From the moment Jason first contacted me, I felt heard, comfortable, and confident that he was the photographer we wanted for our wedding. He was incredibly communicative and attentive to every detail, even from miles away. He kept us updated on his travel plans from the moment he landed in Utah, and from the very beginning he was so warm and genuine that it felt like I had known him my whole life.
Before the wedding, he took the time to meet our families, walk us through his creative vision, and make sure we felt completely comfortable. He was flexible, understanding, and adapted effortlessly to anything the day threw at us.
On our wedding day, Jason went far beyond being just our photographer and videographer. He became another helping hand—always making sure I had everything I needed, anticipating little details before I even had to ask. If I could give more stars, I absolutely would. Jason was one of the best people we worked with throughout the entire wedding process. He answered every question with patience and excitement, and he genuinely took the time to get to know us as people.
You can tell Jason truly loves what he does. There were moments I’d forget he was a professional photographer because everything felt so natural and effortless, like having a good friend by our side. His energy, kindness, and passion made the day even more special.

Graceland 10 Year Wedding Renewal
Wedding Anniversary at Graceland Chapel in Memphis, Tennessee. One of the things I was most anxious about was finding an amazing photographer as we wanted the best pictures possible for one of the most incredible memories of our lifetime. As we were not from Memphis, we relied on the wedding coordinator of Graceland Chapel to give us a referral to a photographer. Jason is whom was recommended to us and we were blown away by his professionalism and his talent. From the minute Jason walked in the door of the chapel we loved him. I let Jason know right away that I suffer from an Auto Immune issue called POTS which can cause me to pass out at any given moment, especially in the heat and and the next thing I know as I was putting on my Wedding dress in the dressing room, Jason had been in the chapel studying up on POTS.
He immediately came to me and asked me if I needed water as he said he had read that POTS patients need to stay hydrated. I was highly impressed that he took the time to read up on my condition to see how he could assist in making my Wedding go as smoothly as possible. Jason was so professional at taking photos that I honestly only remember seeing the camera twice, but he took a ton of photos. I remember asking him if he had taken pictures towards the beginning of the wedding because I literally never saw the camera in his hand. He was so quick and so professional I didn't even know he was taking pictures.
Jason is great at catching pictures in the moment while things are happening naturally, but he also was able to take pictures of a few things that we specifically requested for ideas of photos that my husband and I had planned out.
Jason has the type of personality that if you meet him once you feel like you have known him your entire life. The pictures turned out absolutely amazing. Jason got the editing done and the pictures sent over to us long before the date in which he promised. He surpassed all of our expectations and made our dream Wedding Renewal come true. We highly recommend Jason for all and any of your photography needs. He truly goes above and beyond!

Amazing wedding photographer!
Jason did a great job photographing our small ceremony! We really had no idea what we were doing and Jason took the lead, knew exactly where we should go for the best lighting, and took some really great candids of everyone during the event. I always feel a little uncomfortable getting photographed but Jason was so easy to talk to, which made it easy to relax and get some good photos. I never felt like he was asking us to do something that wasn’t natural for us, and he did his best to make sure he captured our real personalities. The photos turned out perfect. I’d recommend him to anyone! Easily one of the best wedding decisions I made.

My husband Taylor and I hired Jason (Matt Phoenix Photography) to shoot our engagement as well as our wedding and WOW... we are so grateful we did!! Jason is hands down the best photographer we have ever known and his photos left us breathless. I'm generally very shy in front of a camera and don't consider myself photogenic but when we saw our photos I was amazed. He has an eye that is a God given gift. It takes someone with great talent to see things the way he does. Nothing ever felt "posed" or inorganic at all. On our wedding day, I was running really behind. I was nervous, frazzled, and in a hurry. When I arrived at the venue Jason was very calm, cool and collected. He made us feel at ease and made the entire experience easy. He kept telling us “it’s okay! Everything is fine.” His work is top notch. Within the hour he had sent us a sample of our pictures. I HIGHLY recommend Jason as your wedding photographer. I would give him 100 more stars if I could. We booked him based on his reviews, and he did not disappoint. He was so accommodating and spent time explaining everything I needed to know ahead of the wedding day. He gave the perfect amount of direction the day of the wedding and our sample photos were delivered the NIGHT OF THE WEDDING!! His pictures are absolutely stunning. He is super professional, very polite, and I cannot thank him enough for shooting our big day! His price is extremely fair especially for the quality of his photos. We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer. Jason is not only amazing at what he does but is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. He blew us away. All of our guests loved him. Best wedding decision I’ve made!
Just do it - book your wedding with Jason, you won’t regret it at all!! From the moment I was first in contact with him, he was so helpful and knowledgeable. I’m not from the Memphis area and he even pointed me in the direction of which venues to look at. He took the time on our consultation call to walk me through what my wedding would look like and answered any questions I had! I was even looking for a videographer and he helped find one for me. We had our engagement pictures with him and right off the bat my fiancé and I were so comfortable! We had so much fun and Jason guided us through the entire process. We even got the pictures back insanely fast! When I tell you he’s the best of the best, he truly is! I cannot wait for him to capture my wedding in October!

