Amazing and fun photographers

I actually have already recommended Matt and Kathy to a friend who hired them for a wedding 1 month after ours! The pictures speak for themselves, but Matt and Kathy are also incredibly fun and easygoing people. We were typical in not really being into pictures being taken, but we did the engagement shoot to get comfortable at their suggestion and it ended up being great. They were super flexible to what we didn't want (no getting ready shots for the dudes) and generally were able to capture an amazing party. They were definitely a highlight of the wedding experience! Plus best value by far!

Easy and fun to work with! Captured amazing moments.

Mathy, from initial interaction, was a great team to work with. Easy going and not snobby like others we interviewed. Engagement session was a great ice breaker... and we took them to new places in DC. Enough coaching to get a great, natural shot, but not at all overly "pose-y."
At the ceremony they blended into the crowd, and their personalities are such that our guests wanted to be in their shot. They were experienced with Josephine Butler Parks Center and Meridian Hill Park, and knew exactly how to capture it well. Our first look pics were at the park and they directed a rather nervous moment of the day so well.
Our teaser set of pics, delivered a few weeks later, was a great first batch. The final batch was delivered 8ish weeks later, after discarding and correcting pics before sending. Very pleased with the result. We had a lot of bright colors from bouquets and flower arrangements, as well as centerpieces, and they popped quite nicely in their work.
Bonus points for spotting us a few bucks mid-session to get a freshly cracked coconut in the park.
We highly recommend them... fun, professional, and what better team to shoot a wedding than a husband and wife team?!?!

Great, personable couple for wedding photo experience!

Loved working with Mathy! From the beginning, they really worked with us to understand our personalities and the energy we wanted captured in our engagement photos. They even braved the DC Cherry Blossom crazy weekend at peak blossom to make sure we got some gorgeous photos. I wish we could have taken photos all day long with them as the engagement session was phenomenal. From there, it was wonderful to have them as part of our wedding day. They were so attentive and captured wonderful images of our best moments. We were so happy to work with Mathy - and they even got our teaser photos back to us in less than 2 weeks :)

Mathy helped make our day truly special.

Mathy Shoots People was a pleasure to work with! They made the planning and logistics of the photography at our wedding very simple and straightforward. We especially appreciated their flexibility when not everything at our wedding went according to plan. They offered great suggestions for locations and poses for the photos, and captured some really nice candid photos as well. We had a very small wedding of 7 people, and having Mathy there felt like having two old friends. We sincerely appreciate their working with us and making our day one we'll remember forever! We highly recommend them :)

Fun/easy to work with and beautiful photos!

An awesome husband and wife team! Mathy shot two of our friends' weddings so we knew how wonderful/fun they were to work with and how great their photos are! They shot our engagement photos in Silver Spring, MD and our wedding day on the Eastern Shore of MD, and everything turned out so beautiful. I was worried about feeling/looking awkward for all the kissy shots during our engagement shoot and that only lasted about 2 minutes because Mathy made us feel so comfortable just being ourselves. Our photos turned out perfect. They even agreed to a chilly mid-December outdoor shoot at the ice skating rink where I taught skating lessons before the rink opened in the morning, and then at the last minute we decided we wanted to grab our dog for a few photos at the end and they were totally fine with that and just went with the flow. Our wedding photos turned out perfect and we treasure them all! They edited quickly and did a wonderful job. It was nice to have Kathy with the bridesmaids while Matt hung out with the groomsmen while we were getting ready and also keeping everyone on time. They worked well with our videographer as well who they just met that day. We are very happy to have picked Mathy for our wedding and highly recommend!

They immediately understood the style of wedding photography we were looking for and helped to make our day memorable for years to come.

Matt and Kathy were super friendly and easy to work with. They captured all aspects of the ceremony and reception, and our couples portraits are gorgeous! It was hard to pick our favorites to hang on our wall because every photograph was beautiful.

Mathy for the Win!

Mathy were flexible, funny and all around a great couple to work with all across the board! We had a storm roll through right before and after our (outdoor) ceremony - they were able to adjust to the circumstances and capture fun and timeless photos in the rain. They have a great sense of humor and fit right in with family and friends!

