Marina Morrison is the top of the top in bridal salons. Every experience I had while at Marina Morrison was exceptional, from ordering my gown, to fittings, all the way to picking it up. I knew I wanted something unique and they have an amazing range of unique designers. Claire Pettibone was the designer for me. From the moment I tried on my gown I had the moment where I knew it was the one, and Savinie who was my bridal consultant made me feel at ease through the process. When my gown arrived I had lost around 10 pounds since it was ordered so it needed a lot of work to fit me. Lynn and Maribel worked above and beyond to make sure it fit me flawlessly. It took several appointments and at the end my gown looked fantastic on me. On my wedding day I could not have felt more beautiful. Everyone complimented my gown and how perfect it was on me.
I highly recommend Marina Morrison to find your wedding gown, they will make sure you find a dress as unique as you are and make sure it fits flawlessly for your big day.

Marina Morrison has the best assortment of wedding dresses! I know that I picked the perfect dress for me, but every time that I went in for a fitting, I had to take a walk around the shop to see what was new. There is no question that you'd find your perfect dress here. The bridal stylists are great to work with and make you feel like a beautiful bride. They are very professional and do everything that they can to make the process easy for you- an example of this is when you pick-up your dress, you can just pull up and they'll bring it down to you.

The team at Marina Morrison is amazing! They made everything so simple and they made me feel like i was so important and they were excited and genuine about my dress and they always knew who i was when i showed up for fittings. The selection here is great! And they have great relationships with their designers. My designer could not have made a more perfect dress for me and I am so pleased with the designers that Marina Morrison represents and the service they provided!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience at Marina Morrison. I had bought a dress that I decided wasn't the right fit for my venue and came to them on a business trip to San Francisco - made the appointment that morning and only 2 months out from my wedding date! Jana was amazing, didn't make me feel pressured or stressed and helped me find the most beautiful Jenny Lee gown, even calling the designer to ensure the dress would be able to be rushed and arrive in time. The selection they have is absolutely phenomenal - I have even recommended my east coast friends fly out to gown shop on the west coast just to go to this salon! :) 5 stars!

The best bridal salon in the City. Everyone made me feel so special and beautiful. The dresses are beautiful and the service is very sumptious (tons of appropriate oooohs and awwwws). I found my perfect Carolina Herrara wedding gown there! Prices are high, but the experience lovely.

    Short story:

I found my wedding dress at Marina Morrison, and had a lovely experience working with them from start to finish. Friendly, professional, and super special. Definitely very expensive, but quality, attention to detail, and smooth coordination was all phenomenal.

    Long story:

I started shopping in May 2015 for my late April 2016 wedding. Marina Morrison was the 4th store I visited, and by far the most elegant, airy, and lovely space. The fittings were easy - fun to spend time with the dress on, and they were always helpful and professional. I also ordered my veil. In the end, my dress fit amazingly and the veil was perfect. I couldn’t have been happier with my experience or the end result. I felt special every time I got to go to the store, which was a fun part of the process since so much of wedding planning can get crazy feeling.

Also, the pickup at the very end was super easy and well coordinated! They made it super easy and low stress and brought the gown and bag and hanger in a cute bag all right to the car at the curb. So easy and fun.

Loved being a Marina Morrison bride! Definitely blew my hypothetical budget away, but did so wittingly and it was really worth it to me in the end to know the quality and process was so great.

Marina Morrison was great to work with. I think I tried on 50+ dresses at many bridal salons before I found the one. MM was one of the first places I went. I tried on some beautiful gowns, but just didn't fall in love with any right away. After visiting just about every bridal gown salon in San Francisco, I started circling back and returned to Marina Morrison. The consultant (Chloe) was wonderful and patient. This time around, I felt like a had a better idea of what I was looking for and this time I found the dress! They got the dress in in a timely fashion, and did a great job with the alterations. If I could, I would give .5 stars less for value is due to the fact that the dresses are on the pricier end, and alterations really added up. Fortunately, they have a $650 cap on alterations which was good. Overall, I had a great experience at MM.

I purchased my Jenny Packham wedding gown here in March 2009 for my October 2010 wedding. I fell in love with the dress when I saw it in a magazine but, as a Seattle local, couldn't find a bridal salon in my area that carried the designer. I shopped around to 4 salons locally before deciding to take the plunge and visit SF (where my inlaws live) to check out the dress. Marina is a very upscale boutique admist top quality, beautiful shopping in downtown SF (it's above Gumps). I went for a Jenny Packham trunk show and tried on other dresses before deciding on the one I'd fallen in love with. Even though I was nervous, I bought the dress then (for the trunk show discount) and never regretted the choice. I went back 2 times for fittings and it was easy to coordinate a fitting when I was coming back in town (usually for a family event, so not chosen on weekends when they specifically had appointments available). I also purchased coordinating earrings there which complimented my gown perfectly and weren't too expensive (around $150, if I remember correctly). The fittings went well and it fit like a dream. I forgot to ask for the spare beading on my dress, which I would have liked to have just in case (but didn't need to use, thankfully). The dress was shipped to my house a month before the wedding (a little tight for my taste) and I did have to steam it myself the day before because shipping/storage wrinkled the silk chiffon. One recommendation -- I'm an active dancer and never jumped around during my fittings. At my wedding, the very top of my dress (eyehooks) did come apart and had to be quickly refastened by my husband during the reception. No harm, but if I had noticed before, I bet Marina could have figured out a solution for me to keep it together.