Where do I even begin. Jason has been fabulous from the beginning. I love how we does a phone call with you prior to booking so you know what to fully expect every step of the way. My fiancé and I just had our engagement session with Jason and we loved it!! We had so much fun and he really got to know us as a couple! The turn around with the pictures was amazing! The pictures are beautiful! I had trouble picking out which ones to use on our save the dates because there were so many that I loved! He really captured the natural happiness and the love in our pictures! The pictures are 100% where we can look at them and say yeah that is us! Let me start by saying that Jason is amazing. Very easy to talk to and extremely flexible. When we weren’t able to do engagement pictures due to an issue with us, he came to our afterparty and took pictures there!! I cannot express how happy me and my husband were and are with Jason. He was incredibly easy to work with and talk too from the first phone call, through the months of waiting, the last days, and the day of. He worked quickly, smoothly, and got us so many fun, natural, and posed pictures. He was so far above and beyond, he wasn’t stiff and was so laid back that he made our day start to finish so perfect. When we need a photographer again for something else I would 1000% rehire him. His attitude throughout the day never got dull and he made taking pictures really enjoyable.

We had the most incredible experience with Jason. He was amazing to work with and made sure to actually get to know us as a couple. He is great with elderly guests, kids, and animals! (we brought our dog for a few pictures before the ceremony) With a wedding party of 32, it was similar to herding cats.. A good decision
Jason, simply put, is the best. Right from the very beginning, he fit right in with all of us, making jokes, and making us all feel comfortable and excited. One of my friends noted to me on the day, "I liked that Jason just told us to turn up the music and pop the champagne and just have fun; that was really cool." What I was looking for in a photographer is someone who would take pictures of us and I would look like myself, not a heavily edited version of myself. The pictures we got back were beyond my wildest dreams. Jason did not miss a single detail throughout the day. Not only did he get candids and some posed shots, but he got moments with my friends and family that I didn't get to see on the day. The absolute best
Jason is the most wonderful person to be around. He feels more like a friend than a vendor. My entire family absolutely loved him. He captured our love so beautifully. He is kind, patient, fun, and exudes love. He worked well with the videography I hired as well. He put in extra effort before and during the wedding to make sure they were on the same page. I cannot express in words how awesome his work is. It’s incredible. He made us feel so us. We used him for our engagement pictures as well as our wedding and will continue to use him for any and all photo needs moving forward. I 11/10 recommend Matt Phoenix Photography to anybody looking for a photographer to capture their big day. He also sent us previews so quickly which is always a plus.

Jason is amazing!
Jason was absolutely fantastic! He was easy to reach whenever my wife and I thought of any shots we wanted to have. He made the entire process easy, and his eye for detail and capturing the moment was consistent and thorough. We could tell he had years of experience with photography, as he came prepared with plenty of great ideas for different lighting settings (indoor and outdoor), while also always being willing to accommodate our ideas. Honestly my favorite pictures he took of us were during the moments I didn't realize he was taking pictures.
The next time we need a professional, I'm going to try and book him again!

Engagement Session
Jason was such a pleasure to work with! We hired him as a wedding photographer and didn’t need the full hours so he allowed us to use some of the time for an engagement session with no extra cost! Jason was very flexible and easy to work with when scheduling our session. My fiancé and I don’t have much experience in front of the camera but he made our session so easy and fun! Highly recommend.

Absolutely Fantastic Wedding Photos
We had a fabulous photographer for our small wedding from Matt Phoenix photography—Jason snapped and edited some gorgeous photos for our I-do re-do as a result of Covid (a second small wedding party) and let me tell you—Jason did a fabulous job! We are extremely appreciative of his efforts to not only work on scheduling our first wedding, but then rescheduling when everything shut down and providing us with some of the best wedding photographs I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing. 10/10 would hire again!

Amazing shoot
From the very first email, Jason was so professional and helpful! After our engagement shoot, I felt like we'd been friends for years so I was so excited to see the photos! Well, I just got the email and they are absolutely perfect! We could not be happier with Jason as our photographer!!!

