A Great Wedding Host in DJ Dario

My wife and I reached out to Marc to arrange a DJ for our wedding and we were so happy that DJ Dario was our host! Dario reached out and set up multiple meetings with us to find the music we wanted and (also importantly) the music we didn't. Dario not only played exactly the music we wanted (as well as some guest suggestions!), but also hosted the reception flawlessly. Overall, we were extremely please with Dario!

Wedding - DJ Matthew Luck

DJ Matthew Luck was our DJ for our wedding. We highly recommend him. He helped us plan our key songs such as the first dance and cake cutting songs all while we were living in a different state. He provided us with a list of popular songs which was very helpful when it all seemed overwhelming. He was punctual to the wedding and easily reachable for anything we needed prior to the day of the wedding. We gave him a few songs we wanted played, and he was able to play music to the crowd to keep everyone engaged and having a good time. He is definitely experienced. He noticed that our food services were running behind and approached us to initiate the cake cutting and toasts to keep things on schedule. We really appreciated that because we wanted enough time at the end to dance which we were able to get because of him. Highly recommend booking DJ Matthew Luck for your wedding or any other event.

Marc Augenbraum DJ Services is the best!

I was originally referred to Marc Augenbraum through a mutual connection. After checking out his website and speaking with him, I knew that his services would be perfect for our big day. Seriously, go to his website and look at all the "Best Of" and "Couple's Choice" and other various awards and accolades he has. If that isn’t enough, just keep reading here. Before we signed a contract, we had a long conversation about my wants and expectations, as well as about Marc's experience and services. He made me feel very confident in my choice by clearly outlining pricing as well as a general plan for the day. Our wedding ceremony was outside with a reception inside, so we needed sound support in several locations to varying degrees.

Marc then set me up with Matthew Luck, who would be the actual DJ on site. Our experience with him was just as phenomenal. My now-wife and I talked with him on the phone, again going over expectations and our joint plan for the day. Matt provided us with a wedding planning worksheet where we were able to outline all of our song choices, special requests, "do-not-plays", and anything you can think of. When the day came, Matt arrived early and was all set up outside before I even knew what was going on. Sound delivery during the ceremony was incredible, including using multiple microphones to capture our officiant, my wife and I, and other speakers.

Once we moved inside, Matt provided light, easy musical accompaniments for cocktail hour. As we were planning the night with Matt, he said he takes pride in being able to read a room and tailor the music to keep the party going. He started the party and blew it out for hours on end, delivering the perfect playlist for guests of all ages and musical tastes to find something to enjoy. Matt also served as a great emcee for the night, not only introducing the bridal party, parent dances, and events such as the cake cutting, but he also kept things moving when we transitioned to another room for dinner and toasts. He made sure that sound was sufficient in there and kept everyone moving from place to place to keep the event on track.

If you've read this far, congratulations because I can only assume that you've now made the easy decision to go with Marc Augenbraum DJ Services. And as his name would imply, I hope you have the "Luck" to have Matt on-site with you. All of Marc's prestigious awards and recognitions are extremely well-earned, and I can't imagine our wedding without the top-shelf service he and Matt provided.

Great music, great to work with

Our DJ was Matthew Luck and we were delighted with the music at our ceremony and reception! Our guests weren't the easiest group to get dancing, but Matthew did a great job of playing songs that appealed to everyone and several of our guests commented on how great the music was. We especially appreciated how he worked with us to figure out what kind of music we wanted, and we were impressed by his flexibility incorporating some last-minute changes to our ceremony music. He also did a great job of keeping the reception on schedule. He was a pleasure to work with and we would strongly recommend him!

We also rented a photo booth through Marc and we were really happy with the quality of the presentation. The attendant who ran the booth was great, our guests really enjoyed it, and we love looking at the photos from the booth!

Couldn't have asked for better

We hired Marc to DJ our wedding in June. He was professional, responsive, and attentive to our needs. The guests were dancing until the last minute, and many people said they had a great time. Marc exceeded our expectations and we would hire him again in a heartbeat.

