May River Made Up Team is the Best of the Best
Amanda and her team are the best of the best! They are definitely the team you want on your big day. I loved my hair and make-up and my bridal party loved their's too. Amanda and Sarah made getting ready so fun and relaxing.
In addition to hair and makeup, Amanda came to where I was staying to give me and a few others in the wedding a spray tan. All the products Amanda and her team used were top of the line.
Amanda is so easy to work with and listens to how you want to look on your special day. She's also an awesome resource! I was from out of town and I asked her for recommendations on a number of different things -- all of them were fabulous!
I can't say enough good things about May River Made Up! They truly helped me feel extra special on my wedding day. -

Amanda is amazing! She did my makeup for my wedding day and my rehearsal. She made me look stunning and kept me calm through the entire experience! She is extremely professional and knowledgeable and I received so many compliments because Amanda made me look FLAWLESS! I couldn’t have imagined going with any other makeup artist other than her. She knew exactly what I was aiming for and that is what I got. I would recommend Amanda without hesitation. She is a highly skilled makeup artist and makes you feel truly special! -

When I met Amanda for the first time, I immediately knew she was the stylist and makeup artist for me. Her sense of humor, kindness, flexibility, and expertise are unmatched. I have very dry, sensitive skin and am also very fair complected. Amanda worked with me to find the best makeup for my skin, and she gave me her phone number in case I had any questions. She was there every step of way! On the day of the wedding, when Amanda entered the room, talk about zen vibes with a spark of humor! All of my bridesmaids loved her, and she made me feel like the most beautiful person in the world. When I saw myself in the mirror that day, I almost cried. Amanda and her team were incredible, and if I could have her by my side doing my hair and makeup everyday, I would. If you're looking for someone to make you feel and look your best, look no further. Amanda and her team are incredible. -

The BEST of the best
Amanda and her team were organized, professional, and so very talented! These ladies made getting ready go so smoothly. My bridesmaids, mother of the bride and groom, and flower girls looked and felt stunning. My hair and make up looked perfect and held up the entire night. I highly recommend using May River Made Up, you won’t regret it!! -

Professional, friendly service with beautiful results
My experience with Amanda was amazing! She was warm, friendly and went above and beyond to achieve my "best" bridal look! I met with her a few days prior to my wedding day which made it much easier on the actual day! I think the cost ranged from $150-200.00 depending on the services (make-up, hair, attaching veil, etc). Regardless, she was definitely worth it!

These women are incredible!
The women at May River Made Up are absolutely amazing! They did my hair and makeup exactly as I pictured it for my wedding. I was ecstatic! They’re also super friendly and easy to talk to. My mother, sister, and sister-in-law were also very happy with their hair and makeup. If you’re looking for some glam for your big day - these are your ladies! -

Amanda with May River Made Up did an amazing job with my make up! I don't wear much in general and she did exactly what I asked and more! I found Amanda last minute and she rolled out the red carpet for me and came to my house to do my make up before my wedding. She answered all my questions and was super friendly! Her skills are delicate with the air brush and especially with eyelash extenders! I recommend 100% every time! -

Amanda with MayRiver Makeup was great. I had a large bridal party and we had cancelations and girls that wanted to do their hair and makeup last minute. Obviously, this is not ideal but Amanda was able to accommodate and keep us on schedule. All of my girls looked so amazing and felt incredible. Amanda and Amanda were the perfect team!! They not only gave us the exact look that we wanted but also pointed us in the right direction on what's trendy. Our moms looked absolutely stunning. Everyone's makeup looked smooth, natural, and they lasted throughout the day an night. We never looked better!! For hair, just WOW! She can recreate any photo you show her. My bridal party, mother of the bride, mother of the groom and grandmothers were all part of our hair and make-up schedule. The girls did a great job coordinating our schedule (when nothing went as planned.) They were on time and made every effort to make everything perfect! Amanda did my trial and made suggestions, even sent me ideas for hair pieces afterwards! Our make-up looked flawless and lasted all night! Would highly recommend! -

I’m getting married in Beaufort, SC in October and had my hair and makeup trial with Amanda and Sarah in early April. They came to the inn I was at but also offered a local meeting place, still private, if I needed it. As someone who loves makeup, Amanda’s selection is very high quality and she was able to take a few pictures I had combined with my description and give me a look that I really enjoyed. I think I would tweak a few things and I feel very confident that she’ll pull off the perfect look come the big day. Sarah was super nice and I think we figured out what will work and look best come the big day. I put my hair through some trials throughout the day and it didn’t budge but also didn’t feel stiff. I may change my hair wishes but Sarah did a couple styles on me and she’s very talented. Both ladies and so easy to work with and laid back while being professional. I highly recommend. -

Best hair and makeup team in the low country!
Amanda and her team made my bridesmaids and I look and feel fabulous on my wedding day in June 2018! They are easy to talk to, fun, and actually listen to what you do/do not like. I was lucky enough to have them do hair and makeup for myself and some coworkers for a Valentine Ball and they all loved their hair and makeup! We received compliments all night long. Everything stayed in place and looked amazing in pictures! 10/10 recommend using them for your wedding or any special events! I will definitely be using them for the Valentine Ball again next year if they are available! Thanks y’all for being so good at what you do!!! -

I could not be more pleased with how beautiful my makeup was for my wedding, thanks to Amanda Brown Ellis! Amanda was recommended by my esthetician, and though we didn't meet in person until my wedding day, we communicated several times in the months leading up to our event so I felt completely at ease trusting in her professionalism. Amanda is prompt, friendly, fun (even doing my 9 YO daughter's makeup) and super talented! I am thrilled with how my makeup looks in the candid pictures our friends have shared, so I can only imagine how perfect our professional photos will be! AMAZING SERVICE. From the beginning to the end the customer service was amazing by all involved. Reasonable pricing vs. many others in our area. Communication was stellar with Amanda and Sarah. Both were always prompt and helpful. Sarah did a wonderful job on my hair, makeup, my bridesmaids makeup and my flower girls hair. I would recommend May River Made Up to anyone asking me for a referral. -

Wonderful Bridal Trial Session
I am getting married in Hilton Head this October, and the weekend will be a destination wedding. I've been nervous throughout the whole process, thus far, as I'm planning from my home in New York and don't know much about local vendors. I'm so excited I booked May River Made Up for my wedding! Amanda Ellis and Amanda Mizen were able to come to my parents condo while I was in town to do my hair and makeup trial. Both were right on the ball with what I am looking for on my wedding day — and it was so nice to be pampered in the comfort of my own home. I was thrilled with how both my hair and makeup turned out — and looked exactly how I envisioned it! Amanda Ellis has been super communicative throughout the whole process so far, and I know she'll make sure everything goes perfectly on my wedding day. It's such a relief to know I booked the right team! -

That you to the amazing team at May River Made Up! Becky made me feel like the most beautiful Bride with my hair and makeup for the day. There wasn’t a smudge or hair out of place by the end of the night and I felt truly bridal! Amanda and her team were awesome and made each of my girls feel beautiful! Everyone could do their hair any way they liked and the stylists did a fantastic job. 10/10 would recommend May River Made Up to any bride in the Lowcountry area! -
