  Highly recommend

  If you're thinking about booking with Matt, stop thinking and just book it. You won't regret it. His prices and packages are clear and fair. He explains everything, and walks you through your sessions to make you feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible. My husband is not a picture guy whatsoever, but after five minutes, you would've thought they were best friends. On our wedding day, he arrived when you tell him to, and leaves when you tell him to. Matt is also a real hoot, so get ready for some laughs. On our wedding day, his second shooter was Adam, and neither of these guys disappointed. They're professional and a barrel of laughs.

  Fantastic experience!

  Matt and Kendall were FANTASTIC. I got to have several pre-wedding calls with Matt and really enjoyed his laid back, professional, and humorous approach. He was great about getting my input as to what I wanted to prioritize (mostly wanted candid/documentary-style shots) and also suggested some cool elements I never would have thought of. I'm glad we opted for an engagement shoot because it gave us a chance to get to know each other's styles. Matt prepped a sneak peek when I requested a few photos for family members shortly after the wedding, and the full set came a few weeks later. Going through them in order was amazing - the set really captured moments during the day so clearly, which is so valuable since you can't be everywhere at once and you'll inevitably miss little things during your day (I particularly loved a series in which it was super obvious that my dad had no idea how to tie a bowtie, shoutout to Kendall for noticing)! All of this humor and attention to detail was really lovely, not to mention use of light and creative posing. Highly recommend.

  Matt Ferrara is fantastic- he did our engagement photos and our wedding photos. His pricing is extremely reasonable. He and his team are nothing short of extraordinary- Matt is fun to work with, talented, and creative! Our engagement photos were a blast, and for our wedding, he became a favorite of the wedding party- and took AMAZING photos. The quality is exquisite. I could go on, but I will just say that if you hire Matt, you will not be disappointed.

  Matt is the absolute best

  I got married last Friday. Matt had been the photographer for my sisters wedding six years prior so we used him because I knew his quality of work was great. But let me just say, he and Mackenzie were extraordinary!!!! When the day got a little hectic and things were going airy. He kept us at ease and added humor and fun. His happy, positive personality was contagious. Not only did we love working with him, but my wedding party and guests raved about how wonderful he and Mackenzie were. They made sure to get all the pictures I wanted, they were constantly in the middle of the action snapping photos. They did a great job, wrangling a very long wedding party. I cannot say how fortunate we were to work with them. You will not be disappointed if you use him!

  We hired Matt Ferrara for our wedding and we couldn’t be happier. Matt has an amazing skill and personality which is important as he is there for some of the biggest and most intimate moments of a wedding. He made us feel comfortable and directed everyone. I gave him a very long list of shots I wanted and he professionally and quickly got them all done, helping round people up, line up the shot, and even entertain the 1 year old flower girl long enough to get some great pictures. We had guests and bridal party members complimenting our photographer, saying how nice and fun he was. Even Matt’s second shooter was amazing, dancing on the dance floor and having a good time with everyone. It definitely helped our guests let loose in front of the camera and helped us get some really fun shots on the dance floor. I could go on, but overall we are so happy with our decision to hire Matt and would highly recommend!

  Photography Perfection!

  How can we describe Matt as a photographer? Kind, funny, SUPERBLY talented, able to make even the most anxious family members relax and smile, creative, finder-of-the-light, professional, timely, and a joy to be around.
  
  We had the distinct pleasure of working with Matt for variety of wedding-related events this summer. When we first met with him over coffee, his passion for his work, his commitment to each couple he photographs, and his talent were evident, as was his expertise in PVD/RI photography- the ideas he had were abundant and we left our first meeting feeling like we'd known him for years. When we shared with him that we were planning a non-traditional wedding with an elopement and a reception in Providence later that summer, he was immediately on board. He went above and beyond in capturing our engagement photos, our reception photos, and even traveled to Greece where he captured the most gorgeous photos of our elopement.
  
  Matt exceeded all of our (admittedly high) expectations and did so with such an ease, kindness, professionalism, and joy. He was FUN to be around. We became fast friends with him, as did everyone at our wedding, and will value this relationship for a very long time- we feel so privileged to have met him (and his lovely wife). He is the kind of photographer who will capture an intimate 2-person elopement with the same panache as a 90 person dance party and I have no doubt he would bring the same skill to a 300 person bash or a family photo shoot. He shoots with film, digital, and even some fun tricks (e.g. he used a Super-8 in Greece) and delivers a full photo gallery in a timely fashion.
  
  The best decision in our wedding planning was hiring Matt and we cannot recommend him enough!