Jason was so hands on and just as excited about our big day as we were. 100/10
I couldn’t be any happier with Jason! Starting with our engagement photos. It was over 100 degrees outside that day and he never once tried to rush or complain. He was so passionate about everything right off the bat that I just knew our wedding pictures would be everything that I wanted. He was so patient with our crazy bridal party, very intentional and careful with each photo, and made sure the background was clean and everyones faces were showing. He also, got our pictures back to us in only a week after the wedding. If you want to guarantee an awesome end result go with Jason! You won’t regret it.

You can't go wrong with Jason
When we were figuring out vendors, I mentioned to my now-husband that I didn't want to do forced poses and wanted to focus on candid moments. He brought up Jason, who was the photographer at one of his friend's wedding. From the get go, Jason was amazing. We were on the same page in terms of what was important to us. Our photos came out wonderful. You can see the genuine-ness in our faces throughout the day, nothing looks forced.
Beyond the photos and professionalism, Jason is a HOOT. He is so much fun to work with and is easy to be relaxed around. I got so much positive feedback from my family members about him.
Seriously, if you want a fun, laid-back, professional photographer and some beautifully classic photos, go with Jason.

An absolute blast!
Jason was great! He was super flexible and listened to everything we wanted which was very awesome given the pandemic. He made what I thought would be super awkward engagement pictures, super fun and very memorable! I loved that he captured us perfectly and made us look like us, not something staged. Jason was also open and excited about new ideas, ie. our “Champagne War” pictures. Would 10/10 recommend!!

Our wedding was tonight and I couldn’t wait to post a review about how incredible he is!! He made the entire experience great! He thrives on candid shots but was directing people perfectly as necessary. He was so nice and made sure Cameron and I were authentically enjoying ourselves in our pictures. He also kept showing us pictures as we took them so we’d be able to tweak anything if we wanted to! I literally cannot say enough good things about him, it was the best investment ever, and we’ll be recommending him to everyone we know!

Calm in the Storm
I cannot say enough about Jason. From the moment I reached out, he was responsive, FUNNY, knowledgeable, flexible, and just downright amazing. We booked an April wedding, but COVID cancelled it about a month before. Could we bump it out to November? SURE! Could we change it from a Saturday to a Sunday? SURE! Then, I meet him. Right away, he feels like one of the family! Charming, personable, easy-going. We laughed over everything from 80's movies, to music that made us feel old. He took pictures of things I didn't even know I wanted to remember. He guided us (and our big, confusing family) through the standard pictures in record time. The consummate professional, I would HIGHLY recommend Jason to anyone without qualm. I could tell from some of the previews he showed me, I will have plenty of lifelong, beautiful memories. Best vendor of the night!

Jason was a dream to work with. During a stressful time, especially because of the pandemic, Jason was very helpful and flexible.
Jason was a dream to work with from the beginning. I called him and told him our plans to get married within two months. Because of COVID-19, he was very flexible and open to my ideas for doing traditional shots in a non-traditional way. We traveled from out of town for our wedding didn’t know anyone in Memphis and our wedding venue has Matt Phoenix as an option for photography. I cannot tell you how amazing Jason was to work with from beginning to end. His personality is infectious which immediately put us at ease. His eye for detail to get the right shot is incredible and his flexibility and willingness to get what you want out of the day shines through. We had the best time with him and working with a big group was a cake walk for him. I highly recommend him and any bride would be lucky to have him as he would say “dead smack in your face”. Jason you made my wedding day perfect and for that Keith and I are forever grateful!!

Worlds best wedding photogropher
Jayson was perfect. He made our day perfect. He was flexible and personable! He let us be the captain of our wedding while giving his professional input! He even showed us pics during the shoot and fistbumps on awesome shots! Whole wedding loved him. We were getting multiple complements from tons of people at our wedding! Absolute perfection
From the moment we reached out to Jason to discuss our wedding, we were completely sold. His responsiveness was so refreshing during the coordination of multiple factors typically involved in wedding planning. My husband and I chose to elope somewhere we’d never been, so were in need of someone who could give us suggestions of the best locations for photos and the actual ceremony. Jason provided that for us in spades. His enthusiasm for each aspect of our day gave us such confidence that we were in the most capable of hands. He thought of important details even our wedding planner overlooked, like ensuring all parked cars were removed from the ceremony site background. We are so grateful to have met and worked with Jason and would recommend him to anyone, in any location, at any time of year.