We couldn't be happier with Mathy as our photographers! Not only were they phenomenal in their easy-going approach and sense of humor throughout the process - their technical skill and creativity were outstanding!!! Our photos made everyone look their best and they really captured the essence of our big day, without making things too planned or awkwardly posed.

What made our experience even better was the fact that Mathy went out of their way to truly get to know us prior to our wedding day. Even prior to the complimentary Engagement Shoot, we had a meet-and-greet to know exactly what we were looking for in our wedding photos. Mathy wants to know your personality and preferences first, so they can tailor the shoot accordingly.

Rarely do you meet a couple of photographers that you would consider inviting to your wedding even if they weren't your photographers - Matt and Kathy were exactly that! Great to work with and worth every penny!!! We cannot possibly over-hype these guys!!!

If I could give Mathy 20 Million Stars- I would! Where do I begin with these two? Simply put, they are the best at what they do and I know my wedding day would not have been as amazing as it was without them. They capture the most beautiful and authentic moments of your big day because they really bring out the best from those around them. We worked with Mathy for our engagement session and seeing how comfortable they made my fiance in front of the camera (not an easy task), I knew we had to book them for our wedding day. Our wedding took place in NE Connecticut and they were extremely flexible and understanding during the chaos of planning from Northern VA. They were there for us every step of the way, and I know it's because of them that I was able to be fully present on my wedding day and not worry about whether or not everything was going to plan. Not only did everything go perfectly, but we received our photos so quickly, we were able to relive it all over again! At the end of the day, not only will you have the most breathtaking photos, but you'll have two new, amazing friends!

Meeting Mathy (Matt & Kathy) and having them shoot our wedding (we lived to tell the tale!) was one of the best decisions we made during the entire wedding planning process. From our initial meeting through to the last shot, we had an absolute blast spending time with them. In my experience, a couple wants a photographer(s) that makes them feel comfortable and allows them to be themselves while it's the photographer's job to find the perfect shot, or catch that one candid moment. Mathy allowed us to be our goofy selves while capturing the essence of our relationship in the various photoshoots. They are also extremely creative with their shot selection, but are open to doing what you want as a client. We spent our whole wedding day around one or both of them, and never once did we feel like we were being photographed, which is a testament to their skills. They work very well together and certainly work very well with their clientele.

I can safely say you will not have a more fun experience with a wedding vendor than you will with Mathy. And if you're having fun, you'll get some great photos. We've already got a few of our engagement photos framed around the apartment and I can't wait to do the same with the wedding photos. You'd be doing yourself a disservice not to look into them for your wedding - they are that. good.

Mathy were our wedding photographers... twice! We had a small elopement wedding in May 2015 followed by a big, family wedding in July 2016 and Mathy were our photographers for both occasions. Their work blew us away - we have so many stunning photos from both events and get so many compliments on our wedding pictures. We were so impressed by their professionalism and I really appreciated their expertise and direction for different shots during the chaos of the big day. Mathy were so much fun to work with too - super friendly, down to earth, and a calming influence during the more stressful moments (like when your hairdresser shows up 2 hours late)! Mathy kept our elopement secret for over a year at our request, too, which was really great of them considering they had to hold off on posting their work on their site/social media for so long. They really went over and above our expectations of photographers, both in the sheer quality of their work and their awesome service! They were far and away our favorite wedding vendor. We can't wait for another excuse to work with them again :)