  I can't say enough positive things about our experience with Matt! From our first meeting until we received our photos, he was so professional, so talented, and so much fun to be around! It doesn't take long for you to feel like you're hanging out with an old friend, which makes it so much easier to relax and enjoy the whole process of having your pictures taken. We were blown away by the quality of the pictures and the incredible shots he was able to get for us, especially while we were out in the rain at the end of the night. (If you're nervous about it raining on your wedding day, don't be! Matt turns it into some amazing photos! We actually ended up being happy that it did rain a bit.) We didn't even realize just how much effort he puts into getting the perfect shot until we got the footage back from our videographer, who was able to capture Matt doing a few things we didn't notice during the wedding. From the initial meeting you get the sense for the type of organized professional he is, with the added bonus of being hilarious. We used him for our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos and are in love with every single photo that was taken. He has such an artistic eye which made for some breathtaking photos, and gave us the perfect balance of candids vs formals. We are so happy with how everything turned out and love that he captured all the little details of the day with such creativity. He managed to blend into the background so that people weren't aware of the camera, so every picture shows genuine emotion. Adam was the second shooter at our wedding and was equally as talented!   We used Matt as our photographer in a pinch when our initial photographer backed out on us. It was a blessing in disguise because we couldn't have imagined a more focused, artistic, and passionate individual for the job. Not only is he a great guy, but he takes unbelievable pictures. One thing I really enjoyed about matt was his appreciation for seeking out the perfect shot in the moment. We trusted him to follow his instincts and vision and he absolutely didn't disappoint. He was so down to earth, and easy to work with but still very regimented and motivated to stick to our timeline. Our photos were completely edited and visible to us within a couple weeks!! It was such a pleasant surprise to be able to enjoy and pass along the amazing memories of our day while it was still fresh in friends and families' minds. I would love to work with matt again and would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to capture any special memories!

  Matt is an amazing photographer and a wonderful person. We are so lucky to have had him and his second shooter Kendall (who was amazing as well) for our wedding photos. He captured every single important moment of our wedding day, which is a huge task for an Indian wedding. Matt was very professional but also so fun, telling jokes throughout the day...our bridal party and families absolutely loved him! We are definitely not used to having a bunch of cameras on us but Matt made it feel fun and not awkward at all, and was able to capture our true emotions perfectly. An added plus was how quickly Matt got us our sneak peak and our final pictures, which were all absolutely amazing. I am so so SO happy that we had Matt as our wedding photographer and I will definitely be recommending him to all my friends in the future :)

  Matt Ferrara is the greatest photographer ever! My husband and I worked with Matt for both our engagement photo shoot and our wedding day. We are both awkward picture takers and Matt’s sense of humor allowed us to loosen up and his talent resulted in incredible photos. He easily navigated complicated family dynamics and captured once-in-a-lifetime moments without ruffling the feathers of any family members involved. At no time throughout the day did anyone feel fatigue from posing or bored throughout the process. That’s saying a lot considering there were two teenagers in our wedding party! He was able to gently command attention when staging the formal shots and blended into the background when taking the candid ones. I don’t recall seeing him at all during the ceremony or other major events of the day. Honestly, some of his shots are so beautifully staged, we have no idea how he captured them! Matt was incredibly flexible traveling to multiple locations and his personality made it easy to work with him. Even our wedding guests found him charming. He felt more like an old friend than a hired vendor. We highly recommend Matt Ferrara and are so thankful for his stunning photos that will forever act as mementos of our wedding day. FIVE STARS!!!

  We loved working with Matt! He's professional and very very talented. We definitely recommend doing engagement photos as they help you get comfortable with him and make your wedding day much easier. Matt got our photos back to us faster than we could have ever imagined and were very happy with how beautiful they came out. The day of, he spent all day with us, which was great as he captured so many special moments outside the ceremony and reception. He brought a second shooter who was also very professional and funny. Having the two of them was perfect!

  Matt was such an incredible photographer to work with for our engagement photos and our wedding photos. He is funny which helps keep the mood positive while taking photos! He is creative and helps pose us to capture some great shots. We got our engagement and wedding photos within 2 weeks after the events which blew my mind! He was recommended to us by Jarret Blinkhorn with JB Horn Film and they are the best duo ever! I loved how they vibed off each other to create something magical!

  My husband and I really loved Matt, along with his second shooter for the day, Kendall! He made us feel really comfortable (starting with our engagement session as a nice "practice run"), and he blended into the background with our guests, so I never felt like there was a camera in my face all day. He was super professional and handled our giant bridal party so well.
  
  Matt's pricing and packages were super flexible, and reasonably priced. He allowed us to wait until the last minute to decide (re: have enough money in the budget) if we wanted to add on the photo booth option. We did and I'm so glad. Matt's photo booth was him taking the pictures himself and prompting our guests to make funny faces and poses. Our friends and family LOVED it, and I thought it was much better than the traditional photo booths where you hop in and out.
  
  Matt's photos came out beautifully as well. I was stunned to see them in my inbox 4 days after our wedding (granted we got married in the off season, but he wasted no time - that's service!). I have gotten so many compliments on our wedding photos. Matt documented the day better than I could have imagined. I really can’t say enough great things about him. I would recommend him to any bride in the Providence/Boston/New England area.

He was super professional and handled our giant bridal party so well.
  
  Matt's pricing and packages were super flexible, and reasonably priced. He allowed us to wait until the last minute to decide (re: have enough money in the budget) if we wanted to add on the photo booth option. We did and I'm so glad. Matt's photo booth was him taking the pictures himself and prompting our guests to make funny faces and poses. Our friends and family LOVED it, and I thought it was much better than the traditional photo booths where you hop in and out.
  
