We chose Mariah Milan for a senior portrait shoot and had an amazing sunrise session. Mariah connected instantly with our senior. She captured her youth and beauty with the sun in her hair, sand on her toes and smile on her face all against the backdrop of the ocean.

Best Photographer

Every year for the last 10 years we do yearly photos. I always have a hard time finding one “perfect” photo to put on our holiday card. This year we moved to Maui and I asked Mariah to do our photos at our new home. She was kind, accommodating, wonderful, and easy to be around. It didn’t feel forced at all. When I received the pictures it was soo hard to choose one for the card. They were all excellent. Without hesitation I have already booked her for 2022 photos and recommend her to everyone I know. ♥️♥️

Amazing! Seriously best in Maui!

My husband and I went to Maui to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary by having a vow renewal, we wanted photography for this event. Mariah it’s a true professional. She gave me a professional opinion and her photographer was amazing the photos came back absolutely stunning I would definitely recommend choosing her for your next photography event. My husband is super picky when it comes to things like this and he is just amazed with how good the photos came out and absolutely loves them thank you Mariah and team!

Breathtaking photos!

Mariah and her team did an absolutely wonderful job photographing our wedding. The conditions were ever- changing, but they did everything possible to make things work- and it shows in the photos. It’s important to have a photographer that is versatile and can thrive in different weather conditions and last- minute location changes. Both of those things happened on our special day due to flash floods and rain, but everything turned out beautifully, and they made the entire experience feel effortless and enjoyable. 10/10 would recommend :)

Best Wedding Photographer on Maui!

Mariah made our day into a DREAM experience. She made us feel so comfortable and constantly at ease. She was funny, friendly, and easy to talk to and get along with. My now husband and I fell in love with her and her husband who helped make our dreams a reality. And when we received the photos, Oh my word they are INCREDIBLE. She captured our day in stunning detail. All that said... if you're in getting married in Maui, please hire Mariah as the photographer for your special day

We chose Mariah to photograph our wedding and we are so glad we did! From the moment of our shoot we felt like we were among friends. Mariah captured our magical day perfectly. Wonderful Photo & Experience - Highly Recommended

Mariah captured candid photos during my parents vow renewal. After, she took formal family photos and some fun photos too. Her work turned out BEAUTIFULLY. My family and I could not be happier with final product. As well, she is an absolute pleasure to work with. Mariah is incredibly creative - she offered suggestions to make the photos unique (i.e. twirls and dancing). Overall, my family and I are very happy with her work. Highly recommend Mariah if you are looking for a photographer on Maui!

Absolutely Perfect

We absolutely loved our wedding photos. Mariah is amazingly talented, super sweet and a breeze to work with! Her happy spirit shines in everything she does. Her husband Peter was also our officiant and helped with the flashes during our shoot. It was an absolute pleasure getting to know both of them and they truly made us feel special.

Unforgettable Experience

My now husband and I hired Mariah as the photographer for our elopement on May 6th, 2019. I would 100% recommend booking her if you find yourself on Maui as she was an absolute dream to work with. We were very nervous initially because neither of us were used to having our pictures professionally taken, but Mariah immediately made us feel totally at ease. She is such a genuinely kind and laid back person which helped us to relax and enjoy every moment. She offered great direction and made us feel so special on our big day. Mariah has such an artistic vision and was eager to move us around to get a variety of shots and backdrops. She was kind enough to send a few sneak peaks the following day and I cannot wait to see what else she captured!

A great photographer!

Wonderful engagement photo experience!

We regularly vacation in Maui, and once we got engaged we knew it would be the perfect place to get some photos. We found Mariah through a Google search and instantly fell in love with her style. Mariah made our session so easy. We instantly felt at ease with her and she gave us great direction. She was extremely professional and efficient and knew just where to take us to get amazing shots. She even graciously stayed late with us on a Friday evening to go to one last location. She delivered our gallery notably ahead of schedule, and the pictures are amazing! We will cherish the images for the rest of our lives and will look forward to our next occasion for pictures with Mariah when in Maui. Highly recommended!