Mathy was hands down one of the best decisions that we made for our wedding. They were really great to work with, and our pictures turned out amazing. They went above and beyond their job as photographers, as they were willing to help out with the wedding day any way that they could. So much love for Mathy! My sweetheart and I knew they were the right photographers for our big day straight away. When we first met Mathy, my cheeks hurt from laughing about all sorts of random things, like our mutual adoration of Bill Hader--we knew they are solid, kind souls. We felt comfortable with them immediately and that natural comfort is tough to beat. Although we didn’t originally plan on an engagement session, after talking it through with Mathy, we understood that it would help the day of the wedding--and sure glad we did. They captured wonderful moments for our wedding, which felt like an extension of the ease we established during the engagement session. From the balloon game with kids, soul train line, glow stick, special moments with our moms, and traditional cultural aspects of the wedding reception, Mathy got it all on film. Mathy remained cool and collected even though we all literally in a sweat for our first look wedding photos out in the park on a particularly hot, humid day in DC. We love the wedding photos and received heaps of compliments from our wedding guests, even friends who wished they found Mathy for their wedding. Before the night was up, they were attentive and made sure they were available for the moments we requested. And since then, Mathy remains endlessly responsive. When I had trouble downloading photos, Mathy quickly found a solution. Highly professional, tons of fun--we recommend Mathy wholeheartedly.

After having Matt and Kathy shoot a spectacular engagement session, we knew straightaway we needed them to capture the big day itself — and could not have been happier with our decision! We found Mathy while looking at photographers in Annapolis for an elopement wedding. They stood out as the ones with the best photography skills combined with editing and taking candid spontaneous shots ( not too posey). Kathy was fantastic, acommodating and had a talent for visualising the photo before taking it and then giving us a bit of guidance.
We got the photos in about 3 weeks and they were fantastic. She took photos of moments I didn't know she was there. We're so happy with Mathy Shoots People. They're fantastic.

Hiring Matt and Kathy was the best decision my husband and I made for our wedding. They were completely flexible with us - we moved the wedding date a time or two with no problem! The two of them are the perfect team and they really take the most amazing photos. We went in with some ideas of photos that we wanted to take, and they took them to the next level, finding the perfect spots to take picture. The engagement shoot was great! Matt and Kathy made us feel comfortable and were able to joke and laugh to help us relax to take better pictures.
The wedding day was completely seamless - they got every moment without being intrusive at all and were always around if we needed them. Not only did Mathy take amazing photos, but they really went above and beyond their job description, helping tie ties, find our spots, stay on time...They made our wedding day great. They also were very quick at getting us our photos, which was very fun! I can't say enough great things about Mathy - we will be sticking with them for any photography needs we have in the future and would definitely recommend them for your wedding!

Mathy was great to work with every step of the way. When we were searching for photographers we contacted them and even though we were not local, they offered to meet us for coffee in DC when we were down there visiting friends for the weekend. They were super helpful and friendly and laid out our options without being pushy. After we hired them, they traveled up to Baltimore to do an engagement shoot. We brought our dog and they were very patient with him. We were really pleased with the engagement photos. They took their time and made sure that we went to all of the locations that we wanted to.

On the day of the wedding they arrived on time and were really helpful throughout the day. They worked with other vendors and really helped to make the day run seamlessly. They paid attention to the details and were doing far more than just photography. We absolutely loved our wedding photos. They captured the big events, as well as all of the small details and moments. We're so glad that we have these memories to look back on.

Overall, Mathy is excellent at their job, but are also awesome people. They're the kind of people that you want to hang out with and be friends with. They are very laid back, but also very professional, awesome photographers. They were a pleasure to work with, and we're so glad that we chose them.

Kathy and Matt were the most amazing photographers we could have asked for. They were 100% supportive of what we wanted and were crazy flexible as things changed last minute due to weather. Kathy was so great to work with! It was very awesome that she wanted to talk on the phone first, which is rare these days. We have anniversary photos taken each year in the location that we travel. She was our DC pick and I was super pleased with the photos and really loved them so much. We really enjoyed Kathy, too, since she is so great to hang out with. Matt and Kathy are whimsically cute, creative and charming. Their love for each other resinates in their work and my husband and I wouldn't have wanted to entrust anyone else to capture our day. They did our engagement photos and after seeing their work, we simply fell in love. They are extremely attentive and personable which makes them worth every penny. I love that they work together and we get two perspectives in our photos. Often, photo packages have additional up charges for another photographer, but Matt and Kathy come as a combination so that not one moment is missed.

