My husband I were married in Asheville on 7/4/2021 and hiring Matthew as our photographer was one of the first and best decisions we made when wedding planning. We met with 2 other photographers before making our decision. We loved Matthew’s style and we enjoyed talking with him during our initial meeting. We decided to go with the 10 hour package and the engagement session. We didn’t really think we needed to do an engagement session but we’re very glad we did. The pictures were taken in Greenville, SC and it was a great opportunity for us to interact with Matthew a little before the big day and practice taking photos together. The pictures definitely exceeded our expectations and Matthew made the experience not as awkward as we were expecting. For the wedding day Matthew came to my Airbnb to capture getting ready photos and his assistant photographer went to my husband’s Airbnb. They were both extremely professional and very flexible, especially when our ceremony went 90 minutes over. He kept checking in to make sure we got what we wanted and made the most of our shortened timeline. He sent us a sneak peak of about 70 photos a few days after the wedding and the rest about 6 weeks later, right on time despite the fact that it’s wedding season and he likely has a lot on his plate. We were blown away by the photos and we’re so glad we went with Matthew. Would 100% recommend!! -

Matthew is incredible! We originally hired him for our engagement photos in Asheville, NC. He blew us away with his artistic skills and comforting and fun personality. We knew right away we would not have anyone else capture our special day. Great news is that Matthew travels and has a special package for travel weddings, because we live in another state. Matthew is so good we even have friends booking him now from our area. The Wedding Day- Matthew and his team were phenomenal, nothing short of raw talent, hard work, and super hero abilities. I felt very comfortable with Matthew and team in our bridal suite, capturing precious memories with my bridesmaids and my mom as we got our hair and makeup done. The day had a perfect flow. Just like the drummer keeps the band together in rhythm, Matthew keeps the day together with his experience and direction. Matthew has the talent to capture real in-the-moment, raw, candid photos like no one I have ever seen. We are in love with our wedding photos, and we get so many compliments on them. I can't get over how superb the photos are and how many photos we got, I can't choose which ones I like best because everything from the first look, the ceremony, the reception and beyond are all equal contenders. We are super happy with Matthew and our photos, would book him again in a heartbeat. -

Matthew was excellent before, during, and following our big day. The wide array of memories he provided from our wedding was exactly what we wanted. We were looking for more natural pictures from the day and did not want the typical variety of "posed" pictures, and he more than delivered.
Once we received our printed album there was a small mistake with it - from the third-party vendor not Matthew. However, he sprung to action and made sure it was immediately corrected. I highly recommend choosing Matthew for your photo needs. He exceeded expectations. -

Matthew's Amazing!
Matthew is absolutely amazing. His work is beautiful and he is a chameleon... on the wedding day I'd forget he was there because he's so calm and quiet. His easy going personality was the perfect fit for my now husband and me. We are so happy we selected Matthew to do our engagement and wedding photos -he is a true artist and such a kind person. I absolutely cannot recommend him enough! -

Matthew is a total dream! His talent is incredible and his work is so unique. He already had 23 photos ready for me to see two days after the wedding and they were absolutely beautiful. Our bridesmaids and groomsmen loved him, as did our families. When my husband and I met him, we knew that he was going to be our photographer! Since we did not have a videographer, I wanted a photographer to make up for that and he sure did! -

Incredibly perfect service!
Having representative, engaging, amusing, and high quality pictures of our wedding was one of our top wedding day priorities. We searched and contacted A LOT of photographers. When we found Matthew's website gallery, we reached out. He is so polite and his energy is incredible. We were quickly sold. Matthew is quick to communicate, incredibly polite, and shares a great energy. Leading up to and on our wedding day, he was wonderfully respectful, professional, and he engaged with us and our guests exactly as we requested. He is so creative and captured everything we asked for, as well as everything important that my wife and I never thought of. He captured our wedding in VERY high quality. He had a great turn-around time on the photos and he did not skip a single step. They all look fantastic! We were provided photos with the highest resolution, as well as a matching photo that is formatted perfectly for sharing on social media - what a smart idea. He also photographed my wife's bridal session and those photos are absolutely flawless. He fit his way in with all our other vendors, namely the videographer and DJ. The wedding went seamlessly, and we have Matthew to thank for a lot of that. Top notch guy. I recommend him to everyone. -

Sarah Sent on 04/24/2018Best Decision When looking for a wedding photographer, I wanted two things. I wanted beautiful pictures (obviously) and I want pictures that captured actual moments, not staged representations. Matthew does both of those things impeccably. As I look back on our wedding photos, I tear up every time, reliving each moment as if I was there. This is because the photos capture the purest of emotions, they aren’t staged, but rather Matthew expertly captured each special moment as it happened.
I truly could not recommend Matthew more highly, he was a pleasure to work with, timely, communicative and our photographs are more than I could have ever asked for! Prior to the wedding, Matthew made us feel comfortable as we took our engagement photos. He took time to get to know our personalities and make sure that our relationship and love were the focus of our beautiful photographs. Because he did such a wonderful job with our engagement photos, I had no worries that he would do a wonderful job at the wedding. I have been to so many weddings where I see the photographer everywhere – they are in the middle of every special moment, making sure they get it on film. But to be honest, I can’t remember seeing Matthew once during the entire wedding, yet every moment is expertly photographed.
In my personal opinion, wedding photographs are one of the most important decisions you make for a wedding and I believe I made the best choice possible in choosing Matthew Pautz to do our wedding photographs.

Lee Sent on 07/08/2016Choosing Matthew Pautz as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From the day we first met with him he was friendly, professional, organizer, and great at communicating with us. He took time to get to know us and our interests as well as our vision for our wedding photos. Once the big day finally came he was a huge help in keeping us both relaxed and on schedule and capturing every moment along the way. He didn't just stand there and wait for us to ask him to take photos; he was very proactive in making sure he got shots of every detail of our wedding. Also, he did a wonderful job of blending into the background and not being a distraction to us or the guests--I didn't see him one time during the ceremony, yet he got tons of beautiful shots that we will treasure forever. I heard many comments from my family and other guests that he was a wonderful photographer--even before they saw any of the pictures--just because he was so kind and friendly and non-intrusive.