  Matt's photos came out beautifully as well. I was stunned to see them in my inbox 4 days after our wedding (granted we got married in the off season, but he wasted no time - that's service!). I have gotten so many compliments on our wedding photos. Matt documented the day better than I could have imagined. I really can’t say enough great things about him. I would recommend him to any bride in the Providence/Boston/New England area.

  Matt is the absolute best! After we admired his beautiful work at a friend's wedding in Rhode Island, we knew we wanted someone like Matt for our wedding in Chicago. Turns out he is very willing to travel! Even with the travel, it was a still better deal than what we likely would have found locally, plus we already knew how talented he was. He is a fun, easy-going guy who seamlessly fit into our group of friends -- and this was evident in the photographs. If you're looking for beautiful photos that capture an event in a creative but also very natural style, Matt is your man. He was never obtrusive and there was no need for awkward poses. We are 100% thrilled with the results and would recommend him highly.

  We love our wedding photos so much!!! Matt (and the second shooter, Chris) captured the day so beautifully; I relive every happy moment through his stunning photos. Everyone who sees them said there’s not a bad photo in the bunch (and there are soooo many photos!). I loved Matt’s style and think it really complemented the fun, easygoing, happy atmosphere of our day. He was very unobtrusive and no one even saw him during the ceremony, yet he got wonderful shots!   This review has been a long time coming: my husband and I hired Matt to photograph our June 2014 wedding. We had hired a different photographer initially who had to cancel because the birth of his child coincided with the wedding. Matt was recommended to us by another couple that had hired him for their wedding.
  
  From our first meeting with Matt, we knew he was by far a better fit for us than the first photographer had been. He was funny, personable, and just very pleasant to work with. His work is bright and he captures the right mix of your standard posed pictures and phenomenal candid moments. The thing that touched us the most was how well he interacted with my husband's two children (4 and 6 years old). He invited them to our engagement shoot and made them laugh the entire time. The photos we have of the kids reacting to Matt are some of our favorites! The kids liked him so much they remembered him as soon as they saw him on the wedding day.
  
  Matt is the type of person you enjoy having around you: while he was with me on my wedding day there was no awkwardness (my biggest fear) with a photographer in the room. He interacted with all my bridesmaids and made them feel completely comfortable as well.
  
  The little touches Matt brought to our day helped me to relax as well. For example, while I was walking down the aisle after the ceremony, a string came undone from the bottom of my gown. I panicked, but without missing a beat Matt quietly asked if I would like it removed. I nodded, at which time he proceeded to quickly crouch down and remove the string. Such a small gesture but it really made a difference to me! In addition, he conversed with and joked with all out guests, even hopping into the photo booth with my cousins!
  
  I would use Matt again a thousand times over. If you want someone that does beautiful work and feels like part of the family, hire Matt Ferrara!

  Matt makes you feel like he's not even there, and that's exactly how you should feel on your wedding! He knows exactly when to let the moment happen or chime in to spark some more emotions.   Matt.is.awesome. I did a LOT of research on photographers prior to working with Matt because our relatively modest wedding budget seemed to put many photographers out of reach. I came across Matt's website and loved his images, emailed him (assuming he'd be way out of our range based on the quality of his pictures) and was completely shocked when he emailed back with his packages. We went with an engagement shoot, a full (and I mean full, we started at 9am and he left at 11pm) day of wedding shooting, a photo booth that can be included and all of the images from the day included as our package. He also offers a second shooter as part of the packages, which in hindsight we definitely should have added since it's well worth the value. We couldn't believe it and were so excited to work with Matt.
  
  We did an engagement shoot in the fall and the pictures were amazing; our wedding pictures are beautiful and the photo booth pictures from the reception are hilarious. Matt is extremely flexible - dealing with schedule changes, an OCD-DIY bride, and a giant 5-part family that resulted in a ton of family pictures for him to take. He is very accommodating, funny, efficient and gives you his opinion on what will work best for the photos while still maintaining a very laid-back and calm demeanor (which is really nice for the bride who might be feeling a little stressed!). We've recommended Matt to several other friends, resulting in another wedding, a family session, a bat mitzvah and several inquiries - and I cannot recommend him highly enough if you want pictures that are beautiful, real, meaningful and perfectly capture the best day ever.

  We hired Matt as our wedding photographer and it was one of the best decisions we made. Matt was very responsive, professional and helpful throughout the entire process. On our actual wedding day he was incredible; making us laugh through a few posed shots we requested and then blending into the crowd to catch beautiful candids of what was happening. He shared a sneak peak photo 3 days after our wedding and more images on his blog within a week - we were looking at them on our honeymoon!! Two weeks later, I am sitting with the photos on a disc, in my hand. The photographs are fantastic, and capture really great moments throughout the day - also, we opted to include a photo booth for the end of the night and the pictures are so much fun. Matt is a great talent, we highly recommend him and would work with him again in a heartbeat!

Searching through so many websites for "traditional wedding photographers", I got so sick of looking at wedding pictures that all look the same. Matt's perspective is very unique, he's creative with his locations, and his pictures come out amazing! Not only that, he's actually fun to be around and I always felt comfortable taking pictures that would normally feel pretty awkward.