Mariah was the perfect choice for us!

Mariah is an amazing photographer. From the moment you meet, she will make you feel comfortable and at ease. She is able to capture the light and love of your wedding day. Immediately after our elopement, we hiked a lava trail and jumped from a sea cliff in our wedding attire. Mariah was up for the adventure and captured all of these special moments. Mariah was the perfect choice for us!

Engagement Photos

Engagement photos

I had an awesome experience with Mariah and Samantha. Mariah’s response to my booking was really quick. She was very geniuine, kind, warm and welcoming through every conversation. While planning, Mariah definitely made me feel confident that she would bring to life the engagement photos I envisioned, in regards to location and the background of what Maui really meant to both my fiancé and I.

Samantha was our actual photographer for the day and she was awesome! The weather was perfect and it was fun just hanging out with my fiancé, while Samantha took pictures. She definitely made us feel comfortable to be ourselves while taking pictures. Exchanging stories with Samantha and getting to know her made the shoot even better.

The turn around time on the edited engagement photos was earlier than I expected (about 2 weeks after the pictures were taken). Which was awesome! I got to see the pictures right away through a private link. The website, the pictures were uploaded to, was very easy to navigate. From the pictures themselves to the editing- I really, really, really loved how they turned out! I honestly could not choose a set amount of pictures to have, so I ended up purchasing the entire gallery.

Overall my experience from beginning to end was more than I expected. I think my favorite part of the whole experience was getting to engage with Mariah and Samantha. They are just genuine, kind hearted, awesome people that more of this world needs. If I ever need future pictures on Maui, please be sure you’ll be hearing from me again. Thanks again Mariah and Samantha for the beautiful pictures.

Moments of Light & Love

Mariah's tagline on her website is "moments of light and love," and that is truly what she delivers with her photography. Having worked with many photographers over the years (as a bridesmaid, in my wedding, and in numerous family shoots), Mariah glows with talent (and it's not just her pink hair!). We were in Maui to celebrate my mother's retirement and Mariah's photos captured the joy of celebrating this momentous occasion. Our shoot occurred on an overcast Maui day, but Mariah's photos radiate light and love. They feel warm and intimate and I found myself smiling, laughing, and tearing at the photos as I went through my photo gallery. Her photos provided a range of poses: posed and spontaneous photos for each member of the family. She also captured unique details and perspectives that I never imagined were possible. My 2.5 year old toddler was not in the greatest mood, but you wouldn't be able to tell from these photos. Mahalo for capturing this special trip for my family.

Mariah is a wonderful and talented photographer! She was patient with our 3 young boys that are wild and energetic. Mariah is extremely talented and professional with a great eye for lighting, placement and the ability to make you feel very comfortable. We took pictures with three children ages 4, 6 and 15, and they thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the session.

I should preface this by saying I often have to do photoshoots in my line of work and have worked with many photographers around the country. My husband and I came to Maui for our honeymoon a few weeks ago and decided to schedule a photoshoot with Mariah after being impressed by the stunning photos on her Instagram page. We knew we wanted to capture some of our honeymoon! Look NO FURTHER for an amazing photographer than right here. I would highly recommend Mariah to anyone looking to get some beautiful photos for literally anything - their wedding, anniversary, honeymoon, engagement, etc. She is so talented and turns everything into magic through her lens. She grew up in Maui and has lived their her whole life, so she is a TRUE local! Because of this, she knows the most beautiful (and secret) spots for shooting, is so knowledgable about Maui culture, is able to share inside info on where to eat/where not to, which makes the experience that much more authentic. She is so caring and professional and direct, yet still laid-back. She even sends cute little tip emails leading up to the shoot so you feel prepared! During the shoot, she directs you and leads you into moments and poses so you never feel awkward. I can't say enough amazing things about Mariah. Thank you so much for giving us photos and memories that we will cherish for a lifetime!!!

