

We had our wedding at the Mayernik on December 21, 2013, and the staff, headed up by Laurie Berry, was exceptional. She made sure that the day of went smoothly, and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy.

The venue itself was beautiful, with Christmas trees that added to the feel that I wanted to capture for our winter wedding. It was the perfect place for a winter wedding (or any time for that matter).

The list of vendors that were permitted for use for catering, DJing, etc were some of the best that we could find. We were lucky to have the guidance from the Mayernik in our search.

We had an excellent and literally flawless event. Micki was responsive from the beginning and even helped glue a button that had fell off a tux vest back on the day of the event. The bar room is great for people to mingle in and is such a great atmosphere. I think it is important for people to remember though that this isn't an all inclusive venue. You rent the place and they can point you in the right direction for vendors but you have to coordinate everything down to the wine glasses and decorating in the smallish window they give you the day of the event. Also, they make the DJ shut off the music and begin packing up 15 minutes before the scheduled end of your event and the bar closes a half hour early. They make all of these facts clear upfront but I think it is important to remember when deciding how long to rent the venue for. But for the price and the responsiveness this place can't be beat.

The Mayernik Center was a simply beautiful venue with lots of great outdoor picture opportunites. Great for the couple that wants an outdoor-sy wedding without the bugs and heat :) The event coordinator switched 3 times in 6 mo. while I was planning my wedding, but they all managed to keep it together for me. Micki was great at getting back to me with details and answers to questions. I rated the value a little lower due to the short amount of time we had the venue for the price and the above average price ($3.25) for each person to have soda that was required. They also have strict rules to follow at the center, but I was able to deal with them to have this beautiful location. It was a wonderful wedding, but too short!

Its a beautiful venue! Everything went to smoothly. Suzi really helped with keeping things on track! We've gotten so many compliments on the wedding and the venue! We highly reccomend it.

I was initially working with the coordinator Shannon, but she left soon after I decided on the Mayernik & I began to communicate with Suzi. She was extremely helpful, flexible, and quick to return my MANY emails! We had our ceremony and reception inside, but luckily the weather allowed for many outside photos around the large property.
We had an unfortunate situation in that my hired DJ thought our wedding was the day AFTER it actually was & didnt show up! But Suzie made some phone calls & got a DJ to fill-in for us at the very last minute. She helped keep us calm & everything turned out beautifully. She even found some rubber cement which worked to temporarily hold on one of my fake nails that fell off!
The bartenders & caterers were great too...haven't heard ANY negative comments from my guests. It wasn't the cheapest place we could've gone with, but it was sooo worth it :)

Beautiful site--great for an outdoor ceremony.

We just had our wedding reception at the Mayernik, May 23rd, 2015. The ladies were all so very nice and quick to respond. At first I considered this venue to be a little more on the expensive side but they have a day of coordinator that was worth the cost to rent the place. Our "day of" was Chandelle (sorry if it is misspelled) and she was absolutely incredible. She took care of everything, made sure issues were taken care of so that my husband and I could enjoy our time, made sure my glass was always full, and did a fast and fantastic job at the end of the night getting us out the door. We could not be more thankful to her for making our reception wonderful and beautiful. Like I said she was worth the cost of the Mayernik. Thanks so much to all the ladies that were involved in the coordination of our event. I gave 2 stars for flexibility because there are a lot of rules here, but that did not deter us and our reception was amazing! Would definitely recommend for a chic rustic wedding in PGH!!!

This Venue was perfect for our June Wedding! We worked with Laurie & Chaundel and both wonderful! Laurie basically books the place and tells you all the details. The venue only holds 200 people which is reasonable. Also they charge you $2.95 per person for soda. (which is a little much) Chaundel is you coordinator for your rehearsal and for the day of. She was absolutely wonderful! She made the day go so smoothly. Any time I was low on a drink she had one ready for me! She was awesome. I would highly recommend this venue. Just book in advance because they book up fast because it is so beautiful!
