I knew choosing Matthew Douglas Photography was right from the very beginning. I reached out with a few questions about a quote and Matt responded promptly, and answered every one of my questions very thoroughly. He and Keri were a pleasure to work with during our engagement photo session and they were great as well the day of our wedding. They got some amazing portraits of us with our bridal party and families and they captured the ceremony and reception wonderfully as well so we have these cherished memories of our wedding day. Thanks again Matt and Keri for the excellent service you provided!

June Wedding

Matt was super professional, personable, creative and made our wedding day the event we envisioned and much more! Just got our photo gallery and we are in awe of how he captured every moment so well of our magical day! I want to print every picture! Our guests all commented on how relaxed they were in his presence and I believe that played a huge role in creating so many special photos! Thank you Matt - you are simply the BEST!

Easy, fun experience, beautiful photos

Matt and his wife were absolutely wonderful, making us feel at ease taking photos and calming our nerves. We did a first look and all of our posed photos before the wedding which was wonderful and I'm so glad we did. Matt is also a ninja and I didn't even notice him during the ceremony and celebration taking photos in the background. The photos turned out really well and for two people who are critical of ourselves in photos, we're quite happy with it and that's an achievement!

Our Best Wedding Decision!

Our day would not have been a success without Matt & Carrie! The energy and enthusiasm they brought to our day provided us with excitement and confidence we didn't know was needed! In theory, photographers could passively capture images of this special day, but our team went so far above and beyond to keep our timeline in check, expertly direct our photos, and jump in with creative ideas that turned out incredibly!!! They were the only ones to out loud appreciate all of the details of the final assembled theme. Their genuine excitement to "get on board" this vintage travel train brought everything together!!

Matt & Carrie are a fabulous team with great communication skills, wonderful ideas, and each expert at their craft. They were great timeline advisors, familiar with our local venues and pros at managing multiple large family photos painlessly! Matt & Carrie's excitement about our theme was contagious and I give them full credit for keeping our spirits high on the big day by being so engaged and creative with photo ideas!!! Our day was about sharing our world travels, antiques & history, and respect for family heritage. They uncovered and captured the unique aspects we were hoping for.

Each of their talents shined differently throughout the day with Carrie having a blast with the groomsmens' new album art in Clinton and Matt totally rocking the vintage car "Hollywood glam" pics. The mirrored photos were really creative and surprising and I'm so thankful they captured the room details set up before everyone went inside! The enthusiasm and respect shared with us and our guests was a much-appreciated blessing.

Last, they must have worked so hard to share our photos before the holidays which allowed me to print Christmas cards, thank yous and Christmas gifts! I cannot thank them enough for all of their hard work, confidence boost, and effort to make our day so incredibly special!!

Absolutely Great Experience!

My fiancé and I are very uncomfortable in front of the camera. Matt and Carrie were wonderful and made us feel super comfortable! With so many things going on with the wedding planning, Matt made us feel so at ease and was so helpful throughout the wedding and planning process. We’re so happy we found them for our wedding. Their service was beyond exceptional! We would definitely use them for any future photo needs and recommend them to everyone!

So much fun to work with!

Absolutely amazing!!!

Absolutely LOVE our photos!! Matt and Carrie did such an amazing job capturing every part of our day, and helping us relive our wedding. Picking them as our photographer was the easy part of our wedding planning. Matt and Carrie are so much fun to work with and we could not be happier to have had them as part of our special day!

I’ve worked with Matthew Douglas professionally for almost 5 years- so when it came to hiring a photographer for my wedding, he and Carrie were really the only team I could imagine being there.
From our fall engagement shoot in Asbury Park, to the ceremony in Avon-by-the-Sea, to the reception at the Shadowbrook Mansion, working with Matt and Carrie was always so easy and fun!
They made the entire bridal party laugh, kept our parents feeling relaxed, and were critical in helping to coordinate our massive family photos. All this while always maintaining their professionalism and fantastic creativity.
I couldn’t say “thank you” enough on the wedding day, and I’m not sure if I ever will be able to!