We'll be using them to capture all our future life events. :)

We could not have asked for a better photographer than Mathy Shoots People. We were interested in having someone who captured the moments without tons of posing and formal shots, and they exceeded every expectation. They were constantly present, but not overbearing. Many people commented throughout the evening how fun our photogs were and how much they seemed to capture everything. They were right! If there was a way me to give Mathy (Matt and Kathy) more stars I would! I can easily say that hiring them as our wedding photographers was the best decision I made in the entire wedding planning process. Matt and Kathy are kind, professional, and excellent at what they do, but most importantly they are FUN! I felt completely at ease the entire wedding day. No one really tells you that the people you spend the most time with on your wedding day is your photographers, but spending the day with Mathy made me feel like I was just hanging with friends I've known my whole life.

The after wedding experience was also wonderful. We received teaser photos about a month after the wedding which showed several photos from each section of the day, and received the rest of our photos within the promised time frame. Every photo was beautiful! Seriously. Every. Single. One. We have received multiple compliments on how great our photographers were and how wonderful the photos turned out. Many Thanks to Matt and Kathy for the truly perfect photos. It was the smartest investment we made for our wedding!

Mathy did a fantastic job on our engagement pictures! We are getting married down in SC, but live up in northern VA, so we decided to have our engagement pictures done in DC. Mathy did a Skype session with us beforehand to discuss the set up and answer all the questions we had. We did a beautiful morning sunrise shoot at the Jefferson memorial and Roosevelt memorial. Mathy was very knowledgeable with the area and knew where to take all the best shots. They made us feel really comfortable and were so flexibility with any ideas we had. If you're looking for to have some great shots taken in a laid back, relaxed environment with reasonable pricing, then you should highly consider this husband wife duo.

When it comes to wedding planning it’s a very exciting, and also stressful time. The one thing we were never stressed about was our wedding photographers. Matt and Kathy are beyond professional, easy to work with, and honestly have your best interests at heart. When we came at them with many ideas for our engagement photos (and then having to change because of the weather), and what we wanted for our wedding they were more than accommodating. They were very responsive through emails, open to meeting with us and sending up phone dates, and always available to take questions. We were beyond thrilled at our wedding photos, and they perfectly painted a picture of our day. From the start of the morning getting ready to the last of us leaving the reception they captured every moment. Their style and personalities show through in their amazing photos. Mathy was a great choice for my husband and I to use for our elopement this past December.
They made us really comfortable and it was almost like walking around DC taking pictures with old friends. On top of that, they were super fair. We had booked them for 2 hours, but we finished shooting in 1, so they offered us a refund for the second hour and we went on with our day. Many companies may have just kept shooting, but Mathy was honest and we really appreciated it!

Their services are extremely affordable and the gallery PASS they use is simple and fast to order prints (prints are also affordable). They had a majority of our photos uploaded about a week after and then the entirety about a week after that. After reading many reviews and trying to find a photographer, we are so happy that we went with Mathy.

There are not enough positive adjectives to describe Mathy Shoots People! The pictures from our wedding were absolutely incredible and stunning. They captured every moment perfectly. Not only were the quality of the pictures phenomenal, but we got them back so quickly! Its been months after our wedding and we continually get compliments on how wonderful the pictures are.

We got amazing pictures from our wedding, but even better was the experience we had working with Matt and Kathy. They are professional but fun, and took on roles that were not expected of them (examples: giving directions to the bus driver who took us to the wrong place, providing music for wedding party to jam to, and continually provide moral support to the bride and groom when things went wrong). We look back on our wedding day and always say, "We're so happy Matt and Kathy were there."

Mathy Shoots People is incredible, awesome, amazing, wonderful, super, fantastic, glorious, and perfect!!

We used Mathy for our engagement photo session, and they were truly awesome. My husband and I met with Mathy during my search to find the perfect engagement photographers, and we knew we would feel comfortable with these two. They are so easy to work with and also super fun! They definitely made us feel more at ease (both my husband and I are not very comfortable with taking pictures), and I think it really helps having a couple take your pictures. I would definitely recommend Mathy to our friends and would love to use their service again in the future :)

Mathy Shoots People took beautiful pictures of our elopement ceremony. We had our initial meeting over Skype to talk about logistics and to share thoughts on what we wanted in the pictures. We set the date and time and paid our deposit, all very easy and conveniently online. Kathy was very prompt, and jumped right into taking pictures. She did a great mix of candid/photojournalist style and posed pictures. I could not have been happier with our choice!

