From the moment we met Max, we knew we were in good hands. He is incredibly down-to-earth, warm, and bursting with creativity. He had this amazing ability to make us feel completely comfortable, which was a huge deal on our wedding day. It felt like having a friend there, not just a photographer. He was constantly checking in to make sure everything was going well, and his positive energy was contagious—he even danced with us on the floor, capturing all the fun moments along the way!
Max has an incredible eye for candid moments and didn’t miss a beat. He blended seamlessly into the celebration, chatting with our guests and making everyone feel special. One thing that really stood out to us was how calm and collected he was, even under pressure. There was a moment when some of the bridal party was a bit far from the ceremony arch, and Max subtly stepped in to make sure everything looked perfect without anyone noticing. He also worked perfectly alongside our DJ, ensuring everything went smoothly throughout the evening.
The photos turned out beyond what we could’ve imagined. Every picture beautifully captured the emotions of the day, and the editing is stunning. You can really tell Max has a great eye for both intimate moments and breathtaking landscapes.
We would absolutely recommend Max to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. He’s warm, personable, and clearly passionate about what he does. In fact, some of our guests even asked for his contact info because they were so impressed with his work!
We also had a few ideas for shots that we wanted, like some sunset photos on the swing set at the venue, and Max was all in! He made sure we got those perfect moments while also making the experience so much fun. Seeing him dancing with our friends and family and truly enjoying the night was just the cherry on top!

Max is the best! So kind, easy to work with, and the photos were outstanding. We especially loved the film photos he took. I would recommend Max to anyone, and I have! He also did my best friends' wedding and crushed that as well, despite the early sunset in November. -

Max was such a dream to work with. I hired him to shoot photos for my craniosacral therapy practice. I shared my vision and he came back to me with a very accurate run of show. The shoot was quick yet thorough, and his attention to detail was a natural extension of his creative mastery. The shoot was exactly the length of time he predicted and I received so many photos that I’m happy with. Highly recommend!! -

TLDR: Look no further. You found your wedding photographer.
Max was amazing. The entire time my (now) wife and I worked with Max, his communication was chill, responsive and professional. I had no idea how to plan a wedding, but he was super comfortable with the formatting and layout of how to plan and execute an engagement/wedding shoot. He had a super smooth online payment system, which was quick and easy.
The photos. THE PHOTOS. Stop reading this review and book Max. You found your photographer. He somehow captured the essence of traditional wedding photography, while implementing his own beautiful, creative, unique instincts . The colors are insane. The editing is insane, and was shockingly quick. His fee was also very reasonable for the mount of time he spent with us. He was easy to have around, easy to talk to, funny, and showed up dressed sharp. We still look at the photos and are extremely happy and impressed with his work.

Dashiell and Echo Wedding
We got both our engagement and wedding photos done by Max! For our engagement photos he picked the most beautiful spot in the Columbia gorge. My husband and I were both nervous because we had never had professional photos done before, but Max was able to make us laugh and relax. The turned out beautiful! For our weeding he was there the entire time, from getting ready before the wedding, to the very end of the reception. The ceremony and family photos should the love, and the reception photos showed the party! He took the photos we wanted and added his own advice and adjustment when needed. He also responded in a timely manner to any questions and was on time to both photo shoots. Cannot recommend him enough! -

We are beyond happy with our wedding photos from Max. Not only are the photos themselves absolutely stunning, but having Max as our photographer felt like having another friend there on our special day. Max is extremely fun and easy to work with and we felt so comfortable with him. He captured all the joy we felt on our wedding day so perfectly. I can’t recommend him enough! He gave us a couple hundred amazing photos and the turnaround was extremely quick. Love his editing style too. I still have people commenting on just how beautiful our photos are! -

Excellent all around
Max was a perfect fit for our wedding! He was very responsive and communicative from the beginning. Max was able to accompany us for our all-day, multiple-location set of events, spanning both indoors and outdoors. He was laid-back but professional and fit in super well with our guests. We are very pleased with all of the photos, as well as Max’s turnaround time for a preview album. Would absolutely hire Max again! -

Captures the vibe!
Max is a wonderful creative to work with. He is excellent at capturing the vibe of an event; special details, tender moments, dance party energy. As a wedding planner with Your Perfect Bridesmaid, I LOVE working with Max. I recommend him to any client looking for an easy-going, documentary photographer, and especially for clients who want to do an alternative wedding day. He's easy to work with on the vendor side, and does such a great job at capturing what clients want and being a fly on the wall to catch all the real, little moments throughout the day. -

Max Benedict is the GOAT
My husband and I hired Max to photograph our 2023 wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made! We had a limited budget and were initially on the fence about hiring a photographer—my husband has a few talented photographer friends, and he wasn’t sure it would be worth the $$… IT WAS!!!
It was also important to me to feel confident that we would have beautiful memories preserved after all the work we put into planning, as I had an intuition that the evening would fly by… IT DID!!!
I also couldn’t bear the thought of shooting hours worth of staged, posed group-photos with the typical wedding photographer. I wanted something stylish, laid back (but still chic!) and authentic… Enter, Max! He was gracious and accommodating of our budget, and the images and the experience are worth every cent. He also DELIVERED the good wedding vibes. See below for details:
Max rolls up to our getting-ready-spot as THE coolest looking wedding photographer imaginable. Effortless. Relaxed. Somehow nonchalant, yet very invested in our experience.
At our wedding ceremony, Max was a GHOST. I was like: where tf is our photographer, did he leave?? No. Max was there—silently, patiently, discreetly capturing photo after photo right under my nose. The photos imply that Max was within 15 feet of me all night long, apparently camouflaged in an elaborate costume, because I never saw him. I think he is a magician.
Our reception came and went in a flash, so I appreciated Max’s commitment to honing in on our best shots. I got whisked up quickly in a sweet flurry of conversations, as did my husband. Max made a point to organize a couple of stunning dance-floor shots between the two of us, and he was happy to oblige our closest guests who asked for 1:1 photos. All while capturing the COOLEST candid pics of our friends & family as they partied. It has been so special for us to look at those pictures and see all of our peculiar friends meeting our peculiar families… Max must have an eye for the little moments, as we received a heart-warming collection of evidence for those unlikely, charming encounters.
Cue the afterparty! Max was off the clock but we invited him to roll through and enjoy the energy; we were delighted to see him at location 2. He had a contagious smile on his face all night long, and a few friends expressed afterwards how much they enjoyed having him there. It demonstrates the kind of heart that Max has. He loves his work, he cares about the couple, he cares about the art, and he can bring the party. What more could you want?!
Every single photo is a lovely, meaningful memory. It’s true what they say about weddings, they *are* over in a blink. They are sometimes expensive and difficult to plan; emotions can run intense. Just do yourself a favor and hire Max, darn it! He has a way of taking in the whole scene and neatly summarizing it, stylishly and elegantly, without distorting anything. You’ll get to relive every beautiful moment (and reframe any wedding-day anxiety) via a stunning, mesmerizing, extensive photo album of you and your love and your loved ones.
Oh and he surprised us with some bonus film photos too. Thanks Max. We love u Max. -