Flexible and Fun

We hired Matt, one of the DJs on Marc’s team for our wedding. We had a plan in place for how the day would go, but it rained and some things got moved around. Matt was very flexible and everything went smoothly! He was responsive to email and phone call. We talked several times before the event to go over the plan. We had a schedule for the reception, which he tried to keep us on track. When that didn’t go to plan (ran late on a few things, cut out the shoe game, etc.) he was very flexible. By the end of the night everyone was pretty toast from the dancing and booze, in a good way! Friends came up to me to tell me it was one of the most fun weddings they’ve attended. Lots of people were on the dance floor having a blast. Matt chose the best songs from our playlist and took requests from the guests to keep the fun vibe going. Thank you for helping us have a great time!

Perfect in every way!

I worked with Marc to hire a DJ for my daughters Quinceanera last fall. The DJ is Matthew Luck. He is amazing. The music, games, trivia, and the timing was perfect. Look no further for a DJ

Marc did my brothers wedding a couple years ago so from the moment i knew i was getting engaged he was the first one i called. he referred me to his Dj Mathew. Mathew from the moment i spoke with him i was so comfortable and trusted his judgement in regards what to play. we had a greek elegant wedding at a botanical garden so we had a bit of an older crowd. Mathew attention to detail, organization and promptness WOWed my husband and we fully trusted in whatever he felt was needed. The perfect addition to your event team!

Our family poured over numerous different websites and companies looking for the perfect DJ for our party and finally settled on working with Marc. To say the least, we have no regrets! Marc worked for quite some time with my mom to help her pick perfect and meaningful songs to play throughout their 40th wedding anniversary party. She had a vision of the vibe/theme of the party and Marc really worked with us to try and make that a reality. Leading up to the party, the music was at the top of her list of things she was really excited about (which is impressive given the planning part of an event isn't often all that fun). Long story short, Marc was amazing at every step of the process. He is accommodating and flexible and his communication style and personal attention really made us feel like he cared as much about our event as we did. We couldn’t be more grateful for his time and expertise. You won’t regret adding Marc to part of your event team!

Marc was great to work with. He's very organized and experienced. He knows what music will keep people on the dance floor. I was a bit skeptical because I can be a music snob, but Marc had people dancing all night. He really knows what he's doing. He worked with us on our schedule and kept everything organized the day of. He was even so kind as to call us the day before the wedding and make sure that everything was going okay. It was a really nice touch. You can't go wrong with choosing him!

I can't say enough good things about working with Marc and our particular DJ, Matthew Luck. We were having a small, casual wedding with a limited budget and they accommodated our budget and non-traditional requests and were extremely responsive and patient. Furthermore, Matthew was phenomenal at the wedding and worked with us to make an amazing playlist incorporating our guest requests as well as music that merged with it seamlessly. Marc was the DJ for our wedding reception at Chantilly National Golf & Country Club. He did a great job. Guests were out on the dance floor all night long. We received several compliments on the music he was playing and his professionalism. He was great at following our timeline and getting all the songs or special dances we wanted played. Marc absolutely killed it! Everyone was on the dance floor, literally, all night. There were only one or two ebbs, and by ebb I mean a few people left the dance floor to get another drink. The songs were requested were expertly woven in, either to dinner service or perfectly placed during the dance floor hours. He even understood (and clarified) for some of our more unusual requests. I cannot say enough good things about Marc - everything was perfect. People are still RAVING about the music. As one of the guests commented, "party of the century". Cannot recommend highly enough!

Marc was an excellent DJ and master of ceremonies for our wedding reception. He kept everyone dancing all night long and was truly a professional. He was extremely responsive throughout the planning process and helped guide us on the order of events for our reception (when to have the first dance, etc.) We needed a very eclectic mix of music for our party since my husband is from Germany and Marc made it very easy to include German, American and a wide variety of other songs from around the world. Everyone has been raving about what a great party we had and how much fun it was! Book Marc and you won't be disappointed!