Where do I even start? I cannot say enough good things about these two. Mathy was hands down the BEST choice my husband and I made for our wedding. We first met Matt and Kathy of Mathy for our engagement photos in Annapolis, MD. We explained to them that although we live in Maryland we would be getting married in Maine. They were absolutely delighted and offered to travel to Maine to shoot our wedding! I am so glad they did. I couldn't have asked for more beautiful pictures. Their style is so subtle and elegant. They caught the most amazing moments, and my husband and I felt totally comfortable with them. We didn't even know they were with us on our first look, it was so magical. I honestly wish I could have Mathy come shoot an event every year! I would recommend them to ANYONE!

Mathy was wonderful and very flexible to work with- since my fiance and I lived about 1000 miles apart, we met with them via Skype and they let us do our engagement session on a weekend in the summer even though they're usually reserved for weddings (and they shot us in pouring rain)! Not only are they wonderful photographers, they're good wedding coordinators as well. We LOVE all our photos, they captured details and moments that we missed. They're also very fast- we got literally 1000+ photos in under 2 months! We highly recommend Mathy- they're very professional but also friendly and funny at the same time :)

Mathy was wonderful from the first time we met them via skype to our wedding to afterward. They are so fun and laidback, we had a great time shooting mostly couple portraits with them. They also helped us keep the family portraits moving, and returned our photos to us very quickly (within a week for an elopement with approx. 400 photos! The lighting in the photos is beautiful and they really captured the day. We would highly recommend them.

Matt and Kathy (Mathy) did the photography for our engagement shoot and our wedding in September 2013 and they were absolutely wonderful to work with! They were extremely responsive, answering most of our emails within a day and were always on time to any appointments. Since there were two of them, they were able to follow my husband and myself throughout the wedding day and catch many moments a single photographer would have missed. Our pictures turned out wonderfully, we have gotten so many great compliments from them.They are also fun to work with and very personable, though they can be professional when they need to be (like rounding up dozens of guests for group pictures). We would highly recommend them!

I wish I could give Mathy an infinity amazing star because they were exactly that. From the first time I spoke with them they were professional, courteous and refreshingly fun. Not only that but they had the best deal too. Working with Matt and Kathy was truly a dream and they made our engagement session, secret courtroom elopement and wedding day truly wonderful. We couldn't have chosen a better team because there isn't one. They've been at the first major milestones in our lives and we will come back to them again and again with any photography needs we may need - hello baby shots!

Even our wedding guests had only kind and wonderful things to say about Mathy, and when we got our pictures back we were blown away by how incredible they were. Their style of photography, which is more journalistic, helped capture our wedding as if it were in a flip book. I didn't have a videographer, and with the photos we have I didn't need one - they were better than that. My wedding, and the photos and memories I now cherish, wouldn't have been possible without them.

I absolutely LOVED working with Matt and Kathy on our engagement photo shoot and our wedding day. They were everywhere in getting the right shots. They worked with the guests in their requests in getting family photos. Having the two of them there was the BEST decision. Kathy showed up at the hotel where us ladies were getting ready at 6am and Matt was with the guys all morning. After spending 10 hours with us all day, we took more formal photos just so my husband and I could get the perfect lighting when the sun was about to set. Could not have asked for a better team of photographers. Love them to pieces!!!

Our relationship originally started with Mathy after I experienced their work in action while in the wedding party of one of my friends. The bride told me all about her experience with them, and after meeting them in person and seeing them in action, I knew they would be a great fit for my now husband and I.

I quickly realized that wedding photos were more than just getting our picture taken. There was a level of comfort needed to be yourself in front of the camera that you don't always find in the photography world. And if you can't be yourself in pictures, how can you really say it's a true representation of you? The comfort level needed for engagement/wedding pictures is extreme, because it's more than just smiling for the camera, you have to be loving and affectionate, and kiss in front of strangers who are taking your picture. But, that's where Mathy differs from every other photographer we've ever met. They are strangers to none of their customers.