Loved working with Matthew Douglas! Met them at a bridal show and were immediately impressed. Ended up using Matt for our engagement photos and wedding. Matt and his Carrie were EXCELLENT! Very energetic, personable, and easy to work with. They honestly made the whole process so easy for us which was a huge plus with all the headaches of wedding planning. Most importantly the photos they took and our wedding album came out great! They did an amazing job with both the "staged" photos before the wedding and the "live action" shots from the ceremony and reception. Would definitely recommend Matthew Douglas Photography!

If I could give Matt and Carrie more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! When first meeting with photographers I was nervous and wasn't sure what I was really looking for, but the day that I met with Matt it 100% clicked. He is so laid back and friendly, and had a very similar sense of humor to my husband, so I knew it would be a match made in heaven! I wanted to make sure I was super comfortable with whoever was going to be following us around all day snapping pictures of us, and Matt and Carrie were the best, a perfect working couple together! Their work is simply breathtaking. I have quite a few photos from the wedding that people have said, wow that should be in a wedding magazine! Amazing work, I couldn't have asked for better!! Thank you so much!!

Matt and Carrie are talented photographers and we couldn't recommend them more highly. They'll put you at ease if you ever feel awkward while posing for photographs. They are also incredibly organized at making sure you get endless photos you will cherish later (especially if you have a large and disorganized family /wedding party). We couldn't have more positive things to say about Matt and Carrie! We just got our wedding photos and they were absolutely amazing...we were able to re-live the day just by looking through the photos. They both went over and beyond our expectations in the quality of their work and the professionalism they pride themselves on leading up to and during the day of the wedding. Our wedding had 225 people and following our post ceremony photos Matt and Carrie were in full force with their "ninja" style of photography capturing so many fantastic candid shots of the wedding and our guests. Matt and Carrie are both wonderfully friendly and extremely easy to work with and it was undoubtedly the right decision having them be our photographers for our special day. There wasn't a special moment missed!

What a pleasure it has been working with Matthew Douglas Photography! From the moment we met Matt we knew that he would be a perfect fit for our wedding. Matt and his wife worked as an excellent team and truly captured our wedding day in ways we did not even know was possible! It was comforting to work with someone who was so familiar with not only our reception location but also the surrounding area. He knew all of the perfect spots for pictures and made sure that everything happened on time, which can be a challenge with such a large bridal party! Matt made us feel at ease throughout the planning process and in front of the camera, during our engagement photos and on our big day. His creative and unique approach to photography, and his flexibility and professionalism are just a few of the many reasons that we are grateful for Matt and his work. I chose Matt for my wedding photography because of the unique style he has and the simple yet beautiful photographs he takes. I was not disappointed. We had a great engagement session that was included in our package and I chose to purchase several of the photos. It was great to get to meet with him during the engagement session so we felt more comfortable with him on our wedding day. The wedding day, Matt was there right on time and ready to go. He was adamant about getting the pictures we wanted taken that way we could enjoy our cocktail hour and reception. He wasn't intrusive at all like some photographers could be, and never pulled us away from any special moments. I can't wait to get my wedding album back! Right after I choose the photos for it, which will be tough since he took SO many! Thanks Matt!

We just received our photos yesterday and they are amazing! Matt is a lifesaver. He agreed to shoot our wedding less than a week before the wedding date after our original photographer took ill. He was flexible, creative, and able to put us at ease in order to capture very natural looking shots. Matt remained unobtrusive yet vigilant and memorialized every important moment of our day. His work beautifully tells a stunning story of our wedding. We couldn't be happier and would recommend him to anyone!

I got married on May 26, 2012 and Matthew Douglas was my photographer. From the time I first met Matthew I new I was making a good choice. He is down to earth, flexable, and his prices are very resonable. He was on time to the chrurch and the reception and took beautiful pictures of not only myself and the groom but my bridal party and great pictures of all of my wedding guests. I love the way my pictures turned out and I love my wedding book. He is a great photographer!!