We hired Marc to deejay for our May 13, 2017 wedding after reading several exemplary reviews from different sources and could not have asked for a better vendor! Marc was extremely professional and responsive to our questions and requests throughout the process and was always available via phone or email. Marc made the process easy by sending us a questionnaire before the wedding that asked for specific songs (first dance, cake cutting, last dance, etc), including a do not play list. He listened to what we wanted, was easily able to get a good sense of the crowd to determine his playlist, was always open to offer music suggestions, and was very flexible to schedule changes the day of. All of our guests were on the floor most of the night and commented on how great the music selection was since we had a mix of everything from easy-listening Dave Brubeck and Chuck Mangione during dinner to get-up and dance music like N'Sync and Ed Sheeran for after dinner. He even played the Pennsylvania Polka at my mother-in-law’s request, and got all of the Polish pronunciations in the wedding party correct! He made the reception a beautiful, memorable, and fun experience for all who were there, from the bridal party entrance to the last dance. We highly recommend Marc and would definitely hire him again for future events!

We had Marc DJ our May 20th wedding, and he absolutely killed it! From the cocktail hour, to the first dance and parent dances, announcing, and filling the dance floor all night Marc came through 100% to make our reception amazing and fun. He is incredibly swift with responses to emails (under 30 minutes, nearly every time-- the fastest of any vendor in our wedding), was helpful in our initial consultation, laid back and upfront about his extensive experience. We gave him what felt like very little guidance (because he makes it easy to tell you what you want) and he executed better than I could have imagined. Throughout the night I was hearing songs thinking "this is my favorite song by ___ artist and I didn't even tell him that". The dance floor was packed through the night, and we had a blast! Would highly recommend Marc as your DJ-- he's a great value and you won't regret it!!

My wife and I used Marc to DJ our wedding earlier this year at the St. Regis in Washington, DC, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Marc is an expert at guiding the evening's transitions, speeches, dances, and special moments without stealing the show. Furthermore, he is a great DJ with an extremely versatile music repertoire. My wife and I gave Marc a smattering of songs we liked from a wide spectrum of genre's and he was able to work everything into the night flawlessly! There wasn't a single song I remember being disappointed in. If you are considering using a DJ at your wedding, you can't do better than Marc.

We can't say enough good things about working with Marc. He was very professional from our first meeting up to the reception itself. He had good advice about the timing and order of events but was not pushy at all. He was open to all of our ideas and understood what kind of music we wanted. The number one reason we picked Marc was the fact that so many of his reviews mentioned how he played the right mix of music to get everyone from grandparents to small children on the dance floor and that was definitely the case for our wedding as well. Our guests ended up chanting "One more song!" at the end of the night because they were having so much fun. To top it off he was reasonably priced too! We would recommend him to anyone who asks with no reservations.

Marc was great! He put a lot of time into preparing for our wedding, and it showed at the reception. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, he spoke with us at length about the order of events, our music-preferences, and our special traditions. Throughout the process, he gave us valued advice.

He made our plan happen, and he had everyone dancing all night. He read the crowd, and he played music that everyone (young to old) could enjoy. Marc is a professional, and we were lucky to have him as our DJ!

Marc was a dream come true. We wanted a DJ that would play not only our favorites but the favorite songs of our guests (16yo - 70+yo) . He brought an exceptional knowledge of pop music from all eras and kept everyone feeling happy and dancing the night away. Everyone made it out to the dance floor at least once and most stayed out for a good long while.

On the planning side of things he was incredibly responsive to our phone calls and even drove across town on short notice to meet us at our venue to plan the equipment layout and go over our song lists. He spoke very well as our MC and dressed sharply for the occasion.

Most importantly, he took a huge part of our big day and made sure it ran smoothly without any issues.

If we ever need music for a future event, my wife and I will be contacting Marc first.

Marc provided the music for our wedding reception. My bride and I were very pleased with Marc's work--he did a great job incorporating the songs that were special to us along with other tracks that all of our guests loved. I can't even begin to describe how much fun we all had dancing, and it was very much due to Marc. He was also quite adept at being a master of ceremonies without drawing too much attention to himself--he knew exactly when to make his presence known and where to hang back.

Marc was particularly great when he helped us out with planning the order of events at our reception. We really had no idea how we should lay things out, from the introductions to the toasts to the dances with our parents and with each other. Marc was really great about helping us nail down a timeline that worked for us, and we really benefited from his experience.

Overall, we were very impressed with his professionalism and willingness to give us a hand with other parts of our reception. I'd recommend him to anyone looking for great quality music work. He's very responsive with any requests, and will help to make your day go off without a hitch.

