I am shocked by how well Marya altered my dress! My dress was altered so well that it fit me like a glove and I couldn’t believe how amazing it was! My dress had lots of beading on it, and she was able to easily alter it without damage to the dress and kept it looking good. Marya also gave me a very good price that I would not be able to find anywhere else. I really recommend Marya’s alterations because of her ability to alter and talent when it comes to alterations. Finally, she was quick to answer and set an appointment for me fairly quick. -

Highly highly recommend!
I cant recommend Marya enough. She was incredibly kind, professional, clearly experienced, and very affordable (compared to prices i received at several bridal boutiques).
My dress was originally strapless with puffy detached sleeves and when I told her my vision, she turned it into a v neck with a plunge with flutter sleeves. It turned out beautifully. I cant thank her enough. -

Marya was a dream to work with! I reached out to her with just over a month until my wedding day and she made it work! She was quick to schedule my initial meeting and was completely transparent about price and the work that needed to be done. I initially thought I just needed my dress hemmed, but she was knowledgeable enough to recommend taking in the waist so my strapless dress would stay up all night. I have never felt better in a dress and it is all thanks to Marya! 100% recommend her to anyone looking for wedding dress alterations. -

Life saver
My dress was nothing like what I tried in at the bridal shop. They pinned me into it and made me feel like it would be the shape I wanted. But it really was a completely different silhouette than I wanted. I cried my eyes out when I got my dress. When I tell you Marya basically took my dress and made it a custom gown, I am not exaggerating. She changed the shape of the gown to exactly what I wanted and never ever said she couldn’t do any of the alterations I asked for. HIGHLY recommend -

I truly feel so lucky to have found Marya design. I bought a wedding dress, which was a simple design but had a massive train, which I didn't feel particularly comfortable wearing for my relatively casual wedding that didn't have a ceremony. When I was buying the dress, I was told that it would be impossible to remove the train while maintaining the shape of the dress, so I had resigned myself to needing to add a bustle and would just wear it bustled the whole time. When I told Marya what I hoped for, she didn't blink an eye before saying she could remove the train and keep it even all the way around. When she showed me the dress to approve at my second appointment, I was truly speechless. It looked like it was designed that way and looked even better than I could have imagined.
So already, she was a true wizard to me, but I ended up using her again to add a lining to another dress I bought for the courthouse, which I loved but had an inner bodysuit that was totally visible through the white fabric. She took out the bodysuit and added a lining so it was not only beautiful, but also way more comfortable to wear.
She is an absolute magician, so professional and so incredibly talented. And reasonably priced for the highest quality. What more could you ask for? -

Marya helped save my wedding! I got married in June 2024 and I had to buy a brand new dress two weeks before my wedding. My original wedding dress was altered by another tailor and ruined. That’s when I reached out to Marya as I needed a new tailor for my new dress. I explained the situation and she miraculously squeezed me into her schedule. We had 3 appointments in those two weeks and throughout each, you could tell she has such amazing attention to detail and extremely good at what she does. I ended up loving my new dress better than the original one and it’s all thanks to Marya! I highly recommend her for any brides looking for alterations in the area!

Marya is a godsend
I am beyond grateful for Marya, who was able to squeeze me in with little notice and provided beautiful craftsmanship. She made my wedding dress fit like a glove! I had to have several alterations due to sizing up when ordering my dress: tighter straps, taking fabric in at the waist, shortening the length (a LOT of length, I’m 5’1), closing the neckline slightly to make my dress more appropriate, and adding a bustle. I wish I would have thought to take some “before” pictures, because it truly is a night and day difference. I was feeling a little insecure before the alterations since it was not fitting anything like I had hoped, and after her alterations I felt beautiful, confident and “snatched”. Marya is also incredibly kind and radiates good energy and will make sure you leave happy. Please do yourself a favor and book your alterations with Marya Design, you will not be disappointed. -

Highly recommend!
Marya did an amazing job altering my wedding dress. She was very clear about the amount of time it would take and the cost. She even added some detachable shoulder sleeves to my dress, which was originally strapless. It really completed the look and I was so happy with how I looked on my wedding day! -

I chose Marya Wedding Gown Design and Alteration for my wedding dress alterations after some Google searching and reading all of her stellar reviews. Maryam is extremely professional, skilled, and efficient. I had moderately significant alterations; my dress was probably two sizes too big and had to be taken in at the waist, sides, and bust. She also hemmed the dress, added bra cups for support, shortened the straps, and added a five-point bustle. Communication was easy and I felt like I was in good hands. After my second fitting I started having anxiety over the deep plunging neckline of my dress being too boob-y for my comfort, and she squeezed me in for an extra visit so we could figure out a solution. We ended up closing the plunge and making a sweetheart neckline, which was perfect! Based on my online research (Google/Reddit, mostly), her prices seem to be in line with averages for the amount of work I had done. On my final fitting, she showed me how to do the bustle while I took a video, which was helpful in sharing with my bridesmaids. I felt gorgeous and confident on my wedding day and I can't stop looking at pictures of my dress! -

I had Marya take in my dress at the waist/hip area and add a bustle, and she did a terrible job! If it weren't for the other tailor who was able to salvage my dress at the last minute, Marya would've ruined my $3k+ dress!
First, after she took in the dress at the hips, a bulge in the fabric formed at my butt. According to another tailor, the bulge formed because Marya didn't alter the dress correctly, not because the dress didn't fit me correctly. It cost me $300 to get rid of the bulge, and finding a tailor to do this last-minute work was so stressful! The hip alterations also caused the buttons to come down my back and hips at a diagonal because Marya only took in the dress at one side, causing an asymmetry. Because she could only finish the hip alterations a week before the wedding, I had to remove all 12 dress buttons to fix the asymmetry. The other tailor would've had to completely reverse her alterations to properly fix the problem, which would've taken weeks.
Second, she only took in the top layer of the dress, without taking in the under layers. This caused the larger under layers to bunch up or fold underneath the tighter top layer. It looked like streaks going down the back of my dress!
Third, the first time my maid of honor tried to bustle my dress, one of the bustle buttons fell off! I had to rush to sew the button back on, which was extremely stressful because I don't even know how to sew!
Lastly, she damaged the beading on the neckline of my dress. Multiple beads on one side of the neckline had fallen off when I got the dress back, creating a noticeable hole.
Overall, Marya's poor alterations caused me so much stress a week before my wedding. I highly recommend that anyone with an expensive dress go elsewhere, because according to the tailor who was able to salvage my dress, Marya didn't have the skill or experience to correctly alter my dress!! -
