Masterson's catered our daughter's wedding at the Frazier History Museum on 11/23/19. The food was fabulous! Our guests were all very impressed with the food! One of the things people will remember from a wedding reception is whether the food was good or not, we did not have to worry! Their staff was efficient and everything was seamless. At the end of the night they provided a special added touch for the bride and groom. The gave them a to go bag with containers of the wedding food, desserts, water bottles and chocolate covered strawberries, to take with them at the end of the evening. They also packaged all the leftover desserts and had them ready to go at the end of the night, along with tearing everything down and making sure everything was ready to be packed up to take out of the reception venue. I cannot recommend them highly enough! Thank you for allowing us to enjoy the wedding without worries about the food and service!! -

We had our reception at The Olmsted who uses Masterson's Catering. Everyone always says, "you don't eat at your wedding, there isn't enough time," that is simply not true! We ate and it was delicious! I absolutely recommend this food to you! -

My wedding was this weekend at the Gheen's Foundation Lodge. Masterson's came the day before to set up linen and get a handle on the layout before hand. They told me that they were going to roll in around 3pm, but upon arrival around 2:30 they were already there setting up! This team is AMAZING! They came in ready to roll, were set up so quickly. My photographer had a few areas he wanted to take photos in and they were more than accommodating when we asked if we could move things and even helped. All of my guests were happy and well fed, and I believe they ate through all of the tenderloin!! The bar adjusted our specialty drink for everyone's preference (our out-of-towners don't drink bourbon often) and they even made sure that my Groom and I got the last of it, how thoughtful was that?!?!
We did passed salads to start the evening off and it allowed all of my guests to start eating, and allowed single table dismissal and kept the buffet table at a nice flow, no back ups or crowding. I don't believe I heard anyone complain about waiting in line at the buffet line, or about any of the food being over cooked or bad. I highly suggest passed salads if you are considering a buffet!! DO IT!
I cannot rave enough about the wonderful staff, everyone was so excited for me and my groom, complete strangers were hugging me, congratulating me, and all around happy to be there!
We also stuck with the family and did our Rehearsal Dinner at Captain's Quarters Riverside Grill and it was amazing as well. Awesome staff, awesome views, and awesome food. -

The staff was very polite and professional.
Only complaint is that the food was a little dry on the day of - but totally edible and still good! -

We were not given the option to taste any of the food before the wedding, so I was a little concerned about the quality. We were very pleased with the food and the service. Everyone was very nice and helpful. They provided all the plates, glasses, silverware, and even tablecloths. The workers made sure the setup looked beautiful and were very quiet while the ceremony was taking place. The best part...they even bagged up plates for my husband & I to take back to the hotel with us! So happy we used Masterson's! -

Rada Sent on 07/11/2013Masterson's did a wonderful job catering our wedding! We had a plated dinner and an open bar. The food was phenomenal!! Everyone loved it and they are still talking about it a month after the wedding!
I am from Jordan and my family brought some finger foods for the bar and the dessert bar. Masterson's allowed us to incorporate our traditional foods into the reception. They served it in their serveware as well.
The bartendars and the waitstaff were also wonderful! They didn't leave an empty plate on the table, and always asked the bridal party if they wanted drinks from the bar.
The only issue I had was the day of set up. We needed the tables to be set up by 1 or 2 pm, yet they wouldn't do that unless I paid an extra 50 dollars. I thought that was unprofessional, considering I am paying them over $5000 dollars for their services. Many of my other vendors told me that Masterson's sets up early for most other receptions.
All in all, Masterson's is a great value for the money! -

Alice Sent on 05/05/2011When it comes to food, Masterson's is awesome and I would hire them again for any catering need in Louisville. The wait-staff was professional and courteous and everyone raved about the food.
That said, I marked them down on professionalism because even though we explicitly asked and the catering manager constantly reassured us that there would be no tip jars at the bars, the bar tenders put up tip jars. We were already paying a nice tip to them as part of the contract and we didn't want our guests to feel pressured to tip at the open bar. We told the manager afterward, and although she was very upset that this happened she did mention that it's an ongoing problem that they're working on, so be aware.
I would like to applaud them on flexibility. They came and set up tables on Friday before the Saturday wedding so that we could decorate on Saturday morning. Much appreciated and overall and excellent caterer.

My husband and I got married in June at the Gheens Foundation Lodge. After meeting with several caterers, we opted to go with Masterson’s because a friend recommended them. From the start, Masterson’s seemed great. We were able to meet with them to discuss our vision for food at the wedding and they drew us up some different estimates based on things we had talked about. We ended up changing several things around, and they were fairly good at communicating back and forth with me in order to make those changes and draw up new estimates. Our tasting went absolutely amazing and we were sure everything was going to go off without a hitch on the big day! With that being said, we were not overly impressed with the service they actually provided on our wedding day. I will say that they set up the food absolutely beautifully and I was very impressed with that aspect of their service — it was just how I imagined. They even set up a display for our donuts that were purchased through a separate vendor, which was extremely helpful! The only issues that we really had came with the amount and the quality of the food they served at my wedding, which at the end of the day was the most important part to me, personally. Several of the dishes that should have been served warm were cold and they ran out of several items as well. I’m not really sure how this ended up happening seeing as they had an accurate guest count, and it was a bit disappointing considering how much money we were paying. I can understand that there should be some room for error with any vendor, after all, we’re all human! Still, I felt like there were too many instances of issues with the food to simply excuse and I wish that my guests could have had a better dining experience at my wedding. Overall, I would say that the service Masterson’s provided was pretty average, especially when it came to the actual day. Would not necessarily recommend using or not using them as a vendor, but I would recommend considering all of your options before deciding. Ultimately, we felt like we paid big money for mediocre results. -

They cater for the company that I work for and they do not have any system on recording the calories or any other nutritional information for their entrees. When you contact them, they will tell you it will take 3 weeks to know the information or 1 hour per entrée (everyday there are different entrees). All you have to do is write down the calories of the products you use on a piece of paper.
If you're looking to be healthy and know for certain that you're not eating a pile of junk food, I do not recommend this company for your wedding, job, family, kids. Who knows what they are using. pretty sketchy catering service