Matthew Douglas Photography’s team – Matt and his wife Kerry– captured all the amazing moments from our wedding day. They were very professional, but also very fun to work They made sure we got, as Matt put it, “Mom will kill me if I don’t take these” pictures, but they also got a lot of pictures just documenting us being ourselves, with our bridal party, just a short while after the wedding. They really captured the joy in the moment. They knew we had a lot of pictures we wanted to get in at different locations , and Matt kept us organized and knew exactly what shots he wanted to set up. This made things easy for us and kept us moving along. Their photography at the wedding was equally impressive. We have sometimes commented on weddings we have been to that the photographer or videographer can at times be intrusive in trying to get those perfect shots, which sometimes disrupts a great moment. Matt and Kerry somehow managed to capture all of those moments, but we barely noticed they were there. At one point I did look up and see Matt perched on a speaker, trying to get the best angle of what was a packed dance floor – pretty impressive, and a man dedicated to his craft! Not only were Matt and Kerry the best photographers we could have asked for, but they were like jack-of-all-trades for a wedding. Matt was on the scene with extra safety pins for the girls dresses. Kerry put on all the groomsmen’s boutonnières and came to the rescue with a sewing kit when the best man lost a button on his vest. Finally, when a family member had to deal with a health issue, Matt, who is a trained EMT, was kind enough to assist and ensure everyone stayed calm. We don’t think many other photographers could have taken such a beautiful set of wedding photos, but even if they could have, we are certain no one would be as much of a pleasure to work with as Matt and Kerry. We just received our proofs and we have no idea how we are going to select just a few!

Matthew is amazing and at the end of our wedding, I felt like he was part of the family! We got married in the Clinton area of NJ and could not have picked a better photographer, he knows every inch of the area and took us to the most beautiful and creative places for our pictures.. his professionalism and knowledge are just unmatched you will not find a better photographer trust me!
Not only is Matthew professional, but he is so down to earth and willing to help with EVERYTHING! My bridesmaids were having some trouble lacing up the back of my dress, Matthew was right in there to help them and when we took pictures, he found a pin from the tailor still in my dress, he made sure to pull it out so I didn't get stuck, and lastely, when all the groomsmen and the Groom were having trouble pinning on their boutinierre's Matthew pinned them on all of them!! And when we took our Engagement photos, he spent all the time he needed to with us to give us so many different shots and even bought us coffee afterwards!! He is just the nicest guy and really cares about his clients. I really cant imagine another photographer that has the talent that he has, the professionalism that he has and the willingness to go so far above and beyond for his clients.
If you are lucky enough to have Matthew as an option, I could not recommend him more highly. These are pictures you will have for the rest of your life, and there is no one else I would trust more then Matthew with capturing those memories.

Matt is an amazing photographer and a genuine great guy. I met him at a bridal show and fell in love with his work. We absolutely loved working with him and both our engagement shoot and wedding photos captured us perfectly. He clearly loves what he does and it shows in his work. ALL I CAN SAY IS PERFECT!
We came across Matt at a Bridal Show at our Reception hall- We took a look at his photos and liked what we saw, and thought he seemed extremely nice and professional. We made an appt with him, and we knew he was perfect for our wedding. We set up an engagement photo shoot with him in the fall before our wedding- He spent over an hour with us, taking such beautiful pictures. He was personable, funny and made us feel so comfortable! After we saw the results, we couldn’t wait for our wedding.
Matt showed up at my parent’s house early- His wife went to the hotel to take photos of my husband and the groomsmen. Matt was so nice, and everyone felt comfortable around him. He took some great photos of me getting ready. We then headed into Clinton where we took SOO many beautiful shots- The photos came out great. Matt spent the whole day with us ( approx 12 hours).
People actually tell me that the photos look like they came right out of a bridal magazine. We couldn’t have been MORE pleased with the outcome.
We will be using matt for any future photography that we will need, and I would truly recommend him to anyone.