Overall, I recommend Marina if you're looking for top quality service and a brand that's not carried elsewhere. They're great.

They have a huge selection of dresses, but are pretty pricy. The store is located just above gumps in SF. It took about 8 months to get my dress ordered and fitted...but it was well worth it!!!

I had tried on dresses at a few other places in the city and my mom wanted to check out Marina Morrison based on a friend's recommendation. I was a bit concerned because it was higher than my original budget (and I'll be honest, I blew that budget when I found THE dress), but I obliged. From our very first appointment until purchase, I really enjoyed the experience. We were paired up with Savinie who never once scoffed at my budget, not so tiny frame, or my very specific likes about certain gowns. She ultimately had me try on THE dress and I was in love.

When I first went in to try on my gown, it was literally two sizes too big. It was really difficult to imagine what it would ultimately look like & it was WAY different than the sample on me. Of course I started freaking out, but was assured by Maribel & my seamstress Nora that all would be well for my wedding. I had several fittings over the next couple of months...

Cut to fitting #4, the week before the wedding and things weren't quite perfect just yet. The dress needed a few minor tweaks and I was assured it would be perfect for the wedding day. Honestly at this point, it was practically a custom dress & looked great, albeit different from the sample. My MOH picked up the dress for me and when we opened it up the day of the wedding, it was perfect. I LOVED it and looked absolutely amazing in it. It was so wonderful to see the final result after all of the fittings and fretting over what it would look like. The service was incredible and I would recommend this bridal salon to anyone getting married.

A few words of advice - don't freak out at the first fitting, it will all be ok. bring a couple different people with you to give their opinions or at least your most honest girlfriend - she will figure out how to articulate what you have been trying to say for weeks, in about 5 mins. trust your seamstress!

Thank you, thank you to Savinie, Maribel, & Nora for making my wedding dress absolutely perfect!!

My dress was one of the highlights of my wedding. I did not stop getting compliments on it and it was so unique and special and perfect for me that I want to wear it for the rest of my life. The space is gorgeous and they have lots of different styles for every bride. The staff is wonderful and accommodating and always offering something to drink. I'd been to a few places in the city such as Jin Wang and Bridal Galleria and decided to try Marina Morrison based on the designers. I went to the salon last week and found some beautiful dresses but none that made me say YES! After I left Savinie emailed me a beautiful blush dress by Victoria Kyrakides that she had just gotten and wanted to show me and it ended up being The One! Even better is that Savinie spent the night on the phone with the designer to make sure everything was as cost effective as it could be and that all my alterations for my body shape would be possible. Once the dress came in, we had some issues with the shoes catching on the tulle but the seamstress worked with me patiently while I rotated 3 different shoe choices the whole time. It's not the cheapest place but if you're looking at dresses like this, you're probably prepared to spend at least $4000 since they mostly offer couture lines. Special shout out to Maribel for helping me out when Savinie (my original consultant) left. She was great! Thanks to everyone at Marina Morrison! I wish I could do it again!

This is the nicest bridal boutique in SF with the highest-end dress selection. I was lucky enough to have found my dream dress made by Jenny Packham at Marina Morrison's sample sale, so i scored a couture piece at a fraction of the price (but even this was quite a bit above my original budget!). Since I went to the sample sale, the service was just ok, as they kind of leave you to your own devices to find a gown and they restricted use of the main mirrors. The shop is so beautiful though, and it was the best dress shopping experience out of all the 5 places I went to, so I would still recommend it.

I went to every place in the city to get a gown. You would think that given all the white dresses on the carpet I could find something ready made. This place is the one of two place that actually carried ready to wear gowns in a 12/14 in silk (sorry David's Bridal I just can't wear polyester to my wedding). Considering that the average woman wears a 14 and bridal gowns run small I can't believe more places don't stock larger gowns to try on.

Their selection was totally beautiful they gave me an appointment right away. The service was professional and awesome especially since by this point I was less than one week before the wedding. (I had purchased two gowns previously only for them to arrive wrong by no fault of mine (wrong color and fit) and they had to be returned.) So birde to be melt downs they handle very well. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because the cost for alterations was huge and they insisted on making an alteration , adding boning, that ended up being uncomfortable, prjected my breasts out too much and was and unsightly because boning always bends. One of the repairs they made to the dress was done so hastily that it broke again after having the dress on for 10 minutes. I love their dresses but I am not sold on their alterations person, who incidentally is an employee of the shop but rather a separate business. It seems as if the alterations should have been included in a $3700 dress by someone accountable by the shop.