Mariah was just amazing. She made my fiancé and I so comfortable, it was like we had all known each other forever. She is so talented and easy to work with that our engagement shoot in Maui easily became one of our favorite memories from the trip. I was searching everywhere for an island photographer to capture this special time and I can't imagine working with anyone else. We wanted amazing pictures, but didn't want to spend all day taking them. Mariah knew exactly where to take us for exactly what we wanted and we got the EXACT photos we wanted in under an hour. Not only did our pictures come out I.N.C.R.E.D.I.B.L.E. but Mariah even gave us some island history that we will be using in our wedding vows. Overall, if you are in Maui and looking for the most precious souvenir - I couldn't recommend Mariah more!!

Mariah has photographed our family for 3 years now, and we're very happy with her work. She has a wonderful eye for beautiful and unique shots, and I love the way she captures our family in a natural way. My boys become very comfortable with her, even our camera shy 8 year old. We always get beautiful, fun pictures and have an enjoyable session. Looking forward to more amazing photos in the future. I did a lot of research for Maui photographers before I choose Mariah. I loved her work and the fact she offered a mini session for a reasonable price. Prior to meeting her, she was very responsive and professional with her emails and correspondence and also offered advice on what to wear and where to eat on the island. The photo session was amazing. Mariah was so great with our almost 5 year old daughter; letting her get involved in "posing" me and kept her smiling and happy. She made both myself and boyfriend comfortable taking pictures. I really like how she took a variety of pics-family, some maternity pics of just me, and a few of our daughter. Shortly after the pictures, she texted me a sneak peek and our gallery was ready to few in just less than 2 weeks (as promised). We all loved Mariah, she is so sweet, friendly, fun yet professional. We are so happy with our family pictures and will cherish them forever. Thank you, Mariah!!

We have used many photographers over the years for our extended family vacations. The service, friendliness, competence, and quality of Photography by Mariah Milan for exceeded any of the vacation photographers in the last 20 years. She was patient and caring towards my elderly parents and took the time to explain everything we were doing so they felt completely comfortable. The pictures turned out gorgeous and we are all thrilled with the photographs! I highly recommend Mariah Milan!!!

My husband and I had the treat of having Mariah shoot our maternity session on the beach while we were babymooning on Maui. Leading up to the session Mariah was responsive, helpful and gave great tips/ advice on what to expect and how to get the most out of our experience. On the day of our shoot Mariah was early, arrived with her helpful husband and was in a very positive mood. She was extremely professional, did not waste any time getting to it and made us feel relaxed and confident. As the session went along it was clear Mariah had a lot of experience doing what she does and that she is a true artist. We left without a doubt in our mind we would have the pictures we wanted. This was confirmed but an hour later when she sent us some sneak peaks. Mariah gave us a timeline of when to expect our pictures by and must have worked extra hard because we got them back even earlier than that! Our friends and family have all been blown away by our images from our mini session on Baldwin beach and we are still swooning of these pictures that we will treasure forever. Thank you Mariah! We cannot wait to come back to Maui and will absolutely be booking a session with you when we do.

We are beyond thrilled with the pictures from our small ceremony at Ironwoods beach in April!! Mariah was so kind and comfortable to work with, she even offered to let me wear her sandals to get a good picture in a rocky area! We got every picture we asked for and more. When my husband and I first saw the photos they were better than we could have ever imaged and he even said we should be wedding models haha! We highly recommend Mariah to anyone looking for photography in Maui, she is beyond amazing!

We selected Mariah to shoot our babymoon pictures while we were in Maui, and we couldn't have been more pleased. Mariah was professional, kind, and easy to work with. While researching the photographer in Maui I came across Mariah's work and was blown away. Before I booked with Mariah I had a brief chat with her and she seemed very warm. I was able to share my shoot vision with ease and she answered all my questions and queries about the shoot making me feel confident of what to expect on shoot day. We chose Mariah Milan to take our family photos while we were vacationing in Maui and I am so glad we did! She was absolutely fantastic when it came to every single aspect of our experience from before we booked to ordering prints.