Marc was PHENOMENAL! My husband and I were a little concerned that the dance floor may not be the most attractive place for our mostly-conservative families but we also knew we had some friends who wouldn't want to sit down. Our challenge was to find the right balance of music - slow vs. fast, pop vs country vs old school hip hop vs classic rock - and throw a party everyone could enjoy. Marc not only delivered, he blew my expectations out of the water. His ability to read a crowd and adjust accordingly is a talent that cannot be taught. Not only was the dance floor packed, he was able to get my 94 year old grandmother out there!!! Trust me, my entire family remarked on how through all the weddings - her kids, grandkids, great grandkids - no one had ever seen her dance once. Kudos to you, Marc!

Additionally, Marc was very easy to work with. He worked around our busy schedules to find a time to meet and go over the details and coordinated directly with the venue to ensure he had all the power, tables, etc that he needed, which was a big help considering how much else there is to do. I would HIGHLY recommend hiring Marc to turn your reception into a memorable party.

We had to navigate a very culturally diverse group of guests and traditions (a British girl + 1/2 Dutch and 1/2 Greek boy = Big fat mostly Greek, somewhat British, with nods to the Netherlands wedding) and it simply couldn't have been done without Marc. From the moment we met him he was willing to work with us on anything we needed, from negotiating a fair price to locating elusive cultural dance music. We had to have two first dances (one Greek and one American) and he was fantastic in working our timeline, offering suggestions, and even researching the appropriate way to pronounce song names and other culturally difficult things to pronounce. Marc was with us every step of the very very confusing way and was one element of the wedding that I had absolutely no anxiety about whatsoever. He is an amazing professional with the persona of a friend and I have and will continue to recommend his services at every opportunity.

Marc provided the music services for our wedding and he was fantastic. He is a consummate professional who takes his work very seriously and his dedication shows. He took extra time to ensure he had all the pronunciations correct for us (my last name is VERY tricky) and nailed it! Marc is also very experienced in the industry, having done this for decades, and his passion is apparent the minute you meet him. Marc DJ'd for our wedding on July 25th of this year, he was extremely professional and helpful in choosing a playlist. My husband and I love all kinds of music and he seamlessly blended all kinds of genres together like a master! We didn't even think we would be able to have a DJ at our venue, but about 3 weeks beforehand we found out that our venue actually could accommodate a dance floor as well as a DJ. We called a few vendors and the only one we clicked with was Marc. At our reception, he made sure that we, the couple, actually ate a plate of dinner before he would let the real dancing start. Now I know to some that that may sound strange, but it meant that we actually got to eat at our wedding! I have heard so many stories of brides and grooms never even tasting their food, but if you hire Marc you will get to eat AND have an amazing time. He managed the playlist so well that everyone was up and dancing. My husband and I were the last ones to leave the reception and we danced the entire time. I'm so glad we found Marc and were able to end up having a DJ at the wedding. Thanks Marc!

We contacted Marc Augenbraum because he was referred by another DJ. He contracted a DJ named Wyatt, who has his own business as well YiT entertainment and it was the best thing that could've happened. Marc and Wyatt both kept in touch with us and communication was excellent. Wyatt was phenomenal! Not only was working with him easy and extremely helpful, but our wedding was amazing and a lot of that was because of Wyatt. He played the perfect songs at the perfect time, and kept our guests on the dance floor the whole night. He was so much fun and definitely exceeded our expectations. The best part for us, was that we had as much input on song selection as we wanted. We were able to choose songs from a database and collect song requests from our guests and plug them in. It was truly amazing, and I can't say enough good things about Wyatt and Marc.

I called Marc Augenbraum DJ Services to inquire about a DJ for my August 29, 2015 wedding. (And I called within a month of my wedding date!) Marc was great to talk to. Not only was he very personable, but he was extremely professional as well. He hooked me up with a DJ named Wyatt Hill (Y it Entertainment). Wyatt totally rocked my reception! Everyone from 3 year olds to 75 year olds danced all night long! Both Marc and Wyatt were great to work with throughout the entire process and they both made my wedding night a huge success! I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for DJ services for their wedding.