Mathy is fun, passionate, and personable. Their character and dynamic as joint photographers are out of this world amazing, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

They will be our first contact in the future for maternity pictures, family portrait sessions, etc. and definitely our only recommendation to those seeking photographers.

My (now) wife (then fiancée) and I asked Mathy to take our engagement pictures. Long story short, we ended up being very sorry we were getting married so far away preventing Mathy from taking our wedding pictures! We've not dealt with many photographers but these two (husband and wife team) made our session a complete blast, and the pictures were truly phenomenal. We still get compliments on them!

We entered into the session with a few ideas of what we wanted, and they incorporated our desires wonderfully while also being very creative with their own ideas! We can't recommend them enough.

My husband and I are thrilled and proud to say that we had Mathy Shoots People as photographers for our wedding. It was important to us that we had a connection with our photographers since they were going to be with us all day. We shared a lot of laughs when we initially met to discuss their services and our needs.
Trends and traditions were thrown out the window for our wedding and Mathy was very flexible and accommodating with everything. Our ceremony location was different from our reception location and we had a 4 hour gap between the two events (morning wedding ceremony). It was a relief that Mathy charged us a flat rate for the whole day versus hourly, because we wanted to capture the “getting ready” moments, ceremony, lunch, and reception. We think their rates are amazing for the photos they provide us.
One of the best things about Mathy Shoots People is they provide us we a “preview” of our photos a few weeks following the wedding. We were very excited to see glimpse of the photos. When we received all of the photos, we were happily shocked by the number of photos, emotional moments captured, and different angles of the photos.
I am constantly passing Mathy Shoots People’s information to my family and friends. My husband and I plan on utilizing their services again when we are pregnant and for our future family portraits.

Mathy Photography went above and beyond to make our maternity photo shoot amazing! They were willing to drive over an hour to meet us at the perfect location. We received our photos recently and we absolutely LOVE them! We cannot wait to show them off to our family and friends. We had very limited time and budget for planning our wedding and everything was not the way we would have liked, but Matt and Kathy captured everything so beautifully and made it all look perfect! I really like Mathy. Not only were they creative and brilliant, but they easy to get along with and fun. Their prices are more than comparable. They have regular jobs and a family, but they make time for the couple. You do become friends with them. They are genuinely likeable.

I was given a recommendation to use Mathy from a friend. Our photographer had just backed out a couple months before our wedding, and we were scrambling to find someone else to take the reigns. Little did we know how lucky we were at the time! Everything happens for a reason, right? Mathy was great! We don't have a single complaint, and trust me, my husband likes to complain about things. When we had questions, they usually responded in less than 24 hours. Matt and Kathy really made us feel important both before and on our special day. They also captured the WHOLE day and not just the our wedding. We basically told them what time we wanted them the be at a location, and they showed with no extra charge! Matt followed by husband and his guys for an early morning round of golf, and Kathy met my MOH and I at the salon. Their words to us were "you paid for the entire day, and if the entire day ends at 5am, then that's the time you have us." Tell me any other service that gives you that kind of treatment!

On another note, we're at that age when all of our friends are getting married, and one of our friends told us they still had not received their wedding photos after a year! That was one of my first questions to Mathy, and they told me they like to get their photos out 6-8 weeks after the event. You could imagine my surprise when they arrived around the 5 week mark and were beautiful! Our friends were envious!

Overall, Mathy was wonderful to work with for our wedding! We really enjoyed our time with them, and we look forward to our complimentary one year photo session! We have even paid it forward and recommended them to a few of our friends!

Mathy was absolutely SPECTACULAR and that's no exaggeration! They were extremely flexible with meeting by suggesting skype, which was essential because we live out of state. Also, they were very helpful when we were looking for vendors for other things, they offered great suggestions. All of our emails were answered in a timely matter. Even when we were trying to figure out areas for photos they really put in work scouting areas around town and then taking time to ride around with us to take a look at areas we picked and patiently answering questions and offering ideas and suggestions for the best outcome. On our actual wedding day they were great team players when it came to working with the videographers for certain shots which helped save on time, so we could enjoy the reception more. We received our photos on time and they came out GREAT!!! They were just amazing to work with and never hesitated to go the extra mile. Matt and Kathy are a really great couple to work with and we couldn't have asked for a better photography team to help make our day perfect! Lastly, you couldn't ask for a cooler name than Mathy Shoots People!

