Mariana and her team are a joy to work with. Mariana was super responsive, really took the time to review my inspiration photos for hair & makeup and made my "soft glam" bridal makeup and hair dreams come to life. What really impressed me also is that my bridal look lasted through 8+ hours of Costa Rica humidity, dancing and heat. Also she uses the best high-end products such as Dior - so you know your skin will be well taken care of and the quality is top notch.
If your looking for a H&M team that focuses on enhancing your natural beauty on your wedding day, then I highly recommend Mariana and her team. 10/10!! -

I can truly say I’ve never felt more beautiful in my life than on my wedding day! And at the age of 41!
My whole experience with the team was amazing - from the prompt responses, flexibility with my needs and schedule, the professional, kindness and expertise of Elaina on my wedding day - I just can’t say enough! It was worth every penny and I highly recommend the team at Mariana Astua makeup!
Just some details that may help, I asked for hair and makeup for myself the day of the wedding, and then hair for my two daughters - 11 and 13. We were married at El Mangroove hotel. The wedding was at 4:45 and they came at 1:00. Again, Elaina and her daughter were prompt, so friendly, and so so talented. I had some ideas of what I wanted for my hair and she made sure I got what I wanted AND something that held up with the weather! Same for makeup. They both lasted all day.
I would use them over and over again for any makeup and hair needs! Thank you for making my wedding day pure perfection. -

Feel your best at your wedding!
Mari is super professional and truly knows what she’s doing. I gave her a bit of inspiration, but mostly trusted her creative judgment because she really is the best. My makeup turned out absolutely perfect and lasted over 12 hours, through tears, dancing, and everything in between. I received so many compliments throughout the day and night, and most importantly, I felt confident, comfortable, and like the best version of myself the entire time. It was 100% worth the price, and I couldn’t recommend her more for such an important day. -

Mariana and her team did my wedding hair and makeup, and the experience was absolutely perfect. I didn’t have a very specific idea of what I wanted, just some general inspiration, and they completely understood my vision and brought it to life. I felt like the most beautiful version of myself.
The team came to my house, which made the whole day so relaxed and stress-free. They were punctual, organized, and such a calming presence to have around on a busy wedding day. My hair and makeup lasted all night through dancing, hugs, and many many happy tears, and I still looked flawless at the end.

From day one, Mariana was incredibly attentive to us. She was going to do the makeup for my mom, my sister, and me on my wedding day. She welcomed us into her home with such kindness for a makeup trial before the big day. She always made sure we were comfortable and really took the time to understand our preferences and what we didn’t like in terms of makeup styles. She completely understood my vision.
Before we left, she gave us skin care tips and even gifted us some face masks to hydrate our skin in the days leading up to the wedding.
When the big day arrived, Mariana was right on time, showing up early in the morning at my door. She was so patient with us—it was an emotional day, and she helped calm my nerves more than once. I really appreciated how much care she put into prepping my skin before starting the makeup.
We followed all her skincare advice, and she managed to do all three of us—my mom, sister, and me—in perfect timing, never once rushing.
The moment I looked at myself in the mirror, I truly felt like a bride. She highlighted my best features with such a soft and natural look. I don’t know how she does it, but the three of us were beyond happy with the results.
I couldn’t have chosen or trusted a better person than Mariana for the most special and important day of my life. I’ll be forever grateful to her. -

Mariana is my superhero. She managed to do the makeup of different complexions in such a short time, both my mother-in-law (Caucasian German) and my mother (Korean) were very pleased with Mariana's job. Neither of them spoke Spanish nor English fluently, but Mariana's sensibility to understand their intention was impressive. I felt beautiful, until the last wedding program the make-up stayed flawless. Before the ceremony, my crinoline wasn't working properly, I was panicking but Mariana filled the room with serenity, she called the lobby and asked for a needle and thread, she personally sewed and fixed my crinoline. She was terrific!

In general the service with Mariana was excellent, from the professionalism in offering the service to the quality of service and confidence that made me feel in my wedding day.
Mariana was very professional and comprehensive with all the requirements that I have regarding to my make up, she tried to understand what I wanted to give a tailored service and was open to adjust things I didn’t like it. One of the things I like the most is the quality of products she use and how she pay special attention to prepare the skin. PS. I cried a lot but my make up was impeccable 😅 -

Hair and make up review
I highly recommend marinas and her team to everyone. Elena did my hair and make up services! She was incredible. Truly beautiful inside and out. She was very knowledgeable and skilled. I felt extremely confident and stress free on my wedding day with thanks to her. Even when my dress ripped at the front when I put it on - I still felt incredible after looking in the mirror from Elena’s work. I showed Elena a picture of the style I was hoping for and she brought it to life!!! 😍 I was worried about the make up not lasting all day / night in the Costa Rican heat but it stayed on perfectly!! Even when we all jumped in the pool at the end of the night. I fully trust Elena in her ability to make everyone feel their absolute best ❤️ Mariana and her team were incredible to work with. The communication was top notch. I was supposed to get married in November of 2024 but due to weather and cancelled flights our wedding got postponed to April 2025. Mariana and her team were very understanding and accommodating during this time as I was very excited to use their services for my wedding. This helped create less stress and chaos during that time. I highly recommend this team to everyone. -