Mariah was very prompt in responding to multiple questions before we even officially booked our experience. She answered all of our questions and was able to suggest the perfect spot for our photo shoot! In the weeks prior to us arriving she sent us tips for her favorite restaurants, activities and suggestions for outfits for the family.

I will absolutely recommend her to every single person that is going to be on Maui.

Mariah is No Ka Oi... My husband and I were in Maui celebrating our 40th Anniversary. I researched a number of local Photographers and was soooo happy to have found her website. We were only going to be on Maui for one more week and the weather was a bit uncooperative, however Mariah was so very sweet to rearrange her schedule to accommodate our photo shoot. Our concierge recommended Mariah Milan Photogrphy for our Thanksgiving vacation in Maui. We wanted to capture our family of four in the place we love - the beach at sunset. Mariah was incredible to work with. She was responsive from the very beginning providing us recommendations not only for how to prepare for the photo shoot but also what her favorite restaurants are on Maui! We used Mariah Milan for both our wedding photography and her wedding coordinating business, Maile Maui Weddings, for our elopement on Maui. It was just us plus our two young boys so we had a two hour photography session. The weather was a bit questionable that week and even that day but it blossomed into perfection for our shoot. It was a bit cloudy at first but the sun came beaming through at the end and the sunset was amazing. The beach we chose (with the guidance of Maile Maui Weddings and Mariah) was Kapalua Beach.) This beach had so much to offer with the dark rocks, the very green greenery on the other side, palms in the distance and, of course, sand and surf. We received so many compliments on our photos and we would have been satisfied if only 30% of the images turned out the way they did. We are beyond satisfied with the results; we are having a hard time choosing which to frame. The hair/makeup company they suggested was great, too. When I first looked in the mirror, I wasn't so sure. I thought it was a bit much but I am so happy with the way it turned out in photos. Mariah and her staff were so easy to work with and I am glad we put our trust in them to make our day so perfect. They know what they are doing- they are professionals. I wish there was a way I could post some of our photos to prove it!

We absolutely loved our photo session with Mariah over the Thanksgiving Holiday. I searched for a photographer before our trip to Maui and found her on-line through her amazing reviews and beautiful photos. It's not that often that my entire family gets to travel together so I thought it was time for a new family photo especially since we have a new grandchild. Mariah was so great to work with. She made it such a fun experience. When I tried to book on-line there were no morning sessions available (babies do better in the morning), so I sent her a message asking if she had anything open. She sent me a message right back and found an opening for us. She is so accommodating! On top of her being a great photographer her communication and follow-up leading up to the session was incredible. She is so thorough and organized too. I can't say enough great things about Mariah. You will not be disappointed...she's fantastic!

I am SO happy we chose Mariah for our wedding photos! We eloped on Maui and were nervous about having someone we hadn't met doing such important pictures (especially since they were the only way our families got to see our wedding!) but we couldn't have asked for a better photographer than Mariah!!

During the ceremony we didn't even notice her, but she captured the most amazing moments that still make me tear up every time I look at the photos. Our photos after the ceremony were a breeze! She was fun and professional AND she didn't make us doing anything cheesy!

Now the really important part: I thought our pictures would be good, but I was FLOORED with how beautiful they were! I've never liked any picture ever taken of me as an adult, but there wasn't a single one she sent that I didn't like. We loved the photos so much that we ended up buying almost twice as many as we had planned!

Great communication, unbelievable quality and talent. Don't hesitate to book with Mariah! We will go back to her any time we need photos taken on the island!

I am so happy we found Mariah Milan for our family photo shoot on Maui. I followed six different Maui photographers on Instagram and read reviews before choosing Mariah. Her work definitely stood out and I loved her style from what I saw online. Booking with her was an easy process once we determined on her website that our date was available. Communication with her was clear and timely throughout the whole process. ??We have nine family members and three are under the age of five. One of the kids can be a little reluctant about photo sessions and I communicated that with Mariah in advance.