We did an engagement session with Matt and had a guest book of those pictures it was great (not a lot signed the guest book but It's still fabulous). He is very easy to get a hold of throughout the whole process. He arrived on time with his second photographer which happened to be his wife. They were fast, efficient, and fun to be with. He really put us at ease. He set up a laptop of pictures we took throughout the day, it was a great preview! Some of our shots were up on his blog only a week later and our proofs were ready 2 weeks after the wedding! I highly recommend them.

What incredible professionals! From the moment we met with Matt to review his work and pricing before we chose our photographer, we were beyond sure that he was going to be the one! His creative journalistic style with photography is what drew us to him and his work.
Matt and his wife Carrie are an amazing duo! The day of our wedding they were there even before I, the bride, arrived at our venue! They were ready to start shooting the moment I walked in the door with my entourage! During the day, we never once noticed them (unless they pulled us aside for a "must have" shot). In fact, when reviewing some friends pictures, we noticed where they were and we never once remember seeing them take those particular pictures! VERY STEALTH! During our family pictures after the wedding, we have never seen such organization! They had our family pics done in no time so that we could get to our cocktail hour asap!
The proofs, which came in 3 weeks after the wedding (wow, FAST!), were absolutely, hands down, FABULOUS! Between the 2 of them, we had over 1000 proofs to go through. All of them screaming emotion from the day and letting us relive our day, tears and all!
All in all, we are/were extremely pleased with their services and the photographs taken. We can't wait to start picking out pictures for our album (I don't know how we plan to not pick all of them!) and being able to really put our story together as a beautiful keepsake.
Matt and Carrie are true professionals, they know how to run the wedding party and get the most important pictures of the day. What we love about their style is that they are able to capture the most candid, raw moments. The moments that we choose to remember on our wedding day and they did just that! They captured moments that we didn't even realize were there on the day of.
What a huge pleasure to have them share our special day! Our friends and family cannot stop saying enough good things about them and how considerate they were. We are still talking about how incredibly pleased we were!

Matt is a complete professional that made us feel comfortable and at home in front of the camera. During our engagement session and on our wedding day Matt allowed us to be ourselves and didn't force us into awkward formal poses. Matt is inventive and his pictures show his creativity and passion for photography. We loved having Matt as our photographer! He was there on time and got us through all of our pictures before our ceremony, so we were able to relax and enjoy the night. Matt was so unobtrusive that I almost forgot he was at the reception, but I have beautiful and funny pictures to show me otherwise. I am looking forward to seeing my bridal album and I am positive that I will be happy and impressed.

His responses to all inquiries (from scheduling times to meet, planning our engagement session and finally coordinating on our wedding day) were timely and thorough. He not only anticipated the needs of us as the bride and groom, but was also responsive to those requests of our families such as taking a family group shot.

The photography packages offered are generous and of high quality. Not only did we walk away with 1200 proofs in hand (within 3 weeks of our wedding!), but there were digital proofs to share through an easily accessible online account to share with wedding guests. Everyone has the opportunity to view the proofs and select those they enjoy. Matt and his wife, Carrie, were a tremendous team. They seemed to be "everywhere" without notice (very James Bond) to capture candid moments. We were pleasantly surprised to see that each of our 200 guests were photographed!

As a couple, we found Matt and Carrie to be personable and engaging, putting us both at ease even with the nervous anticipation of the day. He is truly skilled as a photographer capturing the "story" of our day perfectly with meticulous attention to detail and beautiful artistry. The photographs capture the essence of the emotions in play to bring us back to that moment in a heartbeat. We will truly treasure these photographs of our wedding day throughout our marriage. We cannot recommend Matthew Douglas Photography highly enough!

Matthew was very easy to work with. Our pictures came out great and we couldn't be happier with how he dealt with us, our guests, and the other vendors he had to work with during our wedding day.

Matthew is nothing short of SPECTACULAR!!!! We interviewed a number of photographers and knew instantly that Matthew was the right fit for our special day. Matthew makes you feel comfortable and confident immediately. His professionalism and support cannot be matched. I sincerely cannot imagine being this happy with anyone else. I would recommend Matthew to every single dear friend and family member.
We also really enjoyed our engagement photo session and it was a terrific way to get to know each other before the wedding :) I recommend that too!