Marc DJ-ed my wedding reception and did an amazing job. Though not a particularly dance-enthusiastic family, he had everyone there on the dance floor. I saw my aunt, who has been seriously ill for years, get up and dance to Taylor Swift. It was an amazing day and Marc undoubtedly was the highlight of the entire reception. Our daughter and new son-in-law were married on April 11, 2015. They chose Marc to be the DJ at the reception because of his experience, professional demeanor and friendly manner. We had a great time at the ballroom and much of that was because Marc was the perfect DJ for the job. He communicated by phone with the bride-to-be so that she and her fiancé knew how to best select the music for the reception. He provided a complete list of recordings that proved to be excellent for the celebration. The communication between Marc and us was excellent and we were able to plan a terrific party. The fun began after the wedding and everyone enjoyed the program that Marc and the kids produced. The dance floor was never empty but full of our families and friends having fun. We had a wedding of an easterner to a westerner and that made for an excellent mix of music not to mention dance styles. We highly recommend Marc.

We hired Marc Augenbraum DJ Services for our September 2014 wedding. Working with Marc was very easy and he's a true professional. The morning of our day, it was pouring rain in the morning and with our ceremony being outside, we were to have music before and after the ceremony. Thankfully, about 3 hrs before the ceremony, the rain stopped and Marc was very accommodating in keeping with the plan, even though the ground was saturated, to set up his equipment outside and it was perfect. When it was time for the reception and the music, everything was terrific. We had guests of varying ages and with Marc's knowledge of reading the audience and knowing his music, everyone was up and dancing, including my 89-yr old mother. Our guests had such a great time dancing, we barely followed the timeline put together because again, Marc was excellent at reading the rhythm of the night. We received many, many compliments on the wonderful evening of music. We'd definitely hire Marc's services again and highly recommend him for your wedding.

Marc was recommended by our salesperson at The Willard, and we are so happy we took her advice and contracted with him for our daughter’s wedding reception! He is a pro from start to finish. He met in person with our daughter and her fiance, who was very concerned about getting just the right DJ. They were enthusiastic about Marc immediately. He called them the week of the wedding to go over their submitted playlist and to make sure he fully understood the direction they wanted the music to take. At the same time, he checked on the pronunciation of all of the names of the members of the wedding party for the Grand Entrance. (He did an absolutely letter-perfect job on all of the names, by the way.) On their wedding day, he read the crowd perfectly and delivered just the right mix of music. We cannot remember another wedding where the music selection was so good or where so many people were dancing. Not only that, he made all of the announcements that we asked him to make in a very professional and timely manner. We highly recommend him.

Marc is an awesome DJ. My now husband and I were so pleased with the music that he played. I gave him a huge list because I wanted to give him options and he made very good choices. Marc responds quickly to emails and makes sure he does his homework before the big day. Very professional and a pleasure to work with. Marc was great! His services were a good value, and he followed through on his promises of responsiveness and professionalism. I just got married a couple weeks ago at the end of July 2014. And we hired Marc because of the great reviews he already had. One thing's for sure...he deserves all the good things you can read about him. He is very organized, friendly, and extremely accommodating and helpful.

We met with him in the beginning of our planning process, and he was very helpful from the get go. While my wife and I were still trying to figure out how a wedding is supposed to happen in the first place, he helped through even while we had no idea what we would need from him yet.

Then throughout the whole planning process he was always just one email or phone call away if we had questions. I tried to set a couple meetings with him as we were getting closer to the wedding date and had to cancel them because of family matters, both times he was totally understanding and helped me reschedule; never sounding condescending or annoyed.

He was able to make our wedding reception lots of fun. All my guests will remember that night for a very long time. I am from West Africa and had some family flying in and I asked Marc if we could incorporate some of our African music for them to enjoy and feel at home during the wedding. He never heard these songs before, but he was able to mix them along with all the good old school, hot40 hits, and the lovely traditional tunes. He mixed traditional and modern like it was meant to be together and kept the dance floor filled!

Marc was also a great MC, and worked with the vendors to start the different elements of the reception (dinner, cake etc.) when they were ready. He spoke clearly and audibly and came to us to find out when we were ready for our parts (first dance, garter and bouquet toss etc). He was cool but still professional throughout the night.

I had to write a great review to thank Marc for his work. He deserves your business and he has the knowledge, the experience, and the skills to make your wedding reception an unforgettable one.