However they saved my butt at the last minute and I looked gorgeous in an original looking dress in the most beautiful silk gauze imaginable. It wasn't your typical bride's dress. Think Wilhelmina Slater on Ugly Betty or a Greek Goddess.

My experience trying on dresses and finally selecting my dream Oscar De La Renta was superb, but my experience with the alterations was less than ideal. The fitting experience and service can't be beat. My person was patient and attentive, not pushy. When I had a big group come with me, we got one of the front dressing rooms with the giant mirror which was so fun. Also, meeting the other brides with their dresses and families was one of the funnest parts. My second time, I spotted the brand new, spring season Oscar 'Adele' dress, which wasn't available when I came just a couple weeks before. Since it was the latest season, Oscar also sent me shoes, which was thrilling!

However, when the dress they ordered finally came and I went in for my first fitting, the whole thing was enormous on me. It didn't fit like I expected at all. Even though I know I was trying on sample sizes, I wasn't expecting my dress to require so many alterations. I'm a size 8 women's and they ordered me an Oscar size 16 (I'm not sure if that's typical). They assured me that it was normal and the alterations person would make it fit like a glove. But the next two fittings didn't go much better. My dress was silk crepe and seemed to pull, tug, and bubble in all the wrong places. In my third fitting, one side lay flat while the other puckered up like it had gone through the wash. The other issue was coming up with a bustle for the train. They told me the kind of bustle I wanted was not possible because it would show the buttons on the outside (over bustle). But the bustle they suggested (and kind of insisted was the only one possible) was a double french bustle, which made me feel like I was coming out of a pumpkin.

My advice would be to discuss the bustle ahead of time, before purchasing the dress, and make sure you feel comfortable with the alterationist. You'll be working with them a lot more than your sales person.

    Absolute nightmare to work with

I bought my wedding dress from Marina Morrison in February 2018 and it was by far the biggest mistake I made in the entire wedding process! Truly this company, both Maribel who is the store manager and the owner Rick Wee, were absolutely horrible to deal with. They do not stand behind the products they sell or the representations about quality made by sales associates. Be very careful before you do business with this store. Read every single fabric tag, every single detail on your receipt, etc.

I was a stickler on one point relating to my wedding dress- it had to be made of natural fabrics (i.e. silk) and not synthetic (i.e. polyester). I thought I had lucked out when I found a sales associate at Marina Morrison who happily agreed, even going as far as to say "no one should be married in polyester on their wedding day". I tried on a ton of dresses and eventually settled on a Lihi Hod skirt and top. I specifically asked the sales associate, even though it seemed like a stupid question given the total of my order was north of $6,000, to confirm the skirt's fabric content. She confirmed that of course the skirt was made of 100% silk. I checked the top's tag and noticed it had some synthetic fabric in it, which I was told had to do with the bodysuit portion of the top you can't see (basically underwear).

This is where I made my biggest mistake. I trusted the sales associate and never check the skirt's fabric content tag. I happily signed the paperwork with all sorts of releases of liability on it. I told myself this must be included because finicky brides probably order dresses and try to cancel them all the time; not something I planned on doing so no problem.

I picked the dress up a few months later. I took the skirt and top to my tailor, who was also well aware of my feelings about synthetic fabrics. She informed me immediately upon touching the skirt there was no way the lining was silk and she suspected the outer to be a silk/rayon blend. I was at first stunned, then just totally burst into tears. I wasn't sure who ripped me off- Marina Morrison of Lihi Hod. I thought it could be possible Marina Morrison had no idea the standards at Lihi Hod had dropped and was sure once I told them they'd fix the problem.

Not only did Marina Morrison not fix the problem, they immediately referenced their "No Refund" policy and told me the associate who had helped me pick out my dress had also left the company so there was no way they could verify her claims or help me in any way. I was totally shocked by their behavior and complete lack of empathy for a problem with a product I bought from their store!! I referenced my contract immediately and realized they had written "Crepe" in as the fabric content of the skirt. Crepe is not a type of fabric, it is a type of weave. I hadn't caught this when I signed my receipt. I don't work in fashion and I'm not used to parsing through the details of fabrics and weaves. It was only at this point that I realized why Marina Morrison has such a lengthy release of liability; it has nothing to do with finicky brides and everything to do with poor quality standards and customer service they have no intention of backing up.

STAY AWAY. Spend your money elsewhere. Horrible service

STAY AWAY and spend your money elsewhere. I spent nearly $15K on what was meant to be a made-to-measure dress, and it arrived enormous (a standard size that had to be cut way down, and never ended up fitting properly), with the wrong straps they ordered... which Marina Morrison blamed on a whole variety of excuses. I had a terrible experience with both the salesperson (Sami) and the owner (Rick); they were rude, negligent, and Rick is flat-out sexist (claiming I must have been "too excited" to understand expectations, that my weight must have fluctuated due to working from home, that I was overly stressed due to wedding planning, etc etc). I could go on and on about how awful my experience was - but all I can say is: just go somewhere else, and save yourself a tremendous headache.