We met at DT Fleming beach for our morning session and there was a rainbow right on cue (Thanks, Mariah!:) She was friendly and easy-going but obviously a professional. She worked her magic on our little reluctant smiler and we not only had fun, but ended up with a beautiful portfolio of shots. It is so important to capture moments like a multi-generational vacation with professional photos. Best money we spent on the trip. Mariah was a joy to work with and her beautiful work speaks for itself.

Mariah was amazing! We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary on Maui and wanted a great photographer. This was very important to me so I did my research and saw many great reviews on Mariah Milan Photography. But I am a tough customer and wanted to see for myself so I contacted her with a few questions. She responded right away and wished me luck on my search. I was surprised that she did not bombard me with emails asking me to pick her. I believe she knew that her photography said it all. I fell in love with her pictures. I read her Bio and knew that she was the one that would take care of my family. I set the date and paid the deposit and within minutes received a confirmation email. Soon after I received detailed instructions on what to expect from her- Thank GOD someone knows how to do business! Her information sheet was easy to fill out and I could tell she did her homework because it felt like she knew my family and called us all by name. We can be a little unstructured/goofy and I thought maybe she would get one good shot. 10 years, 2 kids later, and Maui… so one good shot was going to be good enough for me. Well it wasn’t good enough for Mariah. She surpassed my expectations and gave me beautiful family photos. She gave me a sneak peek that day and I knew it was a busy day for her because she had plans with her family. What a breath of fresh air! Her connection to people and the island are unexplainable. She taught us things about Maui that made the kids laugh and left my husband and me in wonder. It was such a fun shoot and she handled the kids… and my camera shy husband very well. I could not have asked for a better experience from a photographer, someone I am doing business with. She made us feel like we were home. Mariah was an amazing photographer. She is very professional and organized. From the moment we expressed we received instant communication. There was important dialog spent upfront so that she can truly understand what we were looking for in our photos. Once the right location was identified, we received precise communication as to where to meet and what to expect. The actual photo experience was so fun and easy. Our entire family voted this phot session as the most enjoyable we've ever experienced. We took family photos with our three girls ranging from 8 to 23 on a gorgeous beach in Maui. My family and I had the pleasure of having Mariah take photos of myself and three children on our first trip to Maui. From the minute I saw Mariah’s work I knew I had picked a wedding photographer. She has a natural ability to capture genuine emotion and knows exactly how to get the best out of the surroundings. On our wedding day Mariah put us in the best positions for gorgeous photos, she chased the sunset with us and scaled the clifftops on Ironwood beach to get the perfect shot.

Mariah was warm and friendly and made my husband and I feel so relaxed. We are both pretty shy in front of the camera and don’t take many photos so we were naturally worried about wedding day pictures. Mariah knew how to make us laugh and relax and we couldn’t be happier with the way our photos turned out. We didn’t have many family and friends at our wedding but everyone who has seen our photos has said they can really feel the emotion through our pictures and feel like they were there on the day.

Mariah was fantastic to work with, highly recommended! She photographed our destination wedding in Maui at white orchid beach house. I can't say enough wonderful things about Mariah. From the moment I scheduled an appointment shoot with her, she was incredibly responsive, professional and had such a pleasant demeanor. She took photos of my daughter and I to capture our very first mother-daughter trip to Maui. I have been meaning to write this review for ages but life got busy. However, even though it's late I HAD to leave a review of this AMAZING photographer! I honestly can not say enough good things about Mariah. In fact when I first wrote this review they told me it was too long to post! :) What initially drew me to her was her beautiful work and the fact that she talks so much about giving back to her community on her website. She is the most genuine and selfless person you will meet. She has a real heart of gold and passion for her island. It's really beautoul to see and it comes through in her work. She was always very quick with responses and even over e-mail I could tell she was warm, friendly, and personable. She was so willing to help us with our day and even helped with details for our trip that had nothing to do with our photo shoot. And she went above and beyond to help us find the perfect locations and have a perfect day. She was so relaxed and yet totally in control on the day and made sure it all went smoothly even when the weather wasn't fully cooperating. She was sooo patient with our kids and I can't thank her enough for that. We will treasure the images and memories for a lifetime! Choosing Mariah was the best decision I made for our trip to Maui. I rave about her to everyone and always tell everyone I know that if you are going to Maui you HAVE to book a session with Mariah. It will be the highlight of your vacation!