Marc came highly recommended to us, but was already booked for our wedding day. In his place he put us in contact with one of his top rated colleagues Rob Hanna. Rob was the perfect match for our needs. The bride and groom as well as the majority of their guests were in their upper 30s to 60s and we wanted to set a tone that was reflective of this. Rob was perfect at keeping the flow of events while not being too prominent. Additionally, he was extremely timely, coming early to set up and loading out prior to our turning the venue back over. We would highly recommend him to anyone!

Marc was absolutely incredible at our wedding. He always returned my calls and emails promptly and took the time to meet with us before the wedding to get the final details together. He played all of the music on our request list and kept it to the (narrow) list of genres that we told him we wanted. He expertly saved us from a potentially very embarrassing situation by not allowing a drunk guest of ours to make a toast by politely explaining that there wasn't enough time for another toast. Many guests mentioned how great the music was and how much fun they had, and a lot of the credit goes to Marc. Definitely recommend if your goal is some good old fashioned, classy fun.

Marc is a very engaging DJ who listens and who quickly understood the wedding atmosphere we desired. He met with us in person and he was very attentive as well as punctual. Communication between us was timely and responsive. He worked well with our wedding coordinator and was able to provide last minute sound services during the ceremony (outdoors). His online music planning questionnaire was extremely helpful as it allowed us the time to think and discuss our music selection and "do not play list". During the wedding he was attentive to the guests and the mood of the wedding where he played the most appropriate songs to get people to dance. He knew when to slow it down or pick it up. Marc Augenbraum is an extremely skilled and professional DJ who helped our wedding ceremony and reception go off exactly the way we’d hoped. He listens and really tries to put the couple’s plan into action. He quickly responded to questions via phone and email and took the time to come meet us in person. He helped us fill in the blanks -- from how much music we'd need for the wedding party processional to providing sample playlists of prelude music. Marc’s great at bringing and moving his own equipment and making it work with the space provided. The sound quality was solid and the wireless mics (which we used for toasts and such) were also high quality. He also easily accommodated some quirks of the venue (second floor, and the speakers needed to face a particular direction). Marc worked according to the timeline we gave him, worked well with our DOC and other vendors, and pulled it off in a way that made it seem natural. He easily handled our special requests, like time to sing happy birthday to two of our guests. He directed the attention of our guests to special moments (like the cutting of the cake) but remained unobtrusive. Perhaps most importantly, Marc read the crowd and kept everyone on the dance floor. We opted for an all-passed tapas reception instead of a seated dinner, and Marc was able to judge which music to play when folks were eating that was fun and allowed for dancing, but didn't drown out conversation. Later, when it was all about the dance floor, Marc made sure that all generations were having a great time. We gave Marc a “must play” list of songs, all of which he played, but he did an amazing job of reading the crowd and playing whatever got people dancing (a priority for us). We would highly recommend Marc. His fees are more than reasonable for the high quality of his services, and he was able to work with us regarding our budget to eliminate extras like uplighting that we didn't really need.

Marc was great to work with from start to finish. He really listened and understood the mood we were going for. He was on time, professional, and really got the guests dancing. It’s extremely rare for me to write a review, whether I’ve had good service or bad service, but when it comes to Marc, I felt compelled to write something…he was just that great. Getting married at the Willard, my wife and I wanted to find a DJ that would play songs the crowd could certainly enjoy, yet matching the environment of the hotel. From the initial interview, Marc was our guy…we read many positive reviews on him and agree with all of his highlights. Most importantly, at least for us, he knows how to read a crowd, while keeping in line with your music tastes. Throughout the night we were told how great the music was…and it’s really all because of Marc. He was very easy to work with; he has high quality sound equipment; a strong voice to introduce the wedding party and move things along; he played the music we wanted; and of course, catered to the crowd (we had a full spectrum of ages, so, it was not an easy task). For me, one of the most memorable moments of the night was the string of songs he played at the tail end of dinner leading into and finishing off the toasts – I couldn’t have picked any better myself…they really fit the mood. And so it goes back to playing the songs you like, while fitting the situation at hand, which I can’t stress how important that is in a wedding DJ. Marc worked with us to find our musical tastes and he took off with it on the day…not one song was played that we didn’t thoroughly enjoy. No question about it, he made the reception memorable…couldn’t be happier!