I have had the pleasure of working with Matt and Kathy several times. I can not say that I have ever met a couple so devoted to their passion of photography. I also believe that because they work so well together as a couple, that it other allows them to see the world from such a creative viewpoint. They are so skilled at making everyone around them feel comfortable and able to capture the little moments in such a way that nothing ever seems posed or overdone. Every photo that has been taken of my family by Mathy, is a true reflection of who we really are. They not only capture the best photos possible, but they also incorporate your personality into every shot.

This review is not for a wedding, but for a more intimate look into a couples life after marraige. We hired them for our maternity and baby shower photos. While my husband and I are rather quirky characters, Mathy not only pulled off some beautiful "classic" photos, they captured our growing family in a light all our own in our maternity shoot. Our baby shower was such a beautiful and fun event as well. When I look at the pictures, I can relive it and feel like I am right there again, laughing with family... hugging my grandmother...

Every photograph that Mathy Shoots People delivered to me is a portfolio-worthy piece. Each image is infused with an incredible amount of emotion. This isn’t just because of skill; it’s because of devotion. They love their work, and it shows. While most photographers stop working the moment the wedding is over, Mathy spends the next few weeks pouring attention into post-production, meticulously laboring over every detail of every photograph they take. When I finally saw my wedding pictures, I couldn’t believe they were able to get that level of quality with just a few weeks’ work.

But it’s not just the quality that earns them a recommendation; from when I first approached them to when they delivered my photographs, they brought such a level of care to my wedding experience, that I felt like I was their only client.

Mathy Shoots People is the best photographer we have ever used by far! They are quick and timely with any and all communication. Their flexibility with shooting dates and times was very helpful coordinating around our busy schedules. We were nervous during our engagement shoot but their sense of humor, thorough planning and creative ideas had us feeling like pros by the end of the day. Those few hours flew by so fast and we really enjoyed it! We had our pictures much faster than other photographers and the quality of the photos speaks for itself. We had both Matt & Kathy shooting our wedding.. They were with us from the salon that morning until late in the night. Everyone in attendance has been raving about how professional, laid back and creative they were. We love them and will definetly be recommending them to everyone we know in the future. Mathy Shoots People is my go-to photography team. They have taken many photos of my girls over the past year which have turned out wonderfully. They also took my family photos this year; photos that I have received a tremendous amount of complements on.
The thing I like most about their photography style is the casual feeling of it all. They do not want to "pose" you for their photos, but would rather just fade into the background snapping photos. Their drive to capture "life" in their photos is amazing, and the quality of their photos reflects this.

I would fully, without any reservation, recommend Mathy Shoots People to anyone who needs beautiful (yet affordable!) photos.

They were great! They both have a great sense of humor and you get engagement pictures with your contract for the wedding.

The pictures are a good quality and edited slightly to help with lighting issues, etc. They are also fairly quick - they give teasers in a matter of weeks and the rest a month or two later. All ahead of the contract's obligations or on time. I have no complaints.

One thing to note is that we did not use them for making a photo album and they were on the pricier side of the photographers who we talked to.

Mathy were wonderful and such a joy to work with on the big day! We felt so relaxed with them and felt like we were just hanging out with old friends! Pictures turned out amazing! We are having such a hard time deciding what pictures to choose for the album and around the house because there are so many good ones!

Kathy and Matt are fantastic people and amazing photographers! We were planning our wedding from out of state and they were so flexible with scheduling Skype sessions so we could "meet" them and discuss what we wanted, details of the day, etc. Day of, I felt like not only did we get two photographers, but they have so much wedding experience, it was like we got 2 additional day of coordinators as well. They made sure to get every shot we wanted (and I'm sure some incredible ones we never even would have thought to ask for) and were truly there for us all day long! Would easily recommend them to anyone.