My wedding was a 9++ hour long event which included a pool, in Costa Rica. This ALL comes into play when writing this review. Mariana is beyond professional, patient, talented and sweet. I’m insanely picky & have worked in the wedding industry for 6 years. So I’m used to seeing the good, bad and ugly scenes that could potentially pan out. She did such an absolutely perfect job on my hair and makeup!! I sweat, swam, danced, ate EVERYTHING, drank & cried (A LOT). My hair stayed more than perfect throughout the night & most importantly was not even knotted When I took it out. As for my make up, it didn’t so much as smudge one bit all night long. It was absolutely perfect, and I loved it more than I ever thought I would. Everyone said I look the prettiest I ever had before. 1,000/10 recommend! -

Hire Mariana as your Wedding Makeup Artist!
Wow. That’s all I can say. I rarely write reviews unless the service is truly exceptional, and Mariana absolutely deserves the praise. She is not only an incredibly skilled makeup artist but also a talented individual overall.
I’m very detail-oriented and a bit nit-picky. Because of that, I don’t often get my makeup (or hair) done—mainly because I’m rarely fully satisfied. Even when I request changes, the final look often doesn’t feel like me or match my vision.
For my destination wedding, I didn’t have a trial until the day before, which made me nervous given my past experiences. But from when Mariana started working, I could tell she was an expert. Her knowledge, technique, and the high-quality products she used reassured me.
What really impressed me was how much effort she put into understanding my personal style. She didn’t just look at my bridal inspiration photos—she also studied pictures of me from past events to ensure the makeup not only fit my vision but also looked like how I am used to seeing myself. My trial makeup was already stunning, but she took every note I gave her without hesitation and, on my wedding day, delivered exactly what I envisioned. I felt absolutely beautiful as a bride.
Mariana also worked seamlessly with my (also exceptional) bridal hairstylist, Elena, continuously checking in to make sure my overall look was perfect. On top of that, my makeup lasted the entire night—through tears, hours of intense dancing, and sweating—without a touch-up.
If you’re looking for a makeup artist who truly listens and delivers exactly what you ask for, I highly recommend Mariana!

Simple and elegant!
Mariana is a real make up artist, her work is just outstanding! she listened carefully to my ideas and the style I wanted and just mastered it! She was very professional by suggesting also what looks best for me, but taking care of the details so I feel confident with the results. I loved how simple and chic the results looked and it helped me relax and enjoy my day to the fullest.
Her staff was always very helpful in following up and taking care of the service.

Mariana was very flexible with the makeup trial and knowledgeable about the face skin condition, the importance of caring for it to improve the makeup, and the quality of the products, which was outstanding. She helped me ensure my face was properly hydrated for my wedding day, providing me with recommendations for products and facials. While doing the makeup, she is actively looking to ensure the makeup is coming out to your liking and makes the whole experience very educational and relaxing.
The best part of it all was that the makeup lasted from noon to 3 am without smearing or fading. I danced all night and the makeup was impeccable. I would highly recommend her for any event where you know you are going to have a good time and want to look perfect the entire time. -

Mariana a parte de tener una personalidad muy linda y honesta es una profesional muy responsable y ella si que sabe cómo hacerte sentir cómoda con su propia piel y maquillaje, así que para las chicas que se aventuran como yo en maquillarme con una profesional por primera vez se la recomiendo a ojos cerrados porque no hay nada como vivir una gran experiencia en ese mundo del maquillaje!!!
Para el día de la boda logró crearme un maquillaje muy natural y no muy pesado ya que quería sentirme cómoda y linda conmigo misma!!! A pesar de que pase llorando y sudando el día de mi boda, el maquillaje quedo INTACTO gracias a las técnicas y métodos que Mari aplicó, cosa que agradecí un montón porque pensé que tenia que estar retocándome a cada rato y perdiendo momentos importantes, o sea NO!!!
Siempre agradecida con Mari por hacerme destacar ese día tan especial y para cualquier evento importante la tengo en cuenta siempre, y más porque ya conoce mis fracciones asiáticas jeje AMO!!!!

Wedding Makeup with Mariana
Mariana is so professional and so responsive! With weddings, it’s so valuable to have a vendor that is ultra responsive and accommodating. I didn’t get a makeup trial prior to the wedding, but I found that Mariana really respected and beautifully created a makeup look that was similar to my inspiration photos. She started with an amazing skin-care routine that felt like a luxurious facial. My makeup stayed on all night and I truly felt so myself and so beautiful!! I highly recommend Mariana for your wedding makeup! -