Marc was referred to me by another DJ I had randomly contacted after a quick search on google. I reached out to Marc and he was quick to respond to my email. Within days, Marc drove out to my neighborhood for a pre-hire meet and greet. Marc was flexible on meeting location, date, and time, which made my job that much easier. Marc gave off a good first impression: he was clean cut, well-dressed, and carried a professional demeanor.

After I hired Marc, we met to go over my and my bride's expectations for our wedding day. Marc took careful notes, provided a very helpful schedule-of-events template for us to work off of, and was amenable to our requests. Throughout the time leading up to our wedding, Marc was always responsive to emails and calls, which gave us peace of mind that we had chosen the right person.

As for his work at our wedding: it was absolutely amazing. He honored our playlist and do-not-play list, and--as we requested--played a number of songs that were on neither, but matched the style suggested by our requests. He made sure the music was appropriate for each part of the reception. During dinner, there were quieter tunes that didn't drown out conversation; during the balance of the reception, he made sure the dance floor was always full. People loved the music. My wife and I could not have picked a better set of songs to play at our reception. It is also worth noting that Marc was a great MC: he coordinated with our other vendors to ensure that each event of the day was announced and announced on time.

I would highly, highly recommend Marc to anyone looking for a wedding DJ. I thought he was a good value, professional, responsive, and was an important lynchpin for the success of our wedding reception. I have zero regrets hiring him--and have nothing but praise for his fine work at our wedding.

Marc was amazing! From our first meeting where he gave us his background and a song list, to the subsequent emails, phone calls and meetings to put together the song list and the entire evening's schedule he was extremely helpful. When we tried to steer from some of the more traditional things such as the bouquet/garter toss, he gave us some modern ideas of replacements. He was perfect on timing and song choice! We had guests ranging in age from 3 into their 70's and no one had 1 bad thing to say about the music!! He kept them on their feet and having a great time!!

Leading up to the wedding, Marc was very responsive. We held our reception at a small venue, and we hosted cocktails, dinner, and dancing in different rooms, on the main floor, second floor, and cellar. Regarding the different set-ups required and moving about, Marc was flexible and accommodating. Marc worked well with the venue's director of catering. Regarding the music and dancing, the dance floor was packed all evening! All of our guests, from our friends to my ninety year-old grandmother, danced as Marc varied the music and everyone heard a favorite song of theirs played throughout the night. Further, Marc's prices are really quite reasonable.

We were impressed with Marc from the moment we first met him. He had been recommended to us by a coworker who has similar music tastes to us. Marc understood this and gave us just what we wanted! He was comfortable and classy in his delivery and he played a good mix of music (some more contemporary and some older stuff). And he really listened to us on the short list of songs that we did not want played. He also provided a really useful list of song options for all the typical parts of the wedding. He was responsive and very easy to work with. I highly recommend Marc Augenbraum to DJ any event!