Mariah helped capture my now-fiance Jake's surprise proposal to me on our vacation to Maui. Even though Jake hadn't met her before, she went out of her way to help him, including suggestion a location for the proposal itself. She was staked out "taking photos of the sunset" while Jake led me onto the rocks where he popped the question, and Mariah of course captured the whole thing. Not only do we now have dozens of beautiful photos of that day and moment, but she took a cell phone photo to send to us so that we could have one to share right away while she was developing the professional photos. Jake and I did not know how to pose and are a bit awkward on camera, and she made us feel at ease. The photos turned out great and were sent to us only a couple weeks later as promised, and we love having access to an online digital gallery.

Travelling to Maui for our wedding from Australia and Canada, my husband and I were worried about finding vendors. As soon as we contacted Mariah, our worries were put to rest - she's lovely! And she and her husband Peter were just as amazing when we met them on our wedding day. They were both part of the whole day and made us feel comfortable in every photo. We LOVE the photos, and had sooo many compliments regarding the photos and the talent and creativity of our photographer! Could not recommend her more highly - beautiful people!

I can not say enough positive things about Mariah. Since I live in Illinois and had never been to Hawaii I knew nothing, besides what I had read on the internet. Mariah was very helpful by answering any questions I had. She provided suggestions and referred me to other vendors as well. On the wedding day, Mariah took the leadership role and, in friendly manner, directed everyone to create the most beautiful pictures. After a while, she politely asked the family to wait for us outside the beach while my husband and I took pics on our own. Mariah was so much fun to work with. It rained THE ENTIRE morning of our wedding, and it was touch and go if it was going to even happen! Mariah was so sweet with her positive encouragement that the rain would move out for us, and that she was coming down to our side of the island anyway! Well... she was right.... the rain DID clear up and she got some gorgeous pictures of us. We spent an hour walking up and down big beach with her having so much fun. We have used Mariah on two different occasions. The most recent was for our wedding in Maui last July. This was our first time to Maui and Mariah was such a huge help. She helped us pick a spot for our wedding and also for pictures. We enjoyed working with her and her husband so much. They made us feel so comfortable and we had so much fun taking all the pictures. We were very pleased with the way all the images came out. I recommend her to everyone I know. She’s the best!!

Mariah was simply amazing and one of the best parts of my crazy wedding. You can hire her with confidence and know that of all the things that can go astray on your special day, that she will not be one of them and you will get the best pictures possible. She is not only EXTREMELY affordable in the INSANE world of wedding pricing but she is flexible, calming and offers lots of great advice for nervous brides. Just hire her already!

Mariah was very helpful before, during, and after the photo shoot. She even drove to our Airbnb rental house, so we could follow her to the right beach. She made it easy by suggesting different poses, and using the time well.

We couldn't have asked for a better photography session than we had with Mariah. Mariah was patient and wonderful with our three year old little guy, open to our suggestions about shots we might like and when all was said and done, we ended up with some great photos. I would recommend her very highly.

I was so very happy when we saw our photo's from Mariah Milan. I am a person who just doesn't take good photo's and when my husband and I sat down and opened up the photo gallery, I cried. They were beautiful. I was was brought back immediately to our special moment on that beach and getting married and I actually thought I looked pretty. Mariah was nothing but professional and helpful and so friendly and easy to talk to. This is my first marriage and first time with a professional photographer. I would definately call Mariah again.