Marc was great to work with throughout the wedding planning process, and he did a perfect job at our reception. Marc’s unparalleled professionalism and experience was apparent from our first meeting. Marc was thorough with making sure that we were on the same page regarding what music we wanted to hear, and what music we wanted to skip. We also appreciated that he took extra time to figure out which Italian songs to play to get some of our older relatives on the dance floor. On our wedding night, Marc met the perfect balance of being non-intrusive as a DJ while making sure we kept on schedule during the reception as the MC. His music selection was perfect, and it was great to see our older relatives get up and dance while our younger relatives and friends had a blast all night. We could not have asked for a better experience; we had fun all night, and our family/guests were still raving about the music even after we got back from our honeymoon. We were recommended to Marc by the St. Regis hotel, where we were having our wedding. He was on their preferred vendor list for entertainment. Marc was such a pleasure to work with from our initial emails, meeting, phone calls, and the actual event. Marc got to know us as a couple and understood the kind of party we wanted to have at our wedding. He did a great job keeping the party going all night and everyone on the dance floor. His attention to detail was on point with the announcements, song selection and timing. If that isn’t enough, his prices are also VERY reasonable. My wife and I recently got married and had Marc Augenbraum as our DJ. All we can say is that Mark Augenbaum is THE man! He went out of his way for us throughout the planning process and actually came to our home to meet with us before we even contracted with him. We interviewed a number of DJs for our wedding and discovered that it is standard that most are well versed in all music genres, have glowing reviews about how they got the party rockin', and offer ceremony and reception services, but not all DJs are equal. We chose Marc because it is personal to him, he is the DJ and owner of the company. There was no 3rd party booking agent, we worked directly with Marc and could see that he is vested in the quality of service provided. Marc is well experienced in the industry and thus was able to customize the program with us. He has a solid music knowledge as he even recognized the Hawaiian artist/song (Iz Kamakawiwoole) we selected for the mother-son dance! Additionally, if you're mostly a do it yourself-er, his network within the industry can be useful to help you along. He was always willing to do a face-to-face meet in the Northern Virginia area and was responsive (usually less than 12 hours) to us even after we had finalized key points. The best compliments come when least expected, so when my great uncle commented how impressed he was with the DJ's command of the room during the reception, I knew he nailed it! There was not a dry eye in the room during the mother-son dance and he followed that up by getting everyone on the dance floor, even the elderly folks (even those from outside the country)! Sure, on your biggest day, you want a rockin' party, but you are also showcasing yourself, your family and most importantly your relationship so we chose Marc for his professionalism, class, and to keep the party rockin'! Marc was fantastic. My fiancee and I were absolutely thrilled with Marc's work. He provided the music for both our cocktail hour and the reception. And, Marc made the music the star and not himself (we did not want our reception to be like a sporting event). He was very flexible and receptive to our requests. In a word, Marc's services and skills at each juncture of our wedding, from the planning process to closeout, were phenomenal. Having been to a number of weddings with a bad DJ, my wife and I were extremely conscious of how important it would be to pick the right one for our wedding. Marc came highly recommended and I knew after our first phone discussion that he was the right DJ for us. His approach was thorough and well thought out - demonstrating the skill to foresee things that my wife and I (definitely novices to planning a wedding) wouldn't even think to consider. At each step of the process, it was clear Marc wanted to make sure the music - and consequently the mood of the event - accounted for what we wanted to hear (and explicitly didn't want to hear). While he made every effort to gather our thoughts, it was so comforting to also be able to rely on his expertise and approach to help guide the event's development. When we had questions, Marc was patient. When we had specific wishes, Marc was accommodating. As we got closer to the event, when other vendors were having issues or hiccups, Marc was supremely prepared - invaluable to our peace of mind. On the day of the event, Marc was definitely on his A-game. I can't tell you how many people came up to us even before dinner was being served and said the music he had selected was absolutely perfect. During the reception, Marc knew exactly how to pace songs, when to ramp up the crowd and when to move into slower songs to give people a breather. He executed transitions between different reception milestones brilliantly (dinner, first dance, cake cutting, father-daughter, etc.) People had such an absolute blast because of the music he selected with only minimal guidance from us prior to the event. I couldn't be happier with Marc's services and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone planning their own wedding.

We couldn't have asked for a better wedding DJ experience than Marc. He was immediately responsive to all questions, flexible in working with our difficult schedules when setting up meetings, sensitive to our concerns, and all-around phenomenal to work with. Marc was just wonderful! He was unfailingly professional and friendly throughout the planning process and on the day itself. He even took time out of his workday to meet me at the reception site and go over how he would set up the sound system in the room, which was a gesture I really appreciated. Marc was well organized and very self-sufficient -- he clearly has been in the business for a long time and could easily navigate his way through the myriad of demands on wedding vendors. In terms of the music he played, I gave Marc a list before the wedding of about a dozen songs I particularly liked, and he extrapolated from that list to form a playlist that, if I didn't know better, I'd think he'd lifted directly from my i-pod. It was a wonderful blend of different types of music that everyone (especially me!) enjoyed. He even incorporated some songs from my husband's home country. (And he willingly played "Hail to the Redskins," even though he is a Giants fan. :) We got compliments all evening on how wonderful Marc was!

When planning our wedding, we were debating on hiring a DJ or band. We decided on a DJ in order to hear the music that we really loved growing up and still do.
